I won, however killers shouldn't get stressed playing against survivors far below their skill level. If I'm playing against bad red rank survivors I should be able to have a chill game.

Contrast to when I play survivor and I play against a killer far below my skill level, it becomes an extremely chill game.

I'm a low/mid rank killer, and never get survivors below my rank, let alone my skill level lol. It's only a chill game when I happened to pick the right killer for that specific map.

This. I'm honestly surprised more people don't know about it, since Survivors have given me hackusations about it.

I had no idea. Sometimes you're lucky if a hit registers if there's nothing in between, let alone a fence lol. Half the time you don't know what's intentional, what's a bug,and what's an exploit.

Ohhhh. Level up leatherface pronto. Bbq is the greatest thing for lessing the grind

Yeah that's the main reason I got him. Kinda didn't occur to me until the other day lol. I took like a year or so break because my PC went bad. Switched to PS4. I usually don't buy these sorta things, but got more into the game and wanted to improve. I was always a survivor main, but the queue got ridiculous. At some points it was up to like 10 mins. Seemed especially so when I would make it to purple ranks.

    Isn't it past your bedtime?

As far as the topic, it really bothers me when killers abuse hooked survivors. They don't get any points for it, so why do it? Is it because they're bad(mad) at the game and want to take it out on hooked survivors? It makes no sense to me. I wish that they could be penalized for that, but they won't.

I mean you don't get any points for teabagging a killer 10+ ranks below you, when you've already easily won the match either. Or for blocking the hook with your body, but I guess at least that has a purpose. Same goes for face camping,or tunneling one person. Anything that frustrates or taunts the other side and gains no tangible reward.

The killer has no way to emote like the survivors. Can maybe shake their head at best. Some are probably just saying "gotcha" by doing it. If it's a new player maybe they don't know better and just think its funny,or they are excited they finally caught someone. A lot of the things are stupid and pointless, but I'm sure the person doing the stupid things know what it means lol.

Most people are going to know it's a pointless thing to do. It's wasting time, and could possibly leave you open for a unsafe save by someone with Borrowed Time,or to be blinded so someone can get the save. If they are doing it repeatedly then they are probably just going to camp,at which point it's a free opportunity to do gens. Then they either get one kill,or have to go after the popping gens so someone can get the save. So in theory they are already being penalized.

I play both sides. Mained survivor since launch, and just switched to killer main this year because of the queue times mostly. Maybe they are mad. It happens. There are some pretty frustrating things that can happen on occasion. It wouldn't be easy to penalize,it's the attack animation,ha. Just like they can't penalize teabagging because maybe you are ducking on purpose, idk. With the hitboxes it might be hard for the game to recognize they are hitting you and not the person unhooking you. Sometimes you swing after an unhook and it doesn't count as a hit towards either person already, lmao.

  • @cenoflame said:

It really gets under my skin for some reason, especially when I never trolled or looped the killer during the match. I've never felt like whacking a survivor after I hooked em. It feels like that itself is kind of trolling.

I think it's as simple as 'because they can't emote' sometimes lol. I've done it a few times when I felt like someone was trying to be a jerk or show off,or when there used to be assets that could be abused. Was like me saying "you did all of that and now look at where you are" haha. I do think there's an element of it that's frustration as well. I've whacked a few people that ran me through an unholy loop and cost me the match (even though I should know better) and once when this guy was clicking away on his flashlight to get me to chase him,and he proceeded to run me to this place that had three walls with windows in a row. Basically I thinking it's usually sending a message since there's no way to communicate. Some of the new players probably just think it's fun that they caught someone,or use it for entertainment as they face camp, lol.

  • I don't know. Kinda feel like her face matches her story. And I mean that in the nicest way possible lol.

  • Anyone have any experience with Michael Myers or Ghost Face on Haddonfield? Like does it seem to go well or? I feel like there's a lot of opportunities to stalk, but Myers is pretty slow until he tiers,so the gens might go before he gets cooking.

Im unlucky, I get sent to very good survivor maps and got 3 survivor god setups today. But yeah, most offerings I notice come from killers.

    Game --> Doc, clown

Badham --> Trapper, billy, hag, spirit

    etc.

Call me crazy, but I don't see how Badham could help Spirit. It's my second least favorite map as her. Too many different elevations and things in the way. I could definitely see if being good for Trapper or someone else that has the ability to shut down loops. Hag traps,Freddy snares, etc. I got too many characters too quick and have a hard time deciding what perks I want for my main,so I rarely have any offerings. The Game is a pretty all around good map for any killer. I don't blame anyone for bringing that one lol.

  • @MadArtillery said:

Would be a nice change of pace for survivors to bring haddonfield. 75% of my killer matches are on farm as it's always an offering. Then when it's finally not an offering I go to farm anyway zzzz.

