what sort of stats related to that would you want to see?
Is there any chance we could see a stat for player count based on platform and % from each platform that play solo, 2swf, 3swf, and 4swf. Also top 3 killers picked for each platform. Kind of like an updated version of the stats BHVR shared back in 2019. That broke down that info between PS, Xbox and Steam - now can include switch and Epic.

Original BBQ event all survivors still in match got BP from event gen. Current events only Lunar New Year does this - the rest you have to be on the gen or you miss out on event BP.
This is why during most events survivors are left on hooks while teammates do gens - if they leave gen for save they may miss out on event BP. It also builds up alot more frustration during matches - someone runs killer at teammate that's almost done with gen, teammate gets chased off and the one that brought killer over hops on to finish gen and get the event BP.
There's the argument that "if everyone gets BP there will be survivors doing nothing and getting the bonus BP." Personally I think the alternative of missing out because you distracted killer in chase for multiple gens or you were chased off gen that was almost done feels alot worse than maybe someone hiding in a bush gets a little event BP.
The limited event BP on top of it not being much doesn't make this event feel that great. It just feels weirdly stingy when it comes to giving out BP for an event.

I was here to say this! I have a TON of Red Envelopes and Arcane Dowsing Rods just sat in my inventory that I can’t use. As long as I get enough invitations to play one every match, I’m happy. Would rather not have them sat looking at me unused after the event.
Red Envelopes you can atleast use during the next Lunar New Year. The Halloween event was like that but then they started changing the theme of the Halloween event and making new offering to go with it instead of repurposing the previous years.

Yeah, but those complaints were pretty stupid to be honest. Because people would have done Bloodwebs anyway. And they probably got way more BPs out of the use of those Offerings than they "wasted" with those they were not able to use anymore.
I agree, not saying those complaints weren't dumb just that it's probably the reason why.
-
It should be more like the Lunar New Year event - lots of event offerings and all survivors still in match get BP for gens being completed. It's so weird how stingy the devs get when it comes to event BP/offerings.
-
Last Lunar New Year event there were a ton of people complaining about "too many event offerings" in bloodwebs because they could only use them during the event. Wouldn't be surprised if the lack of event offerings in blood webs is thanks to those complaints.
-
Killers ignore bots because bots tend to ignore gens and lead the killer to the other teammates. If the killer hooks a bot it's usually because that person DC'd while being carried. I just let the bots die on hook, they aren't distracting the killer and they aren't helping me escape so I'm not wasting time off a gen to go save them.
-
@tippy2k2 said:
I feel like they've done that before but for whatever reason reverted back to the player needing to finish the gen for it to "count".
No idea why it was changed (unless I just made it up, which is certainly possible but I swear the Halloween Event has it give it to you when gens were done period, not requiring you to do it).
Only Lunar New Year gives BP to everyone. Halloween was worse because it would only have 1 event gen and you had to use offerings to increase the gens, so not only could you miss out on BP from completing gens but you would waste offering too. They atleast changed Halloween event to make all gens event gens but BP is still only if on gen when finished. I've legit complained about this every event and every Lunar New Year say do BP like this for all events. 😂
-
They give everyone event BP when gen pops during the Lunar New Year event. Honestly that is the best event as far as I'm concerned when it comes to earning BP for survivors and I don't know why they don't do the same thing for the other events.
There's nothing more frustrating during an event than getting chased off a gen you had at 95% because teammate ran killer at you only for that same teammate to hop on to finish that gen and get the bonus BP while you get nothing.
It keeps survivors too focused on gens which not only leads the killer to playing more sweaty but more survivors get left on first hook while teammates stay on gens so they don't miss out on event BP.
It also feels pretty bad when you've distracted the killer in chase for multiple gens and you get 0 event BP from it.
Event BP should go to all survivors still in the match, just like the Lunar New Year.
-
The times I've had a bot in my match not only do the bots barely touch gens but they are always running to teammates so killer can just watch them to find the other survivors.
I spectated a bot after dying and they would only hop on a gen with someone, never on their own. They look behind themselves but unless killer is within certain distance they don't change course from running to teammate which has them leading the killer to people. They would run by gens that needed to be worked on and wouldn't hop on a gen until a teammate was on a gen so they could run to that gen. At one point the gen only needed a little bit more to be done when the killer chased off real person that was working on gen with them. The bot didn't hop back on the gen and finish it even though someone was being chased, they just stayed crouch behind a rock until the real player was downed and then the bot went for the unhook.
It makes sense killers wouldn't touch the bots. The bots aren't doing anything to help the team so it's not like they need to worry about pressuring them. They're programmed to miss skill checks both with healing and gens so they're more likely to help than hurt the killer. At this point I prefer my teammates that kill themselves on first hook, atleast they aren't leaving behind a useless bot that just leads the killer to everyone still trying to play the game.
-
I always found it funny when the rumor that SM was supposed to be Predator but BHVR lost license from leaks was being spread that the same people were saying Alien had to be next chapter due to Disney license guy interacting with DBD tweets. Like it made 0 sense why they'd take away one license but be totally cool with another one being released couple months later. 😂
While Predator would be a cool killer his lore would have him hunting the other killers not the survivor roster. To me it always made way more sense to have Skull Merchant as Predator influenced killer since they could have the aspects they like from Predator but change up the lore to kill the survivors.

