I feel like Clown gets slept on in a lot of these. He's literally what everyone hated about Skull Merchant in the massive speed differentials he creates.
His 4v1 isn't the best but you don't loop a clown, you predrop the entire map until he catches you so if you're on a map with a lower pallet count good luck if you don't get the gens done in the first 5 minutes of the game.

I've been on forums where mods have to approve the thread before it's actually visible.
Just a thought.
-
I can't believe you would doom us all like that.
-
Nobody tell them about Chucky.
-
I've actively tried to play nice in the past and just gotten toxicity for my trouble. So now I'm not playing with the intention of being toxic but I will slug and tunnel if I think it will get me the 4k, some people don't care some people lose their minds either way I'm just trying to play the best game I can there's no hate involved I'm just doing my thing. I don't even have the "I'm not responsible for your fun" mentality because if the environment was different I would play more chill I just refuse to be a punching bag for no reason.

Oh nice the PS2 port released.

Nurse continuing to dodge nerfs like she's Neo from the matrix.

Double posted for some reason

Meh
So like WoO is a good perk I think the it's for beginners only argument is extremely silly. Knowing where the pallets and windows are to chain together is good information to have.
At the same time I don't think it's nerf worthy. To say that it is is to suggest optimal looping is uncounterable and if you're good at your killer and playing anyone B tier or above there's usually something you can do to throw the survivor off that pathing and get hits.

and killer mains dont want survivors to have perks which also sounds like a skill issue. Have you commented on any of the recent "survivor perks need nerfed" posts from the past 24 hours? No. Interesting
Lol I wasn't aware I needed to. For the record I don't think any survivor perks stick out to me as needing a nerf at the moment and I also commented on a thread a few days ago that WGLF/MfT is fine and nowhere near as bad as Buckle Up/FtP so it's like very weird you put the past 24 hour stipulation there.
-
I think we should hide the survivors during the game too, and the killer....and the map. DBD will now take place in an entirely blue/grey skybox where everyone is invisible.

I've played as her in tournaments and scrims multiple times. Following a good Hag and disarming doesn't work. What actually works is holding W up edge map and dying in corners away from the web. I've encountered that maybe once in the last year or two in public matches.
Okay and I'm saying as someone who mains the character and is very aware the average survivor is clueless against her she sucks lol and most other Hag mains would agree with me. Just because she can pub stomp doesn't make her good, most killers can stomp in pubs. If you actually play against good survivors it is a miserable experience a lot of the time because her power literally just does not work if the survivors know the trigger range and how to avoid a hit after triggering a trap. It is so bad that not even coup guarantees a hit if they do it right.
Not to mention they can also just disarm traps if they feel like it if you're not patrolling your traps which defeats the purpose of them in the first place and you're mostly stuck protecting a 3 or 4 gen setup which is now much much weaker now that BHVR put a regression event limit on gens. Hag has serious mechanical limitations that need to be addressed because she is the only 110 killer in DBD that does not either have a mobility power or a ranged power making her chase literally the worst in the entire game. You are completely dependent on survivors following the path you predict they'll run which is fine that's what makes Hag unique but then you don't even get the hit if you predict correctly making her just nonfunctional. If a killer is reliant on survivors messing up rather than succeeding through outplaying them then that killer is not good.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Do people really think Hag is bad? What are people doing on Hag? She can completely shut down half the map and snowball like crazy if you know how to set traps. She's really not that bully-able if you know how to play her at a high level
This isn't really true unless you're against soloQ survivors. If against a SWF or really good soloQ players all it takes is one person following you around wiping all your traps to ruin your game. Not to mention it is entirely possible to trigger a trap and get out of range for a hit rather consistently. Hag really only thrives on there being one really bad survivor or being able to hook trade reliably.
Out of all the killers in the game Hag is probably the only one where the survivors dictate how strong your power is because unless you're playing chase hag you have zero ability to go after survivors proactively so you need survivors that don't know how to deal with traps.

I suppose I fall into the skill expression camp but in a different way from what you're describing. It's why despite not being very popular I love killers like Singularity, Twins, Pinhead because the level of macro knowledge needed to play those characters well is enjoyable to me on both sides and will forever be more engaging to me than dodging a wesker, chucky or legion who basically all do variations of the same exact thing. The idea that the entire map and all survivors are in play at all times is so engaging rather than 1 survivor is in chase and 3 others go do gens.
I feel killers with global abilities is where the future of this game should go and why when Freddy gets reworked being in the dream world does something passively for all survivors rather than just be a requisite for Freddy to use his power in the first place. But on the subject of chucky I don't love his power either wat but definitely prefer current chucky as just losing a chase cuz "lolscamper" feels terrible and DBD is a game first and if you play enough the feeling of horror will leave but the chase and the mind games of chase will always be there.
That being said you can do both and I think Unknown is proof of that. Unknown will always be just a little bit unsettling from their music to their sound effects to the anticipation of being able to dispel a hallucination before they can teleport, there will always be a lot of tension with Unknown while at the same time mechanically Unknown is one of the most fun killers we got in years and on that PTB I saw more interest and excitement from experienced streamers trying to do trick shots with Unknown than I have in literal years and that was so nice to see. So I really do think you can have both.
-
I main Lara because I like her tribal outfits, I wish we got more primitive looking outfits for survivors instead of all of them looking like a neon sign.
-
128 but I took a break when the ptb changes first got announced and have only played like 2 games since.