I really don't mind any other map. Its just if you catch someone good in a chase with the wrong killer,it can go on forever there. There's potential to run around the entire map. That's on top of all the drops. It's sorta hard to patrol with gen positioning too. Like,by the time I work my way up or downstairs the thing could pop. It's easy to run a loop through and give it a tap in some cases too. Guess you could say the same about Badham tho. They do always seem to go to the same spots, and I guess some of it you can mind game. I think it's frustration plus lack of variety. There aren't too many maps the community considers killer sided, and I never seem to see them organically. So many maps to see the same one's constantly.

  • @Hippie said:

There's currently a challenge on the archive that requires falling from a great height, and people go to Haddonfield since all of the houses are considered "great heights", so that's probably the reason for all of the Haddonfield offerings!

That's a good possibility. Much just be my luck. Just started up again and got Haddonfield two times in a row again lmao. Like bad matchmaking RNG,haha.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I only like Haddonfield as Pallet Freddy

Yeah I just bought him today. Was probably going to level him up if it keeps up lol.

  • I did main Huntress, then switched to Doctor. Right now Spirit. The only ones I have to 50 are Doctor and Ghost Face. The others I just bought or are stuck at low prestige 1. But mainly Spirit. She doesn't seem good for the map. I just bought Freddy and Leather face today. I have everyone besides Oni,Plague, and Demo...so I'm willing to try pretty much any suggestions.

I almost never see Map Offerings from Survivors. I see them more often from Killers, most likely matching with the respecitve Killer. Like Autohaven-->Nurse or Huntress, Coldwind-->Billy, etc.

And as Killer, I think I got send to Ormond or Haddonfield maybe 4 times in the past 4 weeks (via Map Offering).

Man. Must be a really unlucky coincidence. I just started playing again for the evening. Two matches, two Haddonfield offerings. I might have to switch killers or adapt my build. Just not really sure who or what would be good.

lol there are a few other maps that I don’t like as well. And would prefer some other ones more another one I don’t like is BadHam. Part of that reason is also because I don’t like ham in general 😂.

Yup. That's all I've been seeing too. Haddonfield,Ormond estate,Badham. It wouldn't be so bad if you knew it was coming, but certain killers are at a real disadvantage. Just loaded up a match and again the offering is Haddonfield. First match of the session.

  • @NinjaDette1 said:

Personally I’m not fond of the Haddonfield map myself.I would prefer some other place like lampkin lane. But we have to go wherever It takes us To. Believe me if we ever get the option we’re survivors can pick what place to play at then I would be ok 👌 with that.

Well you sorta can lol. I guess the voting thing was kind of a stupid idea,I wasn't thinking. I get super frustrated sometimes. Not gonna lie. I just wish I'd see more of a rotation instead of the same ones over and over. I may have exaggerated a bit,but I literally haven't seen The Game in so long I can't even remember. I don't think it's come up once since I started playing again in like February.

  • @Deadman316 said:

Is this a PC thing? I'm on PS4 and the only time I see location offerings is when the killer brings them.

No PS4. I guess I should've been more clear. Was just my experience over the past two days. Maybe I'm just getting unlucky. I though it was some new thing I didn't know about. Saw at least 10 Haddonfield offerings in two play sessions. Green rank PS4. I obviously don't know who brought the offerings as far as individual survivors, but all the matches I counted usually had two reds and two purples.

Maybe I just happened to get the people that are good at looping and they know you can do some sick runs at Haddonfield. Was just getting me frustrated and was curious if other people noticed the offering was coming up a lot,and if people still think the map needs a rework, etc.

  • @Cassandra_Alexandra said:

Yup I just played a rank 1 proxy camper. I mean come on I have enough of a hard time as it is dealing with red rank killers tunneling me but this? I had kindred open handed so yes I’m sure that’s what he was doing. The other two were a good distance away and I was waiting in hiding. Finally I gave up and just went for it. Feels good to rant on here though thanks.

I've seen a rank 1 do it with a Huntress and a Trapper. The trapper was a full on face camp. I was kinda surprised, but whatever. I'm sure there's tons of people that didn't get that high playing by the unwritten rulebook.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

"I swear the survivors bring offerings for it 80% of the time."

Could it be possible that you exaggerate just a little bit? I mean, only a tiny, tiny bit?

Everyone's experience is different and I was keeping track at first. 16 matches, two Ormond, two Preschool, one Lab(I brought an offering for). The other 11 Haddonfield with offering. After that I gave up counting (was after 2 sessions on two days) So exaggeration, maybe. Math not great, maybe. But it wasn't really relevant to the point or question/off hand suggestions I posed. Even if I say "Everytime I see an offering it's for Haddonfield, and it happens a lot",it doesn't change much. It's happening enough to be noticeable and annoying.