If Jonesy is running around the map, I will get NOTHING done. 🤣 It will be worse than me sandbagging a game because I don’t want to stop petting Maurice.
Maybe we can get a "pet Jonesy" in game animation 🤔
-
Survivor better be Ripley and hopefully her lobby animation is her snuggling Jonesy.

Thank you for the added information, bm33! We are forwarding this to the Team for their review. Since yesterday I'm personally running Distortion as well to see if I can add more information or clues to this issue for the Team as well.
Just had a match against Deathslinger. Only aura reading perk was Hex Retribution (rest of loadout was Fearmongerer, Distressing, Sloppy, two addons were Rusted Spike and Snake Oil). Randomly lost a token for one of his hooks but not the others. Retribution was cleansed later on in the match after I had already randomly lost that first token.
-
Are they not allowed to wear legendary cosmetics that come out within 2 weeks of the tournament? Because that's basically the same thing.
Wraith is a sore loser to complain about that.
-
No because there are some perks I hate to play with. The POV changing with Monitor and Abuse when going in/out of chase makes me nauseous. I unfortunately got that perk with the tome challenge. I quickly kicked the handful of gens I needed to complete the challenge and then just stood by the door waiting for the survivors to finish the match. Unless there's an option to prevent certain perks from being selected I wouldn't touch a random perk mode.

PS4, I turned crossplay on because even though I surprisingly didn't have bad waits with crossplay off the pool of players became so small there were days I would have multiple matches against a killer player that'd target me every match and slug me until bleed out every time. He streamed and apparently one time I looped him too long or something that was just playing game normal (nothing that'd be considered toxic unless just playing game as survivor is toxic) and apparently it made him mad and hold a grudge. I turned crossplay on and I have yet to cross paths with that killer again. Aside from that one killer I preferred crossplay off, matches were alot more relaxed and everyone I played with/against was in the same boat with performance issues.

Eruption’s aura reading lasts 12 seconds, so you would lose 2 tokens in this case, 1 immediately and then another one 10 seconds later. Is this what happened?
I wasn't counting seconds between down and hook. I've never lost 2 tokens against Eruption, I only lost 1 token the second time I was hit with it that match when killer slugged survivor to chase another. This random loss of a token when killer hooks someone has also happened when the killer isn't running Eruption - the Blight example was because it's only one I remembered all the aura reading he was running because it was most recent.
-
@EQWashu said:
hey bm33,
I do want to ask for some more information:
- Are you able to remember the perks, add-ons, and killers in these matches that might rule things in or out?
It's been different killers. I can't remember every killer it's happened with but its happened with Blight, Dredge, Pig, Sadako, and Huntress.
I haven't really focused on what the exact perks/add ons they were running - I've been seeing if they're running BBQ first and when they aren't I check to see if they're atleast running something for auras which they are (either perks or add ons) they just aren't ones that should cause me to lose a token at the time.
The Blight earlier today is only one I remember because I lost 2 tokens back to back - one I was supposed to lose, the other I randomly lost. The Blight ran Lethal, Eruption, and No Where to Hide as well as the aura add on for seeing nearby survivors when he performs a slam. The match was on Ormond. While I was in the killer shack I first lost a token due to Eruption when they were downed and then I lost another when my teammate was hooked on the complete other side of the map.
It's weirdly inconsistent because it's not every hook. Some matches it will happen with only one hook while others it will happen a few times.

