  • I don't know why BHVR refuses to remove depips and just make them safety pips. They changed killers getting "entity displeased" to "entity hungers" because seeing "displeased" caused killers to feel worse after a match. Same should be done for depips - getting a negative pip after an already frustrating match or because of variables outside your control causes unnecessary frustration. Just make it 0, +1, and +2. Only exception for a negative pip should be for the player that DCs.

  • I took a break after her release because I had already finished last rift anyway and didn't want to keep playing against her while people were going for Adept. I came back day before this rift started and it was nice, not one Skull Merchant. Now I have back to back matches against her and it's not fun at all. At this point I just commit to a gen, either it gets done or I get killed but either way I'm not stuck in a ridiculously long match because she picked a 3 gen at the start and didn't leave it.

  • Depipping should be removed. The only exception should be DCs.

  • If you want an aura reading perk to see teammates I would go with Aftercare over Empathy if you're unhooking and healing people.

  • It's just the same old vicious circle of the game. Survivors need to focus on gens for any chance of escape. Killers feel the gens are going too quickly so they go harder on the survivors who then go harder on gens so then the killers go harder on the survivors...

In matches where my random teammates actually touch gens I will see first few gens fly while killer gets first down, then it quickly turns into match going killers way and they get 4k or 3k with hatch before last gen or two get finished.

  • Definitely alot of funky hits even though my ping is fine.

  • @Nazzzak said:

Possibly backfill? More experienced killers may have been matched up with them initially but kept dodging after seeing all the P100s. So the game starts to prioritise queue time and throws whoever in to deal with them.

This. I've been seeing tons of killers dodging lobbies the past two days for whatever reason, not just high prestige survivors.

  • Having it be atleast a day for every tier is the way it should be and I'm glad they changed it back.

Last rift when it was only 70 days for 85 tiers I actually grinded to get it done as quickly as possible to make sure I got all the tiers - which resulted in me finishing earlier than normal. So while I played a bunch up front I took a way longer break than I would've if it was just a tier a day goal. Having more days has me play more often throughout the length of the rift because I don't feel rushed to get it all done at once.

  • I just took a month break and don't notice any difference in survivor give up/DC. Feels like there is an increase in survivors purposely screwing over teammates today by unhooking in killers face right when they hook or running killer by teammates working on gens.

  • This is a good prime reward. Not only will you get 1000 auric cells once you reach tier 69 but this rift also has licensed cosmetics on it. I like it.

  • They acknowledged this bug back in March but allowed it to continue for a month instead of using their kill switch. There's over 100 killer perks but they won't kill switch the one that is broken from a bug. At this point I just want a dev to explain how a gen instantly going from 90% to 0 is not game breaking.

Well someone pointed out how david hasn’t gotten any outfits since he came out. Idk if that correlates with eachother. However i dont think the community would react well if they revealed exsiting survivors as trans. I think the twin survivors would have been fine tho. But older characters i dont think so. Like for example kate. I doubt the community would be happy with that one. I would be honest I wouldn’t be happy with that either. I think new character is the way to go for a trans survivor. For being homosexual yeah an existing character can still work. I know it might sound bad but these are just my honest thoughts

David had an outfit during the last holiday event which took place after he came out.

    FIRST_AM_3659_Db_D_WINTER_EVENT_2022_In_Game_3_D_Outfit_GRAPHIC_V3_A_1_1920x1080_d719389559.png

The problem with cosmetics is they keep adding survivors to the game but don't seem to increase the cosmetic budget each year to make up for it. So when they budget for 50 survivor cosmetics, 3 characters each get 10 cosmetics and that leaves the rest getting 1 or none. They (unfortunately) tend to focus on characters that have higher pick rates and Felix being the other "hot male survivor" was already cutting into David's pick rate before his tome came out.

That would be great! And when not holding the run button it should prioritize healing or other non chase stuff - would be great QoL for controller players (don’t ask me how many pallets got dropped because that Meg had to move when she just sat down to get healed)

Oh making it so default the actions and interactions are different buttons instead of the same button would go such a long way.

  • More accessibility options like FOV slider.

Optimization, especially for those on console and low end PC.

