Why are people so opposed to the idea that customers of a product are unsatisifed with the decison making of the people making said product
Is it a thing where it's only a valid complaint if it bothers you personally?
They said they were never going to play as him anyways, so now they are complaining to complain and that is what I'm opposed to.
Plus there are more pressing issues to address about BHVR and this game. This is such a non-issue when they have an easy alternative to pay 5 dollars to unlock him.

Because there are other issues with BHVR that need to be addressed and this is such a non-issue when they have an alternative to buy him for 5 dollars. I wanted buy him, i am not buying because of how BHVR forcing me to buy costume. Is it really so hard to understand for you?
But you literally just said "I'm not going to main as him" in the post I quoted earlier, so why do you want to buy him? BHVR is not forcing you to buy anything. You have the option to buy him using the in game store and it will cost you the same amount if he didn't have a cosmetic attached to his price (5 dollars to buy 550 AC and he costs 500 AC). You would be spending the same amount if it was in the steam store. If it's just for perks then it's a waste of money either way and you should wait to use shards to unlock his teachable perks as they become available. I just don't see the issue here.
What is a benefit to having your purchase of him in your steam library vs having him unlocked through the game?

Like i said, i am not gonna buy this chapter.
I am not gonna main Nic Cage. So i don't care about costume. It will be just waste of money for me.
Cool, then why create a whole thread about a character you were never going to buy in the first place.

I am just not buying this dlc. I don't care about buying in game store. I'd buy original chapters with shards for free but i never did that. I care about my Steam library and for that, i always bought chapter with real money.
But i am not paying double bucks to BHVR for one stupid costume. I will just pass this chapter.
If you don't care about buying in game store, then why are you complaining and saying you won't buy this chapter in the game store? Why does it matter if you have that DLC in your steam library or it's unlocked in their store. It cost 500 Auric Cells to buy him. Just pay the five dollars for the 550 cells (you're getting a bonus 50 cells) and you have it for the same price as you would if you bought it on Steam. What is the benefit of having it in your steam library? I just don't get it. Please explain why that is so important.
I for one am happy to play 10 dollars for a new character and then get a cosmetic for half off. It's normally 1080 AC (a little over 10 dollars) for a full outfit. I hope they do more of this in the future. If I didn't care about the outfit, I would just buy it in the game store. I feel like there are more issues to have with BHVR than this. Like this is their least problematic thing they have done lately lol small complaints drown out their bigger main mistakes

Just wait. People will learn they just need to hold onto a tape the entire game. As long as they have a tape, they don't have to worry about being condemned. When I first started playing as her, I thought she was strong. But I'm getting more and more games where people just hold onto tapes and they don't care if they get 2 stacks from a hit while holding it. They can just easily get rid of the condemned again by going to any TV on the map. Some TVs are right next to each other. I'm going back to playing Ghostface lol fun while it lasted.

I go into every survivor game knowing I'm not going to escape. It's the only way to play as survivor. It gets old losing majority of games so that's why I mainly play killer. Plus as survivor you're either sitting on a hook, sitting on a gen, or slugged on the ground. It's boring. Even if I'm getting bullied by survivors as killer, at least I'm able to do stuff and last the entire game. When I play with my friends a lot of time it's one of us waiting in lobby for the others to die after being tunneled out within a few minutes of playing a round. Zzzz

Can I ask how you believe the removal of the DC penalty would improve the current situation?
I understand your position of "lets try it and see what happens," but as @Trollinmon pointed out, we've already been down that path and the disconnects spike every single time.
There is zero love lost between players in this game, which is why no one feels obligated to see their game through. So I am very curious to know how enabling "my fun isn't your responsibility" could at all be beneficial.
I meant in the sense of having bots replacement. I agree as of right now the DC penalty shouldn't be removed but with a replacement, lets see how bad it would be if bots took over a game someone didn't want to be in. Because right now if someone doesn't want to be in a game, they will run to the killer, stay on the ground slugged doing nothing, hide, or try to kill themselves on the hook. If someone tries to save them from killing themselves on hook, they will drop every pallet or mess up every skill check on purpose. I would rather that person DC and be replaced by a bot. Is that better for the health of this game? I don't know. If bots are worse than that, then yeah I'm all for DC penalty staying the same.

