  • I just had to add this little gem since the toxic jerk in question has been in 2 of my games now within the last week I think and has been like this both times. Now granted the Hillbilly did nothing but camp 1 hooked survivor and suckerd 1 victim that didn't know any better. I knew from the start what as up so I did gens only and got Iridescent as well. Altruistic sucks because with camper like that it's impossible to get anything there.

  • @weirdkid5 said:
Careful, if you point out how nasty Survivors are you'll just farm downvotes.

As a survivor main but also Trapper main I hate it when ppl are idiots and are disrespectful for being outplayed. ITts one thing if they camp and you're low/newb/less geared and they have high prestige/gear etc to be frustrated.

    @Immersed_P3_Nea said:
Yeah, a salty survivor told me they reported me for "lag switching" after I killed him. No one else had this issue...sorry mate, not my fault you use a potato for a router and have 300 ping xD

Well I've got great rig and great internet yet had a Doctor earlier that was actually lag switching because game started and no one could move until after he hit 3 people. Once he did that we all were suddenly able to move, use mouse etc. There was several times were he did that and no action was allowed. That stopped once he got to 5 stacks of hex devour and got to auto sacrifice us all. He also had token usage long before he could've gotten it.

It can and does happen but usually it's the lag and I'm surprised the EAC wouldn't kick them at that high ping or anything above 250ish really. Since if mine spikes that high during lobby I get booted after a few seconds for EAC check failure.

  • @Master In most of my games the survivors are suckers for the hooked person. If I notice the killer is a Wraith or Hag I'm pretty sure they're camping and they usually are, the same is true for hillbilly. If I know they're camping I won't bother and I'll try and do gens to punish the killer but when it's 2-3 quick downs and or rage quits it's a free win for the killer at that point.

I had a Wraith camp last night and as the only survivor i couldn't get the 4th gen done to make the hatch open, I'd get close but he'd just chase me down everytime. I actually had 4 wraiths in a row on Crotus and 3 of them all did nothing but camp and all had top of the line perks/addons and 2 had the ultra very rare mori sacrifice all by own hand offering.

Absolutely no skill required and 1 even flamed me post game telling me to git gud homo f*g etc when I called him out on it after he teabagged everyone. The 4th Wraith was really skilled and never camped and still managed to nail us all repeatedly.

  • Again campers get rewarded and usually do it in solo queue where more often than not their facing complete newbs/people with not much experience/gear. These are people that have all the great perks/addons and quite often have well over 500 hours played and prestiged 1 or more times. The issue is SVF groups and that's where the fix needs to happen and perhaps rewarding hooked survivors but only in solo queue and giving killers more incentive to actually go out and chase would fix it it.

As it stands campers and intentional deranked killers are being rewarded for abusing solo queue. If you reward a survivor for being camped they're basically acting as a sacrificial lamb so that hopefully your team does gens. That would be the only reason to reward a camped hooked survivor since as it stand there's no reason to go after a hooked survivor and reward the camper.

This is even more true when facing The Hag who simply marks the ground then goes just far enough away to where she can afk and wait for some sucker and also watch 2-3 gens close to that hook. The Wraith is the same in this case. If you get hooked and camped and your team does gens and you sit there the whole time and be bait perhaps a 500 bonus bloodpoint to say 1k max for dying for the team would be nice.

That last part would be open to interpretation for camping and could easily be griefed by both sides for farming.

  • Simple solution would be that once exit gates are powered 10 minute timer countdown starts. If you don't exit by tehn you get sacrificed and killer wins. The only drawback to this map is when facing high mobility killers and exits gates are really close together which has happened way too often.

The other way is same is above but 10 min timer starts and at 5 mins if gates aren't opened but killer is same as above/gates same a 3rd exit gate spawns with same distance as other too so there's 3 all equally distant from each other so high mobility killer+ exits too close together emans killer can't camp. This seems unworkable code wise as well as in practicality.

The 3rd and best option is once gates are powered and 1 gate is opened a 10 min timer starts before that gate gets closed permanently and can never be opened again. Now you could argue the killer will camp it which is wise but that leaves the 2nd gate more unguarded. Once the 2nd gate is opened that brings the timer down to 5 minutes. Again the gates need to not spawn so close together like they do on occasion that a high mobility killer or even a normal speed killer can just camp them endlessly like a hatch.

When both are opened and the 5 minute countdown hits zero then anyone still in the maps get instantly killed and the killer gets credit as if they downed, hooked and sacrificed them. Again this would have to be balanced around gate spawn locations but would prevent the staying and farming points.

No, this would be dumb. The Doctor is already slower in this mode and there's some Doc's who don't play with range extending add-on's and would render 2 of his add-on's useless which both increase the madness gained from the static field. Doc isn't a Killer you're supposed to be able to stealth from. He's the only Killer that can do this.

So far all of the doctors in my games all use range extending addons and do nothing but spam electrode as they roam the map. They don't even bother going to the edges just patrol to where they're pretty much guaranteed of nailing someone. Once the person hits phase 3 then they go after them but until then roam and spam.

