PLEASE KEEP THIS BUG! It shows survivors in the lobby with the cosmetics you personally have chosen for them. As someone with legacy, this is a NECESSARY change. Please allow me to use a SKIN that won't prompt people to use tryhard sweaty builds based purely off of a skin I'm using.
-
i think killer's belongings are their ability, if it's something they themselves place on the map. I don't think it's the "killers belongings", but I suppose they might be able to be seen with a map? Not sure.

Swf it's ok but the vocal no, "the killer is here, he chase me do the gen, go use your flashlight now, it's ghost face, I have the map for know where is the hatch, use your key now, the killer is down......." That it's cheating,
nope. the game was originally released on steam, which itself has a built-in chat feature -- including voice chat, which can be used while playing. It is objectively not cheating. The dev's intentions by their method of game distribution clearly refutes this. Just because it's not a core feature of the game does not make it cheating.
-
It makes no sense to balance killers around a strong 4-man SWF when a strong 4-man SWF is exceedingly rare, and neglects the current situation with solo queuers. The devs have repeatedly shown that, statistically, well over 2 survivors are killed each game - it's usually closer to 3. So what you're saying is likely not a statistically significant issue.
-
How on Earth is his "true strength" faking it? He's literally a smaller-ranged Huntress who can hit through walls, like a Nurse/Huntress hybrid. His "faking it" (aka getting ready to do it but failing to make the right call on the survivor 90% of the time) is the only actually broken thing about him. There desperately needs to be an actual cooldown to enable any real counterplay.
-
I don't think it would work. You'd have to replace the 3x hook mechanic with something rather than an outright kill that can be undone with QTEs.

ok, so
#NerfEbonyMoris
I suspect they eventually will. They've said they're "looking" at moris, although that doesn't mean anything will ever be done. People always inevitably bring up keys as well, although moris affect exponentially far, far more games than keys do, and you don't really counter the problem of moris by bringing up something else.
-
The devs didn't intend on looping to be a thing to begin with, they basically expected people to just camp them and drop them as the killer came so the survivor could make difference. Pretty sure they've said as much. I doubt they'd come up with anything more elaborate than what their playerbase has come up with.

unfortunately dead hard doesn't get me out, I've tried </3
the only thing that seems to work is the killer downing me and picking me up, but also, i think some killers know of the bug and will refuse to down me. they'll just let me get three crows and either let me stay like that the rest of the game or I'll just have to dc, if I feel like doing that.
anyway yeah its happened about 5 times in the past two days for me. i hope it gets fixed soon too! hopefully a bit quicker than that but i understand the devs are working from home so it could take a while :)
Ah, it did for me earlier, and some Ace got stuck in the same position trying to heal me, and managed to walk out after awhile.
-
You can dead hard out of out and sometimes you can find the right position to get out.
But yeah, I had it happen once, really annoying. Hopefully there'll be a fix soon, but we might have to wait until the next PTB, or even later.
-
This is exactly how it is for me. I'm not able to uncheck it.
-
It's grayed out. Even going in from the main menu, not a lobby.

Exhaustion perks in general should be the Hex perk equivalent, where ones its done its done for the rest of the game. Exhaustion shouldn't be a stat, it should be a term. You get one use of this perk and that is it.
Man I love coming to these forums for these nutty killer main posts

A second chance perk that literally triggers every forty seconds. Who thought this was a good idea. My suggestion is to have it give you the broken status like no mither. What you all think ?
Are you seriously complaining about a 40 second cooldown that someone has to walk or stand still again to count toward? Dead hard is BROKEN since half of the time it doesn't work in the first place, you obviously just don't know how to play killer - DH is one of the easiest things to counter (in a good number of situations - not always).

I don't think survivors are OP, I think killers are weak and should be balanced around SWF, which they aren't.
Only balance killers around swf if solo survivor is buffed considerably. And a solid half to 2/3 of killers in general are not weak in the slightest.
-
Survivor doesn't need a nerf at all. With uncounterable killers like Deathslinger, Spirit, Nurse, in the game, and killers who are insanely strong like Billy, Oni, etc., you're delusional if you think survivor in general needs a nerf.
-
That picture doesn't look at all reflective of a well-functioning MMR system.

What I find ironic is Scott Jund and some other high rank streamers were complaining prior to the matchmaking going live that it would mean that if you were "top 1%" or whatever you would only be facing super sweaty survivors all the time and be paired against only top killers like Spirit and Freddy and top Nurses.
Instead I'm pretty sure what the system does is look at something like the average of the survivor's ratings to assign a rating for their team and pair that up with a killer of similar rating. So a low-to-mid-rated killer might go against a high rated survivor plus three low rated survivors, for instance. If I'm right about that then you could easily have someone like Otz teamed up with a bunch of low rated survivors going against a mid-rated killer; basically the newer players are "Otz's matchmaking handicap" in a sense.
And that's fine, assuming the matches they get overall are still reasonable and the queue times are short.
I believe Scott said that under the assumption that the MMR system would actually work properly
It doesn't look like it is, at all.

