Idk if this is with anyone else but it might be along the same lines as this but the end game screen is more broken than just this for me. I can't open player profiles, Sometimes the killers power on the EGS is from a different killer (Ph in game but said Jigsaws baptism on EGS). Also survivor and killer perks don't show up sometimes.
Also this. Since this update....I open DBD, windows blue screen. DBD game gone from steam library. I had to reinstall. No problem.
Endgame ....can't click on people's profiles. Trying to report someone is useless because I can't see the steam profiles.
Survivor perks do not show at endgame screen. Only happens rarely but enough for me to notice that those players did not play without any build and that its a bug.
Killer perks do not show at endgame screen. Happened once while I was playing killer last night. My perks didn't show.
Playing survivor and some killer perks don't show, it also shows playing as another killer. Like you play with a Trapper and the endgame screen shows playing with the Legtion.
-
Is it really taken out or just a bug? If its a feature this is just bad.
-
I can't click on any profiles in end game lobby. Is this a bug or some kind of new feature? Devs?
-
Noed and thats about it. Rancor? Well the obsession can see the killer aura each time a gen is completed so if the survivor has little bit of perk experience he will know the killer is using rancor. Blood Warden? Almost every survivor now just 99s the gen to avoid it and most killers don't use because of the 99 gate open.

I can confirm this, as I was getting progress for getting grabbed off totems as a survivor. Does not appear to count if they hit you to down you while cleansing the totem, but being pulled off the totem by the Deathslinger harpoon does appear to count.
I tried last night to make progress towards the achievement playing as Deathslinger. I interrupted 2 survivors with the harpoon but it did not count.
-
I agree with people saying that this was done against a level 15 baby killer with lack of gameplay experience. You can't expect a fairly new player to stop the gen rush against high ranking swf. This seems a self promoting video thread to get more views.
It happens vs red ranking killers but lets not make this a huge problem because its doesn't happen every game. Some killers will just play for fun with a low tier killer and will go against a try hard swf squad.
The problem is matchmaking which places experienced players to go against inexperienced players.

Since this came back alive.

I been searching for a suggestion like this and a bit disappointing that no one commented on this. I was about to make the same suggestion as addition to the game. And this could also turn into something more fun for all players.
These statistics would have to be overall - for all killers and then for each killer you played. Same for survivor, statistics for all survivors played and then for each survivor.
Killer statistics: (overall and last ten or five matches)
- Maps played on (show how many times you played a certain map)
- Most used perks. (just for overall statistics)
- Chase statistics - chases initiated (10) , chases won(6 - 60%), chases lost (4 - 40%), longest chase, shortest chase.
- Broken pallets.
- Sacrifices per game. Kills on maps played.
- Escapes per game. Escapes on maps played.
- Moris
- Hits.
- Grabs.
- Specific killer statistics: Trapper - trapped survivors, Wraith - unlock and hit survivors, Hillbilly & Leatherface - chainsawed survivors, Myers and Ghostface - stalked survivors, etc.
- You get the point by now.
Survivors statistics: (overall and last ten or five matches)
- Maps played on same as killer.
- Escapes.
- Hatch escapes.
- Chase statistics - chases initiated (10) , chases won(6 - 60%), chases lost (4 - 40%), longest chase, shortest chase.
- Unhooked survivors
- Generators repaired.
- Item statistics. (keys used, maps, etc)
- Killer blind (how many times)
- Generators repaired.
- Gates open.
- You get the point by now.