Also it's not about stealth but about actually being able to especially on really small maps cough Haddonfield cough a chance to dog ens, and actually not get nailed in eh 1st 30 secs of the match.

  • The issue with most of these nerf suggestions if you're trying to nerf SVF groups but will in turn screw solo queues over even more than they are now. I've already suggested some good possible compromises that won't nuke solo queue but would make it so SVf groups aren't so op.

I currently run Self Care and Botany Knowledge because I've never seen some of the really good perks. They also fit my playstyle and given solo queue is horrible due to really inexperienced players, campers to the extreme or rage quitters. Your chances of getting healed are slim and none.

There's a rash of really highly skilled and geared killers that have intentionally deranked just so they can go get free kills/easy wins in solo queue. You add to that that most are campers and it's even worse. If you nerf it for solo queue the rage quit rate will skyrocket and no one will want to play. The solution is simple balance SVF separately from solo queue and you can easily balance perks.

  • haha I can totally understand that and btw I totally got the alt-F4 reference since people would get told to do that all the time in online games.

  • @Satsui Ok that's funny since on their Twitter feed they suggested it at one point and since the report feature is currently undergoing an upgrade according to one poster that talked about the response he got. so if it's not working using it is kinda pointless lol.

  • @Jack11803 I think you would've been better served to have explained your comment better since sadly the internet doesn't translate jokes very well because you can't see the persons face nor hear their voice to know better.

  • @Satsui REgardless of whether you're a lawyer or not i agree the frum is for discussion but that wasn't the issue, it was how you went about it that got you flack. There's also an actual place to get hackers banned since the in game feature is currently down. Well actually there's 2 of them and 4 of if you really want to be technically correct. The last 2 are the hardest to use to report unless you're using one of the 2 platforms PS4 and Xbox to play.

For the devs it's the following email address.

    [email protected]

    For Steam it's https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1010-TOKN-8461

Although for Steam since the game isn't VAC protected due to p2p I believe but by the devs EAC system it's probably harder to catch. But they do track it nonetheless and if enough reports come through they'll investigate. Since if someone does it on 1 online game they're probably doing it on a lot of others.

It took me 3 years to catch a suspected Cal league CS player, I knee he was hacking and so did most everyone else, but the video evidence was never good enough until o0ne day I afk'd in the game for 4 hours and he finally slipped up and started toggling. But having said that around 90% or so of reported hackers/cheaters in CS at the time were actually just really good players or the reporter wasn't very good etc.

Also some people who you'd think were hacking were actually lagging out horribly which is why most communities have a ping limit now to prevent that. Both for the natural high ping and those trying to fake the system out by flucatin their ping to hide the hack.

Lastly as a lawyer you're well aware of the justice system and how it's setup to protect the innocent even at the cost that the guilty might get away. Do the hackers deserve to get an instant perma ban hell yes. Do a lot get away scot free yes. But as long as the rules protect at least 1 innocent or in this case many then they're worth it.

I've been around long enough to see countless false accusations hurled with screenshots etc edited to make it look bad and even a few edited videos. As far as the devs go, they might not have as easy of a time cross checking each and every report considering the comments about the code I've seen on here.

Which is probably part of the reason they want to rewrite it from scratch. IF they ever get it to be non p2p and or have hosted servers that're VAC protected it'll improve a lot.

@The_moneyY The reason name and shame isn't allowed is because stuff can be fabricated and it can lead to witch hunts. Granted falsifying gameplay is difficult, but once could also mistake lag for a speedhack for instance.

There's a few valid concerns as to why you can't oust people like that.

    TBH this is bullcrap.

The amount of effort it takes to "fake" a video like this, and the odds someone will get "witch hunted" are ludicrously slim to non existent.

It's like saying I won't be flying because I'm afraid of plane crashes.

Meanwhile cheaters and griefers get to do what the hell they want. This is stupid.

This is not naming and shaming. This is naming and justice.

Wrong and it's actually not that hard if you want to to grief someone with it. If you're really desperate to grief you can pay someone to fake edit a video or screenshot. Your so called naming and justice is reminiscent of the frontier justice. Oh that person stole my horse and here's my made up proof. Now go hang them from the nearest tree.

So what are you defending really?
Because, a report can be "faked" too, but obviously the devs/mods can easily cross check the game info and see if that player really griefed or his name was edited.

So really you are defending that 1 out of 10,000 cases where someone would "shame" someone else by posting an edited video of his name with another someone who hacked / griefed.

And then what? Who the hell cares? I wouldn't really care that much if someone did that to me for the sake of shaming real hackers and griefers on 99.9%. I will just report the person who posted the fake video, the mods/devs can cross-reference the details in the video, and then ban him altogether.

Really, your stance and over-zealous protection of griefers and hackers is just unreasonable.

And who the [BAD WORD] would pay to momentarily post a fake video to "shame" someone else on a video game? lol.

Hackers needs to be known. Your ######### actions and destroyal of gameplay should have consequences and not be protected with some far-fetched slim-to-none chances for a "witch hunt" or a "fake video".