@Stormhaven13 said:
Folks you need to give this more time than 2 days. Yes, it is possible the system isn't working properly, but we do not have the data yet to show that. It's very possible there's any number of things going on, from negative report bias (Which makes sense, as it isn't fun to be in matches like those), to the fact that there are a lot of people playing, and they are all having MMRs that need to settle yet. My personal theory is that with everyone starting at 0, and going up and down from that, there's going to be a lot of people who are very close in MMR and so they aren't getting accurate results yet, and the whole "10 games" thing lowballed it. Give it a little more time to make sure that this keeps happening over the next week.
Also, a Mod has said that while the system WAS running in the background, the data gathered wasn't perfect, and so the system needs more time to get players MMRs correct. This was always going to be a major overhaul, it was not going to be perfect right away. None of this surprises me. If it doesn't get better after about 2 weeks, that's when I'll start to get worried.
Do we? They said we need roughly 10 games to get a "base". Should a 6,000 hour legacy survivor with over 30 games since MMR was added really wind up in the same lobby as someone with 11.7 hours total in game? Or in another one wind up with someone who is literally playing THEIR FIRST game ever? Because this is definitely happening.
This is the worst I've ever seen matchmaking.
-
I'd say they should balance around it - under the assumption that they significantly buff solo survivor. If they don't do the latter, they definitely shouldn't do the former.

We have no idea what it even is yet but no need for that to get in the way of a pointless tantrum ofc
It's just statistically there is no need and the devs have put out data multiple times showing it's not. We've known, even before the EGC, which itself was a massive killer buff, the average kill rate per game was ~2.5. Even in red ranks. They're doing this because of meta killer whining that's not based on any data, nothing more.
-
It can be pretty impactful, although if used just to prevent flashlight saves, that's probably a waste of a slot. I've definitely seen many games where the killer appears to misuse it and winds up going off on another long chase with someone else, the person gets recovered, etc.
It's mostly just annoying as survivor because of the actual constant screaming when I have a potato team, it would be nice if I didn't have to run calm spirit just to turn it off from my end.
-
it's an inside job

Plus FNAF isn't horror. It's a game for five year olds. Combine that with a mainly adult player base and you get a severe decrease in popularity.
People keep arguing against me vehemently that it's not a children's game. It features no violence, no blood, no gore, no actual kills, but a 12-year old youtube video meme scream scare "death". It's literally the Dora the Explorer of the "horror" world. Actual "studies" have shown fnaf's player base is average 12-17, likely on the lower end. It is definitely a children's game.
-
noooooooooooooooo! survivorinos can't have useful perks!
-
I just want them to change what his gas does altogether. At this point, all you can really do against him is camp pallets, which is extremely unfun as survivor, as most of the fun comes from chases. Make them do something else altogether.
-
purple rank is literally 1 tier below red rank, though? that's nothing. matchmaking is generally not by number, but color.
-
If it wasn't for moris, I could see it being something else. But due to them I can't see what else it would be. Although the original moris were very mild, the moris since then make it fairly reasonable.
There's also stuff like Clown's actual pubes being in the game (I wish they weren't, since it grosses me out to think about).
-
for a 4-man SWF, it's survivor-sided. If you play solo survivor, the game is 100% balanced pretty notably toward killer nowadays, especially with killers whose abilities are as busted as Oni, Deathslinger, Spirit, etc., whom seem to be intentionally created for the people who play killer who don't bother learning how to play killer, so they need killers who can't reasonably be countered.
And no, they should definitely not balance around it, as 4-man SWF is not even common.

Did you ever try to play as them or against them? I have a feeling it is no. If you did you would not call them broken.
I'm a 6000 hour DBD player. I've played a TON of him and he's way excessively easily, since his power is broken on half of the loops in the game. I've also played against him many, many times, and as a 6000 hour legacy player, I can confirm he is barely, in any way, counterable on half of the loops.

It's not just speculation, it's an opinion based on available evidence (that being a board game that was just released), and the interpretation of what that means by folks that know how lawsuits work, and folks who have kept tabs on the specific opinions the judge has handed down during the course of this particular lawsuit.
Uh huh, so it's just vague things you can allude to without any rational argumentation. The fact is both parties in the lawsuit have to agree to any content being released, which opens the door to anything.

