  • We all know the top one is what everyone wants, but they will never do it because they didn't think of it.

You’re meant to make sure a gas cloud is in FRONT of the survivors path.

A survivor is Intoxicated for the entire duration they’re within the gas AoE, and for a further 2 seconds once they’re out of the gas AoE.

Thus you want survivors to run through a FULLY EXPANDED gas cloud.

Throw bottles AHEAD of survivors, not AT them.

    Hope this helps.

meh.. they just pass through like it isn't even there at loops.

  • Can't fix this issue without red rank survivors waiting 30 minutes for a match.

We need more killer players and less swf.

I feel this is a question only the Dev's can answer and am curious to know the answer too. I'd love to have the gameplay tweaked to where I feel I don't have to run DS. I hate running DS, I really do. Its a one-time chance perk that I'd rather not touch but there's always those Killers who make me feel like I have to put it into my loadout. Yesterday I got tunneled twice directly off of a hook by a Plague when I took my DS off, and what made it worse was that me and my friends wanted everyone to get a good portion of BP's at the end of the match so we ran 3 BPS and 1 Ghastly Gateau. I got less points than I would if I were running a regular game with no extra BP's offerings. Lol

You can't stop a killer from tunneling or being near the hook without it looking really really stupid and being a massive freebie to the survivor player/s

DS is needed but it needs tweaks to make it anti tunnel not anti momentum such as not being able to touch a generator without losing it.

As for the op, the problem is survivor perks seem to get long thought out side grades where the perk still does exactly the same thing, just in a different way. While killer perks get massive changes that change the perk to something else entirely or make it a husk of its former self.

Look at undying. People seem to have glossed over the fact that destroying ruin would change it to a possibly unknown dull totem. After the nerf it will not randomly move but will be one of the two totems lit from the start of the match that could both be in bad spawns or all survivors have already found and you are defending.

It has lost its reset potential.

The only thing i can put it down to is money. Killers don't really buy cosmetics.

Yup unfortunately the hit validation bs they released shows how competent they are.

The problem they have created is that the more terrible you're connection is, the more advantages you gain.

It isn't killer or survivor sided.

I have had games as killer where I was hugging survivors before going for the hit, unfortunately the hit never lands.

And i have games as survivor where the pallet was down and the killer teleported through and then back and managed to hit.

Even huntress in the opposite doorway from the shack and i allready outside around the corner and still got hit.

I heard that they do use the "did you have fun" on the score board.

So i decided to just give every single match with bogus hits or hits that should land 1 pip.

I for sure know it isn't my Internet connection, having also fibre Internet, a good router and have my PlayStation put in dmz, so all is good on my side as far as I know

Big oof. They use the "did you have fun?" Slider to nerf killers, not fix the game.

A dev said they use it to correlate what perks / killer were used for unfun matches.

No idea what they do with the ones killers send in.. throw them out?

  • you do know they just shoved hillbillys camera forward more to make his fov smaller right?

They are NEVER going to improve killer fov. They like killers being blind and seem to like the fact they have a dead zone literally under their nose so survivors can try 360 montages for youtube and twitch.

  • They don't want people to play her.

She was a non stop source of complaints and even had fog whisperers telling people to dc against her.

Funny how everyone learned to use cover against her the moment they got their nerf.

Do you say the same thing when it comes to playing against stridor spirits or irihead huntress?

Iri huntress as a solo yes since most huntress players also have suspiciously high ping.

spirit no since i run spinechill and understand how she works.

Indeed it does not. I'd need to know the specifics behind how the animation alteration works to answer that one. My knowledge is from what the devs have stated about how the code works, which is what I have already said, that the success of your attack isn't tied to it's animation and the animating is done after deciding the attack outcome and not before.

If I had to make a guess, it'd be that it prefers to show the Killer hitting an object rather than hitting air on missed attacks. I DO know that there is a real problem when it comes to Survivors on hooks, since they are considered a valid target and can sometimes make you hit them instead of another Survivor that is otherwise in range (since both are in the hitbox and you can only hit a single Survivor at a time).

