Or you could look at it like 'I'm helping my team win by keeping the killers attention.'
"Im helping my team win but I dont get to play the game I have to sit here and lose because I couldn't find a pallet in time."

I got your point but if people did get banned it would reduce how often it was done.

Get banned over it? Please.If people got banned for most things others didn't like, we wouldn't have mutiplayer games.
this isn't just doing something the other person doesn't like its FORCING one person to literally sit still for two minutes and lose until you say so

You won't be banned for farming alone as long as everyone wants to participate, however forcing survivors to farm against their will can be considered griefing. For example, sandbagging a survivor that doesn't want to farm so they get hooked can fall under griefing.

See thats a problem right there. "Its part of the game" people just write it off and let it happen. The devs dont care to do anything about it no matter how many players they lose. When the game stops being a game and becomes a hostage situation like that thats when someone in control should say "Okay you're ruining this game for someone so you should be punished". Its like if someone is cheating...its ruining the game for people and thats bannable...so why shouldnt face camping. Its simple. Measure the terror radius to the hooked survivor X the amount of time the killer stood there X if the killer was facing any other direction = your formula if it was a bannable offense or not by set parameters. If survivors were to constantly be bullying a killer by some means I would say ban it as well. I am 50/50 players so I know the frustrations on both sides.
I play more killer than survivor for this very reason but with gen rushing and broken loops I've thought about quitting killer as well and leaving this game all together frankly

I'm a survivor main. Trust me I feel your pain. But it is what it is. Do gens and get the 3 out. Yeah you de-pip. But you are who you are as a player and you will get those pips back. Yes face camping sucks. I also scream at the killer like he can hear me. But its part of the game.
Im not even a survivor main Im just doing challenges but its things like this which make me HATE playing survivor.

Like I went against huntress on coldwind and could not for the life of me find a pallet, she downs me while 5 gens are still up, face camps me, tunnels me to death, waits out DS, I ended up dcing before she could hook me twice just to deny her some points but thats the third time its happened TODAY like all I wanna do is reach tier 70

Playing on xbox is INFINITELY better than playing on PS4. PS4 gives extremely poor framerate when playing most killers, seriously overheats the PS4, the controller is wonky, and overall really isn't that great.

Very old and tired discussion. You're not breaking any new ground with this post at all. Let me explain something very simple here.
It doesn't matter how good of a killer you are, there will be games where all 5 gens get done. Automatically assuming that a killer "performed badly" because the gens got completely is not only TOXIC but it's also entitled. You assume you should win the game by just getting all 5 gens done, but you also have to open the exit gates and you're upset that there's an opportunity there for the killer to get some last minute success. Boohoo.
Once again, no matter your skill level as a killer, there are games where all gens will get completed. Especially if you're using a weaker killer like Wraith or Trapper. I could NEVER be angry at a Wraith, Trapper, or Clown for using NOED. Getting angry at that sort of stuff just suggests you only see this game from one side, which is very common. It's quite rare for people to be just as passionate about playing both sides. Most players are more partial to one side, and that's why posts like this are created. They don't understand WHY the other side does certain things and the immature response is usually "Well that killer is trash" or "that survivor is trash." For instance Scott Jund was recently called "a complete trash killer" by another streamer for "camping" the basement even though he showed footage that he wasn't even camping. It was just that particular survivor's one-sided and completely entitled perspective.
tl;dr Stop being immature and just automatically calling the other side trash just because they do something you don't like or use a perk you don't like
I literally play killer more than anything but okay Mr. "You dont like something I like so you're an entitled toxic survivor main."

