Seriously, this needs to be addressed soon. I just got cucked 180k BP because of it. It happens like every other 4-5 games and I've definitely lost over 1M BP because of it. What happens is you typically play a full match, and then it pops up and basically resets you back to before you played that game and screws you out of BP. In my case, I lost out on 125K from a game and then my Rift challenge BP. It needs to be looked at.
Hey, speak of the devil! One game later I get cucked again :)
2 games played today, 200k+ BP earned, but taken away right after. Sick.

Did you play the witcher? It has monsters and stuff, and there are some scary scenes in the game.
Also, pubg was never more popular than Fortniter, if that was true, the recorst would be beaten by pubg and not fortnite.
And a game is clearly better and more popular than other when more people play it and doesn't have to make a new version as a separated game instead of updating it.
I don't know why you just like to pull information out of your ass, but here's some actual statistical information on PUBG's & Fortnites player bases at the time:
PUBG was a more popular game than Fortnite for a decent portion of 2017. You're saying it never was more popular, when it actually was. Despite it being a worse game, it was still at a point more popular than Fortnite. Exactly why popularity does not equal a better game.

Wrong. More players=better game than others. Better game=Devs decided right.
You left me that give me 3 names without comparing them to other exactly games, but see by yourself how dbd is still played by a huge amount of people, why others, as COD or now Overwatch are making new separate games with the same name. In the case of COD, people leave the last game and buy the new one, making all of them cancelled.
More players absolutely does not mean a better game. Because PUBG was more popular than Fortnite, was it a better game? ABSOLUTELY NOT. The game was insanely bug ridden, while Fortnite was far more polished.
Secondly, DBD is not played by a huge amount of people like CoD is. The reason why games like CoD and Overwatch make new games under the same name is not because they have to, but because they WANT to. It is far more profitable to reskin, add a few things here and there and sell it as a new game for far more profit. Pushing out people and almost forcing them to buy a new game is because it is a smart decision profit wise.
6/10 are shooters, GTA can very much be considered a shooter as well. None of the games in the top 10 are horror.

Yes I can perfectly compare them both. Again, one thing(the genre) doesn't deny the rest of things. They are both videogames that can be improved in the same way. A game of guns van be updated with the same schedule as a game of cars, just one example.
Yes, the genre absolutely makes a difference. More players = more revenue. Some genres have more players than others, and typically, horror games don't have a large playerbase. This, thankfully was one of the standouts.
Name 3 horror games that are even close to being as big as 3 of the most well known gun games. Like I said, genre has an undeniable effect on how well a game can sell.

They said there is a bug in matchmaking, but they didn't say how much it actually affects the queue times.
If the bug adds 1 or even 2 minutes in queues that last 10 minutes anyway, is the bug really the problem?
Survivor queues were instant for me up until this chapter. Like I said, the queues switch back and forth. Some patches its killer queues, others its survivor queues. I remember at the GhostFace patch killer queues were awful.
It isn't a lack of any side, it's just the matchmaking itself.

Again, fortnite has more resources because they got more money doing the good decisitions. Take in mind 3 years ago fortnite was almost cancelled
And I think BHVR is making relatively good decisions to earn money. But, it doesn't help when everyone criticizes anything they do that is used to make that money. This type of game isn't very familiar to users, like gun games are. Precisely the reason why gun games are extremely popular games. That's why you can't compare the two, DBD will likely have a relatively large but loyal playerbase, but will not blow up like Fortnite did. You're trying to pit two different genres of games against each other.