That's why in real life all court sessions are public, and so are criminal records!

These Hacker & Griefer protection policies are absurd.

I'd be fine if it wasn't allowed to make evidence-less claims, but posting a video of someone cheating and getting banned for it? It's just retardingly absurd.

Wrong on so many occasions and where do you get your numbers on how often it happens, do you have inside non public information? Because if you don't that's the equivalent of pulling numbers out of your rear end and stating them as facts. Which leads us to this nice quote.

“That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.” – Christopher Hitchens.

Also all real life court session aren't open to the public, some are closed to the public to protect you guessed it victims as well as the accused when there's a reasonable need for it. My stance isn't unreasonable at all, what's unreasonable is you wanting to break the rules you agreed to. You know the ones called TOS/EULA that you agreed to abide by which clearly state that NAMING AND SHAMING IS AGAINST THE FORUM RULES.

As @weirdkid5 said the devs put those rules into place so either follow them or don't and see what happens. They put those rules to protect that perhaps 1 in 10,000 person from turning around and suing them for the false accusation etc.

Lastly most states have laws called libel laws while not widely used in the online community have been sued and to great success against those making said accusation. The same is true all over the world which is why most companies also require when you click accept that you agree to BINDING ARBITRATION when a dispute arises.

You don't have to like it or even agree with it, but by clicking accept you have to follow it. No ifs, ands or buts since those are the rules you agreed to follow. Steam and every gaming community out there CS, League of Legends, etc all follow the same rules.

Yes and much like weirdkid, your argument is resorting to making up things I never said. Well done!

Where did I exactly say I am going to break any rules? I am stating my opinion about the ridiculousness of the matter.

BTW - about libel laws - you ARE AWARE there is a DEFENSE called "speaking the truth", right? Or are you just spouting nonsense out of your rear end without any real knowledge of it?
That means, that if you called someone a cheater PUBLICLY, and you have spoken the truth, you CANNOT be sued for it.

    THAT IS RIGHT SON!

    Source: I am a lawyer.

Nice try, though, but please, try not to make up stuff without the littlest knowledge in it.

And again, if someone is actually "naming and shaming" without proof or just for the heck of it, or just posting fake videos which is highly unlikely and rare - they can be dealt with and banned. It's NOT that hard for developers and mods cross reference a game and the participating players.

That was so pathetic I can't believe you actually tried the I'm a Lawyer bs line since if you were in fact a lawyer you'd know your're excuses and posting are full of hot air and wouldn't hold a candle in a courtroom. You can try and use all the Ad Hominem, Red Herrings and Straw Mans you want. It doesn't change a thing the rules that're there and you accepted.

I used to do forum discussion with a lawyer who dealt with civil stuff and people like you would come onto the forum claiming they were lawyers then get promptly exposed as lying. If you were in fact a lawyer you wouldn't use "THAT IS RIGHT SON! Source: I am a lawyer.

There's no lawyer out there that will ever do that, especially not on a internet forum over a video game. Also if you were in fact a lawyer you'd know speaking the truth as you put it doesn't make you immune to libel laws. Try taking your own advice and actually learning the law especially since this isn't in public but is a private gaming companies forum.

In other words you can't use the speaking the truth defense here, nor can you claim 1st Amendment since I can see that's where you're gonna go next..

So it's just an instant escape.

This is not so when they hard DC. Quitting in game you may get 5000 for escape plus whatever you earned, however when they force close app or unplug their system it does the survivor no Justice.

So true and lets not forget you lose your offerings and in case of my last few games having a survivor(s) quit just screws over everyone remaining both the killer and the survivors.

@powerbats Yeah thanks for the info, having a few extra options helps!

No problem and while it's not hacking Io found the fact this person is prestiged and ultra rare goodies ands till had to camp and tea bag as if he was good. Then proceeded to go all full blown homophobe. They've obviously done it before which makes you wonder if the report function is undergoing upgrades on all of the reports.

oh and ran into a Hag that was possibly hacking since she came from upper floor to lower floor from opposite side of map straight to me. She had no buffs/perks like BBQ etc but instead just moved at normal speed and ignored like 5 different spots I could've been.

I'm wondering if since ppl know possibly the report function isn't working that wall hackers and others aren't taking advantage of it.

  • @The_moneyY You can actually still get them nailed even with the report feature being overhauled by sending it direct to them.

    [email protected]

Also if it's on Steam send it to them and same goes for Xbox/PS4 support if you know the platform they're on.

  • Oh I understand it's not great for high ranked killers and you can make survivors get greedy or punish them by going after gens and damaging them. I had a DS survivor constantly loop me just now as nurse. I was on Lery's my most hated map as a survivor since it's a lot harder. I eventually just started baiting him into looping and going after the other survivors doing gens. I did this by changing ym chasing angle and forcing him towards where I knew other survivors were.

I downed him a few times and almost got the sacrifice going to 3rd stage. i still managed to get 2 sacrifices done by getting them to 3rd stage and suing his looping against him. That's not to say that'll work on everyone .

