First of all you have no idea what you're talking about second of all i can tell you've never played a competitive game in your life if you truly believe MMR and RNG can coexist. Lastly coming at me passive aggressive isn't gonna make your point and it shows if you need to come off like this you can't disprove my points.
You didn't make any points that's why I replied in a similar fashion.
Software engineers are working hard on this SBMM, but you just come and say "it won't work guys, i know it".
-
They are hidden because you should report how the game felt, not what ranks the players had. BHVR can check their logs to see the ranks in every match, it is not needed to report it in the forums.
-
@MonsterInMyMind said:
Behavior, please, for the sake of the community and everyone involved, admit that SBMM(MMR) Is not gonna work and it is so very clear all we've seen these past tests is more examples of failure and now you guys cannot even get the system working properly. Seriously, just give it up.
Yeah, it is not gonna work, because you said so. The mighty all knowing expert in everything. How come you are wasting your life on DBD instead of being the CEO of the next tech giant?
-
@Merricles said:
Either give up or stop trying to reach whatever unrealistic goal you have in mind. SBMM simply CANNOT work in a 4v1 game the way you are attempting to make it so. for example.
ace = eats wraith for breakfast (90%+win ratio)
jake = manages a moderate 70% escape ration from wraith games (70% win ratio)
Meg = “wait, this is a locker right? I’ll just hide all game” (50% win ratio)
dwight = this is my 5th game, hey I’ve seen this guy before he going invisible! (0% win ratio)
now say there are 4 wraiths in que. a high skilled 90%, a lower 70%, a mid 50% and a baby 0% on his 9the game trying.
the way it seems you have SBMM set up is that this team will face either 0% or 50% to keep it “fair” for those survivors but ruin the game for either of those killers.
Im not a coder or anything of the sort, but o would think a formula like this would be the most optimal.
survivor A has a scale of 1-10 for their skill against each killer over that players last 10 ,arches against that kill is public games. Each escape is +1, each death is -1. Repeat this process for survivor b-d. For the sake of this example the killer will be Trapper. Over the last 10 games here are these players stats against trapper.
A: W,W,L,W,W,W,L,L,W,L = 1 SKILL
B: W,W,W,W,W,W,L,W,L,W = 8 SKILL
C: L,L,L,L,W,W,L,L,W,L = -4 SKILL
D: W,W,L,L,W,L,W,L,L,W = 0 SKILL
SURVIVOR TOTAL SKILL AGAINST TRAPPER = 5
Now on killer side, if I account for their last 10 games as Trapper, that’s 40 points total.
1 kill = 1 point
1 escape = -1 point
suppose at the end of all those games this trapper has a score (someone they are this bad) of 7 kills.
open the point gate for games to a grace if 3 points left and right, and you know have a game.
All of that is just my idea on randoms, not swf teams. An swf team should have their own swf score and each killer should have their own swf score. Only teams with acceptable scores should be able to match their equal (with some grace left or right) killer.
doing this would actually make it a SBMM system without bias.
Why do you act like you know it better? Why do you think that that is the formula? Another expert from the University of Life...
-
Because it is always easier to blame others.
-
I suggested this after the last MMR test:
@fogdonkey said:
Ranks should be hidden during MMR tests. Everyone is just focusing on the ranks in their reports, instead of how hard/easy the match was. It is not enough to write down that ranks don't matter, it should be hidden.

Oh wow... Megthomas_ has this amazing outfit from the rift a year ago! I haven't seen it on anyone else! I will run around her just so that I can see it from every angle. To bad I am not doing a video recording, but at least I will make some screenshots! You are so special an I envy you so much!
Hope this helps...

I'm not going to exploit an error in design. Do you honestly think that Devs designed The Shape to stalk people while facing away from them or approach a survivor while walking sideways/backwards?
You could say this on everything:
The devs designed pallets so that spirit fury can instantly break it?
Devs designed totems do that survivors can find them with many perks and break it?
Etc etc...
It is just a perk that works against stealth... And even has a counterplay by not directly looking at the survivor.
-
@Adjatha said:
There are 16 survivor perks and 4 killer ones. Survivor perks should never trump killer ones (but, of course, we see how that works with Iron Will, so there's zero chance this'll get fixed).
Your reasoning doesn't make that much sense.
You could say it the opposite way as well with a similar reasoning: killer has only 4 perks, so it must not trump 16 survivor perks.
-
I am (most of the time) having fun playing killer.
Sometimes if I choose a weaker killer (e.g. Trickster) it can get a bit frustrating, especially against red rank swfs who also bring a hatch offering and a last minute key.
-
Run DS, your teammates need BT and they need to help and take protection hits or even go down for you. And don't start to heal under the hook, just get the f*ck out. Also if you see the killer just start running immediately, don't let yourself be an easy target. Also if they unhook you, and I don't see anyone and only hear your injured sound behind the wall, you will get chased. So teammates have the most important role in avoiding tunnel, you alone can't do that much.
I played a bit killer and without some tunnel it is pretty hard, especially against red rank SWFs.