Anonymous mode for console players OR in lobbies/game only show character name and have the gamertag on end game screen only.

Have the players go directly into a match instead of prematch lobby so there is less lobby dodging/backfill messing up matchmaking.

Show perks other survivors are running in match. Would be good to know if teammate is running Deliverance.

Have map offerings guarantee not going to specific realm instead of increasing odds to go there.

Remove end game chat, it's not necessary and just breeds toxicity.

Stop putting in challenges that require the rng in game to be in your favor or require swf coordination - many times these cause players on both sides to either play in unfun ways or throw games just to get challenges done.

Remove depips. Only exception should be if players DCs, they can get hit with negative pip.

Adjust BP survivors earn in a match.

Felix has a wife with whom he expects a child, yeah. Going to be a father was a huge part of his release lore and how he ended up in the fog and all.

i did make a list a long time ago in another of these threads, I guess i should get all of them (not that you asked for it, I just felt like redoing that):

Nurse has had a husband and she lost herself completely after his death.

Oni must have had children (at least one son) since Rin is his direct descendant.

Legions Frank and Julie didn’t leave out anything for our imagination in their tome story and are definitely a thing.

Ace is described as a womanizer in some of his cosmetic descriptions.

David has had a girlfriend at some point - this is explained in his ‚coming-out Story‘ as something he tried as he/his parents wouldn’t accept him how he actually is.

Not to mention any licensed characters with confirmed gender/sexuality in their source material.

also plenty of heterosexual characters mentioned in the various backstories as many parents being directly referred to as mother and father etc.

    some interesting tidbits:

Twins (Charlotte and Victor) are conjoined twins - which are pretty much confirmed to have the same biological sex as far as I am aware - maybe an oversight on the writers part, or maybe one of them is trans?

Yui has had a partner mentioned by name in her tome story - though you cant really assume the gender by the mentioned Japanese name - it’s pretty much the only romantical relationship mentioned in lore that’s completely open for interpretation. Also the previously mentioned mobile exclusive that is talking about a crush on a female celebrity.

I'm pretty sure they overlooked the Twins thing. Kind of like the crows in Chile with the Artist. They could end out using their mistake to make one trans so then it looks like they meant to do that. 😂

Yeah, I always wonder why people never bring stuff like this where the devs actually promised something and didn’t deliver up again…

also sad that Q&A streams aren’t a thing anymore where we could ask such questions bc people rather asked questions where we already knew they weren’t able to give any answer

I understand why Q&A streams don't happen anymore (combo of people not liking some devs personalities and some devs not saying the best things when on stream) but I think it would be nice if they could do a Q&A blog. Can just put all those "cannot answer these Qs" as a list instead of wasting time that could be spent on questions they can answer.

Welp back in 2019 they also mentioned a goal of 60 fps minimum across all platforms, among other things.

If you're holding your breath, let it out fam.

Was going to say exactly this.

  • BHVR acknowledged the bug in March but apparently don't think a gen instantly going from 90% to 0 is game breaking enough to kill switch.

  • Was it the only entrance to the room? If so do a bug report. In the past when a killer can block survivors from getting to hooked survivor - like standing on only staircase to second floor or blocking only doorway - the devs have made adjustments so the stairs/doorway is larger so killer couldn't block survivors from getting to the hook.

    >"At this point myself and others have given you multiple reasons why BHVR have decided to pin this post and keep it pinned."

    Nope

    >"There's also multiple pages with explanations why this topic would be pinned."

This is really strange how you are actually saying the truth is out there but I'm going to tell you to look for it rather than give you anything...

    >"It's pretty clear no matter the amount of reasons and explanations we give you"

You really do seem to repeating yourself again and again, perhaps there or was but then perhaps that wasn't the reason I mentioned this... perhaps?

    >", you are just going to ignore them"

Are you seriously not reading my comments?

    >"and respond with "But I don't think it's relevant ""

    Never said that but continue...

    >"or important "

and again, never said that... I feel you aren't reading what I have said

    >"and shouldn't be pinned" because you personally do not like the post.

That is how the Americans say... three strikes?

