The truth is, that getting bloodlust is not difficult and all you need is not break a pallet or use ability (something u can do w all killers but nurse and scratch meyers) + it takes much shorter then 3gens.

What we will see during event are killers not hitting survivors and just trailing behind them waiting for bloodlust for very very quick chases.

I really wonder what queue times will be, but I am sure it won't be nice. Spawn of droppable pallet will by far not make up to it (even considering how strong that thing is).

The pallet you spawn will instantly break so if you miss the killer there isn't anything blocking them from hitting you.

  • 16 meters isn't that far. It's the same as Kindred. I see plenty of killers hanging out at the edge of my Kindred who have no problem making it back to the hook to either tunnel me out or at the very least trade hooks with the rescuer. Instadown killers have no problem downing the rescuer before they even reach the hook. If you're hanging back enough to not be shown on Kindred you'll probably get more hooks/kills because survivors will be more willing to attempt a save instead of sticking to a gen.

  • Good thing BHVR has been working on a basekit Unbreakable mechanic, increase in slugging will just encourage them to finish up tweaks and release it.

  • I'm not concerned about end game camping, at most I'd just remove healthy hook grabs and make it only be injured hook grabs but that's it. During end game it makes sense killer would camp to secure a kill. It definitely sucks for person on hook to die at end but atleast they played a full match with BP instead of camped at start with no BP.

I do think Bubba does need to be looked at because he isn't impacted at all by the anti-camping and is basically an unstoppable force when it comes to camping. His chainsaw sweep allows him to easily eat through BT and still down the survivor if they unhook themself - he does this already when someone else unhooks the other player, rarely does the unhooked also get away.

Ok, but that would mean everyone needs to run Bond to not do that. If you don't bring it you don't know where your teammates are, it's not malicious that you bring the killer to your teammates while trying to find a loop.

You can tell accidental v on purpose. When they're running by because you happen to be in a strong loop is one thing - wrong place/wrong time happens. It's when the survivors see you on gen and will head straight for you to run right up against you and have killer go after you instead - this is the one that's had an increase. They end up doing it multiple times throughout match too, it's how they lose killer in chase while getting teammates killed.

And none of this information can be used to form a solid opinion without knowing all about the timer as well, which we do not.

This. We have no idea what min/max time it will take to fill the meter. The "fastest" could very well be 55 seconds, just barely enough time to avoid going into second state.

'preciate it. I watched the stream, I don't know how I missed that snippet detailing the mechanics of the event.

Problem with a stream, you hear something and your brain instantly starts thinking of scenarios you may run into live so you miss bits. Then if you want to go back and rewatch what they said you need to try and find like 20 seconds of a hour and a half stream. Atleast with Dev blog it's way easier to reread things they said. I've gone between both goodboykaru's recap post and the transcript of the stream several times to clarify/confirm things.

  • The emergency pallets in the event break immediately, killers don't have to break them at all. 1:26:40 mark.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/375953/please-explain-this-mentality-to-me

If I have a teammate that intentionally brings the killer to me at the beginning, to get the heat off themselves and I get downed and hooked as a result. I will either dc or kill myself on hook.

Example 1: Today..Match starts, I start with Yoichi at kill shack..he immediately starts vaulting in and out the window...I start walking out the door, (I run distortion for a reason)..Nurse appears due to noise, hits me whilst appearing... I turn to run back through door. Yoichi (still standing in kill shack) drops shack pallet as soon as I turn around so Nurse can down me. Nurse, Me/ Palett, Yoichi. I did leave the match. I don't want to play with teammates like that, SoloQ is hard enough.

Plot twist: Played killer two matches after this and got the Yoichi in my lobby. The entity was good to me.

Example 2: Tonight...Match starts, Wesker is immediately in our terror radius..I duck behind rock, Meg has an insta chase..gets injured...and knowing I am ducked behind random rock, brings Wesker to me..he downs and hooks me. Meg is free to leave and heal and continue the match that just started, without injury or hook.

Why do I care about whether they have a balanced match?

The amount of survivors in first chase that run killer directly at teammates is ridiculous. It's happening way more often and it's always at someone on a gen.

