######### is this poll lol? The people who do actually do it probably won't admit to it, and the people who don't do it are probably going to say they do just for laughs to skew the poll
That's why it's anonymous.
I'm expecting some to lie but it's still just for an idea.

Have to ask...are you sure about that SWF? It definitely doesn’t look like it at all.
Going by the spam of party invites I got from all of em post game, yeah I'd say so.
-
Don't take it personally when you lose.
If a survivor is playing toxic, ignore them and go to someone else.
Learn when to break off chases for someone else.
Figure out your preferred killers pros and cons on top of the optimal perk build for you. Remember what works for someone else may not work for you.
Treat every game like a learning experience and you'll gradually get better.
I'm in red ranks and have hung out here for a bit. You will win some, you will lose some. That's just the nature of the beast but don't treat a loss or string of losses as a world ending event
-
DbD is arguably at its best state right now. Yeah it has its issuses at times (looking at you servers/ lack thereof on Xbox) but overall, it's a much more healthy game than it was upon release.
I'm looking forward to future tweaks.
Now if only the devs could rework Legion for me (Peanits plz)
-
Doctor is fun to play against and as. If he's chasing you either bait the shock blast early or pre vault a window/ drop a pallet early. If you try to loop him like you would most other killers, he's going to smack you.
All in all, break line of sight and be sure to pre vault or drop pallets early.
-
Honestly I look forward to playing against him. He's one of the few killers that can make me feel a little frightened
-
Killer: Discordance and STBFL
Survivor: Iron Will/ Unbreakable
-
Why are people comparing different games/ communities to DBD? That's the not the point here. More often than not, this community freaking sucks because survivors feel entitled to this and that and killers feel like they're owed 4 kills.
This is why I try to play both sides so I can see both sides of the coin. We all know this community is rough to get into and horrible for new players. How hard is it to NOT play like an ass? Forget about your precious ranks and pips and just play for fun? There's literally zero incentive to hit red ranks; no leaderboards to speak of. What do you gain for raging and being upset if you got outplayed or lost?

Try headphones or adjusting audio.
I love the music, and I have no issues hearing breathing on the other side of a jungle gym mid chase.
I honestly think good headphones are the key. I can find hatch or hear a faint heartbeat and react, but while watching that clip on TV I cant hear anything.
Came to say this. Good pair of headphones help a ton. My girlfriend got me the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 for Christmas this past year and it has helped in all the games I play that rely on sound
-
Nah. On a good killer, Dead Hard only works one time. Once they see you use it mid chase, they will simply bait it out and then put you in the ground.
Hell I'm not even a good killer but that's what I do.

@Emeal_the_Camper @xBEATDOWNSx I think the "player base split" is not really an argument. I also never understood why from BHVR side this came up so often. Until May 2018 they had the highest player average at 16k max, most of 2017 was even close or below 10k. Since May 2019 it is almost constantly above 20k and last month first time reached the 30k average. The queue times I noticed is a problem since Ghostface release in June 2019, and matchmaking / queue times / ranking problems overall increased since the change with 3.2.1 in September. So at a time where roughly double the amount of players were active. This is not a problem of player base, this is a problem of matchmaking and ranking. If you had 1 killer of each rank and 4 survivors of each rank, 100 players would be perfect for good matchmaking and queues. All the other 29.900 players could be playing different modes without problems
So while you do have a point, I'd rather them focus on fixing mechanics in game rather than pulling a PUBG and introducing more modes that are unneeded.

With matchmaking times already very high on some platforms and ranks, adding another game mode or two would only serve to add even more time spent searching for games. Ergo, not really a good idea.

Not just the bias, but I think the other issue with entrusting anything balance-related to players is that most players don't know anywhere near as much about game design as they think they do and would likely make a right mess of things.
Oh without a doubt. Every once in a while you have the diamond in the rough good idea from a player but most times, they're asking for value based buffs for perks that would just break the game.
I'm not saying BHVR is perfect or Dead By Daylight is in its best state but I definitely trust the developers of the game more than I trust some of the players.
-
Trusting the player base to balance things is an awful idea when most have an "us vs them" mentality. You see insane buffs to one side with, at best, nothing done to other.
On top of that, the player base for DBD is small. I'd say less than 250k across ALL platforms. Splitting up the players into different modes wont be a good thing.

But if killers played fair and didn't tunnel it would make said perk pointless. Also killers run devour hope wwhich is a perk they can run ever game as well as rancor
Devour Hope is a Hex perk. High risk, high reward. Do bones
-
I've had it activate one time in my matches before I hit P1 on Haddonfield. Those long gate walls helped a lot.
Outside of that though, I never ran it again. Prefer the fast reload and faster walking speed while aiming. Those add-ons help a lot more.