Because Killer role increasingly braindead with every Nerf that happens to Survivor. Killer should learn how to Track and search Survivor instead of crutching on Aura.
A lot of killers don't even use aura perks they've only increased recently due to the nerf is slowdown perks. Also what survivor nerfs? Survivor has only been getting buffs recently. But no one perk is slightly worse and it's the end of the world, give me a break.
-
I'm mostly good with this honestly but the thing I have a problem with is she should not be slowed down when deploying a drone because the way the haste works now rewards players for learning how to laser tag except no it doesn't because the haste just cancels the debuff instead of properly rewarding the killer. I think if they changed that SM would honestly be in a pretty okay place for now but I think with these changes she's just Low C High D tier instead of literally F tier.
-
I don't know why but survivors melting down when they have to earn their perk is so funny to me. You still start with the two tokens the perk is still good and will still get 1-2 more tokens over the course of the game or 3 tokens if you're actually good at chase. I don't know what people are crying about you just don't get unlimited aura hiding now.

Also, ever thought about why are they censoring stuff in a 18+ game?
Hell, I've seen some 16+ games just going full on micro-bikini with 0 censoring.
I know about China and some of their restrictions… But man…
NGL I think part of it is BHVR knows their playerbase skews under 18+ so they would never do anything that wasn't actually PG13.
-
It's decent just in terms of wasting the survivor's time and it gets even better if you can kill a survivor that knows where a lit pentimento is.
It's probably the only reason hexes are at all viable at the moment.
-
It's selfish to do gens? Idk if you know but doing gens is how you escape and the "selfless" player following the killer around with a flashlight is probably sabotaging their entire team by not being time efficient.
-
This is just plain unethical by BHVR, characters get nerfed all the time that's fine but activity saying "we're gonna make this character people paid for and has cosmetics people paid for purposefully awful and just leave them like that for a year or more" is a very different thing and I feel like people should now need to think twice before buying content for this game if this actually goes through because this is bordering on scamming the players.
-
I'm convinced it's mostly just 20 to 30 really loud people on Twitter. Haddie was never popular and she never will be, she actually has some decent cosmetics people just don't like the character.
-
And welcome to why the SM changes are so terrible because now survivors think if they ask for it enough they can get every killer completely neutered.
I don't even like chucky but nobody deserves what SM is going through right now. 10 second cooldown is a little aggressive but I don't think Chucky actually needs any changes at the moment, I'm not familiar enough with his add-ons to really comment on them but at least base kit he doesn't seem too bad.
-
I am absolutely expecting massive nerfs for both of them. BHVR have shown they're willing to dumpster killers if survivors complain enough and both Plague and Cenobite are considered pub stompers. I take small solace in the fact plague might finally get chase music though.
-
I'm convinced survivors just don't want killers to have perks.
They already gutted slowdown are you really going to complain about perks that are only oppressive if you don't know how to loop? This sounds like a skill issue.

Again, this is really #########, like unbelievably ######### and for a moment I would like anyone reading this to disregard the fact that it is skull merchant and understand this
You invest a lot of blood points into a character, a lot of time invested to level her up, and the developers of the game gut her, absolutely kill her with no sense of balance and rather break her legs. Don’t worry! They will rework her, they said so!in 1-2 years, teehee,
Im also not gonna pretend that the developers are going to see the significantly reduced kill rates and completely throw away the rework, they have done it before with legion twice so my hopes are absolutely abysmally low
At this rate, the more I learn, the more I just want her kill switched and refunded my auric cells and blood points, im already picking up a new main (Doctor is fun ngl) I would like a refund for all my wasted blood points at the very least!Yeah I think it sets an extremely bad precedent that BHVR is okay completely dumpstering killers until they feel like working on them again.
Like for BHVR this is just one killer out of a few dozen so they don't care but for the players this is their main that got trashed until further notice and now they have to find a new main. Personally I think BHVR doing this is extremely tone deaf but it's probably not gonna change anytime soon.
-
Idk what twitch chat this is from but this was posted on Reddit today so the dumpstering of Skull Merchant seems to be intentional.
-
Honestly with the direction BHVR is going with recent changes I'd expect nerfs tbh.

