Been watching a streamer since the change and there has been a noticeable difference. There have been a few times where he'll be right behind a survivor, go to hit them but suddenly his weapon just phases through them. Between this, grabs not registering and the busted "auto-aim", I'm honestly over playing killer. This game keeps pushing me towards playing survivor, so I'm just gonna give in and become a survivor main.

I’m not a game designer but three months doesn’t seem like a lot of time to create/try/balance any killer power, specifically one that is completely brand new and original. Makes sense to me that they would borrow heavily from previous killers and experience.
might be worth to give them a 3 month period after releasing 3 killers and have then end the year with heavy bug fixes and perk changes while really creating/experimenting/polishing a more unique killer. We could start every new year with a bang and build momentum and new bugs and repeat the process at the end of the year.
Gotta make those new chapter bank though~
That's not how it works. They create and work on multiple chapters at the same time. Judging by what devs have said in posts, at the start of the year they plan out the 4 chapters they're going to release for the year then start working on them, obtaining licences etc. So they usually have plenty of time to plan this stuff out.

So, a non response basically? “Just buy it or wait” aka, what everyone knows already. OP is suggesting something different. That’s not a bad thing. If you don’t have anything of value to add, why are you here?
Your logic: “you don’t need certain perks to queue into a game, therefore, it’s fine”
Riight
Kilmeran also made a good point. Licensers also expect to make money from them, adding an option in game that decreases the possibility of revenue to be made from them is only going to scare license holders way. Why would anyone give the rights of something they own if they're not going to make much money. Suck it up and buy the chapter or go suck a lemon, bud.

Considering keys are about to get a major buff, moris shouldn't be touched till devs deal with keys. Morris and Franklins are the only semi real counters to keys atm, so nerfing one of these counters is just going to cause a major imbalance.

Lol, this has got to be the worst case of consumer sheep I've ever seen.
There are perks that significantly alter the gameplay, behind a pay wall.
I didn't even suggest them to give the perks for free, but to less the grind and randomness for getting them.
"Entitled" Lols. I own every killer already released dude, I'm not affected at all by this anti consumer model. I made a proposal to help aliviate the grind and randomness for other players.
Such a sheep lol
Riiight... Like I said before, you can easily still win without those perks, it's not like they are a must to stand a chance, nor are they a required perk that needs to be equipped to exit the game. Either buy the DLC or wait for it to show up on the shrine.

Do you not understand that any survivor who touches or even passes a totem gets their aura read? Imagine a perk like that for survivors and the backlash it would face.
You mean Object of obsession? You know the perk that reveals the killers location to you at all times.
-
Lol, or just pay the $10 for the DLC. It's definitely not "ptw" because you can easily win matchs without perks. Stop being entitled.
-
There are 6+ counters to the perk, one being just stand still for 5 seconds. Learn the counters and stop being lazy.

Also, as a PC player with bad aim, I literally just started leveling Huntress. Figured now would be a good time to get some practice in because I might actually land some hits and develop my aiming skills without getting absolutely stomped, partly because console gamers probably aren't used to seeing her too much and partly because of the rank reset. Have lost a few games but nothing terrible. Girl needs a reticle, though. Not trying to make anyone's life miserable, just trying to enjoy some relative relaxation for once while I learn a killer without having to sweat my balls off.
This is aimed towards the ones with exhaustion hatches, who were trying to make the matchs miserable. But yeah, I've goone against a lot of them because of her tome and challenges a couple of months back.

Besides, rank reset just happened the same time this stuff was turned on. A mediocre PC player won't be any different than a mediocre console player. The only time you will notice a large difference is at high level play, which, judging by your original post, you are not at yet (at least not since cross-play has been turned on.)
So far I've been matched with rank 5's, so it's save to say they were red ranks before rank reset.

There is no way for you to know if that was a PC player or a console different from yours. Please be a bit more careful before you post aggressive comments like this as it is very likely you have yet to even find a PC huntress.
I've gone against some of them on PC before, that's how I know they're on PC.