Same here. Learn to lead the shots at range and pre aim round corners at jungle gyms and you become a powerhouse.
Speaking of do we have a max range in numbers yet?
Ive been using his ultra rare and got a fair few long range grabs but havent managed to get the oneshot yet
I haven't seen any numbers but my rule of thumb is if they're about a jungle gym length in front of me, I can nab it. Anything more than that I don't bother risking.
Leading that shot and getting that muscle memory down is one of the most important aspects of him. He definitely requires some skill to play and he can be highly effective even in red ranks.

Red rank on Xbox. Have played for three years now.
I've seen the Nurse less than 6 times.

Hit first prestige with Cowboy and red ranks. Never used NoED or camped. His power is pretty good when you use it smartly.
Hardest part is learning the range of the shot but once you get that down, ohhh boy

I have actually thought about Bob once as a joke... he's 130%, but 200 rakes that only effect him spawn... they cannot be removed, if it's Ironworks, 27 are guaranteed to spawn in the infinite. Touching one stuns him, of course.
I needed that laugh. Thank you

My dude. 2k and a DC so three kills.
You got outplayed at the start but managed to turn it around. You did good. Accept the win and move on.

Either The Silence from Doctor Who or Sideshow Bob from Simpsons

Definitely Ghostface or Legion. The amount of 4k's I've gotten with them is actually insane

Jesus, that sounds terrifying..
and yeah, it seems like his perks are mostly built for specific builds. But if you say that dead man’s switch is good for stalling, I should try swapping out PGTW for it...
In my opinion it doesn't mesh well with STBFL because it means you actually have to hook your Obsession but man, it definitely works. Especially if you can run them off a Gen after.

Yeah, the totem one can be very strong in a full totem build, for example.
Haunted Ground + Devour Hope + Retribution is sounding nasty in my head hahaha
-
Dead Man Switch + Freddy + Class Photo Add-on will be incredibly strong. Mark my words. Imagine blocking all generators for 40 seconds after knocking your Obsession then teleporting. 95% of survivors stop working on Gens when they see that blood spew out.
Can't wait to try it.

GL, I'll admit the only perk of his I've tried out is gearhead, and that didn't go so well.
I'm a bit scared to try out his other perks lol, tell me how it goes!
Yeah so DMS is worth it .I managed to stall the game for at least two minutes and managed to get 2kills because of it. When it's down to the last three gens, it becomes to useful. Can see it working very well with Nemisis.
@Oicimau said:
I aways use the 3 original perks of a character until i get his adept. So, their perks have no sinergy with his powers. I think its more about his lore...
Well, two localization perks (gen aura indication) and one Hex with double function, wich aura reading use to be the most effective than the Oblivion status.
What can I say? When I get the adept, i wont touch those perks with him again. Unless for some meme purpose.
Yeah I don't see his 3 perks working very well together but on their own they can be pretty powerful if the situation is correct

That's a good idea for a build actually!
I'm a big fan of running M&A on him, his terror radius is 16 metres while his rifle's range is 18! You can spear 'em before they hear you coming, which is amazing.
BBQ & PGTW also pair well after you've surprise-caught and downed a survivor.
My fourth perk is usually just a random-wild card. Trying STBFL or Nurse's calling for that slot should work really well
Trying out Dead Man's Switch this game. Let's see how that goes hahaha.

@tactic said:
He's a lot of fun to play, a little weak but fortunately most people are still learning how to play against him, so his strength won't matter too much for a while. Hell, I even reached red ranks (for the first time) by just playing him.
Lot of fun, will be interesting to see how he performs when everyone realises how to counter him though.
Oh for sure! That's why I'm trying different perks to see what goes well with him. So far I'm running
Save The Best for Last
BBQ
Thanatophobia
Discordance
I'm thinking I'm swapping BBQ for Nurses Calling once it pops up in the Bloodweb for me

He' definitly fun to play against. He's just trash to play.
I'm having having a great time playing as him. Like all killers, it's just learning his strength and weaknesses. Hell, i just slaughtered a SWF group who were in red rank while I'm hanging out at rank 6.
@NeonAlien said:
He's also fun to play against, except for his tiny/weird terrorradius. I really enjoy the design and sound design of this killer a lot.
I've only gone against him twice today and managed to get away one time though it wasn't easy for sure hahaha

My gamertag is KountFAPula
Good luck to all who enter!

Orrrr just play the round out?
-
1. Billie. A good Billie player can keep a match super varied and interesting
2. Demo. Demo is adorable and very fun to go against.
3. Wraith. Spooky boy is always a coin toss. They're either VERY good or VERY VERY VERY bad.
-
I absolutely love this game. Its one of my favorite games of all time and on par with PUBG and Dark Souls when it comes to how much time I have spent learning the ins and outs.
I definitely have more fun as a killer but sometimes playing as survivor and just messing around with the killer is a blast.