Here's some Qol buffs i thought of to help and to those 'd add perhaps letting the killer see at least against full 4 man SVf groups either or their perks/addons but also their offerings. It could even be some combo of those options. Once they lock in the killer gets a 10 second or so lockout window where they can't change anything but the killer can choose to change his/her perks and offerings/addons.

I mean since the entity sees and knows all technically speaking it'd have that knowledge to share with the killer. That or give the killer some insight into his hopefully victims. :p

I always liked the idea of selfcare giving you a sort of no mither effect. Gets rid of blood drops and sounds of pain, you still limp and you still go down in one hit. Then buff the self heal speed to the normal heal speed and tremendously buff the self heal efficiency atleast to the point that a brown medkit can give you two full self heals. This would mean if you want to fully selfheal you need to bring a medkit, if you dont have a medkit you just have to live with a subpar heal that mitigates the seriousness of your injury until you find a medkit or a teammate. Atleast this way the perk still has a functional purpose and gives people a real reason to bring medkits even if its a crummy brown one.

That's an interesting idea actually and perhaps make it so that if you don't have the medikit/find one you'd only get the heal more fully done if you run the botany perk. Also if you fail the self heal skill check make your cries of pain louder ie aura fail bigger for that one time fail.

  • @weirdkid5 said:
@powerbats I'm just gonna correct you on a few things. You cannot break an unthrown pallet, that's what looping is, circling an unthrown pallet.

Also the top Killers in the game even know it's unfair and complain a lot. TydeTyme has expressed his dissatisfaction, Tru3 rages a lot, ScottJund got bodied by Marth88's depip squad. Marth himself also has gotten every Killer to Rank 1 using no perks at all. But that's simply because most survivors are just bad players.

You were playing Hillbilly that game you mentioned you did what you did. Yeah, cause it's Hillbilly. Try doing that with Wraith. Not nearly as easy. Unless you play Nurse or Billy, you are entirely at the mercy of the skill and level of tryhard the survivors you're facing decide to be.

Please actually get to high rank first buddy.

I've been high rank in other games before and I'm well aware of how imbalanced things can get. It doesn't detract from my points however that in 1 persons case they're admitting to dodging because they don't want to have to face that team comp. Again the devs have said they're working on pallets and looping. My point still stands, that even no perks, no addons I learned from my mistakes and recognized the patterns the survivors were using to my advantage.

If I get to high rank and say the same thing you'll just come back with a different response to deflect my points. The top killers may complain but they also try and make suggestions to improve things. I don't see them saying dodge automatically because they don't like the team comps or can't see someones profile info.

I played high ranked WOW pvp and remember when they made changes to where it was so one sided it was impossible. i also remember complaining as did others but we also made good suggestions to improve on it. In the meantime we figured out ways to overcome our disadvantages and use the other sides ego's to our own advantage.

The survivors know they have an advantage at high ranks and no what they can do, so why not try and sue that against them. If you know where the looping spots are you can plan ahead. You can cut corners, stop chasing when it's pointless, damage those gens etc. I watched a really skilled wraith outplay people looping non downed pallets by planning ahead.

Lastly the devs are already working on this by removing some pallets and if they follow through on SVF nerfs/buffs to killers against those groups it'll be a much more even playing field. But simply whining about it saying I quit doesn't help at all.

  • @SadonicShadow said:

You speak like someone who has never played at the high ranks as killer. If you think going up against 4 decisive strike pallet loopers along with brand new parts is fun then by all means have at it bucko.

I never stated I was high rank and my experience with pallet lopping is there since I've seen it from both sides as a killer and as someone watching someone else doing it. But that's not the issue, the issue is you're whining about not getting free wins basically because you don't want to have to build to counter what you see.

You're the only killer poster main so far that in every thread whines about survivors not making things easy for them. If they pallet loop you, destroy the stupid pallet. DS has a cooldown, use that to your advantage. You know they're going to run it counter it with addons/perks/killers.

I ran into a 4 man SVf group last night as a lvl 1 Hillbilly., I got pallet looped and obstacle looped a lot. I destroyed pallets, I stopped chasing and went back and damaged gens,. I also remembered where the survivors would go to lopp me and cut corners and downed them.

I managed to down survivors 6x or so and while i didn't get any sacrifices I still got them down including the expert who was ranked 8 and had prestiged and at least 1x possibly more. I did all that without a single addon or perk as a lvl 1 Hillbilly. Now if I with almost no experience on the Hillbilly going up against a 4 man SVF group with all those perks and a rank 8 can down people you can't complain then.

If you can't adapt, outsmart, out think, out plan, out everything against them then it's not the devs fault but your own. Is the game balanced at high ranks against SVF no, but that's no excuse to give up and whine that you can't have an easy game. Because duh you're at high rank it's not supposed to be easy to win.

You whine they're not entitled to your time well you're not entitled to waste their time or get an easy win. How is you getting a free win a fun game for them? Isn't that hypocritical to say you want to have fun but don't want them to. You need to quit griping over what you can't control and grow up and start using the knowledge you should have to take advantage of where you can and try and negate where you're weaker.

