Have you actually tried playing killer after the new meta and the 50 secs?

10 secs for each gen really isnt enough, i dont feel the change on that account, at all.

If I say yes what are you gonna say next, that I'm low MMR or what other strawman?

  • I really like your rookie spirits idea

Pharmacy could be too strong (medkits already are the strongest item in the game, and you would like to add to the strongest medkit a second full heal)

Your self preservation idea would be too strong in swf scenarios (calls like killer is double backing, killer vaulted, killer moonwalking), especially with open handed as it would be a stronger version of pre rework OoO

  • As with any other of your threads, skill issues

  • Why not overhaul Twins power so they won't rely anymore on what makes them extremely unpopular, that is: being on the floor for most of the match?

  • I just don't tunnel and play builds I wouldn't hate going against

  • @dugman said:

Honestly I kind of wish the whole lobby was hidden altogether. If they made it so when you click Ready it just waits until a full match is prepared behind the scenes and then sends everybody straight to it that would solve a few issues like frequent lobby dodging for no reason and people just waiting the full minute every single lobby to start the match. Yeah hypothetically it would take away possible pre-match survivor coordination in solo queue but honestly that's probably not a big deal.

That would be a much better solution yeah. However, it might require "more coding" than simply hiding the prestige level from the lobby, I guess

  • That's honestly a lot of data and commitment

I do hope they get reworked.

They've been an absolute failure since they released, on par with Legion.

    You forgot trickster

There are up to 3 other survivor, not all of them have to look for the totem at the same time, right?

And yes I was to lazy to erase the bodyblock part when i remembered the exposed but it's probably still possible with the new dh or something. At least i wouldn't be surprised.

Keked at the lazy part, would've done the same

I still disagree though, situational cleansing happens with current dh too so it's not like it's more likely, it's just *perceived* more likely

If the hex gets cleansed mid Mori animation you at least get one kill, not with the new version.

Plus flashlight saves, bodyblock, sabo and so on aka more save chances for survivors after the change.

Flashlight saves? Body blocks? You mean people around you while exposed who could be immediately sacrificed too, and not looking around for the totem?

  • They literally said they're comfortable with a 60/40 winrate, after a year of killer buffs that made solo queue and almost any non seal six team swf very unfun to play. The moment they give some QoL buffs to improve unfun mechanics though it's the end of the world. This stuff doesn't even come with next patch so they have a lot of time to work on it and rebalance numbers, but apparently a lot of you are unable to read this too

  • @burt0r said:

There is a distinct difference between the Mori right from the ground and having to pick up and carry to the next hook.

Even the roughly 10 seconds extra to break the hex totem.

The unlucky timings happen even with current devour hope. The duration of the animation and the time to pick up + hook are on average very similar too. I still don't see the difference

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/348116/i-honestly-dont-understand

Mori offerings are going to be meh, the BP rewards are a bit stingy for the condition - and it's going to lead to very sweaty play.

Unbreakable...I'm completely okay with allowing self ups, but as things stand, there are too many scenarios where you basically have to slug people. Spots where you can't pick up survivors still exist, ditto areas where you cannot realistically hook people or where it's literally impossible to avoid saves (double locker flashlight groups). Plus - Twins.

Devour Hope and Rancor are going to be weaksauce now, and will need some more adjustments.

Devour hope literally doesn't change at all

Rancor's best use was the information provided during the match anyway, the mori was just the icing. I really don't know who would ever use it for the end game part more than for the information it provides, unless one has to do a daily and doesn't want to bring offerings

lose/lose situations are okay if they happen to killers, apparently

True, that's why DS and OTR still work during end game, to guarantee survivors get out no matter what.

    Ah wait-

  • You got it already, it was defined as "50 total seconds more to complete all generators"

Sounds like added slowdown to me

  • Although kind of bad taste, it really doesn't bother me anymore. I play my game, the only instance where I'd get annoyed is if they held me hostage, but it never happened so far

  • Incredibile how the people that I would assume would be exactly those killers you'd rather yeet yourself off the hook than playing against are also the ones hating this change

    Awesome work BHVR <3

  • I'll take nurse with full aura reading than nurse with one shots or nurse with slowdowns

There is some validity to your point but while Nurse still has the lowest kill rates in the game suggesting ANOTHER nerf to her sounds ludicrous. New players instead of struggling with her and maybe persevering wouldn't even bother.