And bots don't change a thing. They're not a replacement for an actual player. They just lessen the blow of losing a team mate early in the game.
No survivor wants to die while a bot gets to escape, and no killer wants to play against a team full of bots.
Bots are better than nothing. I have seen so many people die on hook to get out of a game and if they get saved will throw every pallet. I would rather they just DC. I'm not even talking about me being able to DC, just people who do ######### like that. I don't think it will be nothing but bot games every match, but no one truly fully knows if that would be the case or not. They can assume it will be, but no one really knows unless it gets tested.
That's why I think they should do a trial of it where they get rid of the DC penalty for a week or maybe two just to see if people notice games are better and they don't see an uptick in people dying on hook. Because what I know right now is we do currently have a DC and dying on hook problem. People have been complaining about that for the past year or so and I think something should be done and I think we should at the very least try it instead of being so sure we know what the outcome will be.
I mean another alternative could be a player's ban is based on how long their bot is in a game. Everyone is assigned a bot number and if your bot is still in a game, then you can't ready up until that bot is dead or escaped.

Well, not like that's good approach.
But they improved at it a little. If they were sticking to kill rate onli, then Nurse would never get nerfed.
But they also said Trapper and Myers are fine with their kill rate, so here we go again...
Nurse's kill rate is actually not that big. A lot of players trying her out do really bad so that balances out the really good nurse killers. So it is tricky to only go off of kill rate alone.
Edit: I think that's what you were trying to say lol I should learn to read more vs skimming haha

You shouldn't get to choose your killer.
Devil's advocate: you shouldn't get to choose which survivors you go against and what items they bring. But you can and lobby dodge. And if that is okay then survivors should be able to lobby dodge a killer before a game starts by having the lobby showing them who the killer was?

How would you like a game update every time you logged in? No? Me neither. That's what PTB is for.
Not everyone can PTB and not everyone uses the PTB. It would only update once and stay for a week or a few days or whatever. It wouldn't be an update every time you log into the game.
-
@Pluto_1 said:
Ya'll know damn good and well what will happen. Why are you even asking?? You think lobby hopping is bad? Go ahead and enable game hopping too.
But what will happen if you play with bots? Will it be better than someone dying on hook, AFK, or just walking around doing nothing? These are things you don't know yet and only assuming - we all are. No one actually knows if it would be best for the game overall. We know what DC penalty will do if it was enabled right now, but not with the bot update. That's the point.