Slugging is neither cheap nor unfair. The only people that think that are people that subscribe to the survivors rulebook. Thats silly, and as long as you have that mentality youll continue finding playing killer frustrating. Its a 4v1 game, not a 1v1. So yes, sometimes you have to slug. Its part of tge game and earlier in this thread a dev recommended it so its not going to be against tge rules anytime soon. Youre playing the role of a supernatural killer, if you want to be nice play as survivor

Edited to add: as long as you have that mentality youll also be frustrated playing as survivor as everytime youre slugged youll get tilted over the killer being "cheap and unfair" best to just get over it imo

I understand and don't disagree at all. I get infuriated, let alone frustrated. Makes me want to stop playing every time...but I never do. It's especially frustrating when it's a group of rank 1's (that are 10+ ranks above me) and know every trick in the book. They are blocking you with their body, going out the window as you are going in,doing the reverse pallet thing, exploiting tiles, flashlights and keys on deck lol. I never understood it when it always seems to be the ones that are good at looping. I personally dont find situational slugging or camping cheap, but a lot do. Like if I break a gen and a second later it's back on and I can't see the person,I'm going to stay there. If I hook someone and see two people hiding behind walls,is it camping if I wait for them to make a move? I usually only play "cheap" when I feel like I'm being trolled or get especially aggravated after a few matches. But again,I don't disagree, and I see your logic.

Number 1) nothing in what I described is actually camping or tunneling. Survivor mains like to call it that but thats not what just happened.

Number 2) I play killer about 70% of the time. Both sides im at rank 1 and have been for quite awhile. Im not god tier by any means, but im not bad either for either side.

Number 3) Survivors do send me messages, constantly, i dont care. Nobody at a high rank on either side does.

Number 4) you have been brainwashed by those insulting messages into playing the game the way they want you to play and as long as you keep doing so you will continue to be frustrated at playing this game on either side. Youll be frustrated as killer because youll continue to do poorly and youll be frustrated as survivor because every time a killer doesnt abide by the madd up rules you think are real youll think hes cheating of being unfair. You have to get over it.

I get the messages on PS4 even, let alone PC. Even when I turned off messaging...they got around it by sending friend requests with messages attached. It probably does condition you after awhile. I do get the occasional GG,but most of the time it's baseless accusations. I stayed at the hook two seconds too long so I was camping. The one guy goes "GG,but you could've got a 3 or 4k if you didn't camp me" first of all I wasn't camping, and second,if I had an opportunity to 4k why wouldn't I? I rarely, rarely get a 4K anymore. It's usually when the matchmaking gives me anyone of my rank or below, lmao.

DEVS SAID: The killers have enough tools to apply pressure. how? Devs, tell me how.

Ok .. I understand you, I have to play with a trapper without being able to set traps, playing dirty, slugging, yeah really fun.

Do we have to apply pressure? Ok, lets play: Billy, Nurse with addons.

What head fits this term: Killers have tools to apply pressure ... tell me how I do it with: Trapper, Clown, GF, Myers, Leatherface etc ... do I have to ... slugging? Play dirty and suck, of course that is the game you are looking for. Keep it up, ignoring the people who have been playing your game for 4 year and focus on new players.

That's all I have to say.

I still say it's SOME killers have tools to apply pressure. My mind hasn't really changed on that, only solidified more over time. I'm guess it's down to the person and build even, but more often than not, once I hook that first person, and turn around to get the next,we are talking two gens on at minimum. Sometimes it's 3. So now it's down to a choice of stay sorta near the hook,or patrol, and if you choose wrong, you're boned. You don't know if they will even go for the save or finish the gen they are on. Especially an SWF that can coordinate.

I'm not some highly skilled player either, just giving the average experience when I play,so everything is also imo. (And the matchmaking does put me against highly skilled players nearly every match anyways) Some of the slower killers, you almost need something like Discordance,Bitter Murmurs, etc. so you at least have an idea where to patrol because it takes so long. But then there's a slot gone you could've used for something better. I kinda agree with the guys that say a lot of times it comes down to slugging or doing something else players deem cheap or unfair.

    Hi people of the fog,

Its now around 2 days until level 2 comes out for tome 3, so i wanted to to have a discussion about how far everyones got and any tips for getting through the rift, just incase anyone who isnt making it through easy can have more of a chance or just give eachother some advice in general.

At the moment my tier is 18.3 (just had a 3 day break)

I think the best thing to do in the rift is to play killer and survivor side by side,i normally play in the sequence of S,K,S,K,K,S... as i find this method to help me not reach burnout as fast.

(P.s. make sure your playing atleast 1 match of killer and survivor as each day you get bonus xp which i think is around 1200 xp if your doing both a killer and survivor match ^^)

I wish the survivor queue's weren't so long. I usually do the same. Behavior is also extremely good at getting me to spend money, which I almost never do for online games. I get halfway or so through a tier, realize its going to take me forever to do a challenge (or it's beyond my skill level) and BOOM I'm buying a character I didn't have because I'm thinking their challenge might be easier.

I did almost every node of the first two Tomes (and only got to around tier 50 on the rift both times) and I got stuck on the first level here. How do you go from "disturb 50 crows" to "hook 3 people in the basement"? Dude I'm a green/purple rank at best, going against rank 1s. I'm lucky if I get one hook a match sometimes, let alone being near the basement. Sometimes I can't even find it,I won't lie. And the struggle bar seems to go way faster then I remember...

