If you're thrown into a place you've never seen before and told by an all powerful being to kill everyone, guess what, you're gonna do that.

Gameplay wise- this doesn't work because people can just pick, y'know, female survivors.

Lore wise- this doesn't work because somehow making female survivors die slowly and painfully is treating them better than the male survivors?

-I don't think Huntress cares about gender at all, she takes the little girls because she sees herself in them and wants to help them.

Gameplay wise- this doesn't work because people can just pick, y'know, female survivors.

how would people pick female survivors if you cant see what killer you're up against in the lobby? also i never said that they should have an advantage, just different interactions.

Lore wise- this doesn't work because somehow making female survivors die slowly and painfully is treating them better than the male survivors?

well, she does just that in her lore. it's not like i made it up myself. i would think swiftly dying with an axe in the head would be more merciful than wasting away slowly. but you have to understand the huntress is not a normal person like me and you, she doesn't have the mental capacity to understand her actions.

the girls would be tied by the neck with a rough and chafing rope fastened firmly to the wall. She couldn't let them wander off, or they would surely die outside.Every time, the girls would waste away and die of cold or starvation or sickness.

-I don't think Huntress cares about gender at all, she takes the little girls because she sees herself in them and wants to help them.

Unlucky souls who strayed into her territory were slaughtered like any other animal. But she could never bring herself to kill the little girls. Girls she would take back to her house, deep in the woods. They were precious, and looking at them woke up something deep in her heart.

i think it's obvious that she does care about gender, keep in mind that for her:

men = the soldiers who kill eachother.

women = her mother, herself, and the daughter she wants to have.

she has never had a normal interaction with a man. well, or any people except her mother. you can't apply your normal logic to her. put yourself in her shoes. if she had any.

Give her unique moris and lullabies depending on the gender.

For men they get the standard Mori and a more menacing/dangerous sounding lullaby.

Women get the standard lullaby and a Mori where she more or less incapacitates them.

Maybe as a bonus for targeting male survivors she can pick up the axe she just threw (as long as it isn't iri head) from the downed survivor. I don't think the bonuses should be too big.

that's a great idea. another one could be only female survivors hear the lullaby. or it's only there while a female survivor is on a hook.

in general, there was a very obvious theme about motherhood and childhood that got completely lost with the new lore. after losing her mother, who was all she had, she basically tried to get a daughter of her own, singing them the same lullabies her mother did.

"When unsuspecting travellers came through her woods, she discovered her new favourite prey: humans. Unlucky souls who strayed into her territory were slaughtered like any other animal."

"But she could never bring herself to kill the little girls."

"Villagers spread the legend of a half-beast lurking in Red Forest: The Huntress, who killed men and ate little girls."

the new lore, it became male-centric with the whole "finding a gift for my dead soldier daddy" thing. this doesnt even make sense since in her original lore, she had no father figure from the start. also it's implied that she became a killer before the war even started.

"War eventually came to the forest."

it also says that after the war, rumors of her existance died out.

2)running any combination of iron will, dead hard, and ds.

3)idling at exit gate (if im the last survivor) or hatch until the killer pushes me out.

cool. but both teams are managed by bhvr.

perhaps they can use their budget more efficiently, spending less money on the cosmetics team and hiring more programmers instead?

I never got the "they're two different teams" excuse.

by the way, I don't see anyone complaining that we don't have enough cosmetics. in fact, most of them are pretty ugly, and no one cares or looks forward to new ones.

So. What exactly do you think is ban worthy according to the rules but doesn’t result in bans?

body blocking, game hostage/stalling, harassing, toxic behavior, idling, working with the killer, the list goes on. and no I known slugging and camping isn't bannable. I know the rules.

the claudette could just go to the nemmy, try to bait a m1 then jump.

otherwise if she closes the hatch when he sees her, she can tank a hit and open the hatch. you can't grab while using key.

