Then you'd have people just inputting whatever they can click to get the BP code as fast as they can. It'd poison the dataset.
People do that anyway because this game's community is almost as bad as Overwatch's

I would definitely love normal emotes as well, but it is probably not a good idea in this game since the community is very toxic. That’s also the reason why most people react so negative to any suggestion about emotes.
Seems like they react negatively about anything remotely to do with the game. It's a weird community. They take so much so personally and they're hyper sensitive about the dumbest things. Like ffs, they get tilted over a killer "W S Keying" them on the ground…

I don’t know whether or not you misunderstood me. I want to select voice lines and other sounds the killer can make in an emote wheel, but without actual animations.
No I didn't misunderstand you, I was trying to snowball off the idea and build excitement…

Not sure why you're downvoted. DBD was dark and gloomy some time ago, and in a lot of ways it still is, but it has embraced its humorous side (and rightfully so.) Nic Cage's voice lines are hilarious
Yeah, it just show cases how toxic the community is, I'd say 90% of them didn't even read what I said, they just saw Skull Merchant's face and got triggered.

i don't want fortnite, i don't want emotes 🙏
I don't want an end game chat but hey, we don't always get what we want. At least with no EGC it serves a purpose unlike having more customization options. EGC just expresses disingenuous GGs or used as a platform to throw out hate. But then again I'm from OCE and those guys are beyond toxic
-
@Leon_Loves_Cheryl said:
Are there any actual reasons why we haven't received all the great features that DBD mobile had? What exactly is stopping/preventing BHVR from implementing all those improvements and emotes and cosmetics etc.?
I'd say the only reason is because of money, or they lack the knowledge on how to implement them into the game without losing more of the stability the game has. Could be a magnitude of things. But I'd personally love to see more options for customizing my favourite characters.

As long as the emotes fit the game, yeah. Like using their Lobby Animations in a match for example would be PEAK!
But if survivors or even killers could do funny dances or gestures in this game, i would puke. The Lute is as far as it should go when it comes to silly emotes.
I think we lost the whole "Seriousness" of the game when they included the goofy run and Nic Cage, not to mention in mobile they have an outfit of cardboard T-rex along with dances and emotes, so I don't think they've really taken the game seriously for too long.
-
Bad suggestion, there are killers that would never find a game if that were the case. I'm sure there's plenty of survivors have passionate hate for 90% of the roster so they'd never find a game either.
-
Just report and hope for the best.

I want voice line or roar emotes for killers, that would be awesome.
Hell yeah! It would be great to see more killers getting voice lines or even different gestures they can make!

More Moris are inevitably coming at some point. There was no positive to the Finisher Mori, all it does is encourage slugging for the 4k and makes people hate Mori animation nowadays instead of liking them (or at least tolerating them).
No dance emotes, just no. BMing is already a big issue in this game, I'd rather not have to deal with Survivors literally dancing at the exit gates or over slugs until the last second, REsistance was enough of a chore.
In fact, outside of a chat wheel (with things like "I'm going for the save!" and "don't save he's camping!") then there should be as limited communication in-game (outside of the necessary for coordination) as possible. The community already has a tendency to throw slurs and jeers post-game at people for any reasons (sub-optimal build, didn't loop well enough, didn't get a 4k etc.) it would be nice to not add fuel to this.
There's always going to be toxicity in this game though. It won't ever stop and it'll probably only ever get worse. Best to just get over it.
The chatbox should just straight up be removed. but you know, it'll probably stay so again, I'd say just get over it and lean with it
-
I don't think I'll ever understand why they did the finisher mori. It's definitely breathed a whole new form of toxicity into the game.

Awww but I wanna get jiggy while someone plays the guitar

The dino collection was from another netease game, it was some zombie game or something. I'm not too sure BHVR wants to associate with netease again after the swift failure of DBDM
oooo would they be able to give us outfits from the mobile game in that case? I mean, I'm assuming so since they own the iP

They were called generic cosmetics. There was a wedding collection, a AOT collection, a cardboard dino collection, catfé collection. Only like 5 or so
I saw the cardboard dino collection! I'm kind of hoping all of these cosmetics come to the main build.
-
That would be good if they gave us blanket outfits for sure. But I mean the shirt blueprint is there. They're simple with infinite designs

I've been reports that the lag is still quite bad. I can only guess the server is down

Thanks at least us survivors managed to get the game about .0001% less killer sided.
Base killer must always be stronger than base survivor and if you have a 4 man swf of survivors that know what they're doing, it's very survivor sided. But sure, let's gut the killer that wasn't really a problem (Yes, it was merely the survivors complaining and refusing to learn a counter that was the problem)

Yeah, I think SM's the worst Killer in the game right now. With lasertagging fixed then maybe she's better than Freddy and Trapper and Myers, but in her current state… yeah she's in the toilet.
She is easily the weakest killer in the game now. Well done cry baby survivors, you won
-
For a moment I really thought they went back on the single scan line and gave us two back. When I loaded into a Custom match to see how her new haste feature worked, I was shocked when I discovered you have to get a survivor scan within 5 seconds of a drone placement to get it. This makes her weaker than the knight. You can literally just hold W and you won't ever be caught.
Having 1 scan line makes her drones that easy to avoid that you're basically just an M1 killer now.
I have nearly 6k hours in dbd. 50/50 Killer/Survivor and all the time I spent on killer was Skull Merchant. Now I have to wait probably longer than a year before her actual changes come through.
As a lover of Dead By Daylight, I'm filled with sorrow and my motivation to even touch this game have dwindled.
From the OCE's inclusion to SEA servers, making every game feel like a sweat laggy toxic filled session, to the only killer I actively enjoyed playing being gutted beyond recognition. I don't know if I want to dedicate any more of my time to this game, because you never know when your favourite aspects of the game will be gutted and changed.
This was not a good job Devs…

It -should- work like that. Until BHVR comes out and says this is working as intended, its definitely a bug.
Its likely not to get fixed anytime soon regardless.
I get it's probably low priority. But I would rather they at least acknowledge it.