The DC penalty has been removed on several occasions. We know what happens. It's not good.
But bots were not a thing. The only reason we are having this conversation is because of the introductions to bots replacing DCs
-
Everyone seems to think what their opinion on DC penalty removal from both sides is correct (no one is changing anyone's mind form what I have noticed) but no one really truly knows what would happen. They can only assume and speculate. I think after this next update and a month has passed, BHVR should remove DC for a period of time - like a week or two, nothing crazy. Then see what happens. I'm honestly mixed on it because I really don't know what will happen and I can see where both sides are coming from. Lets do a trial run of it.
When I played PTB, DC penalty is removed (it's like that for all PTBs) and I didn't even noticed someone DC'd and a bot was playing until the end. I will say bots are a lot better than they were when first introduced.
-
Hatch escape is not a win. Some survivors may see it as that, but it's not. BHVR's MMR sees it as a null. You didn't die and you didn't escape. Hatch is there so the game will end quickly. If a hatch is closed and the survivor is able to open the gate and escape, then that's a win because it takes skill to do that and isn't an instant escape. Escape does not always equal a win.
-
They don't tweak/nerf based off of popularity. They tweak killers based on their kill rate. If that was the case then the Twins would be massively buffed. They like the kill rate on the Twins, so they are going to keep them the same even though hardly anyone plays as them. They also said that about Trapper too even though a lot of people think he needs a buff. They have said they like where his kill rate is currently at.
So if we get a Wesker nerf, it's not because of his popularity - it's because of how many kills on average he gets. If it stays at a nice rate, then no need to worry. If he gets too many kills easily, then he is clearly OP and would need a tweak. IMO, I don't think he is OP and I don't see them reworking him. I could see them doing a tweak here and there to some of his add-ons
-
If I was given a choice, I would much rather a teammate DCs and is replaced with a bot vs them trying to kill themselves on hook and then slamming every pallet down because you saved them. I think BHVR should do a trial run of a few weeks where they remove the DC penalty just to see how "bad" it would be.
-
lol that would be funny to see survivors zooming around but that would be abused so badly by SWFs that only want to bully a killer and don't care about gens. Those type of games are rough as killer, I've been there :( I still think hooks should teleport a survivor to the other side of the map like cages do and get rid of the explosion notification sound of an unhook if the killer is, like, I dunno 20 meters or so away from a hook.
-
I think it's a case of people playing with their friends that just bought the game. I introduced my friend to this game last week and we can't play together because we get insanely good killers and he just doesn't have fun at all. I told him to play alone and I would watch him on discord to give him pointers and the killer was more on his level. It would be nice to have an MMR that would average out everyone's level to the killer's. Or even not let people who are new to this game party with higher MMR players - suggesting they play on their own for a bit until they get better at it. Would be nice if I could play with him now, but it's unplayable with him being so new to the game. I'm waiting for him to get better.

It did, weeks after it was known to be a bug. This map bug just recently started to get noticed so it got kill switched right away. Dredge was kill switched near a patch update and he was barely killed switched. They did it because a lot of people complained and they couldn't ignore it.

Something that killers can't remotely do anything about: BHVR killswitches
Something that is highly inconsistent and doesn't break the game: BHVR doesn't need to killswitch
Now is fair to expect it to be fixed by now? Maybe so. Considering it isn't fixed yet, but not killswitched it probably isn't simple fix
Inner strength was bugged at one point where you could use it more than once after cleansing one totem. That's not game breaking, but it got killed switched right away. Using a perk that regresses your gen close to zero right away (used a lot by doctor which made it harder to do that skill check) is not game breaking, but didn't get killed switched at all. That inner strength locker I'm sure cost a few killer games, but MS cost a few survivor games I was in. It was bugged and they waited forever to fix it and didn't kill switch until then.
-
Something that affects the killer -
BHVR: Kill switch it right away!
Something that affects the survivor (like merciless storm) -
BHVR: We will take our time updating it and won't kill switch it.
-
As someone who was in a skull merchant game that lasted over 20 minutes as they kept drones at the last three gens (they weren't even that close to each other), I strongly disagree. He power really needs to be reworked where each time a gen is completed, you can't use as many drones at an uncompleted gen. Then have it go all the way down to where there are three gens left, she can only have 2 drones at uncompleted gens.
-
This is a hard no for me. This game likes to randomly crash on me. Just freezes and then disconnects me from the game. Doesn't crash to desktop or anything. It's annoying and I've gone back and forth with BHVR's support team about it. Even after getting a new graphics card it still does it. Doesn't happen all the time, so I really appreciate the 1 minute DC, because sometimes it's out of your control.
I say keep it how it is now where it gets longer and longer each time you DC. If the penalty is higher, survivors will just die on hook or just be AFK as they watch YouTube or play a mobile game as they wait to bleed out from a killer who refuses to hook them. If someone doesn't want to play, they will find a way. While people who have a legit problem with this game running will be punished.

