As a Survivor main, this was the most fun I've had in years with the game. I hate to say it but I find many survivors just want to ######### around with the killer and not actually play the game. I prefer it greatly when the Killer has a huge advantage. It increases the tension.
Same here. I like when games that are branded as horror cam actually make me jump.
-
As much as I like this change, I still think it promotes slugging as the counter to DS, and I've never been a fan of having to play that way.
-
Yep. These QOL changes are simple and overdue.
Make them worth doing, especially for veteran players who don't need BP as much.
-
Then run lightborn.
-
BHVR release an event that isn't bugged and poorly thought out challenge.
-
The event is here to occupy time and add new things to the store we can buy. It's a distraction from the same tired gameplay loop.
-
I'd say it suffers a bit from some of the same issues that the swamp does. A little bit too big lengthwise, the clutter is really hard to find survivors in at times. It's hard to know what's foliage you can hide in/what's going to block passage, and some of the buildings/broken rocks/debris looks vaultable but isn't.
I'd say it isn't an unbalanced map per se, but one that has issues for both sides.
-
I love the aesthetic of this map, but it can be a bit of a nightmare for survivors to navigate. I would call it mostly balanced but slightly killer sided.
-
It has some absolutely amazing safe pallets/mandatory break pallets, and a central structure that can be a pain for killers to navigate while giving survivors lots of places to hide and break line of sight.
I like it a low more after the changes, but it's still definitely survivor sided.
-
Having completed the Lights Out Tome, I can say that it was super fun.
Survivors are whining, but what else is new?
I played survivor most of the event, and yeah, it was killer sided, but the challenge was fun, and 150% BP was nice.
I also noticed that while "Killer Sided" it wasn't just a free win for most of the killers, the lack of information perks meant that if a survivor got a stun off, (especially on bloody floor maps like Gg) they were in Narnia.
I won just as many games as I lost as survivor and it was so refreshing and different. I hope the devs tweak it a bit and keep it around! Especially if they start doing rotating "Special Modes."
-
So weird that they disabled Freddie but not GF or Meyers or any of the killers who benefit from the darkness.
-
My two cents:

If Freddy's killrate is high it's likely because people just suicide on hook against him. Even in my rank 1 games people suicide against him because they find him boring to play against. His current power is good but imo it needs some refining to be more engaging. Everything is there it just needs to be made more fun to play around. I still feel like the Dream Pallets are the more fun game mechanic to play against. That's why I kept saying the snares and pallets should be available at all times and share the current charges he has now. Would require Freddy to manage resources more but that's just me.
Personally, I know Freddie isn't top tier, but he is incredibly unfun to play against, and this is a welcome change imo.
It's nice to see the devs making QOL changes that don't revolve around tier lists and the opinions of the "elite" players.
-
Exactly as expected. They dodge the hot button issues, dangle some mediocre updates down the line, and offer no concrete solutions on any of the ongoing concerns.

This is the measured takes I expect from this community. But yeah, buff surge.

Since my first post got too big to manage with any level of patience, I decided to make this one.
When we last left off we had about 107 bugs in the game
If any are still posted on the first, I'll do my best to post them here. For now, Keep posting the bugs in the comments, and I shall make another list
( here's the link to the first post, before you comment look over the list to see if it's already posted: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/209981/known-issues-with-this-chapter-a-lovingly-crafted-list-for-your-viewing-pleasure-100-bugs-now/p1?new=1 )
With clown
1. If you are stunned while holding your bottle, there is a chance you'll never be able to use your power for the rest of the match.
With pyramid head
1. Can be stuck with the reduced movement speed ( rites of judgement speed) for the entire match. Can be fixed by getting stunned.
With doctor
1. If you mori someone with the illusory red stain, it'll stay on the corpse for the rest of the game.
2. Making elodie scream is inconsistent, sometimes she screams, other times you only get the notification for it. ( might happen with other survivors )
With Blight
1. Can recieve a double cooldown after rushing when it was refilled by alchemists ring ( is a short 0.01 cooldown )
With huntress
1. Hatchet hits give no notification
2. Hatchets spin at the handle, instead of the center. ( don't know if it affects hitboxes )
With nurse
1. Her blinks can bug out, preventing you from using your second blink. Happens more often when using a third blink.
2. Can't blink through main building of Azarovs resting place.
With Deathslinger
1. His reeling noise can play indefinitely
With demogorgon
1. Is sometimes able to put portals below hooked survivors
With Leatherface
1. Random frame drops when using chainsaw ( reported on series X )
With plague
1. If plague is stunned while holding her power, she will have the reduced speed until she fully charges her vomit again.
With Oni
1. Hitting injured survivors with demon strike doesn't down them. ( may have been hit validation)
With Trapper
1. Traps can spawn inside objects on every map now.
With victor
1. Sometimes you're not able to kick victor, despite bar being 100%
2. If a perk is activated ( say rancor for example ) if you release victor, then down the person. You won't be able to mori the survivor. ( it seems perks may not interact with victor, both killer and survivor, will update this as more info comes in.)
3. Victor cannot damage a survivor if they are leaving a locker.
4. Victor's "crush" prompt overrides survivors "drop pallet" prompt.
5. Deploying victor may get him stuck, without being able to switch back to charlotte.
With perks
1. Undying doesn't always bring totems back
2. Dead hard, and any means necessary interfere with each others prompts.
3. BBQ not awarding points to some killers ( so far GF and twins )
4. Deception can be used on an occupied locker (might be intentional)
General survivor
1. Can spawn in using flashlight, causes it to be used up.
With Elodie Rakoto
1. In survivors POV, doesn't make any noise, but Still makes injured sounds in killer POV.
With maps
1. Ormond has some reported performance issues
With the archives
1. Some challenges seem to not gain progress ( not sure which ones, will update as more information comes )
Miscellaneous
1. Survivors hair will sometimes randomly disappear in the endgame screen
2. Being healed can give off the generator repair animation
3. If you're a killer in the endgame screen it'll sometimes display your survivor rank instead of killer rank.
4. Entity sound effects overlay when multiple survivors are hooked
5. The 'Adrenal gland' charm is missing the jar. and is instead floating ominously next to the hook.
Total issue count: 141
What a great patch.

