The only feedback I could come up with is that Dr. Nagao works in BHVR and want to throw Sadako in the well as quickly as possible.

And then they filled the well with concrete!

  • I thought we don‘t get a chapter for the next 2 months lol.

I agree the current version is the worst version ever, but survivors would still turn off all TV around them to avoid killer teleport to them, no matter global condemn or not.

So the condemned spreading via opened TV is not viable.

I think the previous version of global condemned is just good.

They just need to make the condemned lesser via teleporting and add global condemned via basic attack as a compensation in order to encourage chasing survivors and teleport lesser.

I actually believe that they won‘t take many tapes when there is no global condemned and the passive condemned from holding tapes would also make people not taking tapes. That in the end would also make one Tv condemned better, because they won‘t be turned off and the proximity change I suggest would also buff condemned in a good way. But that’s just my opinion.

Your idea with basic attacks giving everyone condemned is cool too, they should definitely think about it.

I only don‘t like global condemned, because it always leads to people turning off TVs.

  • Ring drawing is terrible now. When they don‘t have a tape it doesn‘t do anything and for lock in it isn‘t even worth to hook, but at the same time you have to hook, because condemn is terrible.

The old effect should return, it was far better!

  • Well played, but please don‘t make behavior think she is in a good spot!

I can‘t quite understand how they lost that bad as high prestige’s, but they might not know how she works or ignore condemned. You got a bit lucky with the map it’s mostly deadzones after you broke some pallets. And please explain to me how your gens aren‘t flying.

  • I want to add that your locker should be highlighted with an aura, when head on is active, so that you could help your teammates with a stun.

I think this is a nerf and encourage killer to focus on a single survivor with condemned.

Maybe that could happen, but condemned will always encourage to go for the highest condemned person, so there won‘t change much.

The thing is her current version is worse than her first and second one. The first one allowed good tp gameplay and ok condemned. The second one allowed very good condemned and bad tp gameplay. Now her third version is just her second version with bad condemned and no tp cooldown, which doesn‘t change much, when all TVs are turned off.

I try to explain why her tp part got worse: There are two essential factors. 1. The second rework made all survivors turn off all tvs near them, because they want to counter her condemned. Same goes for her new rework. 2. Tv auras make it impossible/ very difficult to use her teleport in chases/ approaches (to get close to survivors through the Tvs), because survivors do always see the aura disappear.

All in all I think my ideas above would allow both ways to be in a good spot without only focusing on one aspect, because global condemned will always make survivors turn off TVs around them. And if they feel like my idea makes condemned too weak, they could add that survivors get condemned regardless of teleporting after some time (every 30-60s you get one stack).

  • I played her after the update and it’s a terrible experience. I wouldn‘t advice anyone to play her.

Her condemned is not existent and her teleport is in it‘s weakest state ever.

They should give us her first version back, it was the best in terms of gameplay. You could chose between condemned and chase and you got good results with both ways. Now her teleport is weak AF and condemned is non existent.

Many people said she was weak in her first version, where I disagree. She was a really fun and good killer, but not for everyone, which is fine. They should have buffed her first version and she would have been perfect.

One big problem of the global condemned versions is that survivors will always turn of her TVs. I really enjoyed the teleport part of her power and that you could go for condemned in her first version, but it wasn‘t forced like in the past two versions, where survivors turn off all her TVs to counter her.

Yes this is a big issue in any version of her where the survivors are encouraged to engage to grab tapes as part of her counterplay. When this is the case, survivors will grab tapes to avoid condemn, while also denying her mobility in the process. Any system with global condemn (2.0 and 3.0) forces these changes though because survivors have to address condemn aggressively and turn off TVs.

As such, I much prefer it when the condemn threat comes from only 1 TV upon Projection with a higher threat to carrying a tape like in her release version. It was harder to build up but her mobility was not punished nearly as badly. Her release version was fine perfectly balanced in this aspect; to avoid condemn survivors would have to run away from TVs if she teleported in chase. If their condemn got too high by constantly working gens in high traffic areas she teleported to, then they would have to be smart and do a tape run without getting caught. Grabbing a cursed tape (watching it) and then dropping it off (copying it) was a good counterplay mechanic and was very true to her lore. Survivors would be at the most risk of condemn when they touched her TVs.

