So, I agree that Gearhead could use a buff. However, the fact that it can give info mid chase is perfect for Deathslinger in particular because he wants info mid chase. If you've speared and stabbed a Survivor with Sloppy equipped... if they try to fully reset, they'll be out of the game for a very long time. Deathslinger's 1v4 game is usually poor. He needs to do things that bother multiple survivors at the same time and applying Deep Wound + Mangle to someone then leaving to go after someone else is a very good method of doing that. However he can't do that if he doesn't know where anyone else is. That's why I started running Tinkerer on him even before the whole Ruin + Undying + Tinkerer meta started.
The hit and run playstyle is hit or miss. Ghost Face, Wraith, and Deathslinger are better at it than others, but still. If the survivors are coordinated or have medkits or are exceptional at looping, it doesn't do much and you just end up getting injuries but no downs and get gen rushed.

Are any of them using Calm Spirit? Because that's the only thing I can think of since Billy/Oni with Infectious and Doc are decently popular, and I for one am sick to death of chain instant-downs to a 4 man slug at 4 or 5 generators left.
Calm Spirit does negate screaming but the notifications might still go ahead.
According to the people on this forum, if you're all slugged at 4 or 5 gens, you're just bad. I disagree with them.
-
Basically killer BM was nerfed while survivor BM is untouched. Shocker.
-
If it's a male character, I'll play him. It just depends on the rng bloodweb, because if I don't get DS and Spine Chill, I won't use them.

First off: "Just information" is kinda completely wrong. Information is one of the most important factors in the game.
And I think the PTB version of the perk was still too bad. The base hit condition makes it bad for maybe 30-50% of the killers. The hit condition in general makes it bad because it can easily happen that you lose a good amount of value after your "hitting order" gets messed up, so the perk activates while you are in a chase. If not, you lose a good amount of the timeframe to pickup and hook the survivor (I know, this one got debuffed, but it was still bad in PTB). On top, they reworked Ruin with one argument being the randomness of skillchecks, just to introduce this downside in Gearhead...
In general, the level of information this perk gives you NEEDS some kind of restrictions. It gives you perfect information about gen progression. Think about how strong Ruin+Surveillance is as long as it is up. And that requires 2 perks and will be countered after some minutes. More precise information in a single perk with no counterplay would go near OP. But the conditions they put on it simply breaks most of the possible usage scenarios.
Information is useless unless you are a top tier killer. So many times where you have Pop or Tinkerer and the gen gets completed before you can even get there, or you're in a chase and can't drop it. Even defending gens is useless most of the time. You push a survivor off, his friend comes and finishes it. You defend one gen, 2 others pop anyway. People saying BBQ is OP is a real knee slapper to me, because it's just info and has so many counters. If you're Nurse or Spirit, in which case you'll probably win no matter what perks you're using, sure information can be a strong resource. Otherwise, nah.
-
I'll split it into the most depressing situations for killer and survivor. For survivor, it's doing amazing chases but inefficient teammates cause you to lose. For killer, it's knowing that you're not in control (despite being the killer) because of having to actually retreat from strong loops, focus gens over chases, etc.
-
It's the best exhaustion perk in the game when it wants to be. Sadly dedicated servers ruin it.
-
You usually shouldn't anti-loop with him. Just use his dash for distance, and if the survivors are out positioned then you can attack with it. The only anti-loop he has is the insta-break pallet add-ons. Even then, the survivor might be able to get to yet another pallet. If you're not using one of those add-ons, Brutal Strength is pretty good on him.

"KILLER MUST PICK ME UP FOR MY FREE DS ESCAPE REEE."
Your punishment for getting caught is being at the mercy of the killer. They can leave you and others slugged all game if they want. If your team is bad, then blame them for not picking you up. Ultimately its your fault for getting downed.
Also blame the devs for leaving the game in such a ridiculous state where the only safe play Killers get mid/late game is to Slug, killers need to prevent the hatch from spawning as the final survivor half the time is camping its location. Nothing on the slugging side needs to be changed, DS on the other hand being abused to hell and back needs to be hard nerfed which would massively reduce slugging.
Never said anything about DS. In fact, nobody got a chance to use it because they either got 1-hooked or DCd.

@Ax3ra said:
You want to do what now. They already nerfed pop and now you want to make the killer’s job harder?
Never agreed with that nerf. Games are too fast as is.

If it almost never happens, what's the problem? 🤔🤔🤔
The fact that it can happen is wrong. Killers often say "You have X perk and Y perk to counter this situation" but we can't have every perk equipped that we need. There's bad matchups. If you bring healing stuff, oh it's a Plague so you lose. If you don't bring any anti-slug and they slug, oh well you lose. If you bring a flashlight and it's a Hag or Wraith, oh well they lose. Games are decided too much by matchup rng.
-
We hadn't even been hooked and I don't run Unbreakable because my killers almost never slug. Which is why in instances like this where I don't have Unbreakable, instant loss.

