The distinction between the kind of toolboxes is definitely a major reason I've been considering the latter option recently. I'm typically of the opinion that just lowering repair speed as a nerf wouldn't be satisfying for anyone when it comes to toolboxes, but offsetting it with extra charges opens up some interesting synergies without getting too out of hand I think.

Appreciate the insight though, I'm very curious where people would land on this comparison!

I don't know why this hasn't been done honestly. There's such a huge difference in the two distinctly seperate functions they might as well be two different items. I almost never sabo hooks with my Commodius nor do I ever use the related add-ons. I'd have to already be standing next to the hook the killer is heading to for me to even consider. Gen jockeying and saboteuring are pretty different playstyles. I guess maybe it's so the killer doesn't have even more info in the lobby but whatever, you can also do the last second switcheroo.

  • When you determine people are awful and will do bad things when given the opportunity like comms… you dont think people will do bad things when given the opportunity regarding abusing perks or game mechanics.

First off, I don't care nearly as much about in-game abuses as much as real life ones. There's a hard line between the effects of these things. Humping, tbagging, killer "techs", exploitable basekit. It's all pretty whatever. You walk away and forget it. Real life is not so simple. If someone tells some vulnerable teenager to off themselves over a game it could actually affect them. If I had it my way the end game chat would also be gone, or reworked into easily-reportable private messages that have real punishments.

Second, all people are different, and all are complex. One will not do what another would. I'm not going to do what you would do, and vice versa.

Anything i want would benefit me, why would i want something that doesnt benefit me in any way?

The fact that you cant fathom advocating for something unless it benefits you personally says it all. It's called empathy. Is everyone at a Pride parade queer? Is everyone at a feminist protest a woman? I don't need a chat wheel or a fifth perk slot for soloqers. It doesn't benefit me. I want something for a role I barely play, for the sake of the people who are currently playing it.

i play according to the rules of the game and work towards my objective

You love harping on the rules. "As long as its within the law, it acceptable because there won't be a punishment." That aligns with your pro-ephebophilia stance in that Stranger Things post. You stick to rules then, and I'll stick to ethics.

Your reasoning my differ but your actions are no different to a tunneling killer, target the weak link, ignore the strong players that you have seen looping all match and hunt down that weak looper.

The killer is targeting all the survivirs lol. The goal is to kill everyone. Just because I don't brainlessly chase whoever is shaking their butt in my face at the moment doesn't mean I'm gunning for the edge map creeper exclusively. But if I have everyone two-hooked and 3 or 4 gens still up, I have lots of time to find the one who refuses to be seen while their teammates are getting stomped. But I know how much you love false analogies so yeah, sure, pursuing specific players who haven't been hooked is tunneling. Okey dokey.

Do you really expect survivors to run up to killers and take aggro?

Uh yeah, I do. If I'm on a gen with someone on death hook and I see the killer coming, I'm going to blantantly run into view so the killer sees and comes for me. You don't even have to see it from my compassionate stance, see it from your selfish one, because it's just macro. That's someone who's in the match longer to do gens, heal people, and propel the match further. Like I said, hook states and teammates are a shared resource.

this player you are targeting due to not seeing them might have done 4 gens all on their own, unhooked, healed, gave medkit to a team player, placed boons for benefit of the team and you target them because you havnt seen them all match?

Okay? It's still my goal to get everyone. And I'm probably aware of that anyway. I see who has maps, who's likely to be a booner based on where I last saw who and the placement of the totem, I can tell who's unhooking and healing based on where other players are. This is just gamesense. People who do literally nothing at all are not in my matches. That's fresh-install behavior.

And as per my stealth advice i have given previously, know how the aura read/killer instinct works, when its triggered and it will make it much easier to avoid actually being caught when the killer comes over.

I use aura and Killer Instinct. All I need is a general direction and I'll find you. There are only so many bushes, rocks, edgemap walls, and lockers in an area. Some killers have aura add-ons that are basically undodgable. Three quick teleports as Dredge with Lavalier Mic and I have a read on everyone.

Your actions based on assumptions that they are a rat much like a tunneling killers assumptions that every team is SWF swat team so hard tunnels every match. Not that different.

That SWAT team excuse is just that--an excuse. If you're hard tunneling immediately based on no info then that's 100% a you thing. I'm telling you I go by what I see and adjust my actions accordingly. Kinda the opposite, again.

i dont care if the killers are winning.

If they added the term "win rate" to the stat page and put it above "escape rate" with no other adjustments would it change you? I kinda think it would, if for no other reason that it appears first and has the word "win" in it.

Now its 30/50 wins…winning more than losing will increase mmr.

OK yeah, 100 matches and you only gain MMR from 30, while losing in 20, and those gains/losses aren't even. With this math your MMR is going up at a crawl or mostly staying the same. I hate MMR assumptions but I'll make an exception here. I kinda doubt you're gaining much from these killers because I still don't know who is fooled by these tactics. The ones killing you are probably the higher MMR ones. With this math you also gaining a much higher escape rate than what's reflected in your MMR.

  • I wouldn't use the first option. I can power through a Pain Res hit with Deja Vu and Resi. That just doesn't interest me at all. The satisfaction I get from toolboxes is watching the gen progress speed up.

The second could work. I do agree very much there should be a hard distinction between sabo and repair toolboxes. I'd like to see that reflect in their visuals as well. Ngl, as a stacked Commodius toolbox user, if I'm playing killer and I see a lobby of 4 toolbox users, I'm dodging. But if I couod see they were all sabo-only boxes, I wouldn't.

people cant hear me now so how would muting me allow me to abuse comms even they could set it as if a player mutes it then then cant communicate or hear other people. makes no sense, your just giving odd what ifs that defy logic and reasoning. even lying to people means its up to the people to believe me or not same as chat wheel. aura read i cant lie but it will show me where people are so if need them out so i can get hatch it will help me in that way.