New mechanics gets introduced not with characters. They added for water everything for example. They made it possible to swim, fishing and use vehicles there which can shoot. Just for the water on this update, as including other many functions.
Coding swimming and driving is far easier than coding a power like the Oni's. Not to mention, like someone said above, they have more resources to push out these updates and changes far faster than DBD.

the past year on PS4 it has always been like this: instant queues for killers, 5 to 15 minutes as survivor (with a lot of lobby dodging by the killer, so add again 5-15 minutes every time..) - that's at red ranks both sides by the way. Right now I basically play only killer because of this.
A year and a half ago instead I remember I had a lot of trouble finding matches as killer, and when I did I was almost invariably against Japanese people (I'm in South Europe) O_O.
In any case, just let us see stats with the average number of survivors and killers at every rank divided by geographical area and we'll finally understand where the truth stands: if the ratio is close to 4:1, or even lower, then there's definitely a bug, but then again, what are they waiting for to fix it?
I'm fairly certain they have already addressed the issue to be a bug that they are currently fixing.

Every three months there is a big update which adds content of everything: battlepass, events, gamemodes, skins, weapons, funtions,... Even if you were right in that, it doesn't make the rest of my pist useless.
None of these are as prone to bugs as making a character and introducing entirely new mechanics into the game. Like I said, far more variables in DBD. A battle pass is just a new assortments of items, events are short lived, guns aren't harder to program because it is a gun game, a shared and consistent mechanic throughout the game, and skins aren't really ever buggy considering they're just small cosmetic changes.
-
@Angelicus23 said:
You can all blame on me down there on the comments but you can't ignore these facts.
Fortnite updates the game every week with new content or bug fixes. Dbd release updates every 2 months with new payable content and even if there are bug fixes, new bugs appear.
The battlepass provides you free v-bucks which means you don't have to pay anything and you can buy things as if you paid. DbD doesn't provide free auric cells (except in mobile)
The battlepass is meant to be finished fast and easily, because you can end gaining more v-bucks than you had before after you completed it. Also, the challenges are very easy and you can actually do a lot of them in one singke match. In DbD you have to do one single challenge per match, in most of the cases you have to ignore the objectives and some are extremely difficult. Also the rift has to be compulsory paid with real money and you just can end with the same or less money than before, last if you're a casual player.
Fortnite always provide free content for everyone: new weapons, new events, skins, v-bucks, film premieres,... But in DbD there hasn't been any free content since huntress' DLC in 2017.
Whenever there is an exploitable bug in Fortnite, their devs disable that weapon or function instantly. In DbD you can get banned.
In Fortnite there is full crossplay and crossave for all the platforms. In DbD it took 3 years and a half to start that function as a test for actually the same platform.
In Fortnite you can get refund of the shop items. In DbD you can't.
After mobile version got released, both games did a function for deaf people. In Fortnite they ended enabling it on all the platforms. In DbD, no.
Fortnite has settings for colorblind people since beta because it is a simple setting. In DbD, no. And for this thing I want to give a shout out to that reddit guy who uploads a new meme every week asking for colorblind help because he loves the game as a lot of people like him with the same problem and his suggestion is getting ignored.
Fortnite is fully free. DbD is not, and the DLCs costs 5 times the base game (over 100€)
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the rest of the post is getting delayed but will end up cancelled.
Fortnite has far less variables in their game, making it much easier to polish. Also, they're not implementing very large game changes every 3 months. You can't compare Fortnite to DBD.