  • The previous anniversary cosmetics were all free, no one paid anything for them.

The Claudette and Deathslinger outfits were log in rewards. You didn't even have to play the game to get those - just open game, get log in reward pop up, close game.

David and Wraith were community challenge reward where you also didn't need to play, just hope rest of community reached the goal and you could enter in code after to collect them.

It wasn't until the 6th anniversary tome that you actually had to play the game to get cosmetic pieces, but even then you only had handful of tome challenges to do which was less time consuming and way less frustrating than getting the crowns.

  • So alot of the same triggers we've had for performance issues are now causing people to randomly get kicked from games. As survivor the end game screen shows they DC'd with the killer even though the match is still going and they get hit with a DC penalty. Like with performance issues they're told internet is to blame even though internet is fine.

  • There's a bug report of it happening to people for months now. Looks like over time the number of players it impacts has grown. It started happening to my SWF teammate in November. Some players in that post had it start happening beginning of this year. Seems more join in every so often. If you send support ticket they blame your internet, although it looks like one person in that post after alot of back and forth finally got support to actually say they'll look into it instead of blaming internet. I suggest up voting the bug report so they see there more people are running into this issue.

That's a band-aid solution. You can't suggest running perks to resolve every issue in the game.

It's not an issue that requires a basekit fix since Killers aren't meant to 4k every match just as survivors aren't meant to escape every match. The RNG in one match may favor that survivor but in the next match it may favor the killer. If the last survivor escapes you got a 3k - your kill rate was 75%, BHVRs kill rate goal is 60% so you are above their kill rate goal.

    Then their stream was unclear...

They only showed this image breifly, with parts of it blacked out, and they even made some comment like "you may see that there are some survivor-only chapters and that's because we're bringing in two licensed killers this year."

Either I misheard or they misspoke. Either way, that was the impression I got.

"Next year there will be four new chapters that include killers and in strange twist there will also be two survivor only chapters" 36:50 mark in video.

Proxy camping should still be fine though?

What about standing on the second floor on Gideon not close to stairs but the hooked survivor being just below you? A survivor could take you close to hooks on purpose without you "facecamping"..they have to treat this very carefully. I think it can backfire.

    @GentlemanFridge said:

Bit concerned how this would play out vs a Huntress camping on top of the basement stairs, though.

Her hatchet-M1 combo typically means the survivor can’t even reach the top of the stairs, even with OTR.

Dead by Daylight’s Year 7 Anniversary broadcast has officially wrapped, and as per tradition, we’ve announced several live balance updates slated to arrive throughout the coming months.

    "What about two-story Maps?

As it stands, this system will remain active and function as intended on Maps with multiple floors like The Game or Midwich Elementary School. We’d like to clarify that this may possibly lead to edge cases where a Killer is falsely punished for face-camping, so we will be monitoring this closely following release and adjusting as needed."

  • My main problem with close exits is when the killer can just stand in one spot watching both. Atleast put obstacles/blockers so killer has to move around to see the exit levers/lights. Like when the exits are close on Lery's the killer has to go up and down the hall to see the exit progress, can't just stand in the middle watching both.

  • If you're having trouble getting to the survivor after closing hatch you can run No Way Out. Not only will it block the gate for you but it'll also let you know which exit the survivor was at.

  • Giving killers exposed after reaching bloodlust makes this feel like a lopsided event. It's like when they gave survivors protection in snowmen.

It's already bad enough survivors need to make it to end game to get their event rewards while killers only requirement is "don't DC." Making it so killers get basekit instadowns just by waiting for bloodlust to kick in is going to make what should be a celebratory event miserable for survivors. Killer qs tend to be long during events anyway because you tend to earn more BP as killer, if playing survivor is miserable it's going to make q times for killer even worse during the event.

  • Won't players still need to provide proof in a support ticket? Doesn't sound like that's going away, just that you'll be notified if action was taken.

  • Good thing BHVR has been working on basekit Unbreakable/finisher mori after PTB test feedback so they have a solution if slugging increases to much.

  • New chapter makes me think of the Outer Worlds.