Well. Others can tell you for sure though

i personally don’t know anyone who got banned. But I don’t really have many friends that play DbD and those that do are not doing bannable stuff.

there are some streamers that do obvious hacking and are proud of the high numbers of how often they got banned as well!

if you look at the op I mention hacking as one of the only punished offenses

  • @Mooks said:

You can here read up on game rules and how to report:

Why would you believe they are banning for hacks and death threats but not for other stuff? Keep in mind for ‚mild‘ rule violations there might be just a warning or temporary ban which isn’t visible on the profile.

I don't need to know how to report, I already know that.

you have 9k posts on this forum, who knows how many gameplay hours. you've been around for quite some time it seems.

tell me one occasion of someone who got banned, even a friend of a friend.

the report system just doesn't work. it's a facade.

I got a same question, as DBD juices my CPU as much as a BR game would,

    and feedback,

changing some things in GameUserSettings, and adding launch commands: -dx12 -fullscreen

removed lags that I didn't even used to have before and suddenly got them

I didn't quite get your comment, are you saying you can modify the ini file to gain a better performance? could you explain how?

  • that's cool but you have to remember that this game has been out for 7 years and not one single mechanic, new mode, or anything else has been implemented since then. so none of this is ever going to happen, unless maybe as a desperate attempt when the playerbase starts dying for good.

dbd is passive income for bhvr employees, someone wrote some wonky code 7 years ago and look at them now, still profiting off of that just by releasing one trashy skin once in a while.

they would only make these if they released a dbd2, or well, these ideas could be used by some competitors, if they actually existed. i wish they would, then we could actually boycott bhvr and they would understand what terrible developers they are.

  • they actually should increase the number of perks in the shrine too since there's more of them now. or just dont make the free character ones appear.

  • yeah, sucks when i paid for the game and meet the minimum requirements but i just cannot play because i randomly get 5 fps every other day for no reason.

bhvr is a joke and honestly they need to be sued.

  • oh by the way, rpd is unplayable on lower/medium end machines as well as console and i can already see new haddonfield being fps hell with those graphics.

they start to piece things together, clearly? like look at benedict's journal, they clearly grow aware eventually if they're smart

I'm basically going through the tomes in order, and not spoiling myself through the wiki. it takes a pretty long time and I'm still at tome 3, so forgive me but I don't know about Benedict's diary yet.

anyway I think what I said still stands, that if you kill someone out of survival instinct or necessity, you're still a survivor. imagine two survivors running and one pushes the other to buy himself time and escape the killer.

while if you kill someone else just because you enjoy it, perhaps you would become a killer, if you're not one already from the beginning like trickster.

  • @kizuati said:

I've always wondered if a Killer could grow a human connection (maybe legion?) and for the entity decide that they'll be more of use as a survivor..

Or a survivor getting darker and darker thoughts getting pushed into their mind by the entity to become a killer...?

there's an entry in one of the first tomes that mentions survivors killing other survivors who have gone mad. specifically it says someone realized he was stuck in this neverending nightmare and he went crazy and started screaming and the others had to "shut him up" by drowning him in a puddle to avoid being found by the killer.

this doesnt stop them from their role of survivors though. i think the intention behind the action is what makes you a killer, and that's something they did specifically to survive and not with malice of heart... well not exactly.

anyway it's kind of a weird entry because the devs said that they get memory wiped after every trial, so idk. maybe it was subtly retconned.

  • @GuyFawx said:

The Impersonator concept works better if they can become different killers with use of their powers almost like Tsang Tsung from mortal kombat as survivors with communication can easily ruin the concept

that's a cool concept. i could really see a killer like that perhaps with a theme concerning mirrors and reflections, someone who didnt like his appearance when alive. possibly male to subvert some stereotypes.

Still a waste of time if I have to work on a generator to regress it. Better using Call of Brime: one kick, 200% regression, notification if someone get a skillcheck... But until someone touches it, I can do Killer's things.

If I wanna repair generator, I play Survivor. I understand the idea but I think even Myers would be considered a top tier Killer compared to this one.

People already complain because some Killer's power have nothing to do with chase. So, when you're not repairing a generator, you're a simple M1 Killer?

im just throwing random concepts around to see if an impostor type of killer could be implemented and how the mechanics would work. dont think too much about the balance of it. that wasnt the point

  • @TheMadCat said:

I'd hate the idea of working on a generator as a Killer, especially to give a difficult skill check that no one will fail.

