  • Snip to not make post to long lol.

Actually that video alone is not the reason they won't punish camping, They did attempt too at one time in a ptb where the killer being close too the hook caused the survivors time on the hook to get longer and longer so survivors started abusing this by forcing the killer to camp and once the devs got a look at this going on massively in the ptb no less, they shut down that idea and swore to never punish killers for camping cuz any form of punishment would be abused by survivors.

    Just so your informed.

Yeah I read that in another post you made and I agreed with the reasoning, my hope is that they make it way more profitable for teh killer to not have to. That'd be really nice especially against svf groups where the killer gets certain buffs in relation to the premades, better auras against them etc. But not against say some random since they're not in the group/vc.

You could give them an exposed buff similar to the one Shape uses but only against those svf players and make it last longer than 60 seconds. You could also make progression on the hook quicker etc since if you're a group you want to save your friend. The killer could then go break gens and give them a bigger debuff etc while the rescued person gets a slight debuff for x time till healed.

Honestly I don't think it was that bad an idea or that game breaking. Technically, Claudette already has black clothing, and I don't find the new clothes any more OP or game-breaking in the stealth sense of the game then her black jacket. Lets also remember only some maps support a color palette that works for all black, and on other maps a brown/red-brown Claudette blends better actually, ie: Autohaven and Coldwind

This since you never know even with a offering that works for you that 1 or 2 others killer included won't override it and send you to say The mental ward where it's all white. Wearing an all black outfit in an all white area screams free kill this way.

It really depends on time of day, region but for the most part I get very few bm games as killer and I don't camp which probably helps. I'm usually complimented on my play by the survivors and when survivor generally I get complimented as well. I actually get more nasty comments from killers that aced while doing nothing but camping a hooked survivor and then baiting the other 2 randoms into dying.

No offense but you must be low rank. I'm not saying you're bad or anything but only at the low ranks (15-20) do you see Survivors that don't act like #########.

    @powerbats said:
One thing to also consider is when you bm survivors and vice versa that just tilts them for the next game to do the exact same thing and it keeps going from there. Just got aced on a match where the Wraith hook camped survivors on asylum. No one bm'd nor said anything but that's something sure to tilt everyone in their next game. Sadly the 1 gen needed was in center and he ahd 1 survivor down in basement and hatch was down there so we got screwed over.

It's a very simple equation: you act like an ######### to me and I'll act like an ######### to you. The instant I chase a guy and he decides to tea-bag, taunt and all that BS. I WILL camp him. Hard camp him. I don't care if I de-pip and only get one guy. But I will camp and stop you from playing for 2 minutes.

And if you're playing a troll streamer (you know the kind I'm talking about) where the entire team will do whatever it takes to keep that guy alive. Then you better camp them once you get them. Hopefully you're using a chainsaw killer or have EW 3 Myers or have the instant down add-on for the Clown because otherwise they will body block to save the streamer. And this will happen:

Streamer survives: they proclaim how amazing they are and how bad you are as Killer.

Streamer dies: they proclaim how amazing they are and how bad you are as Killer.

If they don't like getting camped then stop acting like #########. Very simple. But I don't think Survivors will ever understand that.

That I can understand and agree with, if someone starts it then that person is fair game at that point. But for the others I prefer to not be a jerk to them 1st since as I said it's a vicious cycle. I've been complimented from both sides for not being a jerk after someone had a bad game prior. I'd trash talked some killers and survivors post game that were douchebags but that's pretty rare.

My biggest issue is BBQ. This one perk has single handedly thrown away stealth for the survivors. You don't see any billies/nurses not running it anymore. Once they get their first hook, they start a chain with this perk that's extremely difficult to break combo'd with their abilities.

incredibly false, 4 seconds does not hinder stealth at all when you can simply Git Gud.

That's assuming you;r either a really experienced player and highly geared as well. Also certain maps and certain killers with said maps make it really difficult to beat. The smaller maps make it especially difficult because you're already in range and if you're trying to heal/gens you're options on which way you're going to go are limited.

Throw in highly mobile killers like the Nurse, Hillbilly, Shape that's at tier III, The Pig, Hag or a very speedy Doctor running around just spamming Electrode.