Most people are not like me? tell that to the people that abused the anti slug mechanic time and time again resulting in it being scrapped or the people abusing infinite loops years ago which resulted in them being stopped or the amount of killers that would literally face camp and grab any survivor that went for the unhook which they have no removed. give people an opportunity and they will use it in ways you least expect. It always puzzles me that you have this pessimistic view that people are toxic and use comms to shout slurs so much that your against comms for solo but you also seem to have this conflicting thing that most people are honourable players that wouldnt abuse certain things even when they can. its very conflicting points of view. are people scummy or not? if not then whats the big deal with comms? if they are then you should be thanking me for pointing out the potential flaws in suggestions mentioned and how i would be able to use them much to your dislike.

if win con was changed it wouldnt change the fact that people have personal challenges. if win con changes and no one has personal challenges, no hatch (why have hatch where 1 person can escape if its a team win/loss)…then yes things might be different but you creating a whole dofferent game. Like if i said what if survivors had weapons to attack the killers and defend themselves? its a big change but its not what dbd is no matter how much you want it to be ad the more you suggest dramatic changes the effect not just a little part but the whole game then you are basically saying you want to play a different game to dbd.

how i would use basekit kindred? i would stay on gens like a good boy, people can see im not hiding behind a rock im contributing to the team. if people decide to throw me under the bus, the one person doing gens then it would be a bad move for them because im often the only one doing gens. without me gens often dont get done. or i can make it look like im going for save but cant quite make it…. stealth is being sneaking, unseen, im good at deception, i can make it seem like im doing one thing but im actually doing something else. like heading to the gen but im actually not looking for a gen im looking for a totem for my challenge. eve when in chase i find the best way is to lose line of sight, use misdirection to confuse the killer so they lose me. when i say im a stealth player i mean im a stealth player, even when the killer has an aura read on me i can manage. trick is to not raise suspicion, not to look like a rat in the corner, do the objective….gens, totems, stuns, whatever that may be. once again you seem to jump to the hide behind a rock thing which is not stealth…..or i can just go afk and killers like you will leave me alone for a while lol who needs stealth when i play dead?

all of this is a non issue because its all a fantasy, the win con wont change, stealth will not be removed from the game any more than tunneling will. nerfed maybe but not removed and as long as its not removed i will find a way to maintain my stealth play. IF the game changes that drastically then might as well give survivors weapons or maybe make it 4 v 4 game….survivors v killers.

Personally i rather think about how the game is and adapt to that. any changes that happen, im sure i will adapt as i always have. its more constructive then reinventing the game from the ground up to form a perfect game in the hope to snuff out playstyles you dont agree with because it just simply wont happen. But you are free to dream.

It always puzzles me that you have this pessimistic view that people are toxic and use comms to shout slurs so much that your against comms for solo but you also seem to have this conflicting thing that most people are honourable players that wouldnt abuse certain things even when they can. its very conflicting points of view.

It's almost as though people are complex and different and no one is one-note. Anyone who's spent any lengthy time on open VC knows how it gets. Maybe you think its funny and fine when racist, sexist, and homophoboc slurs get hurled left and right but many do not. And it will be just like the chat. It'll affect how people view the game and it's playerbase, and these views are responsible for a lot of the bad attitudes in this game. You yourself are tilted by tbagging, the goofiest, most immature thing in this game. People on comms are infinitely worse than some mass of pixels doing squats.

    are people scummy or not?

People are mostly bad. I don't trust anyone. But I'm not going to use people as rungs on my ladder to success. People will be how they will but preemptive betrayal and deception aren't aligned with my personal moral code and stupid teammates aren't going to change that. Assuming every single person is garbage and treating them as such lacks nuance. This is also just a video game. If you can't be decent in something this stupid I don't know where you can be decent.

if they are then you should be thanking me for pointing out the potential flaws in suggestions mentioned and how i would be able to use them much to your dislike.

I assume anything you want benefits you and you alone. You've given me zero reason to feel otherwise. I also don't really think there's isn't anything you wouldn't manipulate in your favor but luckily I only rarely see anyone acting like you in-game, so the game doesn't need to revolve around that sort of behavior. You and I arguing for an audience of no one isn't deciding what direction this game is going in.

you are basically saying you want to play a different game to dbd.

Talk about the the pot calling the kettle black. You've been told by mutiple people that you're treating the game as something totally different than what we have. This is no longer the creepy, tense, hide-and-seek horror game you wish it to be. Comms are also the antithesis of that isolated experience you seem so proud and desiring of, so that also makes no sense.

i would stay on gens like a good boy, people can see im not hiding behind a rock im contributing to the team.

If one's on hook, one's in chase, and two are on gens, one of those on gens has to go for the unhook. If you show a pattern in a match of never going for unhooks while sitting on a gen or slinking about pretending the killer is nearby people who aren't dumb will get your number. Many players are vigilant in regards to rats. You're playing with duos and trios too. One dies, they spectate and keep their buddies updated on your behavior.

if people decide to throw me under the bus, the one person doing gens then it would be a bad move for them because im often the only one doing gens.

I continue to wonder who these people are you're playing with, both the survivors and killers. I wish the survivors in my killer matches weren't all slamming gens from the get-go.

or i can just go afk and killers like you will leave me alone for a while lol who needs stealth when i play dead?

Not all killers are me, but I'm not the opponent you want either. Just because I don't take dishonorable free downs doesn't mean I let people leave. Once you're moving again you're back on the menu. And I'm the last killer you want. I notice when I don't see someone all match. It doesn't matter what they're doing, they aren't taking aggro or sharing hook states, so I'm going to find them.

stealth will not be removed from the game any more than tunneling will

Tunneling will likely see a deincentivization at some point. We're on that track, regardless of the last shoot-downs. Stealth has already had many nerfs. More would likely come, especially if tunneling gets nerfed. Killers getting Killer Instinct after unique hooks is a possibility. And you can't hide from that. Like I said, this is no longer the game you want it to be and it becomes less so as time goes on.

And all I'm really saying is to start by adding a winrate to the stat page. It's just more data, after all. My win rates would probably be fairly close to my ER and KR. Most are probably like that. Only some will have large discrepancies.

its more constructive then reinventing the game from the ground up to form a perfect game in the hope to snuff out playstyles you dont agree with because it just simply wont happen.

You're saying this simple change from one stupid, pointless number to another would 'snuff out' your playstyle? Is your percentage the sole motivation for playing this game?

The best players in this game play as a team. The comp players, the upper MMR. These people want everyone out. They want to actually beat the killer. You can talk about how good you are all day but the killers are winning in your matches, and the hatch won't raise your MMR and will keep you with easily fooled killers and potato teammates. That's a weird goal, and an even weirder source of pride.

This is what happens when one side is made so ridiculously OP. The losing side just says, "well, might as well cheat cause the devs won't give us a fair chance to win". In other words, the killer mains brought this upon themselves. All the survivors they tunnel out and abuse cheese tactics against…well now you end up in high MMR facing the best of the best and cheaters. This is called karma. And for the record, no I don't cheat, but if a Blight/Ghoul/<insert name of broken sweaty cheese tactic abusing killer here> gets cheated against I really do not care at this point and will not be reporting them since killer mains are already using political lobbying to skew the balance in their favor.

Killer-players cheat too. This isn't an us vs them issue. Stop trolling for reactions.

Not always. But since killer is the power role you have to screw up worst in most cases to lose against opponents of equal skill level.

Of equal skill level is the key phrase. Having all five players be at equal skill level is unlikely, and the MMR system being based on just kills and escapes--which aren't necessarily a judge of true skill--is inherently flawed to begin with, even when the matching does what it's supposed to. Matchmaking is a bigger issue than anything else in this game's balance.

