  • 20? seconds? Could you imagine being unable to see anything for 20 seconds? Potentially multiple times per match?

Could you be more specific about the requirements? By "complete 2 generators", does that mean you must repair the equivalent of 2 generators or do you just need to be working on 2 gens when they are completed?

When exactly does it activate? When you complete the second gen? Is the killer just blinded for 20 seconds as soon as that happens, no matter where they might be?

And a perk that you can only use during the holidays is kinda weird. Would you have to buy all 3 tiers in the bloodweb? If the holidays end, do you lose it and have to buy it again next time? Most importantly, what does it have to do with the holidays, anyway?

  • My go-to build is J. Myers Memorial / Memorial Flower and Dead Rabbit with M&A, Infectious Fright, Corrupt Intervention, and BBQ.

Corrupt Intervention gives me time to stalk.

    J. Myers Memorial / Memorial Flower lets me tier up faster.

M&A + Dead Rabbit gives you a tiny terror radius for sneaking up and a massive terror radius for Infectious Fright.

BBQ is just for points, but the aura reading is nice, especially when you have IF to cover the short range tracking.

99% Tier 3 like usual and pop it when you need to. If gens are flying, slug for extra pressure. It only takes a couple of misplays from the survivors to get 3 people downed.

  • @Mr_K said:

By pressing whatever key activates Dead Hard.

I was gonna type "I pressed E" when I saw this thread lol

  • Well it's getting buffed, so it might end up being a high tier perk.

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

It's a good perk if you combine it with other aura perks yes, but I'd prefer just to use other perks myself. The extra distance doesn't really change much for me.

You're thinking of Open Handed. 24m Kindred is awesome.

Ace in the Hole is the one that lets you find add-ons on chest items (and lets you keep your add-ons in 3.6.0).

I get it. I hate the grind in this game but that leads into a separate discussion entirely. I wish we didn’t have perk tiers but I run BBQ often because I’m trying to P3 every character lol.

But when I see a sweat looking SWF with keys and medkits I definitely don’t run BBQ.

I still run it because it works nicely with Infectious Fright (Myers main btw). I care more about points than "winning" anyway.

  • We have a few of those.

    Oni (obvious)

Spirit (again, not too hard to figure out)

    Hag (Wendigo)

and maybe Wraith. His weapon is kinda like a scythe so grim reaper?

I wouldn't be opposed to more supernatural/mythological killers like these though.

  • My usual build. Spine Chill, Open Handed, Kindred, and Bond. Ranger Medkit with the best charge add-ons. A lot of my deaths are just me being overly altruistic after the exit gates open so I'll just not do that.

Yung, I understand it’s used for BPs. One of my points in this thread is that the people that like to complain about gen speeds are probably running BBQ when there are superior perks that can help you apply pressure.

In an ideal world we can run BBQ for points but if you’re not a skilled killer you’re going to hurt your chances of “winning”.

We pretty much don't have a choice. If we use a better perk, we get half BPs. I don't think it should be that way, but that's the way it is. If there were other BP perks that could give a 100% BP bonus but didn't stack with each other, it would be a lot easier to have variety in killer builds.

  • He should just wear nothing at all.

Except his mask because he's shy.

  • I identify as a Myers main.

They really wanted my totems, 5 gens the whole game because they kept trying to get my totems, pesky things.

Maybe they'll finally learn their lesson. If not, they'll continue to pay with their blood :)

I don’t want BBQ nerfed at all, I enjoy using it too (primarily for BPs, like most). Just pointing out that there are better options for certain killers/killer players who struggle with gens.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1120324#Comment_1120324

    Thank you!!

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1120310#Comment_1120310

Again, I’m talking about how BBQ without BP gain is a mediocre tracking perk at best. Easily countered and no gen regression/stalling benefits.

According to the title, you're telling killers to stop using BBQ. But I think you're missing the point. We use it for the BP. Explaining why other perks are better for tracking isn't going to change anything.

  • The ranking system for killers is just dumb. It depends more on how the survivors play than how well you play.

Survivors don't save their teammates or die too quickly? Bronze devout.