So I decide to do the 3 vaults while chased with Kate (yeah $8 to do one challenge, lol). Got it first try. Luckily I haven't played survivor in months and got a rank 20 Myers that apparently didn't know you could break pallets :) Was a nice idea to start a thread for help and thoughts. I don't get anywhere near as frustrated playing survivor as I do killer.

I just don’t understand how this hasn’t been fixed yet. The game is just unplayable. I can take a ######### game every once in a while but what’s the point in playing if this is how every game is?

I disconnected from a match for the first time in my years of playing yesterday. First guy I knocked down, they got a flashlight save that shouldn't have even worked. I chased the guy with the flashlight, and unfortunately there was a setup that had 3 walls with windows really close together.

By the time I realized I was pretty much in an infinite...turned around to go after someone else,3 gens popped instantly. I swear I only chased him for one loop,so I don't know if the other 3 were on gens the whole time,or they got them to 99,I dunno. I tried chasing the guy a second longer and just got mad and quit. Never don't that before. Found out there was 3 rank 1s and a rank 4. I'm rank 12.

I don't agree with quitting, and I'm not happy I did it. Just got frustrated after match after match of the same nonsense. I even turned my messages off,and people get around it by sending messages with friend requests.

You get frustrated by what they are doing and play even the slightest bit cheap or stay near a hook for more than 3 seconds, someone has something to say. I like to win too. It does get old. I have no problem playing against people of my skill level,it's just some of these guys not only outplay me,they know every trick in the book and find a way to abuse anything possible, even when there's no reason for it.

  • The game itself to be honest. Everything just gets to me somehow. I really love it and have spent tons of money...but the fun just isn't there a lot of the time. Maybe if there was skilled based matchmaking,or they at least didn't put me against people 10+ ranks above me,I'd feel different. I don't want them to be weak, because that's not fun for me or them...just a bit more even and fair.

  • @DelsKibara said:

Hey, it's me again. And no, I'm not going to make a thread about how Killer is Easy this time around ^^; (I still think it's relatively easier than how it should be but that doesn't matter now.)

Decisive Strike, Object of Obsession, Sprint Burst, Dead Hard.

No One Escapes Death, Pop Goes the Weasel, BBQ & Chili, Sloppy Butcher.

These 8 are just a few of the perks that are currently in the game's meta, and each of them helps us win the game in some way or another. Whether it being to make the killer miss a swing and chase for another loop with Dead Hard, bait them with Sprint Burst, bait them with Object of Obsession, surprise Survivors with NOED, break generators with PGTW, find them hiding with BBQ, and so on.

All of these perks are powerful, and no doubt are a must for any build is tailored to making your victory that much more easier to obtain. But what if these perks are locked away from you? And you have to choose from the various other perks that doesn't quite make the cut?

What perks do you use that helps you win, but isn't a part of the meta?

I'll start, it's probably one that some of you might not expect me to run:

    https://gamepedia.cursecdn.com/deadbydaylight_gamepedia_en/0/0e/Distressing.gif?version=d6c4343400d26ecfc54767e95c47a1c1

    Distressing

Your horrifying emanation strikes at a supernaturally long distance.

Your Terror Radius is increased by 22/24/26 %.

    Gain 100 % more Bloodpoints

for actions in the Deviousness Category.

The Bonus Bloodpoints are only awarded during the Trial.

    "Bask in their fear."

    Yeah that's right, Distressing.

Here is the thing, three of the killers I usually play are The Oni, The Doctor and The Spirit. The Doctor, for obvious reasons, can get a lot of mileage from Distressing. His Static Blast and huge Terror Radius would allow him to find out where exactly Survivors are hiding (if they are not hiding in lockers).

But The Oni and The Spirit requires a bit more explanation.

Whenever I play Oni, I always run Infectious Fright. It's just too good of a perk not to use with him. It helps notify me of Survivors that are inside my Terror Radius while I am in Wrath Mode. Which in turn, allows me to hunt them down and Oni-smash them with Demon Strike. Since Oni's power is depleted everytime he picks up a Survivor, having something like Infectious Fright is really useful. Which is why I run it alongside Distressing which would give me a ton of information on where Survivors are at near me.

As for The Spirit. Well, you know how Survivors often run away once they hear her vacuum cleaner coming nearby? Yeah well, they can't hear that if they are inside your Terror Radius. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten gen grabs with this tactic. Even when they know that I am playing Spirit. I know that it is a jumpscare for the survivors because they don't immediately struggle after getting grabbed. Distressing increases her Terror Radius, as such it increases the area of which they are unable to hear her vacuum cleaner.

This one perk, that most people use in Meme Builds is the one perk I always look out for in the Bloodweb. Because it's just that good for the killers I primarily play.

This is why I am making this thread, because I am curious what are some perks that aren't meta that really helps you guys win games as either a Survivor or a Killer and why. Maybe I get to try out some of those perks myself :P

Bitter Murmur. I know it's not a popular one,and might be a waste of a slot in certain circumstances...but I've set up some pretty good plays with it. It's especially fun paired with Monitor and Abuse. You get people running right into you and everything. Almost literally. It's good for locker grabs,or seeing if you are being rushed by a team. I like it. I don't have all the killers or perks for every killer (took a long break) so that factors in. I think I'd still use it on certain builds regardless though.