This resulted in Sadako having a good balance of condemn pressure and mobility since her TVs would almost always be on by survivors where she needed them; this is in contrast to her reworks where TVs are almost always off where she needs them. In 1.0 if survivors really needed a TV off at a critical area to deny her power, such as an almost completed gen or to get a safe unhook, they could always take the TV tape first to deny her mobility and assume the new condemn risk that comes with it. Her release power in my opinion really was the best in terms of risk reward counterplay for her.

Therefore I really hope they go back to her first version and buff it. I think that only the one tv you teleport to should give condemned and then the area is split in three parts like I wrote above, where you get more condemned the closer you are to the Tv, when she teleports.

  • It’s a cool addon, but I find it difficult to stalk survivors, because of that I get rarely value out of it.

That’s fair! I like your changes. A lot actually.

I just hate hate hate hate the Cooldown timer on condemn. If it stays I accept it on 1 condition. The TV 📺 I come out of ppl get condemned within your mentioned parameters. 😍

Do you think the devs will read the feedback this time and do something with it? I‘m really depressed about what they did after the ptb, everyone said she was either ok or needed buffs and then this. They also said they will eventually gut other playstiles, when they are effective, which makes me think the rework was only there to gut her entirely.

I’m not entirely sure to be honest, my friend, truthfully, I don’t play this killer hardly at all. I can only tell my experience based off as a survivor when I’ve gone against him.

before he was reworked, I could loop him for days, it was really easy. In his current state I can loop him for a little bit, but not nearly as long. (to be fair though I don’t use windows or any exhaustion perks. I’m a healer when I play Survivor.)

My experience was completely different. Most times he was already really oppressive, but I can‘t tell how it was to play him, I only played him 3 times before the rework.

Facts! This game has been in survivors favor for a loooooooooooong time. We are just now getting them balanced out.

When playing against a good killer the rounds are mostly a miserable experience, especially when you play with friends that aren’t playing dbd much. Recent map reworks made everything only worse! Also most survivor perks are just weak or in an ok spot, but there is no strong one. The survivor meta is terrible bad right now and if they nerf it more there is no point in playing survivor. They should finally bring all killers in a good spot, so they can‘t use bad killers as excuse of nerfing survivor always.

  • @Skillfulstone said:

The perk didn't even need a true nerf to begin with. Most people heard Otz say "STBFL" and "problematic" in the same sentence and started to complain about one of the handful of chase perks that weaker/M1 Killers can use effectively but that the powerhouses can't really use as well.

The perk was powerful when tunnelling/camping it's true, but it was also one of the few things that made M1 Killers playable at a higher level. Instead of only fixing the issue (it's potential in camping/tunneling situations) they completely killed the perk in every aspects EXCEPT it's potential in camping and tunnelling.

Literally all they had to do was deactivate the perk when too close to a hooked Survivor and make the perk not work when hitting basekit BT. That's all, M1 Killers keep a good chase perk, strong Killers don't really care, tunnelling and camping is not encouraged anymore, everybody wins.

The perk is literally now only good as a tunnelling tool, a Killer with this perk will actively ignore the Obsession (since there's no longer synergy with some powers to avoid stack loss) and unless the Obsession blocks a doorway or some other narrow path then it'll be generator simulator for them since the Killer will not interact with them.

True it was fine and the only problems it had, were ignored. Now everyone with this perk will ignore the existence of the obsession and the other things you said.

I personally have not had any issues going up against him. I think he’s a little on the weak side personally.

He is in an awkward state right now until they correct it. Behavior already mentioned that they were going to fix him. His animations are off, his knife throwing speed is off, and they need to move his speed back to 4.4 and buff his knives allowing him to throw them faster to match his animation.

I actually thought he was alright and really strong before the rework (I can‘t quite understand, why they buffed him).

