I think that as long as the option to turn off crossplay is there then there isn't a reason to get rid of it. If you don't want it turn it off. If you do want it then use it. The only issue I have playing in Xbox is that there isn't an effective way after the game to message the killer or any of your teammates if they are on a different consoles. So killers and survivors can do whatever they want and not have to worry about getting any salty messages or anything after their games

Your last sentence sounds like heaven...

  • PS4 player here.

    Loving cross play.

    No hackers encountered.

PC's running 60 FPS isn't the problem. Consoles running 5 FPS is. It doesn't matter what your opponent sees if YOU can't see.

  • Just had the worst combo possible on PS4: Trying to play Oni on Lery's. Stuttered the whole time and every demonstrike was literally a swing in the dark.

  • Really hope for PS4 and Xbox to let this happen. I would love to switch back and forth to PC at will!

  • I felt like it was ok. My killer matches got less hellish, and my survivor matches got a little more challenging, so improvements all around for me.

  • I was wondering if they had changed something about hook spawns. I've had a couple games in the last week or so where if I sacrifice 2 survivors in the same area of the map, it creates a dead zone where you can't hook anybody. I feel bad about the slugging that results, but what am I supposed to do?

Maybe hooks that were used to finish a sacrifice should come back after 2 min, like the old sabo.

I wonder how well survivors would actually do if the frames got fixed.

I know there are some really good players out there, but I'm pretty sure some players wouldn't be so "godlike" were the frames fixed and auto aim removed.

    Christ, I hate auto aim

This makes me so mad. Every time I whiff because a survivor did a wiggle in front of me, I feel like uninstalling.

  • Survivors a start of match: "Heh heh, we'll use these offerings and perks so we can self unhook easily, and punish the killer if he downs us again quickly. This is gonna be easy!"

Killer realizes what they're doing and counters it.

Survivors at end of match and on the forums afterwards: "IT WAS ONLY A MEME BUILD! WHY DO YOU HATE FUN AND LOVE AND EVERYTHING GOOD IN THE WORLD? GUESS I'LL SWITCH OUT SLIPPERY MEAT AND GO BACK TO META."

PSA: If the only difference between the meme build and the meta build is 1 perk and offerings, it's not much of a meme. It was a strat. A strat based on improving chances of self-unhooking and punishing a killer who hits after the unhook. Just because it isn't the most popular strat doesn't make it a strat. Meme builds are builds that won't really help you win the match, but can make 1 you good in one very specific set of circumstances. Mad Grit + Agitation + Iron Grasp + Lightborn for example, will probably not win many matches, but it's funny.

  • Just played a match on Midwich as survivor. (PS4) Holy balls was the frame rate bad. Even just walking around it was juddering and stilted. Pan the camera? HOO-BOY, the game didn't like that. Skill checks were stuttering all over the place.

Please tell us you guys are working on this!

Here's the thing though. Mine IS original.

I'm not attacking the perk, I'm attacking the garbage "advice" given in response to those posts. It's people like you who are trying to change the conversation from what it was.

Yeah, no. It's not original to whine: "BoNEs Don'T AlwAYs WoRK!😢"

Couldn't find a totem? Boo hoo. Totems are random. Sometimes well hidden, sometimes right next to a gen. Just accept you probably won't get them all.

NOED is the most mediocre perk that people cry about. If the killer is doing well, it does nothing. If they are doing poorly, it MIGHT give them 1kill.

Just do bones when you see them, and ALWAYS assume the killer has NOED unless you see someone get hit and not get insta-downed.

The only time NOED completely changes things is when people get cocky at the end and start trying to make stupid saves and "epic" plays.

If somebody gets hooked with NOED and the other 3 are at the gate, just go. 3 escaping is better than all dead.

Where is the 5th set then?

I already did the other four.

Also nice original comment. I haven't already had 50 of those.

Nice original post. Haven't seen 100 of these threads every day!

  • You didn't do enough bones.

  • Legion is especially difficult to play with the game in this state. Miss your hit during Frenzy because of frame rate? Enjoy your lost chase, and long cool down!

  • Hag main on PS4. I would like to be able to see when I teleport again.

  • Bump. Show us you care about your console player base, devs.

  • I mean, survivors have always disappeared after a swing, but now it's ridiculous. The frames drop to single digits as soon as you get close and they start moving back and forth.

You just push R2 and pray that they didn't move while you literally were blinded by lack of frames.

Don't even get me started on having bloodlust pop up right before you're about to take a swing. Half second hiccup in the visuals.

  • The devs aren't going to fix it. The next Playstation and Xbox are right around the corner. They'll just wait for players to upgrade to PC or a new console.

In the meantime, cross platform progression could fix the problems for players who have both PC and PS4 and Xbox. BUT, it doesn't seem like the devs are moving very fast on that, if at all. I wouldn't hold your breath. (PS4 player here) For now, we just suffer until we're willing to spend money to play on a platform that BHVR gives a crap about.

