People think BBQ is overpowered? Y'all are crazy. It's a solid killer perk. It has counterplay. By that same logic Kindred is OP.
-
I've found PC players are more communicatively toxic. Console players are more toxic in action. One is far more easily ignored than the other.
Also, console players are typically more selfish in their use of map resources. Since there is no interaction with other players, I feel like they play a 1vAll game and are generally less cooperative. This is not all-encompassing though. I've had console survivors who have looped the crap out of PC killers and gotten flashlight saves on me in solo queue. Generally speaking though, the game is generally poorer and more difficult in solo queue due to the addition of console players.

This is EXACTLY the type of crap I'm talking about, and yet I'm a monster for finding it hilarious. People on this forum can be so tiresome.

If you're limited on perks then SC, Botany, Deliverance, and Dead Hard is your best option. If you're open to recommendations I have two builds I use above all others for solo queue.
- Dead Hard, Iron Will, Resilience, Spine Chill.
- This is the typical vault speed build and really gives you some legs in a chase, which is where newer players need help the most at first. Dead Hard gives you options when caught out or needing to get to a window ASAP. Iron Will is the strongest survivor perk in the game IMO. Lots of mindgame potential without being overpowered or unfair. Resilience helps with vaulting fast but the boost also applies to almost everything else. Spine Chill is the other part of vaulting faster but also gives great killer awareness as well.
- Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, Iron Will, We're Gonna Live Forever.
- This is my I Gotchoo Fam build. Dead Hard and Iron Will for the same reasons listed above. Borrowed Time is great for late/end game unhooks or for when the killer is camping/proxying. Good or conscientious killers will typically ignore the unhooked person, but there are enough opportunistic or toxic killers to make Borrowed Time a strong choice (BT is the one perk I find myself wishing I had when I run builds without it). We're Gonna Live Forever is great for countering slugging now that it has the healing speed boost on downed survivors. Not a lot of slugging at the lower ranks, though, so you can replace this with pretty much anything you like. Kindred, Bond, and other information perks are good choices.
- Dead Hard, Iron Will, Resilience, Spine Chill.

He can be pretty fun provided they're running a build that doesn't consist of Hex: Ruin, Hex: Undying, BBQ, and Tinkerer, and as soon as they get that sweet sweet tinkerer proc they abandon all chase regardless of how skilled the person is to protect their oh-so-precious gens. Then it's just boring, especially in solo, when you have little baby Meg who can't last longer than 2 seconds, Claudette in the corner doing nothing productive, and David with No Mither deciding to tbag, get hit, and dc.
Provided they have some ounce of skill and/or creativity, they can be pretty fun and overall imho is balanced.
100% this.

Because he is.
Demo suffers from something unique. He can do everything, but he isn't particularly good at anything. He is stuck being either bad at worst or mediocre at best because of it. This also affects his pick rate. If you want someone with a ranged attack, why play Demo when you can play Deathslinger, Huntress or Freddy? Want stealth? Why not Myers, GhostFace or Wraith? Easy map traversal? Spirit, Billy, Blight and Oni.
As for your points, I'll address them.
- His Shred is easily baitable and is pretty punishing. It also SUCKS on Console, which is where I play.
- Portals do offer map traversal, but they can be removed. They also give a huge notification that you are using them AND they glow.
- His tracking is decent, but again, it's only when touching the Portal and tracking without means to capitalize is meaningless.
- He is good with STBFL.
- His stealth is REALLY bad. Only really bad Survivors will EVER be surprised by him. He gives not one, not two, but THREE warning signs that he's near. Map wide notification that he is using a Portal, Portal glows and his stomping.
- He isn't map dependent. That is true.
Demo needs a total redesign. Not only is he mediocre at best, but he is boring to play. He could've been so interesting, he does so much in ST. Have him able to pull Survivors into the Upside-Down. Have his Portals expand to corrupt the surrounding area. Let him pull generators into the Upside-Down. Do something to make him unique.
"If you want someone with a ranged attack, why play Demo when you can play Deathslinger, Huntress or Freddy?"
😆

The only thing I took away from the survey is that their main concern seems to be finding additional ways to monetize DBD.
-
"Second thing is I have a suggestion. If you are downed and the other survivor has been doing nothing but hiding don't wiggle when the killer picks you up. Many killers quickly realize you are giving them the opportunity to find the survivor that's doing nothing but hiding and they are very happy to do so."
This is bullshit advice. This may have been true once upon a time before consoles infected the player pool, but that's not the M.O. of a majority of killers. I actually end up in this situation a lot and I'm one of those folks that will either keep pushing a gen or just go find the killer to get one last chase in. Once downed I don't wiggle, but I've been hooked every time.