Yes if you put the time in, get your ass kicked in a couple hundred games, make the actual EFFORT to be a good Nurse you are a force to be reckoned with.

Most don't, hence her low kill rates.

And for that matter, anyone who takes time to get really good at any given killer is going to be a tough cookie. I'm devotion 9. By all means not at the top of the Dbd food chain. A quick hypothetical? Would you rather face my Nurse...

    Or Otz's Trapper?

    Lynxi's Twins?

    Coconut or Maxx's Huntresses?

    Michis Hag?

    CMWinters Pig?

    Tru3talents Wraith?

The list goes on man yes some gamers devote enough time to their main to appear unstoppable but you've only to watch their streams or vods to see THEY LOSE GAMES AS WELL. This idea of the unbeatable OP killer, in the end, is survivor main salt.

    Nothing more.

Nurse's stats are more than a year old and we both know that being a free character they're extremely skewed by people who just bought the game.

I'd be more interested to see a graph that shows kill rates per MMR bracket, something like the plots they published before the last mid chapter patch, but they don't seem to be willing to share said stats for some reason (not only nurses tbh, I'd like to see those plots for all killers)

I don't get your point about those streamers. My swf and I have been against some of those people multiple times, and games were fairly balanced and I think we only lost and brutally won one time each (other times, it was stuff like 1/2/3 well played deaths). Luckily for me, I never went against some others of the streamers you mentioned, because they're people that, to sugarcoat it, I genuinely dislike, and I'm not sure how they haven't been banned yet from literally every platform.

  • You really described the new meta with the best wording: "war of attrition"

I'm not a fan of stacked slowdowns in general, so I wouldn't risk saying "old meta was better/more fun", but this new one definitely isn't fun at all

  • @FriendlyKiller said:

    You're a spicy one.

Of course your whole argument falls apart in the face of the fact your "easy to pick up and oppressive" killer has the lowest kill rates in the game, and has for some time.

If she's so easy to play why do you suppose that's the case? And if your suggesting her bugfixes justify another nerf I honestly don't know what to say. Should they put the bugs back?

Same case as dead hard: once finally bugfixed to work as intended, it was finally clear to everyone how broken that perk was, and it got reworked. Now it is still a strong perk, but requires some actual skill input from the player to be used -unless cheated of course.

Which is why I also don’t expect people to just accept my claims. And why I ask for evidence from others. If you aren’t willing to discuss with people, then there’s no reason for anyone to believe what you claim unless you give irrefutable evidence.

The evidence is simple: literally no other killer power that can hit through walls has the ability to one shot. Every killer who has the ability to one shot with their power, is stopped by colliding mechanics and needs to work around them. Even one of Billy's best add-ons removes the one shot from the chainsaw when sprinting through a pallet, and regardless of Billy's general strength as a killer, lopro chains being like this are balanced and fine

Being able to ignore those mechanics AND one shot is not healthy, and it kinda blows my mind that someone like you who keeps talking about balance and healthiness doesn't see how this is substantially neither of them

  • @FriendlyKiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3195532#Comment_3195532

There was. After Nurse's first nerf when the blink charge mechanic was introduced survivors stopped complaining about her and piled on Spirit instead. Every other post on the forum.

    Spirit OP.

    Spirit unfun.

Prominent streamers went on campaigns about how she had "no counterplay"

Then she got nerfed and survivors started saying the exact same things about Deathslinger.

This is literally the same post-nerf Nurse everyone thought was just fine when she had to wait for her blinks to recharge.

And if survivors get what they want and Nurse gets nerfed(again), every survivor in the fog will seamlessly switch over to spam posting about Blight.

Then back to Spirit? Pig? I dunno like I said I don't pay it any attention anymore.

Yes and no. Up until a couple of months ago she was riddled with bugs that made her gameplay a lot more difficult and frustrating. Other than the blink bug which made her unplayable for multiple seconds, there were tons of blink dead zones, hills were extremely buggy to blink through resulting in tons of dead blinks for no apparent reason, and pallets were actually a good counterplay to her because she would be forced into fatigue AFTER the stun (a bug). A lot of oppressive perk combinations available now didn't exist (except ruin undying pop corrupt which ultimately was the strongest build on most killers anyway, not just her) - no starstruck, deadlock, or/DMS, and so on. That's the scenario where otz did his 50 streak too, and it was addonless (by the way, i play her mostly addonless too). The recent recoding they did to her fixed all of her bugs, which made her extremely easy to pick up, and ultimately too rewarding for the little effort that she actually takes right now. At this point the ultimate question is: should she be easy to pick up but be less oppressive, or should she be somehow reverted to being an actually difficult killer to play, but rewarding? Because easy and rewarding is not a balanced option.