You guys do know you don't have to do the rifts, right?
We want the rewards from them since the base game gives us so little. You know what 700,000 bloodpoints will get you to? Lvl 30 on one character, if even that. And that's taking into account how small the first couple of webs are.

The difference is that survivor mines brainwashed you into sense of guilt if you don't play by their made up rules. While the others are free thinkers and play the way they want, while not letting other dictate their made up "code of honour". You know what pisses most killers off very much? When Ruin is gone in first 20 seconds, even before killer has time to walk to it. Do you think any survivor would ignore it, just to give killer a nicer game? Yeah, right, lol.
That's not a good comparison.
-
You're right. It's not skill. A lot of killers feel forced to play that way, even me. But the difference between me and all those other tryhards is that I admit that it's scummy. They know it is but are proud to have played that way and act like it was pure skill.
-
The perk goes against what a smart survivor is supposed to do. When you get hit, you use your sprint burst to make distance and waste more time. This perk blocks the pallets that are near, which the survivors run away from normally. It's only good against boosted noobs basically.
-
@Chilidawg said:
So true, they should add about 15 more hooks per map as well as remove flip flop, boil over, and tenacity from the game and struggling in general (Sarcasm). There's already a ton of hooks and you can even bring offerings to reduce the distance between them as killer.
So basically, you can't disagree with someone without also trying to make a mockery of them.

It's absolutely baffling how this ######### hasn't been fixed yet. I just had a game that the players completely took advantage of it (the person would get stuck and not hooked, I'd drop and pick them up and then they would either flashlight save or body block so the person I'm trying to hook wiggles free and so as an aside, ######### YOU to those four players, you ######### cocks).
Like, I'm ######### steaming right now and am highly considering just uninstalling this game and being done. The game is becoming less and less fun and when ######### like this happens, I get a lot angrier and pissed off than I really should. But how this wasn't fixed like....HOURS after it was discovered, let alone weeks now just feels like a big ol ######### You to me as a killer. This is a basic function of the game for the killers and it's utterly crippled right now. It's bad enough when I have to kill a few precious seconds dropping and picking someone up but when survivors are specifically exploiting this ######### is just absolutely game breaking.
I'm sure once I calm down and take the time to reinstall the game, I'll regret these harsh words but right now, BHVR, this is absolutely pathetic and you should be ashamed that this ######### isn't sorted out yet.
Here here!

I never said it didn't happen.
And if you get frustrated/offended by flashlights and t-bagging, that's a you problem. Not a them problem. Lighten up on your delicate sensibilities.
Toxic survivor apologist.
-
Bring back the DC penalties.
-
Corrupt, Pop, & Barbecue are needed for most killers just to play the game normally. Gen speed is trumping killer skill, game after game. When the killer loses after getting 3 hooks, he's a "baby killer", yet was never given enough time to even showcase his skill in chase. And that's because gens are too fast, and these gen regression perks are the only thing mitigating that.
-
They've ruined flashlights. I can never get a flashlight save anymore. But somehow the survivors I go against get it every time, probably PC elites.

I’ve been seeing quite a few threads on deathslinger about how he’s annoying to go against and how broken his zoning ability is. I even saw one that said Scott Jund himself said his power was broken? I agree somewhat that slinger’s ability can be kind of annoying as you don’t know when he will shoot because of how instant he can fake his ability. What do you think? Is he next for a rework?
He's perfectly fair, especially considering he loses a lot. Go against him on Ormand or the new preschool, and he's easy to beat.

@SoShiny said:
I would really love to have the yellow mori baked into every killer's base kit. It's probably the fairest one of all of them and it would help resolve the "I crawled into a corner, so there isn't a hook for miles" issue at the end of the game. Losing points for this is so bleh, and having to wait for a survivor to bleed out is boring (on both sides).
Or have it to where hooks don't destroy themselves after a survivor gets sacrificed on them. It literally makes zero sense.
-
@MusicNerd_TC said:
Also, remove the ability to suicide on hook.
I've been wanting the second phase to be reworked for a long time. Why do I have to mash a button? Just have it be like the first phase where I can wait and collect my thoughts.

It's a survivor favoring bug, so that's why something so game breaking hasn't been fixed like yesterday.You mean like the DS stun bug? Or the Hill Glitch?
What is the DS stun bug? I may have experienced it but I'm not sure. And the hill bug was at least avoidable, just don't go up the edge of the hill.
-
Someone who spent money on this game. I at least deserve to play it. I'm guessing you can't sympathize because you didn't experience the bug yourself.