Ya guessed wrong. I hate it when survivors DC because it likely means they were having a bad game and I don't like playing to intentionally give people that experience unlike you.
It also makes the game unfun for the other Survivors many times as well. That 1 DC could ruin the game for 4 other players and it makes me feel bad if I contributed something in game that led them to that choice.
I never said I did anything intentional to cause the DC other than playing well. I can understand the assumption that I'm toxic in game because of what I find hilarious, but you're guessing wrong as well. I don't teabag, point, or do anything else over the top because I hate being tunneled and don't want to encourage it.

Hypocrite. Below is a quote from you showing how you would dc in order to avoid "bullshit". Click on it to be directed to the source thread. You should stop playing this game if you can't handle things you don't like.
I love that there's no DC penalty right now. Lets me avoid so much bullshit. And I'm sure the killer found it amusing. Your delving into my post history, which is amusing, doesn't make a difference. I will still laugh my ass off at DCing killers and I'm sure when I DC/Suicide to avoid a Forever Freddy, Iri Kuntress, or other such bullshit I bet they'll laugh their ass off too. Save your armchair tedium for someone who might actually be swayed.

What an assumption to make. Your argument is no stronger than theirs.
-
Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer - I really only mind when it's a killer with a good movement power like Blight. A good Blight with this combo is a nightmare. Not fun at all to go against. Glad this is getting nerfed.
That's it, really. I dislike when NOED rewards a bad killer, but I can't really complain if I don't do bones. Slug builds are also really annoying, but there are enough meta survivor perks floating around that offer slugging counter-play so it's not the worst.

I'm not looking to argue, I really don't see the difference and I'm open to any points you can make. Every argument I've ever seen against tunneling could be applied almost word for word to gen rushing.
- It isn't fun - (opinion) applies to both
- It isn't fair - not a good argument but can apply to both
- You get less points tunneling, you get more hits and downs going after more players - applies to both sides, survivors get more points adding in some chases and cleansing totems and what-not
Meanwhile, the arguments FOR gen rushing apply to killers as well.
- I need to get the objectives done and gen rushing helps me do that- yeah, killers need to do that, too
- Killers have gen defense perks, use them - survivors have anti-tunneling perks too
- I'm not breaking any rules, git gud killers! - yeah but players across the board get salty when told this, survivors VERY included.
So is this just an issue of everyone is gonna be unhappy about SOMETHING or is there really a counter-argument that can be made when I say that gen-rushing is the same as tunneling?
Full disclosure: I'm 130 hrs into the game and have a grand total of 3 games as survivor, the first three games I played. When I found how much faster queue times are as killer I tried killing and just fell in love. I've prestiged spirit once but have been leveling all my killers to get access to the perks. I don't tunnel on purpose, but if you get a survivor off hook right freaking next to me I'm gonna get the down and hook again.
Truly not looking to argue, genuinely curious about how survivors counter the points made. Thanks people, love the game!
The Professor
"Gen Rush" is something only a killer who is bad at applying map pressure would say. Tell about more of your expansive experience in the game with 130 hours, please.

'luls' at the cost of another player's experience? By this logic, people who cheat in video games and have fun are allowed to do so just because 'it's a game'. If there are rules, they should apply for everyone else regardless of who they are.
So we're supposed to care about other people's player experience now?

Hey guys, they understand our frustration! We have the right to feel frustrated! I feel so relieved now.
Seriously, begging for Steam award votes and then releasing this steaming pile of shlt is hilarious. BHVR should really feel ashamed both for this release and the general state of the game.

I've dropped about $500 bucks on this game so far since I started playing Q3 2018, including all DLC. I have about 2.7k hours in the game across 3 accounts. Totally worth it to me. It's kinda fun playing dress up and a lot of the skins they're releasing these days are fire.
The only skin I really regret buying is the Lisa outfit for Cheryl. I know why the cosmetics team makes linked sets (greater creative freedom as they only have to ensure the linked set blends well with itself), but I don't like it and won't be buying them in the future. I like mix and matching way too much.
-
I will always PC dodge a mori. I don't give fvck if you just have a daily or whatever. Much easier to waste my time rebooting the game than to waste even more time in a game that's heavily stacked against me.

