Easy fix, make killer less hellish to play. Especially on console with terrible frps and optimization.

1 killer = 4 survivors.
That would mean there's like 20x or more people are playing surv over killer right now,
Yeah, and what I'm saying is that the ratio of survivors to Killers is definitely WAY higher than 4 to 1. Survivors can play with their friends, can talk to each other, and have the (somewhat) easier job. Common sense that so many people would choose to play that role.
-
Yikes.
-
Cuz more people play survivor. A LOT more.
-
This is all I want for christmas.

It’s worth noting that Flip Flop has the “No Mither” effect. Once a killer realises a survivor has it, they won’t leave them slugged again. So regardless of any buffs or changes, survivors still need to accept that they’ll effectively get one use out of the perk.
True, but one use is still better than none. Even with the 1:1 progression, it's still a relatively weak perk.

Flip Flop - just make it so that the wiggle progression transfers 1:1 and cap it at 50%
Buckle up - You can still see the auras, and maybe if someone is fully recovered (at 95%), you can pick them up from afar instead of directly healing them.
I've wanted this change for flip flop since it came out. Would make it a hell of a lot more useful.
-
It's actually helped me as a killer. I've caught several people who were not expecting the bushes.
-
-
I was wondering about Haddonfield. Played a match there earlier, and I was like, "Were these bushes always here?"
Got me a couple free hits though when survivors got trapped by them though!😆
-
As a few others have said, I believe a small range reduction would be justified. Bring it from 36 to 32 meters.
It would still counter stealth, still help in chases with vault speed, and would still tell you if a killer is bee-lining for you or chasing someone else.
But with a 32m range it would no longer give you such a huge early warning even against standard TR Killers.
-
Survivors want to loop.
Hag doesn't loop.
Survivors be mad.
-
I haven't touched killer because of the terrible framerate since the last patch. Only survivor.
I probably wouldn't even do that if I weren't logging in each day for the shards.
-
No. Mediocre rewards for massive grind.

Why are you all so angry? I see thousands of videos and screenshots of ps4 saltiness and rage for dbd almost more than pc, so why it be that way?
Have you ever played this game on PS4? A standard PS4?
IT. SUCKS.
Crappy framerate in general, becoming a slideshow anytime anything important happens. I can not count the number of times I have hit a survivor, and then completely lost them because the game freezes for a second when you connect with a swing. You literally can not see anything. And this also happens when blood lust activates, when a survivor jukes, when a gen is completed, when a survivor is sacrificed, when using certain killers' powers... the list goes on and on.
This is why cross progression for Playstation is a must. I would jump ship to my gaming PC in a second, but don't want to lose 3 years of progress.
-
Devs acting like everything was fine before the patch. Yeah, ok. Sure.
Fix your game.
-
I've honestly never gotten past the mid-30s on any of the rifts.
The challenges are not very much fun and feel way too grindy.
I always have one active, because I just view at as free blood points that might net me a few cosmetics as well. If I complete a challenge, great! Yay blood points.
But yeah, no way am I gonna buy something that would make me hate the game in order to feel like I got my money's worth.
-
Just played a PS4 match on Midwich (worst map in the game) and yeah, it's way worse. I love my new slideshow simulator.
-
I'd love to see the Mom from Dead Alive as a killer and the karate priest as a survivor.

Wait killers can hit instead of doing a gen grab? I always assumed that the killer auto grabbed every time a survivor was on a gen.
You have to lunge, otherwise yeah, it auto grabs.
-
I like how your TLDR is longer than the previous part of your post.

It's muscle memory. If you play enough bubba, you wont have to look down everytime. Always tap m2 first after 4 swipes, then 3 swipes (base bubba).
Yeah, I don't play him all the time, that's why a little change like the ones I suggested would be nice. It wouldn't really make him stronger, just a little less awkward.
-
Are you playing on console? Killer is known to have horrible frame drops on console when going for a hit and the survivor dodges.
Devs have no intention of fixing this, by the way.
-
Ok.
-
Cuz he's in desperate need of an overhaul.
Remove getting caught in his own traps, carry 2 traps base kit, and traps start the match in the open position.
-
Easy fix for Spine Chill. Reduce detection range to 32-28m OR remove action benefits.
Reduced range still counters stealth but not as hard.
Remove action speed boost because the detection is good enough on it's own.
One or the other would be sufficient.
-
Personally, I think a range reduction from 36 to 32 (or maybe 30) would be the only change I would make.
It would still counter stealth Killers, but wouldn't be as detrimental to 32m TR Killers. I just feel that getting notice before you even hear the TR is just unnecessary.
That said, I pretty much always run Spine Chill when I play survivor!
-
Sprint Burst + Quick and Quiet + Lightweight + Spine Chill is my favorite "you will never find me" build.
Let's say you were working on a gen:
Spine chill gives you extra warning that the killer is coming, sprint burst let's you get out of there fast, quick and quiet let's you vault something during your escape without alerting the killer, and lightweight means the scratch marks will already be fading by the time the killer gets to the gen you were working on.
You get huge distance on the killer and plenty of time to walk away once sprint burst wears off and go and hide.
Obviously this doesn't work as great against doc or a legion who's in fenzy and has killer instinct active.
Also, you have no "defense" perks if the killer still manages to find you, but that's the whole point. You're basically counting on the Killer having a hard time even locating you, and wasting a lot of time looking in every bush and locker.

Here's a fix:
Drop the survivor and pick them up again. Then you will USUALLY be able to hook them.
Doesn't always work though. I've had it not work after dropping and picking up. Also, since dropping a survivor fills 25% of their wiggle meter, you're boned if you have to go far for a hook.

