Yep, for me, in the UK, before 6pm I have to play survivor, after 6pm I have to play killer.
Of course, I don't have to, but if I try to play the other role, I'll queue for at least 10 mins.

As others have mentioned, the encouragement or endorsement of unsportsmanlike conduct (DCing in this case) is against Forum Rules, please avoid doing so.
In this instance that the OP described where survivors refused to progress the match (no touching gens, only hiding) for 20-30 minutes, this could be considered holding the game hostage, and reportable with video evidence sent to Support for the ACMs to review: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/
While I understand that we shouldn't encourage dc'ing from normal, active games, what, as a Mod, would be your suggestion as to how the OP should have dealt with this? What is BHVRs stance on this?
Being able to report them, is all well and good, but that doesn't help the situation as it occurs. And then it's useless if the OP didn't happen to be recording thier game. Even making suggestions of how to fix this doesn't take away the fact that the OP was stuck in a game for 30 mins. No player should have to wait it out; we just want to be able to play the game.
-
So long as they are locked into the animation for the full duration, then I'd be fine with it.
-
If they want the most players, they need to add Peely from Fortnite.
-
I don't think MMR is supposed work like that. If you want to play sweaty and, because of this, you win a lot, you should very quickly get matched only with other sweaty players. Conversely, if you want to chill, you might lose to the sweat lords, but then you should start to only match with other chill players.
And then, in a game like this, the two modes wouldn't actually play any differently. You'd just be choosing whether you want fair matchmaking (so ranked, with MMR) or un-fair matchmaking (casual, no MMR). Surely everybody would prefer fair matchmaking?

I agree with you. Just from reading the description, I would assume it's increasing the volume BY 50% OF whatever it is currently, and that Iron Will is reducing it BY 100% OF whatever it is currently -- always resulting in 0 if you run Iron Will. I would never in a million years imagine it worked the way people have explained in this thread.
It would be more clear if they described it as "raises volume +50" and "lowers volume -100." At least then you'd have the opportunity to know that it cuts Iron Will in half instead of being cancelled by Iron Will.
I completely agree. It's perfectly reasonable for people to believe that the two percentages are being added separately, as they are being applied by two separate parties.
But it doesn't work like that; the percentages are added together, then applied.
Why have people jumped on this, believing that the OP wants nerfs or buffs? He never said any such thing. Why do people have to put words into people mouths?
And lol to the person who said 100x50=5000%. Where does that % come from? Shouldn't it be 100x50%. Try putting that into a calculator, see what answer you get.

As a rank 5 killer, last night I got matched against a three man SWF, all rank 1. They were cross-play, while the 4th survivor was on the same platform as me. That 4th survivor was rank 19...
Could be that all 4 of them were SWF, but if not... man, that sucks for the rank 19.
Needless to say, I killed the rank 19 and one of the rank 1s, but the other two escaped...

For me, Mori's are just a fun thing to do occasionally. I never use them tactically.
I actually put a Mori offering on Clown for the first time in ages last night. I didn't play any different to how I normally play - no tunneling or camping. I had a really good game and managed to Mori 3 of the survivors. Annoyingly, the last one hadn't reached their death hook, so I had to hook them to end the game.
Thinking about it now, it'd be nice if that got changed - Ebony Mori should incorporate Cypress Mori, so you can still kill the last survivor, regardless of the number of hooks they have.
-
I'm currently having a lot of fun playing as Demogorgon.
-
Annoyingly, I expect this is something that will never be addressed. The reason being that the game runs absolutely perfectly on my Series X.
I still sometimes play on my Day One Xbone, and, yes, that can be a pretty painful experience sometimes. So much so, that now, if I'm playing on that console, I'll mosy likely be playing a different game altogether.
-
It's not a good add on by any means, but Freddys black box has, on a couple of occasions, allowed me to catch and kill a couple of survivors t-bagging me at the unopened gates, who then find out that, actually, they still can't get out.
That always feels good.

Alr, I'll take a look at him, thanks!
No. Don't do it to yourself.
It's painful.
-
So every killer is exactly the same, just a re-skin. Sounds boring for both sides.
That's a hard no.

Trickster exists.
Enjoy.