Yeah I went back and forth with BHVR support for weeks and tried all the troubleshooting that they recommended on my end but none of it worked. It has to be an issue with the game itself or servers and it seems they either can’t identify what’s causing it or how to fix it. Anything you say to BHVR support about the DC penalties resulting from this issue garners the same response of “the penalty system is fully automated, we don’t accept appeals, etc”. I had to just stop playing for a week to reset the penalty.

Unfortunately that’s probably the best course of action if you’re already at an hour long penalty. At least then you won’t start getting hit with the 6+ hour penalties in the middle of the anniversary event.

My swf teammate mentioned the DC penalty, got that canned response about DC penalties with trouble shoot first time. Responded troubleshooting didn't work and that his internet wasn't problem, they just repeated the response about DC penalties with it being his internet fault and closed the ticket on him. It's not good that they aren't spending the time to actually get more information from people and trying to fix issue but instead just blaming internet and calling it a day.

I find it strange that even before it got leaked the anniversary stream was supposedly less than a week away and still no announcement. Just seems off to me.

I think originally they maybe were waiting for Playstation to announce their showcase date so they wouldn't happen at same time but then leaks happened.

  • Lots of reasons.

The game itself has kicked them when they wanted to play and if they're in SWF they're now telling their teammates what the killers load out is since that's what happens with game kicking you instead of choosing to DC on purpose. There's a bug report with bunch of likes about this one because it happens to players on multiple platforms and has been around for months. Happens alot at start of match when players lose health state/downed, killer uses power, hex totem cleansed... Basically lots of causes but no fix. Happens frequently to my SWF teammate and he hates it.

They don't like the killer. Maybe it's a Dredge and they don't feel like getting an eye strain migraine. Maybe it's the 5th SM in a row doing 3 gen from start and they don't want yet another 45 minute match.

They see their teammates doing nothing. Once downed they see the auras of couple just teabagging and pointing in the basement or just locker hopping.

Something in real life came up. Maybe pet needs them. Maybe they really need to poop. Maybe UPS is at the door and they need to sign for something.

They're experiencing technical issues in the game so want out so they can restart and fix whatever it is asap.

Once in match they see their ping is crazy high and don't want to play it.

Once in match the see killer getting crazy hits thanks to high ping and don't want to play it.

They had a teammate screw them over and don't want to play with them.

They've had multiple frustrating matches and finally had enough so just quit and go do something not DBD related.

They have an archive challenge and they don't think they'll get it done that match so they want to move on to next match as quickly as possible. Maybe they have "heal x health states of other survivors" but it's a Plague so they aren't going to make any progress that match and don't want to waste time.

Maybe they're just a bad sport that rage quits alot.

  • That'd be cool as long as they added in a filter to make it easier to find charms. Have one for your favorites, new ones in last 30 days, by rarity, etc.

  • The other day I was the last survivor. As killer was carrying me I wiggled, they did the "stop wiggling" signs some killers use for "I'm going to give you hatch" so I stop with not much left to wiggle. They carry me to hatch, shake no, then turn to bring me to nearby hook - probably planning to shut it once I was on hook. I did last bit of wiggle and was able to get hatch.

I wiggle whenever I'm last survivor because of how often the killer will bring you to hatch but drop you far enough away to close it in your face. I'd rather wiggle and get hooked than waste time while killer goes around looking for hatch just to close it in my face.

  • He would be coming out at same mid-chapter as next rift and BHVR did say most recent characters would have the tome focus on them. He would be the most recent character so next rift should definitely be all about him.

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

Either BHVR gave you the wrong version of DBD OR this is one of those posts similar to Scott Jund's Patch 7.0.0 from awhile back.

I think it may be leaks, I saw leaks Twitter account with same screen shots after I saw this post.

  • I'm on ps4, I don't have any changes to my UI. What platform are you on?

  • Getting info in July means he'd be a midchapter release which would be a paragraph stand alone survivor.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

"Find out more July" meaning this isn't the anniversary chapter and is instead a paragraph... Meaning they've just overshadowed their entire anniversary chapter (unless it's something massive like Alien). Nice.

I was thinking the same thing. This means they aren't even going to talk about it during the anniversary stream.

  • Agreed. It's super annoying and unnecessary.

