Stop try Harding that's the problem. Unless you have to 4K then I don't understand why you're complaining then you're getting what you want competitive players.

Focus more on just 8 hooks and goofing around. Experiment try new things out stop taking the game so seriously and the fun will come back.

buddy read before you reply. OP is a survivor player lmao

Save yourself some time and just skip ahead to "play something else"

M1 bug, where you can't swing out of your power immediately, is MUCCHHH worse, and is the most important issue with her at this time. Doing short blinks to get through objects is much harder and is not successful most of the time. I used to be able to do a short blank looking at the floor to go to the next one and I don't think that's possible anymore. I'm not sure if this was intended as I think there was a mechanic to get you to the other side of an object if the blink was "close enough" but now it seems like you have to fully teleport through it. I suppose the question is, "is this intended or not?"

Overall she feels weirder to play and it's hard to articulate why, but the m1 bug is a big issue right now and it has cost me many hits. It lasts longer it happens more often, so the person you intended to hit almost always gets away, whereas I could compensate for it before.

Have any other Nurse players noticed anything else? Let me know.

"M1 bug, where you can't swing out of your power immediately, is MUCCHHH worse, "

That is not actually a bug. It's just such a crappy, but unfortunately intentional, "balance" mechanic that it seems like a bug to everyone until the record gets set straight. But it's been vetted in the code and discussed for a while. It's definitely on purpose.

Basically, the farther you travel in your blink, the longer there is a delay after you arrive until you can swing. The max I believe is about half a second. So, you just have to get used to waiting after you arrive from your blink to swing.

Since your momentum gets reset after you arrive on a blink, (yes, killers have to consider acceleration, unlike survivors of course), you should already be moving forward for about a quarter second at least anyhow, otherwise your lunge range will be shorter.

As far as moving through things correctly... I wouldn't hold my breath. Same for Blight's collision ever working right.

I'm with you, the whole "Move back & forth" mechanic which throws off auto-aim needs to be fixed. Auto aim shouldn't be a thing b/c it can be abused like this to make what would otherwise be a hit, miss. I'm a console player and it's pretty bad. Survivors don't even need to 360 to force the miss. Sometimes as a survivor you just need to move left to right fast enough and the swing will miss.

There is a reason we call it "auto-miss" lol

Yeah, this update really isn't enticing me to come back.

BHVR has made a string of really bad patches and very public mistakes. I'm interested to see how the next few months look leading up to Anniversary. Ringu could be DOA at this rate.

I'm in the same boat. For now DbD isn't gonna be taking space up on my drives. I occasionally peak at updates or "what they plan" to see things are getting switched up, but I'm definitely not holding my breath.

Even then, if DbD is going to turn this hemorrhage around, they're going to also have to beat VHS to the punch on it at this point.

  • @Tr1nity said:

    No.

DC ruin the game, people will abuse it.

You know what also ruins the game that people are abusing?

    DbD's lack of anti-cheat.

    I don't. Not anymore.

The core concept of Dead Hard, used as it was presumably intended to be used - to dodge one hit - isn't busted or unhealthy. If Dead Hard is to be looked at, I'd suggest tweaking it to disincentivise using it to make distance, via some kind of brief cooldown after using it where you can't interact with pallets and windows.

Right now, the problem with Dead Hard is that the killer's time is at a huge deficit, so extending a chase by using it for distance can be a huge deal. My question is... should it be? Is that how the game should be balanced? Slowing the game down in general would immediately nullify how big of a deal Dead Hard is.

"where you can't interact with pallets and windows."

This honestly would be such a simple way to solve at least 60% of the complaints about it. And it's very, very easy to implement. We know how much BHVR likes lazy solutions.

Still, even if they did it, don't think we'll be seeing it for at least a year. There's better 4v1 games coming out, so the hell with that

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Blight has techs? All I ever experience when I play him is sliding off every single object like it's butter in a chase. I can only use his power to traverse the map, otherwise I'm just throwing.

I still play him, because he's the best killer on console for traversing the map quickly, but using his power in a chase is often a losing gamble. So, my opinion on what Blight needs is consistent, working collision. Unfortunately, every time the devs touch him, his collision has gotten worse.

Ironically it was actually making his collision worse the first time around that allowed him to hug tech like he does now

  • @Wedeguy said:

I see that some people want to have all of Blight's techs to be removed from the game since they were not an intended feature by the devs.

I'm talking about stuff like : Hug tech, Scoot Slide, Moon Rush, High DPI flicks and S/Z flicks. basically all of the fun and technical hard to learn stuff of blight.

What is your opinion of that guys?

From one side, yeah they were not intended and give advantage to the killer.

From the other side, it makes the killer much more hard to learn, fun, rewarding and STRONG.