I legitimately couldn't tell if that was supposed to be a joke when they put that on Social Media.

If you don't think killer is stressful, I don't know what game you're playing.

It seemed like before the [BAD WORD] show that they called an event. You could freely post in general.
But now if your post has any hint of a suggestion or criticism. it gets banished to feedback. Where the post will instantly lose traction. Especially annoying considering all of the traffic goes through general.
Standard damage control, out of sight, out of mind.
I'm sure they have terms for players who are aware of BS, and the ones that they can control easier. So they try to separate the two groups so nobody from the easy group gets converted.

What point are you trying to prove? Just break the damn wall. Once it’s gone that loop is never safe for a survivor again.

A big red light goes off at BHVR HQ.
KILLER FUN DETECTED. COUNTERMEASURES ENGAGED.

Survivors can gain additional items outside the bloodweb. Killers can't. Stop whining.

There already is in the form of ruin undying, assuming you can apply enough pressure to make it give you value. It is crippling to leave ruin up against a good killer.
If you don't like looping DBD killer is not for you, that's basically the whole game for the majority of the roster, and I find it to be the most enjoyable part of DBD in general.
Ring around the rosie is the pinnacle of gaming for you, huh?
-
A valued licensing deal.
-
BHVR valuing their customers once again.
-
I agree, but I'm sure you've triggered every survivor main on this forum.
-
Clearly you've never encountered a purple pachyderm ninja.
-
Hag/Trapper/Bubba. Course, I'm sti trying to unlock all my perks, so this might change after I get all my perks and have more time to practice with the killers I haven't gotten to try much of yet, like Spirit, Freddy, or Clown.
I can safely say I hate nurse, if I want to play a high mobility killer, I prefer Blight, Legion, or Billy any day.
Plague is super fun, but I can't quite get the rhythm of when to infect and when to M1 down. (Partially because I have nobody to practice with, and sweaty survivors are hard to practice on)
-
I used to be like you. You can't go into every match expecting to win.
Sadly, because of the community, you can't even go into every match expecting to have fun. It's why I've switched off of killer main, it's just too stressful to have to herd cats, which sucks, because the killers would be fun to play, if survivors weren't all toxic tryhards.
-
It's a nice perk for practicing a new killer and maybe cheating a kill or two out of a game that doesn't go hour way.
Asking why killers run NOED is like asking why survivors run unbreakable.
Why pick yourself up? Just don't get downed.
-
*Thank you art team.
We all know the balance devs don't listen to us, just statistics. 😏
-
No. Your biased and inaccurate timeline doesn't resemble reality. Good day.
-
It's kind of disgusting how awful the state of killer Add-ons is. It's completely random across the board.
Some killers have good add-ons. Some have decent ones. Some have NECESSARY add-ons. And still others have awful or actively detrimental add-ons.

All licensed DLC refer to the cult series of games and films, which can potentially also receive sequels in the future, respectively, an additional profit in the future for BHVR, a mutual benefit.
Until Dawn is a PlayStation exclusive that most haven't played, released 5 years ago, which has received almost no further development of the series and may not receive any more sequels ever. + The monsters in this game do not fit into the DBD mechanics.
But they know how to do so that you would think about someone else (hype) and almost never guess who the real killer is before the start of PTB, this has happened many times.
I just saw a lot of comments under the teaser and a few here.
Its received two sequels, one of which just came out.
The wendigo shriek is identical to the sound in the trailer.
I'm not particularly happy with it, but it seems to be the most likely fit.
Sorry, bud.

There needs to be something.
If eating a DC penalty, or turning the game off is preferable to:
- recording the match.
- Editing the clip.
- Uploading it to YT.
- Going to DBD website.
- Filling in a report.
- Providing a link to the clip.
Then that’s a problem.
Yeah, and not knowing if they're actually taking action against the perpetrators even after all that.
Fun times.
-
I'd be okay with this, but killers also need some perks worked into their base kit then. What would be a fair exchange?
-
@Mooks said:
There is more work put into it than just tweaking numbers. They have to agree on not making any other changes, observe the current effects of the perk and estimate the outcome of any possible changes, for different killer powers, playstyles, perks etc.
we don’t know how the testing and QA works internally either and how many stages there are.
but I can guarantee you it’s never just. A small number change
Odd, since sometimes it feels like a small number tweak is all it would take to make certain killers/perks more bearable. I guess another question would be, why don't they just try small tweaks on more frequent patches to fix these long periods where it feels like they're not doing anything?

Ah, Killers leaving again. Like it is claimed every week.
Maybe, at least one time, we can wait with feedback when we have actual footage?

4 on both.

There has to be better forum for this.

The problem with breakable walls is that they're once gain a feature implemented to waste the killer's most valuable resource, his time.
They used then to reintroduce God loops , instead of using them to make already strong loops less safe. Now the killer HAS to spend time breaking them, or get Infinite looped.
Not a meaningful choice. The implementation of these walls is just more proof the devs have no idea how to balance their own game.