Like, instead of chasing someone, I'm helping them?

Also, solo Q is already selfish enough, so if you add more reasons to be...

As Mandy said, SWF will immediately know.

I don't know. I think no one would play a Killer who has the power to waste even more of their time not countering the Survivors.

you just have to be creative though. what if it regressed all existing generators at the same speed as repairs? imagine, another survivor sees you already working on that gen, you do the pointy emote, so they leave and look for another one. little do they know.

it would also imply that a gen being worked on by a single survivor would be frozen. this would incentivate survivors to work on gens as 2, all while not knowing if their partner is actually the killer who is gonna jump them or a legit survivor. giving you overall either an insane better than ruin slowdown, or a hit/down with no chase.

  • @Harold_Shipman said:

It wouldnt work for killers, but a survivor perk that let you and another survivor swap appearances would a neat anti tunnel perk

that could never be implemented in the game though, it would be more like a survivor power rather than perk. unless one day they do that, and differentiate each survivor with a power + stats (running speed, vaulting speed, repair speed). that would only happen in a hypothetical dbd2 though, the entire game would need to change.

this is off topic but i'd love to see it, instead of seeing always the same survivors. (also would change the meta, most survivors have the same copy and paste build while killers see more variety, for obvious reasons.)

  • completely agree, it's a strat, and sometimes a good one, sometimes not. i'm never mad at the killer though, he can play however he wants.

i do get mad at my teammates though, when they just stand there through my entire 2 hook phases crouched behind a corner. like, either tank a hit and unhook me, or go do something else. why are you facecamping me with the killer? especially when they're healthy and on hook 0 like... you can't just swap a hook? or take a chance perhaps?

so basically: in my experience it's always the survivors who are toxic, regardless of circumstance (more specifically, i mean that it's them that make the game frustrating). whatever killer behavior i dont consider toxic, cause at the end of the day even being camped and tunneled you're helping your team. meanwhile he's on his own team alone and he can do whatever he wants, yk?

  • my build is usually something like: thanatophobia, hex: haunted ground, hex: undying, hex: noed.

i feel like it works pretty well since it occupies so many totem spots and survivors tend to bless dull totems only, as it takes too much time to bless hexes, especially with thanatophobia, giving you opportunities to defend them and catch them off position at a totem. running this build i've noticed that i don't see many CoH which messes me up pretty bad when i play sadako. you could also swap thanatophobia with nurse calling or hex: thrill of the hunt.

also if i see two or more flashlights i bring lightborne. the 10 second aura vision can make you win a loop with insane mindgames thanks to sadako's short height, and i feel like people forget that this part of the perk is even there.

i think people focus too much on slowdown perks and don't realize that all the time spent cleansing totems is also a form of slowdown. my mmr is not insanely high by the way, i believe it is medium or perhaps medium high. against a 4swf i doubt this build would work though.

  • belive me, you guys are not ready for this conversation regarding sociology, psychology, sexuality, and pop culture. i actually wrote my final thesis on a similar topic. excuse my english if it's wonky (not my first language) and the wall of text.

when you say "popular in lgbt spaces" you actually mean: popular with gay men, cis straight women, and a few transgender women. lesbian and transmasc players are pretty much non-existant.

now, horror media is popular in lgbt spaces because it sexualizes females a lot and queer males romanticize and idolize that kind of male gazey femininity, the same one that straight men sexualize but the dynamics are different. in general, queer males obsess over females and divas, and horror media usually contains final girls who prevail over strong scary monsters or whatever but doing so, not through sheer force of muscle or anything but in a "feminine" way (as i said, it's meant to appeal to the male gaze).

with dbd they live out the fantasy of being said final girl. notice how yun jin, kate, and nancy are the most popular survivors among gay players, and how in general they pick the most traditionally feminine female character available in all videogames. otherwise they play the sexualized male characters like shirtless david and such.