    I agree! :)

As long as the condemn is a bit more threatening! I do enjoy your thoughts and ideas around this. I’ve read your post a few times.

A lot of people including myself I think at this point are getting confused on how her power works because it’s been altered and changed so many times 🤣

Thankfully, I’ve been playing her from the beginning, so I pretty much remember how it worked. I really miss the old tapes though.

They could do those changes I suggested above and add that you get one stack every 30-60s regardless of doing something. So people wouldn‘t spam condemned and through skillful teleport you could condemn someone faster.

  • I played her a bit more and her condemned is nearly not existing and all the relevant TVs are always turned off.

As I said I wanted her old version, I wanted everything how it was with buffs and not that I can‘t use her TVs. Also her teleport is in his weakest state ever.

  • @Skitten56 said:

I see a lot of people suggesting that they add ticking condemn back to survivors holding a tape. However I think there is a problem with this. This is because BHVR needs to address the counterplay issues in her kit, as a priority but adding ticking condemn might tilt the scale towards the other side and lead to a Onryo where survivors can't effectively engage in counterplay. Right now the counterplay is way too forgive towards survivors and makes it easy for them to deny and punish Onryo without giving her the means to work around it. This must be addressed.

However if BHVR does address the issues regarding her counterplay, and then decides to add ticking condemn to survivors holding tapes, I feel like it is too much for survivors to have to deal with as it would put them more in a lose lose type situation. Survivors would be pushing for grabbing a tape to protect themselves but also punished if they don't grab a tape. This would be a problem. As long as there is a global condemn type system where Onryo can spread condemn on multiple points of the map by teleporting I think ticking condemn is too strong.

I do propose a compromise solution though. There has been talk about making Yoichi's Fishing Net add-on apply ticking condemn by making it look something like this:

    Yoichi's Fishing Net:

    • Projection no longer applies condemn. Tapes are no longer broken upon being hooked
    • Survivors who take a VHS tape slowly gain condemn when not in chase. (22 sec per stack) This effect lasts until they drop their tape off at their assigned TV.

This change would provide a means for Onryo to work around survivors doing the counterplay of turning off TVs and denying her mobility. It would also discourage survivors from touching her TVs like in 1.0 to avoid a condemn threat as they would become cursed for grabbing a curse tape (lore accurate!).

The result would either be survivors let her have free control over her mobility or take the risk of getting caught with a tape and getting condemned.

It might need some tweaks but I think it would be a fun add-on to play with. I'd love to hear what you all think.

I agree with you a bit, that it could be too much, but on the other side I think it’s needed. There is no downside to tapes and that was a key element of her power always. Also the passive condemned does only something if the survivors hold the tapes for too long, which would be fine. Tapes aren’t supposed to be safe.

I don‘t know whether you read how I would have reworked her, but they could also give her a very weak global condemned and strong condemned at the tvs you teleport to. I personally loved her first version and this version has the same problems as her second version.

    @MechWarrior3 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3638016#Comment_3638016

This is too complicated. The changes are way more simple than that. Put sadako back to her original state when she released.

keep her from being stunned when she is de manifested, all TVs condemn within 16 m, bring back the old tapes, all TV aura should not be visible to survivors, revert tape insertion back to two seconds.

    Fix her add-ons.

    Period. The end.

I prefer her first version over all versions we get. One big problem of the global condemned versions is that survivors will always turn of her TVs. I really enjoyed the teleport part of her power and that you could go for condemned in her first version, but it wasn‘t forced like in the past two versions, where survivors turn off all her TVs to counter her.

  • If they keep the special attack change, they should also give you the ability to get stacks through hitting people with your special attack and that you get a shorter recovery time after hitting someone with demos special.

Otherwise they should only make, that only m1 attacks are effected in loosing and gaining stacks.

The perk was fine in my opinion before.

Having access to such high mobility can be 100% worth the trade off in the hands of a skilled Onryo. Its a teleport but unlike the other killers you mentioned, it has no cool-down and can be used at a will. With the proper adjustments so survivors can't just run around rapidly turning off every TV, it is 100% worthy of its place as a strong Iri-add-on that augments her power in a fun and unique way.