    >"You are choosing to not fix the personal problem you have with this being a pinned post and dismiss the post so it is no longer pinned for you. Kind of feels like you just want to argue/complain and this post was an easy target for you"

Unlike you I will actually repeat myself again...

Like this post there are many relevant posts that can get pinned such as mental health issues, war, ... I think I also mentioned another one but you are understand what I am saying, there are many important topics yes?.

Now, Pinning time is relevant as in you wouldn't want old BHVR comments from a year old patch. Pinned post need to be time appropriate.

So to try and keep it short, taking these two points into account we seem to have an exception with this post for some reason in that it was relevant and important at the time but for a year to be pinned?

This leads towards many cluttered relevant and important topics being pinned which is all good and well if that is what BHVR wish but that is going to be cluttered and messy without pointout the obviousness of this is a game forum so there should be time relevant posts pinned or at least that is what you'd expect in other forums.

You just want to argue and complain, you've made that perfectly clear.

You can dismiss the pinned post, it's just 2 steps to dismiss the post for yourself.

Step 1: Click on 3 dots at top of post

    Step 2: Click on "Dismiss"

  • Anonymous mode is for PC only.

On console we can only hide the screen names on our screen, so if you were a streamer you can make it so your viewers can't see the other players names but those in game will still see the names.

I wish we could have anonymous mode on console.

  • There should be an FOV slider for accessibility.

  • Problem with this game is instead of having multiple game modes with the killers/perks split up between modes they have them all in one game mode that's already difficult to balance because assym. One killer with specific perks will be OP while other killer with same perk load out will be extremely weak. Same with survivor perks v them, one survivor load out will be OP against specific killers but others will be nearly useless.

Basically we need a DBD 2 with killers/perks(both sides) separated into different modes. Would be much easier to balance different game modes that have specific killers/perks than balancing current DBD where there's too many variables to properly balance it.

Indeed my whole point, why does BHVR think pinning a topic for such a long time with no other important relevant topics pinned.

Just to mention I am not after other important topics to be pinned, this is a game and would prefer pinned threads to be relevant to the game.

At this point myself and others have given you multiple reasons why BHVR have decided to pin this post and keep it pinned. There's also multiple pages with explanations why this topic would be pinned. It's pretty clear no matter the amount of reasons and explanations we give you, you are just going to ignore them and respond with "But I don't think it's relevant or important and shouldn't be pinned" because you personally do not like the post.

You are choosing to not fix the personal problem you have with this being a pinned post and dismiss the post so it is no longer pinned for you. Kind of feels like you just want to argue/complain and this post was an easy target for you.

  • Isn't Dwight American? Be weird for him to wear bandanas for country he isn't from and isn't even part of his heritage.

I think for characters not from America it would be good to have bandana head pieces, or some other cosmetic, with flag where they're from.

    This would be really nice.

Death Grip- somethingsomething steely resolve. Eliminates skill checks while using an item. Retain item when it would otherwise be knocked from your grasp.

This would be good. Could even have the item "lose" a few charges due to "damage" from Franklin's.

  • Because they're inconsistent with what they consider game breaking.

  • Instead of aura which ends up hurting solo q when it comes to slugs/hooks have it instead apply to killers red stain, then it hurts both swf and solo equally.

Would be interesting if it made it so you couldn't see things like pallets/totems until you were close to them or make it like Freddy's pill bottle add on where you don't see the killer if they aren't nearby - although I could see it being bugged and killers/pallets/totems staying invisible.

  • You can't see what the survivor sees when they go down or are on hook. Maybe instead of seeing teammates on gens they are in the basement teabagging and pointing at eachother wasting time. Maybe they have a teammate instantly screw them over at the start of the match. Maybe they have a specific archive challenge they're working on and can tell this isn't the match they'll be able to do it. Maybe you hung out by the hook instead of leaving and they figured you were just going to camp them. There's alot of reasons why a survivor may instantly give up.

Slugging them to "punish" them isn't going to make them change their mind. Either it's going to make them go "knew this match would be bad/waste of time" and they'll go play on their phone waiting to die OR the next match they play they'll take it out on the next set of random teammates who save them from hook and find ways to screw them over so they aren't slugged by killer for giving up. Just kill the survivor and move on instead of thinking you need to "punish" them.