I deleted more than 19 comments in the space of 20 minutes, and put a warning that any more would cause the thread to be closed. And within 10 minutes I ended up having to hand out a warning and delete bumps! I don't close threads lightly on this forum, but when people are unable to follow the rules of the forum and wilfully ignore what has been said, they leave myself and the other moderators with no choice.
I don't uninstall games lightly on my PSr, but when people are unable to play the game and devs willfuly ignore legitimate concerns, they leave myself and other players with no choice.
Bye bye for now, DBD.
-
Here's the big ol' FU we were all expecting. Shell out for a new console, ya scrubs! We can't fix our game! Cross progression between the remaining consoles and PC better come soon, because I'm not buying consoles anymore and I'm also not gonna play this game at 10FPS (and that's being generous for killer) on my PS4 anymore.
You want my money? Fix FPS for CURRENT gen, or fast track getting cross progression on all platforms.

I mean - there's the screenshot buddy, them not improving something doesn't mean they aren't trying to work on it?
2 YEARS. REALLY? You think they are working on it when it's been 2 YEARS?
Either they lied or they are incredibly incompetent. You pick which is worse.
-
Every killer match is crap because of the terrible framerate.
Devs don't care. The response of "we let the team know" is either complete BS or evidence of alarming incompetence.
If the devs really didn't know their game runs like dried poop on console then that means they have literally never played their game on console in the last year.
Much more likely, they know. They don't care. "Wait for next gen, scrubs! Keep buying skins!"
No thanks. Uninstalled till we get optimization.
-
Coward devs deleted the mega thread demanding they make their game playable. I just had a match as Demo where every time I charged a shred, the game turned into a slideshow. Fix it. This is the most basic of demands. Make your game playable. Can't believe we have to beg for this.
Pathetic.
-
So we get 250,000 BP for the sync errors, which is all fine and dandy.
How about console players get free BP for putting up with terrible framerate?
-
They got our money. They'll just tell us to get new consoles when they come out or switch to PC. (Which I would do if cross progression existed for PS4)
-
Devs don't understand their own game. That's why the Killers get an offering that guarantees three gens popping during the first chase.
-
The problem with game length is that games are usually decided in the first 2 minutes. Killer didn't get a down within a minute? 3 gens pop and the game ends in 5 min, and everyone gets low BP. Same goes if the killer rocks it and has 2 short chases right off the bat. It's all up to how the killer does in those first few minutes.
It's kinda the main flaw with this game. There's very little either side can do to comeback from a bad start. (But especially Killer) It makes playing out losing matches unfun for both sides.

Did you ever hear the Tragedy of Console Player the wise? I thought not. It's not a story the Devs would tell you. It's a Dead by Daylight legend. Console Player was a valued customer of DBD, so powerful and so wise he could use the Frames to influence the M1's to create hits... He had such a knowledge of the frames that he could even keep the ones he cared about from stuttering. The console side of DBD is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He obtained so many 4k's... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his frames, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught the Devs everything he knew, then the Devs lowered his frames in his sleep. Ironic he could save others from fps drops, but not himself.

I mean who asked for M1 killers to have high mobility ?
My point isn't that he's bad, just that he's boring. (Power-wise.) I was watching Otz's stream, but turned it off after just a little bit. It felt just like watching Legion gameplay.
I was honestly hoping he would make use of the pustules from the old Hallowed Blight events.
He could have planted them and they could grow vines that ensare survivors. Or he collects serum to get more powerful. Something other than just: go fast, hit wall, go fast again.

Let's be real, devs onky responded here to shot their "acknowledgement" and calm is down. But in reality they don't give a single F about "wasting" money optimising dbd but rather think about the next best and easiest way to milk the money out of our pockets.
Honestly, they are probably not going to say anything else about this. They're waiting for the next console generation. As soon as that hits and hopefully they get the okay for cross progression from Sony and MS, their new response will be "Get a new console or move to PC!"
Hopefully cross progression comes before the graphics update, because I bet that will make the game truly unplayable on current consoles.
-
PS4 player here.
A) Cross play is great.
B) Hackers are extremely rare.
C) Turn off cross play yourself of you don't like it. The few who don't like it shouldn't ruin it for the vast majority who've been waiting for cross play for a long time.
D) I'm sure the devs are aware of the hill glitch by now and it will get fixed in due time.
-
You complain about 1 perk partially negating another perk and then suggest that the other perk should COMPLETELY negate the first one...
-
I mean, running that add-on is literally mandatory when playing as him...
So yeah, making it base would be nice so I could actually use some of his other ones without feeling like I'm screwing myself over.
Almost all of his add-ons that deal with portals need improvements as they are super weak.
-
I run spine chill on pretty much all my survivors. I think the range could use maybe a slight reduction. 28 meters maybe? Or even 32? The fact that it activates before you even hear the TR is really strong right now.
-
PS4 player here. Cross play is fine. But I would jump to PC in a second if they implemented cross progress. The game runs horribly on PS4 and makes playing killer immensely frustrating depending on which character you are playing as and what map you get.
-
I understand that the devs are unlikely to put serious work into current gen console optimization with the next gen around the corner. However, some of us don't plan to get the next generation of console.
Cross saves would solve a lot of problems. I have a PC that is much better than my PS4, but I've been playing this since it was offered on PS Plus, and I don't want to lose 3 years of progress.
I'd rebuy this game in a heartbeat on Steam just so I can play at 60 FPS.
-
Happened to me the other day. Same spot.
-
It's no different than before. As a console killer, my biggest enemy is the frame rate. This has not changed.
It doesn't matter what your opponent's FPS is, if yours is 5.