Honestly please no.
The Xenomorph is meant to be an unstoppable, terrifying, killing machine.
The last thing we need is that legacy ruined by survivors t-bagging it at the exit gates.
Isn't that what most killers suppose to be? (excluding gf, pig, etc)

No its not for pallet drops only.
First game: (the moment the survivor got hit wasn't in the drop pallet animation)
Second game: (no pallets near the survivor)

The communities I've joined. That's the only reason i'm still playing. Also the only reason i'm going to keep playing. If I didnt' have the friends I made playing this game, and still playing this game - I wouldn't be playing it either. Honestly they are also the only ones keeping the game fun at this point - at least until Resident Evil: Project Resistance comes out.
Which is another thing. There is a possibility with the recent updates to the game, and the direction the game is going. It could be they are getting their money worths out of the game before it dies to the big competition that's just around the corner. Instead of trying to fight a big triple A company head on they are instead just counting, and getting as much coin as they can from the current playerbase. While at the same time catering to cult followings like Entitled Survivors to keep them running afterwards.
That sounds about right. So far I didn't had any issues regarding the game but now it feels like they are trying to cash out. The game isn't going to die because they got a good player base right now but I feel it is going to go down soon™.
For me it started with the way they handled the tome. I got the pass and yet I have to buy a character I won't ever use just to get 4 challenges done. I know that buying the pass is just for the rift but I don't understand why even if I own all 3 character perks I still got to spend 9k shards on a character I don't need.
Yesterday I got the new dlc (which I was gifted) and started to play the new killer. My first two matches have been a total disaster because of a major bug. I couldn't do anything because I was stuck in the chain hook animation and I couldn't DC because I would get banned for that and I don't even want to ruin the match for everyone else because they are not to blame.
Matchmaking (rank 17 killers going vs red ranks and vice versa, solution is to hide the ranks?)
Server ping (Over 150 most matches)
Plus other bugs and focusing on releasing new content instead of fixing game health.
-
This is my first experience playing this killer. Get the dlc - play killer - match1 get bugged - match2 get bugged. Disappointing.

I had the same issue twice in a row. I got the DLC and these have been my experience for the first two matches playing this killer.
It kills the game for the killer if it happens. You basically shot someone and it shows you hit them and you are stuck in the reel animation for the whole match, reel speed walking, etc. But the survivor can run around and do everything normal.
So I had to sit around while survivors do gens and escape because if I DC I would get banned.
First match:
Third picture shows that even after they escape the chain does not break.

Happens to everyone. But don't worry. The "new" mm system will just hide the ranks so you won't have to worry about this anymore.

I agree they could skip a chapter and focus on some bug fixing. People who are in the chapter creation and are devs to be moved at bug fixing if they work like someone mentioned above (bug fixing dep, etc).

Why are we forced to spend shards on a character that we never use to complete the tome? Can you at least consider lowering the shards required based on the owned perks from that character?
@Alonzo said:
So as you may know you can not complete the tome without having certain DLC characters (Spirit, Doc, Jane) as you need to play with these characters.
Some of us already have some perks unlocked from the Shrine for some of these characters. For example I have 2 perks from the Shrine that are Jane's.
With that in mind, I would suggest that if you already have a perk, two or three....the character should cost less shards.
For example: Jane is 9000 shards to buy. I have 2 perks from the Shrine, so I spend 4000 shards on her perks as I don't need the character itself because I won't use it. So now if I have 2 perks bought with shards, the character price should be down from 9000 to 5000 shards.
1 character perk owned - 9000 original character price - 7000 character new price
2 character perk owned - 9000 original character price - 5000 character new price
3 character perk owned - 9000 original character price - 3000 character new price
/discuss.

