Map rework was great. Really consistent now and the add ons are more useful and straight forward.
Haven't used keys but Ill take your word for it

ignore them, this the same person that said that conviction is fine, a perk that punishes the killer for not insta picking and said i should be ignored because is said the old fog viles didn't require any skills because i defend the fact people over blow kankei when it comes to balance
and i actually asked this question myself the moment they nerfed franklin's and i got about the same answers, use scourge hooks, which is really not an answer
but so far from every survivor game i played the answers seems to be TUNNEL THE LIVING HELL OUT OF SOMEONE (usually the weak link )
i literally haven't been playing killer at all something made me and several of my friends just stop with killer since the walking dead DLC, i dunno if the bugs or the fact i no longer can play the game without sweating
this community never changes, how dare u ask how to counter strong perks or items when "XXX" killer exists -_-
Funnily enough, I've said numerous times on here that Clown and Kaneki are annoying. Clown legitimately needs a full rework because there's no way you make what his power is right now fun to face.
But yeah, killer is rough lately. Survivor has been much easier since the new chapter. I don't blame killers sometimes when they tunnel out weak links because going for 8 hooks before killing someone is just not really doable nowadays, especially on M1 killers.

I wasn't talking about high tier Killers either - there are plenty of perks, add-ons and base kit Killer powers that make medkits pointless. High mobility Killers like Blight, Hillbilly, Legion or Kaneki make it nearly impossible to even heal in the first place. Killers like Legion can put Survivors in a state where they need to mend. Killers like Leatherface have one-hit downs that last long enough to down all four Survivors if they're in close proximity to each other. Pinhead is another Killer who makes healing difficult because of his chains.
Perks like Nurse's Calling make healing a calculated risk. No Quarter makes healing even more difficult with continuous skill checks that can put Survivors into the Broken state. Septic Touch makes Survivors blind and exhausted. Leverage reduces healing speed. Those are just the perks directly linked to healing - there are plenty of perks and perk combinations not related to healing that make the concept of healing pointless because of how easy it is for Killers to find you.
Medkits are not and never have been the problem you people are making them out to be. Heck, not even toolboxes are as powerful as you people think they are. Survivors have nothing even remotely good, they only have things that slightly lessen the burden of BHVR horrible decision making.
"I wasn't talking about high tier killers either" then mentions 3 high tiers killers and one of the 2 killers in the game that specialize in injuring.
Nurses calling isn't good unless you have high mobility capitalize on catching someone that close, which isn't great if you're forced to drop chase or they heal on hook. Be real, how many times have you ever seen No Quarter? I had to google what that perk was because I've never seen or heard of a killer running it, it's bad. Septic Touch is horrible, being blind and exhausted for 10 seconds is the definition of useless. Leverage doesn't affect someone healing themselves, which is what makes them so good. None of those perks make healing "pointless". Healing will always have a point except for Infinite Tier 3 Myers and Plague.
There's no way you genuinely believe medkits have never been a problem. Although that "you people" you threw in there tells me all I need to know lol

Sometimes it's difficult for people to remember that the side they play against isn't a collective hivemind. I wouldn't take it personally.
Yeah that was so random lol. People really think players cant play both sides and have opinions about both sides. Idk why my comment got so heavily downvoted

Frankly, you don't need to. This hysteria over a "healing meta" is just stupid - Survivors have always been able to heal. The reason you're seeing more people healing is because of how often Survivors can't even touch a generator because of the insane amount of Killer perks that prevent Survivors from playing. There are plenty of perks and Killer powers that even make healing a pointless endeavor too.
Playing high tier killers or above isn't what I'm talking about, read my post. Yes, obvious Nurse and Blight dont care about medkits

Cool, lmk when this applies to Clown/ Kaneki.
It does? When did I say it didn't?

Leverage or Gift of Pain.
Gift of Pain is great, but it's too reliant on a scourge hook. Sure, I can make a build around it, but it's such a hassle to dedicate 2-3 perk slots for only items when I also have to take into account 16 perks.
Leverage is good against the unhooker healing the survivor, like We'll Make It, but if the unhooked survivor has a medkit then it won't work. Although it's very nice when it comes into play!
-
@PuddleOfBludd said:
Oh, I don’t know, maybe don’t whine to get new items nerfed to the point that they’re unusable… only to now come and complain that everyone is back to using med kits.
Both things can be true. Sorry, but an item shouldn't be able to be used every chase with no drawbacks or limit.

Streetwise does not meet the criteria for a Kill Switch. It sucks to have to say that that plainlyt, as the last thing I want to do is minimize player concerns or frustrations. The team is aware, it's being monitored, but it is not breaking the game.

