from one killer main to another - dont get goaded into a chase with the “runner” class survivor. I do it for fun when I’m trying to complete challenges, but the actual purpose of these survivor builds is to never touch a generator and to just take you on a pallet sightseeing tour.
since you know they don’t have gen perks just go find the “mechanic” or “”technician” or “support” player and kill them. They should be easier to catch. - look for the toolkit or pay attention to who you always see at the generators that pop.
Believe me, I have tried. But I sometimes get matches where all survivors will play like this. I can't even say they're bad because how would I know? I didn't see them do anything good or bad. I just lost with no skill expressions at play.

Killers have had literally zero problem sniffing survivors while counting to 10 (or 12) to wait out BT off hook for years.
I don't for a second buy that it's the 'waiting'.
It's the fact that survivors can react and potentially outplay the killer that makes people angry.
First, who did that? I saw this maybe once or twice when the killer desperately tried to tunnel one person out.
Second, it's not about waiting once or maybe even twice. It's about waiting after every survivor in every chase. BT could simply be avoided by not going for the guy that's fresh off the hook. How do you avoid DH? You don't. You just try to wait until it's out of the way or get screwed
-
Maybe the higher tier killers? I'm not sure.
But B tier and below is very much screwed without this. On some killers my MMR is much lower than it should be. To the point where I dominate in chase but lose because I can't finish the game in 4 minutes. I know that slowdown perks would help me there but the reason I play killer is for the chases. Running around to kick gens is not really what I consider fun.
I've also noticed something else. Some survivors will just run and predrop every pallet they find. By the time you catch up to them the game is already lost. The game simply outpaces you. You are physically unable to end chases so quick that you can compete.

Idk. I’m red rank as a killer, but I’ve never had an issue with downing with nemesis, hag, billy, wraith, clown, spirit, legion, shape, doctor, pig, nightmare, ghostface, oni, executioner, carmina, dredge, or wesker. 🤷🏻♂️
only killer that gives me grief for not using the power is nurse. But then again gen slowdown on a nurse is unnecessary.
guess all the m2 killers are the ones i haven’t bought yet.
Congrats on being red rank. I'm suprised you make a post about a game that you didn't play in 1 1/2 years. If you don't know what I mean, there is no such thing as ranks anymore. It's grades now and they have no impact on your matches whatsoever. They're not an indicator of skill but play time per month.
Also funny how you make a list that consists of more than 50% M1 killers for this argument. M1 killers are designed to hit with a normal attack. Everything else they have serves as a helping hand so that they can get the hit a bit easier.
Playing M1 Billy is not only incredibly weak but also boring. You are a killer with mobility that is very reliant on maps and.... nothing else. Wow, great. If you are in the very fortunate position where you can always decide how you want to down a survivor, then that tells me a lot about the people you play against. Mainly that they are not very good.
-
Eruption was unhealthy? Fair enough. It was unhealthy because everyone hated playing against it. Strengthwise it was definitely strong but not super overpowered. Does that remind you of something? Can't put my finger on it but I have a feeling there is another perk with similar issues on the survivors' side.
Also, if you want to make an argument about game health you should be the first to call out how bad this rework to Eruption is. 10s of aura reading that can only be useful when slugging doesn't sound too healthy to me. Then again, we all know how much survivors love to be left on the ground.

Me and my buddies brought a P100 billy to Garden of pain. I could tell he was a phenomenal curve billy but he could not get past the bushes. We ended up 4 man outing against him and I felt kinda bad. 😂
I still can't get over the fact that a few twigs or tiny bushes can stop 200 lbs 6 ft man with a chainsaw. My man should be able to walk through like it's nothing but apparently the bushes in DBD are maid of steel or something. I'm also still in awe how you can bump into things that are outside your FOV even with Shadowborn. Garden of Pain is one of the worst offenders in that regard.
-
My most used build is BBQ, Lethal Pursuer, Shadowborn and whatever I want to bring. However, I've seen first hand how much you limit yourself with a build like this. I lose a great many games because I simply can't finish my objective as fast these survivors do. How am I expected to kill 4 survivors in a 4 minute long match? This is not a rare scenario for me. It happen quite frequently.
They better do something about this and nerf the Pig already.

