He also has that "linger/drag" tech with his tentacle where nemesis can move to the left or right and still get the hit which can feel like BS sometimes lol as there is no visual representation of that even connecting as a hit. This tech is the main issue I'd say I dislike about him. Though I hate his zombies as well, and be all in for a buff to nemesis if it meant getting rid of his zombies.
-
I mean… everyone thought the first iteration of 2v8 was gonna be heavily survivor sided too… and that aged like milk. Maybe wait to try it yourself first before assuming.
-
Just add in game voice chat, maybe in game quick text commands that can be customized and hotkeyed to a button to instantly say something like "I'm being camped", "I'll go for the save", "I have DS" things like that would significantly improve the solo q experience
-
Yes, he can transform into bat form way too fast, and makes him very good for tunneling survivors out. Combine this with that one add on that makes his bat form block window vaults, and he's very strong. You'd think such a strong add on would come with some downsides, but nope. I think he also needs some audio cue for whenever he uses his hellfire move. He makes pretty much no noise when he charges it up. But Nemesis and Pyramid head (Killers that have a similar power) both make very audible and clearly telegraphed movements to warn you that they are using their powers. With Dracula you can barely even tell, and you can't even tell at all if you aren't looking at him.
-
Just add in game voice chat among survivors to bring solo q more up to swf and that's it. Up to bhvr if they wanna add voice chat between survivors and killer in the end game results. But I assume that's where most of the trash talking will happen. But they could always make it an option or something to opt in or out of in game voice chat. Having options is good and everyone wins by picking their preferences.
-
I'm all for a nemesis buff, if it means getting rid of his zombies. I dislike his zombies so much and are such an RNG factor to his power, I rather they not even exist and let the nemesis player show their skill level without having to rely to RNG when it comes to their ability/power.
-
Not really
-
Won't ever happen until you put the devs against a good killer player who tunnels off the rip. So we can have another situation where flash lights got nerfed cause of how easy it was to bully a dev when they were asked to play killer.
-
Heard they were apparently adding a light source that survivors can carry and place down around the map, similar to alien's turrets I'm guessing? But yea idk this mode is just the least exciting/fun out of all the modes they've tried. The horror novelty of DBD wore off for me after hundreds of hours and making the map darker isn't gonna really make it any spookier for me personally.
-
Skull Merchant, but only by a slight margin. They're both terrible killers mechanically for this game.
-
No idea why they decided to buff her and increase her hatchet count, but then not decrease the size of her hatchet hitboxes.
-
It's more common among killers who are playing to win only. So high MMR killers I guess. Just watch people who do winstreaks and you'll see them tunnel very often in order to keep the streak going, as it is the best strategy for killers if they want to win their games.
-
Had this issue as well same map but in a different spot. Cage was right next to a hook just like in the image. Hook was just blocking the way so hooks shouldn't even spawn in this mode.
-
There's a youtuber who is able to consistently get high winstreaks on several killers. Even holds multiple winstreaks world records. Why should killers have corrupt basekit when this player is able to achieve a high winrate despite not having corrupt as basekit?
-
There's players out there who are good enough at killer and can manage to get extremely high winstreaks. Imagine giving them all these perks basekit. They'd pretty much have 0 chance at losing the game anymore.
-
Devs need to find a way to make tunneling way less rewarding, and going for different survivors more rewarding. Such as maybe gaining some kind of boost for not hooking the same survivor twice, and maybe I guess they could make it so if a killer hooks the same survivor twice, other survivors gain a boost in completing gens faster.
-
Yes
-
Don't force yourself to play this game if you don't enjoy it. Just quit and move on, there's plenty of other games out there. Maybe just come back if you'd like once in a while to check how things have changed. And if you actually enjoy the new changes then welcome back!
-
Shouldn't be able to depip at all for both sides. Depipping should be reserved for the ones who choose to DC.

