Leatherface has better addons. Hillbillies base kit is better.
Yes but Leatherface is a 1 trick pony, and Hillbilly isn't even that.
-
It would definitely be a faster and simpler fix than whatever it is the devs have tried doing to him.

He needs an addon buff. But he’s still very much competitive.
He's unviable. You'd get better results with Leatherface than with him.
-
Really, it should give you your grab. A hit does nothing for me when I need a grab.
-
Not at all. I need at least 3. It helps when I actually pip.
-
I liked the chapter. The biggest hype with chapters is the announcement itself, then the reveal via ptb, then you get it in the actual game and it's done. This leaves a lot of chapters feeling underwhelming but this is a DBD DLC we're talking about, so it's not gonna be anything super huge. I like that we got a new map, and I have few issues with its design. I like Leon and Jill getting in the game, even though I prefer their pre-remake looks more. Same with Nemesis. Nemesis is also an addicting killer. Good perks all around. I just hated the launch, because I could barely play the game.
-
Yes. They messed the game up a while back, then they fixed it (sorta), then they broke it again.

So they get a 5 minute penalty... then another... then 15 minutes... then 30 minutes...
It's not sustainable, at all, and they're robbing themselves of points because... what? You were going for the 4k and didn't get it, but still won the trial?
Woe be you, and the fact you couldn't get a 4k and this team is now matchmaking locked for at least 5 minutes.
DC tech apologist.

Yes!

Y'all are gonna kill another good system.

This would be really annoying when the killer you're facing is Legion. I don't think stopping the action outright is a good idea. I think it would be way healthier instead if it were to deplete the timer faster when the survivor is interacting with a generator, for example. Rather than losing 1 second of Deep Wound time per-second, you would lose let's say, 1.5 seconds, or more, per-second instead.
Yes, at least do that. Because right now, I mean geez.
-
What bothers me the most about Leatherface basically guaranteeing a kill off of 1 down, is that Hillbilly can't do the same because his chainsaw stops after he downs someone and Leatherface's does not. Why the inconsistency in mechanics when they're literally both chainsaws?

Grammar.

Strange thread....
If the absolute worst case scenario of a SWF+Toolboxes+BP+PT+4pGen can still lead to a 4K then complaining about current gen speeds is just silly. If you wanted an easier time you could have brought addons, no one stopped you. This type of an SWF situation is also not representative of every match in DBD, but in fact represents just a small minority.
After 2.8k hours playing solo survivor, I have seen pretty much every iteration of survivor builds, and frankly at red ranks BNPs are quite rare these days, not to mention multiple BNPs.
Actually, on second thought this thread is not strange. It is just plain stupid/
The point is this type of gen speed shouldn't be possible. I know people like to think every time one of these matches happen, it's a 4k anyways. But it isn't always. To me, if the survivors have that good of a start, they threw the game. They basically started with 4 gens, and they got 4k'd. Doesn't that sound like boosted potatoes to you? Probably just a memer SWF that wants a quick first gen, and then they throw the game because they don't actually care about winning. When the team does care to win, they'll continue pushing gens instead of grinding them to a halt after the first one, like half these other teams like to do.

you are also type of a guy who like to complain. Maybe you aren't that good to play without addons having such whiney attitude. I mean mmr is on and you will face actual challenging matches instead of playing 4k walking sim against random ranks lobbies like it was before
I never thought I'd see someone talk down to a killer that plays without add-ons.
-
Maybe the DC penalty is where your problem lies.
-
They don't. They're just scared of the unknown, and bandwagoning.

Yep, freezes are way longer than before. I had 3 (three) seconds freeze 2 games in a row!
Actually embarrassing.
Anytime I hook someone, or when they use an exhaustion perk. Or when I'm playing survivor and I use an exhaustion perk.
-
Oh yeah? Well, Dead By Daylight is 3 words. What does this have to do with anything? You'll see. You may have heard of the "Rule of 3"? Rules.
A popular saying is, "Rules are for fools." Another is, "I pity the fool." Fool. These 2 sayings both have the word fool, but one of them is different. Can you tell what it is? That's right. The first one has an S, making the word fools. S.
S looks like a snake. A type of snake is a copperhead snake. Copper. Copper is slang for a police officer. The first syllable of police officer is "pol", which sounds the same as pole. Pole.
Poles are an ethnic group found primarily in Europe. Know what else is in Europe? Joey Tempest.
Joey Tempest is the next Dead By Daylight killer confirmed.
-
I guess it's the end of your DBD career then!

