As of right now every generator regression perk has been nerfed really hard, while on the same time we dont only have mutch higher gen speeds but also hook sabotages are far easyer to do now.

Often 2 gens get done before even the first hook, forcing killers into strategys that noone likes. There needs to be more time added to generators to give killers a little more time to breath.

killers load into matches knowing full well they will play in a scummy manner so that's irrelevant

pop and pain res got nerfed like 5% each and are still popular alone or while being ran together

hook sabos are easier, sure, yet I don't encounter any more games now with sabo teammates than I did pre sabo buff; in other words, it is still a rare sighting for 1 teammate or a group to come with sabo builds . If they do, well, we prob already lost since they'll just be spectating every chase hoping for a save and most are dumb enough to get spotted, get hit and still linger around leading to 2 people downed now

gens fly fastest during the start of the match. If you're bringing pain res (we know you are) and aren't able to get value before 2 gens fly then that's a you problem

  • please no more totems or chests

Reminder that he cant teleport if cant see you

easier said than done, there are only so many times in a chase you can break LOS and that don't involve an action that negates your distance (crouching), staying still behind an object). Sometimes, the tiles around you are just not conducive to losing LOS and there's nothing to do but hold W which he then just spams teleport

pre drop? teleport and break in overclock

greed the pallet? teleport and at best he breaks the pallet in overclock once dropped or you eventually drop and he times the teleport right so it breaks anyway

use emp? just shoot anywhere ahead of you or around you and tag you again. Map is usually ridden with pods anyway so it really doesn't matter

maybe with a coordinated team it's easier, in solo q simply using an emp is not the savior it's made out to be

would not call him OP but the spam teleport play style is just stupid and unfortunately that's mostly the way he's played

Skull Merchant holding players hostage for an hour wasn't very common, but it got nuked because of how crap it was to deal with.

old SM games lasting that long were not common, SMs holding the 3 gen was very common except most of us aren't comp swfs so we were dying, DCing or killing ourselves on hook

  • people hiding? sure

people hiding for over half an hour?

    come on…

  • we don't need a mechanic for something that rarely happens

most people don't want to waste their time doing this to spite the killer or just to get hatch instead of the other guy. Better ways to spend their time for most

  • yeah

each match is either tunnel, camp, pain res + pop or teammates who just play in the most brain dead way. Fun matches are not rare but matches where it's not the same old ######### are. It's a compounding problem that wears you down match after match so that going next is just the default option

biggest issue is just teammates. My last match I ran killer for 4 gens, got hooked and teammate spun in circles 2m from hook (after being afk at the start) and then ran away when the killer came. I just killed myself on hook as it was clear the other 2 weren't saving me and this guy was just an #########; stuff like this is frustrating because it happens so often where your teammates choose to do the worst thing at the worst time that you're just like ..???

The mode has trashed queue times all this month. Both sides.

It needs to leave after this extension. They need to work on it more. It's fun… for a bit. But it's not enough right now.

    yep

fun for a bit but after a few games I'm ready to take my chances in solo q

appeal wears off and personally it's due to a mix of easy games and the repetitive nature of the mode a la huntress + trapper every game or just flat out escaping almost every game. Does not feel very engaging on a micro level imo

  • I bring maps often in solo cause after a while playing crap like Hawkins, swamp or red forest gets old. Sometimes I just want to have a semi decent match

You still can't do anything against worst kind of users, the one who takes four of offering as a SWF

is this really happening that often….

  • solo q sucks

    it is what it is

  • it's $5 man c'mon

    it's a luxury not a necessity

want the killer? buy it. don't want to spend the money? don't buy it

  • wasn't cross turned off recently for windows because the patch was delayed?

I thought I read something like that

  • meh

it’s not that simple, there’s a version of this where a license doesn’t perform as expected and the minimum guarantees owed to the licensor are too high

granted, we’ll never know the specifics of each license but just saying it’s not as simple as secure a license and profit

Hey, that's awesome - Tableau users unite!

Yeah, exactly the same for me.
It actually took me a year to finally start learning this thing after putting it on the back burner thinking it would be overly complicated. But like you said, once you get started, it's actually pretty intuitive.

I say that but I still struggle with comprehending how to do some calculated fields to get the results I want.
An example is the Team Stats page where I just typed out static print with the best and worst killer duos and maps, when in reality I wanted to make it a dynamic field that changed when you selected certain maps and/or killers. But I was having trouble figuring out how to implement win and escape rates to that field, and somehow combine my killer 1 and killer 2 columns. I can do it in Excel or SQL, but I figured I'd just take a short cut, type it in, and make it a challenge to figure out how to do later.