Ok, so the logical advice is to accept it and move on? Let's not discuss game balance and close our eyes.
Thanks for the effort, but I am not asking for "how to have fun". I'll create my own fun whichever way that is.
This is a place to discuss game balance, and by all means, it should be discussed instead of ignored. Accepting bad game balance is the worst thing you can do if you actually care about this game's future.
Especially with BHVR devs, who need someone to actually watch them over as without (good) community feedback, this game would be long dead.
Again, didn't say that lol I said sometimes you're going to get a game where survivors run you around. It's going to happen no matter how many nerfs or buffs they bring into a game. What I'm saying is if you do lose to a well organized squad, just like if you were to lose to a killer who is great at their power and great at looping / mind games - to try again and move on. I'm not saying every game is zero to one kill as killer, because it's not. It can FEEL that way, but it's not.
If you're getting 2K or more as killer a majority of the time, then I believe this game is balanced. Are you not getting a majority of killer games where you have killed two or more survivors? Write down "Zero to 1 kill(s)" on one side of a piece of paper and then write down "2 or more kills" on the other side. Then do tally marks for every game you play. Try that with 50 or more games. See what you get :) Or even mix it up and do three rows. "0 - 1 kill(s)" "2 Kills" "3 - 4 kills". Because emotions will make you believe almost every game is a zero to 1K.

"Accept that you're going to lose and it's not in your control" is not a good advice.
No one is asking for 4k every game. People ask for fair game and fair results.
You put that in quotation marks like as if I said that. I didn't say that, and I can't figure out what I posted could be seen as that quote. The only part I can think of is saying how you're going to get some gen rush games, but I also said you are going to get easy 4K no gens done games too.
You're going to be brutalized in some games, and in others you're going to be the one brutalizing. That's how PvP multiplayer games work. I mean when I play survivor I'm more likely to die on hook vs getting 0K to 1K as a killer.
If I'm unlucky getting a camping tunneling killer that is focused on me, it's obviously worse - That feels like a zero hook game, being bullied by a head on flashlight squad lol
I feel like on average I get 2K and 3K games as killer and I feel like that's fair for 4v1. I'm more likely to get a 4K game than a zero K game. I dunno, maybe it's different for others, but that's not what I'm seeing and I feel like my MMR is high. I get it, it doesn't feel great losing to a well organized squad but I just move on to the next. I don't see it majority of the time. If I notice it's happening a lot (usually at late hours) I'll just bring my strongest killer with add-ons.