Myers is also called "The Shape" in the Halloween movies.
I can't speak for mightybear, but I'm going to assume he knows that. That doesn't change the fact that the name "The Shape" has nothing to do with his power.
I'd say that the majority of killers don't have names that reflect their powers.

Well if you want they could always go back to having 3 or 2 people in a game and not kick everyone out. Not like you'd get much anyway since it's 3v1 but points!
Of course I wouldn't want that. But I also don't want to waste my time queueing, then waiting in the lobby, then the load time (which always seems to drag on for a few minutes longer when a game is going to cancel), all for nothing.
I might only have time for one more game, and I've just spent five minutes of my time waiting for a game that didn't even load. Now I've got to go through all that again...
-
Well, what reasons are there? The on screen message implies that somebody decided to disconnect during loading. Is that not the case? I don't think I've ever been kicked from a game during loading...
-
Yeah, I know. But that just shouldn't happen in my opinion. I've just spent several minutes queueing and loading in. They could at least give me a few points.
-
Yep; tunneled, camped and left crying.

Usually when killer DCs after all gens done its because their NOED was cleansed/didnt proc in my experience. Otherwise worst case scenario they will just open gates and wait it out. The presence of small game supports this.
Whatever the reason, it's not good is it. Rage-quitting right at the last minute only happens when the quitter knows they were beat and doesn't want their opponent to get the satisfaction of winning.
But the opponent still knows they won, and all that happens is that you lose all the points (however few they may have been) you've just earned.
-
I know it's not the point of your post, but why did you DC? Because they beat you? Based on those scores, I guess they must've got all the gens done, then you DC'd. That's not a good look.
While I agree that the matchmaking isn't in great shape, it is still possible to beat players that are higher ranks than you. Perhaps you just had a bad game. Maybe they just had a great game.

Victor has helped me get a few end game kills thanks to those big brained plays. Don't discourage it!!! Also, when you 4k as killer make sure to pick up the last survivor and drop them a few times on the way to hook if it's close. That's the killer dance.
I've gotten a handful of kills with Victor like this, but even better is when you have Deathslinger + NOED and you just drag them out of the exit and down them.

The problem with nerfing swf is that not every swf is a sweat squad, some just play to meme around with 4 head on builds or something similar. That's why the alternative, buffing all solo survivors and then killers in a way that doesnt really effect swf is what most people want. To me, the best way would be by giving info to the survivors that would be useless to swf (Such as maybe as soon as a killer gets into the first chase the whole team learns who the killer is, something that is useless to swf bc they can just tell each other).
But most killers don't want to be stuck in a game with a "head-on, meme-making SWF". Why should any SWF be able to do this at the expense of the killer? Most killers just want to play the game. I know I do. By removing one perk (or essentially forcing them to take comms as their 4th perk), they might be less inclined to all take head-on, and just play the game properly.
Buffing solo survivor and killer to give them this sort of information would essentially change the fundamentals of the game.
-
Personally, I don't think it's possible to effectively buff solo survivor (Do SWFs get this buff too (so double buff)? Are you also buffing all killers?). I honestly thing the best thing to do is nerf SWF.
If it were me, I'd give any survivor in an SWF only 3 perk slots (their 4th perk is comms). That's it.
I'd also let the killer know who was in an SWF, and I would give them a bonus for playing against them, to try and discourage lobby dodging.
-
I'm not hugely bothered by SWF myself (and I mostly play killer), but you do have to admit that comms is a huge advantage. Even a simple statement such as "I'm being camped" prevents your teammates from leaving their gens to come and check.

yes. dropping a survivor jumps their escape bar by I think 20 Percent. you can usually only drop them 4 times before the drops and the time they do have to wiggle completes their bar.
I never knew that! Thanks!
-
I play as Pulcinella Clown!
I have a handful of cosmetics, but my favourite is Susie Legion.
-
I just can't see this ever happening. This game relies on human players. How are you ever going to mind-game an AI?
-
Ghostie's mori is a thing of beauty.
-
Surely we can count Jane as a killer? Many a man must've died from a broken heart after an encounter with her.
But, yeah... Schoolgirl Spirt 👌
-
That must've been it. I thought it worked on all survivors - they were probably all awake.
But yeah, it's pretty useless.