-
Among us is developing a DBD clone, so most likely not.
-
The game should calculate the shortest path between the killer and the survivor and based on the distance of this shortest path it should decide if the survivor is in terror radius.
This is however also not a perfect solution, because imagine survivor is standing above the killer, but since the stairs are far away, survivor is not in the terror radius. If the survivor jumps down the survivor falls directly on the killer, which is weird because there was no warning. As a solution maybe there should be an additional warning music indicating how easy it is for the survivor to get to the killer.

I agree. I'm not sure what all the Fog Whisperers get for free, but part of the deal seems to be that they "show off" new skins which makes people want to buy them. IMO, that's totally fine, but I agree that it runs against the idea of giving them an exclusive skin to wear instead.
(The funniest videos are the killer videos where someone "shows off" the new killer skin, since you can't see it anywhere but in the menus.)
Yeah, killer skins are weird. You can see your weapon. See your skin during a Mori. If you play Twins, you can see yourself when playing Victor. But I think that's all. Can a Spirit see herself when phasing?
-
I don't really care, but probably they will not create it, for two simple reasons:
- it takes extra money/time to create new skins
- it is better for BHVR if fog whisperers are using or promoting skins that everyone can buy for auric cells

ı don't care loosing all of the match points make him loose a little is the only option for me at that point If it becomes 3v1 and he is a ######### camper tunneler as long as that person doesn't get the pip ı'm okey with loosing my points tht was what ı meant
Well I hope I will not get you as a teammate. I don't like teammates who DC or suicide, because "KiLlEr CaMp AnD tUnNeL". Maybe you get bad selfcaring teammates, because you are also not the brightest player.

If you DC, it is you who does not get points...

I'm tired of a some guys doing nothing but selfcaring for forever and get another hit after that instantly he is wasting time and punishes all survivors why am I have to pay for a coward's action? ı really wish it was reworked like it take less time but then get broken status effect until getting hooked again so that only survivor who uses it gets punished for it what do you guys think?
I don't really see selfcaring survivors. Maybe you are in the noob ranks?
-
For me usually fun = competitive.
What does it even mean to play not competitively? Try to farm and cooperate with the other side? Joke around?
-
And when I play survivor I am saving it for swf usually.
-
I have cakes on every killer, but first I am playing the puddings, because I see how selfish everyone else is :D
When I run out of puddings I will start playing blood party streamers and cakes as well.

That attitude just results in a niche character that no one picks unless they're memeing and another 3 months of waiting hoping for something better next time. The game lives or dies based off if people find a character fun enough to buy and play as.
That's something the devs should worry about, not me. If they spend money on developing a killer that noone buys, that's their problem.
There are 24 killers, so a lot to choose from. It doesn't matter to me if some are not so powerful. Maybe I will play them less often.
-
I think it is fine to have weaker killers. If you don't like them because they are weak, then don't play them. So simple.
And MMR will maybe fix this, it will not match the top survivors against you if you are not so good with a killer. So even weaker killers will be able to achieve 2 kills.

Because winning is fun, and it all comes down to my point: why would someone want to play a mediocre killer?
Why do you care? Play those killers you have fun with. If Trickster is not fun to you, then don't play it.

These comments are a blant disregard to the fact DH can be used for distance. It doesn't take skill to know when you miscalculated a loop, then press E for distance and reach pallet / vault. Let's not act like this isn't something new because this is what people are talking about, not dodging hits at point-blank range.
It is in the perk description that it can be used for distance. You dash forward and also avoid damage.

In what messed up world of yours is having survivors go down, you go into weapon-wipe cooldown, they then stand back up and you stunned a good solution or a good step?
Also I don't see any weapon wipe cool down in these reports. They get stunned because of pallet hit.

My experience has been that I can hit survivors through pallets unless they have lower ping then me, in which case I cannot
Example:
If you look at pings when I pause you can see these 2 have over 100 ping which is worse than mine.
It is not only about who has better ping. If your ping is high you are slightly out of sync with the server, even if your ping is better than the survivor's.
-
Proposed fix:
1) Play sound and injured/dead animation only when confirmed from server.
2) Make stricter latency requirements.