Any killer that would stay at that main building even before this change deserves to get looped it's just not a smart play, if anything I'll let survivor do that gen there because then it's easier to force a three gen and most of the other tiles suck in that map it's a ez win if you just ignore that building
That's poor map design.
-
It never started working again. Even after the "big fix" it was still acting up.
-
The freezes are bad.
-
I don't have any. They're freaking zombies, man.
-
They probably need to port this game onto a new engine. It might take a long time, and they'd be doing it in the background as well as taking time away from the actual game in other areas. But I think it's a necessary change if this game is gonna keep going.
-
They keep introducing patches that bring lag and fps drops with them.

But how would you address the queue time then..
Cause all there NEED to be. is a Casual Mode. and a Rank Mode. Bam
Solved the issue..
That could work too but MMR is so much closer to a reality at this point, so let's just go with it.
-
Because if you let them go you won't see them again until 5 gens have been completed and everyone jumps through the ez win hatch.

Because you won't win as Any killers. reguardless of how good you do against survivors.
You'll be matched with only the best of the best. Stretch Res survivors. Abusing the ######### outta it, making mindgames unmindgameable.
Top that onto splitting gens and having Atleast. maybe 4 ds's and just completing gens at Record time, Running before you could even see them,
It'll make all the killers non-viable.. Hell. Nurse and Spirit will Struggle Even,
Top that with how bad delay hits and Auto Aim can make or break your game in a Single chase,
Welcome to 1080 x 1080 Comp survivor prespective.. https://streamable.com/czfgex
Yes it will be rough at first. But if we do this, the devs and everyone else will finally see, "Oh, killers really do get stomped when matched with survivors of equal skill." And they'll start balancing the game around their newly found data. They'll be able to prove what we've been saying for so long, which is survivors get destroyed in low ranks and killers get destroyed in high ranks. And you won't be facing sweat squad SWF forever. If you lose, your MMR goes down, so you'll face them less. That's how it works.

Well, there are some perks and killers who blocks/ignore loops, entity blocks the window once survivor used it 3 times in a chase, and pallet loop is gone once killer realizes that he needs to kick a god pallet/decent pallet loop. So what's your problem with removing Blood lust tier 3? Bloodlust tier 3 is a hindrance to new killers giving them false incentive to keep chasing good survivors instead of dropping chase and doing more important stuff (or learning on how to run a tile properly/forcing survivors to drop pallet early) which is why I think it should be removed as a pointless gimmicky mechanic. I never stated that Bloodlust itself should be removed since it's used as a fix in map design flaws.
No, but you're saying bloodlust 3 should be removed and it shouldn't, because it's not problematic. New players want to keep using it to get downs? That's on them, and that's fine with me since I'm red rank and won't be playing with them. The smarter players will get downs without even needing to go into bloodlust. So all this would really do is hurt new players.

After you play long enough survivors getting too close to you or "spinning" you becomes a lot less effective, you literally just have to flick to the side and you'll hit them 99% of the time without even thinking about doing it, if that seems impossible to you your sensitivity maybe too low.
It's 95-100 I'm pretty sure.
-
Off. Right now, console lags when Dead Hard and other things happen, whereas PC gets none of that. If I'm suffering from a disadvantage, my opponents better be too.
-
Yes! It's the most accurate way to collect data so we can finally balance the game!
-
Oh because noobs getting matched with pros consistently is better?
-
We want MMR because right now, you never know what you're gonna get. Absolute potatoes? God tier loopers who can't do gens? God tier gen jockies who can't loop? Seemingly perfect players? 3 good players with one baby they have to carry? This game's matchmaking is the most inconsistent thing in the world. It makes CoD's matchmaking look good!

Its like 70%-75%. your almost frozen in place. that cooldown is so horrible. you can just spam cancel your power and see how much distance the survivor gets from that cooldown. Its really bad in particular for vile purge because it impairs your ability to chain the broken status effect with an M1. It makes plague feel clunky, probably one of the many reasons why plague is played very little.
Read my mind. This is why she's 115% but feels like the slowest ranged killer in the game when she uses her power.