Anyway I'm rambling - happy you liked it! Thanks for checking it out <3

try using parameters; they're meant to represent a data field in place of a constant value

  • this is cool op, fellow Tableau user here

I remember being so put off by it initially because it seemed so complicated but once I started learning it I realized how intuitive and easy it was

  • case in point: first match of the day, 2nd stage first hook while 2 teammates ran around near hook; 1 was actually in chase and the other was playing as if he was injured on death hook (last guy on gen which is fine)

again, not the buff anyone is making it out to be. Majority of games will be unaffected because solo q teammates only know how to optimize inefficiency and poor decision making

  • 2v8 was fun but it got stale fairly quickly

the gameplay loop is too repetitive since there is no variety in perks or add ons and at this point all you see is huntress & trapper each match

I almost always escape each match which adds to the staleness, not by skill either but just by the sheer fact that we'll always power through all the gens and probably lose like 1 or 2 players in the process

Not us vs them its criticism to uneven buffs

Also not us vs them if its 3 either btw learn us vs them

not every single patch needs to have an even number of buffs/nerfs to both roles

    not that deep

+ be serious, most are buffs to fun perks that will impact the survivor power dynamic very little. I promise deception having a smaller cooldown will not lose you your match

  • @Backmon said:

The last 4 patches was only nerfs for killers. What are you talking about?

not that I agree with this silly thread but wasn't the last patch the one w/ buffs to some gen kick perks?

  • our fellow solo q randoms will now crouch behind a rock for an extra 10 seconds

  • tbh this is not just a 2v8 mechanic, this is just dbd

  • this does not make solo q miserable

people kill themselves on hook because solo q is more often than not just that miserable

  • tbh

I don't think there's been any new perk for the last few chapters that have ever been a staple in any of my builds

bardic is the only recent one I can think of that I was like yeah it works in my gen build

we have too many niche perks, outright useless perks, perks w/ XYZ activation, etc

what can you do tho, constant cycle of new chapters, at some point the good ideas will be less and less

  • Otzdarva has good videos to learn the basics like tiles, perks, builds, etc; very well rounded resource to learn a bit of everything

personally, I watch noci, ayrun, puffalope, hens, skermz, etc. Some of these are just fun to watch and some are good players. Overall, you're just trying to understand their thinking and decision making but not mimic their play style (noci is good and has good YouTube guides on very specific aspects of the game)

take chases and learn from them, they're not the only part of the game but being good in a chase will positively ripple to the macro of the game. Do learn the macro and micro components of the game, learn from your teammates, learn from your mistakes, etc

you'll die, lose games, etc but playing will be your best learning tool

  • imo those matches are too chaotic to have someone who can insta-down and zip through the maps

you're bound to catch people out of place and get easy downs

  • tbh I escaped all but 1 out of like 10 ish games today

it's really easy to escape as survivor as gens get hammered, injuries mean nothing cause you're bound to get double healed, just 1 survivor looping a killer is gg for the killer side

granted, the randoms still need to do gens but at least in my games that was never an issue

  • I just lost access to my psn account only to find out I can never resync again?????

    great

  • chaos; mostly 2 v 1 by the killers but it's not a serious game mode so it is what it is

with that said, the cage mechanic was nice and I don't get why we can't do this with hooks to deter that play style

  • @Rogue11 said:

Hope it gets nerfed soon. For a "training wheels" perk, it's insanely high pick rate must mean a massive portion of the playerbase for this 8 year old game are new players!

Smashing the skill gap between mediocre and good survivors isn't something desirable. It's part of what makes mmr matchmaking a nightmare for solo queue. And it further removes skill expression from the game.

could just as likely mean that majority of the players play solo and find this perk useful

  • woo does not make you any better at the game, you just know where resources are but it's irrelevant if your game sense is lacking and you aimlessly drop pallets to prolong your down

if you are a bad player, you'll just waste resources for the rest of us

if you're good, you're probably using it just to know what resources the other 3 randoms have wasted. Nothing worse than being in a chase and going to a tile just to find out there is no pallet there

I use it in solo q, I drop it when playing with my friends because we just call out what has been dropped

No matter what button you put it on, closets and windows have the same action buttom, duh! Do you even play the game?
And since Switch have less buttons there's only one button for multiple actions.