We're these people in the screenshot a poor match for me? Yeah, I'd say so. Do I also get matched to sweaty 4mans that I feel are above where I'm at? Absolutely. But that's the game we have right now. The whole point of that convo was that there should be a way for people to feel less beaten down and hopeless in bad matches for the sake of player morale, or to have some sort of comeback mechanics in play.

you have to really screw up badly as killer for that to happen. any average killer should get their first hook before a single gen pops with the current game balance.

So if the killer does bad it's always their fault but if the survivors do bad it's always the game's balance?

  • @jedimaster505 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4041491#Comment_4041491

You have 4-5 hooks with 5 gens because the game is terribly balanced in favor of killer.

So what about when 3 gens pop and there's no hook? Is the game favoring survivors, or is the killer bad? Or is there a whole spectrum of options in between?

  • I agree wholeheartedly with this, and this is why:

    • Getting moried used to be a surprise because the killer had to bring an offering. This made them rarer and more interesting. The end-game mori has made them boring and repetitive. They might actually be thee most boring and repetitive thing in this whole game for me at this point.
    • The abandon feature performs this action, but it also removes the match from the survivors personal stats, inflating their ER by deleting a death. This needs to be fixed but there seems to be no inclination to do so, so I'd much rather a skip option that gives us proper stats.
    • Almost everyone abandons during them anyway, so who cares if the wording is changed from 'abandon' to 'skip'?

I personally stopped mori-ing the last survivor in my killer matches months ago. They're ugly and lame to me too and I also don't want to watch them. The only time I do it now is if there's no convenient hook around because it's just quicker. And I wish I could skip it as well.

The only reason I can really think to defend the mori-watching seems to be from killers who want to rub the win in someone's face.

  • @Garboface said:

I am duly ashamed at your flex of benevolence. Direct me to the nearest corner as I wish to bury my face.

Joke removed as it was obviously just too much for some folks. A lack of humor being a long standing trait of those of a certain belief system.

Seriously though, get over yourself. It was a joke. You think I was inferring I hadn't done the same thing? If anything, I was laughing at being new. Yes, I was new at one time...if that helps.

What belief system is that? Decency? Making a joke at someone else's expense is bullying. Make it at your own expense if that's your intent.

  • I think they're keeping it fast and that's mostly what matters. We'll see what they have in-store for the upcoming changes. At least being able to opt for a more accurate match and wait longer would be nice, but the criteria for what raises you in MMR is too simplistic as is for decent matching to occur anyway.

  • @Nazzzak said:

"you need survivors to have a reason to continue participating in the game"

That's the crux of it. But i do think, as you mention, it might be too late. I don't think the game is retaining new players at a high enough rate to enable any significant culture shift, which leaves alot of us old and jaded players. Alot of people don't take well to change and are set in their ways. Even if a change might help the health and longevity of this game we all enjoy, people would still stamp their feet and refuse to budge.

I think this is a huge part of it, just a general resistance to change.

if your doing ok thats great, we all have our own ways of playing that works.

it doesnt matter that your not in a 4man swf. even 2man swf means half the team is swf which means there is less chance of getting teamed with a bad solo player. it also means 3 man swf that just go into matches to grief like sabo squads are out of the question because your in a 2 man swf.

You claim to play solo and claim to do ok and also claim to know how bad it is but everything you say says the opposite. you say you prefer SWF, you say you avoid solo, you dont want solo to have comms, you want team win/loss condition, you think aura read wouldnt help people be toxic. literally everything you say is pro SWF and bad for solo so i think my confusion on where you are coming is understandable. Even when the option to tuen comms off so you dont have slurs in your ear, you still find ways to deny soloq something but support the use in SWF.

i probably do much worse in your eyes yes lol i learnt from other soloq players. However, i advocate for game mechanics that cant be abused by either side. Have you noticed all suggestions i debunk are things i openly say how i can use it in a way you disagree with? its to make sure these things dont go through so people like me cant do what i would do. when you suggest something that i cant find a loop hole for then your on the right track. i have already said how i would use aura read in a way you disagree with, you think its a good idea adding that knowing how it can and would be used by me?

if standing behind a rock doesnt help me improve then i wouldnt be able to loop the killer AND use stealth. its not one or the other people can do both which is what makes a good survivor not just a one trick pony that can only stealth or only loop and have no back up for when that playstyle fails.

like i said, you can consider what you want a win or loss….consider it a team win condition. nothing wrong with that, but we all know thats not really true and its no different than saying if i last 20sec in a chase i consider it a win. so you can consider most of my matches a loss, doesnt mean they are losses and the amount of people that want the stats tracker to show accurate results says they do care about escape rates, wins and stats not just what they consider a win or loss.

Like i said, these changes will never go through….team win con for reasons i have already said…a complete overhaul of the game from top to bottom. We all know bhvr will not be doing that based on the patchwork bandaids they keep putting out there. They would sooner make a dbd2 than change the entire game. And aura read would be used by people like me in ways you dont like, so add them, dont add them im good either way, would you be good knowing im using it in a bad way especially if im in your match? not likely

However, i advocate for game mechanics that cant be abused by either side.

Like what? Comms? Yeah you sure can't lie to people then mute them as you betray them. 100% not abusable.

i have already said how i would use aura read in a way you disagree with, you think its a good idea adding that knowing how it can and would be used by me?

Most people aren't like you. This is the same as people complaining about players abusing post unhook protections. The vast majority won't, but because a few will, we can't have anything. This is how nothing gets done. And people wouldn't abuse Bond if the wincon was different. If hook states are essentially a shared resource, you'd only be hurting yourself. It's also not as though scummy people can't run Bond already.

But please tell me how you'd abuse basekit Kindred. If anything, it would put you on blast every time someone gets hooked and you're standing still behind that rock.

but we all know thats not really true

If the killer won it stands to reason your TEAM lost. If they hadn't made that God forsaken stat page, we would have no uniform measurement unit. And as you you know, the stats are wrong if you use abandon, which you said you do, so cool fake stats, I guess.

the amount of people that want the stats tracker to show accurate results says they do care about escape rates, wins and stats not just what they consider a win or loss.

I've been one of the loudest people in regards to the stat page being fixed to get rid of these vanity awards for abandoning. It's not that I care about the numbers, it's that they're the only official measurements we have and they're completely wrong for survivor. If I had it my way, the page would be removed. Stats are stupid. They tell you nothing about what happened in a match or how the match felt, but they're currently all we have to reference.

would you be good knowing im using it in a bad way especially if im in your match?