The DLC team is not the team that deals with game changes, so that's not what's happening.
We make opportune changes to reduce the gap when they arise, such as the Kindred buff. But the main thing we do is ask ourselves when putting in new stuff, "Does this widen the gap?" If it does, it won't go in unless there's some great benefit that outweighs that cost. So a lot of our work on this subject goes unnoticed because it's happening behind the scenes.
I really wish I had your level of patience. Some of these users drive me nuts and y'all really deserve more credit for braving these forums and for even responding.
-
Nah. I'm good without MnK on Dead By Daylight. I played various games on PC for years before moving back to console with the 360 and I can definitely say, using a mouse will always be easier than using a stick. Your aim is so so so much better with mouse compared to a stick. It would definitely be an unfair advantage.
Now, if they implemented crossplay between the consoles.. that should have happened. Hell, if they turned it on clear across the board but had an option where you could choose to opt in with PC players or not, that would be even better.

That happened to me today, too (the constant party invites). It was two of them that kept spamming me party invites and I believe they also d/c'ed from the game as well. It's sad, really. I've never seen a player base that's as toxic as this one.
It's honestly almost as bad as Siege's community. I don't get how anyone can let a game get to em like this

Here's one I just had.
I was rank 8 and went up against high red ranks with Extremely crutch and broken perks.
I wouldn't have minded if they didn't try to troll so much with their clicky flashlights, tea bagging and infinite abuse.
Apparently I'm really bad as killer because I played a match as legion and couldn't kill everyone in a few seconds.
Because they got beat they said I was lagswitching. They spammed me party invites for about 10 minutes nonstop until I finally blocked them. Not to mention the expected "trash talk" telling me I'm a baby killer, I got looped for days, I'm bad, I'm dirty etc.
This is one of the many reasons why Xbox needs dedicated servers back up. So pieces of work like this would have no excuse, no valid accusation of cheating to throw at whoever beats them.
I was that mad I only gave 1/5 on 'Did you have fun?' I was fuming. I won even with relatively bad perks though, says a lot about red rank survivors.
Man I'm sorry you had to go through with that post game abuse. I know it sounds lame but I have never gone out of my way to harass a killer/ survivor who has beaten me. I literally do not see the point in it.
They lost and no amount of childish acts can change that.

this has been an issue on all platforms not just Xbox. In fact, it’s been like this for months (Yes even on Xbox).
the reason you may have just started noticing it more is probably because:
1.) You haven’t been in Red ranks very long, this is actually the norm for Red rank survivors.
2.) The Rank reset bug - set people back further so as you quickly made it up to red ranks there were some competitive killers around still.
3.) Killer mains only play to finish the Tome and either stop and switch to survivor or to play something else completely, hence the lack of high rank killers.
Might be a combination of one or more though. I’m leaning more towards killers don’t play as much though.
I mean I do normally float in high purple/ low red but outside I just can't ever remember seeing this main lower rank killers. I really hope j do see higher rank killers tomorrow when I hope on
-
@Zaitsev said:
Its fricked and everyone knows it lmao
Honestly I've never noticed it till today. I've always heard the complaints but man, this is really bad.
-
I main
1. Ghostface
2. Legion
3. Doctor
4. Clown
Once the survivors are in the lobby, I look at what they're bringing and take an educated guess on perk builds off that then change my playstyle to fit that.
"Oh you're bringing all toolboxes and no medkits? Legion it is.
Flashlight, key, and map? The Doctor is ready to see you!"
Sure sometimes it doesn't work out but it's still fun to try to outsmart em even in the lobby.
-
Well on Xbox it is offered for free with a game pass subscription. I've owned my copy since it was released on Xbox how ever long ago.
But one way this game could cater to new players is to swap out a free trial on Killers and Survivors once every month or two. That way if you don't own one and want to see their perks/ just test them out before out right buying em, you can.
-
Because it's honestly nowhere near as bad as the forums and subreddit make it sound.
Just like when I play survivor: you win some and you lose some. It's not the end of the world to get zero or one kill. I play killer because I'm decent at it and my girlfriend loves to watch me play.
Also because Scream is one of my favorite horror movies and it's a dream to play as Ghostface.
-
I hate these strawman arguments.
Dead By Daylight is not only a game of minutes but also a game of mistakes.
One small mistake, misread, or even wrong step can take you from the top to the very bottom. It requires both sides to be focused on the task at hand and to be aware of many different things at once. To me, that's where the fun lies.
But saying survivors have to many second chance perks because a Nancy managed to outplay him/ get very lucky is incredibly silly.
-
Clown or Plague.
A good plague will absolutely ruin your game.
