Didn't see it to start with, but they usually scale these community challenges all wrong. They're either far too easy, or virtually impossible, like last year when they had to halve the goal.
You mean as everything in DbD ? 😂

There's nothing more to add at the moment, as we are still monitoring feedback and keeping an eye on the perk and its effects on gameplay. If there is more to share regarding Made for This, our official platforms will be the best place to see it. Devs also cannot reply to everything, and at the risk of sounding like a broken bee, we do read everything.
How do you monitor the effect of a perk when pretty much 100% of the killers are camping and tunneling to still get 4k ?
The dev team does not understand that killers are using cheap mechanics to stil lget 4k and so the stats are irrevelent to show the balance of the game ?
If 100% of the killers are tunneling and then get a 4k, but are unable to get more than 1k if they do not tunnel, is the game balanced ? NO

As a Sadako main I have to chime in and agree with this.
I used to run builds focused around targeting different survivors. MFT completely ruins it, among many other things Sadako has like the lullaby and visual terror radius. I used to be able to work around the latter with precision chases at loops and managed downs before pallets/vaults but MFT guarantees an escape for them now, and guarantees a chain loop with any minor mistake made on either part.
Now I'm playing more Nurse or running Knock Out builds on M1 killers in general.
I'm stopping to play killer till they nerf it.
It is unbearable and shifting way too much the balance towards the survivors. The survivors were already OP and they get even more OP perks while killers just receive nerfs after nerfs.
7 years straight of being forced to deal with OP things the survivors receive.
When i play survivors (i'm a 50/50 player) i escap 70% of the time in soloQ, 90% in SWFs. And the devs are happy of the current kill rate/state of the game, i'm wondering where they get their stats cuase it is not my experience at all.
And when my friends use MFT now... it takes ages for the killers to down them...
After all those fails from BHVR, i cannot believe they still continue to release such broken perk without thinking twice about it, what is the PTB's point then if you wait for the Live stats to fix your balance ?
Can we actually get answers from the devs ? This is also boring that they are most of the time totally quiet...

Control pod>hit survivor with slipstream>EMP to undo everything that just happened>exit pod and move at 0.001 m/s for a few seconds.
Nah, I'll just play a killer with a power.
Exactly. The EMP is way too powerfull and survivors can spam the hell out of it.
At least if it were working as the Pinhead's cube... but it is not.
-
Have played extensively Singularity for 2 days now. Against uncoordinated survivors it's good enough but against coordinated teams, you can never use your power, all 4 survivors have an EMP pretty muc hthe whole game.
The chests provide way too many EMP devices.
Against the three coordinated teams i have faced, i could literally use my power in chase (teleport power) only once during the whole trials. They were spamming so many EMPs and shared them (survivors coming to use it on his friend) every time it was needed, i was totally powerless.
Using an EMPs should be a strategic choice, as it is with antidote for RE killers. There should be 4 EMPs per trial, and using them should be a choice.
Having a counter that disable the complete killer's kit and the fact that this counter can be spammed the whole game is a joke.
-
It is not, DbD toxic community at its finest.
Honestly i always grab and hook the down survivor when there are only 2 left and i stop to play to leave the 4th escaping.

If you have 100% BP bonus on survivors, then there is not enough survivors. Didn't you mean killer?
For me it's afternoon 100% BP for survivors and since like 8 PM it's 100% for killers.
Ye my bad 😂

I just get the 100% on the survivors side since the masquerade event (easier to get the masks i guess).

I'm just saying this behaviour has nothing to do with made for this. You could buff killer to 80% killrate and people would still tunnel and camp etc.
Nope.
We clearly saw it after the gen regression nerf, tunneling & camping is way more used today than before the nerf.
Removing every other playstyle fromkiller players hase just left one viable option : tunneling out of the game a survivor asap.

Well, now you can see why...
You will see tunneling until there is reason to focus multiple survivors.
They are going to nerf camping and 3-gen, so you should prepare for even more tunneling.
Ye instead of rethinking the global settings of the game, they try to forbid camping (and tunneling then). On my side, i have the BP bonus at 100% on the survivor side the whole day, there are less and less killers playing but hey let's destroy their gameplay more and more.

