Because when it is used for distance you can't do anything. It also rewards survivors for playing greedy and can be used at any time when injured, it is very unconditional.
It can also work on mindgame hits sometimes, it is frustrating to get a perfect mindgame that should result in a hit but lose it because a survivor pressed a button on their keyboard. This situation is less common, but still a frustrating one that does happen.
So then do you think Sprint Burst is problematic when it gives you more distance?
-
Bro just use ruin undying.
-
I think everyone who wants solo buffed wants comparable buffs to killer too or if they don't they are just biased.
-
There's also only like 3,000 people playing Home Sweet Home with an apparently bad server system. DbD has like 50,000 on PC alone, not including every console. There are a lot more players to pull from which muddies up the matchmaking a lot.
-
Bubba is absolutely one of the worst characters in the game. If you can't run a bubba for 5 gens on most maps you're just bad
-
I think iri addons in general are a bad idea and very hard to balance right. They shouldn't be crazy good or even that good at all because how is it fair that you can just use an addon to make your killer way better than normal? Imagine if in any fighting game you can just attach something to your character to buff them for no reason, it would be unfair.
-
I mean every killer has above an average 50% kill rate in red ranks and the vast majority have above 60%. If the average killer can do it you can too, it just takes time and practice.
-
You can't compare stuff like Mettle of Man, Soul Guard, and Flip Flop to perks like NOED, Ruin + Undying (literally resets gens to 0 with very little pressure), and Devour Hope. There are some legitimately good second chance perks you listed but the ones that are actually worth using are about the same as the amount of killer ones.
-
I really hope it's not something from RE8. There are so many classic characters from the earlier games that it would feel so bad to have something from just the newest game that's very different.
-
Nah. Killers with permanent effects like that are really really hard to balance especially something like that because of the 3-gen strategy that could be literally impossible to win.
-
I had chats where I genuinely had no idea what the person was trying to say because all I saw was "#### ## ##########"

Great MMR now are you ready for 150 spirit games in a row :)
I would rather go against 100 spirits of equal skill level to me in a row than keep being matched with survivors who can't run a legion for literally more than 10 seconds.
-
I really want Nemesis. Mr. X looks really stupid to me with that trench coat and fedora. As for Survivor Jill or Leon seem the most likely.
-
(FYI reporting does almost nothing anyway)
-
Honestly in my games as a solo survivor I genuinely don't see it that often. I will however trash talk anybody that uses unfair tactics to gain an advantage.
-
I think it's just a weird glitch.
-
NOED can potentially kill every survivor in the game in one hit. Dead Hard can be pretty useless against certain killers like Deathslinger, Spirit, Freddy, etc. because their powers basically counter it. It also just straight up doesn't work if you're in an area with no/unsafe pallets or windows, in order to get it to work efficiently you have to tick a lot of boxes.
Adrenaline also heals you a state once you've finished every gen. NOED does the opposite, it gives you free kills once you've failed to protect every gen, it literally rewards you for bad gameplay. Adrenaline at least rewards you for good gameplay and completing the gens.
The only argument I can kind of see is for Unbreakable but even then it's kind of your fault for slugging people. And don't say "it's the survivors fault for not cleansing every single totem!" Yes, because cleansing 5 hidden totems with random teammates with no communication and no totem counter is the same as just not hooking someone for 30 seconds or whatever it is for Unbreakable.
-
it's bannable only if the killer does it for griefing purposes. Like if a killer blocks a survivor in a corner and doesn't move for 5 minutes. Survivors can't body block a killer for griefing purposes because the killer can just down them.

MMR isn't going to solve that problem.
You'll play against Killers who will know how to stomp you and the games will get very tedious.
I mean not in my experience. The games were extremely enjoyable because everybody was of relatively equal skill. Most games nowadays either end up with the survivors being stomped or the killer being stomped, not much in between. MMR was mostly perfect for me and ran that fine line of being balanced.
-
I like it but I feel like needing to destroy 2 totems every game for only 1 perk is kinda too much. I feel like the problem with NOED is that it's a noob destroyer. This only really makes that problem worse because most new players just ignore totems unless it's glowing.

Again, BHVR's stats are deeply flawed.
The Killer stats that you are using are for Red Ranked Killers, but those Killers are not playing Red Ranked Survivors in every match. Of course the Kill Rate is going to be higher if Red Rank Killers are playing lower ranked Survivors.
My experience with MMR was absolutely awful. It took me 45 minutes to get into games and I got absolutely blasted when I did get in. It was not fun.
You hit the nail on the head with that. That is exactly my point. I'm always getting matched with survivors who are not red rank when the killer is red rank. Like i've been saying, this is my problem and the stats are flawed because of this bad matchmaking which is why I don't want to play anymore. If there was actual good matchmaking, the stats wouldn't be so inflated for killers.

Are you using your own stats or BHVR's stats?
I'm using BHVR's stats... The point of this post isn't to say that things need balancing or changing except for the matchmaking system which literally everybody agrees with. The stats BHVR have provided are for the average game where the killer is of red rank. I fall into that category because I only play solo Q which the majority of survivors also play and 95% of the killers I get are in the red ranks. The stats are so high in the killer's favor because the survivors they got matched up with are always really bad because it's so easy to rank up as a survivor. Me who has been playing the game for 2 years and have 1,200 hours can get matched up with survivors who have less than 100 hours and that isn't fair when we're going against killers who have been playing for a long time. MMR is changing this though because in my experience it was really good.