I've never tried to rebind so didn't occur to me relax

  • this is a funny bug I don't mind looping while looking like a complete idiot heh…

  • he was never good unless you were a bad killer and needed his brain dead play style to get kills

  • yeah this is pretty stupid that you basically have to rebind your controller to avoid which is not a legit solution

This is how you know the system is completely useless.

There's no 'i have to consider this every game' or 'this system seems over tuned' or even 'is this the right solution' from people who want to defend it's current state.

There's literally zero discussion allowed about the AFC system. Because it's so easy to circumvent, or outright ignore as the killer, people don't even try to give reasons, all we get is this identical, parroted, and pedantic response to literally every single post that tries to talk about how the system does not appear to do anything functional.

well no, because it’s performing the function that it was designed to: punish the most egregious form of camping, aka face camping

sure, some killers are still viable for proxy camping like deathslinger, t3 Myers, Billy, etc but for the most part, in my games, the system has given me better odds because no longer can someone effortlessly stand directly in front of me and ensure I die; worst case, I can self unhook at the last minute and waste his time

  • welcome to solo queue, stay a while, it's fun I swear

  • it's anti-face camp, not anti-camp

  • I still can’t believe the forgotten ruins tile

First time I saw it from a distance and ran to it during chase for safety only to get closer and realize I was dead and my immediate thought was how tf this this tile make it into the game, is it a meme thing???

  • lmao

how does this stuff continue to make it to live servers; between the 2 gens popping issue, the endurance off hook and now this, just how

  • @Langweilig said:

The only reason why it could fail in my opinion, that no survivors would want to que in. I personally think it will be very frustrating to get insta downed by two killers.

killers already play douchey in regular dbd and even in the LTMs, can't imagine now having TWO people playing like this; don't even think the lack of comms will prevent random killer teammates from doing a 2v1

cool concept but it might just end up another gimmick mode like my little oni; fun for a few games and then it gets stale so back to pubs

  • that was not good, the music and game footage used just seemed very low budget and cheesy

  • @Spirit_IsTheBest said:

People are aways saying "play around it". But provide zero explanation on how to, if your going to defend the perk, at least provide a reasonable comment on how.

I'll do it, the way I play around it is at the very start of the match, drop your item to check if the killer has it, if so, immediately put your item in the corner, since it's the start of the match this is the best time to do this, then go do generators, if there are other items on the ground, move them, even if the teammates needs the item, it's better off being in the corner considering the wallhacks can really hurt the team.

Only use the item when the killer is focused on other stuff, like chases, hooking, and defending generators, plus the right way to distract the killer is to lure him with the aura reading, take your item, and move to a safe space, if the killer comes to you, waste his time as much as possible. If the killer doesn't come, use your item to heal or do other generators. I personally think the perk is fine, but I do understand the frustration, if it were to get changed, it would need to get fully reworked, one it's useless without Franklins, and nerfing it would make it rather niche.

I run perks like COH, and other generator perks like Prove Thyself instead of items sometimes, can be quite nice if the killer is running Weave + Franklins since he has less items to gain his wallhacks from.

Let me know if you want more tips!

this seems high effort to counter the perk imo

best case scenario you spawn edge map and drop your item asap but chances are that when you actually need your item you'll be far from where it is and it's just more time wasted retrieving the item. Plus, you may end up bumping into the killer and dropping your item anyway (franklin's) or he just sees your aura edge map and beelines it to you?

I do get that it's only powerful w/ franklin's but in solo q most will end up dropping their items after a hit near gen, unbeknownst to you, and you'll find yourself getting aura read later; sure, pick the item up and take it edge map but once again, more time pulled from objectives

these 2 perk slots taken up almost guarantee the other 2 will be pop and pain res which are already a painfully boring combo to play against

  • no idea why there isn't an option to spend points more quickly; even the addition of the middle button is lackluster

  • from my experience, console killers BM the most lol and get really toxic if they win the match

  • don't think I ever saw any % wording on that perk but 150% would be insane

  • don't care one way or the other. If I play killer, I probably would not bring a mori offering instead of BP but as a survivor I'm not bothered by a killer bringing it; not really sure why it should bother me?

there are better ways to BM but a mori has never registered to me as BM'ing

  • just got tunneled 3 games in a row, as in the killers bolted back to hook and chased me down and took me out the game first. So yes, yes I was tunneled!

  • the fact we still can't get action against players like the spirit or SM in my recent matches who just bled me out while standing over me because apparently we can't prove their intent and so it must be thoughtful strategy on their part