  • SWF teammate kicked again - second time in our game session. Killer had bad ping (was red knife from start of match). SWF teammate was working on a gen, someone else was downed for first down of the match and my SWF teammate was kicked - HUD still showed him on gen even though he was no longer in the match. He was able to tell me the killers load out even though match had just started. SWF teammate called it a night to avoid anymore DC penalties.

  • Just had match with my SWF teammate where he was kicked at the end of the match. Was his second match of the day, first as survivor. He was in a chase after all gens were done, I cleansed the NOED totem that had activated and as soon as the totem exploded he was kicked. He was able to confirm the killers load out before anyone had walked through the exit gate.

  • They should not reward bleed outs, it would encourage slugging over hooks.

DCs hurt survivor adepts too, a survivor DCing makes it much less likely the other survivors will escape to earn their Adept achievement and Killer DC completely denies them. Adept should be changed to earning 4 silver emblems since both sides can get those even with a DC.

  • Only time I see a survivor DC for another to get hatch is when the killer is slugging them for 4k. They chose eating a penalty and moving on over wasting 4 minutes laying on ground doing nothing, so it's not even about giving teammate hatch but rather they don't want to sit there doing nothing.

Just hook the survivor and use sacrifice animation time to make your way over to a common hatch spawn location - odds are that is where the survivor is heading so you can get them then instead of wasting time with a slug.

  • Trapper - the snap of a trap with a scream is the most satisfying thing in the game. Even when I'm a survivor it puts a smile on my face.

  • @HexBooba said:

@bm33 This might not be a server issue it could just be your internet router having lag spikes, check if you or a family member is downloading something while you play

The whole lobby will be 130-150, not just me.

  • My ping will be fine for portion of matches and then I'll start getting 130-150 (sometimes higher). I should be on North East US servers, no idea why it's sending me further away but really wish it wouldn't. It's not like I'm waiting awhile to get a lobby and far server is only one available, it's less than a minute wait. It's been happening for a few weeks, not just today.

  • They've said before they use SBMM now because it has clear win/loss.

If you're a survivor and you die you lost, if you escape you won.

As killer each survivor is treated as a separate win/loss in the match. If you have 2k/2e you have 2 wins and 2 losses.

Ignore the people messaging at the end, they're just being sore winners/losers that'd rather try to rile some stranger up after the match is over instead of moving on to the next round.

Thank you so much for sharing this! It IS encouraging that they've taken a little bit of ownership for the issue.

If they're saying it's an Internet Exchange Point issue, I wonder if we can find any commonality in our locations that might help them pinpoint which players might be being affected (if there is a commonality, of course).

So, for posterity, and because I tried playing a match yesterday (just one!) that also ended in my disconnection when someone got unhooked:

    Platform: PC (Steam)

Lobby Host: East Coast US Server (I am most frequently the lobby host, but I have been disconnected while playing on West Coast hosted lobbies)

    Location: Massachusetts/Boston area

To recreate: Play any match, survivor or killer. Get "Disconnected from Host" error when a server has to validate a health state change, hook state change, or potentially when killer is using power (Wesker charging power, Huntress charging hatchet toss, etc).

Thanks to everyone keeping this thread at the top of the bug reporting forum! This issue is one they could easily brush under the rug and we don't have to accept that. <3

My SWF teammate is on PS4, he's also on east coast US server (NH). He was just kicked from the match while working on gen when Trickster started hitting a random teammate with knives.

  • Trapper and Billy I'd like to see more of, Trapper especially since he's my favorite. I see plenty of Wraith and not a fan, would like to see him way less.

  • Same thing you would've done before they added the rift to DBD - either keep playing DBD or play something else depending on if you need a DBD break or not.

  • I just commit to a gen. Either gen gets done or I'm quickly killed and off to a new match, hopefully not against another SM.

  • 500k BP, 500 Shards, 5 rift fragments. Expires midnight Japan time May 18 (google your local time)

  • In a Q&A that was a couple years ago they said they knew that Daily challenges leaned more towards killer and they were looking into a solution. In that time the only change they've made was increasing the BP on a Daily.

I think they should make it so there are 3 Killer and 3 Survivor daily challenges available so there is always one available no matter what side you play.