Respectfully, considering how long it takes to even exploit the bug, it isn't affecting games enough to meet the criteria. I am not discounting the frustration or feedback about how it is being used. However, until it is gamebreaking, it will not receive a Kill Switch. It is a nuclear option.
Extremely tone deaf responses. What are the downsides of disabiling this perk versus keeping it in the game? This should be an extremely easy question to answer and draw a conclusion from after 9 years of development.
-
Bad priorities. Same reason why they haven't kill switched the vials yet
-
@GeneralV said:
It is a dead perk now, certainly. Although I do wonder if the difference is even being felt right now, because Franklin's was barely ever used to begin with.
It was barely used because it was run on a case to case basis. If survivors had 4 medkits then it was a no brainer to run, it wasn't a perk to run every match or if there was like only 1 item. The difference is absolutely being felt
-
@Jacknalls_Paw said:
It's incredible how it took something like three years for these threads to pop up, proving that survivors have been eating crap during this period.
Let's also pretend to forget once again that killers have received buffs in this patch too, between add-ons, base kits and perks.
Survivors have had good patches, but this one is extremely good for them. The only good things killers got was the Pig buff, but even then she's still only like mid tier. Don't pretend any of the buffed killer perks are that good, especially in a vigil meta
-
@Pulsar said:
Franklins was already bad. Both badly designed and badly implemented. It needs a rework, but it's obvious this was a rush change because of Fog Vials.
Strong medkits were always safe to run.
BTL is something I will be watching.
Fog Vials are fine, if inconsistent.
Dragon's Grip and Hubris buffs are nice.
Clown isn't really even worse, imo, he's just somehow even less interactive. Higher Hindered and Haste promotes the stupid playstyle they wanted to get rid of, except now it's his only playstyle.
Franklins was good. The fact that people hated seeing it because it ruined their items attests to that. Also the devs agree that it was good because look at it now
Not with old franklins. Bring 4 medkits and usually it lead to the killer having franklins.
Don't watch it, use it. It's actually insane.
Fog vials would be fine if they didnt recharge, but nope, they have it up every chase
Not in the vigil meta
It's worse. You can't hit certain hits anymore because of purples being horrible. Now every Clown just uses only yellows because why wouldn't they? Idk who at BHVR approved this

I mean, at some point you have to throw a bone to Survivors.
They could give them a whole skeleton and just take Ghoul out back and put him down, but instead we got this
-
You mean like when the map went silent when he teleported? Thats a good thing they fixed that, it shouldnt be doing that in the first place
-
Pinhead. If you miss an M2 then the survivor gets soooo much distance on you since they were holding W the whole time while you were motionless.
-
@Rapid99 said:
There's no universe a human who has even 10 hours on dbd, looks at the franklin's change and goes "Yea this is a buff".
This straight up deletes the only counterplay killers have to strong items in the game.
It's definitely mental gymnastics
-
Clown is screwed. The yellow bottle "buff" and reload buff are nowhere near enough to compensate Clowns purple bottle getting gutted

Specifically speaking for syringes, yes that's entirely true. For base, regular medkits though it has it's upsides.
Base regular medkits still have at least 2 heals. Even more with the buffed built to last. Again, this is assuming the medkit was dropped in a comp corner which won't happen in 99.9% of scenarios, especially when its found out that the killer has franklins
-
@MyNamePete said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3959656#Comment_3959656
Yes I am speaking for such scenario, if a survivor gets hit in a dead zone they risk putting themselves in a bad spot just to get their item while wasting time. If they got hit near an objective, you now have 2 things to guard in one area. (Old Franklins they wouldn't even bother going for their item)
1 survivor wasting some time is the same as 2 survivors wasting a little time.
1 survivor wasting time is NOT the same as 2 survivors wasting time. In 100% of all scenarios, survivors saving their med kits is always worth it since instaheals can break through slowdown and is passive

"The survivors can just go back for it at their leisure" you do realize that's wasting time, right? Running across the map for an item instead of just doing gens?
You're assuming they're running from one corner of the map to the other when that's not usually how the game works. If there's a gen by their item then it's convenient, if the item is by the hook then it's convenient, if another survivor picks it up and uses it then it's convenient. You know what else wastes even more time? Survivors because forced to heal each other because their items don't have anymore charges
-
Without the fear of an item fully depleting, they can just go back for it at their leisure. The time survivors save by healing themselves multiple times heavily outweighs time spent running to their kit
-
Horrible change. That extra 3 percent doesn't come close to Clown's purple bottle getting gutted. Why does BHVR have to nerf something the same time they "buff" something yet Blight and Nurse are still the way that they are?
-
Him being invisible for half a second gets countered by just visibly seeing and hearing the door open, this is far from game breaking
-
Springtrap is fine, it's just that ranged killers have always been a tad boring to play against. Vaults are useless and most pallets are unsafe. If anything, I think his celebrate poster was overnerfed, that add on was extremely fun to see be used.