There are no plans to display your rating at the moment. @HugTheHag beat me to it, but there's a lot of people out there who don't want to see their rating because it add more stress to what many people consider a casual game. Ultimately the number doesn't mean a whole lot unless you want it to. Its sole purpose is to give you roughly equal opponents, and showing it by default would put more emphasis on it and encourage people to care about it (even though doing so means harder matches that they may enjoy less).
That said, it's not out of the question for it to be available somewhere someday. There's plenty of people who do want to see it and even try to raise it as much as possible, even if it does mean tougher matches. Different strokes for different folks.
In that case, are there any plans to rework the grade system to allow for easier rank ups? It's another stressful thing to worry about in what is supposed to be a casual game. Especially considering the grade system is irrelevant when it comes to the player's skill rating.
-
I'd like to see something done about tunneling/facecamping first before eruption. It's just such an unfun strategy killers can rely on to sometimes guarantee an easy win. But the worst thing about it is the grade system declaring you should lose a pip for being tunneled. The locker abuse was an unfun strat that bully survivor squads used. Now just gotta figure out a way to discourage killers from tunneling, while also maybe slightly buffing the killer in some other areas. Though they would all have to be looked at individually, since we can't just buff killers in general, and just make nurse stronger than she already is.
-
There's also One Pump Willie who is on a 200+ Winstreak with Onryo, and some smaller streamers who also can get to high winstreaks on killers. But one team of survivors getting a 50+ winstreak? Nope can't have that according to OP. Honestly I've yet to see any survivor team get an extremely high winstreak.
-
Yea a perk that can just do the noise effect with the red bubble on windows without actually vaulting them would be pretty neat. Wouldn't be anything OP either.

Are you getting a penalty when you're getting these crashes?
I didn't actually log back in to check... but it didn't happen during the game so I'm thinking maybe it didn't penalize me? Don't know for sure, and hopefully someone else here can confirm if it does or not.

I did complete the "Halloween rift thingy" and after the match my game got an unknown error. Im not sure if i even got my reward.
Mine just straight up crashes with a unreal engine error dialog box appearing afterwards, not sure if I got my reward either. Haven't logged back in to the game to check. Don't really feel like playing if this is gonna be a common occurrence. Happening to other friends I know as well.
-
Definitely shouldn't be part of the game anymore to depip. Now that Grades don't mean skill. Should be reserved for players who DC. Survivors can't control if they will get tunneled/ facecamped/ or left on hook by bad solo Q teammates. And killers can't control if they're gonna get genrushed. Really flawed system.
-
Gotta keep in mind, not everyone stays to watch how the match ends and say "gg". Especially solo Q players.

When i saw this post i showed it to my boyfriend cause i thought it was hilarious how absolutely bad that killer is, and what do you know he went against him yesterday with his friends lol. He got completely destroyed by them, 3 gens popped on his first hook, and then they got the other 2 really quickly as well, since clown was getting destroyed he started slugging and the only reason he got a 3k was cause my bfs friends weren't running unbreakable. And after facecamping, slugging and hitting, clown still complained calling unbreakable a cancer and calling them sweaty when all they did was spread their repairs while he camped to counter deadlock lol that add on should make it so he can only have 1 bottle at a time. All pink add ons need a negative side effect. That dude is extremely toxic and when survivors do good he gets mad and even calls them cheaters at times, BHVR should look into this imo.
Well at least slugging probably won't be as strong with the new mori update. If the devs even decide to bring it to live, considering the community being strongly against it. So this playstyle probably won't work out as well. But I still see a lot of casual players falling victim to it still even with the update. As for the pinky finger nerf, I think 1 bottle might be too overkill lol... I'd say either 2 bottles or 3, and probably make the reload even slower. Though actually, 1 bottle but slightly faster reloading sounds about right too lol.

Yep, on some of the larger maps I've had three gens pop before I can even find the first survivor.
Both sides have the tools to make the game as unfun as possible for the other side unfortunately. Both gen rushing and facecamping are flaws with the game that need to be addressed for the sake of the game's health. Personally I can't think of any solution to balance it for both sides without reworking the entire game flow.

Pinky finger has no negative side effects? Have you ever played clown before?
My bad, it decreases the bottle count by 2. Not really that big of a deal though.

Unfortunately.

It's pretty funny that survivors can just do whatever they want to tilt the game in their favor. Eyrie of Crows, Garden of Joy, Fractured Cowshed offerings, saboing hooks, high efficiency gen rushing with hyperfocus/brand new part/stakeout, bodyblocking with OTR and BT to keep the killer from going for someone else, exploiting no pick up zones, snap running to infinites on garden of joy, obnoxious flashlight clicking, teabagging, etc but when the killer camps/tunnels to win the game, he's a toxic piece of ######### ruining the game. Like anyone finds it fun at all to play against obnoxious ass 4 man SWFs with Eyrie offerings
No argument that survivors can also bring in their own BS and that maps definitely tend to favor survivors more than killers. But I think we all can agree both sides can be toxic. And it’s just the fault of the game devs not knowing how to balance their own game and create balanced maps.