The top killers aren't all on here whining about it non stop nor are they making excuses for the shortcomings. No, they're working on strategies, planning ahead, doing their best and making sure they don't stop trying to improve. The other thing they're not doing is coming to the forums whining incessantly about how unfair things are. They're actually making good posts on how to improve things without skewing it so far in the other direction.

As someone else already stated solo queue is 30% survival rate which is absurdly low and is probably even lower when it's newer players mostly. As I've suggested they should give killers buffs against svf groups but only those members of svf groups.

Finally realize SVF isn't going away, it's here to stay and most people want to play with friends. So saying people need to just quit if they want to play with friends because you can't handle it suggests you should be the one to quit. The more people that play means the more people that have bought the game. The more people buy the game the more money the devs have to make improvements you know like the ones they're working on right now.

You know the ones like pallet looping and DS etc that you conveniently ignore with all your posts. Lets face it you don't want a balanced game, you want free wins since that's the only way you'll have fun.

I dodge as killer but only if i see things like 4 toolboxes/ 4 flashlights or an obvious Seal Team 6 SWF group. I am not going to waste my time giving a cancer squad a game just so that they can harass me. They dont deserve a game.

So in other words you don't want to have to actually use your skills and out think the other side but have a free win handed to you.Way to feel entitled to not have to try at all. You see 4 toolboxes go with the 2 dbl perks that counter that as well as a killer that can counter. They go 4 flashlights go the counter to that as well as killer. There's also the offering you get to have the advantage there since you can clearly see what they're doing.

Go Lery's and the Shape or the Hag there and wreck their kitchens since you as the killer have options and can plan ahead. Oh and just stop whining voer you can't see their profiles good grief if you need that much of a handicap you shouldn't be playing a killer. Do you really need the entity to hold your hand that much to give you a chance?

If I was the entity I'd sacrifice you and get a real killer, not some whiner who can't act the part of the killer good grief. The killer i supposed to be ruthless and fearless and not care about the game being fair or easy for them. The good/great killers overcome all obstacles and sacrifice everything in their way. They don't ask for the survivor to please play easy and stad in front of the hook.

People usually can't take criticism well when they think their right.

Btw, @BarpleBapkins just make Self-Care causes Exhaustion or apply some other status de-buff effect. Makes sense since you tending to your own wounds you should suffer a penalty for it.

Probably would be a better solution than reworking the perk entirely, but I still feel the need for it to be limited. I'd settle for this to see how it would work out, though.

Exhaustion is a bit much, especially if you're facing a good/great killer and their hounding you. as someone else had suggested make it so that if you're using self heal that if you fail the skill check/stop healing then the progress gets reset to zero.

This would be a way more balanced solution than to simply gut it with heavy nerfs just because all the high ranked players/SVF groups use it. It'd be way more balanced this way while still being a useful perk.

Survivors get 5k BP when a killer leaves.

Survivors get 5k points as an 'Escape'.
Not as a reward for a Killer disconnecting, but since there's no Killer to kill in the match, the ultimate resolution is that Survivors would escape.
So it's just an instant escape.

That's your bonus, Should the devs consider taking that away since your not actually escaping then?
killer gets 1250 per survivor d/cing, survivors get a full 5k instantly if the killer d/cs so sure..complain and beg for more.

I have to agree here that take what's given since the killer gets screwed more if survivors bail. No sacrifices, no chases, no hits and downs etc.

Okay, so please enlighten me as to why if survivors DC a killer gets bonus points and when a killer DC survivors lose everything? When will this ever be fixed? I just get tired of losing all my points and stuff? (Note I have never DC nor do I plan to yet as a killer it seems to be only benificben when force closing app from what I hear)

Survivors get 5k BP when a killer leaves.

I've gotten far less, unless the match has gone at least 5-10 mins or better. You get I think around 2k or so may'be less if they bail during loading screen or right after it starts but I could be wrong. I'll screenshot it next time for sure.

  • I've yet to dc/rage quit but I've been sorely tempted to. But tonight has been atrocious for quitters on both sides 1-3 survivors bailing so they don't get sacrificed or hate killer.

That said holy cow the killers tonight are so bad it's like free weekend again. I've 4 straight lobbies where they didn't like the team comps. There was another 2 where they didn't like the team comps but waited until offerings were used and then game was loading and quit.

So you end up getting a few points but on your screen it shows both you and the killer disconnected but not anyone else. I'm wondering if that means the killer sees all 4 as dc'd and gets a free report against everyone dinging them falsely.

This isn't a rare occurrence anymore but has gotten worse since PTB and the f2p weekend started. While ft2 is over PTB is still going and it seems issues there are creeping over.

Heh, simply put man, if you were to ask me how many times I have had to post that video in the forums, you'd immedietaly understand why I'm at that point i've gotten rather jerkish overtime, the problem is you may be one of them that did'nt know sure, but many will call camping out as unintended or an exploit while easily knowing it was indeed intended.

