What do you mean by strawman?
Whether or not you can reach them before they make it around the tile fully depends on how big the tile is... You won't make it around a small loop, but that does not really matter because small loops are not safe anyway, whereas the longer ones allow you to get a hit there.
With those two addons you might even be able to still get a hit despite them running away, and even if not you barely lose distance because of the lower missed attack cooldown.
Well I disagree with that opinion but you are free to believe whatever you want.
I said strawman because you said I judge killers just on console. No. I do play exclusively on console, there are certain killers that are far superior on PC, but that's not where my game knowledge is limited to. It seems like people are always looking for excuses to disregard what I say rather than addressing the actual argument.
Hag doesn't go from C tier to S tier just because she can bind tp to scroll wheel; she can be beat by some following her around all game. Deathslinger's instascope was balanced, because he was never played in tournament, and lost regularly (as 110%s do) at high level since he's a weaker Legion. Freddy was never S tier even at his strongest, because he was literally just an M1. I sure do have disagreeable opinions, and they're here to stay because they're based on experience/easily observable stuff, and have yet to be disproven.

Balancing THIS game around top level also isn't good imo. I mean, it's fair, but 90% will never reach this level and simple quit this game. Something slightly higher than average (and average level is also very low in this game) is fair ground i think.
🤦

Not sure what everyone else is talking about, but he's definitely weaker. He was literally nerfed.

Healing is fine. Plenty of times where someone gets unhooked and you can't physically get back to the hook before they're healed.

You're just seeing big numbers in Background Player and panicking because you don't understand what they mean in context.🤡
Right back at you, 🤡. Gen speed and movement speed are 2 different things. Background Player goes 50% faster than any other exhaustion perk, and with the "nerfed" version, you'll be normal exhaustion perk speed but can use it every 20 seconds. Haven't seen a game's community cheer on power creep this hard since Hearthstone.

You can't improve bad players with QoL sadly. I got second stage on hook in soloq even with kindred and killer on another side of the map several time. You can give rocket launcher to kill killer and they will explode themselves. That's why you should never balance around low level.
I don't mind your suggestion, i'm just saying it won't do anything. People run away from hook for no reason even with WWMI icon near their perks. There is no help for them.Yes! Don't balance around low level! It's so obvious! But what the devs try to do is exactly that, and people support them with bad takes like, "Wow, you want to cater to the top 1% of players?" Yes! It's called balancing the game! Every other game does it that way!

So you are judging them on console? I think Pigs dash is quite good now and both are far from the bottom tier.
No. Strawman. With Chucky's 2% Haste after a Scamper add-on, you still can't get a survivor before they get back to the pallet, unless you use his dash attack (only usable on PC). And that's the part that's getting nerfed, that you'll no longer be able to dash attack after a Scamper, because it won't let you Scamper unless you're already mid-dash attack. Pig's dash attack is still countered by running away as soon as she crouches. 99% of the time, you're better off hitting a survivor with M1 instead of using that attack, because I'll use 2 dash attack/crouch improvement add-ons, and won't be able to hit a survivor unless they screw up their movement. Her strength was in her head traps the few times she could actually get a down, and that's been nerfed like 3-4 times. So I'm confident in my opinions, because they've been formed by years of high level play, even though I sometimes bring up console issues which clearly not enough people respect.

Barely better? It let's you tap survivors to cause AoE regression instead of ever tapping an actual generator. It used to have a 30 second cooldown. This streamlines the killergameplay loop by making you more time efficient
What's kept it balanced over the years is that M2 killers are free to use it, but must make a conscious decision to use power or go for Surge value
I guarantee you that if Surge procs on amy down, it will get hard nerfed. And what does that accomplish?
Surge has been seen as one of the least good regression perks besides like, Oppression, but now it's one of the best simply because it hasn't been whacked by the nerfhammer.
This is assuming that survivors are going down constantly (same fallacy which has gotten all other gen defence perks nerfed), and are getting downed around active gens all the time, which good survivors never do. Let's not balance for casuals.

How are chucky and Pig down there XD Pig especially after the buffs :D:D
Chucky's just 110% and can't use his dash attack on console. And then he's getting a nerf. Pig got a buff to her dash attack which should've happened upon release, and isn't even good enough now, paired with her being nerfed repeatedly in the past couple months. These are nothing killers.