Or worse... Garden of Pain.
These bushes. These horrible bushes.

Let's buff killers again by absolutely nuking gen regress and add another 10s to each gen, while also releasing more gen perks for survivors. Surely, that will mean that now killers won't need slowdown anymore, right?
They really outdid themselves with this. Now running no slowdown means that a majority of your matches will be over in 4 minutes. This is worse than before 6.1.0.
I wouldn't be too surprised, if we found ourselves back to 5+ minutes survivor queues in just a few months.
-
Great. Now I'm stuck with an image of Bubba being burried underneath a car frantically crying for help.
-
Right! They even fixed them in the last patch. If that isn't a sign to start maining Twins, I don't know what is!

It’s not debatable at all lmao. Old dead hard gave guaranteed value. Not gonna make it to that window or pallet? DH for distance and boom, you’re safe.
Dh is really not that hard to counter now. I’ve seen some of the videos people post in the forums about “DH IS SOOOO BROKEN!!!” and it’s them falling for the same old “I’m gonna run directly into the killer and DH” trick over and over.
Counter in the open - simply wait it out.
Counter at windows - let them dab into the window, or wait for the vaulting animation to start, hit.
Counter at pallets - anticipate them to DH through the pallet if you know they have it. Stop swinging thinking you HAVE to. The amount of downs I get on letting them DH through a pallet then downing them before they can drop is absurd. It does not work if you know the timing.
Something that’s virtually uncounterable is somebody who can properly 99 a sprint burst.
Either you face some rather slow survivors or you are an absolute god in timing these things. DH at pallet does not have real counterplay. Waiting for the animation and then swing will result in you either hitting them with endurance or them dropping the pallet on your head. That little window of time (maybe 0.1s, probably less) is heavily dependent on latency and different character models as well as distance. Have fun timing that when we couldn't ask (rightfully so) to time stop doing a gen to not get hit by Eruption.

Why would a perk need a downside to begin with? What do you want every perk to be like dying light that actually buff a survivor more than it debuffs the other three?
The slowdown this perk offer now is wrost than most of the other perks. You get whole alot more value running jolt now over new eruption since you don't have to take the time to kick a gen and it will do more damage. Why run eruption over infectious fight if you want to snowball when infectious allows you to locate a survivor near by instead of being on the other side of the map.
Gutting a perk instead of actually balancing it isn't good game design. It's lazy game design and does nothing to offer build variety. All it does is virtually deleting the perk and killers just move to the next best perk. Enjoy seeing PR+DMS in every match. I'm sure ppl will complain about how that is boring and those perks will be gutted just like pop, ruin, overcharge, and thana.
Exactly. They decided to give this perk a completely pointless effect. It's not just other perks being better but other perks giving you what you need WHEN you need it.
Honestly, I'm almost willing to run Eruption every game and start heavily slugging beyond reason. I'm sure survivors and devs alike will be happy about that.
-
It's a miracle this perk hasn't been gutted yet. After that maybe CoB will be next? Or Overcharge.
-
Eruption was a terrible perk that really needed some changes. The changes they did though are just dumb. What is a killer supposed to do with these 10s aura vision? Potentially make my way across the whole map and not hooking that survivor I just downed? Or is this more of a "Well, there could be someone around you" kind of perk? In that case why wouldn't I run Infectious Fright instead?
10s guys. At a time you absolutely don't need it. Not in the slightest.
-
Good luck with the break. See you!
-
Perk: Cruel Agony
Item: Old Rope
Killer: The Arbiter
-
Uhm... I can't be the only one, who realizes how insanely ######### this perk is gonna be? Game health? This PROMOTES slugging. I thought slugging was such a bad thing that we wanted to make less prominent? Seems I was wrong, then. Can't wait for base kit UB as well to make that perk entirely pointless.
Even then this perk is awful. It is a weaker version of Infectious Fright. I do not need 10s of aura vision on a survivor that works on a gen across the map. I do not need 10s of aura vision on a survivor that will be over after I hooked the one I just downed. Keep in mind this only works on gens you kicked. The regress is pretty meh and easily overshadowed by Jolt because you don't need to kick the gen in the first place.
I didn't use Eruption before but this is ridiculous. The 10s aura reading are great in theory but that's about it. Have fun kicking gens to get a meaningless regress and an aura on a survivor that you can only use effectively, if you commit to slugging.
There is a difference between nerfing a perk and making it pointless. This fits the latter pretty well imo.

