So what happend to 60% killrates?

The devs said they wanted killers to have around a 60% kill rate yet no killer even reachs 57% killrate right now the highest being the nightmare at 56% and the lowest being deathslinger at 41%. So what happend to them wanting killers to have a 60% avrage or was that another lie like the cakes.

  • Are these just your killrates, or…?

  • So is yours below 60? Because mine isn't.

  • Have they released killrates recently?

  • Last Overall Killrate to my knowledge, only top ones but all are over 60%

  • OP asks a normal question regarding the statistics of ALL PLAYERS TOGETHER

Are they, though? Because we don't know what these stats are from.

Night light sense behavior doesnt want to show stats because if they did we could actually call them out on stuff.

Nightlight is a very small sample size of English speaking players (ie it doesn't include a big percentage of the playerbase). It's also voluntary information, so people can pick and choose which games they upload.

Basically, it's not accurate at all.

  • My kill rates aren't that high, they're just not below the goal.

These are the official stats though:

Plenty well above 60. Guess these killers need nerfs.

  • Bro, OP, idk if you're knew or not but like bro, my killrates are over 80%, like I only played like 5 games as killer but jeez bro killer is so ez I don't see the problem. Survivor sided game amirite?

In all seriousness, the A/S tier killers I play are still well over 60% in my experience, but yeah, M1 killers feel ROUGH right now. Definitely NOT 60%, probably not even 50%.

and im sorry until we get actual stat tracking i mane all the stat pick rate kill rate dc rate escape rate im not believing it the devs constantly lie what's stopping them from lying about this its not hard no one can check them and it give survivors ammo to use againt anyone that complains that survivors is the the power role specifically swfs

So you'd rather trust a random website where a small group of users can cherry pick the data they upload? Why is that better? Because it fits your preferred narrative? If anything, excluding DCs means the kill rates are higher than this, since those are usually killer wins.

And why would the devs lie? I know it's hard to believe but not everyone is super biased about a role in a video game and out to get their perceived enemy team with trickery and deception.

  • Nightlight isn't perfect but it's still the biggest sample set we have (tens of thousands of matches per month and a lot of users have a widget that automatically uploads match data) and it's more up to date and transparent than the official dev stat releases. For example the screengrab with Krasue as the top Killer is definitely not reflective of reality because while she had a preposterously high kill rate on release she got nerfed fairly quickly and now is not nearly so powerful (additionally her pickrate plummeted afterward which makes the stats even harder to parse: if only three cracked Krasue mains ever play her and never lose but nobody else touches her because she's so clunky and hard to use in many environments, how strong is she really?). The same is certainly true for Henry.

I'm gonna add that since the whole 'the cake is a lie' debacle I'm even less inclined to trust BHVR for accurate or well-processed data.

Using the (admittedly limited) information we have, the inference is that on average a lot of Killers (or Killer players) are doing worse than expected. This is borne out anecdotally as well. Why this is bears more investigation: I suspect a rotation of maps that are difficult for lower-tier Killers, combined with a very strong Survivor perk meta, the increased proliferation of techs and strats, and the gradual improvement of the average Survivor (it's been 10 years, we're bound to have learned something). I don't know why some people are so upset by the conclusion that some Killers are underperforming and jump to ad hominem attacks when it's suggested.

Because it always feels bias-driven and disingenuous. I've seen a lot of personal KRs amongst friends, not-friends, and forum members. They're always somewhere between 55% at the worst and 90% at the best. It's usually on the higher end. I don't know anyone with a KR in the 40s. You'd have to be throwing to do that bad. And this narrative of the tragic killer player who never wins is a little hard to swallow while I'm staring at the ceiling waiting in a line to play the role.

If the numbers were actually in a bad spot don't you think something would be adjusted? Why would they just let them stay where they don't want them?

Nightlight is not a valid data source

You do realize an unreliable data source is quite literally antithetical to an objectige discussion right?

Nightlight at least give information on thousands of player which is definitely more of a picture of the situation then taking just one player saying they got 80% kill rate.

Its definitely not the best but since it literally the only large sample size thelat we get you have to take it into consideration and can't just say we'll mine or this one person's stats are more reliable then its

  • If you look at a lot of killers on nightlight, you'll see that they experience a large drop in killrate around 9.0.0, which was the fnaf update. This update didn't introduce any new survivor perks but did notably introduce the abandon system.

Ever since then, most abandons have been counted as escapes by nightlight's detection system. This means the killrates there are heavily deflated, which makes them useless for balance discussions.

It doesn’t matter how large the sample size is. If the data are selective self-reporting, then the data are by definition tainted and invalid. People could be only reporting their wins or only reporting their losses. We have no idea.

  • Pretty sure that Nightlight is still counting abandons as escapes, which artificially drags kill rates down.

And BHVR has said that their own stats throw out all games with DCs, which also drags kill rates down.

So all we have are two sets of stats that we know both self-limit to severely underestimate the actual kill rates.

Then there's is no argument to be had because we have no actual data. Your stat or my stats aren't a big enough size to use as a data point. The best we would have is the top 5 the devs release and that data clearly doesn't show the full picture still, where is Nurse, onryo is a top 5 killer could have swore she was c-d tier. Then there 40 or so other killers we have no clue on there kill rates.

night light is a huge sample size of usually better players so we can use that sense its activly updated

So the best way to get an idea of what things look like is to use what we have and make the best observation of the situation. Now if your using nightlight as 100% accurate and saying these are the state period then don't take that seriously.
