  • ✋ play both equally.

While survivor is usually more OP, it all boils down to how the game starts. If you can get a kill before before 2 gens are done, you have a 50/50 chance to snowball the game into your favor. That's at least how I view it.

If the survivors are optimal, the chances are 30/70.
I’ve kept stats on this playing as survivor.

About 130 matches worth of data.

When the first person died with 4 or 5 gens remaining. The gates were never powered.

When thefirst perosn died with 3 gens remaining. The gates were powered twice.

When thenfirst perosn died with 2 gens remaining, it became 50/50.

    1 gen remaining. 75%

the magic number for gens is two remaining. That’s what I used to camp my way to rank only using Michael. Get that first person outta the way.
  • I mained Myers to rank one on the old system and I camped my way there lol.

You just gotta get that first person outta the way. but it works wonders against SwF teams because they are too altruistic.

If they’re not gonna be altruistic, probably not a SwF team, then I may not hard camp.
  • How fun do you think it is for killers to be ran around in circles non-stop? How fun is it to have one of your favorite movie icons (Freddy) get nerfed into oblivion a week after release?

You don't like being facecamped, do killers shouldn't do it? Ok, if they shouldn't facecamp, then YOU shouldn't loop.

Don't like being tunnelled, so killers shouldn't do it? Ok, if they shouldn't tunnel, YOU shouldn't Tbag.

Don't like getting rekt by NOED? Maybe stop popping 3 gens 2 minutes into the match. Find the totems and cleanse them.

Don't like Ruin? Again, stop genrushing.

Killer's don't enjoy being greeted by genrush, 4x DS, and looping.

How was Freddy nerfed anyways. I can’t remember.
  • Making a fun game is achieved by making a game where people can get good. Not spoon feeding people. Sometimes tweaks are necessary. But making fun can become making cheesy and too easy.

Hello, as a Myers main I tell you that your win conditions with this killer are not very smart solo players, a good map, and a solid build. Always dodge SWF groups as Myers. His main strength is the lower terror radius, which you can make more lower than the default with the Monitor & Abuse perk. Michael is a loopable killer but he's defenetively better than the Wraith becouse of his one-shot ability and the fact that you don't need to uncloack to surprise the survivors. Your general strategy to kill should be this: with Monitor & Abuse, keep up your Evil Within II close to 99% and bam pop EW III on a survivor that is in a bad spot. With this perk he will never know that you are close unless he see you. Avoid wide and open maps like the Coldwind Farm or the Autohaven Wreckers becouse in those maps Myers can be see coming so far away, giving the survivors time to hide in corners and prevent stalking. If you want to tryhard as Myers always burn an offering for Lery or the Gideon Meat Plant, since these are tons of walls that prevent the survivors to see where you are, and always use Monitor & Abuse. Your general build should be this: M&A - Enduring - Ruin - BBQ&Chili. If you want turn Myers in an unstoppable killing machine pick up the Fragrant Tuft of Hair and this build: Thanatophobia - Brutal Strength - Enduring - Ruin. Thanatophobia is a must on this build becouse good survivors will not heal themselves completely to use some meta perks like Dead Hard or Iron Will, once they know you have infinite level 3, so Thana should punish them for not healing. Keep Enduring to recover faster after getting D-Striked and pallet stuns, and Brutal Strength to get ride of pallet faster, or eventually punish survivors who stand still on the other side o a pallet to t-bag you.

i played myers only to rank one and it got to the point where i preferred to play red ranked SWF teams because they are so altrustic

Not always SWF teams are so stupid. When I play SWF we are pretty organized and we never rush hooks against a killer that can snowball potentially. We suck only against good Nurses.

Yeah I understand. But in 6 months playing killer there was only two teams I remember that countered me well lol. I remember those matches exactly

  • so if i hit them first, then pick them up, it'll be okay??

  • stack the purple and yellow bag

put 3 traps near the gen you spawn closest to. put 3 traps next to middle gen and test your luck.

  • but what does healing returns to normal or bleeding returns to normal once healed?

i never understood that definition in sloppy butcher. does that mean it only applies to the first hit, and once that survivor heals up, sloppy butcher never applies to them anymore?

  • Bloodhound is absolutely vital on a killer like Michael because you can’t afford to find a survivor, chase them, hit then, chase them some more, lose them, and they get healed.

Match is over at that point.
Trying to keep multiple people hurt is actually now a viable tactic thanks to Sloppy Butcher. Especially on Myers with M&A and/or NC (So you can disengage and find them later while they arent sure if you are still around or left)

and Freddy (same reason but huge hit and run potential, dream slowdown stacked with mangled  keeps them hurt for ages)
To be honest I never understood the bleeding part of sloppy butcher
Its not that bad for tracking on Autohaven Wreckers, Lerys and the game.
    How does it work though
  • It got to the the point where I would prefer to play good SwF teams because they play so altruistically. My camping strategy would slaughter those teams.