Why is it a matchmaking issue?
Lack of killers in their own rank, so red and purple survivors get matched with green killers.
I repeat: Lack. Of. Killers. !!!
Why?
Because playing killer against SWF who know what they are doing, on console, is hopeless. And it's SWF 90% of the time on console, again, this is very different from PC matchmaking. Solo survivors in purple/red ranks are a rare sight on console and it's like nobody seems to realize this.
I deranked to 15 and finally have enjoyable, evenly matched matches again. Against rank 8-12 survivors.
No killers, no games for anyone. This issue needs to be addressed.
Because everytime there is a lack of games it has always been a matchmaking issue. Before this update, survivors had the better queue times but killers had terrible queues. Was it because of a lack of survivors? No. It's the terrible matchmaking.
It's a back and fourth issue. One update its killers, the next its survivors and so forth. Killer is not as bad as solo queue.
-
@Tr0g said:
This rank matchup is literally every game for me on PS4, and yes this was a 4-man SWF group toying with me (I can't remember the last game against solo survivors):
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/748/7IJ9W7VGLFXZ.png
There is 100% a shortage of killers, hence why survivor queue times at all ranks are long and killer queue times, after rank 16, are always instant. All day long even outside of peak times this is the case. I don't understand why you'd argue with that. It's not a MM bug it's just basic math, you need 1 killer for every 4 survivors and right now that isn't the case, hence survivors have to wait longer.
If it was a bug, there would also be killers queuing for a long time. But there aren't.
It's a matchmaking issue. Killer isn't that difficult on console if you know what you're doing imo. I walk out of so many games with a 3k-4k. Usually when I get a 1k-2k, it's due to terrible lag, me just making many mistakes, or getting bad luck in general. I find that on console the game is pretty enjoyable overall as a killer.

I am sure your 3000 hour cross-hair using huntress mains will tell you it's hard to throw cross maps with BBQ wallhacks but having a hard counter to pallet looping in this game makes it easy mode. There is a reason everyone plays her.
Yes, because cross maps are so easy. Funny how something you consider to not be difficult is pretty rare due to it being so easily countered. Secondly you can loop a Huntress. Yes, it is difficult. But there are so many objects and LOS blockers on many of the maps. Huntress gets absolutely ######### by maps like Coldwind. Also, are you actually complaining about BBQ? A perk that is entirely counter able?
Huntress is one of the few killers in this game that does take a good amount of skill to use.

So I guess console just doesn't have the power to run dbd's awesome graphics? And yeah, there's no WAY they could add sensitivity adjustments, and add the ability to use a mouse and keyboard, that's just CRAZY! And no console gamer could keep up with a person on PC. I guess all those people I play and crush in rocket league don't count, right? I know it's a different game, so calm down and put your claws away. But, it operates perfectly fine at a very high frame rate, and I'm sure their graphics ain't as great as mighty DBD, but I never have frame drop when I'm zooming around chasing a ball non-stoo. But, I guess your right. It's impossible, right? 🤷♂️🤡
Console DBD is a significant step down from PC DBD. Like it or not, you can't compare Rocket League to DBD in any way. They're 2 games with entirely different situations and variables to account for. You don't need physical proof to realize that a massive sensitivity limit and almost 2x less framerate puts you at a HUGE disadvantage.

The game can't even reach up to 30FPS on console consistently. It hovers more so around 20-25. Also, there is a massive sensitivity disparity on console. Right now, these issues would put console players at an insane disadvantage verse PC players.

I'm killer main who is very tired for how unenjoyable killer side now is.
If the Survivors are so organised, there is no chance to sacrifice even one survivor. Because, there are so many pallets and very strong windows called the God-loop. Plus, even if I tried so hard and finally hook one survivor, then 2 or 3 gens would be done immediately.
I don't think the balance of this game is survivor sided, but the almost every maps, except the Lery's, the Game and the Hawkins, are so survivor sided. (e.g. Blood Lodge, The Pale Rose, Disturbed Ward, The Thompson House, etc...)
So the killers don't need buff. PLEASE nerf the maps.
In a sense I really agree with you. Map design I feel is the sole culprit of balance problems in this game. Although, some killers still do need buffs, even with map changes. Even with map changes a killer like Bubba would still have a relatively weak power, so I feel like he would be one of the killers still in need of a buff.

I've seen a lot of people talking about T-bagging in posts so I was just curious. Perhaps I really am alone in this, but like... If I "T-bag" in a match in DBD, I'm never intending it to actually be T-bagging. It's more like I'm trying to communicate through strange crouching Morse code. Like in the beginning we all do it, I see it as a strange way of saying hello. I also tend to crouch spam after being healed or someone gives me an item as a way of saying thank you lol.
I attempt the Morse code with killers sometimes but it just doesn't translate as well since they can't do it back lol.