Always the same coming and calling others noobs or bad players. Actually why the moderators do not ban ppl with your behavior ?

If you want to cry for free handouts instead of learning how to handle the challenges the game throws at you, you'll never be good at the game. Period.
Remind me, were we calling these "safe loops" BEFORE or AFTER the release of MFT? And if BEFORE, how has MFT made them any safer?
Have you heard of Play With Your Food? Do you know how much Haste that can grant?
Then you just go and pull out random numbers, as if pallet economy, dead zones, and mindgames aren't a thing.
...all while pretending that you are forced to play a Killer who does not have a counter to MFT.
I mean come on man... just admit that you're not that great at the game, you have no interest in becoming better at the game, and you feel you deserve to beat people who are better than you at the game.

Pwyf loses a stack every single swing you make, and requires finding then losing the obsession to gain stacks, and caps at 3. I'm sorry but that is not a valid counter for a perk that's only conditions are "dont bring sprint burst" and "be injured." PWYF has some very niche builds it is good with (like tombstone myers) but its certainly not a hard counter to MfT
Add to this the fact that chasing the obession to gain a stack = loosing time.
Well that KayTwoAyy might be a new player or, as it looks like he likes to call other ppls bad players, a really bad player that is in denial regarding its skill level.

The issue with using raw math to determine if a move speed perk is OP or not is that the game only directly matches the calculation if the survivor and killer are continuously running in a stick-straight line. How often is this actually the case?
You’re honestly no better than the devs who look at spreadsheets to determine balance and go no further.
Cause from loops to loops you are running straight.
Doing the maths with a straight chase is actually the most defavorable situation for the survivors. Fact that to catch up a surv 5 meters away from you needs 2 extra seconds with MFT shows that with those 2 seconds you can reach a pallet/window that you could not reach without the perk.
Adding safe loops and safe windows in between just favors the survivor way more than a straight line.
Next time think twice before writing something cause it is pure logic.
-
@KayTwoAyy said:
Alternatively, Killers could just use their brain and/or their power to catch Survivors, instead of following their exact pathing and rely on math to win them the game.
Ye of course, in the killer roster all killers have a power to close up distance with the survivors 😂
Maybe devs could stop hating the killer players and think about their enjoyment of the game instead of giving the over-broken perks to survivors :)
And FYI, a safe loop is a loop where there is no mindgame and guess what, the game is full of safe loop.
Just imagine a perk that, after 1 successfull hit on a survivor, you get a 3% speedboost (as killer) everytime you chase this survivor :). I guess you would hate it isn't it ?
DbD is all about timing and a perks as made for this break all timings :
- the corner you could not reach ? No worry, MFT is here and now you can reach it
- the pallet you could not reach ? MFT
- the window you could not reach ? MFT
- you have lithe ? no worry MFT stacks with it
In DbD, everytime you reach a pallet or a window, it adds 20 seconds time of free chase. MFT grants you the possibility to reach those pallets/windows maybe at least 2 times more for each survivor. If all 4 have MFT, it is just 160 seconds of free chase time, no skill involved, just hold W.
The perk is so strong that the synergie with gen rush perks is insane :
- it is better to stay injured as with the sped boost you can hold a killer as long as if you had 2 health states -> you save healing time that you then use to gen rush
- resilience activated the whole game (faster vault speed as well, increasing even more the global faster everything efficiency)
- prove thyself
In one week, all trials will be composed of 4 MFT survivors.

killers complaining they're having a hard time against survivors that cooperate and play together.
Yes and ?
Survivors should not have an easy game when they are a SWF. That is the main problem with DbD.
Every killer should be viable against a good SWF, which is completely not the case.
-
It is obviously better as it has been buffed but still the killer is powerless if the survivors are coordinated.
-
Forgot to mention this : what is the point to nerf a perk like DH if you release, 3 months later, a perk that is even stronger than the old DH ?
-
@Seraphor said:

-
Survivor main i guess 😂
If you loose on those maps against a Blight or Nurse, the proble is on your side unless you face LilithOmen.
-
The devs have no idea of what they are doing about anything in DbD. 7 years of datas and still they do not know anything about the game.
They still have not understand that 4 survivors > killer and 3 survivors < killer forcing the killer to tunnel right at the start. Result ? The game is fun for nobody.
-
Design wise, singularity is way better, it brings a new way to play the game for both sides.
As of performances, SM is stronger but she is broken atm...