Out of the hundreds of red ranked SwF teams I have played, only two countered me properly.

I say say this all the time. Until one has achieved rank one as killer, you simply don’t know this game deep enough to properly contribute to the discussion of improving the game.

I got this game a year ago exactly. I didn’t start playing killer with a goal of getting rank one until january. And it was eye opening.
  • with Michael at high ranks I ended up having a game plan for each match depending on the situation. You have to think things through before the match and be prepared to adjust on the fly based on your strategy before the game. With Michael for example things can go 3 ways at the beginning of the match, and you have to know how to deal with them separately.

Either you get an early grab. Get an easy hit because of low terror radius. Or the worst, they see you coming and start running.
  • Keep making adjustments and get to rank one on your own. That’s what I did. Michael was the only killer I used to get to rank one the first time. Made a ton of adjustments along the way to find out what was optimal.
  • Bloodhound is absolutely vital on a killer like Michael because you can’t afford to find a survivor, chase them, hit then, chase them some more, lose them, and they get healed.

Match is over at that point.

  • Michael is the reason why I bought this game. And I went from rank 20 to rank 1 using only him. It was a goal of mine in the game. This was before emblem system. But it still works now.

I constantly made adjustments along the way. The difficulty beyond rank 5 was night and day.

Bloodhound and NOED are two I always use. The other two you can mix and match.

You have to get an early grab off a gen or hit and stalk them to 99% if you can’t hit them again. Once you get them on the hook you have to hard camp them and if anyone comes near, activate tier 3and down them.

If you get a hook before 1 or 2 gens are done, you should be able to get 3 kills easily. I almost always get 3 kills with him. If I’m gunning for 4ks then I’ll run whispers.

  • Killer should be able to instadown with no cool down within 32m of hatch

I've logged a bit over 200 hours in the game since I bought it a month or two ago (maybe a bit longer, don't remember really).

I started out trying both roles and was immediately hooked (no pun intended). I've played mostly Survivor mainly due to getting games much faster. I've been working on getting all Survivors to 40 to open up all teachable perks. I've got Tapp to finish off (he's level 29'ish now) and then my "main" Kate Denson (because that booty).

Now, I was hanging around the mid-teens in rank for a long time, trying my hardest to do objectives and survive. Couldn't seem to break out of that mid-teen ranking until I watched a few of the high rank players and basically figured out that you essentially have to "do it all" to rank up. Now that doesn't mean carrying your survivor friends but more or less doing generators, saving hooked people, getting chased, etc. Once I figured out how that worked I moved up to rank 6 pretty quickly and that's without using items (just BP boosting sacrifices for the most part).

For the guys saying "it isn't hard" to hit rank 1, you have to remember that most people are playing this at their leisure so in most cases, they don't give a crap about rank. For a lot of us, it's fun. Now that I figured out the formula, I can have fun and rank up at the same time. I need to work on my 360 game anyhow (still can't figure out how you guys do that).

I've played Leatherface to 40 and Hag to high 20's trying to unlock their perks. I can't control Billy to save my life and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with the Nurse. I've face camped (when I thought you had to ecure a kill for the Summer BBQ chops, sorry about that guys), but now I've limited my camping to really annoying players which, to be honest, I don't come across too often.

I don't complain about Nurses or Billy's or perks because it's in the game and rank doesn't mean much to me. The games are certainly more fun at higher ranks because people, for the most part, are pretty good.

Playing Killer for me is relaxing but the games just take too long to get (I think I'm a rank 14 Killer). I'm enjoying all aspects of the game except for the DC'ers and AFK'ers. Man those people tick me off and they will get reported every time (not that it does much). They just make the game not fun.

Luckily another match is just a few seconds away for a Survivor.

if you play red ranked games as killer you will quickly learn how to be a better survivor

It's funny how people think playing killer is a chore. I've tried survivor a couple times and nothing about it is fun to me. I've been debating on trying out survivor again but the thought of doing gens over and over just repulses me.

it can still be a chore at times, i can only play 2-3 matches as killer before taking a break. sometimes the matches can be long, especially if you hook survivors 12 times.

i would have matches where i would be dozing off as survivor and still get a pip, imagine getting rank one killer while dozing off to sleep during the match? lol would never happen.

  • Lol you guys are nuts
  • He should be able to hide in closests with 3rd person view
  • Trapper has the most potential in any given match. Any combination of iridescent stone, bloody coil, stacking bags, or thanatophobia, and things can do downhill in a hurry for survivors.

stitched bag and bloody coil with thanatophobia.