basically it's just a sexualized fantasy of being helpless and defenseless but overcoming your aggressor and having your "yas queen, strong independent woman" moment vicariously, and doing so while subconsciously visualizing yourself through an external observer lens.

a similar phenomena is observed in women since they tend to sexualize situations where they're in peril or in danger, or in their case, even straight up sexualize the killers themselves. CNC fetishes or SA fantasies are very popular among straight women, not to mention how real existing serial killers have female groupies and fandoms, also see how there's fanfictions about school shooters etc... what also attracts the female playerbase is the fact that it appeals to the true crime community, which is prevalently female, all for interconnected reasons.

last but not least: the fact that it's a mechanically easy game and is easily accessible to the non hardcore gamers (or even non-gamers) slice of the gay and female demographic. in fact many of them actually play dbd only, with playtimes reaching even the thousand of hours, despite not playing other videogames unless you count mobile stuff or more "casual" games.

don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that these people are sexaully stimulated while playing the game. it's more on a subconscious level. it's embarassing, but it is what it is.

    inb4:

"im a gay dude and i dont relate to any of this, which means that despite the fact that it applies to 70% of the community it's wrong because it's not true for me specifically, and i physically lack the capacity to perceive the world through a point of view that is not mine."

"im a lesbian and i play the game, therefore you're wrong about the fact that we are a minuscule part of the player base, because i have no idea how math works, my own anecdotal and empirical experience makes more sense to me."

    "you're homophobic."

  • new ptb should be up in days but I doubt there will be significant or useful changes.

First of all not all maps are square, I believe there are more irregular maps than rectangular ones.

About having hills and trees acting as limits, its a great idea but sadly the game is poorly optimized, having a hill, trees, a lake or stuff like that while cool would probably hurt performance, especially on consoles, as long as the performance remains a problem I think is better the maps remain this way, even if they feel a bit cheap on the borders.

yeah you're right, didn't think about performance. especially considering bodies of water, we don't really have any of those. they would probably break the game.

But there is slanted terrain. The swamp for instance has slanted terrain, and in fact it kind of messes up the pathing of Artist's crows.

And no, I'm not expecting you to name a bunch of shapes, I responded to the question you typed in your original post, i.e. "WHY ARE ALL THE MAPS SQUARE OR RECTANGULAR?" Don't get snippy with me because you didn't ask the question you thought you asked.

now that you mention it you're right, swamp is slightly slanted. though i meant something more drastic, like a hill upon which you could see the lower level from above.

And no, I'm not expecting you to name a bunch of shapes, I responded to the question you typed in your original post

sure, you technically responded to my question correctly. sadly there is no prize for you because this isn't a game quiz. everyone else understood what i meant without overanalyzing my wording. like, we're all perfectly aware that the maps are not literal rectangles bro. chill.

The original poster was asking about why maps (not tiles) are rectangular. But some of the maps aren't rectangles.

i know full well that maps aren't literal rectangles. you expected me to name all the irregular shapes with varying number of angles of all maps? lol. clearly the semanthics of my question meant that there are no undefined edges or circular ones in any given map. and @Voodoo_Thirsty 's response makes sense as to why that's not a thing. i imagine that because of the nature of ai generation it could cause problems with tiles half-clipping out of bounds. not that it's an unsourmountable issue, but it's bhvr we're talking about. i wouldn't even dare imagine.

anyway, i would also like to add that the maps are completely flat. like, despite some having two levels, both of those are 2d. there are no slanted terrains or anything like that, and that's pretty sad too honestly.

  • @BubbaDredge said:

They don't stay in the trial, the endgame screen shows them leaving just like survivors (but not with them). Running to the next trial, I assume.

I would say the killers awareness of the situation depends on the killer.

Some killers like Pinhead and Executioner probably understand the situation completely, to the extent a demon would understand how hell and heaven works. They're metaphysical to start with, always seeing beyond what humans see.

The ghost killers and the ones that died in life probably see it as their hell. Rolling the same rock up the hill for eternity, except it's killing the same toxic humans over and over.

Bubba don't think deep. He's just protecting his family and trying to put food on the table. He probably recognizes faces sometimes, but he's so severely mentally handicapped he doesn't speak at all. He might be less capable of understanding than a five year old. Bubba is the real victim.

