Well, it's not that great because the servers are terrible.
for all these purposes it is usually that great as most of these aren't entirely server based
dh over a trap? no need to worry about the server

they hate it simply because most people don't like to lose, either if it's because of DH or something else.
I think they hate it because its the strongest and most versitile exhaustion perk in the game
examples of some of its strongest interactions
trapper dh over a trap
nurse dh through a hit and force the nurse to go into 4-5 seconds of fatigue animation
huntress dh and have a hatchet phase through you
hag dh out of a hit from a activated trap and keep going because they are a 110 killer and can't really chase
clown dh for distance to a pallet to counter a well done mindgame or bottle throw
spirit dodge a post phase hit and make distance as she is a 110 and her power is on cooldown
legion stop him from chaining his frenzy for slowdown
demo counter a well placed shred
oni dodge an entire hit and buy like 3 seconds of free running because his power takes a while for both missed attack recovery and starting to demon dash again
deathslinger dodge through a shot at any distance
pyramid head dodge a power hit
blight dodge a rush hit and put him into his powers cooldown
twins dodge a victor hit and kick him
All this in addition for being able to just use it to extend a chase by pressing a single button
Does too much for something you get in a natural course of the game
sprint burst versatility
use it to get to a better spot to start a chase
use it to get away from the hook as the killer returns
use it mid chase by getting it to a low cooldown before letting it cooldown all the way mid chase to get extra distance but most of the time you won't be able to use this one while progressing the game
-
Heres some counters
Use perks such as off the record, distortion, or sole survivor in descending order from best to worst imo
Be within range for bbq
Hide aura with lockers or hide behind a gen and hope he doesn't see the aura
Use spinechill + sprint burst on a gen to tell if he is coming and then walk to stealth away and if he sees you sprint burst away
-
Ah yes the gold ol 1 2 green ranks just to have worse teamates and red rank killers
-
New patches always end in 0 for ptb and chapters or mid-chapters so this must actually be a bug fix patch
-
Wouldn't that be the opposite of the point you should have gotten out of it, if killers have 10 perks that affect gens maybe something is wrong with their speed not survivors have so little so it must not be a problem

Hey,
i play both killer and survivor (surv 70/30 killer) and i get more and more the feeling, that those ultra rare addons are too common. As a prestige 1 huntress, i got 25 iri hatches within 55 bloodweb level and 27 from the purple addon for 2 extra hatches.
This is way too much, if you can even get the white ward / black ward to protect them.
Also i think, that purple addons for survivor are not strong as killer addons. For using a purple flashlight, you still need to know how to flash (since they are patching the flashing with like every update, it gets harder and harder imo). Also the purple and pink medkit addons are not that strong, only in certain situations. The only strong pink addon/item is the key, where you still have to find the hatch and do a certain number of gens before you can use it.
It is good, that they nerfed the moris (for all the survivor addon nerfs) but in my opinion, the iri/purple addons are way to common. In my opinion you should only get one every 5th bloodweb or so.
The addons spices things up, but only from the killer´s side. A pink survivor addon does nearly nothing in comparison.
To use a pink/purple addon you should be in the situation where you really think for yourself : "do i really want to use it now?"
Purple addons not being as good for survivors,
Styptic agent
All 4 key Purple addons
Crystal bead
All of these are really good addons
Examples of purple addons being op for killers
Rust colored egg
Vermillion Webcap
Lifeguard whistle
Ghostfaces addons
Franks Mix tape
Stab Wounds Study
Lock of hair
Vanity Mirror
Z-block
Tuned Carburettor

So meta perks now seem insignificant, compared to the new perk Fast track. Fast track is a perk from a glance quite rubbish right, wrong.
If I'm correct and this perk stacks, this game is now just been destroyed for good.
Perk description:
whenever another survivor is hooked, you main 3 tokens. You consume all tokens after a great skill check on a generator. Each token consumed grants a 1% bonus progression for great skill checks when repairing a generator.
Seems bad right, what if you put this in a team
3 Token x 3 survivors (1 on hook) = 9 tokens.
The max amount of hooks is 11, so 9 tokens x 11 is 99 tokens. so 99% of a gen, I am stupid right, this can't be true...
Not how the math adds up because dead people are getting tokens in your math
max tokens across 4 players is 18 tokens each or 72% of a gen
max tokens across 3 players is 21 tokens each or 63% of a gen
max tokens across 2 players is 24 tokens each or 48% of a gen
max tokens across 1 player is 27 tokens each or 27% of a gen
Total tokens becomes 18+21+24+27 for giving up 4 entire perks slot to hopefully get 90% of a generator done in 4 bursts
problem, this means as you get tokens you entire team is getting slaughtered and you don't get great skillchecks on gens while saving your tokens to get value from 1 perk, effectively you have up to a bnp for an entire perk slot but it takes a while to gain the most value in a single moment and even then it might be too late into the game to save more than yourself
-
Both are decent, the only question is do you have the 1-2 other perks that can make head on much better
if you have quick and quiet unlocked, pick your preference
if you don't have quick and quiet, pick deliverance
if you have both quick and quiet and inner strength, pick head on