No thanks. Corrupt Intervention should be base kit instead.
If we were to give killers anything basekit, this seems the most reasonable.

You're welcome to think thats impossible, but others do it all the time. And while i'm not going to use their success to invalidate your failures, i'm also certainly not going to use your failures to invalidate their success. Deadlock doesn't itself guarantee 2 minimum kills, and you're trying to take away a tool that is legitimately one of the only defenses killers really have to gen rushing (especially early game) because killers use it while camping and tunneling, which are problem responses to.... Early game gens being too fast and determining the pace of the game in the first few minutes. You don't even need those two perks to genrush someone enough to prevent a 2 man, and if they truly are facecamping then deadlock does literally nothing if you understand how to rotate gen pressure.
I'll give you a point, since it's definitely not impossible. Granted the survivors got good rng with a survivor sided map (which is the majority of maps anyways) and played it extremely well. But if you gotta play that hard against a person who is just standing next to a hook, is where the issue lies imo. And that's not even counting if the killer brought noed which is another thing that would require time waste from the survivors and aid in securing extra kills with low effort from the killer's side.

I semi-agree with that. The thing with Hatchets is that you can cross-map someone if you're accurate enough and that's something Pinky Finger can't do in a billion years. There are stronger add ons then Pinky Finger that don't have downsides even besides that, and I feel don't really need downsides.
The best thing you could do is just make it not work if you're within 24 meters of a hook, imo. Same with Bubba's Chainsaw or what have you. I don't even like that solution because I feel if you try to bomb the hook you should be punished severely for an unsafe rescue, but I think it';s the best thing you could do to keep the game fun and ultimately it just hampers this one particular add on.
There definitely is other broken add ons, but yea that's an entirely different topic lol. Until the devs can figure out a way to disincentivize hook camping, while also keeping gens at a fair pace, the game will probably always be an unbalanced mess.

YOU are not supposed to be doing all 5 gens while someone is on hook, YOUR TEAM is supposed to. You can only do your own part, but the more people stop lamenting they can't 1v1 and work together, the better survivors do in that situation. By refusing to adapt you literally hold back the ones that do try to punish the killer for it.
Sorry, I'll correct it then. I do not believe it is possible even if the 3 other teammates who aren't being camped, can complete all 5 gens even if they had hyperfocus and hit greats 100% of the time. Since perks like dead lock and no way out buy enough time for the killer to guarantee at minimum 2 kills. But as I said, I could be wrong as I've yet to see anyone attempt to genrush a facecamper with those two perks and manage to get a 3+ man out. Or maybe the survivors are blessed with the best rng spawns of gens/pallets and can manage to get a 3 man out.

Is it? the title states that this says something about the balance of this game, which, i'm not sure if the 'average' survivor group should be what the arbiter of balance is or is not. Even so, im not even entirely sure a group of people all in soloq couldn't beat this.
As far as looping goes: if this is a thread about how Clown needs some balancing adjustments then sure, but what would he get to compensate? he's already an abysmally low tier Killer.
Even though this is mainly about how strong facecamping is. The fact that clown's pinky finger comes with no negative effects is something though. Huntress gets a negative effect if she brings her iri hatchets. Yet clown gets nothing negative about his iri. But no argument that add-on less clown is among the weaker killers.

Maybe on a mid-tier SWF, but even then...with a Clown? No, not even with Iri finger. You'd have to be further up on the tierlist, Artist, maybe Plague, but I think even with Plague you just slam through this, deadlock wouldn't be able to prevent semi-coordinated gens.
On the upper tier of skill Hen's squad basically guarantees maybe one kill from this even if they're perkless and itemless.
It would be great to watch and see if Hen's swf could beat this playstyle perkless/itemless. Especially if it was this specific player honestly. Since they throw a fit whenever they lose in this game. Would feel like well deserved karma lol. If you have to be on Hen's swf level to even have a chance of getting a 3 man out against a effortless killer playstyle like this, speaks for itself though.