Killers, please use perks against healing if it's that bothersome.
Nurses calling, thanatophobia, clown perk, distressing or whatever else make a good 4th perk.
Self care takes so long to complete anyway, just leave it.

We already have to use Ruin to counter genrush (and can be destroyed, making us have only 3 perks for the rest of the game, if we're not using other Hex perks)
and Enduring to ""counter"" pallets and DS
and BBQ & Chili so we don't have to camp cause if we do you get too salty (but you also hate if we don't camp cause then we're tunneling or something)
and now we can't even have a free 4th perk slot?!

    @Axlegolas said:
BBQ is not OP, since you are not a nurse or billy. self care is needed badly.

    says the boosted survivor

Most BBQ killers camp anyways once they get someone hooked since odds are they're going up against total randoms anyways and those usually don't know any better. Self care is fine but may'be make it like a gen skills check, fail the skill check or cancel before done it resets to zero.

But asking for a enrf because people use it mostly lower levels who don't have ll the high end ultra very rare perks yet (myself included). There's also the fact that not every group is a svf group and a lot of times especially if the killer is camping you can't get healed.

Go up against a has that has her totems marked and you try and cleanse them you're going to get rekt pretty quickly. The nurse, blinks to it, hillbilly charges that way. The dream you never see coming let alone which way he's heading at you.

  • Wraith is actually really good on maps without lots of easy los or those with a lot of dark mist. There's been several games lately where the Wraith has aced the whole side due to good map combos as well as the super short decloak time perks/addons.

But like any killer he has strengths weaknesses and the map rng either makes him really good or at a disadvantage. You don't want to voer buff him to the point he's like the Doctor on certain maps easy 4 dead in less than 5 mins.

In most of my games so far gens are generally pretty slow unless the players are well geared and or all randoms/low geared. The games generally have the killer downing someone within the 1st few mins. Then sacrificing someone within the 1st 2-3 mins.

For svf they could add a item needed like tool boxes that you can find lying around/parts that have to be gathered to help make them go faster. Similar to the addons that give you faster repair speeds etc. There's been some games that 3 gens get done in less than 4 mins but those are high end geared players and usually the you start with someone else offering.

I need to get in what games you're getting into, because it's really no fun when gens pop left and right, even when you're the survivor. A few games, maybe, of not getting hit is fine. But, going ten games deep with gen rush is kinda boring. LOL.

I should've clarified that's reg games only atm, dealing with some stuff on my end atm. But you have to figure that there's plenty of highly experienced players testing right now. They probably have all the good perks already for them and might even be grouping.

The new map will probably go a little slower until people get it down, but the same still holds true as far as players go.

Personally I don't like it since it rewards campers, especially those with really op perks. If you're going to be able to lock it then have it despawn and respawn someplace completely different. It spawns automatically locked and has a 10 second or so skill check timer to open it. If you fail it or leave it locks it for a longer period of time or despawns again.

As far as those basically saying git gud that's all fine and dandy with svf but with randoms and all the rage quitters on survivor side. The especially bad games where someone gets downed early and simply disconnects. Well now it's 1v3 and the killer has an even bigger advantage and they just need to find and camp 1 survivor and pretty much win from that point.

The survivors are already at a huge disadvantage when it comes to complete randoms against highly geared and experienced killers. Throw in the right maps and some completely new/less experienced players and it's auto 4 sacrifices.

Someone clearly knows nothing at all about what this games original concept and idea was at first...4 randos normally and camping still works 100% as intended from day 1 of the dev diary 3 killers release.

That's actually incorrect and I've followed this game for quite a while. The camping was never intended to be the end all solution to the killers solutions but is merely the end result of current issues. The dev 3 diary may have said camping is ok now but that doesn't change the fact it wasn't what was intended to happen when the game was 1st launched.

If it was they wouldn't be making these qol changes to help the killers with loopers etc, they'd simply leave it as is and let the camping be the only thing the game is about. Get 1 survivor on hook and do nothing but camp 4 randoms or svfr. Instead they're actually trying to make changes to some of the issues plaguing the game.

They'll eventually deal with svf causing most of the issues and increase the chances for killers to have a better chance to not to need to camp.

Hmm do I need to post the video here then so it can be proven that not only was it intended to make survivors come for alturistic saves only to meet the killer head on, but it was also called baiting?