Only it can happen at the start of your lunge or half way through. It also seems to happen more often vs console users and when their ping is 70 and up.

I only really started to get aim dressing issues when cross play was implemented.

Don't believe everything these devs tell you. We all saw the explanation about how aim dressing works on their stream. The problem is that what they say does not match reality.

  • @GamerGirlFeng said:

AFK killers are the equivalent of DCers. You can't condone one while shaming the other.

SWFs aren't to blame. If killer mains on this forum preach anything, its to accept the challenge or don't play at all.

Not much of a challenge when they are on coms with OoO. No point playing.

  • @Axx said:

Undying and Ruin is just too strong vs average solo players in its current state. Now, with that said, I do feel like BHVR is always quick to fix things survivors have issues with over killers. The main thing is they nerf gen regression things, but they don't try to fix the issue that is causing people to run gen regression perks the most of out any other killer perks. The gens just get done to fast vs decent survivors. If you play nice and "fair", the 5th gen can pop by the time you get your third hook vs decent survivors quite often. This is why people slug, tunnel, and force second stage and kills via proxy camping. If gens were to go slower, it would benefit survivors as well. Killers wouldn't feel the need to slug and do all the other things survivors don't like.

The problem is that the devs then ask, but what if the killer still does these things?

While never addressing the other side, the survivor death squad.

Rules for thee but not for me as usual.

As someone who has been down into facing Red Rank (as a purple myself, friend was red, I adapted to play at that level, trial by fire), and its fun. It is just sitting there and just being bored for 5 minutes holding M1 in order to move onto the next. I am not wasting my time with running in circles, I will just hold M1 and try again with someone who actually cares to play. We can do that faster than the 5 minute penalty for DCs, while also denying the killer any additional bloodpoints.

Now adapt as a r1 killer and give the other survivors the game you want.

So making things work as intended which got bugged due to Dedicated Servers is making them "more braindead" now?

So, whenever a Bug get fixed, this is a Buff for that respective side?

There is intended use and then there is it will work no matter what so long as you press the button.

As a killer with 20 ping i can tell you that the perk currently works fine, the problem is when the killer uses a vpn or lives in the middle of nowhere.

"fixing" this perk will punish killers with good ping even more then the game already does.

I think You're mistaking Iridescent Shards with Auric Cells.

Iridescent Shards are currency that You get just by playing the game and levelling up.

Auric Cells are currency that You get by paying with real money.

They've been giving out a substantial amount of Iri Shards during the last Advent Calendar event, so I think this wouldn't affect anyone's profits.

    No... no i'm not.

Iri shards do get you some cosmetics or allow you to buy unlicensed characters. What you don't account for is the time it takes to gather enough iri shards to do these vs the cost of these items.

People still buy skins that can be bought with iri shards because it takes to long to build them up.

  • They will never give shards as that cuts into their profits.

  • They always go to far on killer perks while doing side grades and minor tweaks on survivor perks.

The only time they ever did anything killer level to survivors is MOM and that is because it was universally agreed on that it was a terrible perk to have in this game.

  • They are working on making it even more braindead.

They don't like that you can become exhausted on the ground if you try to time it when the killer swings, so are probably going to prioritize it somehow to take that away from the killer and make it work 100% of the time without effort.

I get it. You guys miss undying. I would if i owned the perk, but the thing that is flying under the radar that is most important to me is the new ui. It is absolutely TRASH. I need more people to stand up for this change, because it is honestly the worst thing to come from thia, i really hope the ui doesnt change.

The language used in the stream boils down to this.

Humans don't like change. You will get use to it. Nothing you say will make us change the design.

Rip the ui i guess. Now killers have dumb pictures blocking part of their vision when scanning the map.

  • It is how bhvr want you to play, nothing more.

12 hooks is legit impossible against decent survs.

  • They don't. dedicated survivors remember all the spots or even have maps showing spawn locations.