Dumb argument. Standing there doing nothing greatly increases the chances of survivors not even getting to open a door. Plus the killer can still find you and kill you, have you heard of BBQ and chilli?, pretty popular perk among killers
Its not nice to call peoples arguments dumb (also probably against forum rules and can / will get you in trouble)
But also some counter points
standing around is very common for low rank matches with newer players to the system not ranking them up for doing so is made to penalize such actions which helps them learn to engage in the gameplay more
as you get higher in ranks the requirements get higher to try and get you to engage in gameplay even more and tries to get you to branch out gameplay such as making you try in the same game to save/heal survivors, complete objectives, and be good in chase
sometimes you just can't manage to get enough of each in matches to rank up even if you escape
onto the other points
while the killer can find you the maps are decently sized and los blockers are everywhere you can usually hide really well if you just try to
bbq only shows your aura when a survivor gets hooked you can either
a be close to the hook
b hide in a locker
c use perks to not show aura
d use aura to throw off killer and double back when it ends
just because they have bbq doesn't mean its the end all be all to stealth

Removing I-Frames basically makes the perk useless since the survivor will always get hit through it. And what’s the point of giving it three uses if it’s going to be an exhaustion perk.
Removing I frames for certain actions only for rn just the bear trap because no you shouldn't be able to ignore a killers power completely especially when they have to go around the map gather their power set it up then watch you just run over it because muh perks
but also the point of giving it limited uses but still having exhaustion would be an internal cooldown because for example if you have 3 tokens with no cooldown its broken beyond belief extending the chase 3 times with no counterplay is absurd,
having a regular cooldown could have problems for people who are really good at looping so if its 40 seconds but you bought 40 seconds because you used it last time it just becomes self fulfilling prophecy of multiple deadhards in the same chase so its even stronger
having an exhaustion cooldown and limited uses seems to be the only way to counterbalance having a strong perk with multiple uses and stretching those uses out over the trial rather than multiple times in a few seconds or multiple times in the same chase
+ having DH and another exhaustion perk would be too strong sprint burst at the start of a chase and dh before it ends to extend it doesn't sound like fun gameplay
-
Its been a good year since I last lobby dodged, the only time I dodge lobbies in current dbd is if I have to use the bathroom but just got into a lobby

Most things in this game aren't skill based. Also what can you do to dead hard to make it not over tuned while also making it not garbage at the same time?
Limit uses, such as having 3 total uses or gain 2 tokens to use it every time you get hooked and lower total exhaustion amount by a bit
remove certain parts of I-frames like no dh over traps
the perk is already way overtuned theres no need to call knocking it down a peg making it garbage when its already far and away one of the best perks in the game
-
@Kellie said:
It honestly isn't much of a problem.
If a survivor dead hards to a pallet or window just abandon the chase.
wot, if a survivor gets a free extension of their chase just abandon the entire chase, that doesn't sound like skill based gameplay to me that just sounds like dead hard is overtuned

The logitech mouse the guy is using has a dpi shift function. At 2500 dpi and 100+ in game sensitivity i could not do the flick rebound the dpi shift on that mouse and instant 180 flick.
Well the question is how are you flicking because there is a technique to it, its not just after pressing m1 you flick there are 3 parts to it
Step 1 Preflick, during the rush preflick so the camera is facing the wall but be ready to m1 before you bump
Step 2 Attack/Main Flick
Step 3 carry momentum and make small adjustments
Most people only think to do step 2 and 3 but without step 1 you can't 180 flick
-
@Freddy96 said:
Its an exploit because to achieve those flicks you have to resort in using macros. I have an 8k dpi mouse and no matter how hard i move my mouse i'll never achieve that. Used mouse driver macro and gg
nah you just break your wrist on your normal sensitivity, 90% of the time it works everytime