Basically? Because BHVR wills it so.
They seem to be stuck in the early 2010's with the mindset of there being something worth retaining about the nastier sides of gaming/the internet. It's very odd, as - on the other hand - they spend a lot of energy trying to maintain an image as a hard-progressive company.
Nobody wants DbD to be Club Penguin. But I also personally don't want it to be CS:GO.

Eh...
I've been playing online since Quake 2.
About the only games more/as consistently toxic as DbD is would be pre-Tribunal League of Legends, CS:GO, some of the early MMOs, Smite, EVE Online, early XBL, the original DOTA map and a few others.
This is not company you want to be in.
Yes, there's always a bigger horse - but that's neither here nor there. It's mildly annoying how people always insist on turning this into a toxicity Olympics.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3340735#Comment_3340735
The old XBL is probably one of the most uniquely horrible communities of all time, but...yeah, see above.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3340951#Comment_3340951
I'll take 'Things That Aren't Toxicity' for 400, Alex.
These are cheese. Much like a 6pool or spawn camper.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3340912#Comment_3340912
Starcraft 2.
But again, there's always a bigger horse.
I don't remember when Riot changed it but they definitely got a lot more strict about it. It definitely was the right choice for them as it cleared their community considerably from one of the most hateful communities to one that I would describe as "All in all pretty nice." (Not sure how it is today though, as I stopped playing LoL several years ago.)
DBD has a problem with players getting rather emotional. Wether it is tunneling, camping, gen rushing, flashlight saves, pallet stuns or anything else that is in the interest of progressing the game often comes across as spiteful or personal when it was only an act to try and win the game. Put that together with certain movements that some survivors perform in the exit gates and the killer hitting them on hook and you see why people often get salty.
The first problem is that BHVR don't actively show us how they handle these things. If they were more open and more strict about it, players would think twice before telling a random person on the internet they wish them and their families the most unspeakable things. The second problem is that there really is no reason to play nice. You don't tunnel and use nice perks and as a "thank you" the survivors will perform their finest dances and explain how bad you as a player and a person are, vice versa.
Both these problems have potential solutions that are already implemented in other games but until we see some drastic measures DBD's toxicity will remain as it is.
-
But some survivors need to dc because Nurse and Blight and Trapper and maps and tunneling and perks and unfair and and and and and.... You're just a filthy killer main, who does not deserve to kill the Yui anyway.
That's probably what goes on in the minds of these people.
A few months ago I had a Nea tbag me all game (while playing in the same way you did). Eventually she would follow me around and insist I chase her. So I did exactly that. Didn't take me 10 seconds to down her with Billy's chainsaw. She dced before her head hit the ground.
These people WANT to dc. They will find a reason to say "Well, I'm not playing against this #######" and dc no matter how you play.
-
I never understood why some people seemed to like Dredge so much. I played him maybe 3 times and I got utterly bored every single time.
-
Maybe merge it with Nemesis? That or add a side effect with Blindness. It still wouldn't be great but at least better than it is now.
But for the love of god please don't remove the current effect. There are killers that can benefit from this information.
-
Someone give this person a Nobel Prize! This is genius!