Do we actually need to nerf more killers in a survivor sided game so just all high MMR games will be against "No game design works against me" Nurses?

Don't forget that all of his techs are counterable if you can realize you're against a good blight and you're expecting him to do them.

From what I gathered BHVR's thing pretty much is "to nerf more killers in a survivor sided game" so I won't be surprised when they do get nerfed

Kind of like how Oni was really strong for a little bit there... Then.. do most people even remember he's in the game anymore?

  • I'm not new myself but I am trying to get my GF into the game. She's kind of new to gaming in general. Add BlahBlah#9452 if you wanna join us some time.

  • They're changing the requirements for this achievement anyhow so that you'll only need to escape with the key by yourself. So I'd just wait a week.

Deathslinger's spear moves at the same speed as a fully charged hatchet, has an infinitely smaller hitbox and now he too has to abide by her rules and spend time ADSing and telegraphing his shot. It's not a matter of "just aim better" now. It is a pinprick shot that is heavily telegraphed, has poor sensitivity in ADS, has travel time, and he only gets one attempt at.

And this. Why, why, why, does a ######### PROJECTILE from a GUN move as fast as someone THROWING a hatchet? I get physics aren't that important in DBD, but given how small the projectile is, it really should be twice as fast.

  • @Altarf said:

They removed almost every strength he had and didn't change a single meaningful one of his debilitating weaknesses, besides a useless speed increase while ADSing - something that makes your shot much easier to dodge. We've gone full circle, and now he really IS just a weaker, less efficient version of Huntress.

I'm definitely on the side of the instant-shot needing to have been removed. But I agree, they definitely should have traded off more for it. For one, there's really just no reason at all he needs to be slowed down. If he has a delay after cancelling, then he just shouldn't lose distance. If anything, it should be a curved slowdown like Clown's reload, so people who are more skilled with his gun are rewarded for it.

And I definitely would have liked to see his chain get buffed. Remove other survivors being able to speed up the breaking. Make the pulling power of it stronger, so weird map geography can't cuck it completely.

  • @anarchy753 said:

I'm as happy as the next person to see the changes to keys and the hatch, but it would be a lie to say this is an all-round positive change.

As a killer, I'm very glad survivors cannot use a key to get multiple people out. It makes them much fairer and much less game-ending. I can safely say I wouldn't feel the need to dodge lobbies with keys because I WILL get to play a full match.

However, the hatch only spawns when one survivor is left. That means that the killer also cannot find the hatch earlier than one survivor remaining. Fairer? Maybe. But get ready to see a LOT more slugging for the 4k, because at least before I could reasonably know where the hatch is most games and judge that I could reach it in time. Now, if I don't want to lose my last kill to cheese, the only option remaining is to leave you on the ground for an extended period of time, and nobody likes that.

That really just comes down more to needing to deal with slugging itself, and de-incentivizing the value of a 4K. I don't think you're going to see any more than before, it's really the same deal. If you slug for the 4K, it's because you're a twat. And if you're a twat, you are and always were going to slug for the 4K.

I'm more worried about getting down to just two highly immersed Claudettes that will spend 45 minutes of "who's going to get caught first" so one of them can get the hatch, which again, is twatty, and basically the survivor equivalent of slugging for the 4K. But just like slugging, I'm not sure how they could fix that.

So just play around it. At least you can rely on the fact that in most new maps, as killer you CAN find hatch because it almost always is higher than the floor.

I just wish I knew what actually made the decision, I upgraded my wifi (wired) hit a 32ping and still get rollback when on my screen I clearly got the hit way before.

Like seriously are the people I'm versing next door to the servers? Feel theres more to it than just connection

Because it's not actually based on your ping at all.

Even if the server sees your hit first, it will still cancel it if it's followed up by a stun.

BVHR just phrased it that way to defer negative feedback. It was a lie -- which, y'know, if that shocks you, let me introduce you to literally a whole google doc of shadow nerfs and false patch information people have been documented. If BHVR thinks something will be to controversial, they just lie about it. I mean, it clearly works so...

  • @GannTM said:

I really don’t want to have to rely on bringing Ruin Undying Pop every single game because that would just get boring. I get games as killer that go way too fast that I have to make moves like tunneling or camping that I just generally am not a fan of doing. SBMM is going to hurt this game BHVR and you better be worried soon before VHS or another competitor starts peaking.

No matter what bHVR does in regards to SBMM or literally anything, I'll still hope and pray a real competitor starts catching some real clout.

BHVR has proved in their entire history that they are not good software developers. From them being sued when they plagiarized another company's game and sold it as an original idea to another publisher (yes, seriously), to every lazy and greedy money milking decision they've made in the 5 years of DbD. The shockingly unprofessional communication they've had with their players, the absolute disgusting lazy and amateur work they've done that makes other developers literally cringe when they peek into their codebase and assets.

