Multiplayer: PUBG as always
Single player: until dawn, Detroit: becoming human, and patiently awaiting Stray.
-
Been playing survivor more frequently last few months.
Breakout + mettle of man + flashlight + bt/ kindred has been my go to build.
It's fun when it works in my favor though I've never been one to just use meta builds. Gets boring after a while
-
I'm sure it would still be a daunting task to pull off but man, I'd kill for a Thing chapter. There would have to be an insane about of balance to be addressed but the amount of fun...??!?
-
Also Last of Us chapter with Joel as a survivor and a Clicker as the killer. Imagine playing a killer who HAS can only hunt survivors down using sound. Would make the game very tense.
-
THE THING
And if that proves to be too difficult to balance, let us play as a classical Vampire who can turn into mist/ bats/ wolf and have some of their classic abilities.
-
Not in the slightest. Once you take off the rose tinted glasses, old DBD was a mess in more ways than one.
-
Ghostface if only because Scream is my favorite horror movie of all time and I have my torso tattooed with him as well as different characters from the first film.
-
I ran into AFK Pig for the first time today. Happy it'll be gone!
-
On survivor it's probably Mettle of Man paired with WGLF. Figure if I'm taking those hits I might as well get paid for it
-
This is so wrongnits actually funny.
I'm playing on a new account on my ps5. Went from Xbox to PC and now PS5.
On my PS account, I have used actual currency to purchase one survivor (Ash). I have all the survivor perks I really want or need between all of the default available.
For killer, on Xbox I was a Ghostface main but when I switched to PC and PS, I picked up Hag. Still playing here, still doing well enough.
Though I will say I wish we had cross progression

right, its always the killer who is the problem. \\You are right, no one but me complains about 99ing the doors. Yep, its me.
Bro just give it up hahahah. She's 200% correct.

I play such a mix of things. I've restarted another playthrough of Subnautica in the last week, I play Phasmo with a friend on a Friday night, Slashers Keep is my current destress go-to, as I can just play 10 minutes of it or so (don't get a lot of free time). I'm also really fond of story based games and will happily replay The Walking Dead or Until Dawn.
Just started my first ever play through of Until Dawn and am loving how cheesy it is. Have you seen The Quarry?
Also Wendigo killer when?

Halo and call of duty. Or whatever they put on game pass.
Highly recommend Weird West on Gamepass. Game is hard to explain but think of Red Dead mixed with original Fallout but it's a twin stick shooter at the same time
-
Outside of DBD?
PUBG Duos, Diablo 3, Escape from Tarkov, and currently catching up on single player playstation exclusives.
-
Plague for sure. Once everyone's infected and gens start popping, you're able to track the survivors around the map and start spewing that delicious red puke at em.
-
I'm a HUGE horror movie buff. I collect movie memorabilia and even have my entire chest tattooed in honor of my favorite horror movie of all time, Scream.
Being able to play Hide n Seek either as my favorite killer or against him makes me feel like a kid again.
I freaking love DBD.
-
Kindred and Open Hand or WGLF with Prove Thyself
Killer is normally Surge and Sloppy but will sometimes run Ruin and Discordance
-
Daleks/ Cybermen from Doctor Who.
But I would give a testicle for a The Silence/ Weeping Angels to be added.
-
Well originally it was my Xbox Live Gamertag but even before that, when I was in high school waaay back in 2006 I was doing vocals in a local Hardcore band and one of our songs were called "We Write Beatdowns, Not Breakdowns" but for sake of space on our setlists, I would shorten it to xBEATDOWNSx since it also led directly into a cover track we did live (and because I was then and still am straight edge). So I just took the name. I may not use it for my gt anymore but I use it for damn near everything else.
-
Really hope there's little nods to the original movie like a body stuck to a wall by a knife. Maybe the ghost sheet he used in a room. Just little things like that would put it to the next level.
-
The Thing
Blade
I Know What You Did Last Summer killer
-
Game is balanced well all things considered. Is it HEALTHY? No. Not really. But the game is still much more balanced than it ever has been.
Some perks need to be changed on both sides and some killers should be completely nuked and reworked (looking at you Myers and Legion)
Also the community is so damn toxic. This Us vs Them thought process is so damn tiring.
-
Do gens.