Yes I do agree, inevitably the devs will get some balls of steel and fix some of the reasons killers feel so forced into camping, then we should see less of it. nods

I'm fully aware of the video from another post you linked it in whereas I wasn't before so no need. That still doesn't change what the original way the game was intended. The flaws that got exposed after the game was out long enough made it mandatory to camp which is why that 3rd video came out explaining why they won't punish camping.

Against a full premade svf I totally understand the need to do it, against 4 complete randoms including those with either no gear or very low stuff it's problematic. This is really true on certain maps with certain killers like Lery's since hook one in middle of map with the Doctor with extended Electrode radius and you make it nearly impossible to get the remaining gen done.

I've had maps where 2 gens are within 10-15 yards of each other and there's a huge 30+ ard range of los for the killer and nothing to hide behind. Those are suicidal to go for especially when you're down to 1 or 2 survivors unless a premade, killer on far side of map, or you've got perks to do 1 of them in under 10 secs.

That said I'm really hopeful they'll continue to make it not so oppressive for killers in the future so that while they have the advantage they're not guaranteed an ace every time either against 4 randoms. For svf groups give the killer a buff against them, say for each member of svf the killers aura reading ability is increased or speed against them etc.

The svf can still do well but won't be able to just faceroll the killer either, that way the games more fun for both sides. Since right now randoms are frustrated and killers are deservedly frustrated.

  • My point is just because somethings meta doesn't make it for everyone and not everyone has all the perks out there. That's especially true for the highest tier of those perks so her being the slowest in most games still stands. Now at really high rank that's probably not the case but there's also a lot fewer Claudette's out there compared to the say 10-20 survivor rank games.

Besides the really great killers will always find people on most maps since her darker clothes only really help her on a few maps whereas others it's about as useful as the bright Neon ones.

Well gee lets make her easier to kill since she's the slowest and easiest to catch and down. There's certain maps where's she's basically a free kill if she gets seen even 1x. Gas haven for one, Lery's for another to name just 2. While we're at it lets remove Wraiths almost invis since on a few maps he can't be seen at all until literally right on top of you.

I mean you get BBQ and Nurse perk with Ruin and Claudette is super easy to get even with the darkened clothes, roll pig when you see her and she might as well auto hook herself then.

She's the slowest? Are you high? All the survivors move the same speed what lo

If you're talking about the same default movement speed then yes, but if you add in perks then that's not correct at all.

Tenacity, Urban Evasion, Adrenaline, I could go on and no every survivor in a match is going to have the same perks let alone the fastest movement speed ones. The Claudettes are a perfect example of this and are usually the slowest of them all.

The top 3 survivors by pick always seem to sue 2 of the speed boost perks at the same time making them the fastest. The same is true for quite a few other I've seen 1 or 2 other Claudettes that use 2 speed perks.

Meanwhile the people saying nonsense like this almost always play SWF and stick to DS and Adrenaline and Sprint Burst.

You're lumping everyone in with a huge generalization even though most of the community probably isn't toxic just like most killers aren't. I've hd 15% of my games probably have jerks in them as both survivor and killer. Although 30% if you count all the rage quitters.

Funny because nearly every single time I get a game I play against Survivors who taunt, DC, tea-bag, or talk crap in the post-game chat. Nearly every single time. And if you don't have a private profile on Steam the ######### leave nasty comments on your profile.

So am I really making a "huge generalization" as you put it or is that kind of behavior simply the norm for Survivors? You tell me.

They act as if that actually takes skill which is even more hilarious when they're fully geared out with the highest perks and addons. While you're group of randoms sometimes has none or very few of anything. That's not to say some survivors aren't jerks they are and I've been griefed by a duo queue that got baited into a camper killer and the one specced me and told other where I was at.

While I'd gotten 2 and almost 3 gens going since I recognized the killer was camping the sacrificed person in post game complained I did nothing. The other duo kept following me around making noise, failing skill checks and dropping pallets to lead killer to me. So yes there's jerks on both sides but they're not in every match.

You either have horrible luck or you've just gotten jaded by some bad matches and expect it's bming you're getting. If you're in fact getting this so often then submit a support ticket and ask the devs to take a look. Perhaps you're matchmaking is messed up. I've had my bad games streaks before and it sucks and every game feels like it's rigged when it's going bad but looking back it wasn't.