I think if you need to run one or two specific addons in order for that killer to be at all viable, that is a bad killer. And being good at proxy camping is not at all unique to Myers. A lot of killers can do that without needing to build up their power first.
Yeah, killers should be viable with brown add-ons. I've said it for years, but people think that a killer should have to run pink and purple add-ons to be viable, yet cry that those add-ons need to be nerfed.
-
It would be oppressive to a day 1 player who'd lose anyway. 200% is half the speed of a survivors progression, 400%. You can also destroy the perk since it's a hex, so the regression could be 800% and it would be fine. You're just seeing big numbers and panicking because you don't understand what they mean in context.

You do realize that gens don't progress at all, in any way, unless a survivor is actively working on it?
In fact, there's no perk, ability, item, add-on, or mechanic that adds gen progress without a survivor actively touching a gen.
Ruin is literally 'set and forget' and continues to regress automatically without any further attention from the killer. You don't even have to kick the gen.
That's why when you get pushed off a gen, you come back to it. Either you get off hook and go back to it, or the killer chased 1 of the 2 of you off the gen, and whoever didn't get chased taps it/starts working on it again when the killer quickly leaves. The killer can't just stand at a gen and watch it regress, because they need to be occupied with chasing.

Because they didn't deserve to escape. It was a lost match for them. This is the only game in the genre where this is even a discussion.
-
Chucky. Freddy. Pig.
-
It needs to be 200% regression at minimum, and no deactivation on a survivor death. I don't think most people understand that 200% regression is half the speed of survivor progression (400%). They just see a big number and go, "Ah! Too strong!" 🤷♀️

You have frustrations with other survivors not enjoying the game? Let me easily explain why, killers will hate this post because they know most of it is true but I'll be straight to the point with it.
Survivors have had the following butchered:
- Gens take longer to do
- Healing is currently ridiculously too slow so if a killer is fairly close it is virtually impossible to finish one heal if they have even 1 slowdown perk due to how fast killers currently move.
- Maps are ridiculously small or terribly redesigned
- Loops are 50/50 but with killer speed they start becoming useless fast
- survivor perks that would give you some sort of protection like dead hard is now butchered
- Boil over is useless and should be deleted from the game already
- Most PC killers still don't even feel the wiggle when carrying someone
- If you don't have at least one healing perk in moderate+ MMR games you can forget healing most of the time
- Survivors quit when 3 people are injured at the start before a gen is done because of the above healing issue, knowing it's useless to continue.
- Still nothing can be done about stopping a killer hard tunnelling without throwing the game unless your team is good
- Pallets are still 50/50 when they should 60/40 to survivor due to all the killer buffs and outdated pallet drop mechanics (Getting hit when you're in the pallet drop animation and the killer hasn't even finished the animation on their side)
- If a survivor does not bring a toolbox, unless the killer is bad you can forget finishing all the gens in time
- Ridiculously large hitboxes for killers still exist (huntress hatchets hitting you around corners for example)
- Nurse still exists in the game and impossible to beat unless she's awful at the game (killer has a headset which you can't reduce them hearing you at close range like iron will used to
- Unlimited map distance for range killers with miniscule objects in the way to stop them
- Still getting stuck on absolutely everything for no reason (Garbage map optimisation)
- PC players being able to play with filters (Clearly borderline cheating because it gives a lighting/tint advantage but if dev's don't want to address and accept that then so be it)
- Survivor perks are starting to become borderline useless and will continue to be when they continue to get massacred
- Killer movement speed is starting to get out of control when using survivor perks like lithe and they are still directly behind you within 3s (I honestly think this is a bug somewhere because killers should lose bloodlust but they don't, I also had a killer traverse 8 different rooms with me on his shoulders with 0 movement perks and without iron grasp (so clearly something is wrong)
- PTB is on PC so only the PC audience is being taken into consideration when getting feedback (one sided feedback, you do the math)
- Foliage such as bushes have also been nerfed on some maps so it's just chases unless again, the killer is bad as they were in 1 of my games today
- Turning animation for survivors needs to be adjusted and sped up slightly.
- Targeted before the game has even started for being TTV or a high prestige when you're just trying to chill
- Being forced to save teammates but they don't do the same back
- Being left on the hook
Of course you'll have the white knights who main killer saying "git good" or "skill issue" after this post because they win 3 games out of 10+ in the games that they play which suddenly makes them a legendary killer who magically knows all about the game and have secretly been watching you play DBD in your bedroom and magically knows your skill level, then get upset about a survivor tapping a button on the controller at the exit gate like it affects them in real life.
I used to get annoyed at people DC'ing but now? How can you blame them? They're not enjoying the match or the game anymore and you're at the sole mercy of the killer, these matches do tend to be funny at parts if you do decide to stay though, and there are nice killers.. I had one where 2 people DC'd and me and a random were still in the game, I let the Wesker practise chasing me probably for around 7 minutes or so while the random did other stuff and it was still fun. The point with this last para? People do have the right to choose and DBD is still a casual game, adding a harsher penalty than one already in place will hurt the player base.
I could go on forever with this post and this list but you get the gist.
These are just excuses.