I wouldn't call End Transmission a failure, just because there's a very easy way to salvage Larry's kit. Nerfing the EMPs, if done correctly and in the right way, will fix most of the glaring issues with his kit, unlike Knight and Skull Merchant who just have glaring problems at the fundamental of their design. It isn't a failure if it can be saved, which unlike the last 2 it can be.
Knight is okay, it requires teamplay but it is not broken.
Skull Merchant however is completely broken.
And for the Singularity, i agree with you.
-
@Aurelle said:
Don't forget:
- Nerfing every good perk in the game just because they were used too much. Worst decision ever made. Perks shouldn't be nerfed because of high usage.
- 2 new terrible maps (Decimated Borgo, Toba Landing) + terrible map reworks (Shelter Woods, Autohaven)
- Solo survivor getting thrown under the bus and forgotten time and time again.
Forged In Fog actually isn't that bad now compared to it's release. Tools Of Torment was a flop of a chapter and missed the mark in every possible way. End Transmission is actually pretty decent, Singularity just needs some balancing done (Also Toba Landing needs direly fixed).
End transmission has many good ideas (the killer) but once again it is not balanced and survivors' counter measures are way too powerful atm.
-
@OwlWithMustache said:
Knight was bad, but is pretty alright now although I will admit Skull Merchant isn't... well she really sucks and the game would be better if she wasn't in it. I don't know that the new killer is a failure either.
Good swf being too strong is dependent on the killer. Against trapper or pig, it feels unwinnable. Most everyone else though it's more likely a skill issue than swf actually being op.
Killers camping and tunneling has been a thing since the beginning and it's not going to change for quite some time.
Many perks could be better, but 80% is an exaggeration, its more like 30% tbh
No server hit validation? What?
MMR is fine, if anything it should be more strict.
(bodyblocking pallets, adding time to solo-gen, self heal nerf, too many pallets, infinites still in game etc...)
I don't see how body blocking pallets is an issue, the increased gen time was fine, self healing was brokenly strong, too many pallets in what maps, and there are literally 0 actual infinite's unless you're allergic to breaking pallets
It is not because something is strong than nerfing it is a good idea, they can buff the opposite side to balance it.
Why is self healing and global healing nerf bad ? cause it takes ages to heal now and it is an extreme nerf to soloQ players. Forcing team healing in a game where selfishness is incredible was not a good idea.
Why is the increase to do gens a bad idea ? Cause it is boring to fill a bar.
MMR is not fine, more strict MMR result in unplayable trials for killers as top MMR (strict) ends up being strong SWF every trials. You are surely a new player cause we have had a strict MMR and killers were massively quitting.

What do you say about the improvements to the killer in the next update?
There won't be anything good enough to fix the game.
The game is in such a state that it needs a complete health update to rebalance everything from scratch. Everything feels clunky, broken and boring for both sides.
- 20 safe loops with 15 pallets to break = boring for the killer
- ages to heal with sloppy = boring for the survivor
- facing Tier S killer = boring for survivors
- playing a tier B and lower killer = boring for the killer
- gen rush = boring
- camping/tunneling = boring
- filling bar for 90% of the trial = boring as a surv
- strong loop into strong loop RNG = unplayable for the killer
Well there are so many game design problems... that the game ahs become a chore to play.