It's because not letting survivors hide by crouching on the killers feet would be considered too much of a buff.
Ahh, yeah. The famed FOV tech. How could I forget that this little thing is absolutely crucial to the survivor experience? Better not give killers QoL improvements, then. This would certainly kill the game. 🤣
-
Nah, you're fine, mate. Just run Shadowborn and play the game with 3 perks. I don't see any issue with that.
Seriously though. Why do we not have that option? Survivors get a nice little HUD (which for the record is a good thing) for QoL but killers can't have a FOV slider?
-
What people seem to forget is that not all SoloQ players are Dwights in a locker or a damned Claudette self-caring in a corner. We actually do have many decent and even very good solo players. These are the people that can and will use this information.
But SoloQ is not on the same level as SWF yet. For that we'd need:
Aura-vision on the killer for all survivors as long as one of them has a line of sight.
Base kit Bond with no distance restriction.
Base kit WoO.
All maps that aren't completely survivor sided removed. (In case they don't bring an offering)
"All-Seeing"-Spirit addon (Wraith) base kit for all survivors.
Aura-vision on Trapper's traps.
Notification on which killer it is.
-
Demogorgon and Hillbilly are fine in theory but too weak in practice.
Nurse isn't that hard. It takes a few hours but once you get the basic muscle memory down you're good to go.
Eruption would be fine, if it wasn't so disgusting to go against.
Wesker is one of the most balanced killers we have. Some of his addons are a bit overtuned but he's fine otherwise.
Perks, items and addons matter more than skill.
-
It's a problem in every online multiplayer game. DBD just manages it poorly. I know of a few games that will penalize toxicity with chat restrictions and even bans. DBD on the other hand? Ehh, it's not like it's allowed but no one really cares.
-
Haven't you heard? DH is fine. It is so enjoyable waiting for every survivor to use it in every chase. Just wait it out. Every. Single. Time.
Also because it's hard to use it doesn't matter how strong it is. Just like Nurse, right? Ohhh.
-
There will never be a Billy 2.0. I'm pretty sure the devs know exactly how much they screwed up on that front.
Would I still play Blight with weaker addons? Certainly. He is perfectly playable without addons. Significantly weaker and way more limited but still playable. I wouldn't mind, if they fixed hugtech as well. Though, at least have the decency to fix his other bugs too. Increased recharge time however? That would definitely make him less fun. It's bad enough with Billy's overheat and you can ignore that for the most part. A significantly longer recharge time for Blight's power would mean you're forced to play M1 killer with map mobility a bit more and we already have enough of these (Demo, Sadako, Freddy, etc.). I'd probably still play him from time to time but then again I play every killer other than Oni.