  • Yep. They said they are doing an addon pass. This is usually code for we are going to nerf everything.

be ready for her iris to be meme addons and for all exhaustion addons to be changed/removed.

Wouldn't be shocked if they take away oak haft and babushka since they seem to hate addons that change the killer powers speed.

I do agree it needs to go but.. it is what they will do to everything else that has me worried.

  • They have a dream that an MMR system will be put in place and have left killers locked in preparation for it 20 years down the line.

I wish i lived in this fantasy land .

  • @unluckycombo said:

Ngl, if they removed SWF, I would stop playing this game. It's the only reason I play it so consistently- I like having fun with my friends in casual SWF, and KYF just isn't as fun.

However, I can give you some notes as to what I would personally change about SWF which wouldn't cause it to be deleted or just unfun to play:

-Give killers a BP bonus for facing a SWF. Encourages more Killers to actually face a SWF, instead of just insta-dodging them. Also helps lessen the BP grind, which is nasty on both sides- especially since Add-Ons can make or break a killer game.

-SWF Perk Lock-Out. What this means is that it would follow what seems to be the normal tournament rules for Survivor perks that you see in DBD Competitions- No more than 2 perks of each type for Survivor. So, pretty much if you're in a 3 or 4 man SWF, you can only have two players run DS+UB, or 2 Dead Hards. If the Devs were super concerned about what this means for casual SWFs (Like the four man Head-On squads), they could just base it around the most popular Survivor perks based on pick-rate. This would help encourage perk variety in a SWF, while also making it so it's not a complete, constant stomp on the Killer. I also think that this should lock out OoO for the entire SWF, since it's a really nasty perk.

That's just my suggestion though. I agree with most of your Killer changes- though honestly, I wouldn't touch genrush with a 10-foot pole until other things in the game are messed with. It's a pretty big, multi-faceted issue that I really don't think has one simple solution.

The problem isn't the perks, it is the speed gens can be done.

The game only works when survivors have no idea what is going on and multiple, if not all, survivors leave their gens for a save. SWF, even casual swf do not do this.

There are many other problems caused by even casual chit chat that you don't even notice, but that is the main one.

Yes... they're included... Honestly they should be separate for context

Take Freddie for example... has %75.69 kill rate but what % are DC's and not kills that Freddie got himself?

That's what I want to know more of (cause again... I'm being selfish)

Most of them will be survivors killing themselves on the hook and standing still so they move onto the next game quicker.

Yeah, it's crazy dude. It blows my mind because they had a better design philosophy in the past. Legion got a rework in the past because he was oppressive, not because he was top tier. That was a good call back then. Nowadays though, it's all about data. OoO is just as oppressive against killers as old Legion was to survivors or old Ruin was to new players, but nah it's fine cause data. The dev even made a comment the other day about how we don't understand statistics or how they're using it. But that's the same person who cited pick and death rates for OoO to defend not changing it and it's just like WOOSH.

I do think that they make some good decisions sometimes but it's hard to get over that one.

If you make everything "fun" for survivors then we will all be playing base wraith.

Is there any way for me as ps4 player to get the Steam64 ID or is it useless to report when i play on Ps4 and they on Steam?

They will ignore your report if you don't record it.

The players need to do all the leg work in this game for some reason.

  • They ruined him.

They moved his camera forward even more so you can't even see most of your weapon (the handle was visible while walking last time i played him). They wanted a nice BIG blind spot infront of him, so the rank 20 plebs could pull off a 360 once in a blue moon, while not thinking of survivors that could already do this.

his movement is janky and annoying to watch while moving around the map

His starting turn rate got nerfed hard. i use to be able to 360 on the top of the hills. you can't do this any more, and even trees offer some safety now.

he has nothing useable to increase rev speed or decrease stun time so 9/10 times the survivor will reach a pallet or window before you can saw.

The cool down ruined chainsaw games around pallets.

    weak weak weak.