  • As a Claudette main I run Self Care and Urban since most killers use BBQ and Ruin and on certain maps you have to have those. The self heal is fine since you're still able to be heard, the killer knows you're trying to heal. Someone suggested in another thread however which I agreed with to make it so that if you interrupt the heal/fail the skill check it resets progress to zero.

For Urban it's a must have especially against fast killers, Nurse, Hillbilly, The Shape etc. Without it your fresh meat with a big sign saying free sacrifice here. The sprint ones aren't bad unless you're using 2 together which in that case they should be unique.

  • @SaltyKiller said:

There's only 2 or 3 game companies out there that you totally can't trust even when they put a press release out.

  • Both of those seem like good ideas compared to completely removing them like some killers have suggested.

The only thing they really need to do is just slightly increase the amount of stealth points you get when near a Killer.

The problem with that is that the devs clearly didn't design certain maps with stealth in mind when facing every Killer. For example, good luck trying to get out of the Doctor's terror radius in the Gideon Meat Plant.

Doctor can still only be on one person at a time. Get a proper chaser and he'll crumble.

You've never been on Gideon map when the Doctor has Corroded Electrode and another range extending perk so he not only hits from 30 yards away but also nails people above and below him. I've gotten aced 2x now bya doctor with that op setup on both Gideon and another wider open map. did nothing but walk around on Gideon doing aoe.

The other map did same but camped survivors and went around close enough to hooked survivor to nail anyone trying to rescue but also hitting anyone trying to do remaining gens close to that point.

  • Wait what now, you basically are asking for a freebie win at that point. BBQ&Chili+Exposed+Hex + w/e = game over. I play killers for the challenge not to be given a free win even though killers need some help which the new changes look to add.

  • The problem is that killers are basically asking for freebies again when it comes to certain survivor perks because they don't want to get rid of that perfect perk setup. That's like asking survivors to use only certain perks just in case the killer has something you don't like.

If you hit someone then follow them and listen for the groans of pain, use a different perk or different killer than someone op. There's certain maps that favor that perk while others you're kinda out in the open naked and afraid the killer will see/hear you.

I don't like BBQ & Chili along with Exposed etc so they should just nerf it, along with the super extended range the Doctor gets with certain perks. Does that mean they should be nerfed or does it mean I should play different survivors/perks to counter that?

  • Personally I don't like it since it rewards campers, especially those with really op perks. If you're going to be able to lock it then have it despawn and respawn someplace completely different. • It's fine as it is since it grants exhaustion for 60 seconds, it becomes an issue when combined with another perk of the same type. The Shape fr one can easily catch that person in longer matches and if they have the right perks it's pretty fair.

Something better would be certain maps they get a debuff on or something like that when combined with another of same type.

  • @Steebear said:
It really is not a game of hide and seek in my opinion, I can tell you that the most boring games as killer are where survivors are all immersed and go urbanly evading into cover the moment they hear the heartbeat...it is boring. Chases are fun for both sides and give points to both sides.

The problem is that certain killers and perks make it impossible for chases to be worthwhile anymore. The Doctor and Pig are the 2 who you don't really want to get into a chase with and the Nurse is probably not far behind with hag also.

I play Claudette since I like to be sneaky but I'll also do chases with the killer and see if I can outplay them (not by looping unless no choice). Trying to out do them is fun and occasionally I make a move they don't expect and other times turn into a dead end and kiss my arse goodbye.

But unless and until perks are more balanced for both sides and killers stop camping solo queue matches, especially the really well geared ones survivors will tend to play hide and seek. Which if you think about it is a great idea since you're trying not to get noticed by teh killer, not jump up and make a bunch of noise and say here come chase me.

I've played as killers as well and yes it can be frustrating, especially against svf groups. It's worse with quitters because then it really does become a game of hide and seek because you're screwed mostly.

  • I don't teabag because I feel it's beneath me and childish even if someones being a douche and deserves it. I'm not going to lower myself to their level just to fluff my epeen so to speak. Now as far as taunting someone to get them to leave aka the camper killers that's different, especially the Doctor that sits there doing nothing but use aoe near survivor to nuke anyone even remotely close.