  • @DelsKibara said:

Wait wait wait, hear me out for a second here.

Before you scream entitled Survivor main, or call me every word in the urban dictionary, please hear me out.

I have reason to believe playing Killer is easy for the time being, and yes I know how absurd that sounds. But please, like I said, hear me out. (If you don't want to read the text-wall, I added a tl;dr)

I've been gone for a couple week's hiatus from DBD and I finally came back to play with Deathslinger a while ago. A while back I thought that playing Killer would have me sweating every game, since that was my experience prior to today. Which is why I took that break because I couldn't take playing DBD anymore.

But when I came back, obviously I was lower ranked but the survivors I faced just felt... Easier. Playing Killer felt more like a breeze, even in Green and Purple ranks where I feel the survivors there are more brutal than the survivors in Red Ranks. I even got a chance to try out and succeeding with killers I don't normally play as including Legion and Oni.

That is not to say playing Killer itself is easier, it's just that I think the skill level of Survivors are getting worse overtime. I noticed this too whenever I play solo Survivor. My teammates tend to either leave me to die on a hook because they need to self-care, or they do risky saves without Borrowed Time. It's getting rather frustrating to see someone tap a gen knowing full well the killer has Pop Goes the Weasel and is about to hook another person. It's like my teammates cannot preserve pallets and make easy deadzones for killer to down you with.

These survivors are becoming more and more common, even people who use OoO in SWF teams feel like they're getting easier to deal with. And no I'm not talking out of my butt, I've faced multiple survivors with OoO who suspiciously look like they are in-comms (going for saves the moment I chase someone indoor, or working on generators far away from the obvious spots they would normally look out for, heck even coordinate on where my Hex totems are.)

There are times of course when I feel like my teammates are competent, last game I had as Survivor someone with Unbreakable helped turned a 4k NOED win for the killer to a NoK all escape win for the Survivor. That's brilliant. And that is the kind of plays I would expect in the rank I am usually in (Rank 6). But those times are very few and far between.

Take this game as me as Ghostface for example. I got looped for 4 minutes because the window and pallet spawns were not in my favour and the Feng Min who ran me around knew how to use it effectively. I had the sunk cost fallacy and just said "Screw it, if I am getting a kill it's from this Feng Min."

But this is the end result instead:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/431/CGAMYLKUCRBD.png

4k. I hardly believed it myself. And this wasn't because I was a godly Ghostface, I actually got looped for 4 minutes yet I still got a 4k. Because her teammates didn't do any generators. They followed her around trying to rescue her to get unhooked. They fought with each other in the endgame chat but I didn't censor their names and I'd rather not be banned on the Forums.

With that said, I can see why Killer is still stressful for a lot of people. It does demand you to split your attention between 4 Survivors and be able to keep track of all of them. Not to mention with the added pressure of generators popping left and right which doesn't help with your mentall psyche when playing as Killer.

But. Right now I think Killer is easy purely because the Survivors themselves, or at least Survivors in the Western Australia region are not as good as their rank should be. I mean I literally just got off a game as Legion where I double pipped against a 2-man SWF with OoO (I know it's 2-man because those two simultaneously gave up and let me down them.)

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/715/KJ9LSV6ZT7Z7.png

And I suck at Legion. I missed a lot of my Feral Frenzy swings that game.

    TL;DR

I think Survivors are not able to keep up with Killers in rank. Both from my experiences as a Solo Survivor and a Killer. I know rank doesn't mean anything, but the fact this is becoming so common is making me concerned about the kind of players Survivors that are becoming common in high ranks. I'm not asking Survivors to git gud or get better immediately, that would be unreasonable. But I do hope this isn't becoming more common, because the challenge of playing Killer is to juggle 4 Survivors at once. It's a 4v1. Not a 1v1v1v1v1, which is what it feels like.

I'm not making this thread to incite hate or antagonize anyone. But I am mainly concerned the kind of survivors I play with and fight against are making the other side easier than it should be. The challenge is gone when the survivors do suicide hook dives and continually run into you.

I hope you'll understand where I am coming from, I don't think playing Killer itself is easy. As it is hard to pick up on the go, especially when you do meet up with survivors who know what they are doing. But right now, at least in the WA Region, I feel like Killer is not as hard as it should be.

Not my experience at all. Exact opposite in fact. As survivor I'm leaving 80% of the time. I switched to killer main because of the queue times. I doubt I'm getting a 4k even 20% of the time.

It was different before they changed the matchmaking. I might get lucky and get players of my rank or below. That seems to be the only time I do well if I'm using anyone but my main killer. With my main,it's a toss up. Usually someone is escaping no matter what, but sometimes I'll overcome better players... usually because they do something trollish or cocky.