I want my double oils back :(

  • @Leonardo1ita said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1850714#Comment_1850714

Because that's the problem with @Almo 's stats: he checks the 1% of each killer, but what if of that 1% you sort our the 1% of survivors? (Due to how dbd players play I'd expect even less than 1%, maybe 0,5, who knows).

You would find the top sweat tryhards ( AKA people who know how to play....efficiently!...what a surprise!)

I just went against a 4 man death squad with nothing but OoO as iri huntress and they got down to 2 gens while always having someone on hook and in chase at the same time. This is with 1 hit downs that take at most 20* seconds to do and they still did 3 gens.

Yes i "won" but that is with a ranged killer that can mitigate pallets with the strongest addon combo in the game that will soon be removed. so what would a normal killer be able to do?

Genrush is legit but it isn't the survivors fault. it is the terrible balancing that the dev/'s are doing to keep bad survivors happy and buying cosmetics.

We just need to accept that if the survivors want out they will get out and there is nothing you as a killer can do to stop it if they are good enough.

Changed the down time as 30 was to long and 20 was about right to deal with strong loops.

  • Fellow killer mains?... ok

I only play the "boring killers" as you call them so this doesn't happen to me because it can't.

If i played boring m1 killers like trapper or wraith on the other hand.....

  • You can uncap it but it will still be limited to 120 max.

Nah they should be able to tie the killer up and dance around them for 5 minutes getting 500% bonus bp.

Hitting the survivor on the hook?

Having survivors swarm the hook to do saves?

    Flashlight saving?

I'm genuinely curious as to how you were bullied, and also - unless you're reporting people for end game chat you can, and probably should just hide it, or leave the end game lobby after the match there is nothing to gain from being there yet people will sit in it and read the chat (and usually reply) and then come to the forums without reporting or even considering to hide the chat and complain about their experience.

They follow you to your steam profile or message you on console forcing you to private everything.

Survivors call killers toxic but it is exceptionally rare to get in game or steam profile rage. While if you do anything as killer that they don't like you will probably be messaged by a survivor.

  • if you only play 2-3 games a day then i am not shocked you haven't reached r1.

survivor q takes ages and if you play solo depends heavily on your team mates or the killer if you pip or not. If the gens get done in 2 minutes and you didn't get a chance to be chased or save gg your pip.

Killer is just a stressful slog. you will pip easily until red ranks where the requirements become more demanding and you run into 4 man swf often.

You just don't play enough, doesn't mean you are bad.

  • How often do you play?

  • It is currently being balanced around the top 1% of killers with total disregard for the caliber of the survivors they are facing. as a specific dev pointed out during a live stream.

Exactly this is what i think people don't get. If you're up against a 20k hour swf and you've 1k hours as killer and are playing with a pretty basic build, it makes sense that you aren't going to win, it's like complaining in any other pvp game that you lost to someone who was better than you. And I can imagine if someone said let's balance for infectious slugging nurses that there would be a huge uproar.

There is winning because they are good, and then there is winning because of basic math and game mechanics.

    1 killer- 4 survivors - 5 gens

Walk from point A to point B and say you find a survivor instantly. That survivor runs to a low wall loop with zero mindgame (not that many loops have a mindgame at all) you are forced to waste a set amount of time to break that pallet and leave or just leave and find someone else right?

Now you have wasted time finding that survivor, chasing that survivor and are now wasting time walking to another survivor all while they are ticking away at 3 individual gens and the one you left is now on their own gen. you probably just lost 50% on 3 gens and got nothing out of it while survivor defence is still at 100%

a good team will always get 3 gens done before you hook the first survivor if they have played long enough to understand all the loops.

I hate when people use OTZ or TRU3 as examples when they do something as simple as stand still for 2 seconds on a corner of a loop and the survivor runs into them. This never works!

  • One of the big reasons i just can't play or main survivor. i have 20-30 ping so every killer has an advantage over me, especially since 60-100 ping is quite common judging from the survivors pings i play against.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

Just add rank decay and make ranking up harder. Reset is crap. makes solo unplayable for 3-4 days and killer a potato farming sim

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

    They removed rank reset? What?