Deathslinger is balanced because of how small and precise the hitbox is. That, and they spawn randomly on the screen... which can make you miss even though you aimed precisely at them.
Spirit is not broken. You can loop against her, just not like most killers. She requires prediction and counterprediction. You can watch Tru3Talent or Monto go against them and win as a solo survivor. It is not really that hard mechanically.
The only thing I can see in common about these two are that they require different mindsets when facing them, similar to Oni when he is enraged. I am both surprised and not that Nurse is not on here. On the one hand, she bypasses survivor defenses, and on the other, she is pure masochism to play, so nobody does.
lol this is an adorable post if you're genuinely this out of touch.

Okay and I know this is out of no where but ghost face idk why his crouching speed has kept up with me running
Ghostface is a strange one, I'll give you that. I probably see more of an issue with him being able to lose his red stain while in chase than his speed crouching, but sure, I can see that.
-
it's mostly because practically all survivors are red rank anymore since they changed reset, while still not a ton of red rank killers, as it's still harder to pip as killer than it is as survivor.

Okay but one thing I do have to add is the crouch lunge attack it goes really far and she can do it when she chasing somebody. Yea oni too especially blood echo (perk) I cant stand it and I do get spirit deathslinger is because of either lag or not in a good map
With Pig's lunge/ambush attack, if you see her start to crouch while you're looping, it's actually best to just run to the next pallet, since she's slower while crouched and has to charge up her ambush attack. It's one of the weakest abilities in the game, pretty easily, because of this.

I regularly and abruptly get kicked from the server, 1-2 times a day probably, and I always get the penalty. All while my internet is working perfectly fine.

IW counters her power almost completely, she replies almost entirely on sounds during her power. And don't bring up scratch marks because if you are running wild like that vs a Spirit then you deserve to go down.
yes, don't run against a Spirit, guys. just walk or stand still and go down 4 the free killz. And probably 3/4 of the Spirits I've played recently have been using stridor, and no, it doesn't "counter her power almost completely", especially when one of the most common perks on her is stridor which almost completely negates the only actual defense survivor's have with IW.

@VolantConch1719 said:
Just want to point out that the Pig has no way of knowing which boxes are real or not either.
For my actual broken Killer, I'd say Huntress solely due to how bad Dedicated servers are with her hatchets and when they decide to hit or not. Deathslinger's nearly nonexistant terror radius is pretty close by.
All of the boxes are real. Idk why you guys would use that phrasing - when you put your hands in, you're searching for a key, and just one box has that key.
Anyway, pig is not broken at all. She needs a decent buff, actually. She's overall definitely weak.
The most broken would have to be Deathslinger and Spirit. Also arguably Oni, since he got his flick back, which makes him virtually uncounterable - at least in solo queue when you can't ensure your people are smart and to at least stay separated so he can't down everyone in 2 seconds. Deathslinger is insanely broken on probably half of the loops in the game, and it's a total guess about when you should try dodging and how you should do so - he shouldn't be able to move at all when he's reeling you in in those loops, although idk how to make the game know to make it just not be possible to move in those cases. He either needs a minor charge time instead of being able to shoot instantly or something like an inability to move after you're harpooned. Spirit's huge issues are well-known and the devs will never make her balanced or counterable.

IMO you shouldn't be able to bring a single perk to fully counter a killer's power.
There is no perk in the game that "fully counters" any killer's power.

Simple game knowledge helps too, but I do doubt what you just said. There are oceans of perks that counter certain killers and playstiles and if you think about it, this mindgame can't be used by every single spirit, some do that. If you want to be sure that you'll have an advantage then pick it. If not then don't!
literally what "simple game knowledge" allows you to counter an invisible killer (whom can hit you while invisible) whom gives absolutely no indication of where they are, where they're coming from, what they're doing? There is none. You're literally deafblind against a spirit, while she has both audio and visual cues of where you are. That's the problem.
-
It would honestly be pathetic if it was FNAF. Could be the first chapter I don't even buy.

@xCarrie said:
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: Jason could be in DBD but they have to mention nothing from the first film (kid Jason, Pamela, a boy drowning, etc.) So lore wise the devs would have to be creative and somehow avoid anything from the first F13. Anything after that is fair game and could be used by Bhvr, how much convincing it would take idk but Mathieu has his magic hands and could make it happen.
You really don't know that at all. That's 100% speculation. If Jason is going to be added to DBD, it means there's been an agreement between both parties opposing each other in the lawsuit, so if it's actually happening, anything is fair game.
-
I'd be happy with him. The licensed content I most want would definitely be Alien or the Thing, but I'd still be happy. I'll still be a little surprised if they go with Candyman since it wasn't a big movie when it came out.