You know what's also boring?
Getting 4-5 gens done in 4 minutes by survivors whose chase skill level doesn't correlate at all with the actual ingame objective.
Maybe try a different killer? Different perks? Practice more? I have 2.5K hours in this game. I remember being really bad as killer after first playing for the first year and saying to my friends "I'm going to be a survivor only player". I got frustrated with squads and gen rush (it was a lot worse a few years back!).
Then I gave it a shot. Tried different killers and didn't give up on them until I mastered their power. Played as them without any add-ons to get use to their power. Tried different perks. I worked on getting every killer adept.
It made killer a lot more fun. Are you going to have gen rush games? Sure, just like you're going to have no gens completed and everyone dead within 4 minutes. If you feel like you need to get a 4K every game, you're not going to enjoy killer no matter what update comes out. I'm happy with a 2K and anything more is great. You don't have to win win every game. It's not that serious. Camping and tunneling is just boring for everyone. Even challenge yourself and do no perks every once in a blue moon. That always feels great afterwards if you did well!
-
@almofan1001 said:
No way you just did that - it's actually appalling. Speechless.
Guess the people who scream the loudest always get their way.
I'm camping/tunnelling from the first hook. I was maybe considering otherwise, but after seeing that they don't even have the balls to keep healing nerfs while at same time keep gutting anti-gen perks... hard to feel any remorse.
I mean if that's how you want to play, go off. Just sounds boring to me, but if that's fun just standing around - to each their own I guess. I assume you don't care about BP or ranking up too then.
-
Dead Hard has always been easy to wait out. If a survivor is able to use dead hard even after I wait it out, then good on them. I can respect that as killer. I would say a survivor gets a successful dead hard from me as a killer about 30-40 percent of the time. However me using DH as survivor I get it about 10 percent of the time ๐ญ I never understood the reason for another nerf with it. Current live version is fine IMO and anyone who camps or tunnels because of it are just low skilled killers being toxic.
-
This is why I record every game I play. A killer did this to my friend that was taking hits and sabo a hooks (which is allowed and part of the game). Killer was able to get them into a corner and block them until the end game collapse. Then in chat said "I win" lol I sent the recording to BHVR. I wonder if they still thought they won after being told they were banned.
Also I thought it was common knowledge that when a survivor body blocks a way to stop a killer from hitting someone else or stopping a hook, that it's not bannable. Like how it's not bannable for a killer to try and block survivors from reaching a vault or doing a hook save. But holding someone hostage where they can't bleed out and can't move, that's a different story. Anyone playing killer, you don't know if someone is recording their game play - so just don't do it. Slug them if you want or tunnel/camp them out. Those are not bannable.
-
Hopefully they do an extended double BP bonus and not just on a weekend during Christmas because a lot of us won't be home or able to play.
-
Can confirm this is true. Played with inner strength and thought it was weird my icon didn't turn dark after I healed in a locker. I was injured again, didn't cleanse a totem, and I was still able to heal in a locker. This hotfix is super broken. They need to revert back and try again.

Okay, it's not just me. I feel like it's worse than how it was before they fixed it earlier this year.
-
No - he is boring to go against. Pretty much every Knight killer I have gone up against uses his power to shut down a loop. I just end up running to the next loop just fine. Also his minions are so easy to outrun, they are a joke. I will actually go up to them on purpose and have them chase me. The killer loses his power while I'm being chased by them and they are so easy to outrun. He's not a challenge. I want to see the Knight use his power like how it's intended to be used. Not to camp a hook (which they go away after you do a rescue save) or to try and shut down a loop. I have yet to go against a Knight that is smart with his power. I'm sure as time goes on I will. I just hope he doesn't turn into Twins 2.0

Iโm not trying to be too critical, but you could have played that better. Your movement was very predictable. And if your other players had been on gens, it would have been a 1 gen left by the time you died.
Oh I'll admit I'm an OK survivor and I'm learning to play better. With that said, that has nothing to do with my original issue with how this game went. It's hard to try and "get gud" when you get a bunch of matches like these and dread playing as survivor - but I want to get my challenges done for the tome pass I paid for.
-
@Raptorrotas said:
Late to the party but when do people like OP think killers are allowed to start playing the game? Apparantly survivors need a 2 gens handicap now.
Did I say I was upset that I started getting chased after one gen? Nah, I was talking about because one gen was completed, the killer wanted to make it a 3 vs 1 so they targeted me. My game ended quickly, I lost a pip, barely got any BP, and wasn't able to do my tome challenge. All because this killer was triggered by one gen being done. Games like that discourage people from wanting to play. But like I said before I wouldn't be that upset if they tunneled and proxy camped everyone else.