The purple's and reds I encounter are usually pretty good. They are either real good at looping,or know ever trick in the book and don't have to be. God forbid you get an SWF with an infuriating set up. You'll find tons of posts saying playing killer is making people want to quit,or ruining the fun factor.

Also, can't back it up with numbers, but I'm assuming the player base in Western Australia is way smaller than somewhere like North America,so that might factor in as well.

I don't think this is a big deal.

Laugh at how sweaty they got for the 1 Escape and move on. You can get your pip/4k another game if you really want it and this one instance of doesn't make DC penalties pointless.

That said, I also don't see any harm with adding a short timer between a DC and Hatch opening to prevent situations like this.

That's a very good suggestion. Usually you just get problems/complaints with no answers or suggestions. You'll then get solo players saying it punishes them, but you can't win when it comes to these things.

I usually just try to run for the hatch as soon as I hook the last person. You can try to pressure them off...or hope your input registers first and closes it,which has happened to me before. Some will hear you coming and try to hide close by. Perfect opportunity to start mashing the button on top of it lol.

As far as the D/C,yeah,can't do much about that, but I think a few second timer wouldn't hurt. Or they could go to the complete extreme and make it not open at all if players disconnect. That'd get the forums fired up,lol. No idea why you'd want to take penalties just for one guy to escape. Just feels like another opportunity to troll and be toxic.

  • The game is starting to not be enjoyable. I have to convince myself it is because I love it so much. But a lot of the time I wouldn't consider my experience fun by any means. The queue's for survivor are ridiculously long. So I main killer. I used to go back and forth, but I just don't have the time or patience to sit and wait ten minutes.

As a killer I'm pretty much gauranteed to lose. If I play "fair" someone is escaping, really doesn't matter who I pick or what I do. I don't think I can get any more "gud". Everyone has their peak. I don't have all the killers or all the perks for everyone. The only time I get a 4k or do decent,is if the game matches me against players of my rank (green) or below. Might kill a red here and there.

I just don't buy the whole "rank doesn't mean anything" deal anymore. At the very least the reds are dedicated players that get more game time or wins. But its usually they know every trick in the book, and will use any exploit or mechanic to their advantage, and then act a fool on top of it. It just gets old.

I've learned a lot though,so I don't totally disagree with everyone. And I continue to come back and play and buy the rift passes and all that stuff, lol. Just kinda wish the matchmaking worked a different way.

I get that asking for a character too much is annoying. But we all gotta agree on one thing. BRENDA!? Who in the #!%$ asked for her and why do people think she makes sense? She is a parody character lol. She has a 0% chance.

Literally have no idea who Brenda is I swear. Is it the girl from Scary Movie? Just a guess.

  • @Uistreel said:

Yeah it wouldn't be terrible, but the devs by the looks of it only want to add 'mainstream' or very popular/known licensed figures to the game. Frank West was kind of that years ago, but really isn't now. There's about 200 people playing throughout all 5 of the dead rising games right now compared to 12.5k for the 2 left 4 dead games (the other licensed game character). Same thing goes for the Brenda account on twitter, not that many people know who that is, not that many people care.

True, but doesn't account for console numbers and other things. Personally I couldn't have named a single character from Left 4 Dead. Played both games. I Literally had no idea that was what Bill was from. I wasn't playing during the time he was added (my PC broke and I took like a year long break then went to console) so he was just there when I got back. Definitely know who Frank is. Everyone is different. They don't seem to be adding many licensed guys anymore anyways. I mean it's been awhile at least. Last 3 were unique.

  • I think there's potential to make some good

    @ZoneDymo said:

I mean, yeah...another survivor....great? I mean they are just skin jobs so who cares? they could add brenda as well, would be exactly the same thing.

I think there's some potential for some good perks if it's a fully fleshed out survivor. I mean there's already a journalist type character, but I'm sure they could do something cool involving the camera aspect.

  • @ChaosCriminal112 said:

It does feel random sometimes. I've had people reveal me through trees. Maybe they revealed me before I got behind the tree due to lag? I don't really expose people as GF unless they don't know I'm there. I tend to use his power to get a hit in before the chase begins.

Yeah that's pretty much how I play too.

  • @CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:

I've tried to main spirit for the past month, and imo, she is hard to master. Because you can't see the survivors or their auras while phasing, you need to rely on audio and small details of, for example, grass whilst predicting where the survivor will go.

Though, recently when I played a normal spirit game, I won a really close match with a swf (1 gen left and it was a 16 minute game) and the survivors kept abusing the endgame chat because, and I quote:

"Stop playing such a skilless character and go play a normal killer, you rank 6 boosted ape cun*"

It seems like on the survivor's perspective, spirit is just a free win once you start playing her, not even try to practice. All her add-ons are "op" and her power is "completely broken and needs a rework". I'll be honest, these survivors could lose against any killer because they were ######### around instead of doing their objective and such, so I don't understand, should I not rely on their mistakes and win? Should I just let them leave?

So, my question is, for you, as a player, do you think that spirit is completely skilless? Please let me know down below.

    Cheers!