You're right it doesnt, but it's not the skin I'm talking about I mean I guess it is kind of but it's the action.
You ACTIVELY coordinated to use the same exact character and outfit which is a STRONG INDICATOR of the behavior to expect from the team your about face. It's not a guarantee but it's a high probability.
The thing is, I've seen many squads who were the same character, but they're solos. And even if they were and chose to all be the same character, what does it matter? If I play in a 4man and were all baby megs or Dwights, it doesn't mean were trying to be toxic. It can be used strategically, or used for nothing. Like I said, skins don't define a player, and even if they're all the same, it still doesn't change that statement.

Actually I I would bet MONEY that if we polled every killer main and and every survivor main that actually plays killer reasonably often that the MAJOROTY would say if the WHOLE lobby was the same character they'd played as toxic as they could. I say this cause I have literally NEVER seen a whole lobby of ANY 1 character not try and be as toxic as possible. And I've played A LOT of those lonbies
Still doesn't change the fact that a skin or item doesn't define a player.

It's not the act of bringing in an item or outfit that's toxic lol fail. It's indicators of the fact your going to do toxic behavior. But nice strawman 👍
"And 4 claudettes lol if you're telling me your intentions for those games was NOT to be as toxic as possible I'm gonna call you a liar."
You're literally saying that if you're a squad of Claudettes you're lying to say your intentions weren't to be toxic. You're saying that if you're a specific character, your intentions are to be toxic. You're trying correlate something that has nothing to do with the other.
There's this stupid stigma around players because of 2017 DBD, and for some reason, people still hold on to old beliefs that hold nearly no actual value in today's game. Being a specific player in the game or bringing a certain item is not an indicator of anything that has to do with toxicity.
-

It's not you wanting the game to be better that is toxic but you literally said bring 4 keys and 4 tool boxes I legit surprised you didn't say with brand new parts. And 4 claudettes lol if you're telling me your intentions for those games was NOT to be as toxic as possible I'm gonna call you a liar. Why should killers be forced to deal with your toxic playstyles when it's obvious a mile away?
Solution add your items/ switch characters right before the end problem solved your INTENTIONS have been hidden
Ah yes, having a specific outfit, or bringing in items like toolboxes is toxic. That mentality is so dumb. Nothing in this game is toxic but the player. Items and skins are not toxic. Literally survivors can do nothing in this game without it being regarded as toxic.
By your thinking, a killer who brings in very strong perks and addons is toxic too, right?
-

No it isn't. You're wasting gen time and giving free map pressure to the killer. You're hurting your team more by running MoM than you are helping because of how much you have to do to get it.

I think it's a good thing to have in the game. The killer isn't robbed of their points like DCs. If I get badly farmed or if the killer is using a mori, I'll usually just kill myself on hook. It also can be used strategically throughout a game if someone needs to get hatch.
-
@Sluzzy said:
I think survivors have forgotten the Mori has already been heavily nerfed. Originally you could Mori without hooking first. It's funny that now the top viable killers have been nerfed into the ground for the appeasement of survivors that the Mori is suddenly a problem. Could it be that there is no killers are a problem and the Mori is the only thing left? Or, is it because killers are using the Mori more often now in hopes for a fair match?
The top "viable killers" are all still good killers with the right players. Spirit is almost unchanged, Nurse with a good player still has the best chance potential in the game, Oni's flick is being brought back. The top 3 killers will all still be in their same spots as before once Oni's flick comes back.
If you consistently need a mori to play a fair game that's a problem with your skill at killer, not the game.