No, this is how you kill your playerbase. This game is not meant for competitive play and 95% of its playerbase is casual players.
You cannot use a SBMM system if you do not balance your game towards high level of play.
Either you use SBMM and you balance the game either you do not use SBMM and balance is not that important.
Today you have a SBMM system with a game totally unbalanced, it is impossible to have fun with such settings.
There is not a single/close trial now it is either stomp or get stomp, it is awful.
-
@I_CAME said:
"good SWFs still way to strong"
and they always will be. You can't make good players play badly. Especially not when there is a full team of them. That team with comp players that hens put together severely limited what they brought in their 200 game win streak and they were still winning. Good players will always be good. I don't see how you can nerf a player's skill. There aren't any nerfs that can stop a SEAL Team Six SWF from dominating against randoms in public matches.
If the best killer player cannot win against the best SWF, it is not a skill nerf that is needed but a proper balance to the game.
The game should be balanced around high skill level, not around average players.
-
@Boons123 said:
Only negative things were mentioned
And then you consider this chapter (failed)?! Because you just didn't like it?
Well, I considered the Resident Evil chapters a flop because I didn't like them or The whole game is a failure because I did not like it
(Failure) is a strong word
It is hard to enjoy any positive changes with such a game state.
The chapter is bad cause it is, once again, not properly balanced. The new killer is powerless, no one plays it and well there have not been major changes to the curretn state of the game.
Being forced to wait for months for the devs to balance every fail they do is boring and unacceptable, especially considering the money they have made with the game.
Stellaris devs, for exemple, are way better and faster to balance their games and well Stellaris is a game way more complexe than DbD.
Some are saying the game is in a better state than before. If you compare it to 2017 yes it is better but compared to the previous patch (before the gen regression nerf/healing nerf), it is worse.
Tunneling/camping and gen rush were way less of a problem before cause players had perks to play for fun and winning.
Now everything has been nerfed to the ground so ppl are just playing not to have fun but to win no matter what.

-
Cause Hit validation Server does not exist :)
It has been activated for a few months and hits were fairer. It is obvious now that it has been deactiated, especially for killers with high ping.
Everytime i face a killer from a high ping location, i see unfair hits.
-
I guess it is exactly as in other games with EAC. Around 20% cheaters overall, maybe 30% cause EAC is a really bad anti-cheat.
But yes there are more and more killers that know exactly where survivors are without any aura perks, finding quiet survivors in dead zone of the map.
It happens everyday in 10-20% of my games.
-
Yes it is busted, especially because it allows every player to optimize looping knowing exactly where the pallets are from the start to the end of the trial.
But that is not the only busted perk, the number of perks being garabge and totally shifting the balance of the trial might be around 20 to 30 perks (15 for each side).
Rose add-ons are also busted for both sides.
Map offerings are a major problem.
Andi could go on and on. I guess i could write at least 10 pages on what is wrong with this game and what needs to be adressed. The fact is that the devs are completely trapped into the game design they have built over the years, adding the perk A to counter the OP perk B but then the perk A is OP so we need to create the perk C to counter it...
Well it is a never ending story cause the game has become too complex, not in a smart way.