I personally disagree. If the Killer is distracted with someone else, you could use the opportunity to move away first. If the Killer loses sight of you because they were busy, they may eventually decide that you are probably long gone and abandon you rather than risk losing gen progress, creating an opening for you to be rescued. If you just sit right there to heal first, you risk the still-nearby Killer being able to get to you before a Survivor does.
I guess it depends on your rank. This stuff doesn't fly in red ranks.
-
@iZombie said:
No they’re not?
Sometimes the smartest thing to do is to crawl away and then recover. Why stay in the area where the killer downed you? By crawling away first you reduce the chances of the killer being able to find you.
The REAL problem is when you clearly start crawling away as soon as you’re downed and somebody runs in to pick you up. They need to use their brain and realise you clearly haven’t started recovering yet and you’re trying to get to a safer location.
No, it really isn't. The only reason you should start crawling instead of recovering is if you have Tenacity. That's it. As a slug the ONLY thing you can do to be useful is recover. If you're not doing that, you're wasting the time of anyone coming to get you.
People are trying to get you up ASAP because you're out of the game when you're down. I'm seeing a lot of WGLF too, which is a great anti-slug perk.
I'm sure you mean well, but you're wrong about this.

For some time now, the simple IDEA of even touching nurse, scared me. As much as I like challenges, even I know when something is too much for me. Maybe I'm just bad (insert Yes you are comment here)
That was 300 hours ago and a few chapters ago. Here we are, present day, I'm taking steps to learning Nurse. Currently on day 5 and I'm doing really well.
Now for the reason.
Survivors aren't scared (in the sense that, they will lose if they do not do something, not BOO scared)
Killers don't properly have that factor unless it's a really good player that knows how to snowball. Survivors hardly get as stressed as a killer.
Survivors don't have any sort of fear/worry. That's why my goal is to terrorize survivors with nurse. But hell, maybe that won't do anything.
Just saying now though
I'm coming for ya
What is the point of this post?

For the 1000th time, ppl gotta stop w the

Everyone should just play however ppl want to play. Trying to make someone play a certain way becuz u think it's 'unfair' while u urself do whatever u want by following ur own dbd code is just hypocritical.
If u have some kind of Honor code, than u follow it. Don't make other ppl follow it.
And don't make excuses.
'ill follow this code once everyone else follows it'.
No... U believe in it, u do it. That's it.
You literally just said "Survivors have the perks and manpower to counter camping, they just don't run it. They rather use other selfish perks, play selfishly, and come to the forums to blame the killers" in your previous post. Are you ret@rded?
-
They really need to incentivize ranks. Make it harder to rank up as survivor and make the effort worth it.
-
@TheClownIsKing said:
If the killer has downed somebody, doesn’t immediately pick them up because they’re in a chase with another survivor straight away, and so the downed survivor attempts to crawl away to hide first, THEN WAIT UNTIL THEY’VE STOPPED CRAWLING AND HAD A CHANCE TO START RECOVERING UNTIL COMING IN TO ASSIST!!!
This especially TRUE when the killer isn’t even out if the vicinity because whomever they’re chasing REFUSES to lead the chase AWAY from whomever was downed.
I’m getting right royally pissed off at the amount of times i’ve crawled partway to a safe enough spot where I feel confident the killer will not find where I am (without Deerstalker), only to instead have some dumb hero try and revive me out in the open while the chase is still nearby, spotted by the killer, they get injured (or downed), and I get picked up and hooked anyway because of the attention YOU drew to me.
STOP IT!!!
JUST STOP!!!
If a slug is stationary, they’re recovering (or should be) and ready for assistance. If they’re crawling away THERE IS USUALLY A DAMN GOOD REASON, SO LEAVE THEM ALONE TILL THEY STOP!!!
No, just no. If you don't immediately start recovering once you've been downed you're just wasting time. You aren't going to get away from a smart killer unless you're running Tenacity (and even then it's a stretch). Also, this is an especially stupid post considering the WGLF change. WGLF will get a slug up in seconds and is not something killers are used to considering when they make chase vs hook decisions.
If I see someone immediately start crawling once they get downed I'm assuming they're just a potato and I usually leave them to other teammates to pick up. No sense in wasting 2 people's time.

Your right, it is nonsense that i must down someone 5 or 6 times or slug the whole team to secure one hook, what happened in his video happened to me. It aint balanced one bit. It is funny tho but it is broken, lay your bias to one side and open your eyes, im a survior just like you, i only play killer for bp
Good lord... What you're crying about requires all 4 survivors to be swapping downs just to keep unslugging each other until they all basically bleed out. No gens are being done. Yes, maybe it's harder to get hooks but killers always win wars of attrition. Just enjoy smacking them over and over until they bleed out. A killer losing a game like the one you're mentioning should really stop and think about their lives.
But then this seems like a stupid troll post. You can't be this dense.

I never said WGLF is OP. You could at least read the post's before commenting something like that.
Please people just watch Aryuns vid, im not trying to promote that gameplay but it is quite clearly broken when used like that
Ayrun's video should not be used as justification for your nonsense. That was clearly a meme game as anyone would know by a minute in. Not that it matters for the specific combo they were running, but the Billy was using a speed limiter for chrissakes.
It reminds me of old sabo squads. Annoying, but the objective is rarely being pushed by the survivors effectively.