You're forgetting that there's always a steep drop of players afterwards once the shiny new thing has run it's course.
Artist Release couldn't even increase the playerbase, people were still dropping off.
License characters will always bring in more players. I'm an idiot and I know this. Why come and play as a wholly original character when I could come in and play as my favorite horror movie monster/ slasher!? Dunno about you but if I never heard of DBD but loved horror movies, I would be more excited for the prospect of playing as Bubba, Myers, Freddy, Ghostface, Pinhead, Samara, Demo (R.I.P) and the like over, say, The Doctor. Come on, think critically here.

Exactly, with how high Resident Evil pushed up the game's numbers, it was bound to drop off eventually.
Exactly. It could have shot the numbers up ten fold and there still would be a big drop off. DBD is late into it's lifespan and isn't exactly welcoming to new players. This will be a trend come second half of the year as well. Just watch.

It's not a doompost, at all.
It's just a trend I'm observing. Currently we are having a spike due to a new DLC dropping, but the last 6 months have been in the red - the longest 'falloff' period in DbD's history. Clearly something is going on.
Jesus Christ, look at last year this time and compare. It's ALMOST identical. As I said above, come the anniversary chapter, the player count will undoubtedly skyrocket then come back down over the months. That's the only trend worth noticing.
The player counts are fine. There's no real alarming drop in players. If anything, it's consistent. You're just cherry picking steamcharts to fit your narrative instead of looking at everything as a whole.
-
I'm so sick of doomposting like this.
46k CURRENT PLAYERS AS OF THIS MOMENT PER STEAMCHARTS
THIS TIME LAST YEAR, DBD WAS AT 35k
Yes, there was a drop off after the ALL TIME HIGH after the Resident Evil Chapter. EVERYONE knew that would happen. New players would flock to check the game out. Some stayed while some long time players left. This is not uncommon in games such as this. Every game as a service model has peaks and valleys. Look at PUBG for a prime example. By no means is DBD "losing players at an alarming rate". As I stated IN A SIMILAR THREAD YESTERDAY, if there was a 15% drop in player base compared to this time last year, sure I would raise an eyebrow but, numbers don't lie. Now I fully expect to see the same thing happen numberwise come join this year. I'll even put money on it.
God damn I hate these forums do much. This community is something else I swear.
-
Haven't played with DS in over a year and I don't miss it 9/10 games.
Yeah every once in a while I wish I had it but I play better without it.
Free yourself from the chains of DS.
-
What.
-
I'm in Kentucky for a week and won't be able to play till mid next week. I'll be looking Otz's stream.
Can't wait for the anniversary stream either.
-
People still insist on these asinine posts and cherry picking steamcharts numbers.
Compare player counts on Steam to this time last year and you'll see that its almost identical to where it was not 12 months ago. Yes, there was a drop after the RE chapter but anyone with half a brain saw that coming. Players were going to flock to check it out, some stayed and some left. It's the nature of the this type of game this far into its life cycle.
Furthermore, this only counts STEAM numbers. There's Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, Stadia, Windows Store, AND Epic Games. So you figure 35k ish on Steam on average the last 30 days. How many do you reckon for the other platforms? As someone who plays mostly on console at the moment, DBD is HUGE on PS and Xbox.
DBD is far far FAR from dead or dying or hemorrhaging players. Now, if suddenly this month there's a 15% drop in player count sure, I'd say something is happening but right now and for the foreseeable future, DBD is fine.

People say that clicky-clicky is bad for those who are photosensitive, however would people with photosensitivity actually play this game. Video games are bad for people with photosensitivity in general. This game is actually horrible for people with photosensitivity because of flashlight blinds, heck even Sadako is basically a epileptic seizure waiting to happen It seems like playing this game with photosensitivity would be about the same as placing your hand in a blender and expecting to not get hurt.
Not to mention The Doctor. I find it really hard to believe people are having seizures off of clicky-clicky and not going against The Doctor.
Extremely photosensitive due to nerve damage in my left eye (thank you deep fryer for exploding in my face!) here and still play games. If I notice a migraine coming on, I turn off whatever I'm playing. I worked 3rd shift FOR YEARS simply because it was easier on my eyes/ head
Sudden bright lights make me so sick so my stomach. Would love if they did something to change the way blinding worked visually.
-
Hit them if they're under hook and they lose collision. Ez fix
-
As someone who plays a ton of board games (mainly Mansions of Madness and Cthulhu: Death May Die), I'M SO IN FOR THIS