Survivors don't heal and rush gens as fast as possible before they end up dying at 1 gen left? Bronze gatekeeper.

Kill 4 survivors in 3 minutes because they basically hand themselves to you? Back to green ranks you go, Jimbo.

Meanwhile survivors literally get starting points on the benevolent emblem in case the killer doesn't feel like hitting them, not to mention how easy it is to get points for that same emblem (2 unhooks? you're practically a saint, have an iridescent), as well as the unbroken emblem (just don't ######### in the first five minutes).

  • @Kai6864 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1120246#Comment_1120246

This was awesome! Just played it on the PTB and the survivors just didn’t know what to do xD

Well, it's pretty simple. Just don't touch his stuff.

  • In part, yes... but I feel like it’s those ever-tasty bonus bloodpoints (BPs). I get it, the grind is ridiculous and BPs are the currency that keeps your killer/survivor economy running. We need to unlock teachables, P3 everyone (if you’re into pointless bloody versions of default cosmetics), and stock up on items/addons. BUT - if we take out the BP factor from BBQ, what are you left with?

You just summed up exactly why we use BBQ. Literally the only perk that lets us get a decent amount of BP.

  • Noisemaker:

    Item: Firecracker

    Any Means Necessary

    P e b b l e

    Quick and Quiet

Red Herring (replace with Dance With Me if you're playing live).

    Firecracker: noise

    Pebble: more noise

AMN: so you can pick up pallets after you drop them for noise

QnQ: hop in a locker and then back out for extra n o i s e

    Red Herring: NOISE

Dance With Me is just for running away from the locker after making noise.

  • So, this build might not work depending on whether they make the Serpent add-on work on breakable walls, but just in case I'm still putting it here:

    Kool-Aid Wraith:

    Glenvale Map Offering

    Shadow Dance + Serpent

    Brutal Strength

    Fire Up

2 perks of your choice (tracking perks like Surveillance, or maybe PWYF/STBFL)

Again, this depends on Serpent being changed to work on breakable walls when 3.6.0 goes live. If it does work, it will be super fun.

Go in cloak, find some survivors, and bust through the wall like a madman when they least expect it.

  • "Don't Touch My Stuff" Trapper 2: Extra Hexy Edition

    Bloody Coil + Padded Jaws

    Haunted Ground

    Thrill of the Hunt

    Retribution

    Devour Hope

    Don't touch his traps.

    Don't touch his totems.

    Don't touch his hooked survivors.

    Don't. touch. his. stuff.

  • 110% killer with no mobility? This power better be strong.

    Let's see...

You have to hit a survivor with your lunge power (I'm assuming it's like Demogorgon's lunge or else it's better to just M1) and stay on them for 10 seconds.

They have 10 seconds to perform enough actions for 100 charges to escape uninjured and mini-DS the killer.

Let's break it down by seconds:

    1. Crouch 3 times. 0 + (8 + 6 + 4) = 18.
    2. Run. 18 + 2 = 20.
    3. Run. 20 + 2 = 22.
    4. Run. 22 + 2 = 24.
    5. Crouch 3 times. 24 + 18 = 42.
    6. Run. 42 + 2 = 44.
    7. By now you should have made it to a pallet/window. Fast vault. 44 + 18 = 62.
    8. Fast vault. 62 + 13 = 75.
    9. Fast vault. 75 + 9 = 84.
    10. Crouch 3 times. 84 + 18 = 102 = Free DS with no injury.

So you're more likely than not to escape for free. Assume the killer does manage to injure you. You still get to DS her almost immediately after. If you have no pallets or windows to vault, you still generate 24 charges every second, meaning it'll take about 17 seconds to stun the killer if you're healthy (which gives you a lot of leeway). So the killer takes 17 seconds to get a hit and then gets DS'd.

    Conclusion: Just M1.

So it's an M1 killer with 110% speed, decent(?) tracking, and no mobility. This would undoubtedly be the weakest killer in the game. Weaker than old Freddy, even.