Demo is an animal, controlled by one Entity or another, we know they can recognize people, but killing the same person twice probably isn't something he'd think about. Just imagine a cat killing a mouse, "wait, is this the same mouse I killed yesterday?" The might notice "sometimes they smell exactly alike".

Doc knows and loves it, he didn't want his victims to die.

There's no way to answer for Michael, there's nothing inside him but pure evil.

I don't feel qualified to answer for any others. Fun question.

alright but the entity blocks the exit. assuming she unblocks it after a trial ends, where would killers go? I don't think they could walk up to a different trial. in fact, I don't think they're connected at all.

like, a trial ground + exit paths + the campfire, is one "map" and there's nothing else in that world, just infinite random forest. but if they could walk up to another trial ground, they would find themselves locked out of the exit gate. now the entity could just leave those open and powered until a killer enters, but regardless, this sort of scenarios implies two things:

    • a killer could theoretically stumble upon the campfire. (jesus)
    • survivors could walk up to other trials and help other survivors, if exit gates are already opened (imagine a 20v1 match). who knows, this may be even connected to the way the survivors ultimately escape from the entity, since canonically all the playable ones do. unless the entrance gets blocked the same way the killer's exit is...

now, the entity could prevent both of these things happening simply by reshaping the terrain and making them walk in an infinite loop, redirecting them without them even noticing (imagine walking in a straight line but finding yourself in the same spot you started.) Or just straight up blocking survivors/killers if they stray too far away from their intended bounds.

basically i don't think the layout of the world has to make logical sense. but then again, it could. since the observer is there somewhere and undetected by the entity, this implies that the entity has no full control over its universe.

also, if the killers are just teleported to another trial, that implies mommy entity having full control over them, including pinhead and ph which I don't think it's possible considering they're powerful entities on their own. (do we know if the entity is canonically more powerful than them?)

    additional observations:

    • the killer walking in the endgame screen may just be a stylistic choice, or having the same code as the survivor endgame screen.
    • the survivors are never shown to be more than 4 at the campfire, suggesting it's not a shared place but each trial has its own campfire.

another question: what would happen if survivors took turns sleeping? how would they wake up in another trial? they can't just pop out of existance as another survivor is looking at them sleep, right?

  • @Voodoo_Thirsty said:

Because the maps are designed using tiles and tiles happen to be of rectangular shape.

Circular maps or any maps with excessive corners will not only cause balancing issues, but also coding issues that would make things much more difficult for the devs.

anyone with exposed such as ghostface and myers. you're walking around, suddenly you're exposed in a bad position and now you're on the hook. all in 15 seconds.

  • i love how everyone's response is "because it's boring!" but like... it's not boring to me. i have fun camping and watching survivors be helpless for a change. it still takes skill to defend a hook when 3 players are there. and to me that's fun. also "you're only gonna get one kill" you literally have to just click m1 to grab a survivor and now you got a hook and a slug. as long as you dont panick and pre-click it, but if you're used to it, you will rarely miss a grab.

by the way, if you take out one/two survivors this way and they only did a couple gens you can play normally after that since they're doomed. you dont have to camp the entire game. also, if they really do work on gens, they may end up 3 genning or even 4 genning themselves (yeah, it's possible on some maps) since they'll work on the gens farthest from the hook.

basically once you hook then grab you have effectively put two survivors out of the game. from there even if they ignored you, it's just two survivors working on gens, and it takes more time for that than it takes the two survivors dying. if they do come, it's just one or zero survivors on gens. you're inevitably progressing. if you have noed, it's guaranteed 3/4k. of course people will try to deter you from camping by saying "they'll just do gens" "they'll just save" "they'll just cleanse every single totem" riiiight. you can only do one of these, if even that. only a really coordinated swf could play optimally and leave you with just 1k, but they will never do that since it would mean leave their friend to die.

    @I_am_Negan said:

By camping to get your 2K,3K,4K all your doing is rising the kill rate for that killer showing the DEVs that killers are strong not weak and there's nothing wrong with gen speeds.