I have to agree with this. Take Victors cooldown for example. He comes back nigh instantly. Kicking him hardly buys survivors any time and yet, landing him on people can be surprisingly difficult or next to impossible on certain maps with invisible slopes (I'm lookin at you backwater nasty swamp).
That's what I hate about killers like Twins. Their payoff is so high when they're played optimally, but the game won't allow that because of BS hitboxes and poor fov.

I’m not saying what survivors do needs to change. What needs to change is how unforgiving a killer not having pin point accuracy is. I’d rather have more generous hurt boxes and longer cooldowns.
No compromise. More generous hurt boxes. Period.

Then don't play these killers? We have tons of killers who don't need mechanical skill or precise timing. Legion, Freddy, Myers, Ghostface, Trapper, Hag and Wraith are some that come to mind.
Terrible examples for what you were trying to say, mostly because pretty much every killer requires mechanical skill and precise timing. You need to know as Legion if you can make it to the next person with your frenzy, or if you don't have time to get to them. You need to place snares immediately as Freddy so you don't get slowed down. You need to tap stalk in just the right way at just the right position, or the survivor gets to the pallet/window and you waste half your lvl 3 trying to get them. Hag needs to tp immediately to her traps. And that's not even talking about regular chases which, it goes without saying, require precision and mechanical skill.
-
@Razorbeam said:
Most abilities that require precision literally make survivors run into you if you just threaten to use it so I don't think it's that bad...
Yes but then you deal with cancel animation time, and the survivor gets the vault or whatever scott free. Or they run in you to where you can't even tell what the heck is happening. Did they go through me, in me, around me? Why can't I hear them when they're 1 millimeter from me?
-
It's true. My survivors, who beat me due to out of whack gen speeds btw, don't even really loop. They just hold forward after getting hit, or they do a failed 360 and get downed. Either way, they get out. It's way harder for killer to precisely hit than it is for survivors to go wasdawadsadwadadaaad. And imagine dealing with that as a console killer. Whether you're going for a basic attack or an ability attack, they can just do that and have near-invulnerability because of aim dressing, bad hitboxes, or lag.
-
Any killer's 2 strongest add-ons, when used together, can be "too much"... for an average Joe. There's pretty much no 2 add-ons in the game that, when used together, are completely unbeatable. 2-iri Trapper, best add-ons Nurse, best add-ons Spirit, you name it.

@TheMadCat said:
I don't think it matters if we like or dislike the new system. It'll come eventually.
Yes well some people in this community dislike things that they haven't even seen in action yet. We still don't have a fully functioning MMR system, so all these tests they've done aren't even representative of the final product. People look at these tests (or they don't, they just assume) and are like, "This will never work." So do they want the devs to experiment and try and improve the game, or would they prefer that nothing changes? 🤔
-
Right now they'll be using it even more, and to even more effect. Pretty much any exhaustion perk on console lags both the survivor's and the killer's screen. So it's literally an unfair perk now because you swing, miss, and because it lagged the survivor gains even more distance from the miss than they usually would. This is why I have crossplay turned off, because I want to be facing players with the same disadvantages I have, then maybe the match will be even.
-
You uninstalled? Over this?

They drop the chase or kick a pallet and git gud, end of the story. Bloodlust tier 3 is a hindrance to new killers who don't know how to play and doesn't have any particular use outside of the "there's only 1 survivor left" type of scenario. New players don't have any incentive to drop the chase because they're gonna get rewarded for it with tier 3 bloodlust until they reach a certain rank where that kind of tactic is easily punished. Bloodlust tier 1 and 2 need to stay because BHVR maps sometimes can be an absolute mess but tier 3 should be removed.
Well this is where we are. A killer mechanic that barely kicks in, doesn't even make the playing field even, because we know the time invested already is game-throwing, never seen at high level and maybe once or twice at rank 20, but it has to go? Why? Because the killer doesn't know when to quit chasing, and he gets rewarded anyway? Hmm, let me think of an equivalent. Imagine if someone was like, "Pallets should be blocked after 3 slides, because survivors don't know when to quit looping, and they get rewarded anyway." Sounds stupid, doesn't it?
-
Yes.
