But he could always do that. He was and always could be on you anytime when you were infected. That's nothing new. its not because of recent changes.

Disagree, the new brown makes a massive difference as it gives him considerably more range across the entire map. If all pods are out it's 32 extra meters of coverage across the map if they're spaced evenly.

  • I don't like doing it but in the current meta it's necessary.

  • Nerfing gen regression made the tunneling issue worse because now the only viable gen regression is pain res which is barely even enough in most cases so you kinda have to tunnel to make the game a 3v1 as quickly as possible.

I don't hate the survivor meta rn but I do hate if I try to be nice and spread hooks out 4 gens pop before anyone is dead.

I hear what you are saying but I still wouldn't recommend running this perk. There is no guarantee that you will be alive when there are two gens left or that once you charge up Potential Energy that you won't get hit before you can use it. Even in the ideal situation there is a valid argument to be made that it would have just been more efficient to finish your gen and run over and assist with the last gen. But yes, if the killer's game plan was to hold a 3 gen then this strategy might make a difference. It just seems like it is far more likely to get little to no practical value.

So while I understand what you're saying and yes you are correct there's no guarantee to get value from the perk the same could be said of Adrenaline a perk that even in it's nerfed state is one of the most commonly run perks.

As far as the situation where it's useful not coming up yes 3 genning is less common than it used to be but a situation that is common is when there's one gen left and one gen has all the progress while the other two are at nothing, Potential Energy let's you push that contested gen over the edge instead of having to start on one of the gens with no progress letting you power the doors much faster. I'm not trying to claim Potential Energy is a meta perk or anything but compared to most survivor perks that barely have any impact Potential Energy can change a game completely when used right.

  • Yes it's getting nerfed in November but unlike others here I will tell you to buy killers for perks because trying to play killer without good perks just isn't enjoyable and you could be waiting a year plus for what you want to show up in the shrine.

BUT you have to be cost effective buying a killer for one perk isn't the best investment so here's a few killers with multiple good perks.

Artist-Funny because nobody plays her but Pain Res and Grim Embrace are two of the best perks in the game and work on every killer, I'd almost call her a must buy. Pentimento is also great if you enjoy Hex builds.

Hag/Blight- Your Hex starter pack if you enjoy that kinda thing they're both good buys.

Plague- Corrupt is a fantastic perk and infectious is great on snowballing killers but it's also just good in general if you wanna know if someone is in range of a flashlight save.

Nemesis - This is a weird one. Lethal is great but requires perks from other killers to really shine and Eruption is only good not great. He still gets a mention because two pretty good perks is still better than what most killers get.

Cenobite - Deadlock is a great stall perk and Plaything is pretty decent slowdown as well especially when paired with pentimento.

Clown used to be on this list but I don't think he's worth it anymore. Pop is a joke now and Bamboozle is mostly overrated IMO because Windows is so popular if you block a window the survivor will know where to go next anyway.

  • Killers get less cosmetics in general because you don't see them in game as much and SM and Trickster get more skins cuz well....look at them.

the other killer goes out of his way to take my down so i get less blood points and he even tho i let him take his down i want blood points too instead of 18k per game cause going around stealing cages

If you're not getting at least 25k per game you have a lot more problems than your teammate "stealing" your downs. Like there is no reason not to max out on hunting and brutality every game.

  • My guy you are literally on the same team what is this petty nonsense you're spouting?

  • If there's only one hook in an area and a survivor goes down there you're not creating a dead zone by sacrificing them on that hook if that's your only option, the dead zone was already there. This is basically just a band-aid fix to the bad hook spawn logic on certain maps, Swamp and Midwich come immediately to mind.

  • I will literally settle for them just taking away map offerings. If I get taken to Garden one more gd time...

  • 1. DBD community is already full of children.

    2. From what I can tell it seems like all the FNAF games are rated T so nobody is following the ratings system anyway so who cares.

  • -2v8 got an overwhelmingly positive response and you shouldn't be surprised it got extended like that was obvious the moment we saw a ton of comments calling for 2v8 to be permanent.

-Outfits in DBD have always been colorful? I don't get this point not to mention most people don't like hiding and want to be chased so how vibrant their outfit is is largely irrelevant.

I don't really see what any of this has to do with fortnite? Granted I know very little about it but from the little I do know DBD doesn't seem to becoming like fortnite at all although I've seen the claim a lot lately. I feel like people realized DBD isn't dying anytime soon and know they can't be taken seriously claiming that so now the new doomsaying line DBD is turning into fortnite which can basically be translated to "I don't like this thing added to DBD" and has nothing to actually do with fortnite.

  • Clown seems like one of the easier killers to adapt honestly.

Smelly inner soles and the cork basekit, aura reveal on intoxicated survivors and yellow bottles work on your teammate.

Just a guess on what they'd do.

  • NGL a couple times I queued for killer in 2v8 I actually fell asleep from having to wait so long.

  • I think Dracula's powers are all pretty balanced.

Vampire form is a pretty middle of the road antiloop power.

Wolf form is great tracking and a great counter to hold W but struggles in loop.