You only move down one tier instead of 3. Red ranks use to be reset to green but are now only reset to purple. This may not seem like much, but it was enough to keep a wider spread in the survivor ranks either from their skill or lack of time to play than we have now.

  • @th3 said:

The issue I have is when I go to find totems the killer isn't just sitting around afk. They are patrolling gens and often times slugging repeatedly at 5 gens. This results in an untenable situation for solo survivor teams. When two teammates are hooked/slugged the priority isn't to be doing totems. It's to be doing saves/resetting the team. Doing totems at that point is detrimental.

I've been recording my games and every game with ruin undying involves slugging at the start. My teammates try to go for saves and it comes to a point where totems cannot be done. Even when totems do get done it turns out you did the ruin totem for the 3rd time and you have to go look for it again while the killer is slugging everyone else and it kills your team. It's made a majority of my games with ruin undying extremely unfun despite me equipping perks to help find totems and helping my team.

This is not a solo game any more, and should not be balanced as a solo game.

They can try buff solo survivors to get on the same level as swf but you can't balance for rank 20 potatoes.

This is why randoms are getting worse and worse XD

He's incredibly strong, but given how people are still learning a lot of less experienced killers haven't realised this yet.

Of course if you compare him to spirit or nurse no duh he's not that strong of a killer, but I mean if those are your standards then you are setting yourself up for a huge disappointment for literally every other killer- and you're going to get bored of this game real quick.

He's not top tier; but he is well above average, and plenty viable in red ranks once you get used to him. Not many killers can negate so many survivor perks, shave so much time out, hit multiple survivors, etc.... His kit is like Demo in that he has a varied toolkit that is simplistic initially; but requires some effort to learn.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1846394#Comment_1846394

As I said; if you expect every killer to be Spirit or Nurse; then you're going to get bored of this game real quick. If you're only approaching the game with the mentality of having to have the best everything always; you're going to be behind that guy running brown add on trapper every day of the week.

Also Spirit, really? You say you dislike characters that mostly press M1 and use spirit as your example? Pyramid head has far more to him than spirit does; and a lot more thought you have to put in. Characters like that will teach you a LOT more about the game much quicker also.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1846363#Comment_1846363

Once you get used to it; that delay is not a big deal. It's about when you use it.

The ability to shave tons of time off the match, hit multiple survivors, hit through walls, pallets, and almost anything in the game, control over where your map pressure is, negate some of the most meta survivor tools in the game, and can punish survivor mistakes crazy hard.

He's well above most of the killers in the game in terms of strengths, he's just not at that Spirit/Nurse/Freddy/Etc level.

It's perfectly okay to lot like how a character "feels" though, I get that, but calling him weak is just silly.

everything you mentioned is a mistake made by the survivor, not anything you did as the killer.

    Good survivors don't get tormented.

His attack is loud, directional, and has warning animations with a slow travel. if you hit a survivor behind something they either let you or are really yellow/ green ranks.

Good survivors will not let you animation lock them, and if they do they probably have dead hard to counter it.

you do know that 9/10 times people leave a review or rating when they have something to be angry about right? Or do you count no vote as a 5/5?

  • I just mash the button.

Are you using a mouse from 1990 with a ball instead of a laser or what? most "gaming" mice have thumb buttons now.

  • In what way is he strong? he is slow and heavily telegraphed to the point where it is THE SURVIVORS FAULT if they get hit with zero input from the killer.

The delay on his attack makes him feel awful to play as well.

  • Just get use to playing her with nothing as every addon pass has resulted in useless or meme addons.

  • The pip system was only implemented to force interaction between killer and survivor. It is nothing but a band aid to attempt to stop survivors just banging out gens and killers camping every hook.

The depip squad showed that if they did not have something to incentivise interaction then survivors can and WILL escape every game because all they need to do is hold m1.

We don't really have a pip/rank system that actually shows skill.