@ill_Boston_lli said:
have you had a situation where they wiggled out because of it?? I haven't had an instance where that screwed me in any way and its happened many of times.
Yes I have. If you haven't, you either got lucky that the bug fixed itself, or you were able to drop and pick up the survivor which is the bug fix. But when people are body blocking hooks or a guy has Boil Over, it's a free getaway.
-
@ill_Boston_lli said:

I believe since PH isn't nurse tier levels of good, he won't be butchered. I understand survivors don't like the m1/m2 switch, but come on how often are you running straight to a pallet :/. I'm hoping they balance his add-ons instead of his power tbh.
Yeah his add-ons either suck or are amazing.
-
I feel as well that the perk has a flawed design. Only dumb survivors are gonna waste their sprint burst and stay at the loop, even without this perk being used.
-
@Dreamnomad said:
It's a nice add on. I do agree that there should be at least one playable common add on for each killer.
It's probably the only good brown for Wraith actually. He's a pretty add-on dependent killer. I've been playing with the Serpent and the Hound together, and it turns him into a straight E tier.
-
I know some people aren't gonna think every counter on this list is gonna work, but they should at least accept them as "as close to a counter as you can get". Think of it like that and you'll at least know you're doing all you can do.

@Justalittlepeeck said:
Should I add more?
His power is very easy to dodge - just move right/left a bit and he cannot land a hit because of turning rate&lunge handicap.
It is useless in 90% of loops because you don't fit into narrow windows of opportunity to hit survivor as it takes too long to windup lethal rush.
It is entirely useless in closed maps unless you are a masochist and enjoy torturing yourself
The only situation it can potentially be useful apart from traversing the map - trying to hit survivors moving from one loop to another, but it work only if survivor isn't looking back to notice you charging at him and perform simple juke that you cannot counter because of turning handicaps.
His power is heavily dependant on the map spawns and if you don't get lucky spawns to potentially bounce in loops you are forced to walk and if you get spawn where everything is blocked by different tiles you still can't use your power because you simply can't move in these labyrinths of walls.
Blight in his current state is an example of how killers should never be made. He has a lot of learning demanded to do at least anything with his power and no matter how much effort and time you invest into learning him, you still are heavily dependant on tiles spawns and maps. On top of that, any survivor who has at least some experience against billy would dodge his rush without any difficulties.
This killer needs a lot of QoL changes, buffs or a rework. I'm disappointed in Blight and I'm really looking forward to his changes.
P.S. I'm not even talking how clunky it still feels to play him, his lethal rush attacks are somehow not basic and his camera is insanely low for a killer who MUST always keep survivors in his field of view.
P.P.S. Don't even dare say that "but you haven't even learned him". I have been playing him for 2 hours straight since release, not to mention a few days on PTB, a lot of KYF testing on both sides and watching other people play blight. That amount of experience was enough for me to figure out most tricks on any other killer I started from scratch. I have tried to use his power in any way I could imagine and it has proven itself to be rather useless and heavily dependant on factors that the Blight player cannot control. So I've come to the same conclusion as many other players - Blight sucks and needs a lot of changes.
I don't know bro. Half the people who play him rage quit, and half of them 3-4k.
-
@MadLordJack said:
Let's not forget survivors revealing him through a solid wall because they glimpsed him for half a second through a window. Or the fact that the 3rd person camera makes it so that they can reveal you and you have no idea where they are.
That doesn't happen.

@Deadeye said:
Removal XD
I don't like the pinball power at all. And seems completely random from the idea. All powers make sense in any way, why the Blight cannot attack or gets a fatigue when not crushing his head into walls looks stupid to me. I don't like the design nor gameplay.
But he definitely needs hitbox fixes
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1604021#Comment_1604021
If you take this game seriously, then his playstyle should annoy you
It doesn't. Not until I've had a hands-on experience at least. It's supposed to emulate jumping off of walls & ceilings, that sort of mobile killer, but clearly the game has its limitations or else they would have gone for that. His ability is "silly" because people choose to perceive it that way.

Yeah it's more of an option select. Both options result in you getting hit.

@Chunkyboi said:
I know that he doesnt have that much counterplay, but why is a killer called unfun if he cant be countered.
I personally love playing as and against him and its really fun on both sides for me cuz of the mindgames you can do as him and against him.
People are just used to playing the same way against every killer and thats the issue here.
I just wanted to know why?
Probably because of his ability to play around DS, which flips the game on it's head since everyone runs and abuses that perk. Also, his split-second baiting of his ranged attack. If you vault the window, he has it preemptively ready. If you don't, he cancels it and hits you. Similar thing with pallets. That's stronger than both Huntress and Deathslinger's projectiles, which I can't believe is a statement that exists.

Let's be real, we all have matches where we just want to mess around in a positive way. so, what are your (positive) troll builds? What offerings do you bring? Mine would be
M&A, Dark Devotion, Whispers and tremors + shroud of separation on deathslinger. (people usually catch on that i'm just messing around fairly quickly)
Probably Soul Guard/Unbreakable and Head-On. The last perk is either a meta perk or another throwaway joke slot.

#1 change is for people to stop calling him ping pong boy. Unpopular opinion, I know. But as someone who takes this game seriously, you can see why that annoys me.