Deadlock only gets half its value unless the killer leaves and pressures the gen. If not, it'll be waiting exactly where it left off before getting blocked, which means you just rotate gens. Facecampers don't get to pressure the gen unless its right next to the hook.
Unless you're bringing Hyperfocus and hitting the greats 100% of the time, I do not think the hook timer is long enough to outlast 5 gens. And deadlock shows where the killer should go look around to find the next survivor. But I could be wrong. But gen rushing is an issue people do not enjoy, yet there is no other way to beat this sort of playstyle if you aren't gen rushing.
-
@KhamuraTal said:
Says more about the average competency of people in soloq tbh.
Gonna have to disagree on that. Even if you were in a swf rushing gens to try and get out asap from this, dead lock would pretty much put a stop to your gen rushing, and allow for more time waste for the hooked survivor to die. Then there is no way out to give the killer even more time. So at minimum the killer is pretty much guaranteed 2 kills, which is too much for a playstyle that requires no effort but standing there by a hook imo.
-
@JustAnotherNewbie said:
That is pretty disgusting, not gonna lie. Clown is probably the best face-camper in the game according to this video.
Was an interesting video to watch. Honestly though, if he had brought perks like "dead lock" and "no way out", those two perks would've helped a lot more than the builds he used on most killers and made their face camping game stronger.

@ImNotBobDylan said:
Coincidentally I did the same "strategy" a few months ago:
Facecamping experiment - 36 game win streak
I wish more people would do this and realize how absurdly rewarding it is. These were literally my first games with Nurse (supposedly a hard killer) and yet I won 36 games in a row. To this day, my killrate is 98.8% (2 people escaped out of 164). I won all these games simply by facecamping, slugging and tunneling, and not even good perks equipped.
DBD has by far the most broken balance state I've ever seen out of the any PvP game, and I've played many, many games. If I would get such high kill streak in any other game I would probably get auto-banned for cheating, but this is normal in DBD, in fact when I created my threads some people missed the point of the thread and came to brag that they reached longer streaks.
BHVR gives absolutely 0 ######### about facecamp and other cheap strategies, they think it's easy to counter because they design the game for an organized SWF, not realizing that soloQ lacks the critical information needed to counter it, instead they are going to patch flashlights, rework Moris and anti-cheat etc. because clearly that is the main problem of the game right now.
I did not BM when I did my facecamping streak, but next time I will, as I think it's more in the spirit of DBD in 2022. Maybe once the whole soloQ playerbase has left BHVR will implement some sort of incentive for the killer to not play like a douche, or maybe they'll implement survivor bots instead so killer players can still continue to play and reach the highest streaks ever recorded, idk maybe one day someone manages to reach 1000 win-streaks? that would be neat.
Honestly at this point I'm surprised more people aren't doing this. Easy kills/wins with no effort? Why are killer players even trying so hard to get those wins when they can get them easily with a build and strategy such as this? I hope one day BHVR will address this, but I doubt that'd be anytime soon, considering how long it even takes them to release balancing updates. I think they just can't even think of a way to punish camping anyways without hurting other killers who don't abuse it to this degree. The game itself would probably need an entire rework. Which I don't see happening unless a "dbd 2" was made.

Most likely the killer does it because camping is boring af, and it offers just enough "interactivity" to scratch one's itch.
It certainly doens't scratch mine, but I have to assume it breaks up the monotony of an otherwise dull and unimpressive gameplay loop.
As an aside... the way they say "I see my next victim," in tandem with their behavior, makes me uneasy.
Yea he's mostly doing it to generate "salt" as he said once in another video. He wants the survivors to get mad in the end game chat. So he can tell them stuff like "gg ez" and all that.

Thats not the point. The point is how easy it is for 3 gens to pop in the first <90seconds of the game, and the perk breaking up that burst efficiency.
I get what you mean. But unfun strategies such as these with almost no counter play really gotta go. Facecamping isn't wrong necessarily especially when the killer is in the end game and wants to guarantee a kill. But being able to do so at the start of the match and pretty much guarantee multiple kills with little to no effort is just wrong.

But why do you gotta be such a loser about it? Iri finger and bm.
Just to clarify, I'm not the one playing as killer in the video. Was just a streamer I happened to come across who is on a winstreak doing this strategy.
-
I think the ones who tunnel usually don't care about BP and are just going for the kills to try and win the game. Plus bodyblocking is usually a strat to try and prevent tunneling, so this wouldn't even do anything in cases where teammates are actually trying to help the one getting tunneled.