The same thing for stealthplay, many can prove it exists easily but we're regretfully put up against the incredibly large amount of pallet looping extremists, just like we were put against the infinite extremeist before, most survivors are very well aware that dbd was meant to be stealth gameplay, and it's those that refuse too play that way that have pretty much destoryed the games concept entirely, there is no forgiveness for these types of players when pallet looping ends up being nerfed again and a again as we even now know the devs already intend on nerfing pallet looping itself in september patch.

I posted about possible help for the killers earlier here and would love your feedback as well as others. As far as the looping goes i've had it happen and earlier trying to do Hillbilly mission I ran into a SVF group of 4 one of which looped me endlessly around the same area. He was apparently shepherding some brand new players through and I figured that out pretty quickly. Which also made something I thought of but didn't add to that post more helpful to killers on that.

I'm not sure if it's possible with the coding but stuff could decay sort of if the person constantly loops the killer can start going through it as if it wasn't there. But only for that timeframe against that survivor and the survivor can't go back for 30 seconds or has to go that plus x distance known only to devs to keep it from being gamed.

    http://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/2143/killer-qol-changes#latest

For the video I keep forgetting to grab a link to it since on some old forums I moderated I kept links and such along with long winded stuff on a file for easier grabbing. It made it much easier then constantly typing the same thing otu which you admitted you're tired of doing.

In the next few days I'll try and grab all the important stuff like that video along with some of the better explanations etc and put it all into 1 post/document folder so if needed it's there for anyone to use.

  • @AlexAnarchy ? for you before I post this in possible buffs to killers. Since you've got a lot of playtime what do you think of only allowing killers to see all offering(s)? That and or only allowing survivors to see their side only while allowing killer to see both or survivors don't see what was offered unless i'ts a stackable buff.

  • What I found funny about this is that The Nurse and The Huntress would've had a field day there with 2 easy downs bleeding to death. You could just cmap those 2 since in that case it'd be justifiable. The doctor could just sit there and electrode non stop as well. The trapper could put traps all over the area too.

My biggest issue is BBQ. This one perk has single handedly thrown away stealth for the survivors. You don't see any billies/nurses not running it anymore. Once they get their first hook, they start a chain with this perk that's extremely difficult to break combo'd with their abilities.

incredibly false, 4 seconds does not hinder stealth at all when you can simply Git Gud.

I just had to point this, but dude you seriously got flagged by someone (most likely a survivor main who loves their precious stealth and free escapes too much) for saying that. I'm in shock.

they can go ahead and flag me, I can stealth just fine against BBQ and doctor just as well as any actual skilled stealth player can, if they wanna flag me for basically saying, stop making excuses, then go ahead : P

I was trying to think of what a good way to explain this and last match had a perfect example. The nurse used BBQ and Thanatobia. She hooked 1 person and I was under the bbq range but working on a gen close by but still under the trigger range. As soon as she landed the hook I started moving off at an angle that'd make it harder to find me.

She blinked right to me instantly without any los and to the spot I was hiding which given there was 5 spots there she just happened to choose the perfect one. She finally downed me and hooked me and after I got rescued I tried healing outside of her detection range which speccing was within 28 meters of her only not beyond.

She still blinked right next to me and hit me, I got away and didn't heal at all and got far away and yet she still got me. I watched the other survivors all have same thing happen. Her BBQ was on permanent activate or she was hacking. I've had other games where I'm just outgeared and outskilled by killers that have obviously purposely deranked for easier games.

As for you I'd better hope that with all your experience and high perks etc you could outplay someone with BBQ. But for most of us we don't have the amount of playtime and experience you do, we also are more limited in our perks selection let alone tiers of perks. I've yet to see any of the really good perks I'd like except for one but it got closed off and that was decisive strike.

So saying it's any skilled player is bs and you know it and it nothing but a Red Herring when the real is time played and knowledge gained. You probably got reported not for being truthful but for the way you respond with almost always insults and personal attacks,

I for one am grateful you posted that video link about the dev diary 3 since I'd not know of it until then. You'd probably get a lot more respect if your responses weren't almost always on the jerkish side. Just remember as someone that has obviously played this game for a long time you should a good steward of relations in dealing with people. Being a jerk because you don't like the responses or are tired of dealing with them doesn't change the fact being a jerk is still being a jerk.

I regularly take break from forum posting in the different communities because I get tired of dealing with certain people or just the ones that always ask for nerfs against their most hated foes/buffs to their fav champ. Just remember you were a noob freshman so to speak too at one time.

  • Having someone get mad at you and then coming to the forum to brag about it makes you no different than them in that case. Since you won you can be proud of that, you won they lost and gloating about making them get pissed in post game chat and then coming to brag is just bad.

Better to gloat in silence that not only did you win but you made them upset if you want to do that.

  • The issue is that svf is making killers ask for nerfs that then turn around and hurt the solo players the most instead of actually fixing the problem. Most of my games are either complete noobs as in they all go try and rescue the camped hooked survivor resulting in the killer having 3 downed in less than 4 mins.

I use self care to keep myself going if I get caught in the crossfire so I can try and do gens and thereby punish said camper. There's other games where on the really big maps you're pretty much all alone and the chances of finding a team mate or chest let alone one that hasn't been looted already are slim and one.