Yesterday you talked to me and invited me to play her "at iri ranks". Other than the fact that "iri ranks" makes absolutely no sense and anyone with 10hrs in game knows that, stats at hand I played more nurse than most people in this forum (except, ironically, sluzzy) so I know what I'm talking about, most likely i know it better than you too.

Yes, I agree that range and 3-blink should be reworked entirely. I want evidence the basekit or recharge or whatever else is not fine.

    @SuzuKR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3195640#Comment_3195640

Absurdly huge or tiny maps is an issue that needs to be addressed regardless. And range add-ons are fundamentally problematic design because one of the methods of counterplay to Nurse is dancing near her edge range to make her have to either blink short and fatigue, or risk overshooting. The extra distance Nurse can cross much faster than the survivor while using range add-ones shuts that down.

I wish I had access to BHVR’s interactive data graphs, but my claims are ones without statistical proof, I’ll admit.

You literally just admitted that you speak without evidence too. We disagree on a lot of stuff but ultimately we agree that range and 3 blinks are unhealthy and unbalanced. I said multiple times that personally I believe that recharge should be toned down a little bit too, because she IS a lot easier now after the bugfixes, and exposed should be obliterated (I'm not gonna discuss that, it's stupidly broken, period). They should also add back the double stuns with pallets, because now more than ever a skilled play on a pallet is literally useless.

  • No, penalties don't need to be harsher. Literally all patches since the beginning of the year have penalized playing survivor more and more, making playing killer stupidly easy while not penalizing at all the very valid tactics of tunneling someone out of the game. This along with the garbage matchmaking system they implemented (and the explanations given by peanits in some thread a couple of days ago were absolutely embarrassing) destroyed playing solo/duo

Ultimately this game is not competitive so it should be played for fun. Killers right now are the agents that have the most control of how fun a match will be, so if someone is having a bad time it's perfectly reasonable for them to want to leave.l, especially when way too many killers are playing "efficiently"

I want to add: how is it ok for a killer to tunnel someone out to make the game a 3v1 not a problem, but when a survivor does this by himself then it's bad?

  • @SuzuKR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3194552#Comment_3194552

Wow, it's almost like camping and tunneling are strategies the devs have explicitly acknowledged and have repeatedly stated they balance the game around, and the other is refusing to play entirely.

Trying to unhook yourself is legitimate too, and being sacrificed after missing two skillchecks in a row is an intended mechanic, which was specifically added by the devs when people complained that not being able to leave a game by letting go of spacebar would not work anymore with the new skillcheck system

  • Pinhead

I won the dlc from a giveaway of one of my favorite streamers, so I kinda feel bad not playing him, but his main power somehow short-circuits my brain and I'm always confused when I "teleport back" after using the chains

  • Not gonna lie, the "hide other players names" option was one of the most beneficial things ever added for me. It helps me with "perfomance anxiety" while playing killer. I played against a streamer with 150+ viewers without knowing, prior to this patch i would've instantly dodged or played like ass

  • But remember, if someone is cheating in your game, in order to get them banned, flag the user, file a detailed report, take screenshots, have video evidence, upload it on YouTube, contact an investigator, share the news to the media, open a crowdfunding, call your prime minister, channel the energies of the Sun and the Moon, dedicate a ritual dance to your gods, and only then you can hit send and be done with their awful report system (until you find the next cheater in 4 games). Maybe in three weeks BHVR's customers support will reply

  • Well the killer was a trickster, I'm pretty sure those survivors were glad to get out of the game that fast

  • @Mooks said:

I guess some licensed killers are unlikely to get unique chase music (Freddy for example, also Bubba and Pig, I feel like we should have gotten their chase music already as we got other stuff changed/added for them..)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3191128#Comment_3191128

But… Billy already doesn’t have the original anymore…

(I mean, fair enough, he got so rare that you can easily forget about him..)