In my post just above to Rizzo explains I see why originally the post had relevancy/representation and know this affects us all in different ways, some more than others but there are other important subjects. When was the last time a post pinned for over a year?

I ignore dismissing posts as my browser will remove any cookies etc when closed.

If we post then pin every post about every important subject then so be it but again that for me would make the forum a mockery as well.

As mentioned before it will be unpinned just after a year but damage has already been done having it pinned for so long BHVR and for the future hope they do not do this about other posts linking to important subjects.

Good news, you can dismiss pinned posts and they'll stay dismissed because it's at an account level not a browser cookie. I've dismissed pinned posts and logged in on other devices with other browsers and they were still dismissed. So again, if a pinned post is something you do not like you can dismiss it.

As I said in my first comment, one of the reasons this post has continued to stay pinned is because it is not only still relevant a year later, it answers a frequently asked question - why does representation matter in DBD? BHVR finds this to be an important topic and wants this post to be pinned on their forums.

Why have they not pinned other posts for a year? There are pinned posts from 2018/2019 in other sections of the forum. Why does it not happen more often? Because there aren't many positive posts that stay relevant like this a year later about a subject BHVR thinks is important.

  • If they want to limit the amount of times DH can be used why not just make it token based? You start with 2 tokens (since that's how many times you can be unhooked) and you don't gain them back. Then it has nothing to do with tunneling, is strictly a chase perk.

Edit to add - Happy about the healing changes, glad the reverted the basekit healing nerf.

  • After their 4 year promise and this post going for 2 years with no real improvements to optimization I think it's confirmed they aren't bothering, especially for the older consoles. Knowing new consoles have experienced performance issues already I'm sure it won't be long before they'll be in same spot - asking for optimization and seeing no improvement, only BHVR saying they're looking into it.

After this it has made me not want to play BHVR games on console because I can't trust that they'll put in effort to optimize the games for the console playerbase. I got the new game for free on ps+ but I won't be downloading it, I've learned my lesson with DBD.

  • Knock Out is the one perk I hate the most in this game. I would definitely trade it for Head On. I would trade it for the strongest survivor perk in the game. I would trade it for old Blastmine, my personal favorite perk in the game.

Knock Out is not a healthy perk. It encourages slugging, especially slugging until bleedout builds. A perk that encourages making it so players can't participate in gameplay for extended periods of time is not a healthy perk for the game.

@bm33 Thank you for replying to my post repeating the words "representation matters", I'm not sure what relevancy that has to do with my comments regarding the OP pinned for almost a year? Many things matter but if they were all pinned then this forum would be cluttered. Finding the word representation is easily searchable in this forum and other places. Pinning something should be to do with current relevancy with current being the key word otherwise if it wasn't current then all relevant posts would be pinned and be clutter.

I explained why this post has been pinned for a year which includes why it's still relevant but you chose to ignore the explanation and rather just focus on my saying "representation matters" 3 times.

You also seem to ignore the fact that you can dismiss pinned posts. If a pinned post is not something you personally care about you can dismiss it to remove what you consider "clutter" from the top of your feed.

  • The cuteness is to hide his demon tendencies. 😂

  • At the very least BHVR should change it so default the action and interaction buttons aren't the same. Unfortunately not only do players get used to using the same button for all actions and interactions, if they go to change it the options menu doesn't clarify what is an action and what is an interaction.

  • Thanks, here's a kitty sleeping.

    _20230404_144652.JPG

  • They really need to kill switch this perk. They acknowledged in the bug report section a week ago that they know about it but still haven't kill switched it. A gen instantly going from almost done to 0 is game breaking. It's a single perk out of 106 killer perks. Why even have a kill switch if not going to use it when things are broken?

  • If you're running information perks I'd go with something that's not BBQ, it's a perk that survivors will counter by hopping in a locker or getting close while you hook. Unless you really need the extra couple seconds on aura reading or you're getting a quick down often thanks to Lethal I would switch it out for some other aura/tracking perk. There's other better aura and tracking perks for killer that will not only eat up Distortion tokens but are also less likely to be easily countered by survivors. Darkness Revealed and No Where to Hide eat up my Distortion tokens because there's no limit to how often the killer can use them, they also are much harder to counter to try and save my tokens. Spies from the Shadows is a slept on tracking perk - the only way to counter this is either urban evade around the map so you don't disturb crows or run Calm Spirit which since they nerfed it you rarely see it. Discordance will let you know the moment multiple survivors are on a gen - which if they're trying to get a gen done quickly at the start is where you want to go for early down and it helps throughout the game.

