It´s stupid, how such people can ruin this game for you so easily.

The problem with that statement is that you're assuming they're trying to ruin your game. 99% of the time, they're not. The 1% are just #########. Your enjoyment doesn't factor into their decision-making process any more than their enjoyment factors into yours.

But they still make it boring for us. But I get your point, but maybe, a survivor can get somehow not camped for an entire game. At least one rescue would solve this, but the problem is that the killer can camp you to death.

    #########?

Man, Nurse ignores EVERYTHING, literally everything that there's in the game. She can spam 2 teleports every ######### 6 seconds.

She doesn't need perks nor addons, she can traverse the map, floors, pallets, windows, entire structures. She can cancel the second blink, she can lessen the distance looking to the floor, she can see 360º while blinking, she can do everything.

"But at least I have information of what she is doing"

Bullshit. You don't and it doesn't matter cause she has every single counterplay to your jukes.

The only thing you can do is break line of sight (then have 0 information of what she is doing) and PRAY that she "predicts" wrongly. But again, she have TWO blinks, can use the first to have sight of you and use the second to hit you.

    0 counterplay.

But of course, people don't complain because there's only a dozen of Nurse players, the rest stops learning after so many toxicity that they are exposed by survivors.

I can burn nurse. I can't touch Spirit. Simple as that.

    I'm the Killer.

Everything I do seems to be wrong, so what would you like me to do?

Make sure all 4 Survivors are injured before I can start downing anyone?

Make sure everyone's hook counts get evenly spread?

Make sure I don't chase for more than 10 seconds?

Make sure to run away in a straight 200 meter line after hooking someone?

Make sure to spend my time looking for the hatch while you guys do the gens, that way by the time you're ready, I'll be able to point it out to everyone and we can all escape in time for tea & crumpets on the bayside?

Really. Tell me what would make you happy & satisfied with your gaming experience. I'm the Killer; I'm here for you.

    Help me...

    Help you.

I'm happy if you are happy, buddy. Play the way you want, and don't let those excuses of 'survivors' ruin your games. I'm sorry if we've been rude or something, but the only thing a survivor main like me can do is hope we meet in-game and have a good time.

  • @TGB said:

Just show the buff aura immediately... Don't have it wait until the Survivor gets hit...

As it is right now, it's basically a 5th Perk, to put it as shortly as possible.

    ----

As it is right now, you LEARN that somebody has it by hitting a Survivor and then they glow white... but you're now stuck in place on attack cooldown animation. And that's a huge loss. That's an escaped Survivor, you lost 'em.

And not only that, but you have this on potentially 3 more Survivors, too.

    But maybe not!

    And that's the REAL kicker.

That's why it's a 5th Perk. The only way to counterplay it is to assume they have it. You can't afford to swing at them in order to learn. But, my freaking god, it's TWELVE SECONDS!! I have to ride their buttcheeks for TWELVE SECONDS, just based on the assumption that they are buffed by their rescuer.

But maybe they AREN'T! Maybe the rescuer does NOT have Borrowed Time! But since I have to respect it anyway, then they basically DO have it, now, don't they?

And then for the ultimate "mind games," if you end up testing it and learn that they DO have Borrowed Time... now you kind of assume EVERYONE will have it. But, again, maybe not! Maybe only that ONE guy has it, and unhooked a Surv, and you smacked 'em. And maybe that was going to be the only time anyone was ever Enduranced all game. But, alas, you spent the rest of the game respecting a non-existent buff for TWELVE SECONDS each time just because you really cannot afford not to.

    ....

    UGH. It's just pure misery.

Is this ever talked about??? It seems like a very obvious & glaring issue, to me.

Hey, listen to this, if the killer stays camping the hook for at least half a bar of the victim's health on the hook, borrowed time should then be usable. If not, then there's that.

  • @DwightFairfield said:

DS got a nerf a few patches ago & survivor's movement isn't as free flowing as it used to be, making moving unpredictably a bit more difficult

Those are the only things I could really think of in terms of survivor play

As for killers the past few that have been released have been weaker/buggy. Ruin was also reworked a while ago (I'm not sure when you took a break).

    Those are the major things

    Thank you.

  • @TicTac said:

Almost everyone thinks its not fun when it happens the entire game. But in some situations its the best way to pressure survivor and some killer even find success in facecamping all day. And its clear that avoiding it completely and 12-hooking makes the game a lot harder.

So i would like your ideas to solve this issue all things considered.