I know many Onryo players focus on her condemn pressure, but some of us also know how strong her old map pressure was and know how to take advantage of it. This add-on will be alright if BHVR fixes it so survivors can't abuse it.

They could just return her old iri tape and it would have the same effect with less downsides. It was such a cool addon!

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3639329#Comment_3639329

i know what the add-on does, my point is for an IRI add-on you are taking away her strongest trait and that is to build condemn on survivors and add pressure to them throughout the duration of the game. I would say by removing this you are effectively removing her power and you might as well play any other teleportation killer in that instance, like dredge or freddy (who at least both have some kind of anti-loop too).

This could easily be one of those meme brown add-ons for extra BP, not her iridescent.

Completely agree, her current iri is only a downside. They should bring back her old iri tape, which turned TVs back on.

  • I hope they will one day add, that your aura is revealed to teammates, when you are in a locker with head on ready.

I think they should buff boons in general, like increase totem’s range and not buffing one in specific

They should do both (also for hexes).

But I don‘t expect anything from behavior, they are far too obsessed with making every perk useless, weak and boring (you could also call it balancing).

  • Champions of light is ok, not really strong, but the only perk, which is useful.

Boon illuminating is extremely weak and a map is far more useful with far less frustration. You got enough suggestions in the feedback of the ptb and here, so feel free to add something to this perk.

Deadline could be good if it isn’t required to be injured.

Just sad, that you don‘t listen to feedback! Everyone said the perks, except of champion of light are too weak, but you just ignored it like with Onryo.

  • The perk was fine with 50% and made this game a lot more enjoyable, but everything gets nerfed into uselessness. Right now nothing is really strong and they continue to nerf everything.

Soon adrenaline will be useless, an already not too strong perk, which doesn‘t even activate every round.

The thing that bothers me in this situation is there's a handful of survivors who think it's justified because of 2.0 Sadako slugging, tunneling and spamming. Which I find increasingly ironic since my survivor matches against Sadakos end up in slug fests, tunneling and attempted condemned 'spamming' through slugging and picking up like 1.0, just without the Ring Drawing.

On my end with Sadako, I have now heavily relied on Bamboozle and Dissolution to cut down as much loop time as possible while still running VCR/DMS for time since Condemned doesn't gain much at all. My only saving grace is my prior knowledge of her M1 game, because VCR is way less effective now that TV auras are a thing, it's quite a difference.

I wouldn‘t even call her second version strong, she was just incredible annoying to play against and her only viable way was condemned, which wasn‘t the case with her first version. Now her new version also suffers from the same counterplay problem, which makes survivors turn off all TVs. The only difference is that the counterplay/ tapes have no downside now and you can‘t use her TVs to get close to survivors, because they see the TV aura disappear through walls and decide to prerun always.

Sadly her new version only encourages bad playstiles, because she is way too weak.

  • @radiantHero23 said:

    I'm now recording my matches.

I have video evidence of how awful she is.

The matches get increasingly frustrating... More and more survivors find out about how useless my power is and start bming. It honestly is just heartbreaking. I rarely got this depressed over a game. Ever.

This is not what we wanted. This is horrible.

I can only agree, that she is terrible now. Even her first version, which was called weak by many, was far stronger than this version.

  • @jonifire said:

First of all Behavior please read the ptb feedback!

I think you did her really bad with your post ptb changes, she was already not strong and needed buffs from the ptb!

Your arguments, why you nerfed her, we’re also really bad. First you say it was clever to use the maximum out of every TV and then you nerf it with that stupid cooldown, which feels miserable to play with!

The condemned lock in was a cool idea, but you nerfed it into non existence. Either remove locking in stacks entirely or make that you can lock in all stacks. The only fun thing you could do with it on the ptb was to lock someone with full stacks! Also the tunneling argument is completely stupid. When you get unhooked you didn‘t get more new stacks on you, that means it’s not profitable to tunnel for stacks and people who tunnel, will just do it either way.