Bat form is great mobility but you can't physically see survivors.

You have something for every situation but use the wrong form in a situation and you're gonna get punished with cooldowns or not being equipped correctly.

im not trying to demonise people who would buy this chapter. i just think if they never sell the chapter at all, then i never have to worry about someone using it the same way people used to use bubba's smartface cosmetic (especially with all the pride charms people are wearing nowadays) and i don't have to worry about playing a game that helped give money to someone who publicly gives financial and verbal support to a fascist.

it's not "people who buy this are bigots". it's "bhvr shouldnt support a bigot and funnel money towards a bigot".

Again I actually don't think it's fair to label Scott a bigot just form other donations he's made, everything I've read has lead me to believe his big issues are abortion and "national security against foreign threats" and the positions of those politicians on LGBTQ rights are an after thought to Scott. Also FNAF actually has a huge LGBTQ community within it so it's extremely likely to run into in the future someone playing presumably Springtrap and having a bunch of pride charms on their hooks and meaning it. I think the most accurate way you could put it is "I don't want my money going to someone I don't agree with politically and donates money to people that don't support the LGBTQ community" and that's completely fair. It might seem like splitting hairs to a degree but I think pointing out that difference is important to making a good faith argument.

  • I totally get the idea of Scott being insensitive to the LGBTQ community by way of his political donations and that's a fair criticism to make of him but to actively say Scott hates the LGBTQ community well…..I'm not sure how many people like that donate $50k to the Trevor Project. I do think this issue is much much more complicated than people make it out to be but in the age of social media people have trouble with nuance. I don't agree with Scott's political positions but he's not a demon for not agreeing with me or you politically and there's every chance the money he does get from this will wind up at a charity like the Trevor Project or St. Judes, is it possible it goes to a republican PAC instead? Of course but it wouldn't be the first time my money goes to something I don't support like every war and military intervention we've been in since I started working and paying taxes. At the end of the day it's totally understandable if someone doesn't want to give money to Scott but demonizing BHVR or people who do want to buy the chapter goes way too far IMO.

  • We sort of tried this when it was free on epic games. Long story short it created an awful hacker problem and a lot of DDoSing and it was hard to stop because if a hacker got banned they could just make a new account for free.

  • NGL the only donation to a Democrat being Tulsi Gabbard is so funny considering where she wound up.

Also everything I've read makes me think Scott is indifferent to LGBTQ people and his main issue is abortion which his position is still abhorrent but I have a feeling people wouldn't be making the same uproar of that was actually the focus.

There is no "overwhelming majority". Just some people who were very, very loud that they want their franchise in the game. Up to the point of just being outright annoying.

Disagree, looking across all social media I would say the majority are very hyped for this just objectively speaking.

  • I am so ready for the chaos this will cause.

  • Voting calling Freddy P2W best DBD meme of 2024.

  • I genuinely find it offensive to call it SA. It's cringe for sure but it's not even in the same universe as actual SA.

  • Leverage will probably just be a longer timer

Crowd Control is weird cuz it's kinda pushed already it's just hexes are too unreliable. I don't know what they could do without making it busted.

Blood Rush will maybe be will work after every hook.

Pharmacy is probably to make it work like other item perks and make the med kit a rummage.

Scene Partner I really hope is to make it work with hardened.

Shadowborn just needs a new effect the current one makes no sense.

  • Oh god they're touching Twins again.

Also Plague and Cenobite were both very low on my list of killers that need changes so that's weird.

  • Okay I think there is one change being underestimated now that I'm doing the math. The teleport speed change is actually insane. First off it's even faster than Dredge is now with Boat Key equipped and on average your teleports are going to be 2 seconds faster which is going to add up and for comparison it's only going to be slightly slower than a Demo teleport.

Assuming the average cross map teleport takes roughly 5 seconds right now you can do 4 cross map teleports a minute and with the changes to cool down and teleport speed you can do 5 cross map teleports per minute.

So I think you're definitely going to be able to save gens you weren't before which is massive but the rest of the changes are meh. We're getting half a malthinker's skull, half an ottomarian writing and 75% of a calendar. None of these add-ons were busted we just needed them to make Dredge feel good to play.

I know but i know you have us vs them in your dictionary that is wrong definition and prob have it posted on your wall

Its killer patch not alot of buffs to survivors

Okay see I agree with that but that goes against your entire thread here because it's 1 killer buff and technically 3 survivor buffs. So what makes the patch we got and the hypothetical patch I made up so different to you?

  • @legiondoctor said:

Can i answer without being called us vs them? For you know being truthful?

I did ask it for you to answer it yes.

i get we should buff survivors more and not buff the other side. we should have 10 more patches of buffs to survivors cause thats why this patch is so good small buffs to killers and alot of buffs to perks to survivors

I honestly can't tell if you're trolling or not. Okay let's try a thought exercise. Imagine the following patch,

Killers get pallet breaks 75% faster

    Survivors get

Gens take 89 seconds to complete from 90 seconds

Speed burst duration from getting injured up to 1.9 seconds from 1.8

Survivor running speed increased to 4.01m/s from 4.0m/s

Would you call that patch killer or survivor sided?