Goes both ways. Bond is great for rat hunting. And if both of us have it, I'd see you coming too, wouldn't I? First time I see someone with no hooks running right for me with the killer on their heels I immediately know what I'm dealing with. See how the matches go for you when your betrayals become obvious from the get-go.

i know you have played solo, but now you dont….why? because you have said you dont want awful team mates. you must know how rough soloq can be to actively avoid it and prefer swf. your even against comms in solo because you think people will be toxic for the sake of being toxic. Yet you think aura read would help and no help people to be toxic? maybe the people taking no aggro all match struggle with looping? leading the killer to them sets them up to be downed fast and potentially tunneled out. It makes sense so avoid the killer if you cant loop that well…only loop when you have to but your in the mindset that anyone avoiding the killer is a rat and should be snuffed out or forced to take chase which is utter nonsense and part of the problem with soloq and part of why killers tunnel. no need to even look for the weak link, the team has lead the killer to them, easy down.

you avoid people like me? the ones doing gens? not the greifers? not the cheaters? not the awful people that cant loop more than 10 seconds? i think that says a lot to be honest, thats what come across as bitter. there are far worse players than me out there lol im the one doing gens when no one else is, im the one making the killer look around for me wasting their time, not being tunneled out instantly. But im the type of player you want to avoid.

im winning my matches, i dont need swf to win, i dont need auras to win, i dont need perks to win, i dont need comms to win. you dont seem particularly happy that other people are doing fine to be honest. very anti tunneling, anti stealth, anti soloq in general by suggesting people should win or lose as a team knowing full well soloq players can often get awful team mates so these people with bad team mates end up losing because the rest of the team is bad. You even said about people giving up often in matches…. these people will give up over anything, i have seen it with maps they dont like. These people that give up should impact the whole team because they dont like the map? you dont see it as much in swf because atleast some of the team are on the same page but it is seen much more in solo and when playing killer, you must have seen players give up when you as killer have done nothing to prompt it. you cant seriously think that giving people aura read and making it a team win/loss will suddenly make people play like a team when they genuinely dont care if they win or loss. change the win con and you will not find improvement. if i have a challenge to do totems or do gens and im solo player, im using that aura read to bring the killer to the injured survivor on a gen so i can do my challenge. it will not make me any more of a team player by changing the win con. the team might lose, but i wouldnt care because MY goal is still not the same as the teams goal. Think of me in your SWF team on comms….my playstyle, using info gained from you so i can throw you all under the bus last min so i can get my hatch challenge. obviously i would be kicked out of that SWF team instantly….that would be what happens in soloq, match after match.

This is why dbd will never have a team win/loss condition. To change it would mean changing the entire game, perks, challenges, hatch, Everything. You can wish for it and hope for it but i can say right now it will never happen.

i know you have played solo, but now you dont

I played some solo to get that last cosmetics during Haunted by Daylight. I played some last season to wrap up my iri for the month. I'm playing some now to get used to my new Steamdeck. Incidentally, that's a new-to-me device with different controls and a small screen and I'm on my regular MMR getting p100 killers, yet I'm still managing a 50% ER. So it's going okay.

because you have said you dont want awful team mates.

So, again, I don't play in just 4mans. I get plenty of randoms, many are awful. I am not outside of this world.

you must know how rough soloq can be to actively avoid it and prefer swf.

Do I not play soloq and not understand it or do I know how it is because I've played it? Choose.

your even against comms in solo because you think people will be toxic for the sake of being toxic. Yet you think aura read would help and no help people to be toxic?

I'd rather someone drag the killler to me in the world of the game than scream slurs into my actual ears, yes.

It makes sense so avoid the killer if you cant loop that well

You just said people should take opportunities to improve at looping. If all you do is stand behind a rock the second the TR starts you are never getting better at anything. I myself don't loop well, but if three people are on death hook it's time for me to take a hook. If someone is being tunneled I will stand in front of the killer and give them a free down if I have to to try to deter them. Hook states are a resource.

i think that says a lot to be honest, thats what come across as bitter.

Miss me with the innocent act. I've seen what you have to say. You call teammates tools, want the chat wheel to trick them into going towards the killer, and just recently said you pretend to be helpful so you can surprise people with a betrayal. You will never advocate for anything that doesn't benefit you. You just now implied what you would do with free aura. And I'm pretty sure what you actually do is twice as bad as you say because you of all people know there's rules in this forum and this game.

you dont seem particularly happy that other people are doing fine to be honest.

I know its realllllly hard for you to grasp this, but some people don't care how may notches on the escape side of the board you have. As far as I'm concerned, when I get hatch or I go through the gate alone, thats a loss. So, to me, you're probably loosing most of your matches. Most people play games of zero importance for the experience, not the stats. If anything, I just feel really bad for your teammates.

the team might lose, but i wouldnt care because MY goal is still not the same as the teams goal.

The game would change, yes. Quests would change, playstyles would change. Many soloq players are deeply discontent. The fact that the happy ones are the selfish and snake-like is pretty telling about the state of the experience.

when stealth fails i have to loop…. being in these situations has helped me to get good at both stealth and chases. i rather avoid chases and do gens than avoid gens and get chased. thats just common sense in a game where the objective is do gens and escape before the killer kills you.

you think griefer and solo players that do challenges like escape via the hatch or do stuns or cleanse totems care about being a team player? they dont. you said it yourself you avoid solo because you dont want awful team mates….even if they try to be team players they can still be bad players as you know.

Basekit kindred or bond….sure, make it easier for griefers to run directly to the people doing gens to sabotage them lol. You say about this SWF being powerful like a myth yet you rarely play solo and everything you advocate for is directly benefiting SWF while not giving solo players a second thought or how it would effect them because you dont play solo. It comes across like your bitter that players like me that actually use their brains and avoid the killer while doing the objective can win but the people that go for chases lose. When you play solo regularly night after night, not just accasionally, you will see why the idea of a team win/loss would not go down well for you as a solo player.

You say about this SWF being powerful like a myth yet you rarely play solo and everything you advocate for is directly benefiting SWF while not giving solo players a second thought or how it would effect them because you dont play solo.

For the thousandth time, I have played plenty of soloq. I didn't come to this game knowing anyone who played it. How is basekit Kindred or Bond advocating for SWF? That's a solo buff. I've even said soloqers should have a limited fifth perk slot to choose a team info perk. I use Empathy in all my matches, solo or SWF. This is me advocating for giving soloqers something while gaining nothing if I'm partying up. I've also favored the chat wheel option, as well as in-game tips to help with macro. I don't need any of that.

you said it yourself you avoid solo because you dont want awful team mates….even if they try to be team players they can still be bad players as you know.

It's you. You're the teammate I'm trying to avoid.

It comes across like your bitter that players like me that actually use their brains and avoid the killer while doing the objective can win but the people that go for chases lose.

Me, bitter? I'm quite happy with my situation right now. My killer and survivor stats are fine, my matches are fun, I have a good time playing with people. You, however, seem pretty obsessed with SWF since you can't stop talking about it. Sorry people have friends? Not everyone gets pleasure from existing in isolation and watching others fail. I don't want the hatch, I want the whole team out.

you think griefer and solo players that do challenges like escape via the hatch or do stuns or cleanse totems care about being a team player?