I prefer to us the point or follow taunt to get their attention in order to chase me, except for the pig screw them when I'm Claudette lol.

  • It could be worse you could get camped by a doctor that's got so many perks and addons he hits you with shock from 30+ yards away and get deranked by quitters at same time. Then go to next map and 1 survivor insta quits as soon as killer downs them and derank again.

Now to be serious though, this is just something thy're testing out and will be tweaked to show actual skill before it's released. Just remember that something being tested now doesn't mean it actually makes it to release that way or at all.

  • To the op not all survivors are jerks just like not all killers are campers from the moment they get 1 person down and chain camp them. What is annoying as a survivor is well geared and ranked killers doing that and or dcing as match loads/starts to get rid of rare and ultra rare offerings.

Also don't respond to flamers simply report them and move on saying only gg and only adding more if the chat is friendly. They'll get nailed eventually so don't feed the trolls so to speak.

As for the Doctor, they are the worst on Gideon Meat Packing Plant since if they have the corroded electrode they just walk on either upper or lower floor and spam the treatment every few seconds. Within 10 seconds of match starting he had revealed 2 people and within 25 he had everyone on tier 1 and 2 on tier 2. Within 1 min 3 ppl were on tier 3 and I was on tier 2.

There was 2 people on upper floor with Doctor and 1 other and myself on lower floor. Being stealthy means nothing when he can simply walk around and aoe afk farm you.

  • Funnily enough I actually got it to work 1x on The Shape of all killers by shining it near his chest/chin which is odd since as the killer it's face that seems to blind me. I personally don't like using it that much and also because they hard focus you the moment they see you with it lol.

  • @AlexAnarchy said:

WRONG and apparently YOU DIDN'T READ. Here I bolded the very 1st sentence where it even says not by looping. Before commenting with such an obvious troll response read more closely.

I didn't loop at all, ran in mostly a straight line with a few zags along the way and hopped voer only 2 pallets and never went back. I then proceeded to go through the same spot the killer had been in front of me earlier and went a way the killer wouldn't expect.

Hmmm...your very first sentence says the killer got outplayed by looping, fine, But there is nothing that says you specifically ever looped so forgive me if I would obviously not consider you may be mentioning yourself as the looper.

Before you call me wrong, you may want to actually give proper detail.

My very 1st sentence did in fact say that I wasn't looping at all which is why I bolded it and sorry for the insult. I don't like looping since I feel it's a game breaking mechanic and try and avoid it if at all possible by running in different directions and ways.

The good killers anticipate where you're going to go if you hop a window or drop a pallet and cut the corner.

Hey, you hear that? That's the sound of survivors posting all over the forums that they are stuck in lobbies cuz every killer is stuck in you folks 30 minute - 1 hour ban wait times.

There's plenty of killers playing and there usually is although sometimes there's a slight wait for a killer lobby. Most have either been good killers that know how to play, some are just campers and some are quitters. It is after all f2p weekend so that's to be expected.

The ones getting banned are the ones rage quitting either as the game loads or because 1 person has the really nice perk and gets teh speed boot for a short time. I've had several games where up to 3 other survivors all quit because they either got downed quickly or got suckered into a camping killer situation.

I just had another match where the killer got outplayed not by looping as it was the speedy chainsaw guy but by not running in a straight line for a charge. I lost my Engineers toolbox, the Newly Installed Gear and my 100% for all players in all categories offering. The newly installed gear seemed to bug out since 2x the checkbox didn't come until too late to do it. I made the 1st somehow but the 2nd it was already at end when it came up.

That's 2 times now I've lost ultra rare and rare offerings and addons because the killer either rage quits during loading or right after match starts. When this happens those things should be refunded to the player same for killers so that they're not punished by griefers and trolls. It's hard enough getting those to show up in your bloodweb but having to spend a ton of shards to get them only to see some jack arse screw you over is annoying.

Quotes killer got outplayed by pallet looping then complains that the killer left as if pallet looping was anything skill related., sorry but there's no reason for a killer to stay so you can bully them with teleportation.
Also if you lost your brand new part to a bug, that's not the killers d/cing fault.
I do agree though with being refunded some stuff when it happens at least.