2ks a draw, where did you see win?
I know it's a draw, but the devs have repeatedly said that a 2k is a win, even though the emblem system doesn't reflect this.
-
@Peanits said:
Definitely not. The alternative to not having the hatch is the last survivor playing hide or seek for half an hour until I lose interest so they actually have a chance to do a generator without me catching them in the process, repeat for however many generators are remaining. The same thing happened back when the hatch wouldn't spawn unless at least two generators were done and it made matches last forever. They knew if they touched one, they were dead, so it turned into a waiting game.
I'd rather just take my win and move on to the next match, personally.
Till you get slapped with "brutal killer" because you didn't slug for the 4k.
-
@Peanits said:
To clear one thing up, the found survivors points shown on the emblem screen there does not mean how many survivors you've found. The number on the emblem screen a percentage of the total points required for an iridescent emblem. In this case, finding survivors gives you 5 chaser points, and you found survivors ten times that match, leaving you with 2% (50 of the total 2,550 chaser points required).
Outside of that, chaser is awarded for having lots of successful and fast chases, where a chase ends when you either lose the survivor or land a hit. The shorter your chase, the more chaser points you bank. Chaser does not award bonus points for downing a survivor, so using things that allow you to down a survivor from healthy effectively halves the number of chases you'll be scoring points on.
You didn't lose any points for camping, so you're already doing great there. If you're looking to get your adept, you might want to slug a little bit rather than hooking right away. That'll give you more opportunities to chase survivors before they die.
You guys have said repeatedly that a 2k is a win, so why doesn't a 4k guarantee a win?
-
Because his og ability was pretty op at the time. It forced survivors to waste way too much time and there wasn't really a counter to it. It use to take survivors up like 40 seconds to mend, and by then legion would have ability back, so he could survivors right back into deep wound. This created an endless cycle of mending pretty much, which was ridiculous when you combined it with old ruin. Not to mention he could just run up to a survivor in frenzy and hit them till they were down, making him the go to killer to tunnel survivors into oblivion.

That's an original killer. Ghost Face is from a teen slasher series. I'm not saying that killers from "certain" areas can't be in the game. I'm just saying that putting a literal kids villain in a MATURE game will turn away a lot of New and current players. If FNAF gets a killer into the game what's to keep Ursula from the Little Mermaid out?
GF is from the og scream movies, which is why we have the og scream mask and robe in the game. If he was from the teen drama series then gf would have that terrible knock off mask from the show.

Hey guys its Dabih and I wanted to talk about a subject I wanted to talk about but didn't have the courage to mostly because of what this subject is. And that is Springtrap being in DBD, I know how controversial this is, and how many people hate the idea. But this is something I wanted to get off my shoulders and talk about. So to begin why I think he would be a great addition is because he is a memorable and iconic character in the horror genre, and the Fnaf game is a very memorable, popular, and important pinnacle of the horror franchise. And the fact that the game is painted to some as a kids game is kinda sad to me, the thing is that Fnaf is considered this because of its audience. When it came out it was never intended to be for a younger audience but during the time it was released it was difficult to control what you could watch on Youtube and I think you know the rest of the story. But by then the damage was done and Scott Cawthon couldn't really do anything( meaning: make it more graphic and violent, or swearing/ basically anything to make the game rated M) about it when a great majority of fans of the game were young
I say Fnaf is a pinnacle of horror for its jump scares, all of those who played the original 4 know what I'm talking about there was a level of fear that was within Fnaf that made it very uncomfortable to play, it was just the tone it had. I think it was a smart to create something that we usually would love and make it into something terrifying works greatly and at times you felt utterly helpless also that heightened the fear within the games. The Jumpscares are terrifying for the fact it was right in front in your face made it all the more scary and were unsuspecting. I think the franchise has made its mark in the history of horror.
Now here is a personal level for me why I would love to see Spring trap in the game. When I was growing up in school i would here people talk about a game called Five Nights at Freddys, I was curious and looked it up and to my surprise it was popular seriously back then if you looked up fnaf you would see tons of youtube videos with theories and gameplay, I mean this was the crave back then and still is today(to some degree). A group in my school who were big fans of the franchise had a little get together at times, I was social outcast and me being a fan of the game and actually connecting with people that enjoyed what I enjoyed made me feel accepted. I joined the group and I became happier and more self esteem, we had many great discussions sharing our experiences of the game, they were fun. Overtime I felt better about myself and I didn't consider myself an outcast anymore, in a way FNAF has changed my life for the long run. Even when it became more kid friendly at times I reminded myself this is a game I will stick with for a long long time, because it really was a dark and twisted series. After a while my love for the franchise died slightly, and this when I got into dbd and when I heard someone started a petition to get Springtrap in the game I was down for it immediately. I really want this to be in the game because fnaf was the first ever horror series I actually got into, I mean this was my childhood, this game made me into a huge fan of horror and introduced me to a genre I truly love, and I thank the game for that, it would make me and some other people happy to see the game that cemented my love for horror in general into dbd, and honestly I think if it were ever to come to the game it will show what Fnaf could've been, a darker more gruesome tone than what was given. Thank you that is all I have to say and I know I'm digging my grave but that's okay, I'm willing to admit that I am someone who supports this.
Sorry, But fnaf is not an "iconic character in horror", in fact it's a stain on horror. The only reason people even considered it "scary" was because it was jam packed with jump scares, but that's all it was. There was nothing else scary about it. Not to mention, because of its popularity with pre-teens, horror movies themselves started shifting towards being PG-13 jump scares to cash in on that trend. So let's not try and say it's on the same level as og horror.
-
Not mention the devs consider a 2k a win, so you would think that getting a 3k+ would be a grantee pip.