While I get games with good players, I also get games with really good killers who quite often get that 4 sacrifice match. So stop trying to nerf survivor perks and instead nerf svf perks so that solo's and randoms don't get screwed.

This kids logic is flawed horribly.

powerbats. rethink what you said man.

If I see a Claudette that is wearing all dark stuff as well... I'll patrol camp her for sure. It just reeks of tryhard. And that person probably has DS as well.

You're logic is flawed, I'm over 50 so strike one.

There's absolutely no guarantee you're going to get the map you want that's best for dark clothes even with an offering. Someone else the killer especially will pop an offering just to make sure you don't get what you want. The other survivors might not want a dark map. So that'd be strike two.

Patrol camping for the one survivor that's more than likely not try harding but likes the outfit instead reeks of poor sport tryhard. If you're so upset over 1 survivor having a cool cosmetic then you've got your focus on the wrong thing. Since while you're flailing around for that 1 person the Nea's and all the others running DS and other perks are laughing their asses off doing gens.

Oh sure you may get that 1 Claudette and stroke your epeen for it but 3 people make it out and make the entity very displeased at you. So that'd be strike 3 and your out. :p

  • Well then simply report them once it's over for holding the game hostage since they'll cap out or will have done so already. If you show you're getting frustrated that just rewards them more.

If you're not going to punish it then it'll just keep getting worse the same as every other game out there that didn't do anything until they finally had no choice. If you've got latency issues then leave the lobby and wait 5 seconds and queue up again.

I'm so happy that everyone has the ability to live in a place that has amazing internet speed...

It's incumbent on you to play when you know you'll won't be dcing non stop so stop trying to use Straw Mans and the victim card, it's childish and doesn't help the discussion. The bottom line is the moment you click accept on that EULA and TOS you're bound by it if you're still on dial up and know you're going to dc every 2 mins then you're clearly violating it knowingly and deserve to get a timer penalty.

There's no gaming company out there today that doesn't punish you for constantly disconnecting due to bad internet. They all give you leeway but after that start giving you warings then punishments. So stop witht eh trolling.

Not trolling at all..your just insensitive too the fact not everyone has the ability to live or be raised in areas of the country or world that don't have great internet speed.. Shameful in that case really.

Also what are some examples of companies who give you penalties for having bad internet connection as that is not something that is the actual persons fault?

Actually I'm very sensitive to that which is why i support giving people lots of leeway early. I used to have AOL DSL a long time ago and every Friday at exactly 5 PM PST it'd go down and stay down for 15-30 mins. I was at the time not only a WOW GM but also one of the main tanks for raids and so my guild knew i wouldn't be on and ready during those times

I knew it wasn't fair to screw others over due to my isp issues that were well known to me. My area didn't have great internet due to AOL overselling their service and then deciding the only way to fix the issue was to boot everyone off in our area and do rolling disconnects throughout the region to cover for it.

The same is true of now, if you know your internet sucks then it's incumbent on you not to play unless you know it's good, or in this case with p2p if your ping is too high to leave lobby and try and find a better one. But most of the dc's aren't people with bad internet but people trying to grief the other side or survivors because they couldn't be rescued.

Now for some examples that are pretty well known in no particular order.

Riot games with League of Legends gives you some leeway but if you keep dcing/dodging you get warnings , then timer penalties then temporary bans from playing and if it;s bad enough your account gets perma'd. They also offer technical support via traceroutes to help pinpoint the problems. Whether it's the connection at house/dorm or further along the pipeline.

EA with all of their games but especially Battlefield will give you queue timer penalties for ranked games and if you're constantly dcing will become harsher.

Bethesda does the same as does Blizzard/Activision.

Rust won't or at least they didn't use to and that came down to individual server admins the same is true for a lot of the smaller games out there that run independently managed servers

Again the bottom line is that's it's the person playings responsibility to make sure they have a reliable internet connection or to at least try and minimize the disruptions their actions cause. I used to game with people from Argentina and Brazil all the time and their internet would make dial up look good it was so bad.

I felt bad for them but also tried to help them plan their playing time around known service disruption times since it wasn't fair to others when they knew at x time their service would be out. So they started playing around those times, stopped getting hit with penalties and started enjoying themselves more.

It's no different here for those with bad internet they need to find the best way to resolve it and they can traceroute or look on the internet or even the tech support forums here for help.

  • Ok that's hilarious and I thought it wa a survivor list to bm killers.

  • @Master The devs are working on the looping issue and as I've said before most of my games the killer either aces all 4 or camps and aces all 4. The super high rank games are where this is probably more of an issue then say the 15-20 range or there abouts.

The "hit list" is an actual thing, there's close to 400 players on that list it seems.

He's going to run out of people to play with very fast then.

  • Looks like 2 were doing it.

  • I've never seen 2 so close together let alone 3. Most often they're quite far away that seems like a bug that needs to get fixed.