I didn't check but other guy said it's normal. I can't believe it really they must hate killers these devs. I play both sides.
It's not all boons that are problematic. It's just CoH. All the others have some kind of counterplay other than snuffing the boon and since the killer can't always take the time to do so, that is exactly how it should be.
-
Maybe this is exactly what need, though. Regression perks to be so freaking weak that no one will run them anyway. This might show the devs how out of control both regression and gen speed are at the moment.
There should never be a time when survivors can easily win a game in 4 minutes with barely any interaction with the killer or the killer is able to drag out the game for an hour. Both of these extremes just force people to run meta. Because otherwise how do you compete against that?
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Eruption and Dead Hard both need to get deleted.
Maybe not deleted. Completely reworked however...
-
If anyone of your teammates has all boons and sets one up, then all survivors survivors in that area get the effects. Did your teammates have any boons?
-
So... Git gud?
-
You forgot to mention that DH still has basically no counterplay when used to get to a pallet. No, I do not consider the possibility to time a swing so that it might hit the survivor in a window of maybe 0.1 seconds actual counterplay. The game doesn't work like that. Latency, different character models and lags all screw you over for trying that.
There is also the point that DH rewards reckless plays. Going for the unhook right in the killer's face? With DH you and your teammate can get out of there. Not healing and instead greeding gens. DH might save you. Predictable one shots? Well, what do you know, DH works perfectly against those. Just stay injured.
I am all for gutting the current gen kicking meta. It is boring and unhealthy. But nerfing these perks will have strong effects on the game's balance. A killer can't go for more than 4 3-hit-chases without slowdown. The game is long over before they have chance to do something and that is disregarding the fact that survivors still have tools to progress the game even faster.
-
There could be different reasons.
1) If you bm a killer (just in theory) they might take offense and camp you out.
2) Looping the killer for 2 gens means you were very efficient and they only got 1 out of 12 hooks while your team did 2/5 five gens. That looks bad from the killer's perspective. After all 1/12 << 2/5. So they'll do whatever they can to build pressure. Camping is one way of doing that because it forces multiple people away from gens, if they don't finish them before you die.
3) The killer sees you as the biggest threat to them. They might have a chance against the others but you don't fit into their equation. The best option might be to get you out of the game first and then deal with the weaker ones later.
The reason why a large number of killers overcommit is simple efficiency. Picture this. You, as a killer, start into a match knowing that you won't have much time to somehow get a grasp on the match. That means your first down needs to happen asap. Now you go on a chase with a guy that turns out to be very skilled at looping but you only realize that after 30-40 seconds. You now have 2 options.
Option 1) Accept you wasted a lot of time and achieved absolutely nothing and let that survivor go to hopefully begin another chase in the next 15 seconds. That is more than one whole minute of uninterrupted gen progress considering you had to find that guy first. If the guy was already injured it is much worse because injured states are nothing as long as you don't play Plague or Legion. Survivors heal way faster than you can realistically hit them after all. If they used DH you can bet they'll have it again the next time you see them as well.
Option 2) You hope you may get this guy into an unfavourable position or get some pallets out of the way early. Maybe you can even push them into the other survivors to stop them from doing gens for a few seconds. Either way, you hope to get something out of this chase that is more of a payoff than leaving and chasing the next person (that could be just as good or find themself in a very strong area).
-
I just hope for a killer that is strong with a high skill ceiling and creative. Something that we haven't seen before. Maybe a killer that really utilizes the whole obsession gimmick. That would be fun. But please don't let it be another "You better Shift + W" type of killer.
I don't really care if it's going to be licensed or not since the few licenses I would like to see are probably never going to come anyway.
-
I remember a match on Midwitch about a week ago where all survivors would always run back to the same room to go down because they knew I had no chance to make it to a hook. In EGC they complained about me slugging them.
Like, what was I supposed to do?!