  • This is why we need cross-progression.

With the next gen consoles coming out in a few months, the Devs will be even less likely to fix things for PS4 and Xbox One. Jumping to PC is our only hope. (Or, assuming the Devs are gonna make DBD available on PS5 and new Xbox, you could buy one of those, but personally I'm done with consoles)

  • I'm getting 360'd constantly as killer after the update on PS4. FPS drops never used to be THIS bad. It's like they're disappearing from the screen just as I go to swing.

I've given up hope of them ever optimizing the game on PS4 and am praying for cross progression so I can move to PC.

  • Play on Ormond and try to see the hooks,

  • You posted the exact same thing yesterday and a mod closed it down. Get ready for a forum ban.

  • It's one of those perks that is great if you have nothing else specific. Pretty much every match will involve breaking at least a few pallets, so it will never be completely wasted, but might not help too much for Huntress. Pallets aren't a big problem for her unless it completely blocks a route. Use the perk only if you literally don't have anything useful (just starting out, or just prestiged), but since you say Huntress is your main, you probably have better options.

  • Hag is fine. There are so many counters to her power already. If the basement dwelling Hag scares you so much, then just make a note of where the basement is and avoid that area... Plus, basement is supposed to be very hard to escape from.

As for proxy camping hooks. Just crouch... Then she has to walk all the way back, possibly giving up a chase.

I play quite a bit of Hag, and there's nothing worse than being in a chase and seeing a rescue go off without setting off my traps. There's nothing I can do to stop it.

  • Fixing MM should have been THE top priority for a long time, but hey, who cares when skins and characters keep coming at a steady pace, amirite?

  • So everything Killers do to win: bad. Everything survivors do to win, good.

    Got it.

  • 30. Just want to get Spirit's head, so almost there! (Free track only)

this would be interesting but seems like a huge time waste for clown. while he is placing one the survs could just be rushing a gen on the other side of the map

Well, it would be more of a late game type of benefit. Also, placing one would only take 1 second, as otherwise, I agree, not worth it. Clown just needs something to help deal with the fact he has little map pressure. He's pretty good in chases imo.

  • Radical rework idea:

Clown can place jack-in-the-boxes on generators. As survivors work on the gen, the handle turns and after a certain amount of progress has been made on gen, the jack-in-the-box pops open, giving the clown a notification and releasing a cloud of gas same as if a bottle had exploded above the gen.

Survs can disable jack-in-the-box by interacting with it for 10 seconds.

  • Honestly, I think it should get a slight need. Reduce the distance it activates from 36 to 32.

Still powerful, still useful, just not so powerful as to give you warnings before the average 32m terror radius kicks in.

  • Get rid of the basement? Sure, then get rid of the shack, too. No more free God pallet and strong loop.

  • I feel like Plague's Iridescent Seal doesn't need the movement speed reduction. Getting a free corrupt up to five times a match is nice, but not so good that the downside is warranted imo. Especially when survivors determine when it activates.

  • The only people who are gonna suffer from crossplay are console survivors who are used to 360s constantly working because console killers get massive frame rate drops when they do it.

PC killers might have a slightly tougher time with console survivors because 360s are easier to do with a controller, but I don't think that'll be much of a problem.

There shouldn't be any downside for PC survivors.

Console killers already deal with the worst experience and this probably won't change anything for them.

  • Nope, this would be too powerful. I also would be against increasing healthy survivors' speed to have injured ones get a decrease. It would make killers who have a hard time getting that first hit (trapper, leather face) even worse.

I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of change to make being injured something that actually inconveniences survivors and helps the killer, but it has to be small. Maybe increase the frequency of bleeding and how long it lasts on the ground. Maybe make blood a little more visible or make grunts of pain a little louder. I know there are perks that do all of these things, but I'm talking about raising the base levels of these just a little bit.

Just a thought, but reducing movement speed is definitely out.

  • Unfortunately, because he's slow, you have 2 choices once you hook somebody:

    1. Go to a gen and hope that a survivor is there. Whether you find someone or not, you have 100% given up on the survivor on the hook. If there wasn't anybody at the gen you chose, too bad, the person you hooked is gone and healed and you will have to hit them twice again.
    2. Stay nearby to try and get the rescuer or the hooked survivor. With the speargun, it's pretty easy to reel in the survivor as they stop for the rescue. It's a pretty good way to snowball. Actually because he's so slow, it's the only way to reliably snowball. Same with huntress. If you just leave the hook, you are 100% letting the person get rescued and healed. You can't check a gen and double back to get somebody while they're still injured. Unless you have some kind of perk like Devour, there's no reason to stray too far from the hook.