I don't think she's fine by any means. She's Top 4 in the game, easily, and yet takes maybe 2 brain cells to rub together in order to work. She shuts down loops with zero effort. There's no skill gap. The skill floor is so low that it's in the core of the Earth and the skill ceiling is maybe about 3 inches higher than that.
Artist is not Top 3, because Spirit is still the third best Killer in the game. Pinhead is nowhere near top tier, despite what the kill rates might tell you. He's a pub stomper, but not to a degree such as Hag and Twins. These killers (Hag/Twins) are nigh unbeatable in regular uncoordinated pubs, but useless at higher levels. Pinhead is really strong in public matches, but against Survivors who can take control of the box easily, he's still functional, but not good enough to really work well.
In terms of Killers I'd like to see buffed or reworked, it's honestly just anyone in the bottom half of the Killers.
I'd like to see Nemesis get a rework which makes him more interactive in chase while also making him stronger, because I feel like he deserves that kind of treatment, given the amount of hype that was built up for years around him. Pyramid Head is similar, but I at least love his faithfulness to the license and how much he felt unique (at least at the time, now that Nemesis exists they feel like echo fighters of each other).
Pig is far too overdue for a rework. She's honestly such a miserable experience and has quite a few problems that affect both sides that became apparent with her tome and the creation of the cursed Video Tape (AFK'ing at boxes mixed with insane amounts of RNG).
You're in luck for Legion, since them and Ghostface are supposedly up next for reworks/buffs. Sorry for being long and ranty.
Hear me out
Nemesis infection gets a rework. At full infection, he's able to Mori survivors and turn them into another AI zombie after a cool down.
I know it can't work but man, imagine.
-
See ya tomorrow!
-
If I go against one more Bubba, I may dive head first into the shallow end of an empty pool.
-
Since no cross progression, I lost all my perks when switching platforms.
So yeah, fun times.

Yeah I almost think she might need to be a Franklins user. Flashlights shut her anti-loop down pretty hard. She can join Hag as a permanent 3 perk killer.
Oh I agree. Same with Wraith and Hag, Franklin's should just come stock standard. Better to have it but not need to ya know?
-
DS/ BT/ kindred in some form should be basekit.
As should Sloppy/ NoED/ Jolt or Corrupt should, in some form, be basekit. Freeing those perks from the blood web would definitely breathe new life into the meta but how to implement the so it's balanced, I have no idea. Maybe NoED has a brief window (say 45 seconds after gens are finished) and DS has a short timer with all the changes it still has (20 seconds but doing certain things cancels it)
I dunno but I do agree that something had to be done for both sides. Seeing the same perks every game is not fun. It's just easier to go into matches on both side and assume what perks your facing until proven wrong.
-
Easy to loop and juke. Flashlight crows to get rid of them (either the ones on your teammates or one she places)
Lockers to quickly lose crows on you.
Break line of sight and when all else fails, hold forward and get away.
I've seen her countless times and have died only one time to her that I can recall and that was all on me.
-
Billy/ Huntress
Neither are interesting to me. I love facing players who are good with them but I don't have it in me to play as em
-
3
Back when I was first bought it on release for my Xbox One. Played for about two months, uninstalled it because it didn't click. Fast forward a year and I'm playing nonstop with the odd break to play PUBG at night with my buddy.
Then another break when I moved in 2020. My internet at my old apartment was horrible. Lived there 3 months before I bought my house.
Most recently took a small break because I started playing DBD on PC but having a Great Dane puppy who can get into EVERYTHING made it hard for me to play. So picked up a PS5 and DBD. Now I'm back to playing daily
-
I love doomposting first thing in the morning.
No. No it's not and not even close.

DS is overrated but BT is a necessity.

I forgot this was an option so I looked up how to do it and switched it. When I feel like it, I'll run some dbd and see how it is. Thanks for the reminder though.
Welcome! When I got mine and tried playing Siege, I had constant issues till I did this change. Let me know if it works for you!
-
Probably be elated. DBD was a horrible, buggy, unbalanced mess at 1.0. People like to complain now but DBD is in such a better state today than upon release

Btw the wifi card on the ps5 still sucks ass.
Router is a room across from mine and to get a stable connection I can't even place it under or behind my tv. It has to be beside it taking up space to get a stable connection.
If you have a dual band router make sure your PS5 is not on 2.4

Pig one from The Book of Saw cause ACAB.
Yes that includes Tapp

Negative

Don't mind SBMM for the most part. The only thing I request is a way to see where we sit in the tiers.
I love seeing everyone post about how their "high MMR matches" but it would be wonderful to see players from both sides get their ego deflated when it's shown that they're not as good as they like to think they are
-
Play on PS5 and console. Largely the same. Just wish actions weren't mapped to one button