Not at all. I had a hell of a time until I learned her. I can think of a few I'd say require little skill, but people probably wouldn't agree because everyone is different. I don't really see much difference between her and Billy's chainsaw, for what it's worth...just Billy can actually,ya know...see. Depends on what perks you use too I guess. I use Rancor,Haunted Ground,Thrilling Tremors, and Bitter Murmor. Don't feel like that's OP lol.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

People don't seem to have any trouble kicking me out of stealth when I play GF.

Same here. Swear to God if I'm within a mile of someone that isn't even looking at me I get popped out. Could be a server thing as some people are saying. Some people have different skill levels as well so idk, lol.

  • @deadbydaylight_10 said:

First of all, not only the killer hits you a mile away, the hillbilly's chainsaw is broken it's like they got there "dedicated servers" from the dollar store and they also want to nerf the gens good job Behavior.

The Dollar Store doesn't sell servers tho. Be cool if they did.

  • @Waterfall said:

Next patch they’re slightly reducing a couple map sizes removing infinite loops and slightly reducing coop repair speed. Other than the slight coop repair nerf everything else are fixes to design flaws. Please elaborate on how survivors are going to struggle. Unless of course you were exploiting these design flaws to gain an unfair advantage over the killer.

That sounds good to me and I main both sides.

  • @Actionjacksn said:

If the killers are overpowered, overbuffed power role as said in this forum nowadays than why the surv que times are bad because less and less killers playing and there are not enough red rank killers? This game should be full of red rank killers and full of purple/green rank survivors in this case, and killer que times should be bad because of everyone wan to play overpowered killers and go easy mode. I just can't understand it.

There are people that left for all kinds of reasons. Didn't like some changes or whatever (nerfs, buffs, reworks etc). Some people probably don't like to go against people multiple ranks above them, get destroyed and get teabagged or whatever.

I'm rank 10 and was in a match with some ranks ones...one stood there and teabagged me instead of leaving...and the other ran around and tried to flashlight blind me instead of leaving. That gets old. Just an example to say I personally know some people that left because of toxic messages etc. Maybe the game just wasn't fun anymore or they moved to other things.

I feel like there was a time it was the power role,or at least felt more powerful. Now it's down to what killer, what perks,and/or how many thousands of hours have the survivors played. The ones that really loved the game did adapt, even if they complain from time to time. So I can't disagree with the other comments. The killer has more things to do as far as offense, but has more things to worry about. Survivor can only do gens and leave.

  • I used to main Huntress, got her to prestige 2...but I dunno...it started to not feel viable for me at higher ranks. I think that's why I switched but I can't remember. Then I mained Doctor. He can be pretty good in terms of survivor visibility, lots of things really. I used to main survivor but the queue got too long.

Now I kinda just jump around trying to level up everyone. I buy a new guy or two every month. I really like Spirit. I enjoy the ones with a speed element. Deathslinger is interesting if you like Huntress. Really enjoy Ghost Face. If you like stealth he can be really fun. I just got The Legion today. He definitely doesn't seem great but maybe I'm not using him right lol. I don't like any of the slower killers at all.

Glad to see you went with Huntress first choice though. You don't have to camp with her to be effective. I don't see why you'd get hate. That's what you are supposed to do lol. This community can be very toxic. But there are a lot of guys especially here on the forums that are really helpful and knowledgeable. And there's a good few that are very sportsmanlike and against any of the hate

You're ignoring copious amounts of post that have said this exact thing.. that this patch will ruin the game. All because God Loops are being changed. Not only that, a stupid rumor that they are changing pallets was started so people freaked out.

While Killers seem to win more than 50% of their games across all ranks, and around 75% of their red rank games, survivors can win every single game if they just did generators. Even if the killer kept hooking over and over, survivors can finish all gens quite quickly. So this is a mix of survivors being too afraid to do gens and killers having a ton of power.

Based on stats, killers are obviously powerful. There's a post of a Rank 12 Killer that was matched against all Red Ranks complaining.. the crazy part is that they 3k'ed them.. and theyre still complaining. I play killer more than survivor and I started to realize how powerful the role is.

Where are you getting those stats from? Are we counting a win as a 4k? Doesn't sound right at all. At green/purple rank,no way I get 50% win rate. There's just no way. I'd say literally 80% of the time at LEAST one person escapes. I know I'm not the only one either. Now if you are talking a different criteria for a "win" or talking about when the matchmaking actually matched you with people of your rank...that's a different story.

As survivor I've been definitely winning 75% of the time, even at green and purple. I just have to disagree with you. Depends on the killer. It's going to vary on perks and skill level as well, but I don't get a feeling of power playing a lot of these guys. Some of them they have gens on before you can get set up or even get across the map.

The thing with reds is,the skill gap between them and a low rank player can be very small,or so huge it's ridiculous. I stay at about rank 10,and sometimes I don't know they are reds when I'm playing, and sometimes I'm so out matched it's obvious. Sometimes I can beat them and sometimes I can't. Sometimes it's infuriating and they add insult to injury with messages or antics. It's not so much fun after awhile.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Just drop rank by waiting for resets or make a new account on console. Play a new killer. Do some Survivor archives in the meantime.