DMS hardly enable camping because you needs to pressure survivors just like ruin, and "rewarding for failing" is never a bad design in it's core

MFT's problem was extremely strong effect, extremely easy condition and no counter nature, not the way it worked

This used to be the case but has changed since pain res and the grim embrace rework happened. Not to mention how often survivors let go to go to hook. I'm really not a fan of passive slowdown if it's not a part of the killer's kit. In perk form it just comes across as very lazy the exception being Ruin because at least that you need to actively defend the totem.

I know right why buff both sides hell give more buffs to survivors they need like kate said its been killer sided since launch

That's not remotely what I said and if that's what you got from what I wrote I worry for your reading comprehension skills.

  • I think the tools for anti-tunnel are there just they're not often run because they're altruistic perks which don't get run as much because soloQ players have trust issues about their teammates.

I wouldn't buff them anymore but I would nerf killer perks that enable camping like deadlock and DMS. Deadlock is just bad game design like old MFT it's rewarding the killer passively for failing. DMS needed to be changed ages ago, it feels like that perk causes a new issue every 5-6 months. If a killer is going to do nothing but stare at a survivor on a hook the gens should fly because they're doing nothing to stop them. In addition we should buff perks like Surge that encourage chasing, the design is good it just deserves a larger reward.

  • I think the thing I hate most about OP's argument is that it's actually really bad for the game because it sends the message that the quality of the buffs/nerfs don't matter only that both sides have an equal number of changes which is such an elementary understanding of game balance.

  • The key difference between Dredge's antiloop and old scamper was old scamper was nearly instant and pretty much impossible to react to. In comparison Dredge needs time to setup their antiloop and it's extremely telegraphed and still makes you slower than the survivor so given that no I don't think it will be anything close to OP.

I don't know that I see anything that really makes me think Dredge will be significantly better. They just have more freedom with their add-on choice because now you're not as dependent on ottomarian writing, malthinker skull and calendar.

  • Ah yes I can't wait for the overwhelming pebble and mirrored illusion meta that's definitely coming.

  • I feel like I'm the only person that never paid any attention to prestige, most p100s arn't that good.

  • This just in survivors complain the total darkness killer makes the game too dark, more at 11.

  • I mean it's the right direction but I'm not sure if it's going to be super meaningful. Someone who wants to do nothing but camp with deadlock/grim embrace/DMS is still going to do that.

  • She's already not good so I can't imagine making her worse without making her Freddy tier.

I think remove the haste since that's a band-aid from originally trying to fix her and just make the claw traps always apply hinder and it's a good trade. Also an add-on pass so people can stop complaining about status effects.

  • My understanding is it's linked directly to spending BP so I wouldn't do that for the time being.

  • Okay I said yes but not as a chapter only as cosmetic collab like AoT.

  • Just always take yourself to Midwich and they're A tier.*

*= for legal purposes this is a joke I do not endorse the use of map offerings.

  • @sinkra said:

If you refuse to queue as survivor then you're part of the problem because you're contributing to long queues.

    What an absolutely insane take.

    1. I do queue as survivor

    2. I don't even necessarily like playing 2v8 that much

    3. I was merely pointing out that not wanting to wait in a 20 minute queue was reasonable and telling killer players they're "sabotaging" anything because they're voicing their complaints is completely unreasonable

  • There's nothing predatory about BHVR marketing their new game in there other game that the new game is canonically related to.

As far BHVR's new focus on the marketplace I kinda get it, most of the original characters are dirt cheap now so the real money is from cosmetics and in all fairness adding the feature to preview different mix and matched sets is pretty considerate of them. If BHVR really wanted to be scumbags and be predatory they could have not added that and forced people to buy each individual outfit if they wanted to see different combinations.

The game may break a lot and the balance may be questionable at times but I never really thought outside of the Pinhead NFT fiasco BHVR had bad business practices especially compared to many other companies.

  • Sabotaging is when you don't like waiting in 20 minute queues.

  • The forums have convinced me people will do whatever they can to be miserable.

As for me oddly enough I think 2v8 is more balanced than regular DBD in a weird both sides are so outrageous that it balances itself out kinda way and I've had huge stomps in both directions. I just hope they add more classes to survivor and I can play Hag on the next iteration.

  • Tonight I had a game on Gas Heaven and there was a missing wall and you could access the the outside of the map and even a hook spawned out there. I wasn't brought there and thought it was funny so I brought the survivors out there and we goofed around and they left, I also learned if you fall off the map you return to where you spawned.

But every game since then survivors keep trying to take me to autohaven every single game and it's 50/50 if it spawns messed up or not. Please killswitch the map this is a serious game integrity issue.

    1. Nurse wasn't in the game yet
    2. Trapper used to be decent on release, not top tier or anything but very playable due there being better grass on maps.
    3. BHVR never releases a killer thinking they're gonna be terrible (although in certain cases I wonder how).
  • It came across as the weakest class to me when everyone is going for saves and healing the minor healing boost seemed not impactful. The healing needs to be on the level of Botany to really be worth it, 35% is just not good enough.