Was checking out the steam achievements and noticed something interesting. There's a format
Adept (Killer)
Achieve a merciless victory using only...
Wraith: His 3 unique perks
Twins: Their 3 unique perks
Spirit: Her 3 unique perks
Legion: Their 3 unique perks
Demogorgon: Its 3 unique perks
Plague: Their 3 unique perks
So, Demogorgon shows that they put a little thought into that, it's an alien, no gender. Legion and twins are groups of people, but Plague? Seems to be singular person, they/them pronouns. And Plague is the only one like that.
My guess is that it was a copy paste of the legion and just a lazy mockup that was pushed to final but can't be changed because it can't be changed on all platforms and they are more of an all or nothing dev

Happens, but most parents usually have them adjusted by a doctor so they can live a normal life, many people born this way never find out.

Lol! Another good one haha, keep em coming. “Enjoy the 12 hook game” This thread is great!
Yea, I usually average 12 hook games while being allowed to play slow, its really a nice casual experience, however some people don't enjoy it so I do race with them occasionally, haven't lost in a while on blight
-
Then stop deserving it, if you apply pressure I need to apply pressure, if you want to apply enough pressure to make me tunnel thats on you otherwise enjoy the 12 hook game

To anyone who thinks a certain streamer gives you logical counterplay against the Spirit actually works, I just had a match against a Stridor Spirit. The crouching tech that muffles your sounds, the baiting of window vaults, and dropping pallet mind games did not do jack of anything. Because how am I supposed to be able to do all this kind of stuff against a Spirit who runs Stridor, who basically knows where I am because she can hear me and I can't make out where she is? If you run Iron Will against a Spirit who doesn't use Stridor and know how to use it properly, that one perk instantly destroys what her entire power is. All I'm asking for is the survivor and Spirit both need logical counterplay of some sort to be able to get the one up on each other, and perks such as Iron Will and Stridor should not be able to do that for them. I don't think Spirit needs a nerf of any sort, but I think a rework that keeps her at least a strong killer as well as having actual counterplay on both sides is what people want. I can't make out what sort of rework I would do to Spirit since I don't main her, but people that have big brains can probably give loads of ideas.
Not everything needs "counterplay" what most survivors mean when someone doesn't have counterplay is there is no singular strategy to just remove the killers power.
-
Well it depends,
In a 1v1 blight would crush any legion member
in a 4v1 blight would probably get overwealmed
in a 4v1 indirect flight where a 1v1 4 seperate times I think blight would win

with about 100k average hairs I think you will be fine
but also whats the point of a discussion you won't read this, it is just begging for attention and reminding everyone of something we know is going to be changed

From my understanding (and I havent been that in the loop honestly) is the goal of having and lgtbq character in the game was to have someone players could relate to more. Now having that thrown onto a killer as the only representative in the game not only doesn't achieve what some people want but it also is only associated as something that is "evil" or "bad". It would be different if there were multiple examples in the game but the only example would be risky frankly. I dont think anyone expects a perfect representation all the time in games but a lot of games who have gone similar routes to what tc suggested have had major backlash.
Like I previously mentioned, I dont feel terribly strongly myself but I could see why people would not be okay with it
I could see an issue with it in that way but its still a weird double standard to have to yell for representation then if its given in a way they don't like go back to saying give us representation but not like that.
-
X community needs representation but it can only be represented in a perfect way it can't be represented in any other way for purposes of gameplay or lore, especially when the factor they are a member of X community isn't going to be their entire character while saying due to X factor they can't have a secondary part to their character.

Honestly I could see that going poorly to some if thats the first and only representation in the game. Just would be weird that the first representation would be associated with evil.
I dont feel strongly myself but I could see a lot of people upset about it if it was killer first
thats a weird double standard but ok