Killers have like 30 aura perks and add-ons combined. We can also ask the question, is it fine that killers can slap on 4 aura perks and know where survivors are like 80% of the time? No, that isn't fine.
If survivors bring distortion and you're not bringing aura perks, it's also a wasted perk slot for the survivors the whole round. So your argument doesn't mean anything.
If I get a plague when running a full healing build, I'm basicly perkless the entire round because I can't heal puked on survivors or myself. Shall I have the chance to change my perks ingame when I see a plague? No, that would be ridiculous. So is nerfing distortion because it counters aura reading perks.
Just because the killer knows where the survivors are doesn't mean he gets them.

You do know how much consequence this is to the killer as well though right? Survivor gets unhooked. They have the trifecta let's say for the sake of my arguement. They see their healthy teammate being chased. They get in the killers way. Killer smacks them. (2.7 second weapon swipe) and the survivor runs forward before bodyblocking again. Killer downs them (2.7 seconds again not counting the chase time we could say 10 seconds for brevity). The survivors down now. The killer can choose to go continue their chase with the healthy survivor where they gotta catch back up again first and not to mention any loops that survivor has now gotten to. They can camp the survivor on the floor for the rest of their ds time. (Which means they are buying time for their rest of their team on gens) or the killer can pick them up and get this over with which hits them with a 5 second stun and they gotta re-down the survivor again. All of this is happening while 2 survivors can still be holding that gen button. Who's losing more time here really? Especially if the killer camps the slug the 3rd survivor is now also free to go do some gens. Not every killer can be everywhere at once. Sometimes even the little times matter a lot. (Realized I never mentioned unbreakable but don't really need to since the killer still has to wait out ds anyway to even pick up) and the survivor can do this every unhook if you don't burn the ds on the first pick up. Say they picked themselves up with unbreakable the first time. They'll just do it their next unhook and this time they need a teammate. Congrats.
I'd save your breath with this one. Even if you're able to say stuff that's common sense to everyone, such as the very obvious math/time that's in the survivors' favor, these gatekeepers will mental gymnastics you until you're blue in the face and you just give up. It's why I don't really use these forums anymore.

People are gonna keep responding, "Just take time to look for them!" not realizing that it's time which killer 100% can't afford at high level. It's enough that we can't end chases quickly, but now we're expected to spend loads of time looking for people because 1 perk counters all aura perks, and gives itself a feedback loop just based off how tokens are accrued.

It's the controlling aspect. Why is it that survivors, in any given match, have enough time to tbag while the killer's sweating their butt off to settle for the draw? They tbag and all die? Cool. But usually they get away with it, because they have a foolproof map and perk set-up.

I don't think playing Nurse is BM, I actually enjoy Nurse both playing her and going against her and I really hope no one is on her saying playing her is an issue. That said, slugging and leaving 4 survivors to bleed out might be fun for the killer but that is the type of toxic stuff that the devs need to look into and actually weed out. And lately, it's been an unfortunate trend lately with Pig.
Nobody slugs all 4 for fun. They do it to be petty. And if Pig is anywhere near a position to do that, that's completely on the survivors, because her current weakness is quite pitiful.
-
You basically can't get hit with a current fast vault, unless the killer's like breathing on you when you do it. It's like getting an old Dead Hard every time.
-
For a tile to be fair, it has to be mindgameable. People's refusal to accept this is why every map is terrible.
-
Against an efficient team, you still have a chance of getting out vs a tunneling killer. If not, they get a 1-2k max. Against bad solos, obviously it increases their chances of winning, and I don't know which possibility is worse: the fact that the killer would have beat y'all without anyway, or the fact that them going for chases is what would have let a bad team like y'all beat them.
But listen. Y'all say you want to go for chases with the killer, but every time killer finds a strategy to win without tunneling, like Box Pinhead, Thana/Pentimento, Eruption, condemned Sadako, etc, y'all say, "That's too strong!" and get it nerfed, which is what forces the killers to resort to tunneling. The killer shouldn't have to provide you fun to be "balanced"; you should be having fun trying to escape and sometimes succeeding. If you kill tunneling like we did camping, hey, what else is there? You want to be slugged all the time just so the killer can win? And if base Unbreakable comes out, what then? Just Nurse and Blight again until they get nerfed? Killers are running out of options, and that's gonna cause what's left of that playerbase to leave the game or permanently switch to survivor.