    I-

    Sorry Billy </3

  • I think that Wraith and Billy (and nurse maybe?) could keep the original too, or perhaps they could get a simple remix that maintains the original tone.

I would love for other killer to get their own chase music. Seeing the awesome work BHVRs composers did with a lot of killer's themes, I believe they could come up with some awesome and fitting music for killers like Plague and Hag

  • 7 out of 10 of the most used killer perks are slowdown perks, and I bet other strong ones such as DMS, Eruption and Deadlock are up there among the most used too

So much of the meta shift

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3189391#Comment_3189391

Nope, it should be next week. If they won't change the date ofcourse. They are usually releasing new stuffs at 3 week intervals.

Oh, I was pretty sure there was a one week gap between the second bugfix patch and the next ptb, my bad

  • I'm more interested about the fact that 7 out of 10 of the most popular killer perks are unsurprisingly slowdown perks

And here I am wondering yet again, wasn't the whole perk overhaul supposed to be a meta shift? The only surprising thing is not seeing up there Deadlock, DMS and Eruption

The only thing they were able to achieve was drastically reducing the use of BBQ and DH

  • There's four distinct things that I really want to see, but I'm pretty sure none will be there

Anyway, there are still 2 weeks to wait, right?

  • Yeah, i think it would be a good buff. The previous one didn't keep the perk from being useless other than for selfish plays

  • If you unhook under the killer's nose, and they aren't able to get the trade, that's on the killer

  • Should the match be over if all 4 survivors are alive and all 5 gens are done?

  • I'm so sure you run into survivors with 4BNPs more often than I run in killers with 4 slowdown perks. I'd almost say 4BNP is the norm

    /s

  • I love you, whoever you are. Please, more horny pyramid head threads

  • I've definitely seen her a lot more lately than before. I also play her quite a bit, since I always found her fun

I tried doing with her the 6 hooks while using only Stridor and man does that perk throw me off so much though. Always hated Stridor spirit, as and vs (and pre nerf it was definitely one of the most unfair things in the game)

  • Killers are quitting so much that even in the evening the matchmaking incentive favors survivors

  • You can run double iri so you still have 2 blinks but move faster than survivors

Land the blink, fatigue, catch up, m1

  • @Brokenbones said:

I think most Nurse players could be beaten if people had a bit more coordination and a bit more grit (as in not giving up if they get downed quickly). I know Starstruck Nurse isn't fun for anyone but the Nurse but it's not unbeatable

My stance on Nurse has shifted since Range addons aren't OP anymore. I still think she's got issues that need addressing but for the most part she's manageable by competent survivors. (not saying I'm competent mind, but I can deal with Nurse, most of the time)

The question is what do we do with casual people who don't play as much as you or I.

You're wrong though, range addons are still OP. The speed to the blink was just the icing, but their problem was the fact that they remove entirely one of her most important counterplays: distance.

  • @SuzuKR said:

Nurse doesn't need a change. I would be interested to see your data.

Range add-ons and 3 blink add-on do need a change. But those are the only problematic aspects of Nurse.

YouTube videos are going to show wins. That's a given.

Ragequitting and ruining it for your teammates is not the way to go.

Outside of her initial two batch of deserved nerfs, devs have virtually never said she is an issue, nor that she needs or is planned to receive changes. In comparison, basically every single other problematic part of DBD has been addressed either as a plan or by action. For instance, old DS? Mentioned it will need a change and then got a change. Mori being 1-hook? Addressed and changed. Old keys and hatch? Addressed and changed.

Her main two issues, but not the only ones. Being able to one shot because her attack is not considered special is another issue, starstruck consistently proving this (hey, """"certain"""" killers might have gotten too much use out of AA ;)) ) and I honestly wouldn't mind if the double stun at pallets would come back (labeled as a solved bug) -> would make stunning her mid blink actually rewarding

  • I can imagine so many fanfictions between them and Plague together

I would rather face 3 Nurses in a row than a single Twins.

God awful Killer design with an extremely boring (and relatively easy to use) power that heavily promotes extremely boring / toxic playstyles such as hard slugging or camping.

And probaply the worst part about them: they had potential - a lot of potential - but BHVR didn't really seem to know where to go with it, so now we have whatever that mess of a character is. Very similar to Trickster in this regard.