Are they really griefers or on they on death hook and trying to unload the killer onto someone who's taken zero aggro the whole match and has no hooks? There aren't all these trolls running around throwing matches on purpose. If you're encountering an inordinate amount, it's probably because of how you play. People don't like rats. I've had many a killer let me go because I was active and someone else was ratting. I just had a Wesker the other day let me and my duomate finish 4 gens after I went for an unhook while injured because he realized the other remaining survivor was ratting. People will do a whole 180 because of rats.

When you play solo regularly night after night, not just accasionally, you will see why the idea of a team win/loss would not go down well for you as a solo player.

I've done plenty of that and that's why I want it. I want a reason to solo. Change the wincon and you chage the whole game.

There is something to make you feel your time isnt wasted in every match. its called practice, each match a survivor gets chased is an opportunity to hone those looping skills, practice stealth, learn map layouts, killer powers. There is a lot people can take away from a match if they choose to.

As for the win con….having it as a team win would only benefit SWF. Griefers and people that do challenges or just meme around in a match in soloq would have a much bigger impact if it effected the team as a whole. Currently, if a griefer is intentionally blowing gens or being annoying there is a chance someone on the team can escape even if the rest dont. Make it a team win/loss would mean far fewer wins for the solo players

each match a survivor gets chased is an opportunity to hone those looping skills

Thank you person who actively avoids chase.

As for the win con….having it as a team win would only benefit SWF.

It wouldn't benefit selfishness, that is for sure, but it would make soloq have to be more of a team. It would also have to come with more help for survivors, like basekit Kindred or Bond, but it would be better for the game overall. The best players in this game play as a team. If soloq wants to be like the oh so powerful and mystical SWF then this 1v1v1v1v1 mentality has to go.

I think the problem is the give-up-mentality. I did (and probably still do) see matches as unwinnable too quick.

And there are 3 or 4 people on survivor who need to push for the win even if it looks bad, only one for killer. There are also some killer with a catch-up-mechanic (basement trapper, Twins/Billy slug, etc.) or perks. A clear win on survivor is also boring (people doing only gens), so people tend to go for risky plays to get some excitement.

Bc of that people have more turnaround experience as killer and that motivates to stay in a losing match. Even one down (and three others in an opened exit) can turn around bc of altruism.

As I see it, the problem is half the give-up mentality and half that BHVR is doing nothing about it. Most of the efforts to help the survivor role this last year have been nuked, which is only making people feel worse. Even if every survivor in a bad match digs in, some matches just aren't turning around, and there's nothing to either make you feel otherwise or at least make you feel like your time wasn't wasted. It doesn't help that the survivor wincon is a personal escape and not a team win. Pretty sure we've all had those sessions where the team keeps winning but you're the only one dying. That gets aggravating and the game doesn't reward you in anyway. Even if you're the best player, all you get is a death on your record.

  • Mocking a fresh install. Nice.

I also think there's a factor of expecting something negative to happen, and then reacting the moment there's a trigger. I remember one time when I felt weirdly anxious playing with my name. No one was attacking me personally, but something had made me feel scared, as if I was about to get my feelings hurt. A negative mindset makes people brace for a bad experience. There's no doubt this game is at its best when played with friends, just like how Lethal Company and REPO are built around. Playing DBD solo sometimes feels like playing these games on our own. I felt that after the people I used to play with drifted apart. We could play for hours on end, and I really valued our time.
It made me smile that you found a group of people to play with, and that you're feeling better than before. That's what matters.

I also think there's a factor of expecting something negative to happen, and then reacting the moment there's a trigger.

I can count on my fingers how many times I've DCed but I totally get why people do it because of this exactly. Bad match after bad match and the frustration builds, and as soon as it seems like its gonna be another they give up. They should just not ready up but they keep chasing that good match, since no one wants to end on a bad note.

I think shock turnaround like you said is a good way to describe it. But you also reminded me that there are a lot of different possibilities at play.
I looked back at my games from about a week ago, and from what I remember, in the first match; Kate gave up mid-game and her bot stayed around for a few minutes before Blight caught her.
In the second game, Claudette gave up and Vecna ended up being friendly to her. When I got downed, he waited for Claudette to nod if he should hook me or not, and she nodded yes, which resulted in the two of them escaping together.
In my last match, I'm pretty sure we both had the same teammate multiple times. At this point, I'm starting to think there's no real point in trying to fully analyze what's happening, and that a lot of it might just come down to player mentality. I hope the devs are thinking of adding rewards, or something that will give a good reason to stay until the end.

Mental state is really the number one thing with this game. You can try to cut out emotion and view balance from a completely clinical perspective but that isn't going to work. Where there's humans, there's emotion. I'd venture to say that most people who are unhappy with either role still have stats at the target numbers. It's not the outcomes that matter so much as how the match feels. People want to feel like they had a full experience. As killer, the thing that keeps my mindset from tanking is those shock turnarounds. They are utterly undeserved, but they keep me from feeling beaten down.

Survivor is more complicated, because there's a lot of moving parts.

For me, personally, my mindset is actually quite good right now. That doesn't mean I don't think survivor as a role needs help, but I myself feel possibly the best since I was fresh and new. But four or so months ago my mindset for survivor was at rock bottom. My friends were leaving, my matches were miserable, I was burning out and felt like a punching bag. The thing that changed was making more friends. I played with seven different people yesterday, in three separate sessions. Was there tunneling and slugging and general scuzziness? Yeah. But frustration over cheese tactics can cool very quickly when your friend runs over to slap the killers butt while it's happening. Something disheartening becomes funny. The outcome is the same but how you feel about it isn't. This is why I'm a huge advocate for SWF. It's not about sweaty squads for me, it's about groups of friends having fun.

That's also why I want more for soloq. I'd like a reason to play it as well. More info like basekit Kindred. More in-game tips to develop macro. These aren't game-breaking. They'll just make survivors—especially new and average ones—feel like they have a shot. And yeah, more reason to feel like you accomplished something when things are rough. They had said when the abandon was being introduced there'd be big incentives to stick out rough matches. I don't even know what those were supposed to be. If the only thing they can give us is a free pass to leave whenever things are bad, then the game is not doing a good job with making people happy.

  • Of course, the current model of meta killers didn’t come out of nowhere. They were designed specifically to combat SWFs

What is this assessment based on?

Meanwhile, anyone just trying to have some silly fun with a basic M1 killer or playing average solo-queue matches suffers as collateral damage.

Are you genuinely trying to win as an M1 killer? Are your stats below 60%? Which killers are the issue, exactly?