To clarify, it reduced the up to 180 degree flick to 90 degrees. There is a hard limit at 90 degrees now. You can still turn 90 degrees no problem, even on a controller now. Being able to stack the mouse and keyboard controls to exceed the normal turn rate ratio was not intended.
We made this clear in the known issues when 3.4.0 first came out:
The Oni can rotate faster than intended with the keyboard or joystick during Demon Dash.
Wait. I'm really confused. Because I saw people like Scott saying his flick was now 30 degrees. Even on console it doesn't feel like 90. I've played 4 games with him so far and it feels near identical to before. Or maybe it is and I'm just dumb lol. Thanks for the clarification, it's very much appreciated. :)

There is just one problem with that. The games go by too fast when you play against coordinated swfs. If you buff solo survivors to the same level, there will be much more fast games. So you would have to buff all killers and so much so that it would be a whole new game. Some small nerf to swf would be much more realistic imo.
Yes, but good killers can control those gen speeds. Which is why you buff the weaker killers to Spirit/Billy level to allow them to control gen speeds more.
-
@JohnyBlood said:
I think we can all agree that genrush is only a problem when facing coordinated swf groups with all the tasty perks equipped. There is one easy solution to that. Let's finally nerf SWF! And there are some good options of how to do that, imho. For example - as a swf group you would be allowed to equip just one of each perks. I mean 1 self care per team, one DS, one BT...that would be an elegant nerf to swf (no clickbait) and it would also help against genrush a lot. If you are able to the gens quickly as solo players, kudos to you, you deserve to win..but swf groups are destroying the balance of the game. We all know it. If there was no swf I think that the balance of the game would be pretty good as it is now. But there has to be swf, I agree....so why not at least try to balance it just a little bit? :)
Holy crap, why do people want to punish people for playing with their friends? Just buff solos to SWF level and buff killers accordingly. No nerfs are needed for SWF, buffs are needed for killers and solo.

Why are you using word 'mindless' as a response to my post, like if I used it? Which I did not. And honestly, I have much better record vs EVERY other killer and my team always (well 95%) gets totally wrecked by Billy. And I don't play on high ranks, 10-ish. But okay, I have that experience, you might say you have much different, that's not a real argument. So let me, try to, explain to you why I hate Billy and why I don't consider him balanced at all.
- Charge - M2 and off you go, NO requirements to fulfill, no downside, no nothing, just M2 and run, maybe even hit someone sometimes, but okay, that's not big issue, since getting hit on large distance is rather rare and easy to avoid (unless we add high ping and weird hit boxes but that's not just his issue). But you know, my problem is that there's no downside, no nothing to it, once you stop running you just charge the chainsaw, which is really fast and you can run/kill again. Nurse can blink super fast, but gets fatigued, gives you some chance to run away/hide/something. Legion cannot really kill you with frenzy, unless some addon combos exist which I don't know of. Oni has to collect blood and can charge for limited amount of time - and that's really balanced charge combined with attack. See what I'm talking about?
- One shot downing - not totally bad by itself, Bubba has pretty much the same thing and it's fine... but... I think combining THAT fast movement and insta kills? Come on. This one is tied to the charge, doesn't require anything, doesn't have any downside (no, stopping when hitting an obstacle is not a downside, just in case someone would like to say that), doesn't have cooldown.

No, he's really unfun to play against.

So... basically what? Looping him is his weakness? I mean... isn't good looping good vs almost every other killer? That's hardly a reasonable argument, unless I don't get something. But let me put it this way - I loop a killer X somewhere, use windows, pallets, even lockers, utilize some quick & quiet maybe with dance with me, manage to confuse him, run to the other place. He runs around for a moment and I'm far away. Even if he sees me, I'm far enough away to make this distance even bigger and disappear somewhere, so he won't go after me, because he'll lose even more time. Billy? Just M2 charge to me in 3 seconds and off we go again. Honestly I was never ever able to really lose him, only time I didn't go down was when I played vs some even lower rank Billy and he got too mad after tryharding saw around some corners and just left me.

Difference between 'strong' and 'too strong'.