Do you only play nice to get validation from others? Its funny how playing nice is only a problem when the survivors do something you dislike.
I play nice all the time on killer and get nothing but kind survivors, does that make my experience universal? Of course not, so there's zero point in acting like every survivor player does the same thing.
Moreover you shouldn't be nice just to please other people, you should be nice because it pleases yourself, and further than that you should continue to be nice even if the other side doesn't appreciate it occasionally because there will always be a lot of people that do and being nice is... a good thing to do?
How about we just don't discuss anything then, because it's all "us vs them" anyway?

A lot of my teammates make it really easy on the killer by not playing. They UE around the edges of the map, they get birds in lockers, and they absolutely avoid gens. Annoyingly even the bots are playing the same way. The AI loves to sandbag just like the jerks it's replacing.
Unless you chain killers to the ground so they can't move, there's no way to balance for that garbage. Trying to play the current event with my friend is miserable. Our teammates are hiding while we take all the aggro. If the killer sees them, they sandbag us on our nearly finished gen, pop it to steal the bonus BP, and then go back into hiding. How can the killer not win in these matches?
And you don't see how it's your dumb teammates making you lose, and not the killer being too strong?

You have to revert it back to what it was. What we have right now is practically random. A couple months ago, when it was less loose and had longer queue times, you somewhat knew what you were being paired with/were going up against. You also have to make the game more bearable for killer, whether that means nerfing survivor stuff or buffing the killers. The reason you've got a noob team vs a killer who's actually trying is because 1) the loose MMR/low MMR ceiling forces you to get bad teammates, and 2) killer has dealt with so much crap of theirs getting nerfed that only the most resilient, dedicated, and elite killers remain, who have no problems with camping, tunneling, or slugging any of you. Ideally, the MMR gets fixed before balancing does, because you can't get good data of what's good or not with this crap data we're getting now.
-

The refusal to bring back stricter matchmaking is killing this game. We're back in 2018 where the matchmaking is random, so you get bad teammates as a solo, and sweaty swfs or babies as killer. MMR as a concept is a good idea, but it can't be based off just kills and escapes. That's not indicative of skill, or what happened in the match at all. Just the result. A killer could get 2 kills with 10 hooks or 2 hooks. Team MMR was a step in the right direction: less MMR gained the fewer teammates escape, and less MMR lost the more teammates escape. I could actually get decent teammates if I pushed hard enough.
Now though, the MMR ceiling is so low, and the queue times so fast, that MMR hell is practically the entire ladder. You can't even gain MMR, because your 8-win streak is simply making up for all the matches you shouldn't have lost in the first place. At most you break even. Survive with friends can fix this, but then we're living in the past with the circular debate:
"You can't buff killers! What about solos?"
"You can't nerf killers! What about SWF?"
"You can't nerf SWF! What about solos?"
"You can't buff solos! What about SWF?"
The game cannot be balanced without fixing the matchmaking first. The survivor death rate means nothing if half your deaths are because of weak teammates and not because of the killer. The kill rate means nothing if half your kills are from 2-hooks, 1-hooks, and survivors purposefully dying on hook. If every player in the match knows what they're doing, instead of just half of them, then we'll see what's strong and what's not.

That's dangerously broad, what you're saying. I think it's very obvious that people defend stuff that they use. But if we invalidate their argument just because of that, then what? No balance discussion at all? "Wins they maybe didn't deserve" is pushing it. If anything, that describes the survivors. I don't know if you've seen teams who are efficient on gens, but they can pretty much get owned in chase non-stop yet 3 get out.