This is lacking a little bit of context.
Usually survivors don’t send messages like this unless they feel like they’ve been singled out and the other 3 are being ignored for no good reason, and get next to no opportunity to play in the match.
In short, she was the first survivor I found. I downed, put a trap on her then hooked her. I left downed and hooked another survivor. Came back to the area to check gens, seen her cleansing a totem, downed and hooked her again. I left, chased and hooked other survivors. I came back to the area to see a gen about to pop with a Nancy on it. Nancy sees me and runs off, as this happens this survivor runs into me (because there was also a jigsaw box next to the gen), I down her, she then dc's and sends me this message.
Just to be a bit more clear, she wasn't a very good survivor. She was always out positioned and never even tried to loop me. Nor did she try and heal.

I already get robbed of hits because of the buggy auto aim, so I can only imagine how it's going to be after these changes.

Thank you for this @Hoodied it explains things very well.
The Devs do know their own game, they know their game very well indeed. And yes, Billy will now require that little bit more skill to effectively manage his power - I personally don't see that as a bad thing at all. He's still going to be very strong and there's still going to be counterplay to him.
Lul, why are killers always the ones who are forced to improve theirs skills. Currently survivors can just hold w and run from safe pallet to safe pallet, while the other survivors abuse the busted gen speeds and rinse through gens without the need to do a secondary objective, also lets not forget that they can join a swf and make all the easier. There is very little skill in that. How about survivors get slapped with the nerfs that force them to improve their skills for a change.
-
Honestly, if they actually balanced loops and maps properly and actually fixed killer sounds it would make all the difference in the world. I've gone against swfs on cold wind who think they bested me with skill (when they just had endless safe pallets and junglegyms), but then when I go against them again on a maps like the game or Hawkins I'll completely stomp them.
But yeah, killer is definitely stressful, especially in red ranks. I rarely encounter games where I've had fun anymore, especially when you throw in all the salty messages you get at the end of the match. That brief time where people couldn't access your profile to send messages was probably one of tbe best bugs added to the game.
-
Lol. The mods on this forum can't even hide their hypocrisy and favouritism, so it's unrealistic to expect the devs to fix bugs that have been the game for over a year now. I just want to be able to use spirit again without having to deal with survivors that have built in ironwill.