Amen to that. I don't really like playing vs Freddy too much either, would I like nerf? Maybe, but probably not as much as Billy's.
And I agree with pre-nerf Nurse and Spirit. To all Billy mains, I used to play like almost only Spirit for some time and it was really an 'easy mode'. Needed easy points? Spirit and that's it. But even as, back then, Spirit main I was agreeing with people who wanted to nerf her. She was really insane. But multiplayer game is not just about me and what I want, if there's so much 'whining' about Billy, maybe there's something on the line? If it was one post here and there, okay, but I think it's been going on for a while, if devs said they'll look into it. And then looking at the stats and how well is he performing. It's always annoying when in some game your favorite character is nerfed, but well, there are other people too and what's weak or okay for you maybe not as fine for others. I do much, much better against Spirit than Billy, but I wouldn't say 'she's perfectly balanced, because I do okay', there are other players too.
Short loops and LOS blockers are his weakness. He is very counter able. And yes, looping is the weakness to his saw. But, like I said either side can outplay the other. Billy is nowhere near too strong. His saw doesn't need any requirements because it can be difficult to hit saws verse survivors who look out for curves. But that is what balances him.

No need for toxicity here, please stop.
Good killers camp sometimes, because there are scenarios where camping is the optimal play. Sorry baby survivor.
A good killer doesn't need to consistently camp. Yes, there are times for it, but they're pretty niche.

Alright,I'm thinking of getting him but I don't know if it is worth it since I play on console. Is he as bad as people say he is or is that just blowing him out of proportions. He looks fun as hell and I want to get him, but if he is just gonna be like trying to play nurse and punish me for playing on ps4 I'm not too sure. Anyone on console who played him got any opinions of him?
I have him on PS4 and he's still a pretty alright killer despite his toned down flick. He takes getting used to, but I play a lot of Billy so I figured a lot of stuff out pretty fast. I'd recommend buying him if you have shards.

Maybe, but still I have this mindset, that he looks like combining best of two very powerful mechanics - charge and insta down. And so far I've seen that every killer has strengths and weaknesses and Billy has, for me, really not much weaknesses, not much requirements in order to activate best of him.
But then of course, I might be, and probably am, wrong. But I'd still like to see something that would slow him, 'just a litttle bit' ;)
Billy has weaknesses. The only time he's too strong is with Instasaw. His weakness is survivors who expect curves and stay in areas where the Billy will have a hard time getting a saw. That's what makes Billy so much fun though, even when survivors get to that area, you can usually still utilize curves, and the survivor can try to play around curves. He's such a well designed killer.

Only thing that needs changing with Billy is Carburetor Tuning Guide, and Primer Bulb. Other than that, I don't see any problem with him.

They really don't. Not everything needs to be nerfed. Stop trying to turn the game into a snoozefest. My goodness, this new breed of players from the last year or so never stops whining. The DBD equivalent to millenials lol.
Yeah they do. Anything that ends games very prematurely need to go. They almost give you free wins, just like keys. Keys and Moris are absolutely no fun for the opposing side and make the game a snoozefest.

I play on ps4. Go try oni. There is no flick. It doesn't exist there. And GF smokes either one of them if you know what your doing. GF has zero TR and no red stain, and has the ability to one shot. Run tru3's build and he's almost unstoppable.
I know he doesn't on PS4. Its 45 degreaser instead of 90. I'm speaking in terms of home at his fullest potential, which is on PC. GF is nowhere near better than either of them. His power is to basically take his TR away for a small amount of time. No red stain means nothing because you literally can do that at all times if you can actually moonwalk. His ability to hide his TR at times is the only thing that makes him slightly better than Myers. Other than that, he's just a better Wraith.
Tru3s build works against braindead survivors. Its 5 extra seconds of heal time, and Thanata adds like a solid 8 seconds to gens permitting you're able to actually keep them injured consistently. Even then, that's nothing verse a good team. PGTW is still better than both of those perks combined.
