Long cooldown? What a joke lol, it has almost no cooldown.
Missing/not htiting a survivor has a 3 second cooldown and throwing a survivor has a 5 second cooldown.
The first one is standard and the second one is one of, if not the longest "hit" cooldowns in the game.
-
Every now and then.
-
Honestly? I have no idea. I'm either silent in end game chat or if there was a good player, I'll throw in my usual "gg wp, gl with next game! <3".
Recently I had a player just started swearing at me over it. I did nothing but just play efficiently as survivor with not even great perks. It's abit upsetting really.
-
This is a situation where you gotta aim better.
-
Same as the leaderboards and changes to Huntress' hatchet hitboxes. Seen once, then never seen again. Its par for the course.
-
I think I'm too far in. The sunken cost fallacy is a dangerous mistress...
-
How will the upcoming changes to certain maps affect how you balance/looks at perks in the future?
-
Seeing how I've had someone today say that he's an "unloopable killer", I'd say he's pretty good.
-
I mean you still have 2 minutes of EGC to get out.
-
Jack the Ripper.
Dunno if that counts as Folklore, but make of it what you will
-
Yes, DBD is an Asymmetrical game.
-
- Alan Wake
- Resident Evil
- Cry of Fear
-
The Thing.
Not the 2011 remake/prequel, the one with this beautiful bastard.
RJ Macready. Who doesn't want that beautiful hair in DBD?
-
I've found success with Whispers, Discordance/Surveillance, Nurse's Calling and Pop Goes The Weasel
-
Yeah! More people should play him today! It's time to celebrate!
Come on! I've already started!
(1st pic related)
(2nd image attached unrelated)
-
I dunno, just like a normal ass frog.
-
I dunno, I've been playing him and I feel like the removal of the proximity sound during Night Shroud has really helped out exposing people and getting surprise hits on them.
Also, the only reason you now hear his footsteps when playing him is because they were previously shadowed by the "loud ass whoosh" (the proximity sounds that's now removed). Not every change is Armageddon. Not every adjustment is "the mother of all nerfs". Maybe spend some more time with him, if you change your mind, that's fine. If you still have the same opinion, that's also fine! Just, maybe tone it down when there are people out there who are doing objectively fine with him.
-
I don't want to seem disrespectful, but if you can't play the game without Self Care and Ruin, then you're not getting the full experience of the game. Yes, it'll take a bit of time to learn how a survivor hides from the killer, if you'll find a ruin totem or just work through it and as killer how to mind game, put pressure on the survivors and what areas to patrol.
Also, if you say that you're doing bad, but are having to "rely on self care and ruin", maybe your play-style at the moment doesn't work well with those perks. Maybe consider not using them and swapping them out for an alternate build.

What were the other itterations/versions of the Freddy rework that didn't make the cut?

It's hitboxes too. Not just latency, people have done research
The Devs have gone out themselves and said that it isn't hitboxes. Because DBD in it's current state works with a peer to peer connection and not dedicated servers, there's the issue that desync can take place, where you see yourself in one place, but the killer will see you in another.
In a very basic way to put it, you see yourself further than the killer will see you, the game won't update where you were on the killer's screen and to them, it'll seem like a normal hit. It doesn't even matter if they have good ping, desync can still occur.
-
So you're not going to offer construtive critisim and just randomly drop and curse word?
-
So we just get Alan Wake up in here and we're all good, right?

I think these are fake, sorry to say, The Pig is a licensed Killer, the reason licensed killers don't get cosmetics cause they need permission and a bunch of legal talk and all has to be done to implement, they don't own them.
They were taken from the Dev Build accidentally pushed out instead of the mid chapter patch. BHVR directly address this on their DBD Twitter. Needless to say, it's real.

So, out of curiosity I thought I'd check out DBD at 4K (downscaled because I only have a 1080p monitor). And oh my, does it make such a huge difference.
(most of what I say about the older update are from memory, so sorry if I get anything incorrect)
We can blame alot of lost details in the environment and character models on DBD's current Anti Aliasing. Before, in earlier updates before DBD's engine was update to the Unreal Engine version 4.2.0/4.2.1, DBD used an anti-aliasing technique called FXAA (Fast approximate Anti Aliasing) which was the lightest form of AA, did it's job but had many downsides. Namely what it does to textures, especially transparent ones. It makes them all "muddy" In a way that is generally unpleasant to look at, and makes seeing things in the distance awful.
The current AA we have in DBD (I'm unsure of what it actually is) doesn't work in the same as FXAA. FXAA only works by smoothing the edge between each pixel over and over until the desired effect was achieved which can look bad compared to the current AA which seems to work by smoothing the edged around models on the map which works well, but still makes alot of finer details on models and in the environment.

[posted by accident will finish it up quickly]Below is an image that in some way shows the difference that would be made if we had something like MSAA or SSAA.