Iridesecent stone and bloody coil, trap the switch under the gates the first chance you get. Or keep trapping pallets.

  • I’ve been saying this. In a 1v1 situation. The killer should have insta down and no cool down
  • i would say the trapper is mid-tier a worst now.

some mixes with bloody coil, iridescent stone, and stitched bag, especially bloody coil and iridescent stone together and i would argue that he can possibly be the strongest killer in the game.

i start the match trying to trap as many pallets as i can. and its whether or not i stumble across someone that i'll go for a chase. but even if i have only hooked 1-2 people and they have 3 gens done, things can go downhill for them in a hurry!

in situations where you have two people left and 2 or more gens, just go look for the hatch and trap it up.

He's pretty much exactly the same. His new Ultra Rare gives him a decent chance but the devs didn't want to listen and fix the two big problems he has:

Starts with only 1 trap by default.

Traps don't hold Survivors for very long. Maybe 3-4 seconds tops.

When you have to equip TWO Ultra Rare's just so a character can stand a chance then you know you ######### up. At least you'd think they would realize they ######### up...

not only the two ultra rares. stacking the bags also.

try bloody coil with the purple bag or iridescent stone and put a trap under the power switch for the gate the first chance you get. its like noed.

  • Sovereign king was closest

    bloody coil and iridescent stone

trap the power switch at exit gate

Been trying it. Pretty fun. But without iridescent stone. Bring a bag instead.
  • Actually sorry. Honing stone add on is getting warmer

    Wrong addon though
  • Nope. Not even close either of you.
  • when i play survivor i always try to get the middle gen done first

Some of those random traps are in good spots. And all info to start the match is trap up as many pallets as I can Anna it’s whether or not I stumble across someone
  • AshleyWB said:
As trapper ive always wanted to put all traos in one small room like a minefield.
That’s what I do for two gens when I stack the two bags.

I put like 3-4 traps each gen.

  • Just do what you can before the gates are powered and bring end game perks.
  • Yeah I use Michael and the trapper. On the trapper it seemed way more effective for some reason. Maybe need larger sample size.

    However.

With Michael the obsession would still stay close because they would pick up on the fact that I have thenperk sonincouldndown then easily.

Want to stop killers from camping? Buff BBQ and make devour hope a normal perk.

    Killers won't camp anymore.
Lol he’ll yeah. My SwF crushing strategy is camp the first person. But I probably wouldn’t with thsi
  • They should put that in the next test build. No terror radius’

  • I understand the ambush killers.

But playing against a hillbilly or LF with no terror radius would be scary as hell. That’s the point.

Actually the wraith would would be cool because you would only hear his bell to know he’s nearby.

    1) starts with 3 traps but loses ability to hold 3 after placeing the first one, then he can hold 2 by default
    2) can throw traps at a distance right in front of him to set them instead of bending down
    3) Traps have bigger hitboxes and the propt for disarming a trap is only shiwn when looking directly at the trap
    4) New option to manually trap windows and pallets so they will always trap survivors instead of trying to inch around until you think you have the perfect place
    5) Remove the downfalls of all addons
    1) is heading in the right direction.
    2) completely silly
    3) yeah but not too much bigger

  • I always felt with trapper that I need 1 extra trap as a default and accessible traps halfway through the match and I’m good.

    Rework the addons also.

But like how many times do you play trapper and half way through the match you’re simply naked. No traps around.
  • When I first started playing killer I Myers mained to rank one.

Then i started using the trapper and noticed the terror radius doesn’t make much of a difference because you don’t know what angle I’m coming from anyways.
  • But what about if 4 gens are remaining

Just remove the hatch. Problem solved.
I’d be up for that,  it only if the killer lost gen auras for the brave survivor who’s gonna attempt to get them done and a reduced amount of hooks.
If it was just removed you’d end up with a game of hide a seek, which could be just as long and frustrating as a stand off
Proposed several times the perfect solution:
    - remove hatch
    - gens don't regress if there is only 1 survivor left
    - survivor gets a repair bonus that stacks with left behind
    - a counter starts that only stops if the survivor is doing a gen or being chased. after 5 minutes the killer gets every minute a notification like the doctors scream.
Wooow never thought of that. Gen doesnt regress. Pretty good idea.
  • I tweeted them.

I said in a 1v1 where the hatch had spawned, survivors should be “exposed” and the killer has no cool down so he can pick up right away.

Maybe even apply this within 32m of the hatch?
  • I play killer and I love playing SwF teams. I smash them. Enough said. Get good.
  • This is playing solo btw
  • Useful information for killers
  • I would rather have kept the setting times as is and started with a couple extra traps or have them much more accessible

there comes a point in every match where you feel naked.

1 … 4 5 6 7