How would GhostFace or Myers work out?
The only idea I have for myers is that whenever he's stalking you for a long period of time, you start to hear the music that played in the beginning of the Halloween chapter trailer. It would only activate after he's stalked you for a while, though.
I would say let them phase through breakable walls while using their power
-
Bing bong boy is my choice,
Myers top lunge speed is at 6.9m/s
Wraith can lunge at 10.3m/s? with a post uncloak lunge
assuming they go for a head on first strike Philip is going to cleave Michel with is sharp heavy weapon swinging at 23 mph, being the weapon is usually made of a skull and spine it weights between 6-8 pounds so im going to go with 8 pounds, this means we get an energy of 191 joules directed at the sharp bit of his weapon, so a lot of force in one condensed spot
that is enough to fracture myers skull on impact and probably do heavy damage anywhere else, a good bonk to the head at the start of the fight would probably put the wraith so far ahead that Myers wouldn't be able to keep up, a few more good clean hits from wraith and myers would be down for the count
-
Myers weakness is no map mobility, and power that requires survivors to give it to him
What does this mean for the survivor
Kill can't get anywhere fast so you can pressure multiple spaced gens without them being able to do much
But also it means that your team (usually dependent on addons) having 1 or more weak members means that myers can get his power and snowball really early
counter is to play smart and spaced as a team to prevent snowball and take advantage of his lack of mobility + standard looping because he can't avoid looping with his power

I try to not let it bother me. But when they realize I’m not a good killer then the toxicity comes out cause they can run circles around me. I’ve done some good mind games before so I know not to just follow the survivor constantly in a straight line.
One of the shortcomings of dbd is the difference in killers, some can be bullied relentlessly by survivors and some are given all the cards, your best bet is to try and enjoy the later half of killers who happen to hold more tricks up their sleeves than the survivors can usually deal with
some of the better killers for not getting bullied (as long as you are good at them)
Spirit, Nurse, Blight, Oni (albeit if you can't get the first hit bullying comes next) billy, bubba, freddy, all tend to be harder to bully then a traditional killer, such as legion or trapper
some of them of course are more fun than others (from most to least imo)
Blight, Oni, Nurse, Spirit, Billy, Bubba, Freddy
I would recommend picking one of the easy ones from this list
Spirit, Bubba, Freddy
And one of the harder ones
Blight, Oni, Nurse, Billy
and getting decent at one of each that way you have a decent killer for casual matches and an even stronger killer for less casual matches
this should help reduce the amount of bullying as they are all solid options that can give decent to incredible results
Trust me its much harder to bully a good blight than it is a great trapper and given enough time blight can run circles that trapper could only dream of achieving

It was a Nurse. There was no approaching. She was just there the second I worked on it
Nurse has a 32 meter terror radius and can only blink up to 20 meters in one blink without addons, unless it was a nurse at the edge of her terror radius using thrill of the hunt and double range addons it was highly unlikely that you didn't have any time to hear she was approaching

How to play well as killer
Do 2k hours of mastery of complicated strategies of both chase and mindgames against you opponent as well as learning to read their stategies before they even do them, as well as learn all you can about the killers you play and the perks you use
How to win as killer
This one is subjective but the easiest answer is you win by having fun, thats right its not about killing all the survivors or keeping them at 5 gens for the entire game its about having fun and doing what makes you happy, you don't need to worry about objectives such as if they left. Winning because you are having fun should be the first goal and the traditional sense of winning should be a nice bonus on top of it but not a requirement.

If you read my comments I said I was doing a hex totem
Doing a hex totem, in a corner, as the killer approaches, and not leaving it as they do to not be cornered
I have a strategy to counter that as well
(don't do that)
-
Wait you are complaining that due to YOUR let me state that one my time YOUR poor maneuvering of going into a corner leads to you getting trapped which leads to getting hit
I have an idea to counter this strategy but you might not like it
(don't do that)
-
You aren't bad at the game for trying something new and doing poorly because of inexperience, you are bad if you try do hit above you weight class while doing so or feel that you DESERVE to do better without putting in the time or effort for it
-
You can't have a full answer until you fix the title to make it not clickbait
-
Thats... not how latency works?
On their screen they are grabbing you right as you vault over the pallet most likely and on your screen you aren't grabbing them because they simply are too far over the pallet
Just because as survivor it seems you can get grabbed from the other side doesn't suddenly mean as killer that you can grab from the other side
-
..
-
So is this a new thing or is this a thing they added under the radar
-
"im not gonna sit here and flex"
2 seconds later
*starts flexing
But also
why do people dislike ttv
My theory, they think because they are ttv that means they need to advertise their name everywhere, "flex" all the time right after saying they aren't going to flex but also act the victim when people call them out for advertising everywhere and flexing all the time (bonus points if they are really mediocre at the game while flexing like having 4 second chases as survivor or running on 5 gen chases as killer without actually catching the surviovr)