Nice attempt at the insults, especially when my entire point has flown over you and the other person's head. :') Did I say I expect to escape? No, lmao. Do I need to break down the basic game mechanics to you, bud? To get the crown, the survivors need to find it and escape just like a normal game. It keeps them motivated and they won't DC on the hook after finding it - so the game proceeds like normal but they still need to get their ass out to keep it. That's fine. Killers can find the crown and either go afk or decide to be toxic, like many people are seeing today, and make sure no survivors leave with the crown but their own is guaranteed no matter what they do or do not accomplish. Killers are going to kill, obviously, but to be fair I (and others) are suggesting that theirs should be a challenge, too: like getting at least 2 kills to secure their crown. It keeps the games going like normal and they have a goal just like survivors. They'd have to work for their cosmetic as well instead of going, "well, I have my crown buckled down, time to tunnel and deprive the others just to be toxic!" That, or as someone above suggested, maybe letting survivors keep theirs as long as they find it and complete a gen or don't kill themselves on hook/DC. This wouldn't be a complaint at all if killers weren't intentionally tunneling survivors with them.
Make stupid comments, you'll get insult and have your stupidity called out. The solution is to make it easier for survivor, not harder for killer. And for the love of god, don't try and use anecdotes in your arguments, it's doesn't help with the whole stupidity thing you've got going on.
-
@NikkiMouse said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1381101#Comment_1381101
What about my remark confuses you, exactly? I'm saying that killers should have to earn their crowns like survivors have to. If the survivors have to find it and escape, killers should have to kill (maybe at least 2). The fact that they can find the crown, which guarantees the cosmetic, then can tunnel survivors to deprive them of the same item they get effortlessly is frustrating survivors.
He's not confused you potato, he's pointing out the stupidity of your comment. You're complaining about killers being try hard and killing you and your team (not letting anyone escape), but then saying killers should have to get a 4k to secure theirs. Do you not see the issue there? What you're suggesting will result in killers becoming more try hard, which will make it even more difficult for you. Use your critical thinking skills next time, lol.

@Snowstruck said:
Seriously..
It's ridiculous. Killers don't even have to get a single kill. Finish the trial. Why do survivors have to escape?
People are going to sweat, and tunnel, and camp, and sometimes they purposefully try and ruin it for you, as well, so why can't we just.. finish the trial with a crown as well?
It's just that much more frustrating.
Welcome to the world of killer. E.g. why do survivors only have to escape the trial to get the adept achievement, but killers have to get a 4k and a perfect emblem score. Suck it up buttercup, it's definitely not that hard. I got the crown for feng and Dwight within 30mins, even though 2 survivors killed themselves within the first minute of the game for one of the matches.

Tru3 has actually uploaded multiple videos of him mind gaming extremely good spirits, even ones with the old prayer beads. You're just too ignorant to admit you're wrong, because that means you'd have to accept you aren't as good as you think you are. Lol, are you serious? Nurse is already the hardest thing to learn in the game, survivor (especially swf) is literally the easiest thing to learn in the game. Play survivor needs to be made much more difficult before the raise the skill cap of nurse even further.

Another killer I kill myself with is Deathslinger, you know why? It's very boring, I'm dying of sleep playing against him.
Their not boring, you're just sh*t. Instead of learning counters, you take the easy way out. It's not about luck, it's about skill. The goal is to be unpredictable, not be another predictable survivor who runs in a straight line from pallet to pallet.

I do the same, I don't play killer spirit and neither against her, I always commit suicide (the new DC).
If you don't have fun playing against it go to the next game and voila, find your way to have fun, it's a game.
I will always say:
Sprit = Nurse for fools.
Oni = Billy for fools.
Spirit isn't used anywhere near as much as before the previous Spirit nerf. Not to mention they've already nerfed a large chunck of her mind game potential because of terrible and lazy survivors like you and op.
You do also realise that oni is a weaker version of Billy, right? And you definitely shouldn't be calling someone a "fool" for playing and learning a killer, when you're such a bad survivor that you have to resort to killing yourself on hook, since you can't counter killers for sh*t.

No her traps do not. You could essentially 99 all gens before one even activates.
Yes, but then the you can just use perks like pop or ruin to counter that. In my experience of playing pig the past few weeks is, survivors will either completely forget about the 99% gen, which allows it to completely regress. Or they'll try and rush gens, resulting in 2+ plus traps activating at once, which ends in one or 2 head pops.
Do you actually play pig much? Because it honestly sounds like you don't, or you play her poorly.