Question is what do we do with the penalties applied because of game/server fault? I only got it once so its not a big deal for me right now. I can wait 5 minutes out but what happens if it happens twice or three times in a day?
I was playing a killer match yesterday, all good, hook a survivor and move to trap a generator as The Hag. I click M2 to place the trap, it gets stuck in placing trap animation and game does down. Server disconnected.
-
Happen to me last night. Server closed connection on me while I was placing a Hag trap. Got banned 5 minutes. I agree with the DC penalty system so right now as its was a one time only and 5 minutes i'll give it a pass. (plus tonight it will be 24h and the punishment goes back to 5 min again if it happens again which I hope it won't). What I am worried about is players who have these issues more often.
-
Well for me it was my first ban because of server failure. It was 5 minutes and it went very fast. It hasn't happen again and hope that it won't until it reaches the 24h limit so that my next ban time won't increase in case of another Ban By Server situation.
-
I just got the same thing while playing The Hag and placing a trap. Server died on me and I got banned 5 minutes for it. Annoying and disappointing. I got everything recorded but I don't know if it will help with anything.
-
Yeah. Just happen to me. Was placing a Hag trap and server died on me. Not sure what to think about this anymore (the game bug fixes, etc, not the DC penalty).
-
Pretty much makes him useless. Stand still while stalking and power resets if it doesn't reach the next level? Thats just killing Myers. He already starts as a slow killer and takes time to build his power (unless using addons).
-
I'm just saying that if you play by the survivor book, you will get punished hard by these perks. Not every match but most of them.
-
Just remove his chainsaw. I think that chainsaw is too OP. While we at it...lets make Myers slower in tier 3 ...just keep him at tier 1 speed.
I don't understand how people can complain about everything and why mods are not locking such threads.
-
@violetcherries said:
BT and DS in endgame reward the survivor for playing well.
You can't really complain about survivors having tools to escape you facecamping them in endgame.
A killer can play without camping and tunneling and get punished a lot by these perks. You can watch some streamers and see that.
-
They placed everyone from red ranks, etc to green ranks to make matchmaking a bit better. Eventually the new matchmaking system sounds to be ....all survivors in the same pot (or two) and same for killers. So killers that are now red ranks will go against survivors without taking into consideration the rank group. And this is how it is right now just with a longer queue. A rank 2 killer gets survivors rank 10, 16, 8, 4 and not swf. Or a rank 10 killer gets rank 2, 4, 6, 8 survivors.
The only way I can think of fixing the queues are to give players incentives to play more killer.
-
You gonna love for the people perk in combination with BT and DS.
-
124 of 143. The ones I don't have are licensed characters DLC related. I did manage to get The Pig - I want to play a game and The Cannibal - Butcherin'. I got those by using splinter offerings.
-
Survivors don't know how to tale a loss. If a killer is good they scream nerf and so on. How about you just play to enjoy the game. You don't have to escape all matches to make it a good game and have fun. You don't even have to pip. But I guess most of survivors just want to trash out every good killer to make it a ez game. Just rush the gens if you encounter Freddy. I got 50/50 playing survivor and killer and I don't find much to cry about, if I lose a match as a killer then good for the survivors, well played by them. If I get camped as a survivor or lose the chases quickly and finish the match in 4 minutes and depip...again...well played by the for the killer. He wanted his kills and will do anything to get them which is a killer objective.
-
No its not. Too many times DC'ers ruined not only my game but everyone else's game. No thanks. DC penalty is a good thing.

That almost hit my screen. Good thing survivor hitboxes are so big.
Realistically speaking. How hard would it be to make the hitboxes fit the survivors? I know this isn't intented to be a precise aim game but this is too much. Might aswell put the capsule on the survivors and let them see it in game.
I know that some survivors are bigger and some are smaller but maybe we should ask the community, make a poll about it and see what the community thinks on this. Explain what the consequences, etc.

This was from the old system but I don't know if they changed it.

Alright then...... But in the original post is my dc justified?
The game was litteraly unplayable for everyone involved
Somehow I don't think that everyone had the same bad ping. And it doesn't happen often. I am not sure what the ban times are (there used to be a thread explaining the times) but I am assuming it wasn't that long as you again I assume don't usually DC.
Its not a perfect system but without it we had players rage quitting and leaving the game A LOT. Which ruined the game for EVERYONE else. If I have a bad ping (which I rarely had on dedicated servers) I sit it out. If I am a survivor the killer can kill me and I move on to the next match. If I am a killer the survivors do the gens and exit.