Hardened doesn't prevent a scream, it converts it into an aura, per the wording of the perk. It is bugged currently, with no fix date mentioned.
I'm glad someone acknowledges that there appears to be a bug, I wasn't sure if there was some loophole or something i was missing

is scene partner going on cooldown. Bc if it's not then it's not activating to be blocked by hardened.
It's not going into cooldown no. It's not activating at all.
-
I've provided a short video but no response.
-
scene is meant to make you scream, harden stops that, then shows you the aura, but it isn't
-
@Wezqu said:
Yeah its working as intended. Hardened makes you not scream and Scene Partner requires you to scream. So Hardened prevents Scene Partner from working. Some perks can cause other perks to not activate and is totally normal.
Yeah but that's the point, scene partner is meant to make you scream when you look at the killer regardless. Then Hardened will show you the aura, but it isn't
-
-
This can be fixed by restarting your game. There is no word on an official fix but this is a temp fix that might help you out
-
I like these proposed changes, I think people need to calm down with her hate and just accept that her changes are coming eventually! Imagine if they gutted a killer like wesker.
-
What would be the point of that?

give me a 10k hour nurse every day of the week over a skull merchant, at least they actually had to invest time to get decent at it.

I accept I will face SM - they can accept I won't play against it. you see how silly the argument sounds.
The bottom line is, the killer is unfun to play, and unfun to play as. It needs to be changed.
That's a matter of opinion, not fact, I love playing as and against her.
-
It won't kill the game, everyone will keep playing it because they're addicted. It sucks and needs to be fixed, but they know full well there's a problem, complaining about it further does nothing.
-
@billybowl said:
Are all these pro skull merchant comments from developers? Cause that's te only reason for defending this rot is if you're paid for it.
Lol
-
I feel like skull merchant's main issues stem from that one popular person that used her solely to 3 gen [even though he only uses singularity to do it now], now she has a stigma she'll never recover from, then you get the salt farmers that love the hate so they use her solely to be toxic and grief which tarnishes her more. Nothing about the killer (aside from some of her addons) need to be changed. Her kit is fine, it's the people filled with too much hate within their hearts that need to change. As we all know, when it comes to DBD and its playerbase, you can't tell them anything
-
If they did the player base would find the strongest and every lobby would get filled with that survivor.
Take a look at TCM, they had to introduce a queue ban of people left because they didnt getting the character they wanted.
It would also mean that only the strongest would get used, so now no one else will get outfits because of the meta. I prefer it being that survivors don't play differently.
-
Nah, consoles don't get the end game chat so why should PC?
-
No, her kit is fine, it's the addons that need help
-

Okay, but does that mean Background player flashbang can get nerfed too then?
How about prove thyself and friendly competition?
What about hyperfocus and Stake out?
Pain res and Pop have been a prominent combo since Pain res was released, there are much worse combos to have and the constant spam of items is nice to have something to go against it. I've faced it as survivor but I've run Object for years, all it does is help me. My only complaint about the perk is more killers need to run it so I can have more wall hacks with object

Hmmm… I'm not sure auto aim hits happen enough that it would be a problem. Most of the time when it happens is when a survivor is trying to unhook anyway… and this WOULD be a pretty decent mechanism to at least discourage hitting a survivor on hook. Realistiically I don't think it'd make a difference, you're still probably not get the unhook becuase of this… but what it would do, is psychologically make a survivor less upset about being hit on hook… it would make a purely negative thing a potetnially good thing… which would be a positive for the experience.
@DrHyk - For the second part, there is a good reason why this mechanism exists, and was a major factor in the design on the AFC. Just so you are aware, the reason this happens is this is not the first time BHVR have tried to make a system like this. In previous iterations of the AFC, good survivors would abuse the mechanic and deliberately/constantly run towards the hook and force the killer to have to run by the hook to chase them and it would build up the anti-camp mechanism or drop chase to avoid building the anti camp system.
You can basically put the killer in a catch 22, where they need to go under hook to chase you, but they can't chase you without building the AFC, and if the killer takes too long downing the other survivor, then the hooked survivor gets a free unhook… the killer is punished for not camping…
So I'm afraid thats a no my guy, that pause when orther survivors are running under it is a very important mechanic that can't be removed.
Are you one of the devs?
-
People would thumbs down every killer that killed them, leaving only baby killers to play against. Imagine how long queue times would be for Legion knight and skull merchant

50% is far too much for Wiretap/Chemical trap/Repressed Alliance. Wiretap was 33% and was fine, now you can‘t get value from it and the other perks would be ok if they reduce them. Currently they aren‘t worth it, because of the 50%.
Killers constantly complain about survivors gen rushing and instead of giving them less need to do that….
Also those perks deserve a decrease, because of the increased gen times.
Pain res and pop are very strong, I don‘t see what they have to do with those changes.
The mentioned gen perks don't need to be changed.