For example there could be a point system for hooks. A first hook gives 2 points and every other hook 1 point. One minute on a hook is 1 point, too. If the killer reaches 10 points, all survivor die if they get hooked or remain one minute on the hook (if they are already hooked when the killer reaches 10 points)

Besides your suggestions i would like hear your opinion on other suggestions. Is it too strong for one side? Can it be abused? Is it unfun? Other things?

I'm okay with camping, as long as it's not multiple AND prolonged. If a killer has to camp me or my teammates because they don't have another choice, that's okay. If a killer camps someone because yes, then that's not cool. I'd say survivor's health bar when hooked should go down a bit slower with an increasing effect the longer the camp is. Camping for 30 secs approximately? That's cool. Camping for an entire hook? Then the bar would go down slower, to the point that a survivor each will get themselves rescued at least once. Then, this mechanic thingy would just not work.

  • @NightmareKiller said:

I know millions of survivors are sore losers and stuff, but do they really?

Had a lot of matches in which I kill a survivor and at the end of the game they cope with "S-so what if I died? I stunned you 4 times! HA!".

Is that seriously a victory for survivors? Running from a killer for a few seconds, getting a few pallet stuns, etc is that enough to make survivors pretend they didn't just lose the whole match and got humilliated?

Because I never seen a single killer who had all 4 survivors escape and he coped with "Oh w-well but at least everyone was on death hook!" or "A-at least I kicked 3 gens!".

Sorry you meet survivors like that. I'd just ggwp ya. But, to be fair, hitting a killer with a pallet is an injection of dopamine to my brain.

If you're looking right at a trap, and you know you're looking right at that trap, why would you need something (small game) to remind you that, you are indeed, looking at that trap? Even with tar bottle it's not too difficult to find his traps. In fact with the map reworks many of the better trap spots are gone. If you keep your eyes peeled and literally watch your step, you'll be fine.

I think they were talking about the perk not jumping up when they looked at the trap. But you are right.

Now everyone's got, like, ACTUAL extra abilities, twelve sprints, a weird dab-dash, flying across the map, auto-revives, auto-unhooks, auto-escapes, attack negates, killer ability negates, aura negates, and just a general total disintegration of the game's base mechanics, utterly devolving into this abomination perkfest battle royale game, except one team forgot to bring 3 of their teammates.

    ----

I'm aware that power creep hits every game. But even so, it rarely actually mutates the game into a totally different game. You used to be able to just play your core kit, and the only thing you even had to worry about is a Meg sprint... from Meg.

But now, you have to hesitate on every single little thing. Maybe I can't swing this max range lunge attack, they might dab-dash it and I whiff. Maybe I can't hit this unhooked Survivor, they might have Borrowed. Maybe I can't look in the direction I'm walking, they might have Spine Chill. Maybe I can't leave this guy slugged on the ground for a moment, he might self-revive. It just god damn feels like every little thing is wrong. Like every decision is just trying to cut my losses. I can do this thing and get punished, or that thing and get punished more. Well, I'll do the thing I'm least punished for. But ultimately, I'm just always punished for anything I do.

I know I've made my fair share of threads today, but just holy #########, dude.

Playing Killer in this game... You know what it feels like???

It feels like I'm playing a children's game.

It feels like I'm, like... the teacher.

"Alright, kids! Let's load up some DBD!"

And they all cheer happily, "YAYYYY!" And they all get on.

And I join the game, and I'm BIG BAD SCARY MONSTER!

And the game starts, and I pop out from corners and go RAWR, but in reality, I'm just totally powerless and couldn't harm a fly if I wanted to.

And the kids all go, "AAAAHHH," and most of them don't do anything because they're like 5 years old and probably just picking their nose. But then one of them accidentally hits their left mouse button, and it bonks me on the head with a frying pan and I fall over defeated, with X's for eyes.

And I say, "WOW you did it! You defeated the big scary monster! Ice cream for EVERYONE!"

And they all scream, "YAYYYYY!! ICE CREEAAAAMMM!!!"

And it's the classic happy ending fairy tale story that the kids are accustomed to hearing.

    And everyone's happy.

That's sincerely what I realized DBD is feeling like to me. That is me putting words to it.

Man, you realize killers perks are worse? Whenever one of my teammates gets hooked, I have to choose from faking to avoid BBC, or just keep doing what I was doing. Cleansing totems is painful sometimes, and boring too, but if I don't, there's a possibility of NOED. Maybe I can't use my flashlight because the killer has that ability. There's too much to think as a survivor, and adding the killers power just creates variants of those thoughts.