Wesker is the only killer that I rarely, if ever, need to worry about my Distortion tokens because his terror radius is so big. The times I don't get tokens back is when the Wesker runs a perk that removes the terror radius because I'm oblivious - like Hex Plaything. Hex Plaything is a great perk to counter Distortion because it removes the survivors ability to get back tokens until they find and destroy their hex totem.

  • Second and third tome they gave lore to 2 survivors and 2 killers and all 4 would be guaranteed to have cosmetics in the rift. For some reason after those two tomes they decided to go back to giving lore to only 1 survivor and 1 killer per tome but continued to put in challenges for a second killer and survivor without lore and not guaranteeing rift cosmetics. I think it probably has to do with pick rates - when challenges rely on one killer/survivor and their perks it inflates the killer/survivor pick rates more during that rift time period than if they spread it out between two killers/survivors perks.

Since they put in challenges for 2 survivors and 2 killers I wish they'd go back to giving lore to both as well as guaranteeing cosmetics in the rift for all the characters who have challenges in the tome.

  • I've started where I can hear the killer's terror radius or can see the killer way too many times to count. It's never a good match when that happens.

  • I don't think the surveys are made well. They remind me of the ones you'd get from a student when the teacher doesn't look over the survey/give feedback before they hand them out. It doesn't feel well edited - typos, bad copy paste like asking about new survivors power, and questions/answer options just poorly worded.

You have random % of questions reworded or sections not given to players at all - has nothing to do with previous answers, it's just randomly selected what batch of questions you will/won't get. Usually these are the questions that months later they make changes that surprise people because they didn't get those survey questions.

You get alot of questions that feel like they are designed to give BHVR answer they want rather than a real answer. Then there's alot of the questions that have you using answers that just don't fit the question - which in some cases it feels like it's due to the person making the survey wanting to use every "type" of survey question offered on Survey Monkey rather than sticking only to the ones that work with the questions.

  • They're testing in a closed server where they're all playing nice. They're always coordinated, even when not on comms, because they are playing as a team without that single random in there to sabotage the match.

They had a rarity with McLean who played DBD, both as killer and solo survivor. Most devs aren't playing the game they work on outside working hours.

They could use some of their 60+ fog whisperers that have signed NDAs to run ideas by before the devs put time/resources in and get to point where they aren't going to change/revert their decision. Using the fog whisperers they could easily tell the devs 1. The perk combos that would become issues with new/reworked perks/mechanics. 2. What negative/positive gameplay the new/reworked perks/mechanics would encourage. 3. What would/wouldn't be busted.

  • Playing against him I don't find it fun playing in the dark and the darkness ends up causing eye strain and headaches. Since I don't like playing against him I'm not going to play as him.

  • There's multiple versions of the survey so chance you may get questions others didn't or different versions of same question. This happens even if you answer the identical questions the same, you'll get different ones between surveys. There are 4 different links depending on where you enter the survey from - in the link where it says PSATg theres also PSATi, PSATt, and PSATf.

Different questions/sections I had between 2 surveys so if in a few months there's changes and you think "they never asked" it's more likely you didn't get the questions on your survey.

    1. One survey asks how "useful" new killer perks are, the other asks how "fun" new killer perks are.

    2. One survey asks how "useful" new survivor perks are, the other asks how "fun" they are.

    3. In section about New Chapters on one survey it asks how "exciting" things are for new chapter, the other asks how "important"

    4. One survey asks questions about Eyrie map.

    5. One survey asks about Nurse.

    6. One survey has section titled "Motivations" where it asked about new game mode.

    7. One survey has section "Survivor matches" that focused on hud icons.

    8. One survey had "Horror Images" section where it had questions about disgusting and gorey horror followed by several pages of pictures with questions about them being disgusting/gorey.