So....even mori spamming doesn't give you a justified reason to DC? Being body blocked in a corner with no way to escape isn't justifiable?
Suck it up and move on. It doesn't happen in every match and its not a reason to DC and ruin the game for everyone else. If a killer does that it means a lot of time wasted that actually helps your teammates. So try to think it without being selfish.
-
No thank you. Keep the DC bans. Too many players rage quit because of silly things. If you don't enjoy the game...play something else. The game is not perfect and its not going to be how everyone wants it to be. Just enjoy it or move on to something better.
-
I know you can finish the rift and reach tier 70 without even doing any challenges but this isn't about the rift. Its about the tome.
The problem is that the challenge includes a memory and as mentioned above 9k shards for a character that you don't want or need when you already have all the perks bought from the shrine?
You already spend 6k on the perks, does it make sense to spend 9k for memory challenge to complete the tome? Or in general.
-
It just seems the right thing to do for everyone to complete the tome without buying any characters. Like I said, I understand the using the perks and spending shards on perks but on characters that you don't use?
For example Head On is now on the Shrine to allow players to complete the Head On challenge which is great. But to complete the "play with X character" you need to pay 9k shards for a character that you may already have all the perks from the Shrine.
-
Because some people don't want all the perks and just get what they can from the Shrine. And some people don't want the character as they don't play with it.
-
If you want to get the character alone and you already have the 3 perks, you would still have to pay another 3000.
-
The rift can be finished without any DLCs but the tome can not. There is another discussion about this in another thread. I get it to use certain perks that are in the SoS but owning characters that you don't even play to complete the tome. Sad.

I don't think that more bps would solve the problem.
Imo, you get them anyways already fast enough. It is hard for me to remember on my newbie time in dbd, but if I just think on what I see if I level a prestige level up, or a new killer, -then I got an idea what would be especially bad for really beginners:
-Killers start like survivors without a full perk set. I don't think, this should be changed, but we should also not forget, that this is one of the reasons why you can have a very bad time in dbd.
-The toxicity towards killers can be incredible. While I had by myself never had to cope with people that have "gone to far" in the game, we see in the forums often screenshots from it and comon, who in the world enjoys being insulted? It's obvious that some people left the game if they are getting death threads and so on.
-The swfs depip squads that love to bully killers in the low ranks and not to mention the terrible matchmaking what exist in dbd for... Well I can't even remember when it started to be as it is today.
Would the toxicity go away and the match making fair, I bet - more people would stay in dbd. But I also understand why they didn't change the mm. As crappy as it is, with a fully working mm, the waiting times would maybe increase even longer.
It was more of an idea that there should be a stimulant for players to play killers. The BP was just one example, I don't really know what would actually work to be honest.
-
Make players play killer more. Include more xp or whatever. Right now the queue times are bad because low number of killers. Not enough killers for the number of survivors. So make it that people would like to play killer aswell.
-
And you think that survivors will just be nice and scale accordingly because....humans are nice in general. So killers should let everyone escape otherwise if they kill everyone and someone considers not escaping not having fun....no thanks.

I own everything so it doesnt matter to me but couldn't we get limited time splinters in the web that are only there for the time the tome is open and dont cost 7k BPS.
Then like the last hallows event, disable them in inventory.
They should cost more than 7k to compensate for using a dlc character. I like the idea of splinters and at least opening this just for the event. You spend BP and you don't get stuck with a DLC character that you will never use after doing the challenge.

They are not mandatory. The challenges which require a DLC character can be completely avoided. You do not need to buy them in order to continue through the Tome.
I do understand the criticism, and it is fair, but we either have to limit ourselves to the handful of free characters (which would get stale), or open it up to all the original characters. We do our best to make sure that anything you might need is available while the Rift is active by putting those characters on sale and adding any teachable perks you might need to the shrine for a week.
You can avoid these challenges but you can NOT finish the tome without. I understand spending shards to get certain perks and use them in the challenges but spending shards on characters that you won't ever use again is not ok. Maybe put the characters on shards discount (they are 9000 so anything would be welcomed) or as said above make some splinters or let people use the character 2-3 free times to get the challenge done.
For example I got 2 out of 3 perks of Jane from the Shrine. So I spend 4000 shards already and now if I want to have the tome 100 percent finished, I have to spend another 9000 just to get a challenge done. That's not fair.