  • @MigrantTheGreat said:

Are you sure about that? I've been playing DBD for almost 3yrs now and with the current DS I only get hit with it when

    1. I intentionally tunnel (Something I can't even complain about because I deserved to get hit with DS)
    2. Survivor's go out of their way to annoy and harass the killer just to use DS and if they fail to do so the DC
    3. I could literally hook 2 other survivor's and still get punished with DS for "Playing my cards right"

I don't play with obsession perks, so it's easy for me to know if a survivor is carrying DS, and instead of tunneling right of the hook if I'm near, I down the DS user and proceed to chase the rescuer (not counting on BT cause wasn't mentioned), and if they're far, I'm pretty sure I would be in a chase by then. And you don't get 'punished', cause DS doesn't punish tunnelers, just save from being in the hook too often. Most killers tunnel and destroy teams when they realize there's no obsession. Maybe that's where " dS ToO Op anTItuNnel Perk"

I honestly feel that your either talking out of your ass, or you just don't have enough killer expirence to understand how BS DS is

I played killer for about 5 months and I only have been DS like 4 times. It's really easy to avoid and sometimes a wasted perk slot. It seems you are the one who doesn't have enough experience.

  • Really, don't have anything better to do?

How many DS do you see normally? At least half of my matches don't have obsession or DS is not chosen.

  • @clem1710 said:

I've nerver seen so much genrush than these past days. I don't know if it's because console players can't do anything but sitting on a gen, but nearly all the game I has were against genrushers. It seems to be even worse than before and even when I apply pressure, gens fly at a steady pace. It kills all the fun and I really don't think the game can be enjoyable anymore for killers.

So basically, if we don't do gens, they call us mediocre and everything, but if we actually know and do our objectives, that makes us genrushers?

You know, I also have seen a lot of moris, so maybe we got used a fast-paced rhythm and finish the games as soon as possible.

  • Yall don't realize, right?

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR IDEAS HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH TUNNELING.

DS is a perk that prevents someone to be in a hook in a little amount of time. It is also a 1 time perk, so after it is gone, IT IS GONE. Can someone remind me how many times can activate, oh yes, how could I forget, UP TO ONLY 2 TIMES.

  • Not everything is from console players, at least they know how to repair. I've run into PC players that only walked, run when the heartbeat was minimum or just look at the environment.

Yes, 5 seconds when decisive strike hits u and leaves a note that says "I'm at the bar Bro"

DS is a one time thing, killers can abuse, for example, pop goes the weasel, a lot of times if they want.

    Crying for getting stunned?

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1512693#Comment_1512693

If a survivor is capable of working on a gen without the killer immediately interrupting them, then they aren't being tunneled and don't need DS up.

DS is not an antitunnel perk, just a 5 second stun (4 if we count the dropping animation) for dmb killers who literally picked up the same survivor they hooked less than a minute ago.

Can just slug, and only tryhard survivors use unbreakable, cause I haven't seen it in more than 2 weeks.

  • And another DS post.

DS is NOT an antitunnel perk. No one likes to be hooked 2 times in a period of 60 seconds and less people are starting to use it.

Take also into account that the animation of the killer dropping the survivor after being stunned lasts for 1 second, meaning survivors have 4 seconds to make it to a pallet.

  • For me it's weird, I used to have no problem with blinding the killer when they were breaking a pallet or for a rescue but somehow instead of the thing it was before, now the flashlight aims at the right side of my screen.

Except they're not and you just wanna remove viable killers.

Tell counters for spirit if you're so experienced. COME ON, OPEN MY EYES!!!

  • A killer that has an stable counterplay WITH PERKS is a killer that needs a change. Perks like iron will are perks, an addition to a player that makes him more powerful in certain situations. For example, you can outplay a Hillbilly being perkless if you have enough skill, but if you play perkless against a spirit and it has quality headphones or if it slaps you, you are basically dead in less than ten seconds.

Numerous ways. Both run in different directions away and i choose the one with the unhooked guy by accident. Or only the unhooked one runs away and the other guy hides somewhere, so i will follow that one with the stretch marks.

Blood exists, and there's a perk that allows you to see it clearly, but you are right, it has happened to me before.

  • @BaldursGate2 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1422200#Comment_1422200

45% of survivor use it. Stupid survivors that unhook them with BT, you lose sight of the unhooker and have to follow the other one. So, why should i have to wait one minute, because it is a 45% chance he has DS?

Borrowed time only works inside the terror radious, meaning that you have to be nearby for it to work. How can you lose track of the unhooker?!

  • I usually go for the unhooker instead of the hooked. When are we nerfing Freddy?

  • Y'all realized that when Pyramid head cages someone it appears literally in the contrary side of the map? Just have to be there before the survivor is caged and everything is fine.

  • I also have something similar. If a killer 3 gened the last two survivors and instead of chasing them down he just injures them and go back to patrolling, is the game being taken hostage? And if it is, who is taking the game hostage?