I mention it being uncommon because it's silly to not look at how abuseable something is. To your point Nurse is still extremely busted but given she also isn't that common I don't think she needs addressing.
Everything that is busted need to be adressed.
It is not because we see her 5% of the time that it is fine if those 5% are jsut unwinnable trials.
-
Everything in the game needs an overhaul balance change.
Perks are way too much game changer, tools/add-ons too.
Nerfing healing was the worst decision from the devs, it is now almost impossible to heal. It is not "you loose more time healing" as the devs thought it would be; it is "you are forced to play injured the whole game".
Now killers jsut need one shot to down a surv most of the trial.
It does not work against SWF cause they use META perks, protection hit etc but playing in soloQ an duoQ is hell now.
It is just an exemple, there are many things broken now, it has been years since devs do, mostly, bad changes.
-
New usual DbD players behavior.
And if you play soloQ, you will see that there are many many survivors running the killer towards other survivors on purpose now aswell.
I have not seen such a toxic community anywhere else, even on LoL it is not as toxic.
-
@Skill_issue said:
if you get tunneled then make it not worth the killers time to chase you...simple as that.
first of all are you running windows of opportunity/off the record/an exhaustion perk or unbreakable/decisive strike? good
can you hold w and run to an undesirable structure for the killer to run after you? (killer shack/building/jungle gym) good and if you cant then predrop the pallet and run to the next structure when the killer is breaking the pallet
very easy to eat up the killers time without needing any skill to loop...if you can loop it is even easier and you can mind game the pallet...windows helps with that.
are you being tunneled off the hook? use your base kit borrowed to make distance to a safe loop like described...if you are downed then decisive strike on the pick up and run to a safe loop.
if you are not using these steps and using the above perks then take responsibility on yourself for hurting your teammates...works on all killers in the game for the most part except for nurse and maybe blight
this isnt even counting bodyblocking and sabotages and blinding saves
what are the communities thoughts? do you run the above perks? do you get annoyed at teammates who cant seem to run and at least make distance if nothing else?
Well it would work if the unhooked survivor was automatically healed and if the other survivors have gen rush perks equipped.
For now tunneling is a win/win strategy for the killer if the survivors are not full META perks users.
The current state of the game is terrible, DbD won't survive much longer as 90% of the trials are not fun at all, for both sides.
SBMM started to kill the game, now the recent perk changes is finishing it.
-
I would like you to show us how you win against a high MMR SWF :)
And then show us how you play in soloQ as a survivor.
I'm tired of ppl like you having 0 argument and just being sarcastic and giving ad hominem attacks.
"Blala you are wrong because i have decided you are"
You obviously play at a really low level to think that killers are OP, i do not even know how it is possible to believe this 😂
You clearly have a skill issue if you can't win a game with your SWF using META perks. Yo uare obviously a baby player with barely 1000h of playtime 😂
Then you point out my comment is a bait while i have given many fair points. You haven't however so who is the troll ?
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
I agree with you here.
Devs wanted boost kill rates. And they did. It almost imposible to even power gates lately. Killer dream is real now.
At low MMR yes, at high MMR (with SWF) it is pretty much 100% escape
The actual META is garbage and SWFs are using tools you cannot compete with :
- off the record
- syringue or antiseptic shot
- DS
- SB/Lithe etc..
- map offerings
That game has become a garbage experience where everything is off balance :
- way too many ultra safe loops
- broken loop imbrications with strong tiles right next to strong jungle gyms creating infinites in pretty much every trials
- just 3 or 4 killers with real anti-loop
- many survivor sided maps
- items + add-ons way too strong
- perks completely changing the balance of the game to the point it is impossible to balance it
At high level there is nothing to enjoy in this game anymore. Strong killer will face sweat unbeatable SWFs, good survivors will get 100% of camp/tunnel killers.
-
The anti-camping mechanic will add a way to deal with camping BUT will improve the efficiency of tunneling.
So it will be a clear win/win for killers proxy camping : they will still proxy-camp, if the survivor does not self-unhook, it will change nothing, if the survivor self-unhook the killer will tunnel and the global camping/tunneling process will be faster and so more efficient.
The only way to prevent camping is that it should be a choice with a downside to it, which is not the case atm.
Killer camping -> gen progression is 30% faster.
Killer tunneling -> if the survivor is downed right after being unhooked without another survivors being downed before, 30% gen progression for 45 seconds (unless if it is a protective hit of course).
Thoise downsides are removed once there is only the equivalent of 1 complete gen left.
Everything else will never work. A killer camping/tunneling at 5-4-3 gens should get an instant loss 90% of the time.
-
Nurse must be removed from the game.
It is the only broken killer of the game, the only one you cannot do anything against most of the time.
It needs to be completely reworked to work with the general DbD's mechanics (looping) and if impossible it has to be removed.
At this point, playing the nurse is pretty much an exploit.
-
In which multiplayer games ?
Counter-Strike ?
Hunt Showdown ?
L4D ?
Evolve ?
Quake ?
Halo ?
I will wait a long time before you answer this i guess 😂

Like it or not that's what you should do. If your internet is THAT unstable then you will just constantly accumulate a dc penalty and ruin yours and others experiences.
My internet is fine, it happens rarely but even though i did not DC the last 500 trials, if i loose my connection, i do not understand why i should be punished.
There are statistics about the numbers of DC, if you never do it and it happens once, why should you get a penalty ?
And about ruining the game, it is already ruined by camping/tunneling in every trials but it is another subject.
-