BHVR does not deserve the DbD IP. BHVR ideally shouldn't even still be running as a company. They could offer to pay me and I'd still happily leave to play another competing studio's game -- just by sheer probability that studio is almost certainly more ethical and more talented, and going to build a much better game.

A LOT of people I know that play DbD only stick with it because there literally is just no other option right now. I'm not sure there's anything BHVR could do to save DbD from a serious competitor, nor do I think BHVR would even want to, since their vision for DbD is clearly to just milk it as hard as possible until it's dead then move on.

People definitely did ask for it.

That doesn't mean it's a good idea, but people definitely wanted a new matchmaker.

And people also gave way better options. Tofu having the best solution: just add 10 more ranks.

But of course, BHVR is that guy that has to do everything the wrong way until he comes up with the right solution 'on his own', ignoring literally everyone around him that was telling him to do it that way from the very start

Remember when there was a bug where you could hear Spirit's wailing while she was phasing? And how a lot of people were happy that they actually felt as though they could somewhat play against her? And also how it barely affected her performance? Well I feel as though this won't be much different, she still moves at nearly double the speed of survivors at base, I highly doubt her performance will be affected as much as so many people are claiming it will be.

It's funny how people can remember things so different. I remember the overwhelming reaction being Spirit is way too easy that way, and so weak she's basically unplayable.

  • @scorpio42084 said:

Exactly so out of all the killers only 2 can actually compete. I have a feeling if they keep going in the direction they are they are going to kill the game because they're going to run off all the killer players. It's time for them to start showing The Killers some love instead of only focusing on the survivors

usually this sort of "kill the game" talk is laughably hyperbolic, but

It might legit happen at this point. Since the pallet "validation" (i.e. really just a pallet buff) until now, killer is just getting more and more unfun. At this point it just feels like I'm supposed to entertain the survivor players for BHVR, not that I'm actually playing a game or competing against anyone, I'm just an "actor". Well ######### that, unless BHVR is going to send me a check

I've played this game for years, clocked well over 4000 hours, and the last couple of months I just have not been able to bring myself to play. I'm waiting to see what really comes of these "big changes" they're talking about, but the first post so far as been majorly disappointing. I'm giving it until Halloween myself, and if they don't realize how dogshit they've made the killer experience, I'm just giving up on BHVR

Pretty sure when it gets so bad it starts being enough to turn away literal addicts like me, there might actually be a real problem

  • After 5 years it's pretty clear this is just how they do things. They gave us a bunch of nice fancy killer buffs, and the killer job was getting easier and easier until it was as easy as it is. Now it's time to reverse direction. Nerf the best killers, make pallets stronger, add more pallets to maps, buff survivor perks.

This'll go on for 6-12 months until the pendulum swings the other way and killer start getting their wishlist again. Literally been happening that way since the beginning.

BHVR doesn't understand balance, they just understand power crawl.

If you can't tank it then just play survivor the next few months, or don't play at all. Either way, it's pretty clear any amount of criticism goes straight to a brick wall.

its funny how survivors think killers are on this mindset that sprint burst was ever a problem. Only when you could activate it in the past but it does. not. sup;press dmg, DH does

In many ways Sprint Burst actually is way stronger than Dead Hard and for the best teams it usually is meta over DH. The only reason DH is used more is 1) Sprint Burst is useless against Nurse and Dead Hard is basically the only actual counterplay to Nurse ; and 2) Dead Hard is interactive, because you get to press a button before using it, so it feels like you're "doing something" .. hence the confusion with "skill"

  • @GannTM said:

I don’t like Dead Hard either but saying Dead Hard users have no skill is a bit of us vs them, don’t you think?

No, I don't think so at all. I play both sides, with about 4500, at least 1500-2000 of those are survivor.

I can attest from both sides, dead hard requires absolutely no skill. It's literally just "oops I ######### up and got outplayed, let me undo that so the killer has to do it twice"

Don't get me wrong, I'll abuse the ######### out of it as survivor until they remove it -- which I know they won't. And as killer, I just treat dead hard like it's base kit for everyone and deal with it because I have to. It's also not even the top of my list of concerns as far as balance goes.

But honestly it's just a complete joke to me to suggest Dead Hard is anything but an in-game CTRL+Z, no matter which side or perspective you look at it from. The Killer equivalent would be "Every 60 seconds, while looping a survivor, if you make a bad guess and go the wrong way, press E to instantly teleport behind the survivor again"

  • You basically have god mode when you're around a pallet now since June, so there's really nothing to complain about. Just get to a pallet and Wraith can't do jack or #########.

  • They're definitely hot garbage but I'm worried about Hag getting an addon pass, because frankly that almost certainly means saying bye bye to her useful ones like aura reading and invisible trigger