That's the point though. The goal of the killer is to apply pressure, force them to do other objectives like Altruism, Chest-Searches, Totems, etc. It's why it's apart of the game. You don't even need all 4 survivors looking for totems, it can be one. Hell they even gave you a perk that heals you automatically if you had cleared a totem to slow down Gen rushers and take on the other (minor) objectives in the game.
On top of that, NOED isn't only for bad killers. I've gone up against killers who never needed it because they demolished everyone 2-3 gen pops in. It's also utilized specifically for endgame builds.
And the goal of the survivor is to not get hooked and thats all DS does so whats the problem

Maybe take the stab next time

DS also can't be deactivated by literally just holding a button for 14 seconds.
NOED is a high risk, high reward perk, like all Hex perks. With it, you essentially only have 3 perks until the Endgame. Survivors have a method of disabling NOED from the beginning of the trial without completing their primary objective and its effects are only present at the trial's end. If a survivor finds the totem, you only have 3 perks total throughout the trial.
DS is a low risk, high reward perk. The Killer has no method of disabling it from the beginning of the trial without completing their primary objective and its the presence of its effects are at the survivor's discretion. If you use it early or mid game, you force the Killer to waste time by either avoiding you in a chase, slugging you (which opens up the possibility of Unbreakable or being revived by teammates), or eating the stab. If you use it at Endgame, you can very well reward your entire team with an opportunity to escape the trial as the killer takes the stun. DS has an incredible amount of benefits over NOED and has practically no downsides for doing so, outside of having 3 perks for the entire game should you choose to use it early on.
NOED takes 80 seconds to deactivate DS only takes 60. Against a killer who doesn't tunnel you're left with 3 perk slots all game, Killers have a method to make sure DS never activates AT ALL they don't even have to disable it they just have to not tunnel the unhooked survivor. The presence of NOED is at the killers discretion until after the game is over or its served its purpose. If you equip it at all survivors are either forced to hand the killer 80 seconds of free time or sacrifice one person at end game.
-
@holywhitetrash said:
because noed can be completely turned off and ds cant and each survivor can have ds, the killer is playing against a clock so them wasting time is way more detrimental
and the number of games where noed went off and lasted longer than 30 seconds is probably less than 5% for me even lower for noed getting more than 1 kill
lets not pretend adrenaline isnt a reward for bad survivors... it will literally wait to activate if the survivor is on hook or being carried
Adrenaline isn't bad if you played well. The only time Adrenaline is a problem is if you've already lost the game and 4 survivors are still alive at that point just take the L.

But it's not just a 5 second stun. It's a five second stun and that survivor is back into the game and doing gens if you don't decide to chase them, or a 5 second stun and a god knows how long chase depending on the map and tile spawns if you do chase them. DS can completely prevent a killer from snowballing or stop it if they have already begun snowballing. Getting off a gen for a minute or so while the other survivors are on gens most likely isn't going to cost you the game, unlike picking up DS and taking the stun.
And NOED isn't just a 14 second M1 its 80 seconds being handed to the killer to which they can down survivors, force survivors off gens, apply immense pressure, and leave almost no one on any gens. You're basically giving the killer an additional gen by cleansing totems due to the added time.

you cant compare these two at all tho...
i dont even know how you got the idea to do it, but it really does not work.
You really can easily compare them since they both are just perks that are relied on for when you mess up rather than getting good and both are majorly unfun, majorly unskillful, and the counters to both is basically ending the game for your team. Taking 80 seconds (adding distance between totems) and giving it to the killer is extremely detrimental thats why ruin was so amazing because it gave the killer an extra minute to do whatever and snowball the game.
-
@ZFennecFox said:
It's a Hex that should be cleansed before it's even activated any experienced survivor will search for totems at the last gen.
Its not a reward its a perk Just like any other stop being salty.
DS is on a 60 second timer that shouldn't be activated by not tunneling a survivor off hook. Any experienced killer will just take the stun. Its not a reward its a perk just like any other stop being salty.

Let’s not pretend that ds rewards survivors who fail at looping after being unhooked. I guarantee that survivors who use ds have never 5 gen looped a red rank killer btw

@Mister_xD said:
if you cant spend 1 to 2 minutes of your trial cleansing totems, you shouldnt be complaining about NOED.
do.
the.
bones.
it literally has nothing but benefits for you! you get BP, emblem points and can deny the killer a decent endgame perk!
wanna know what the first thing is i do as a survivor when i enter a trial? yeah. i do the bones. and i can easily take down 3 totems in just a minute or maybe two (depends on the map, really), imagine how fast you could get them done if everyone was to do them, instead of only focussing on genrushing the killer and literally leaving a totem uncleansed that is right next to the gen they work on in plain line of sight.
Just take the DS stun! If you can't take 5 seconds out of your trial being stunned, you shouldn't be complaining about DS.
Take.
The.