But the entity has rules, if the victims have earned their chance to escape, it doesn’t allow the killers to pass through the door. It grants rights to survivors and killers when conditions are met (such as locking generators, closing windows, etc.). It also considers the offerings presented to it. I think this makes it lawful, because a neutral evil character wouldn’t care about any of this.
On the other hand, its focus on its own interests and committing evil acts against everyone makes it, as you said, neutral evil.
I think the Entity has a alignment between Lawful Evil and Neutral Evil.
Having rules doesn't automatically make a character lawful. Generally lawful characters create laws and rules to shape a society they want to create and rule over. The entity's rules more create a natural law for the realm and all of it is done so the entity can get a better meal. The fact that it seems to mostly be thinking with it's stomach rather than having a greater overarching plan to create any sort of civilization is what makes me lean towards neutral.
-
Neutral Evil, it only cares about consuming. It clearly causes suffering purposefully so it can feed off it but I don't think it really cares about ruling or causing chaos. It mostly acts like a very intelligent animal tbh.
-
I do think it's very funny when survivors complain about me tunneling when I want to go for the unhooker but the recently unhooked person insists on body blocking me because they just have to get use out of basekit BT or DS. At that point of course I'm going to tunnel because the injured person is now more vulnerable but according to survivors no clearly I'm only doing that to be mean lmao.
-
I can't punish survivors for being greedy with gens which doesn't seem like good design from my own play as killer and what I'm seeing playing survivor this has decreased camping but increased tunneling.
-
Idk if Trapper who's literally just a guy can defy the entity for ages who knows how long Alucard would have been able to do it for. From a lore perspective I get why just taking all of Alucard's powers and throwing them in with the rest of the survivors was easier for the entity to do.
-
I've played this kinda build on twins a few times and it does seem effective but it's a lot of micromanaging slugs and it just turns into whack-a-mole after a while so I don't find it that fun.
I do think if you have the patience however it could very well be meta just unpopular do to how much work the build is. To hear it's taking off in Asia doesn't surprise me one bit as they've always been hyper focused on efficiency.
-
Honestly even if it just made you do hexes and blessing 10% faster BEFORE it was lit it would be miles better if still niche. They literally put out the worst possible version of this perk.
-
It's hard to tell of they're just playing to the stereotype or if the stereotype was always correct.
-
Maps aren't balanced though. They were balanced but BHVR keeps touching them and they broke again. A lot of maps either have too many pallets or not enough and so e of the new jungle gyms are very questionable.
-
@MaddieMage said:
They also destroyed Haddonfield by making it smaller, removing buildings and creating dead zones with garbage pallets that can’t be used for anything. Even after the horrible feedback they pushed it live anyway.
Yeah Haddonfield is the mirror version of Ormond where it was kinda balanced even if frustrating for both sides but now it's just one big dead zone and playing survivor sucks on that map.
I'm very scared for the Swamp rework with what they've been doing with maps recently. Greenville especially is an abomination with the number of pallets that map has with the size.
-
Ask an executioner main if they struggle with tunneling at all. There isn't really a fix to this, 4v1 is survivor sided but 3v1 is killer sided but slow the game down so killers could spread hooks if they wanted and they most likely won't. Maybe if the game was centered around torturing the survivors instead of killing that rebalance would result in something less sweaty but that will never happen.
-
Dredge feels a lot smoother to play and locked lockers aren't nearly as frustrating as they used to be. Unfortunately you're still entirely map dependent with lockers with a middle of the road antiloop power.
I don't think they move in the tier list at all but if you enjoy Dredge they're even more enjoyable now.
-
I mean it's the same for Lara and Ada, they're both pretty adept at martial arts so they could probably take on some of the weaker killers like pig and legion even unarmed.
It's just the limits of game design.

Don't have to worry about bruising an ego?
Don't have to worry about being farmed for content?
Don't have to worry about lobby shopping?
Don't have to worry about emotionally driven gameplay?
And I get to leave whenever I want and bm as much as I want?
Sign me up.
Talking about BMing a bot is one of the most cooked things I've ever read on here lmao.

I've seen a huge uptick in person going to second stage because nobody is going to rescue recently. Absolutely no idea what's behind it but it does feel like overall survivor skill level is plummeting in recent weeks.

I feel like to me personally the issue is slowdown in general. IMO gen slowdown and gen repair speed buffs should both be gutted and gen speeds should just be standardized and consistent so the game can be balanced around other things instead. I never run slowdown because I find it to make games extremely boring, like even if they helped me clutch a win against a super sweaty gen rush squad I didn't exactly have fun stressing in a match like that, whereas if I hadn't steamrolled a below average team with my slowdown Perks that probably would've been a more fair, chill match. But that's just how I like playing. I understand why other players feel like slowdown is a necessity. I just think it shouldn't be THE meta period.
Kinda vibe with this, I still run pain res because running no slowdown is asking to lose with perks like deja vu, resilience and prove theyself so present but if gen speed buffs and gen regression didn't exist I actually think the game could be balanced a lot easier. Unfortunately I think we're too far down this road and it'll be impossible to get either out of the meta without a 6.1 style patch.
-
It's just number tweaks, hopefully they're making it take longer to get rid of weakened.