With the list of killers that you've given us, I'd suggest a stealth killer that isn't Myers, so probably Ghostface, and play for the hunt. Be an unseen predator and play for the ambush. It is so much fun than the usual "Go to generator, find survivor, CHASE survivor, down survivor, hook survivor, kick generator" loop a lot of other killers fall in to.

Toy with the survivors and control the match in its entirety. The hunt is better than the sacrifice.

Dropping rank might not even help at this point. You can get red survivors at any rank now. I was getting them at rank 18. Also have seen red killers go against a team of low ranks and greens on occasion,so idk. It's really rare to see a match with everyone the same rank, anymore.

Using the English version is standard, most people would figure out how items/perks/add ons by trial and error, or using a translator which is very inaccurate most of the time..

Oh wow. I'm kinda sad to hear that. Hopefully they will work on it someday. Is there a mod or something for PC that can translate?

  • @Todgeweiht said:

You people want to be spoonfed by the devs.

both you killer and survivor mains are so goddamn annoying, is it really that hard to get better at the game? Why blame everything on "da genrush" and "muh NOED"?

Man getting good only goes so far,for real. Pro gaming wouldn't be a thing if some people didn't have a higher level of ability, you know what I mean? I got way better than I was by playing against better players, but with my disabilities,I'm never going to get as good as the top streamers or whatever.

Im usually green/purple and still get matched with reds like everyone else. Some of them are so good it's insane. For example,I enjoy Street Fighter and its like... imagine every other match I have to play against one of the best players in the world. That's not going to be very much fun after awhile. Might get better, might get completely destroyed. And then get mad and get destroyed every time from lack of focus, lmao.

I understand what you mean though,I really do. There's some underlying issues that need solved. I used to main survivor and switched to killer because of the queue times. After awhile I kinda started to play with the mentality that someone is going to escape and I don't need to win. Keeps me from getting too mad or complaining too much.

  • @Hopesfall said:

This game has gotten really stale for killers at red ranks post ruin nerf.. roll your eyes all you want, it's truth. If I want to try interesting builds that deviate from the 6-7 "meta" perks for killers, gens fly and it's generally a miserable experience. You will of course have some wins, but more often than not, Brutal Killer/Displeased is your result.

Survivors can run meme or thematic builds all day long because they have 3 other people to carry them. If i want to run an all hex build, stealth, or perma injure build.. it might work a quarter of the time. Injured people at high ranks just split up and sit on gens so it doesn't really matter.. plus they get dead hard constantly.

I realize X killer may have Y build that works for them, that only proves that you're being pigeonholed. "If you want to use this killer, here are the perks that actually work".

I am essentially locked into using the same build for every killer unless I want 3 chases and the game to be over in 5 mins. Boring.

    BBQ / Corrupt / Pop / Discordance /// Nurses / Monitor

"THEN JUST SLUG" - no thanks that's not fun

"DONT WORRY ABOUT RANK" -- maybe I don't like seeing "Entity Displeased" every game when I try experimenting

"PLAY ANOTHER GAME THEN" - i have been thanks

Sure would be nice to be able to run interesting builds without being absolutely punished by the game.

It's pretty much true for any rank to be honest, with how matchmaking works.

    Hello everyone!

I've recently come across a Steam thread from 2017 in which Bianca from BHVR talks about a possible Arabic translation of the game, she ponders if it's something the community is heavily invested in, I'll link for the thread down below if you're interested it.

I was wondering if this can ever reach development? The DBD Arab community is a large one to say the least and multiple Arab streamers and content creators are getting constant support from their respective audiences on their DBD content.

Obviously there is a lot to unpack when it comes to accurately translating entertainment media (Seen in many perk descriptions translated from French to English).. But I was wondering if there ever is an intention, and if there is, I'm happy to volunteer!

    Thank you for considering.

Ps4 is not fine lol I’m having errors along side many others if you go into the ps4 dbd community then you’d see people having errors aswell don’t say it’s fine if you don’t play on ps4

I already replied to you a second ago brother. I am on PS4. I said I had one error and then it worked fine for like 2 hours but was taking some time to fill the lobbies. So it must be hit or miss. My bad about that.

  • @GHOSTfaceP3 said:

I’m on ps4 and I can’t seem to find a game as survivor it keeps giving me a “error”

Okay so that explains that. Must be only affecting certain people on PS4. I got an error the first match I tried and then it was fine. Just seemed to not be getting a full lobby every time and having to wait for people to join, which is unusual as killer on PS4. So yeah,I guess something is going on :/

  • I've heard the same thing but can't attest to it personally. Just making sure. PS4 is absolutely fine at the moment,as far as I could tell. Kinda seemed to never be a full set of 5 people in the lobby at first, which was sorta odd. Happened like 8/10 matches. Could just be server stress or ISP throttling, but hopefully you get an answer bud.