  • @TicTac said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4041601#Comment_4041601

The shock turnaround for survivor is one really good chase (and the rest of the survivors sitting on gens).

Most of the time it happens for me after a first tunnel out. The killer feels safe and doesnt drop chase in a really good looping spot. Maybe he even tries to get some stylepoints with his power.

ThIs is pretty rare on my end, especially compared to my killer matches, where I get at least one script-flip every session. Even with that good chase, there's a solid chance the killler will at least get a 2k or slug everyone in end game. I've had plenty of matches where I loose momentum and gens start popping even though I have everyone with hook states and someone dead, but this comebacks is usually everyone dead at 1 gen instead of 4.

But I also feel anyone with any sense will drop chase if a gen or two pops with no down.

its pvp the entire concept is player v player….not coop. dbd is rated 17+ so if young kids are playing it thats not on me. i think in uk there are certain platforms that actually require the player to hold an adult account before they can play the game. im proud of winning yes. If people dont care they lost then it makes every complaint about not being able to win void because why complain they cant win if they dont care?

like i said i play to win, i make sure im not the one tunneled out first. If there is one thing i can rely on in dbd its the mindless sometimes idiotic things people can and will do in matches that will result in their death. unhooking too soon, giving up, making too many mistakes, their loss is my gain. i view anything in life the same way. work hard, win, enjoy the satisfaction of my hard work paying off.

Just cause they shouldn't be playing doesn't mean they aren't. The people who you get tilted about tbagging may very well be 12.

Some people care and some don't. You never know what you're getting. That's why I can only care so much. If I were making money streaming, or playing comp where everyone is on the same page, then cool, but until then, it's just a goofy game that I play too much of and not a single thing more.

Gonna take that answer as no, you're not satisfied.

  • @runningguy said:

you might not understand it but some people enjoy winning…at all costs. i do what i need to do to win. the satisfaction i get at the end is whats fun. When the tunneling killer gets 1k and 3 of us walk out the gate because we actually did the objective…thats what i play for. when my team do nothing all match and give up while i get the hatch….thats what i play for.

Yeah, you're right, I do not understand. It's a game, not a war. The people you play with and against are often kids. "At all costs" is a wild approach to gaining internet points that have no value and no one cares about. You're not even playing comp, where people at least have the same mindset. You're proud of one upping players who probably don't even care that they lost.

But if you're the one that gets tunneled and the other three walk out, you're satisfied?

intense players yes, they do think gens are pretty boring but again they are not looking for the win specifically. they looking for fun first and foremost. the fun being the intention to get chased and prevent the killer from hooking. same with the head-on locker teams. a while back there were 3 of them doing it on hawkins and 1 on gen. after i ignored the 3 and went for the one on gens the other 3 straight up DC. No different to sabo squads.

i find gens boring but i crank them out asap if need be because i do what i need to do to win.

You find gens boring but you don't want to engage with any other aspect of the game? What is the point of winning an unfun game?

  • @Anniehere said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4041491#Comment_4041491

Do you feel like this started around a specific point, probably around the pallet density changes, or maybe after one of the last two chapters? If we assume the reason for this behavior is one of those, do you think we'll see any fixes/changes in the mid-chapter?
I feel a bit out of the loop since I've given up Killer altogether, so I can't put my finger on an exact time, but around the Sinister Grace release I noticed a spike in giving up, even against the average killer roster.

I haven't noticed any specific trends. It's been going on for about as long as I can remember. It's usually when things are wildly snowballing in the killer's favor early on. I actually have two examples from just last night:

First was a killer match. I downed someone super fast at the beginning and hooked them. I moved on and found someone else to hook. I then came upon that first person again, on a gen, still injured, and downed them. I was Undetectable and came around a corner, so I'm sure that upset them. They didn't struggle when I carried them and then AFKed under hook. They had two hooks with 5 gens up so they felt hopeless, and I can't blame them. The team could still win, but they knew they're own win was unlikely.

Second was a survivor match with two duos. The other pair were TTVers, and they were also hooked early. They just gave up, and that caused us other two to loose as well.

The problem is a few things. There's no reason to continue if you're heading for either a personal death or a team loss, especially if you've already hit a certain burnout threshold. There's also no chance of a proper comeback in these sorts of scenarios. Case in point, one of my killer matches from last night:

    19b767a211410-screenshotUrl.jpg 19b767a7e5e1-screenshotUrl.jpg

Hooks were spread. No one was tunneled or targeted. Didn't change much from beginning to end. And what do they get for this unpleasant match? No chance of comeback and low scores. The Bill DCed as he was in the dying animation out of what I'd assume was pure frustration. There's just nothing encouraging survivors to carry on. On the flipside, I regularly play as straight trash as killer, get like one or two hooks like a total noob, and end up with a 3k or 4k in end game by some kind of heavenly intervention. It's been my consistent belief that this lack of a shock turnaround on the survivor side is why survivors are more prone to hopelessness.

  • @runningguy said:

try hard aggressive sabo squads is not trying hard to win. quite the opposite actually, if they trying that hard to do that they are not doing gens. A casual killer just looking for fun and meme around shouldnt be able to beat a try hard team that is going for the win like gen rushing teams….people that actually do the objective

Most intense players find sitting on gens uninteresting and not a test of skill. And in my experience, these squads will have one gen jockey with a gen build slamming gens while the others try to do pallet saves and use things like MfT, DH, WGLF, and Soul Guards to waste the killers time with endless Endurance. It can be pretty effective if you aren’t used to dealing with it. But soloqers aren't playing like this.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4041570#Comment_4041570

How could it not be an issue? when casuals can beat a try hard player then what happens what happens when both sides try hard? killers are already losing to casuals that dont really bother so when they get people actually try it tips the balance.

it makes sense that if you want to win you should compete and try. if you dont try to win then you shouldnt be able to win unless both sides are not trying to win,

i think anyone that says they want casual fun matches and be able to mess around, bring whatever perks they want and do whatever they want then complains they never win should accept if they want to have fun and mess around meming, thats fine but you cant expect to win aswel if the killer doesnt want to play the same way as the survivors and just wants to win.

As for what can be done about it? nothing….some will play casually just for fun, some will play competitively and go for the win. people just shouldnt complain about losing if they are not trying hard.

when casuals can beat a try hard player then what happens what happens when both sides try hard?

So it's fine when I as a casual killer beat tryhard aggressive sabo squads, but it's not okay when casual survivors beat killers on the same level as them becuase they're in a party? Again, I'm not likely to beat a killer who is much better than me. I often can't beat ones that are much worse, thanks to cheese tactics.

