Was Chorus of Sin chapter a win or a failure?

I would love to hear your thoughts.

  • Win in my books but I haven't seen a Judgement for a couple days..

  • Best chapter of this year or at least the second best as All-Kill: Comeback was good one too. This comes from a person who wanted Jason to be added to the game since release of the game and in the end I had more fun to play Judgement than Jason and the patch had less problems than Jason's had.

  • I think it is a win, IF they leave things as is. If they change anything besides bugfixes I think it will make it actively worse

  • it's a failure since on release you didn't see many judgements unlike most other killer releases

  • For an original chapter, I'd say it's done very well

  • I haven't liked a chapter on both sides since Springtrap, so I'd say this is a win.

  • awful and killer is buns to play against lol they just sit in the middle of the map and youre just dodgin beams and getting back on the gen rinse repeat until the gates are powered. the devs were smoking fent when they conjured this stink up. actually just a stupid design whole discord been saying they hope they just remove her and start over

I see too many of them. At least 4 last night literally all doing the exact same thing. Avoiding any form of chase, sniping gens every 6 seconds and running 4 aura perk builds copied from their favorite content creators.

  • Easily my favorite chapter since All Things Wicked. Judgement is easily my favorite killer and while Aurora wasn't my preferred choice for survivor I can't deny she fits the chapter very very well and both got terrific voice acting.

I wish the survivor perks were a little better if anything that would be my one knock against it is they're a bit weak.

  • I have enjoyed playing against the Judgement as survivor. I like the mind-game and guessing aspect of it, and the fact that this killer requires a lot of skill to play well. I’d say it’s a win.

    ???

A killer with a high skill floor will always be rarer than your average pubstompers that anyone's grandma can pick up. Judgment being uncommon isn't a sign of failure.

it is a sign of failure because it means compared to other popular releases like jason kaneki springtrap and even krasue she falls short

  • One of the better recent original chapters imo, but that's mostly down to the unique and fun to verse Killer. Judgement can be a little tedious to face if they have Ruin/Undying and excessive aura reading, but at least they are a bit different and I enjoy going up against them. But I don't care for the new Survivor or her perks (only seen her twice and I've never seen her perks, so I don't think I'm alone in this).

I'm not sold on the idea of getting the community involved in the design, tbh. That aspect felt like kind of a fake gimmick to me, as if the chapter would have turned out pretty much the same way even if we'd had nothing to do with it. So I'm content for BHVR to do whatever they want in future and to leave us out of it. All it did was cause division in the player base.

  • win

Perk changes were great and mmr reset breathed some fresh air into my games .

  • I'm enjoying it overall but I have to say I'm pretty disappointed in the lack of people playing her. Like, why have I seen more Pigs? Who the heck is playing Pig?

Two be fair, we barely get original Chapters nowadays. Which is a bit sad. The last original Chapter before this was the one with Krasue and being better than that is a really low bar.

But I don't care for the new Survivor or her perks (only seen her twice and I've never seen her perks, so I don't think I'm alone in this).

You are right, she seems to be pretty unpopular. According to nightlight her pickrate is quite high, but who knows how much of this is due to Adepts or simply because she is new. Because I dont see her at all in my games. Which begs the question why people even voted for her when they are not playing her… Because lets be real, the second vote (after the attractive female Survivor won) was just between the current design and the other one and all who for some reason dont want an attractive female Survivor (because imagine we get characters people actually want to play xD) voted for her. Just to not play her.

And well, her Perks are garbage.

I 100% agree with that. It did not really add anything. People who did not vote for the winning choices were unhappy and even the winning choices got changed. As I said before, for Aurora the Devs even did a second vote instead of going for the winning design. Which makes me question if there was really a choice. Apparently Judgment also should have a different power (Many people expected a vertical beam and not a horizontal beam). And the Perks also got changed, Steadfast is a completely different Perk than what was voted for (granted, the original idea for Steadfast was horribly bad and even worse than the current design (which is also bad)).

    @Topic:

For me it is a Flop. I dont like to play as the new Killer and I dont like to play against the new Killer. The Survivor is easily my least favourite Survivor, between her not really being visually appealing, her being super loud (super loud breathing even when idle) and her stupid voicelines… Nah. None of the 6 Perks are Perks which I actually would use.

But I am happy that others enjoy the Chapter and from this Thread at least it seems like it is received positive. But it was certainly not for me.

So you'd call Kaneki a success? Despite the fact that most Survs still loathe him? Would you consider killers like Artist and (current) Unknown failures because they're not in the Top 5 most picked Killers?

In a game with 40+ killers, having a killer like Judgment that is almost entirely unique and has a stupid high skill floor and ceiling is in my book, a total success. If popularity dictated success we'd ONLY have dash-slop.

yes i do. high pickrate means popular/effective and as far as i know arist and unknown have abysmal pick rates so yes

she's b tier with all the built in counterplay and all the skill floor does is gatekeep people from playing her also we did have dash slop for a while till people got tired of it and we just swapped to rangeslop instead. idk if we're going to trap killers with how people hated skull merchant unfortunately

  • I like Aurora both in design and perks. Judgement in Adept form is, in my opinion, probably the worst killer in the game. Judgement with Aura Read and Ruin is one of the best.

Thank you for giving me the full green light to disregard your opinion by calling a Killer that can end matches in seconds ACROSS the entire map as "b-tier". Luh mow. Ecks dee.

  • I love it. New demographic survivor. The killer is strong but requires skill and is satisfying to play when you get it right. Perks are interesting, useful but not busted. Lore is kinda cool. Community got a say.

Only downsides are the flavour texts and bios all being written as religious verses (eugh) and the mori it builds to look sooo good and then just fizzles out disappointingly.

Overall though, great chapter. Killer mechanics really are the icing on the cake. I'm immensley glad we didn't have another dashslop or ridiculous overstuffed oppressive easy win machine like jason.

she's extremely aura dependant and you can see the beam from 48m as far as i remember

you can dodge using your eyes and she has directional audio when using her power she's huge and glowing and bad at chasing since she's 110 no mobility and her power requires a 180 flick at close range.

  • I think the chapter without the surrounding "denuvo/mmr/general BHBR buggy stuff" - noise is actually pretty great.

The killer is fun, has a high skill floor AND a high skill ceiling and is original. The killer perks break the cycle of great/mediocre/trash by being actually useable.

The survivor is the first real grandma and a badass one at that. The only thing to really criticize are the mediocre survivor perks.

  • I mean he is really boring to play against. Average the judgemnt trial be like: He has aura perks, and he shoots. the survs play 50/50 to avoid the power.

Aurora I don't mind. She has a funny scream when she gets downed lol.

  • I personally say its a win but i believe its not that much since the community killer got quite rejected. I've seen only 3 Judgement since its release.

And if she fires her power she can do basically nothing but walk until it's reloaded. Neither striking, nor destroying a pallet or picking someone up.

  • W in my book. I love her and the chapter.