  • I'm not suggesting this for the occasional dc/rage quit but for the extreme abusers as a deterrent. If they know that the ultimate penalty is losing everything they'll stop doing it. League does it the same way and only as a last resort and only for the worst of the worst.

The biggest difference is League is f2p with cosmetic goodies that aren't required whereas here you paid for the base game and any dlc/other things. Because if your behavior causes others to leave and not put money into the game or people not to buy it because a toxic bunch of jerks don't get punished. Then you end up losing more money and less people playing the game.

Again this is a last resort type of punishment for the worst offenders for both rage quitting/dcing but also the racists/violence etc users. They won't change their behavior unless they're faced with the consequences of their actions.

  • ! hour ban might be harsh,e specially if it's a isp/weather issue etc. But if it's a pattern than 1 hour is reasonable if done x times in x amount of gameplay. League handles it really well.

  • Yeah had that happen both ways before and the quiter's on both side during f2p right now is stupid. Had 3 quitters survivor side earlier and just now another survivor quitter game when I'd gotten 2 out of 3 gens going and had 2 more almost done when they bailed. I then spent the next 5-10 minutes trying to survive/get the remaining 2 up then 3rd survivor got nailed.

It didn't help the Trapper sat there and simply camped 1 person and repeatedly let them get rescued only to immediately down and hook them again. I couldn't find the damn hatch after that which is something that hopefully the devs will change and make it more apparent to both the killer and the remaining survivor.

That would introduce quite a few interesting decisions for both sides but to make it fair for the killer it could have a unlock timer say 5-10 seconds. depending on how many gens are left.

It's called, "being a dick hole".

    Flagged for an obvious joke.

    I love this community.

I mentioned in another thread that 95% of the player base is brain dead...that also got flagged :'D

    But it's true.

95% is probably being generous one way or the other.

  • Doctor on meat packing plant is stupidly broken because all he has to do is spam his aoe while walking on the upper floor and he'll nail everyone downstairs and vice versa.

  • League of Legends perma bans only the top 0.1% of the worst accounts and they lose everything from ranked to skins even the super rare ones. That should be implemented here as well since it'd be no different than if it was Steam ban, you lose what you paid for because you broke the rules to often.

It's generally worked quite well since most people won't screw around when they've not only got money for goodies but also what they've paid for their account involved. Money spent plus time spent in game are great deterrents for not being naughty so to speak.

While everyone has their bad days it seems prior to f2p weekend there's been a huge increase in quitters both killers and survivors. If the devs start punishing people with harsher incomes including losing money spent they'll stop doing it.

As long as there's no real penalty that harsh they won't really care since they'll just hop on a smurf account or wait for the penalty timer to decay. The penalty should be like League does which is if you're on a 15 minute timer you have to be in lobby for that entire time.

  • I've played both and unless you're in swf group killers have mostly had the upper hand, especially the good ones and the baddies that camp 1 hooked survivor and never go anywhere after that. Wraiths have been acing whole teams as have pigs and nurses lately. The shape has gotten quite a few aces as well since most of solo queue is either bad survivors and camper killers or some good matches with both sides equally matched.

But lately it's been a flood of rage quitters on both sides for the week prior to f2p week. Killer gets frustrated because you outsmart them and no not talking looping/pallet but actually evading them by doing something unexpected. So they rage quit and you lose out on a lot. Some killers have even waited to see the offering then as the game is loading quit so that rare or better offering gets wasted or right after match starts.

Some survivors do the same they get downed 1st and then quit and it often gets worse form there with 1 or 2 more quitting. So you as the lone survivor quickly get nailed since there's no way to get enough gens done to get the hatch open let alone the gates powered.

If you try and nerf it for 1 tier you're basically screwing all the lower levels over which just starts the complaints stage and frustration all over again. But this time it affects a wider group of players because there's less higher tier players at that stage.

  • Dickish move and probably is considered holding the game hostage type thing. Although some will say otherwise I think it should be bannable or at least make it impossible to do. If you really want to stop that type of stuff then remove basements entirely which is a bad idea but it'd solve the issue.

The other way to solve it is to make basements have 2 entrances similar to Haddonfields basement gen room. It has 2 stair entrances. That'd be much more fair and would completely prevent blocking/camping. You could still technically try and do it but at least there's a possible way to escape.