-"I think freddy is up there with top 3 worst killer in the game"
First off I do not agree MM is one of the worst killers in the game. If we picked some really good players ( and took away their voice coms during the game) I feel like I could do way better with MM than most people's favorite killer streamer could do with Doctor.
In this day and age I only play MM using extra stalk+ either purple tombstone or infinite T3. With those addons he is easily an A tier killer if you understand how to use that kit. If you don't want to take my word for it ( I mained MM for 2 years) go watch coconut's video.
I don't agree Trapper is in the bottom three either. Why? He is "ok" with bloody coil. You play corrupt+ some gen regerssion and bloody coil. You can pick where you three gen and then you control that the entire game. Your power physically turns loops off and that is very hard to get around. If bloody coil became base Kit trapper would jump up to B tier instantly.
-"Doc has really good 1vs1. he requires a lot of precision and map knowledge to use his shock therapy"
I'm going to assign you some homework. Watch Truetalent and Otz play against doctor. Watch them play as doctor. You will discover that Doctor's main kit power is detection. The anti loop was literally an afterthought as he didn't have it when he came out. Doc's power can be completely ruined by latency (just like all grabs in DBD). Both these very experienced players when against good survivors need about 6 shocks to get a hit. That is a garbage tier power for anti loop.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3337971#Comment_3337971
"Freddy can only teleport when there are gens left. He gets weaker and weaker with every gen completed. In the end, he has nothing."
While you're not wrong about this it means Freddy can 3 gen better than 90% of the killers.
"There is nothing in his addon-pass which helps his abilities besides Masterpiece and Sketch"
Once again you are not wrong. Freddy had some brutal addons. The devs went medieval on his kit AND his addons - freddy was brutalized.
Reducing his total snares was fair. Reducing their snare power was not necessary.
Nobody even bothers to learn the "dangerous" freddy addons because that's not a thing anymore. Swing chains/paintbrush live on only in memory.
Freddy with old tinkerer was a monster with multiple gen regression perks.
Freddy is now severely limited by someone running We'll make it OR CoH. He had very good at hit and run gen defense and that's mostly dead.
The problem with killer reworks is that Freddy was only punished and killers like Legion/Pig/GF got a number of positive changes. Pig lost her abusive gear combo - yay. Pig now no longer can have everyone remove traps on the first try. That's an amazing QoL change.
The reality is that we have come to a point in the road with balance where we are either talking about Blight/Nurse and SWF or we are talking about everything else. Nobody really gives any F's in chat for the last category. But the big other three elephants in the room are what are ruining the game.
Who then is worse than Freddy? Doctor and Ring are the most obvious killers. If you don't play the condemn/no hook game then Ring is a worse version of freddy. Like legion she gets the first hit easy and then is in an even worse position. Since we are on the topic - Legion with Iri button and Julie's mixtape is crazy strong. A lot of people say : legion sucks. Again I'll say I could beat Otz or True on "the Game" if they play best doctor build and I play best legion build. Clown with no pinky is worse than freddy but Clown has the option for "Maximum effort".
Largely speaking Wraith is probably worse than freddy on most of the maps. Sometimes I play wraith but if I do you can bet I have purple move speed and purple aura vision. Freddy probably just needs to have some decent addon choices and he would be "ok".
No offense, but challenge accepted. MM is nowhere near Doctor. Not even in the same dimension. Doctor has a chance to really play around strong loops and guarantee hits where Michael can do what exactly? Ahh, yes. Stalking. Stalking until he reaches tier 3, which will not help him in loops. In the right hands Doctor can get very oppressive to the part where latency makes little to no difference. He also has some great addons to help him.
I'd argue that Otz might not be the best example to make Doctor truly shine. He is a very good player in general and no doubt quite good with Doctor as well but he makes mistakes that someone who mains this killer simply doesn't. He could control the survivors movements so much better by simply pushing them away from certain structures with the shock and there is also room for improvement when it comes to him managing tier 3. It's a bit like watching an insane Clown main and comparing them with Otz. Both are good but one is just better.
Wraith isn't this bad either. He struggles with maps, yes but predropping is completely useless against him and his extra speed while cloaked is a big deal. His anti-loop can sometimes (admittedly on very rare occasion) guarentee hits as well.
I'd put Freddy down there with Trapper right now. Even Myers can at least some times get dangerous because of tier 3. But Freddy? Well, he has a teleport, I'll give him that. But that one takes forever to charge and channel. He has a side gimmick that is more of a detriment to him than an addition. Survivors that are awake are immune to his already weak anti-loop. It's half of what Clown has and even he sometimes struggles in chase. Freddy's addons are horrible as well. The paint brush isn't bad and the masterpiece is ok as well but the rest is just worthless. With the nerf to his dream pallets even the one niche where they could be utilized is gone.
-
Hmm. Probably the time I had an Ace stalking me as a killer the whole game. He eventually build up Mettle of Man and slow vaulted in my chainsaw curve as Billy when I tried to down another survivor. I was shocked by this guy's balls. So shocked I ended up running away from him.
To this day, he still haunts my dreams. That smile. That horrible smile!
-
Yeah. This will probably be a rough time. Ormond is still better than Eyrie though and at least it didn't look like Garden of Pain was getting too many votes, so that's something I guess.
-
The matches do feel different playing killer. My matches have been very fast paced for a while but now I keep on losing to people that can barely stand 30s in chase simply because they progress their objective much faster than I could ever hope to. This has increased drastically when the HUD changes were implemented, so I guess this is at least partially why.
That being said though: It might hit harder in my case because I don't run slowdown and I don't tunnel / camp.