By not engaging with these people that you consider trying to go next is exactly what tunneling is lol. avoiding survivors to go after someone else….thats the very definition of tunneling. The other thing that amounts to tunneling is the fact that you even say the ones that are afk or dont even bother not only dont get targeted but they can also win by doing so. so essentially you tunnel as a killer without even realising it

The definition of tunneling is targeting one person to repeat-hook them and get rid of them quickly. I'm doing the opposite. If I rehooked this freshly unhooked AFK that would quite literally be tunneling since they were my last hook. I'm going to ignore them and go for the unhooker, as I would whether they were AFK or not. That's what plenty of killers do. I've had many instances where I've stepped away for a second while on hook thinking I had longer only to come back and see the killer do the honorable thing and run right past me. If you're a halfway decent player, you don't need to down someone who's just standing there.

I reenagage with these people once they reengage. And I mean the team can win, not the individual specifically. I know you don't get it, but some of us view survivor as a team effort.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4041538#Comment_4041538

But a killer needs to work their way up to high mmr….during this process they will go against people of all skill levels. the killer will be trying to win. So if there is a team of casuals that are only interested in having fun with the rest of the team, you think they should still be able to win v a killer that is actively trying to win to work towards higher ranks?

Just because you're casual doesn't mean you don't want to win, some people are just trying harder than others. Going against different types of opponenets is part of working your way up, if that's your goal. I go against parties way more intense, aggressive, and coordinated than me as surv and I generally win against these types and I'm not a tryhard. It's not some impossible task. And when I get outplayed, I learn. That's how it goes.

you cant understand that someone that actually wants to win plays differently due to people that dont bother and give up? you said it yourself that you dont play much solo because you dont want useless team mates. you opt to play SWF more so other people are changing the way you play by making you avoid solo.

If people are starving because they refuse to eat the food that is available because they want better food then yes i advocate to make stealing food harsher.

You're right, I don't want useless teammates, but I still play exactly the same in solo as I do in swf. I'm going to unhook, I'm going to take hits, I'm going to give the killer free hooks to try to save a tunnel target. I will try to help people not have a bad time and I will die for it. Playing the way you say you do, being selfish and letting people die on purpose, is exactly why people are so discontent. You're exacerbating what you're complaining about.

And I'm the same as killer. Those under hook AFKs? And the ones who chase me to die? I usually swerve on them, and they generally end up reengaging. They often do well afterwards to. Sometimes they escape too, and that's cool. It's a video game. I'm not trying to make people miserable.

lifting soloq just makes killer in general weaker btw across the board this game breaks and is made way sweatier with swf since voice communication supplements perks like kindred bond aftercare ect and boost efficiency it doesn't help that survivors caused this sweaty meta in the first place by calling for gen regression to get gutted over the years and the 8 kick limit being implemented leading to less variety since survivors in general see this as a 1v1 x 4 instead of a 4v1 but when gen regression and the 8 kick limit get implemented and don't make distinctions between killers (it shouldn't it leads to more complicated and worse balance down the line since the devs can dumpster a killer at any time) but lifting soloq is a bad thing since swf also benefits through these passive buffs to bring up solo a good nerf would be an action speed debuff that increases the more members are in a swf

i also play both sides btw and i mainly play solo the problem with solo is incompetent teammates

but to your point of >everyone should be an A-C killer i personally believe dracula/kaneki/vecna should be the floor for strength so there is more variety than nerfing everyone to skull merchant tier since with your A-C killer list the a tier will be the new s tier and people will demand nerfs till their B-C and killer will be more misrable as a result

Lifting soloq doesn't mean they're gonna instawin. They still have to learn to play decently. The biggest issue this game's players have is gamesense/macro. Soloq needs a better tutorial and in-game tips that are actually useful, about things like smart unhooks and focusing on key gens.

since voice communication supplements perks like kindred bond aftercare ect

i run the same build as solo or swf, which includes Empathy for info. Swf isn't supplementing that for me. I need to know what's happening for myself. But I am 100% an advocate for giving soloqers a fifth perk slot limited to team info perks like the ones you listed. It would help a ton for soloers just to feel less lost. Doesn't mean they're gonna win every match. It would also be something they have that I don't, cause I'd still use a slot for Empathy while others will get it for free. But that's fine.

i also play both sides btw and i mainly play solo the problem with solo is incompetent teammates

So how does nerfing SWF help this? Those people will still be just as bad, you'll just have even more discontent, disgruntled survivors because the way they like to play has been nerfed.

but to your point of >everyone should be an A-C killer i personally believe dracula/kaneki/vecna should be the floor for strength so there is more variety than nerfing everyone to skull merchant tier since with your A-C killer list the a tier will be the new s tier and people will demand nerfs till their B-C and killer will be more misrable as a result

Dracula and Vecna are okayish (though Vecna's fly didn't need a buff) but Ghoul isn't. The amount of low-skill players I see get 4ks with him is stupid. Nurse and Blight at least take some skill to play. If a killer is going to be strong they can't be skill-less too.

Some killlers should stay low and simple because some people want a challenge, and you need killers that are easier to learn. Vecna, for example, is strong but is not that easy for an inexperienced player, since he has quite a lot going on. Dracula as well.

I mean, people will always ask for changes. Doesn't mean they get them, and that shouldn't be a reason to do nothing.

you seem to be jumping the gun lol. im just curious on your take….the "try hards" get a bad rep due to being overly competitive and going for the win. should people that dont really try that hard be able to win matches? And if they dont win, are complaints appropriate?

The reason i ask is because SWF that use call outs and try hard to win can be a dominant force to deal with but they are using everything they can to win. Casuals often say they dont use comms or try hard in SWF…even casual killers that say they meme around and want a relaxed game have said they get frustrated by the try hard players. Doesnt it make sense for the ones that try hard to actually win and the ones that dont really try that hard to lose?

You've heard my take, brother, many times.

That's a bizarre question. If you're a tryhard you'll end up in upper MMR. I couldn't care less what happens up there in psycho town. If it's all comp 4mans with clock callouts and tunneling, slugging killers they can absolutely have one another. The conversation around the game shouldn't be about its tiniest percentile. People in parties should be able to win against people on their levels, same sa anyine else. I'm not going to win against a tunneling p100 Blight whether I'm in a party or not.

But as far as I'm concerned, a comp 4man should be the dominant force in this game if they're all that good, as killers are the dominant force at every other level. The 4mans aren't though, because plenty of killer-players have 80-90% KRs and can clearly deal with these teams.

It is also the reason i think the go next penalty should be harsher to prevent people intentionally giving up in matches. This obviously cant be done while cheaters are running rampant. Clearly people are not having fun based on the DCing or in your matches the giving up…. yet they still start the next match and repeat the whole thing. It would be better if these people were stopped from joining matches so the ones that actually play the game could get team mates that do something. See why i play the way i do? with so many DCing, giving up, going next, is there any wonder why i decided to play selfishly, to play for me? so many times i have gone out of way to unhook someone resulting in myself being hooked instead only to find the player i just unhooked went afk or is trying to go next.