i'm not being ignorant i'm being literal you didn't kill them they quit and since this is a pvp game bots don't count and would screw up kill rates between players
it's probably this way to get accurate data on balance
You’re being ignorant because you’re trying to force a difference between a concession and a “kill”. If you down the last survivor and they DC, you killed them. Trying to say otherwise is just cope and such a strange hill to die on

yea it's a loss for them but you didn't kill them
There’s no possible way you’re being this ignorant. If someone DCs, then you absolutely killed them. Most DCs happen when someone is about to die anyways lmao

If they left then they conceded the match

The footsteps are still very noticeable and it’s not like the skin turns off the audio for the loud, metal doors shooting open whenever he TPs to you

To say that, you clearly don't play killer.There are situations where you must tunnel if you want to win the match, because playing as a killer is a race against time, because generators are fast and you need to get downs as quickly as possible. But sometimes this is not possible depending on the map you are on and especially the killer, so tunneling is often necessary.
I play plenty of killer. Going for the unhooker has always been more consistent. If they have BT? You lose time. If they have OTR? You lose time? If they have Babysitter? You lose time. If they have DS? You lose time and then make a forum post about second chance perks
-

It's the same logic as "don't want to be slugged? then don't sabotage my hook or make flashlight saves".Tunnel is part of the game, if you don't like it, don't play it. But now putting a broken perk that the killer has no chance of catching the survivor because he had to tunnel is not right.
You never HAVE to tunnel. Just go for the unhooker since they don't have a speedboost lol

I play in SWF mostly so I see a good amount of them whiffing against tricky movement. I'd say at least 60% of the Nemesis we face have a tough time getting to T2. Our teams priority is to make it as hard as possible for them to reach T2. It's pretty easy I must say.
That’s weird since Nemesis can force an action from a survivor

Oh please just admit you only want to face trapper at this point…
I think people just like playing against killers that they can express their skill against. It’s why Hillbilly, Bubba, and Oni are widely considered fun to face
-
@Memesis said:
Why? He's anything but uncounterable. As a p100 nemesis I can promise you that survivors are fully capable of mind gaming and looping me despite my higher-than-average practice with the big guy. I've stated before that his counterplay is no different than huntress with less range and higher movement speed. On top of that, 3 health states?? Zombies are easily destroyed by anyone bringing a flashlight, head on, any means necessary, taking advantage of the weak ai, using lockers, or just wasting weak pallets.
You shouldn’t ever go over 15 seconds in a chase without a hit. The survivors shouldn’t get more than a single loop around a pallet before you put them in a “drop the pallet and get hit or keep running and get hit” situation. Vaults are useless against Nemesis. I will say it was fun as killer to just completely make them obsolete against him, but as survivor it feels so boring. Huntress at least has windup, doesn’t have lingering hit boxes, and is a 110 killer on top of that.
3 health states are irrelevant. I could have 20 health states and still find the killer boring. If I play against a killer that completely negates skill expression, like old Legion, then it’s boring. Winning doesn’t matter at that point, especially after so many hours. Playing as Nemesis is satisfying, but the survivor perspective is super boring to me. -
@rattus210 said:
He also has that "linger/drag" tech with his tentacle where people can move to the left or right side and still get the hit which can feel like BS sometimes lol. This tech is the main issue I'd say I dislike about him. Though I hate his zombies as well, and be all in for a buff to nemesis if it meant getting rid of his zombies.
Yeah that lingering hitbox is super generous. I didn’t even touch on the zombies in my post, but it’s super not fun to be pushed off a gen because of a zombie.
-
@LordGlint said:
Nemesis is slower than survivors while holding his tentacle in tiers 1 and 2, and only reaches survivor speed at tier 3 so... not sure what you meant by barely losing speed.
Getting into Tier 3 isn’t that difficult, you should be in tier 3 after a few minutes. Even though the speed difference isn’t wide, it’s fast enough to pressure the pallet and vault enough to catch up to the survivor once you put your whip away if they were to keep running.

I run Pebble, Lute, Plot Twist, and a variable fourth perk that's often Mirrored Illusion. I'll never get another match again if this goes live.
I doubt you'd get flak from that. Just don't run No Mither and you'll be fine