How I would have changed her:

Reverted her whole concept back to how she worked in her first version and I would have kept the buffs from the other versions. Also I would have reverted all old useful addons from her first version back.

    Power:

    • You only spread condemned near the one tv, where you teleported to. There the radius of condemned is split into three parts, which give you more or less condemned (depends on how far away you are from the TV). In the radius around a Tv you get 0,5 stacks (20-16m), 1stack (16-10m) and 2 stack (10-0m).
    • That wouldn‘t need any cooldown and would encourage you to chase someone to TVs to condemn them, which then also would be skillful.

    Tapes:

    • Right now her counterplay has 0 risk or downside and it makes you completely immune to condemned in the range of turned off TVs.
    • I would change that and return the passive condemned gain from holding tapes.

Tv auras make it impossible to use her power in chase and make an unnoticed approach to people near a Tv very difficult. Therefore I would remove them and would only let them see the aura of their target Tv, where they have to put their tape.

    Addons:

    • Iri videotape: Please give us the first version of it back, which turned TVs back on. It was a very good addon, which would have almost the same effect as the current iri tape, but it would just be a lot better. You could nerf it slightly to only turn on 2 TVs.
    • Ring drawing: Please give us the old effect back, which gave condemned when healing someone! The nerf to lock in condemned made this addon terrible. The change was only ok in the first place, because they couldn‘t remove that one stack, but now that lock in got nerfed, it’s just bad. Personally if you decide to buff lock in again, you should also bring back the old ring drawing and give the one stack lock in to an other addon.
    • Yoichis fishing net: If you decide to bring back passive condemned gain from holding a tape, then please return the old effect, which gave you passive condemned faster from tapes.
    • Please change the addons, because you nerfed them a lot through your rework and most of them were already bad! We made some addon suggestions in the ptb feedback if you need ideas, read it, either way please read the feedback this time! There you can find out, which effects we want to see.

If you keep her Ptb version like she was, that would already be a huge step in the right direction, but then please read through the ptb feedback to find the problems of this version.

Personally I would prefer her first version over the all Tv spread version we have right now (if you keep the cooldown on this version).

the global 0.75 condemn is meant to incentive picking up tapes so that mini-quest for sadako can begin. without it, you would be at 0 condemn. Admittedly, it might be a bit too strong for casual survivor player where live version does allow you to spam televisions tp and passively win. It is something i am not too fond about in live version of the killer but ptb version takes spam and dials it to only play-style.

The funny part is that only play-style doesn't even work because survivor has too much power on tapes where they can close TV and reduce condemn stacks while doing the gen objective at the same time.

Now the play-style is nerfed so entire condemn mechanic is useless.

Lock in was a cool idea, but with the nerf it’s useless and the best of it got removed. I would have locked a full condemned survivor and then left him that way the whole round, now I will just mori him.

Lock-in only promotes tunneling, there is already enough of that in the game without adding extra incentives, bad idea and defeats purpose of mori.

I actually liked the ptb version, but with that nerfs I am just waiting for her 3rd rework.

In the end the lock in tunneling makes no sense. When they get unhooked, they got no new stacks and if she does tunnel, you won‘t get value from the condemned mori. In that case they just tunnel and the lock in does not make any difference.

Playing without LB vs 4 beamer fellows is obnoxious. Every pallet, every other pick up.. it is just awful.

Then the people don‘t do gens and in most case you can just look at a wall or slug. Just hard countering an item, which is equivalent to a killers power (in my opinion), doesn‘t feel right to me.

  • @Skillfulstone said:

Items and add-ons for Survivors can be acquired without ever using bloodpoints. Either through chests or through Dramaturgy (or just taking it from a dead teammate) the Survivors can gain items (and add-ons if bringing Ace In the Hole) by simply playing. Even if the item is depleted, escaping with it will keep it.