So those're your choices, either let every survivor get rescued and healed (thus ensuring longer chases to down them again) or stay near the hook to spear rescuers.

  • Wait till you hit rank 12. Nothing but red from there on...

  • I've seen some pointless threads in my day, but this...

Im not against it, i would like to be introduced, but they need to make some kind of launcher or something where we have to login into the game for cross saves to be possible. I don't know, maybe in the far future

Yes, they would need a launcher on PC, but I still don't think that would be that hard to implement.

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

It would make queue times for killer on PC better and queue times for survivor PS4 a lot better as well.

I'm sure waiting 15 minutes make you say "I honestly don't care, I just want to get into a game."

Might as well already implement it.

This times 10. A larger, shared player base is of benefit to all.

  • @BeHasU said:

There's a problem, there's things on pc and things on ps4 that are differently. So it's kinda impossible to keep your progress.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1151432#Comment_1151432

how do you want to save the game. You are playing on a different platform than us.

What's different? Please be specific. Console got Bill a while back, so now they have all the same characters. Also, I don't see how that would affect anything. Behaviour has all data for all players on a server somewhere. It's as easy as flipping a switch to login with an account and have all the stats and progress from that account be transferred over.

There are other games that do just that. I play War Thunder on PC and PS4. Same account, and all my progress from one transfers over to the other. Even if you are against cross PLAY due to difference in controls or system performance, there is absolutely no reason to be against cross SAVES which just allows people to carry all progress from one platform to the other as long as they have the game on that platform.

  • Cross play: Meh, sure ok. I see no reason not to have it.

Cross SAVE: YES. PLEASE. RIGHT NOW. I would rebuy this game on PC in a SECOND if I could keep my progress.

  • Had this happen yesterday, playing as the Plague on Autohaven. 2 survivors left, 3 gens left. Patrolling last gens, all regressing, all infected so I'd know if they were touched. I realize after a few sweeps that the survivors have given up on working on the gens entirely. Begin to circle the map looking in corners, in lockers, in buildings, in the basement. Nothing.

This went on for 15 mins until I heard a Feng running behind me. Chased her, sacrificed her, then I closed the hatch because I had spotted it during my endless search. Immediately, last survivor jumps out of a locker right next to me. They had been hoping for hatch escape when their friend died. I downed them and puked on them til they died of EGC.

You waste my time, I waste yours.

To the people saying killers not being able to find these kind of survivors are "bad at their job", that is categorically false. Survivors are almost silent when not running. The in game music hampers being able to hear soft sounds like grass rustling and breathing. If that Feng hadn't started running behind me, I wouldn't have heard her. Because of how early survivors get warning of a killer's approach due to 32m TR, it is easy to get in a locker, wait for them to pass, and move to a new locker to prevent the appearance of crows. Even on a map that is relatively smaller, survivors can make minimal moves to drag this out as long as they want. Unless you're playing a stealth killer or brought tracking perks, there's nothing you can do, no matter how good you are.

  • Playing Killer on PS4 at rank 13: "Wheee! This is fun and we're all relatively the same skill level, I win some, I lose some, couple kills each match!"

    *Become rank 12*

Nothing but red and purple survivors, mostly SWF (you can tell because they know what perks they each have and play accordingly). Struggle to get even 1 kill before the exit gates are powered. Much teabagging.

  • Dead, sure, but maybe they only add 1% instead of the usual percentage. Otherwise, it'd perhaps be too much since it's permanent at that point.

    DC'd survivors though, no.

  • @CosmicParagon said:

Goodbye forever then. Not trying to be a jerk, but matchmaking has ALWAYS been aids, and likely will never be fixed. At this point I think the system should just get scrapped and toss all the players in a blender to remove the illusion of fair matchmaking.

This is different. I've played this game for about 2 years. You used to wait for matches and your opponents usually had a similar rank if not skill. Now matchmaking is instantaneous. So, like I said, matchmaking isn't even trying.

  • Whether or not there are boosted survivors in red ranks isn't the problem.

The problem is that killer queue times are near instant, yet almost all my matches in the last month have been against survivors with a significantly better rank. The game isn't even TRYING to match me against similarly ranked players. There is literally no wait time to get into a match. BHVR has just given up.

  • Killer is WAY more stressful. And I say this as someone who prefers playing as Killer. It is so much harder and requires constant effort to win. I play survivor solo, and although it can be frustrating to get stuck with potato teammates, I have never felt stressed.

I honestly only play one or two killer matches a day because it stresses me out so much. My hands are usually shaking at the end of a match.😬

  • This times a thousand. I wanna move from PS4 to PC, but don't want to repurchase everything and have to level up all my killers again!

  • As a killer, I fear the effect of Breakout. Bodyblocking SWF groups are going to love that...

  • Remember killers, unless you hit each of the 4 survivors once before hitting any of them a second time, you are a tunneler.