Likely.
We have NO idea of what variables they took into account. For example, we know Red Rank Kill Rate only means the Killer was Red Ranked, the Survivors could be Green.
That doesn't change my point. I only play solo Q and red rank so i'm in the average red rank game. The stats are for the average red rank killer games and that's like 95% of my games.
-
What do you mean they aren't accurate? The stats are different from what the devs show?
-
Don't camp.
-
Dead Hard is definitely not too good, this is coming from a consistently rank 1 survivor and killer. Sprint Burst is debatebly better, the reason it's not is because DH gives you those i-frames which is good in other more rare situations like dodging a hatchet.
-
Yes we should have the game be unbalanced to one side because it's more "fun" or entertaining?
-
Every meta killer perk is free except for BBQ, you have to grind shards for them but it's no additional cost. If you want to get better at the game you're going to have to just practice and earn in-game currency to buy new characters and perks. Like every game it takes time to get good.
-
I feel like it can be amazing in very specific circumstances that are hard to get. Most maps are pretty open and it really won't do that much for you. It will only really be fantastic on indoor maps and even then you can just get hit, be left alone and then be injured on a gen for 90 seconds and get no use at all.
-
Ok so what BT does is it gives the unhooked person the endurance status effect. Basically the endurance status effect blocks any instance of going into the dying state, being in a chase or not, it could be a cross map hatchet. 8 knives, chainsaws, hatchets, everything. Because all getting hit with 8 knives does is take away a health state it blocks going down.
-
I have not noticed anything different.

Imagine saying this with a straight face.
Lots of killers played this game back when DS had an infinite timer. They also played this game when exhaustion would deplete when survivors were still running. Killer is by far at it's easiest and the game is getting more and more popular every year. The player base is getting huge and it's because killer has gotten so many buffs over the years.
-
It kind of reminds me of Pharmacy when you describe it like that. A free green medkit. I think Pharmacy is a very underrated perk but is also really balanced.

Decisive Strike stuns the killer long enough for the survivor to get to a pallet, window, or loop. They can then chain into more pallets, windows, and loops from there.
Dead Hard buys the survivor enough distance (and therefore time) to get to a pallet, window, or loop. They can then chain into more pallets, windows, and loops from there.
With DS the killer has to down you, wipe their weapon, pick you up, and then get stunned for 5 seconds. It buys WAY more time than Dead Hard does. You can just run in a straight line to the exit gate and be invincible with DS, you can't be nearly that risky with Dead Hard.

and if you're a decent survivor and can run the killer for some time after being unhooked before needing to use Decisive Strike it will never be used because the timer ran out.
This is like giving exhaustion perks a timer. Doesn't have to be 60 seconds.
Dead Hard is not as powerful as DS.

Sounds great. If Dead Hard isn't needed, you get to run other more worthwhile perks, like Prove Thyself or Fast Track. Shakes up the meta a bit. It also levels out the skill range a little.
Survivors who are so good that they can go minutes in a chase without needed to use Dead Hard, don't then also get to use Dead Hard on top of it. But survivors who aren't quite that good, can use Dead Hard (or Sprint Burst or Lithe, or Smash hit) to bring themselves up to that sort of level.
I don't think a good "balance" for Dead Hard is making it completely useless (it doesn't need balancing in the first place).
-
I mean if you're a decent survivor and can run the killer for some time before needing to use Dead Hard it will never be used because you'd be exhausted all the time.
-
Nah I would just prefer getting the game over with and moving on. I don't see toxic players that often especially because this is a game with no chat.
-
How is getting more fair matchmaking going to hurt the game...?
-
I only buy the pass if I like the cosmetics. There have been a few where I thought most costumes were ugly or boring so I didn't bother. What seals the deal for me is that you get your money back in auric cells anyway so even if the cosmetics are ok it's worth getting for me.
-
I think the best survivor perks are actually very good and some were definitely too much like old DS. As a survivor main at this point I don't think the good perks are weak.
One thing I kind of do want is the meta to be shaken up a little bit. It gets a tad boring running BT, Dead Hard, Iron Will, etc. I want a new perk to really change up the style a bit which happens to killer somewhat often.
-
It's almost like he moves the same speed as Huntress... The same thing applies as Huntress and Slinger you can't use your power around small rock loops like that you just have to force an M1 or the pallet.
-
Yeah and Bill's perks are really hard to use too. Duh.
-
I never use a build without it, it's that good. So many times my team loses games because nobody brings borrowed time and the killer can just tunnel constantly with no repercussions. It is definitely a game winning perk.
-
This is why I run Spine Chill and Iron Will in almost every game. You can actually tell when Spirit is phasing with Spine Chill.

Many complained about insta saw addons (same as with instant hatchet for huntress, etc), it was the main complain.
The overheat thingy isn't that much of an issue either, how many times will you overheat during a game? Once? Twice? None?It just lowers the "spammability" of your abilities, certain killers needed it. Though, Billy suffers more from new bugs, rather than "OmG oVeRhEaT sUx" nor from new addons (he needed his insta ones nerfed, new ones are meh though).
Well then the insta saw addons should have been nerfed and that's it. No survivors wanted an overheat mechanic.
-
Flashlights are completely fine. It just takes some getting used to but once you learn how they work they're fine.
You shouldn't be just trying to blind them randomly and when they're chasing you. They should mostly be used for when the killer is stuck in an animation and can't move their head like kicking a pallet or picking up a survivor.
-
The thing is nobody complained about Billy at all. He has always been regarded as the most fun to play as/against. Don't blame survivors for something BHVR did.