But you do you I guess.

am i supposed to feel bad? it's not my responsibility to balance the game, it's bvhr's. y'all literally hold anyone accountable for the game's issues except the developers lmao.

as long as it's the most efficient way to play killer, i'll keep doing it. i don't see why i should get bullied and bm'd while also putting myself at a disadvantage by playing in a sub-optimal way. that's not fun for me. once bhvr balances the game i'll play accordingly.

also, i dont see myself as some sort of god player like you all assume, and i can take a loss no problem as long as everyone is polite about it. if the report system actually worked, and bm'ing was punished, i wouldn't bully the survivors. but i guess that the streamers making the "insane outplays, watch him dc!" and all the viewers who try to imitate them and think they're hot ######### bring them more money.

last but no least, it's not my responsibility to make sure the game is fair for the survivors or that they have fun either. im not a babysitter entertaining 4 grown ass adults.

  • that's cool and all, except they don't listen to these complaints at all.

they're also under the false impression that they can only patch the game every 3 months when new content drops.

remember the boil over patch? it was broken but it also improved other perks like power struggle that needed it, and those perks actually started getting used for a while.

now, boil over meta lasted only a week, then it got fixed and everything went back to dh and decisive strike. but imagine if we got a new patch every 2 weeks with changes like that. even if something was broken, you'd have the hope that it would be fixed soon.

while as of now, it's been 6 months and CoH is still busted. and we will probably have to wait the next chapter for any changes.

I did this with sadako once I figured out she's trash. since she's undetectable you don't need to proxy camp cause the survivors will come straight away. once you get another victim you can wait till they die and they'll probably be at 3 gens at most, so you can play normally after that and they have no chance.

Well for me personally, it is incredibly boring as killer to just stand around, doing nothing.

grabbing while unhooking is way more fun of a mind game than looping though. and it gives a bigger reward. you also don't get flashlight spammed in your face at every damn pallet and you get to interact with survivors all the time since eventually they all come like flies to the hook.

i literally get more kills than normal gameplay but with 10% the effort, plus i don't get bm'd as much.

  • that would be cool. as of now we really only get the characters' backstory. I would love to read about how they feel, especially the killers, since they're still there against their will. I wonder what goes through their minds.

Is the issue you're having that Survivors are all spawning separately, or that Survivors spawning onto gens. Because it's pretty hard for Survivors to not spawn near generators at the start of the match. If its the former, yeah, that part can be a bit BS.

I always found it funny how killers have an offering to make them all spawn separately. truly a relic from a different era, with survivors scared of the killer and finding safety in numbers.

    i kinda miss it.

CAN'T stress this enougth sadakos height needs to be fixed form first person persepctive, she's already a weak m1 killer that's made even harder by the stupid half the time can't even see over the terrain and objects to track survivors. I'm not saying boost her physical mesh size but can at least heighten the first person camera up to at least legion/hag height

I like her height because it makes her unique but she's literally unplayable on the corn maps and swamp. you can't see anything.

perhaps a solution akin to the egc being less visible for killers.

it would also be nice to get 3rd person view when projecting cause it's disorienting.

So you know, ranks don't effect matchmaking at all. You'll still get the same people whether you're red rank 1 or you just reset. The only way your matches might be better is because there may be more people playing on reset so you'll have a chance of getting people closer to your MMR.

As for OP, best of luck to you. I got it on my second game but her perks do not do much for you on their own.

people sweat more in the last days to reach iri 1.

I for one can't fathom this too. Why would you play DBD if you suffer from epilepsy? Just boggles my mind.

i dont know how to tell you this but epilectic people are allowed to have hobbies and enjoy videogames too.

"why would people in wheelchairs want to visit a museum if it has stairs with no ramp?"

apparently, saying that you enjoy flashlight clicking = saying that you don't think macros are a problem.

    Yup. In your context? Absolutely.

but they SHOULD. because it's their JOB. And they get PAID for it. the fact that they DONT is literally the entire problem presented in this thread.