The Christmas in July collection has been released. It's a new separate collection from every other that has been vaulted during last year's holiday season. And no, old cosmetics are not back, everyone assumed so, but there was no confirmation about it. Greed is greed. 🤷♂️
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/91M60UGRBQRN/image.png
Oh thank you for twisting the knife, Kirby. Very cool thing to do. We love FOMO, don't we? 🙄
We had a bunch of holiday cosmetics that were year round and not even that holiday themed that they decided to make time limited. After that I wouldn't be surprised if they say year round now but at end of holiday season these get removed with the other "holiday" cosmetics.
-
It's because they released a new survivor but no new killer. Most people are playing survivor not only to try out the new perks but also get the Adept trophy day 1. Anytime DLC is for one side instead of both the wait for that one side is wicked long.
-
I wish there was a backpack/bag/random accessorie toggle. There's so many outfits that'd be great if you could toggle off that stuff.
I wish they'd stop wirh backpack/bag/random accessorie and stop the assym on clothes.
-
The only time I see a 4 man DC is when the lobby is 4 solos and the killer is doing a slug until bleedout build with Knock Out. I'd rather that killer that wanted to make the survivors miserable waiting on the floor for 4 mimutes have to stay in the match with bots or have normal DC than be rewarded for that gameplay with free DC and move onto next group of survivors to repeat.

I've noticed Holly is a bit chonky and figured this was happening. Now I just need to figure out what to do about it 😅
They sell food dishes that come with an electronic tag, it stays closed and only opens when your cat comes close to it for food. Was made for people with multiple cats to keep one from eating multiple bowls of food.
Nibbi has a bunny friend. Rehabilitator fixed up this bunny's broken leg then let it free on their property. Bunny has decided to stick around and hang out with Nibbi in her outdoor enclosure.

I'm not a fan of most of the unique chase music. I hope that Trapper keeps original music.

First prime contract was for 6 months, then they extended contract for 12 months. Jane's outfit was last month of the 12 month contract and they chose to not extend the contract again.

People have been asking for this for so long and I was honestly surprised it wasn't part of the rework
I was so disappointed when I saw it.
-
I'm hoping if they're removing hook grabs that means they'll also lock in survivors unhooking animation so they can't spam unhook to prevent another survivor from unhooking and griefing the hooked survivor.
-
Yes, basekit increase coop BP to make up for prove coop BP removal.
-
Any time there's a "what would you change about Saboteur" post the #1 answer is "remove the cooldown from unsuccessful sabos" because of how often you may accidently cancel a sabo due to trying to heal near a hook. That is literally the only change needed for it. They don't need the increased toolbox sabo speed and shorter cooldown for tier 1 and 2.
-
When I read the Hangmans Trick change I immediately thought "why are they nerfing this perk?" They'd be better off having it stay showing the aura on all hooks and having sacrifice hooks come back after a certain amount of time to stop hook dead zones like old Hangmans Trick.

Basically if community wants these challenges done, it's best to let survivors contribute to it more, thus play super chill and let them do their stuff while do little to nothing as killer and just farm BPs with cakes.
If they just switched it to silver emblems then both sides could contribute every match. Killers can still kill survivors since survivors can get silver if they die, they just need to stay alive for 9 minutes. It also would make for less sweaty matches.

haven’t see the new requirements yet, but i have hope yet
First one needs 700k, currently it's at 686k. They didn't even adjust it to have it finally be finished. They should've also adjusted the emblem requirements to silver so it's more doable.
The last one for unbroken/devout I really see being a slog to get done even though it's now 75k. For every 1 gold emblem a killer contributes that's 3-4 survivors not being able to contribute to the challenge. It's a really bad challenge for the community when it has the community working against eachother to complete it.
We also have PTB with Nic Cage starting in couple days so that will be portion of the playerbase not even playing on live servers to contribute towards the challenges.
-
I believe today is day off for holiday weekend (Canada Day) so probably won't see anything until tomorrow.
-
I really doubt the community challenges will be done in 9 days when they require gold emblems. The last one for 3 unbroken or devout emblems is not only going to make matches more sweaty but they literally go against eachother. For unbroken you have to escape while devout you have to sacrifice so if a killer contributes 3 gold devout emblems that means there are 9-12 survivors contributing 0 towards the community challenge. A community challenge should be something BOTH sides can contribute each round.
-
It depends on the situation. Depends on what hook the other players are on, how close to the gate the player is hooked, how coordinated the team is playing, if the gate is actually at 99% instead of 95%.
I would say more often than not I've seen a 99 gate cause deaths instead of helping simply because it's solo q and people just aren't well coordinated for it to be successful or alot of times the gate isn't at 99% so it takes more than a tap to open. I've had randoms SO set on 99ing a gate they don't open it as I'm running to it injured on death hook with killer right behind me - had they opened it when they saw me I would've escaped but instead I get killed.
If everyone is on first hook then it makes sense to 99 in case there are hook trades to give you time for saves. If everyone is on death hook or second hook there isn't a reason to 99 because it's not like it's going to buy you that much extra time.