You didn't "get" me at all
If I had said to you: "No, you're lying, I'm sure that this nurse played perfectly fair!", yes, indeed, you could have told me that I was wrong.
I never said anything like that; the only thing I said was that a screen is not enough to be able to give an opinion about a whole game.
To which you answer me by showing me a video; that's perfect; that's exactly what I was talking about ๐ค
It clearly shows the nurse hard tunnelling you; which frankly, is pitiful on her part, especially since she could have very well gone on to someone else and let you walk away ๐I completely agree with you that it frankly had a pretty sad gameplay...
On the other hand, people, you should really stop putting everyone in the same basket and judging too hastily ๐
It's not because you're a main nurse that you're going to blindly defend any other main nurse.
Of course this one played deplorably ... whether you're a main nurse, main wraith, or main survivor, it's obvious, no one will say otherwise.
I mean you didn't fully believe me with one screenshot and I provided a video showing I was indeed targeted. You didn't say I was lying out right, but you implied it because I didn't have a video of it. Even though the screenshot showed the killer saying that they did in fact target me. Was it rude of me to be salty about nurse mains to you, yeah, and I apologize for that. I don't mean to be salty in here and start aggressive arguments. I get this negative aggressive vibe on this forum sometimes and I feed off of that. Anyways, I'm more upset this game allows it than anything. I mean, you have to wonder why survivor queues are less than a minute and sometimes within 5 seconds but killer queues can take 5 minutes or more during peak gaming hours.
And anyone who is saying "that's how it is, get over it. Take the L and move on". yeah, I'm not doing that. I really enjoy this game when it's all said and done. Where else can I play as Freddy in Haddonfield, IL chasing Leon Kennedy, Nancy Wheeler, Bill from L4D, and Ash Williams. I don't think it's unreasonable for me to want to see the best this game can be. There are ways to improve it and to stop game plays that are just awful for certain survivors or killers. I mainly play killer now because I dread playing survivor. I don't want to be tunneled out or camped on hook. How is that solved? I don't fully know, I'm not a game designer. I just know I'm starting to dread playing this game, and I don't want to. I also know I'm not alone.

Huntress Iri is a one time direct hit. Clown is a two hit. Bottle then a M1. Plus it's easier to avoid getting a direct hit form a bottle vs a hatchet.

If it can reassure you, there is nothing in this topic that I took personally (I speak for myself, I leave it to the other nurturing hands to express themselves of course); I was just pointing out the extreme side of some sweeping judgments, which are more of a generalizing and irrelevant argument, than an open and interesting discussion ๐
By the way, as for this screen, well, it's only a screen, if we really want to have an idea of how the game unfolded, we should have the replay, from the point of view of each survivor and the killer ๐
lol I have receipts. I got you. I record every game I play. Here you go. Enjoy :) You just keep proving my point about nurse mains

I released something from reading Nurse main replies on here. Y'all are so sensitive and take it personal. Now I know why he did what he did. One gen got done and he wasn't able to find anyone so he took that way too personal. Thanks for answering my question.

First, I love the addition of the poor thumbs up kitty. Second, its a try-hard killer player, they have the right to go as hard as they want, just as you do. It's not unique to Nurse, I've seen many killers do it. Third, if you're constantly facing sweaty try-hard Nurses, you're most likely in high MMR and I recommend you just die a lot so you can come down to my MMR where I hardly see a Nurse. Maybe 1 in 20 matches these days. I get a lot of Whiskers, tunneling Nemos, a rare Oni-chan here and there, Dredge is about one out of 4/5 matches and Plague is about one in six matches. Blight and twins are even more rare than Nurse. Sadako is a common killer I face as well.
I play solo and I have learned lowering my MMR on purpose by doing all the things and then getting hooked after a gate is opened just pairs me with baby Dwights. It's not a good time lol

I think I would accept it more if they tunneled everyone else, but literally only went after me right after I was unhooked each time. Didn't do it to anyone else. If people want to defend that, it's cool. Have every right to and they're not wrong for their opinion. I just strongly disagree. I just don't appreciate being targeted specifically repeatedly because one gen was done. Like it's crappy game play and discourages wanting to play. If it wasn't for challenges I wouldn't be playing Solo Q. I just don't think this type of game play should be encouraged or rewarded but that's my opinion.

Upvote and reply to the Bug Report to help bring it to the attention of the devs:

Thanks! Added a comment to bring it up to the top. Still keeping this one because it could also be seen as poor map design on top of being a bug. This map seems to have all kinds of issues.