Go to Canada, find BHVR's HQ, ask the front desk for the devs, knock on their doors and complain yourself. Cuz they're not and have not for YEARS, listened to anybody's complaints on the forums.

you literally contributed NOTHING to the discussion, you're just trying to divert the attention, and excuse me if i assume it, but i don't see someone doing that unless they benefited from the problem themselves.

There's literally nothing to contribute. IT'S OUT OF OUR HANDS. I repeat.

    IT'S OUT OF OUR HANDS.

I hope that was clear enough for you.

and you accuse me of diverting the attention and benefiting from the said problem? I have never professed nor questioned the legitimacy of the problem people face with this flashlight problem. But that's the causation of the issue.

I'll reiterate again, I'm looking at CORRELATION. Here, I'll even quote the post where I've said this:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2847397#Comment_2847397

I understand the causation for this topic, but looking at correlation, it looks like BHVR is too busy with other stuff and are afraid to tackle the huge mountain of fixes they need to face if they start.

If you're not happy with the correlation, feel free to think otherwise. But at least with me, I have the higher chances of saying "I told you so" in the near future.

"we can't do anything about it"

maybe if you dedicated the same energy that you're spending arguing with me for pointing out a legitimate problem and directed it towards the enablers of said problem, it would be a start. i beg you to stop replying to this thread. if you really think it's useless, then dont engage in discussion, or dont use the forum at all.

But if you have epilepsy there's a bunch of other things in this game that would stop you from playing, one example is the doctor , you would be having to DC everytime it's a doctor as the killer and not only that but survivors would find a way around it, multiple people would start bringing flashlights and chain blinding behind each other to avoid the cooldown, while I can agree macro scripts should be out of the game there shouldn't be a cooldown on flashlights only a engine that detects macro scripts and doesn't start the game until they're off

multiple people would start bringing flashlights and chain blinding behind each other to avoid the cooldown

when we say cooldown, we mean a cooldown for the action of turning on and off the flashlight. basically spamming right click. it can be so small as to affect only the macro users because a normal user can't phisically be that fast.

but the other thing im suggesting is making the flashlight break if spammed mutiple times in a very short span, since you have no excuse to do that in normal gameplay. that would fix not only macros, but toxic survivor behavior, which is the bigger problem that a killer encounters in every single game.

where and when did I accuse you of saying that? please use the quote feature, I'm very curious.

just say you enjoy flashlight clicking and go.

    This part.

You literally asked me a question and answered it yourself in a cynical manner that undermined my integrity without even letting me answer first. Which meant you assumed I was okay with the macros and I in fact, condoned in it for apparently "enjoying flashlight clicking".

on the other hand, you're quite literally admitting to whataboutism, which is exactly what I accused you of.

Accuse me of whatever. I don't work nor represent BHVR. I'm looking at correlations not causations here.

You're trying to get water out of a stone.

there is literally no excuse to not stop a toxic and possibly dangerous feature that takes one day to fix. even if there are bigger problems, I'm sure they could have found a slow day to work on that in 6 entire years.

You're guilty of your own accusations. We are both unaware of what is going internally in BHVR.

Your "I'm sure they could have found a slow day to work on that in 6 entire years." holds as much weight as my "I'm sure they have other more important things to fix first."

apparently, saying that you enjoy flashlight clicking = saying that you don't think macros are a problem. you're basically fighting a strawman. not all flashlight spammers are macro users, but all macro users are flashlight spammers. you dont see this logic though.

It's not a matter of difficulty. They don't CARE about it right now.

but they SHOULD. because it's their JOB. And they get PAID for it. the fact that they DONT is literally the entire problem presented in this thread.

you literally contributed NOTHING to the discussion, you're just trying to divert the attention, and excuse me if i assume it, but i don't see someone doing that unless they benefited from the problem themselves. therefore it's logical to assume you're a toxic, flashlight spamming survivor. anyway, im done replying to you. again, you're contributing nothing except stating the obvious or justifying bhvr's lack of action.

  • at this point I would take a matchmaking system based on amount of hours played.

literally anything but what we have now. I 100% got matched with first time players who even admitted so in post game lobby when I asked them.