Killers cannot gain add-ons by just playing, they must spend bloodpoints and due to it's random nature it can take a lot of bp to get the add-ons you want. Unless a Black Ward is brought then 4k or 0k the add-ons are lost (and even then, if the server crashes there's a chance to lose the add-ons anyway).

Franklin's is only useful if you can hit Survivors before they use their items and their whole plan revolved around that item. It doesn't make you better in chase, it provides no info, it doesn't provide slowdown, it doesn't even grant a bp bonus. Unless the Killer is feeling spiteful and you brought 4 beamers/toolboxes then Franklin's has essentially no guaranteed value. Franklin's also takes 25% of the Killer's build just to deal with items.

It's annoying, sure, but it's hardly game-breaking or even very powerful.

But killers get a lot more blood points and rarer addons like iris aren‘t as rare as a purple flash light.

Ace in the whole is a stupid perk in my opinion, it should be base kit.

  • Same goes for light born. It would be enough to just make blinding the killer take longer, but no the flash light with its addons is useless.

ptb sadako takes no skill to play. you can teleport to every single television over and over and eventually everyone get condemned for doing nothing other than mindless spamming.

The 10 second cooldown nerf will just remove only brainless strategy left for her leaving with no power-level.

I can‘t understand how you think her current live version is more than that.

Her ptb version gave the survivors the complete uper hand over condemned and there was no downside to tapes. There was no need to nerf an already weak mechanic.

Personally they should just made it without all TVs condemned or global condemned. They should have just returned all to her first version and made that the closer someone is to a tv the more condemned he gets ranging from 0,5 -1-2 stacks (20m-16m-10m-0m).

Lock in was a cool idea, but with the nerf it’s useless and the best of it got removed. I would have locked a full condemned survivor and then left him that way the whole round, now I will just mori him.

Yeah, maybe it was a fun interaction for survivors. Not for killers though, if i was wraith or hag and i saw 2+ flashlights in the lobby i would just dodge because why would you not. Realistically it destroyed unaware killers and otherwise caused matchmaking issues.

It might have been annoying for some, but as hag at least it wasn‘t base kit for survivors before, so only someone with a flashlight could distroy the traps.

I think for wraith and others like nurse and artist it was a good and fair counterplay. Wraith is a bit too strong now in my opinion, but I can understand, when people say it was annoying.

  • Personally you should get shards for completing them. It‘s just not worth doing them for bloodpoints!

If only Demo's shred could do damage from cliffs and such. It's pretty neat to shred off a 2nd story and get far distance, but it's disappointing knowing it has a 0% chance of doing damage, even if the survivor is in place.

    You mean the invisible walls?

I hope Behavior removes them one day.

  • I hope they return light burn for killers again. It was a cool interaction and counter.

The nurse respectfully does not need a nerf again neither a rework. It takes skill to loop her but it can be done. I promise.

I hope my teammates will one day acquire the skill for that, but I agree that she doesn‘t need a rework or big nerf.

Nobody in the feedback section at least. I assure you, nobody suggested that there.

Maybe a dev watched a toxic streamer playing the PTB and then this streamer got condemned, so they thought omg overpowered!

  • Demogorgons Jump is in my opinion extremely strong and fair. Same goes for pyramid head.

  • I‘m just depressed about the Sadako changes.

  • Personally if they don‘t revert the ptb changes, they should just give us her first version with all her old addons back and buff her kit. That would be perfect in my opinion.

  • Who would have thought, that ring drawing will be one of her worst addons, after it was one of her strongest for a long time.

Or just use the Ptb feedback and make improvements to the Ptb version. It was not hard to avoid this.

We know behavior, I don‘t think that will happen!

Onryo could skip quite a few steps when she tunneled with her power. Not a single hook needed to be made, similar to old Pig.

That doesn't mean tunneling isn't a problem with other killers, but it does mean it's a bigger problem with her.

Same way 3 gens were a bigger problem with old Skull Merchant.

You can‘t tunnel someone, when you don‘t hook someone!

The lock in mechanic was there as incentivize to hook and now it’s just a bad mechanic.

  • They had literally only give her original version with original addons and it would be far better than this.