    Just a question.

  • I think it would have been better if the devs just decreased hook timer reset instead of changing it. I have tried to use it many times only for the killer to get a free hit as it isn't only sabotaging the hook, but also to predict where is the killer going to hook. The old Sabo came with the price of the time, as you spent a big part of the match running from hook to hook and even with a reduced speed if I remember.

  • I just no u them until they get bored.

  • Only people who used to DOMINATE nurse still 4k with her easily and don't have any problems. Then we HAD people who only 4ked because of the unlimited blinks and perk builds, who don't know how to play her as now she is based on actual skill. The nerf made her a real killer and not an automatic and efficient 4k machine.

  • The only problem I see with doc is that he gets no punishment for using his power and it recharges quickly. For the people that say Trapper or Demogorgon, they basically get punished when using bad their powers or their power doesn't help in chases, for example, Demo gets punished for failing an m2 attack, and Trapper losses a lot of time with his traps, which can be disarmed (sure, it can locate people, but decent survivors will just dissapear).

Doc just uses his power whenever he wants, and various perks even help his power like distressing or the one that increases your terror radius while in a chase, he can locate people whenever he wants to, and close loops very easily. Tell me one killer which its own power gets buffed by using perks.

Edit: Some people say doc has counterplay, but the only counterplay I see is hiding in lockers, which just wastes time, and the perk that allows you not to scream (you can't know what killer will you get so almost no one would run this perk, as it in most cases useless).

  • One last thing, I think it's because he was focusing on vaulting windows and never breaking pallets, so I was always entering and exiting a chase as I stood enough time out of the 'chase' range after getting some distance and then he catching up to me.

    (Silver emblem)

  • @FixDBDPls said:

I dont know how you run the killer for 5 gens and get a silver emblem, makes me wonder...

Believe me, I also don't know why. It's the same when I repair with a teammate (who has prove thyself) 3 gens but only get a silver for objectives.

  • I don't know why people think legion is trash. You just need to know how to play him, controlling when to use the power and when not. And for the add-ons, if you make good combinations, you can literally destroy survivors. I PLAY 90% OF MY GAMES AS LEGION and manged to get to rank 2,aiming for rank 1. Also perks like the one from the nurse that makes survivors more noisy when injured, to know their location.

  • Isn't supposed to be a challenge for the killer to have a 4k? It's considered a win having 3k, and what I have understood from this post is that killers should always have 4k every time survivors commit mistakes. With matchmaking nowadays, maybe there's a good survivor and the other ones are garbage.

Main idea: We won't get always a 4k every time survivors play badly. If it was supposed to be like this, then we would get 4ks at least a 90% of the games.

  • How about Ebony Mori only activates if all 4 survivors have been hooked and keys only allows 1 survivor to escape?

  • I agree, because old Ruin made killers abandon the job of patrolling gens and instead only focused in survivors. If one of the objectives is defend the gens, then they should be able to do both. I also play killer a lot, and the Ruin thing didn't affect me at all.

  • Who said DS was an anti-tunnel perk? It's just a perk, no one likes to get rescued, downed and hooked again in less than a minute. DS gives you an opportunity to do something in the game instead of dying.

  • How about a NOED which is not a totem that only works if there are more than 2 survivors alive when all gens are completed? It would deactivate once the killer makes its second kill(with a penalty if it decides to slug). It should be a compensation perk, not a crutch perk. I heard people saying that, for a killer, 2 kills is a draw, 3 is a win, and 4 is a victory. That way the killer could get at least 2 kills, instead of slugging all the party or having NOED cleansed.

Note: The main idea is that only works when there are more than 2 survivors, and a counter-side if the killer decides not to kill anyone.

  • I think borrowed time should have another way of activate, because I have played against spirits, hags and other killers who can get to the place where you unhooked a guy instantly or remove their terror radius so borrowed time doesn't work. It is really annoying and it should be based on distance, not terror radius.

  • They should try to do something about it in the endgame, because if the killer hooks you, it's practically game over. Some people have deliverance and use it in the endgame, but without decisive strike, it's useless. People only use deliverance if teammates don't or can't come to the rescue, and the killer is camping them. Deliverance itself is useless

  • I think that gens need to be moderately slower and in compensation for that ruin should have a little nerf, because it can last all the match along and normally all 4 survivors would be dead, or it lasts less than one minute and the match vanishes in less than 5 minds. So if gens were slower, killers wouldn't need to use ruin every time in order to get a decent match.

  • The only times I have lost to a Hag is because it used all its freaking traps in the basement. I know Hag is not only useful in camping, but it seems like it.