It got me too, both as killer and survivor. Went from 5-13 survivor and 7-13 as killer. Killer isn't much problem since I mostly play that, but survivor side, holy crap. My favorites are the ones that run to the corner of the map after unhook, even though the killer is nowhere to be seen. JUST LET ME HEAL YOU!!!
Or the ones who try and force the heal when the gen is 95 like lets finish the gen first

Yes, it does. It gives the person on hook a fighting chance.
Current BT is way overtuned. It has received buff after buff. It is pretty much only used to unhook in the Killer's face and not receive any punishment.
You want a new suggestion? Here:
If a Killer remains in the vicinity (24m) of a hooked Survivor for more than 15 seconds, without other Survivors being present, BT can be used. This prevents the abuse from people abusing it and it keeps it as an anti-camp tool.
Thats the biggest nerf ever and would literally kill the perk. IMO it should just apply to whos using it. Meaning if I have BT and someone farms me, I'll get the BT effect. But if I unhook someone who doesn't have BT they wouldn't get it that way it doesn't encourage farming
-
BT is balanced as is and currently something that counters camping which we all know is something insanely hard to counter especially in solo
-
@Pulsar said:
Because the amount of times I've been put into a lose-lose scenario as I've been walking away is staggering.
I hook someone after a decent chase, I walk maybe 10 meters away, they get unhooked. I can hit the unhooker and start another long chase, or I can hit the unhooked guy and start a long chase.
Bad plays should be punishable. Blueberry suggested to transfer the damage and I think that works well for everyone. It still counters camping but at least you get some value from it.
That doesn't counter camping in the slightest what?
-
@Peanits said:
I don't mean to sound like I'm strongly against it or anything, but I do thing this sorta' undermines the point of a hex perk. The idea behind a hex is that you get a strong effect, but risk it being taken away.
On a more technical level, this would probably cause some issues when you have multiple hex perks, since you'd quickly run out of dull totems for your hex to respawn on.
Wheres the strong effect of ruin?

@Deadeye said:
@Weck @kate_best_girl Also, I would add to "almost handy" if the increased recovery made the difference to get you up to 95 fast enough so someone was able to raise you in time, that would not have been possible without Unbreakable when the killer is already approaching. Maybe a rare situation, but killers tend to stay close to slugged people.
I will add that too my tests! Although it doesn't change the current stats since in all my useless games I wasn't slugged at all

I would like to throw in the rarity of actually listening to player feedback??? We all screamed and shouted "PLEASE DO NOT REWORK RUIN!!!" and it was done anyways. Im not sure if you remember, but back in March of 2019 Thana was buffed MAJORLY!!! It was changed from leveling up by 6/9/12/15 to 6/12/18/24. This buff was regarded as not that bad and no one ever complained about it. It was a great perk and overall people started using it again. So then they took away the buff and in all honesty nerfed it to how it is now. It went from 6/9/12/15 to 4/8/12/16. As you can see a 1% buff that only applies when EVERYONE is hurt isn't much of a buff. I feel as though they ignore us too often and are just fixing mistakes they made in the past not actually working on what we want.

Actually a really good idea. Mrs JawsIsTheNextKiller either runs Unbreakable and never gets slugged or replaces it with DS and never gets "tunnelled".
Always followed by, "I told you I should have left Unbreakable/DS on".
Life hack, run both!

I realised that the perk is very effective against shack and jungle gyms, so its pretty good
Thank you! Thats the idea I had in mind for jungle gym tiles like especially on Ormond where theres a bunch of confusing windows lumped with pallets, and you dont waste huge amounts of time on shack since you don't gotta worry about them looping around it since they can't even go in the area where the pallet is

I dont think it would make the perk much stronger, this sounds like a bad Bamboozle, not only it has a huge cooldown, but you also have no control over it. Im sure it could throw surviviors off, but Im not sure it would be worth the perk slot. Also I dont think you specified for how long the pallet will be blocked.
Its main idea was to counter killer shack loops and force a survivor from abusing a window pallet structure for too long
-
Unbreakable - cause its trash and way too situational
NOED - even tho its kinda needed rn, yeah it rewards bad play