As for the tracking ability, it isn't interactive or fun for the survivor. Do they even know that they're being tracked? I know it's weird to say something like that for such a weak killer but devs care about how fun it is to play against a killer in addition to playing as the killer.

Interesting concept for a killer, but definitely needs a rework.

    Now, perks:

Hands Off: I'm okay with this one. Decent perk for decent information, though might be outclassed by other perks.

Stay With Me: Would be a neat perk, except Rancor exists.

Keepsake: Idk about being able to use this with BBQ. And 20 second linger is a bit weird, it should only take them 10 seconds to unhook. Instadowns for pretty much free is a bit too strong, I think. Especially with Nemesis being able to control who your obsession is.

  • Okay, since you didn't state the max I'm assuming it's 9 stacks (everyone hooked once + 3 survivors hooked twice and 2 survivors sacrificed) for... 135% penalty? Yeah we're gonna need a max amount of stacks. 6 at the very most (for 90% penalty, which is... like 10 seconds, if unhooking takes 1 second?).

Unless 4 is supposed to be the max?

The problem with this perk is that it makes face camping way too easy. Even with one stack the killer can probably hit you twice before you can finish unhooking.

  • Breakable walls are being added for all killers in like 2 weeks, so this killer wouldn't be too special.

Free blood warden at the start of the endgame is pretty OP.

Idk how I feel about being able to break god pallet at the beginning of the game, or both basement pallets in Gideon.

  • @gatsby said:

Not really. Because you have to take a hit to use it. Sprint Burst is on demand every 40 seconds and you can use it to avoid hits in the first place

Exhaustion Perks avoid damage. This perk makes the best of a bad chase. And you can only use it once per chase like exhaustion perks since you can't get hit twice without being downed most of the time (unless you have mettle or styptic)

Except it doesn't cause exhaustion so you get free distance that you can stack with an exhaustion perk like Sprint Burst or DH. And unless you're playing in 2016, Sprint Burst is not "on demand every 40 seconds".

  • Ruin = "(Hex:) UwUin". I don't know when I started calling it that but I hate myself for it.

    Prove Thyself = "Rush Thyself"

Aftercare = "Buddy Perk" because whenever someone uses it on me we become buddies.

    Botany Knowledge = "F L O W E R"

Dark Sense = "Dank Sense", Dark Devotion = "Dank Devotion". I replace any instance of "Dark" with "Dank" because I have the maturity of a 6 year old.

    Bamboozle = "Bambizzle"

Devour Soap's a classic, though I take it one step further. If I get a 5 stack, 4 mori game I consider it a Mouthwash Victory.

  • Technically a killer main here, but about a third of my games are survivor.

I don't usually use map offerings that my build doesn't require, but sometimes I want to prove a point or do an experiment.

When Ruin was gutted I brought No Mither, Resilience, Spine Chill, and Prove Thyself with a purple toolbox and a Red Forest offering just to see how fast gens can go. Of course, I also changed my name to "Just Pressure Gens Lol"

Yeah, I hate getting to 95% and being picked up. Like, there goes that.

I think you should at least get survival points for recovering so it's not completely wasted.

  • Solo survivors and weak killers.

For solos, give them more info that SWF already has access to.

For weaker killers, fixing maps would go a long way.

  • > implying all Survivors and exclusively Survivors want the game to be balanced.

Well yeah, but being in the mindset of "all builds must have X perk" is bad. BBQ is good for bloodpoints, but limiting yourself too 3 perks will limit what you can do.

Well until we get more BP perks, are options are use 3 perks or get half bloodpoints.

  • @BunnyTheHutt said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1114238#Comment_1114238

BBQ is pretty overrated IMO, a better aura perk would be Bitter Murmer, Hex: Retribution when its out, or I'm all ears. They do BBQ's job much better, and if you need bloodpoints I'd use offerings, Won't get 100% in everything, but if you have a killer who's power dependant like Huntress or Wraith then using a few devious offerings will build up bloodpoints fast.

People use it for the BPs. Even with other BP offerings it's still a lot better to have BBQ as well.

  • You'll probably want PYWF/Nemesis if you want to perform well, but yeah he's pretty fun.