They dont have the feature to show what platform a player is on.
I thought not. I always assumed that most of the cross-play people I see are on PS.
Would be interesting to know the split of players over the different platforms though.
-
Not laziness. I'm sure a system that reset everybody to 20 every month would be easy. It's the matchmaking that causes the problem. If everybody just got reset to 20, you'd have "real" rank 1 SWFs stomping rank 20 killers, and "real" rank 1 killers butching rank 20 survivors left, right and centre.
-
How do you know? Genuine question...
I play on Xbox. Mostly killer. More often than not, I get matched up with 4 cross-play players (they have the globe symbol). How do I know what platform they are on? I'd love to know if I was playing again PC or PS players.
-
Of those, Deathslinger is probably my favourite.
-
I'm not sure the AI will ever be good enough for this. I don't know if those AI controlled survivors could behave convincingly enough to be mistaken for player controlled characters.
I did have an idea of my own, for an original killer, which I did think could possibly be used for a Thing licence. However, I realised there was a big problem, which I think would also be problematic for your idea; it'd be pretty difficult to deceive a 4 man SWF.
Maybe I'll post my idea some time, see what people think.

If you buy the dlc then its 11 bucks, if you buy them in-game it will be 500 cells / character (1500 in total = 15 bucks). You should always buy them through the dlc not with cells
Cheers. I'll do that. I do have over 1500 cells in my account right now, but I'm sure I can find something else to spend them on!
-
And what was that price? 500 cells per character as it is right now? Or was the pricing structure different for ST?
-
If your one and only objective is to "KILL THEM ALL!", camping your first hook isn't going to help you accomplish that. Certainly not if the rest of the survivors have any sense.

hmmmm survivor stats i can understand combining but i certainly hope it won't combine killer stats to determine rank, that'll be..... so so bad.
Plenty of killers i don't exactly bring my A game on. Wether i get the wild masochistic urge to practice Nurse in red ranks or goof around on traps only trapper or use some meme build just to do (/farm) for a tome, i'd wager more than half my killers have god awful stats. Then i end up matched with Oni or Pyramid head or Huntress or Deathslinger vs "average" stated survivors and nobody has fun....
They said that each killer will have their own rank. You won't be able to see what that rank is, but, in your example (and assuming you actually lost while using your meme build), your Trapper should have a much lower ranking than you PH.
-
Nah, 1984 wasn't my favourite season on AHS. Although, Twisty (from Freak Show) could make a pretty iconic killer. But then, we do already have Clown...
-
As a console player, I say no thank you. I'll happily wait for a few weeks to ensure that everything works as well as it possibly can. PC is definitely the best platform to test this out on.
-
Quick question: does Head On not cause exhaustion if it doesn't stun the killer? I'm sure I've had survivors burst from lockers, but not hit the stun, to then jump back in the locker and try to hit it again. Is that head on? Or is the something else?

Noise notification?
Are you sure one of them weren't jumping in and out of a locker?
That, or vaulting a pallet.
-
If the novel way to survive is a gun...
...I'd be down with that. I think it could be interesting. Just a single shot, to stun the killer for 5 seconds or something.
-
Dexter only kills other murderers though, doesn't he?
-
- Literally no survivors can repair a generator, as none of them possess the knowledge of how to do so. A failed skill check on a gen would be also be an instant death, as this would actually be the survivor suffering from electric shock.
-
Yep, on my Xbox One. No problems on my Series X though.
-
So your goal as a survivor is to just get 2 people out? Not the whole team? So two of your team would gladly give themselves up to the killer once the 5 gens are done?
I very much doubt that.
-
I'm not talking about BP at all. I'm talking about a killer getting the 4K, which is, as far as the game is concerned, their one and only goal.
Why is it the killer's fault for trying to do exactly what they are supposed to do? They aren't being toxic; they're just not willing to throw the game. If I were the slugged survivor, I'd be wanting/expecting my team mate to come and save me. If the killer was camping me, I'd expect my team mate to continue with their objectives, not just camp the hatch and wait for me to die.
And as killer, I've never considered opening the gate to be forfeiting. To me, that's just starting the EGC to try and apply pressure, in one way or another, to the remaining survivor/s. Having said that, I'm not sure what BHVRs intention was with that...