  • I refuse to camp since I feel that it just demeans what it means to be the killer and what the Entity is all about. That said I've been tempted to camp especially against svf groups or those who're so geared it's like a noob playing against pro's. As a then lvl 3 Trapper I went against 2 with 2 ultra very rare and 2 very rare perks, The other 2 had all 4 ultra very rare perks and all were highly leveled and experienced. They'd either body block me while attempting to hook, use the escape ability after 4 seconds or sabotage my hooks in less than 4 seconds in front of me.

They weren't jerks and actually felt bad for me that matchmaking put me up against them like that. They did compliment me for my chases and the fact I got quite a few downs done and even a few hookings. Most killers are good about roaming while there's a core bunch that either gets 1 survivor and camps them or patrols just out of range and waits.

They never do anything but that even when it's obvious the solo queue group isn't either well geared or experienced. They get their 4 sacrifices and then brag about how ez it was in post game chat when it doesn't take skill to camp. The really good killers when they realize it's an inexperienced/low geared group hunts and gets people and scores a hecka lot more points than the camper does.

To me the entity feeds off the chase (more points for killers would induce less camping), the brutality of smacking the survivors (more blood spilled the better). It loves hooking them and hearing them scream, bashing gens thereby reducing their hard work and taking away their hope etc.

I've had matches where as the killer I didn't ge sacrifices but got a great score and the entity was pleased because I was a brutal killer. I got lots of hooks and downs and lots of bleeding going on as well as chasing. That to me is what the entity wants along with the sacrifices.

  • The issue is that trolls basically have a get out of jail free card, don't like the team comps or about to get sacrificed? Just dc and screw everyone else over and don't say this is a one sided issue it's not both sides do it extensively with little punishment. I had a game last night where 1 survivor waited until 2 seconds left to quit which left no time to do anything so 3 went against the Shape. He quickly got 2 ppl down and eventually sacrificed. While I was able to rescue 2 ppl and do 3 gens 2 solo I couldn't get the last gen done because he patrolled so well and finally got me trying to do it.

I've had matches where the killer does the same while game is loading and when they see rare or better offerings they just quit because it screws those people over. I've outplayed killers without looping at all and had them quit because I didn't things they wouldn't expect like double back towards them.

But I've also had killers nail me for doing things most killers wouldn't expect but they'd cut corners or look to see if I'd double back. I've had games where survivors get downed and either insta dc or do so once hooked. The killer gets credit for partial sacrifice but gets denied full points. The remaining survivors get screwed.

In some games it's a chain reaction, one person bails then the next and so on until you're the only 1 left and you're not going to get 2-5 gens done by yourself. Most definitely not against a well played killer and on certain maps. I've yet to dc as either a killer or survivor but I've definitely been tempted.

If you're not going to punish it then it'll just keep getting worse the same as every other game out there that didn't do anything until they finally had no choice. If you've got latency issues then leave the lobby and wait 5 seconds and queue up again.

@powerbats That's not a problem for you that SC is a must have for every survivor ?

Maybe don't nerf it then, but make it on the basic gameplay, slow the processus, and make SC a perk who increase the self heal speed.

It's no different than BBQ and Ruin being mandatory on killers. As someone else stated in another thread and I agree with make it so that if you fail the skill check or stop it's progress it resets to zero. The only way to negate that would be an addon(s) to increase skill check zones/speeds which are available.

You could also have it use up the healing kit if you're using one or a lot of charges. The base healing kit gets used up on self care always. The tier 2 gets mostly used etc and having addons prolongs use currently. Besides which a good killer follows the blood and listens and 50% of the time gets them before they finish or right after.

If you're within the terror radius default radius only not the 25-50% extended range one then you have a slightly smaller skill check success zone modified by addons/item choice. The closer the killer is the harder it gets to heal since if the killer is really close you're going to be rushed and probably screw up or get noticed.

  • @NotSure said:

    snip for easier reading

I would personally put self care in the balanced tier. While the perk is insanely strong, it is counterable.

This right here, is why it needs to be left alone since if killers don;t like it they can take something to counter it. That's no different than taking other perks and addons to counter both killer and survivor choices. You're not supposed to be given freebies or otherwise you might as well have no limit on perks/addons or just remove them.

Wraith is actually really good on maps without lots of easy los or those with a lot of dark mist. There's been several games lately where the Wraith has aced the whole side due to good map combos as well as the super short decloak time perks/addons.

But like any killer he has strengths weaknesses and the map rng either makes him really good or at a disadvantage. You don't want to voer buff him to the point he's like the Doctor on certain maps easy 4 dead in less than 5 mins.

Considered one of the worst killers in the game by the community, this one says nah he's fine with perks and addons and good map rng, Maybe you miss the point that a killer should not have to be reliant on addons too be good.
And even after his supposed buff he's still one of the worst killers in the game so obviously, he DOES need more buffs.

Apparently quite a few ppl seem to think he's one of the best because I've been seeing tons of them lately and all have been acing teams left and right. So some people think he's great especially those who know how to play him. So I guess in my eyes that makes him pretty good. But then that's just my opinion and the community as represented here doesn't represent the entire player base.