That is not it's intended purpose and is just a weak validation in my opinion. In this game seconds are precious. Why on earth would be wise to in the middle of a hot chase, crouch, wind up, and hold? Those are inputs you're doing. While the other player is just running. That's not prudent at all. And highly unreliable. I doubt anyone would be able to successfully replicate getting hits off of crouch and dash mid chase back to back
Crouching and charging up a dash attack only takes a few seconds, it's also a hell of a lot quicker than looping the survivor around that pallet wasting 3 times more time. Her traps also puts the game to a grinding holt, so you have penalty of time.
-
@EntityDrudge said:
I'm just going to get straight to it
-Trap timer should start as soon as survivor begins ANY action that progresses them towards their goal. Healing, sabotage, totems, door opening, generators. That's how "The Game" works in every Saw. This waiting till a gen pops crap is ridiculous. You shouldn't be comfortably destroying hexes with a trap on your head.
-Leaving with a trap on your head should absolutely NEVER be allowed. It makes no logical sense.
-Replace lunge attack with something else or make it a 1 shot. It's pointless. Your wind up is too long, and if you're close enough to use it and still undetected, you might as well stand up and attack quicker.
back to the first point, you only get so many traps, so why the hell did you make them useless? Not like they can be spammed. If you're playing Pig, it should just be expected that you're gonna have to get it off. Same as if you play legion, you expect that you're gonna have to mend, doc snap out of it, trapper look at the ground, hag same thing, the shape be vigilant, spirit listen, freddy wake up, etc.
Her dash doesn't need changing, you can use it to mind game loops. I've been able to shut down chases fast with it.

While I want DBD to have a rival, so the balance team is forced to get its sh*t together, a lot of these other 4v1 horror games are limiting themselves from the beginning. The reason DBD remains on top is because they're able to add new killers/survivors every 3 months to help keep things fresh, while others like Predator and Resistance limit themselves to the content of their own franchise. This means they'll get repetitive and boring really quickly, while not having a lot of ways to keep things fresh. So they'll most likely go the way of Friday the 13th.

You can't be serious? The devs have literally said in the past that they prioritize survivor issues over killer, and if we don't like it we shkuld either play survivor or play a different game.
And if that isn't enough? Have a read of this.

Nothing is going to get done either way I could go through the list of changes starting with how the tool boxes are basically useless now or how they added another ranged killer with improvement to hit boxes so they shooting people around corners and what have you. The doctor was already a huge pain in the bum and they just made it even worse. The problem is if the killer mains out there decide that something is too good for survivors to have they unite to get it removed and the survivor don't get any compensation for it the loss.
Have You actually used toolboxes after the update? I have. I was able to complete half a gen in a few seconds with a purple toolbox and brand new part, so they definitely aren't useless, you just can't use them on multiple gens any more.

All things consider as of today I know survivor side is dropping drastically I ran into the same people 3 games in a row and as killer I ran into same group back to back then a third time a few games later so I don't know what to tell you considering it takes 4 survivors to 1 killer to make a game go I would think that running survivors off would hurt the player base as whole more but what do I know it's only simple math
The only reason there are a low number of survivors atm is because everyone wants to play the new killer, this happens every time a new one is released. Survivors still drastically out number killers, so even if survivors were to up and quit I bet killer lobbies would still be instant.
Seriously, stop acting like a spoilt little brat. Learn to deal and adapt to these challenges, like how you survivor mains continuously tell killers how to. All these changes are doing is ripping the power role from survivors, so now you'll actually have to develop some skill instead of just abusing broken game mechanics for the easy win.

why do you think deathslinger needs any changes? he's fine.
No he's not. They need to either increase his base movement speed to 115% or increase the range of his weapon. His ability isn't strong enough to justify having a base movement speed of 110% atm.

"loads" yeah ok please share with decent evidence vs good people that arent rank 10
Lockers and calm spirit counter his shocks. Like I said before, drop pallets early. His shock has a short range and takes time to charge, which gives you enough time to drop pallets or move to the side to doge his shock. I've gone against plenty of experienced survivors who have learnt to do these things. It's clear you're not a very experienced survivor.

doctors shock is way too spamable to have any relative counterplay. any decent doctor thats good at shock timings has 0 counterplay regardless of how good of a looper you are. range addons make it even harder to dodge just make life hell and now theyre even buffing his addons. why? hes absurd
Counters: drop pallets early and move to the side to avoid his shock. Just because you don't know counters doesn't mean there aren't any.