Community challenges shouldn’t be tied to emblems honestly
This. They shouldn't have done emblems, especially not gold emblems.
The community challenges should've been event related like collect invitations.
-
When they started the Prime partnership it was originally only for 6 months, once 6 months was up the renewed contract for a year. Once the year contract was up they probably didn't renew it because there were alot of complaints about what the reward was most months.
-
I wish they didn't make them gold emblem challenges. Feel like that's why it's moving so slow, people don't actually understand what's needed for gold emblems. It's also going to make the matches WAY more sweaty when people are going for the gold unbroken/devout.
Wish the community challenges on second page were more event oriented instead like collect X invitations, activate any invitation effects X times, finish X event gens/hook survivors on X event hooks.
-
Good. I have them all from playing the event and I'm glad they are giving them to those that don't already have them.
-
Remove cooldown if canceled or interrupted. Cooldown should only happen if you successfully sabotage the hook.
-
As survivor I have fun with games that have a good back and forth. Gens are getting done, killer is getting hooks, everyone is getting a chase in for interaction with the killer, killer is leaving hook during match, if killer camps it's only at end to secure a kill, and if they slug it is a very short time because someone is nearby otherwise they hook. When matchmaking gives me not only a decent team but a decent killer that we have a good back and forth it is the fun match I'm hoping for when I play DBD. In those matches the killer could get a 4k and I'd be happy because we had a good back and forth.
If the killer is camping or slugging during the match it tends to not be a fun match - there isn't really a good back/forth and someone is stuck not even playing for portion of the match. If the killer is spending alot of time slugging people it's not a fun match, especially when they are running Knock Out. Not only do I not get to play because I'm on the ground but it feels like a waste of time being stuck in a match where for 4 minutes I'm just waiting to either bleed out or finally get picked up. It's also not fun because as teammate if killer is running Knock Out I feel bad not being able to find my teammate and help them up so they can play.
It's not a fun match when one side doesn't feel like it's making any progress. It feels like bad matchmaking. If the killer is getting 0 hooks or survivors can't complete a gen it's not a fun time. When you have games where it feels like it's just being dragged out (3gen, nonstop mending, slugging, etc.) it's not fun, even if everyone escapes the match feels more like a slog.
As survivor it is not fun when you get matched with teammates that don't help the team - either they just are useless hiding or they spend match screwing over their teammates like always leading killer to teammates. What could've been a good back and forth match is ruined.
I tend to have the most fun against Trapper, Demo, Pig, Blight, and Billy. There are killers I would have fun playing against but their go to playstyle tends to be either slugging or camping. Like Bubba I have fun playing against when he leaves the hook but most Bubbas I face will just camp the first person they down.
-
Diablo 4. If I have to stick with just Diablo 4 and not Diablo as a series: Killer - Lilith, Survivor - Lorath, map - Hell/Spire of Torment.
If entire series probably switch out Lorath for Deckard Cain for survivor and go with Diablo as killer. Would keep Hell as map.
-
This is why I tend to play killer during the events. Only times I've killed anyone either they went to 2nd state on first hook so didn't know they were on death hook, no one saved them from the hook even though I was across the map, they were afk with crows for most of the match, or they wanted to be sacrificed. I just care to get the event cosmetics and some decent BP, I'd rather not play sweaty for rewards. As killer I get to play an entire match for BP and get a reward every match for my first 12 matches. When I play survivor during event I can be removed from early not only missing out on event reward but also get little BP which feels like waste of event offering so it tends to not be much fun on the survivor side.
-
I have a feeling the Slipnot and Iron Maiden cosmetics will be time limited like this. Have license for a year (maybe) and then remove from store.
-
They said new characters will get a rift after release, so the next rift that releases at midchapter will have cosmetics for them - both a new cosmetic and a recolor of that cosmetic. Makes sense to give anniversary cosmetic to characters that (hopefully) won't also be getting cosmetic in upcoming rift
-
Raising Arizona
-
Did you already finish the rift? I could see it being red if you finished the rift so it's indicating you won't be getting them but if they're red even if you haven't finished that's a weird change.