When people are starving, you should advocate for giving them food, not for making the laws against stealing it harsher.

See why i play the way i do?

No I don't, and I never will. I'm the same in solo as I am in a party. Other people don't change me, and I'm not nearly as focused on winning as you are.

should these fun, social SWFs be able to win? And if they dont win, is it ok to complain about it?

Everyone should be "able" to win, whatever that means. I'm really tired of this repetitive, performaitve argument we keep having. My stats are the same when I solo or party up. When my altruistic, team-minded ER is higher than you're self-centered rat one I'll let you know. You don't have much of an argument until then.

pretty much the same thing to me, DC, give up, go next, afk, not bothering to even try and run from the killer. Its possible people have already used their 2 free DC in your matches so they have moved on to afk/go next until they get another 2 free DC

Cool but they're still technically different. People say they see endless DCs. I do not. I see suicides. The suicides are the whole reason I think the DC penalties are stupid. People will always find a way to leave if that's what they want. It'd be much better to make the game less unenjoyable for what's cleary a huge amount of players than to push for more and more penalties, but all people every seem to want in this community is to compound misery.

  • Because SWF comes in a lot of shapes and sizes and blanket nerfs don't make sense. There are far more people partying up for the sake of fun and socializing than there are psycho cordinated teams with clock callouts. The game would make no distinction between extremes, like those psycho teams and two people who added each other in-game from different platforms and have never been on comms. All this would do is make SWF players just as miserable as many soloqers. Communal misery is not a solution. Lifting soloq up is.

You saying "survivors constantly ask for killer buffs" is super biased. I play both. There are killers I absolutely want nerfed, and others I want buffed. Everyone should be an A-C killer. There should be nothing above or below that.

so you do see people go next, afk, DC, not bother….. bit of a U turn from what you said not so long ago

Not at all. What I've said many times is that I have lots of suicides but almost no DCs.

This video showed up right after I read your post.
There's a nerve wracking issue where many players are giving up mid-game. It feels like they still want to play, but the experience has become so miserable that instead of stepping away, they keep pushing through and hoping the next match will be better in a stale meta.

I can't play more than a couple killer matches without people AFKing/sandbagging to go next, and it's always because they feel like the match is hopeless, like when I have 4 or 5 hooks with 5 gens up. There really needs to be something in this game to make a match feel worth playing even if a win is unobtainable.

  • I play as and against Spirit while sometimes using a soundbar. It's fine. Better with a decent headset, sure, but it's not a requirement. You could argue that everything in the game is better with a stronger device, a fancy headset, a high-end OLED monitor/screen, etc. That's just the way it is.

HELL YEAH that's why I just drop one truth bomb after another. red pill all the way exposing the heavily killer sided nature of Dead by Daylight so that we can make Dead by Daylight great again, nerfing one killer at a time until solo Q is saved.

So do you like a challenge, as you said, or do you want killers nerfed until survivor is overly easy? Choose a lane.

  • @jedimaster505 said:

People are citing the stat tracker stats as though they indicate something but as far as I'm aware there's an issue which counts abandons as escapes, which inflates survivor stats and deflates killer stats. Unless the issue has been fixed…

It does not deflate killer stats. Abandons and DCs still count as kills on your personal stats.

    @killer_hugs said:

survivor abandons are not counted as escapes rather they simply aren't counted at all by the official stat tracker; this inflates your overall escape rate. currently i have a survivor with a 76% escape rate because of this on a survivor that i've played over 1600 matches with. just abandon frequently and it won't count your bad games = high escape rate. (this makes me laugh anytime someone cites their high escape rate here as if it means something - it does not.)

This is exactly why I don't take anyones high ERs seriously.

look I'm just standin up for the little guys not everyone is an elite jedi master with 4K hours of hardcore training in solo Q that can decapitate Momoseventh at the drop of a hat. so many innocent survivors are suffering as I type this very sentence there are too many to name and these survivors need a voice so here I am bringing the message to the masses don't crucify the messenger.

OK so you're super good and the problems aren't yours, you're just speaking for all the oppressed mases in some silly video game who also have the ability to make accounts and type, yet you're clearly scared of a 1v1, even though you love a challenge, and you're clearly super skilled. This all makes perfect sense.

I don't like unfair advantages that's why I play the challenging role.

Yet all you've done is complain about that other roles' advantages. Are you sure you like a challenge?

Yall want a 1 v 1 when the game is designed for a 4 v 1 huh…the killer is over 4 times more powerful than a single survivor by design. Let that sink in.

Yeah you'd be be killer. So no problem, right?

  • @jedimaster505 said:

Look, I may be a whistle blower exposing all the killer mains coercing BHVR into favoring their side, but at the end of the day, all I offer is the truth. Take it or leave it. Not a lot of people can handle the cognitive dissonance when I put forth an unbreakable wall of facts exposing just how extremely killer sided Dead by Daylight has become. They expect me to give a politically correct answer like many survivor main streamers do on Twitch that don't want to lose viewers and revenue, so they suck up to the killer mains. I don't do any of that. You just get the real , raw facts. If you can handle the truth, you'll be just fine. If you can't…well, you can always go play Kaneki with 4 slow downs to find some respite.

Take @Shroompy's 1v1 challenge and prove how easy killer is. If it's that killer-sided you should have no trouble winning.

Isnt weave/franklins pretty obious not because of franklins but I think survivors see down the icon of weave perk and they will know for sure if they pick item, Im using this combo to sometimes but you need m1 killer and its two perk slots for one aura read that isnt that crazy if survivors will take in count you have it and play by it (mostly it works on item goblins that rather risk all and die trying to have their item than just leaving it or putting in into corner of the map to make tis perk combo useless).

I wish alien istinct was more viable (the injured guy is now in current meta mostly healed due to fast healing under hooks and killer without good mobility and power to get injures on multiple survivors isnt getting much from it compare to barbecue and from my experience I got more info from barbecue on ghoul than from alien instinct which sucks).

Making them drop or abandon their items is helpful in its own way though. And yeah, there's an icon, but if the item is on the upper floor and they're on the lower they won't know where it is. I often get a drop near a hooked survivor too, which is super helpful, and if they drop an item while looping mind gaming becomes impossible for them. People counter it, but I usually get value from it by then, and I catch them dropping it in the corners a lot too. SWFs counter it better that solos but that's anything.

We would have gotten this but content creators had to doom post and say BHVR is killing dbd cause of survivors actually getting a fair chance

Thanks killer Content creators and big CC you just killed the survivor gameplay experience

Btw did the nerfed “buffed” syringe ever become meta like you guys said it would? It did not? Did you guys exaggerate again and grift again?

It really sucked watching every effort to change or refresh this game get derailed by faux CC outrage over and over. Like we couldn't just keep the fog vials decent?