  • Better option would be able to shard them for x amount of blood shards depending on what it cost to get them since most of us have tons of stuff we'll never use ever. so if you spent 3k on an item get say 30 or x amount back. Since the higher levels can easily farm bloodshards it should be lower the higher you are to prevent inflation w/e.

You also don't want to make it too easy on the lower level players since they'll end up going higher against better geared players without the experience or the perks needed.

I know I would have never picked up this game without the F2P weekends. Multiplayer games just aren't my thing, but a free weekend helped me realize this particular game was something I enjoy. They are a necessary evil, I'd say. One weekend of subpar games for a bigger community in the future.

Like powerbats said though, hackers can/should still be reported.

You realize thay the hackers probably made fresh accounts before playing this for free right? Meaning that you are reportibg an empty account that will be immediately discarded.

Or does steam have something to prevent this?

Steam can still track it and has been able to for quite some time since most of them use the same root install to login into the new account. Same friends on list etc etc.

  • I've run into several wraiths lately and with the exception of 1 where he rage quit at the end because i outplayed him by going ways he didn't expect. They were all aces for the Wraith, if anything it should go ahead Since a good Wraith can and will sneak up right on top of the survivors doing gens and uncloak and nail them.

If they use the invis perk which is supposed to be bad for tehma dn camp a hooked survivor it's even more silly since you can't see the shimmer.

  • The easiest solution is give the killer a buff that only works against swf party members. That way if it's 3 swfs and 1 random the random is treated as normal but the other 3 might have a slight decrease in aura of each other or some other buff to the killer like he can see them from slightly further away.

I've been the killer with a full premade and it's not fun especially when you'ere only a lvl 3 and they're almost completely geared out with ultra very rare and very rare perks and addons. Most have been pretty cool about and but some think they're great because they outdid you.

  • The Pig, especially on certain maps, the Shape for same reasons. The Doctor is even worse on certain maps and probably the most op of all, especially when he has the Corroded Electrode addon giving him 25% more range. On the map with the 2 floors (research facility?) He just walks around the upper floor casting his ability and nails anyone on the lower floor and vice versa.

The Hag when she cmaps a hooked survivor because she just tps around to the 2 closest gens near that hooked survivor meaning you'll never rescue nor get the gens working because she doesn't have to move.

  • Oh I was doing that but it thinks you're afk because you haven't moved far enough which is sad when the killer is camping your general area, especially after camping hooked survivors.

  • @ekto said:
With the new ranking system now in play it's even less bearable, because a huge chunk of the players are stuck at rank 20 with all the F2Ps.

I've been at the 2nd tier countless times about to finally rank and then either get a complete bunch of boob, a killer that camps 1 hooked survivor and the rest either don't realize it or don't care and so killer gets me since I'm only 1 doing gens. There's also the op killers on certain maps especially the higher ranked ones.

  • Depending on the dev and country of origin some are prevented from telling you do to privacy laws what happens to an individual account. With the new privacy changes due to Facebook screw ups it's probably a lot tighter now.

But the really nasty stuff like death threats etc always gets treated much more harshly by game devs. The reports are acted upon, it'd just be nice to occasionally get a notification saying your reports are helping. you won't know which one it was and it won't always come right after you submitted a report.

Thats literally the purpose of crows, you are not meant to hide for ages in the same spot

The problem with that is I had a situation where the killer knew I was close to 1 of the remaining 2 generators and had me confined to a certain area and they wouldn't move hoping i'd move so I kept crouched. I had a crow land on me but fortunately Iwa aware that the killer was a camper so I was able to move away without being seen as they turned.

In my case I was just outside their terror radius but they were the one doing the camping forcing me to do same since they'd camped hooked survivors the entire game and I had no intention of rewarding them with an easy kill while I looked for the hatch or a chance to get 1 of the remaining gens up for last one powered.

  • They're only screwing themselves because they get their Steam acct flagged and if they get flagged enough Steam starts digging deeper since if you hack in 1 game you're probably doing it in others. They'll get acct banned it it's widespread enough and while accounts are free any game they had on that account paid for is toast.

Now granted quite a lot are possibly hacked accounts as well.