The survivor that I play the most.
-
I myself am sensitive to motion sickness, and the FOV hasn't been that much of an issue. Except for one thing.
I use Monitor & Abuse often, and the sudden change in FOV is pretty disorientating. So, maybe that can be changed in some way atleast?
-
If they had a small hitbox, then they'd be able to close the gap in a loop much faster. The trade off isn't worth it.
-
Triple Pip would be kinda nice...
I see why it was removed tho.
-
No. Can't justify running it.
-
Putting a BHVR thing next to it doesn't make it official.
This is done by a DBD SFM artist. Good on you for stealing their content then trying to show it as "official".
Give credit to the artist and stop stealing other people's work.
-
I mean if you have someone with Small Game or Detective's Hunch probably. I'd say check the map for totems, maybe sure they're broken down.
-
I have to say. That was my exact same experience with OverWatch.
I just hope that Freddy won't end up the same, because I don't want a similar situation where my favourite character is just obliterated.

I was like, do you want killer to be terrible? ๐๐๐
I think it was something to do with it being 1 in the morning and being jacked up on Energy Drinks. Life of someone who's played just a little bit too much Quentin I guess.
But it's more than I got excited about perk ideas and didn't want to go to sleep yet. I guess I went a little overboard? ๐
-
@Poweas It has taken me this long to realize that I typed movement speed instead of action speed.
-
@Dustin I do like the idea of Left Behind becoming a part of a surv's base kit. Anything to make 1v1 games somewhat possible would be great.
-
I also want to apologize for the formatting. I'm not used to posting here, I just wanted to get some ideas out there and hopefully spark a discussion so more people on both sides can get more enjoyment out of the game!
I know the game is in a pretty weird state at the moment, but I feel like to give us some hope, we can look at some perks and think about how they could be rework or buffed! More ideas about the perks I talked about or even other perks that aren't here would be cool too! It's nice and beneficial to see perks from another persons point of view.
-
no.
rework.
-
They literally said at the start of release their own stuff, without being influenced by StarBreeze, that they would do 4 original killers first. What do you want?
-
Killer
Freddy Krueger
aka: The Nightmare
aka2; Sharp Hand Joe
Perks
BBQ & Chilli
BBQ & Chilli is mostly for tracking after your hooks. If you're one of the people who solemnly swear against BBQ, Spies From The Shadows works wonders too.
STBFL (Save The Best For Last)
STBFL is to make up for the dream transition period that you have to deal with. But to me, I like to see it as a bonus. You hopefully won't be hitting the obsession too many times because of the 1 hit downs you'll be getting with MYC (explained below)
MYC (Make Your Choice)
Make Your Choice will be the core of this build. If someone asleep is unhooking someone, they're either going to stay to get woken up, leaving more than enough time to get there and chase them down, or they'll stay to heal or run away, making for an easy down and an easy hook.
M&A (Monitor and Abuse)
Lowers your TR (which is important with Freddy) as you can see people who are asleep that are outside of your terror radius. M&A lowers your TR from 24 meters to 16 meters. This can make it easier when tracking people who are closer. (Sidenote: Monitor and Abuse doesn't affect the "lullaby radius", as that is separate.
Addons
Nancy's Masterpiece
Good for sleeping people at a distance. If you can sleep them from far off, the added time from the other addon (green dress) is made up for since it's very unlikely they'll know where they've been slept from.
Green Dress
Decreases the chances of skillchecks triggering when in the Dream World (while slept by Freddy), but it also increases the dream Transition by 0.5 seconds. With the range addon, this pretty much makes no difference as you'll still be catching up.
Play Style
Do what you usually should do. Try to sleep as many people as possible, only commit to a chase if you know you can end it quickly and preferably go for either the first person you sleep to start the chain reaction of using MYC for the quick downs, or take the risk and wait until you've got the weakest player so you have good bait.
After you have your first hook, using the aura reading of BBQ & Chilli (or the aura of people you might have slept during your set-up) go onto your next target. If you don't know where the other survivors are, just make sure you're far away enough from the hook so that MYC can still be triggered and wait for the unhook, or go out to find the others. It's important to have as many people asleep as possible, especially when someone is hooked as it makes it easier to find out who just unhooked the bait (survivor on the hook) for that one hit down from MYC.
End Note
Yes, it doesn't work all the time, but it has carried me to rank 1 before. It (in my opinion) is one of the most effective ways of playing Freddy since it does something that is usually seen as impossible. It turns Freddy powers into a seriously good ability more than a hindrance. I personally don't like using Hex:Ruin since it doesn't clash with my style of play. When the game gets rolling, it REALLY gets rolling. It can seem like you are losing steam after a while, but it's easy to pick up afterwards.
I hope more people try this out since it's a fun way to play Freddy!

He sucks. Stop trying to be a rebel and saying he is good. Just accept he sucks and wait until he doesnโt suck, if that ever happens.Have you ever heard of a differing opinion, or do you just try to put people down because they don't think the same way as you?
-
I think Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger. Maybe even Leather Face or SAW even though it isn't really a "slasher" movie, but it's still a horror movie.
-
Is there going to be a buff to freddy, or a full rework?
-
Well, atleast the perks name actually makes sense. You're literally saving the best til' last.
-
Let Huntress throw Frying Pans at survivors
-
There is one thing to remember.
You are the killer. YOU make the rules. They have to play with those rules set.
A killer is a good killer if they can kill.
A survivor is a good survivor if they can survive.
If they die due to the killer killing them, then they have done a bad job at surviving and the killer has done a good job killing them. I fail to see how some people have these "un-written rules" for themselves that apparently everyone else has to follow. It's childish. -
He's my only P3 50 killer. And the only P3 killer I have and also the only killer past P2.
I gotta say, I love playing the toasted trashy boi