  • I usually run Resilience and Spine Chill with No Mither. Last time my final perk was OoO but if I needed to play it all the time I would use DH or DS

  • Scratched Mirror Myers.

My objective is not to win, but to get as many spooks as possible.

  • Feel like the J in S & J would stand for Jack. Sounds like a fake name Ace would come up with, since it's the name of a card.

  • "Irish-born" probably just means Irish. Back then, I don't think they cared whether they were actually born in Ireland. It's also a story from hundreds of years ago, so the details are bound to get fuzzy.

  • There are plenty of good add-ons for Demo. Ones that add more portals, increase speed of portal travel, and decrease cooldown of portal travel are all good.

As for perks, Save the Best for Last is amazing on Demogorgon. If the survivor is the Obsession, just use Shred and you won't lose any stacks. Once you have enough stacks, you can hit a survivor with your basic attack and then Shred them almost immediately after.

Corrupt Intervention can give you time to set up your web of portals, which is nice.

Pop Goes the Weasel and BBQ & Chili are also both good since you can use your portals to instantly go to where survivors are and Pop the gens.

  • @Biggs said:

becasue dlc was rushed and ofc wasnt tested by normal players who would instantly know after few tested game what are his problems.. yes almost 90 % addons are not weak but just bad and useless.. he should have been reworked long time ago but you know its not a priority :)

Every new killer is tested in a PTB. Devs listened to feedback and changed one of his add-ons (the one that made Shred break pallets, which is now basekit). He's not a bad killer by any means, as long as you know how to play him.

  • Bubbanda was born in a farm house in the middle of nowhere. Horrified by the half-pig, half-man, half-woman creature before him, Bubbanda's father killed his wife and locked Bubbanda in the cellar. Bubbanda lived in the cellar for years, being fed through a slot in the cellar door and hearing little from their father.

Eventually, Bubbanda began to hear voices. The voices promised Bubbanda freedom, and more importantly, revenge. Bubbanda grew to be more familiar with the voices in their head than the voice of their father. Bubbanda was willing to do anything the voices requested.

One day, the voices were louder than usual. Bubbanda's father forgot to close the slot in the door. Using various objects in the cellar, and with the help of the voices, Bubbanda picked the lock to the cellar door and escaped. Bubbanda ate well that night.

Following the instructions of the voices, Bubbanda found small towns and farms where there was fresh meat ready for the slaughter. It was months before the deaths were noticed, and by the time investigations began, Bubbanda had already disappeared without a trace.

But as I said all paid killers can throw you in one hit and Freddy is a very strong killer without it being necessary for him throw you in one hit and the pig is the weakest killer considering that you have to pay for her 🤔

I consider her the weakest stealth killer, but definitely not the weakest killer. That would be Legion or Clown. And a one hit down doesn't always make a good killer. Leatherface is weaker than Pig and you also have to pay for him.

  • This game isn't pay to win lol

  • Survivors were designed to be skins. Having different passives would mean high rank survivors would play the same survivor every game (as there would most certainly be only 1-2 that have the best effect(s)).

And I'm sure a lot of players would be upset that they spent all of their bloodpoints in their favorite survivor only to find that their effect is weaker than the other survivors.

  • @a_good_player said:

Actually the type of control you use changes the game a lot. And thinking of balancing the same game for console users and pc users is just stupid. A controller is way worse than a keyboard, and that's not so hard to understand. That said, devs should just balance differently the game on various platforms

The game should be mostly the same, except maybe a few subtle mechanical differences to make controller users have an easier time playing the game.

  • I've gotten it to work a few times. Sometimes I bait enough swings from the killer to get the save without taking a hit.

  • You ever had a killer you just don't like playing? Like for me it's Hag or new Freddy and if I get a ritual for them I'm just like "meh, I really don't feel like playing this killer right now."

Yeah, right now I feel like that but for the game in general.

  • There's plenty of passive perks. The problem with Up the Ante is that luck is pretty useless in most situations.

Honestly it would be more of a gamble if you got increased effects as survivors die rather than starting out with the maximum effects.

Either way, it should definitely do something other than increasing luck.