Shifting a problem from side A to side B instead of properly fixing it is not an acceptable solution. I don't care how it is from the perspective of survivors or who has priority over what situation, those are both bad faith arguments.
Maybe there is no good solution, because there will always be latency. So they need to choose the least bad solution. What they did is a good step.

No, because it needs no nerf.

You probably didn't understand my point. it's possible that on one platform players have a harder time than the others and that's the reason why they use noed more.
It is still not good...
Imagine that 25% of people use Noed on PC and also 25% of people use Noed on console. So there is no difference, it is equally likely that a player will use Noed on both platforms.
Now let's say there are 100 PC players and 200 console players.
Your poll result will say 25 PC Noed and 50 console Noed... Which you will interpret as console players are two times more likely to use Noed. But this is incorrect... The problem is that you are not taking into account how many players there are on each platform.
-
Lol... What results are you expecting if all we can say is that Noed was used?
Sorry, but this is a very stupid poll.
Similar to this:
What is your favorite color?
Options to select:
- blue
- blue
Result: everybody's favorite color is blue.

I've abandoned the game before, no doubt I would return if I were to leave.
Besides, it's a bit of a promise to myself, while also being a motivation in the long run. If I ever become known enough in the DBD community, there would be additional motivation for the devs to change the way survivor BP works.
Not sure if either ever would come true before I die, but, it's worth having imo. I already have plenty BP, I dont rely on any specific perk, item or addon in the game. Heck, I've even started prestiging characters. Started in Januari(already had Meg and Cheryl p3), already finished 7 characters. Getting about 1 character p3 every month. With this rythm, I will finish killers within 2 years from now and if I want survivors too, it would take another 2,5 years.
And that is assuming BP gainage would remain the same on both sides and the bloodcap stays the same.
It is good that you have plans.
I am a bit skeptical about the part of becoming famous to give motivation to the devs. There are already famous streamers in the community, and the devs don't really care about their opinions or suggestions.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/269272/dont-be-selfish-hoard-cakes-again-please
I mean, I hoarded cakes during the entire event while using cakes too. And no, I will not use my cakes. In fact, I have 100+ cakes left from last year that I refuse to use untill survivor BP is better. Once survivors can get 20k BP even if they are being camped on the hook(this can be doable by simply making all survivor catagories a global pool), then I will gladly use up 99% of the cakes I own on survivors. I dont really see the reason in using a cake if I end up getting 6k BP(30k with the cake multiplier) because I was tunneled/camped out. While if I play killer, I can get 200k+ BP in just the average match.
On killers, I have used one every single match.
I think it is more likely that you will abandon the game before they finally change it. So you can just use the cakes now while you still play DBD.
-
So if you know that the survivors are already in the exit gate just don't go there. You will not see them tbagging and also they will not get their toxicity satisfied.
Problem solved.

It is good in any multiplayer online game where developers actually care about all players, not just the ones in their favorite countries. There is a ######### way around it. Devs ######### on players in countries distant from them and everyone is celebrating now. This is just disgusting.
I am kinda waiting to see how killers from these countries will react now, when chasing survivors will be not as beneficial as before. Guess which tactics will be prevalent.
But then it is a separate issue. You should ask BHVR to add more servers around the globe.

i know how it works and dont get me wrong, i am extremly happy about that change.
But it still is implementet poorly since me and many others who got really good pings still get hits denied.
This didnt happened with dropping pallets for me tho, but if survivors VAULT pallets and i clearly hit them i still get the hit denied. And like i said, i have a ping of 20.
What is the ping of the survivor? Maybe they also have good ping.
-
Just play all the killers. Isn't it boring to always play with the same killer?
-
Your latency is too high.
Before the change the survivors were unfairly suffering because of your bad latency. Now it is you who suffers. I think it is fair.
What BHVR should do is to wait a bit with the down animation until it is confirmed from the server.
-
@Ruma said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2391633#Comment_2391633
It also punishes players with good pings from time to time and killers still get hit by pallets from miles away.
And i got a ping of 20.
Before the change it was decided like if the killer had 0 latency. To block a hit with a pallet the survivor had to deal with the sum of both survivor and killer latency. So it is easy to see it was unfair to the survivors.
Now it is decided on the sever, so survivors are affected only by their own latency, and also killers by their own.
-
@pandorayr said:
devs should be improve "hit validation" the patch is horrible and benefits only survivors.
They moved the validation from killer to the server, so in a sense yes, it benefits the survivors. But they are taking away only the unfair advantage from the killer. Now it is decided on server side, not on killer side if the pallet stun should take effect.