I think the current slowdown perks are very unhealthy. The fact that you can drag on a game for an hour is just stupid.
However, after experiencing how bad running no slowdown can get (games over in less than 5 minutes), I think gen speed also needs to be gutted. Ideally both regress and speed should both be toned down. Neither should be as extrem. Perks, addons and items should help but not guarantee wins against anyone who doesn't run the strongest stuff, because otherwise what's the point in there being more than 10 perks for both sides?
Map design has always been an issue and BHVR's design team are doing a great job when it comes to visuals but horribly bad when it comes to balancing. Eyrie, RPD, Garden of Pain and Borgo all look great but playing on these maps feels awful. Eyrie changed for the better but it still has the same issue it had before. A survivor could stand in the middle of the map and no matter where they go, they will waste a huge amount of the killer's time just by dropping a few pallets.

Ideally the killswitch is used for stuff they can fix in like 1-2 weeks, but knowing that it's usually months, yeah I guess I wouldn't want them to hit stuff like that with the killswitch either. But Sloppy is pretty killswitchable given how abusable it is on some killers.
Haddonfield spawns 2 gens right next to each other in the Myers house every single time, and a third gen not far from that that is also in a deadzone. It's the same as with RPD currently - if the killer wants to defend those gens until the server closes the session, they can.
The 2 gens at Myers house aren't a bug though, are they? I don't remember there ever being less than 2 gens. A third gen nearby however is weird. That definitely shouldn't happen. I haven't seen this yet but you're definitely right. With the right perks any killer could drag this out until the 1h mark (or however long it takes).
I know we joke about DBD's spaghetti code a lot but this is beginning to worry me. How can they create new content, when that might somehow create bugs with completely unrelated things? I imagine this is only going to get worse, if they can't find a way to prevent this.

They didn't even killswitch Twins. After 2 months! They don't need to killswitch every little bugged thing but come on! Twins are literally unplayable!
Adrenaline is also bugged to take priority over Terminus and I don't think this needs to be killswitched. Just as Sloppy and Lullaby. It's stupid and it should be fixed asap but the games are still playable. Technically the same can be said for RPD but since 3 gen strats are at an all time high in terms of effectiveness this might go too far to stay even until they get around to fixing it.

Lullaby is such a bad perk its effect being retained at whatever amount of tokens it was cleansed with would honestly be a welcome buff. But yeah, these things as well as RPD and Haddonfield not being killswitched until they can fix them is just bad dev work. They take ages to create these tools, and then don't use them? "Beta features" was 1 singular feature for like a year, killswitch is not being used even if there's blatant abuse of issues like this.
What happened to Haddonfield? I had a game there just the other day and it looked fine to me.

I'm sorry but if you don't bring any gen regression/slowdown perks, you do not tunnel anyone how do you expect to win? Yeah sure you can do vs incompetent people but that's no HUD issue or else, if your own issue because you're not using the correct perks.
Now i do understand why you don't want to use them, because they are boring as hell and that's the problem of the game, as long BHVR won't change perks/meta and rework several killers, rework maps and put a stop on hyper fast gen repair/third health state, there's nothing else you can do as a killer. So bring eruption ( for a coulpe of weeks until it will be nerfed into the oblivion) nowhere to hide ( next one to be nerfed i'm sure ), call of brine ( again until it will disappear ) and tunnel/camp heard as long the game begin.
BHVR want us to play like that so, let's play like that. And yeah you can easly do 3-4k
As I said though, this is no recent development for me. I managed to do ok before. Yeah, I lost matches because of my lack of gen regression and tunneling would had helped as well but I didn't do too bad. Hyper aggression worked for me.
A few months before 6.1.0 (back when DH was at its prime) I even did a win streak with Doctor using Zanshins, BBQ, STBFL and Brutal Strength and got to 37 wins without addons. Nothing crazy but I'm still happy about it. This was not an issue with MMR either since I played him for over a year at that point and didn't do too bad. The survivors I faced (mostly) were not incompetent. You had the occasional David that relied solely on DH and would go down in seconds but other than that these guys were great. In the end I lost my streak against Hens' squad with (I believe) 2 hooks because they simply outdid me in chase, while also working efficiently on gens.
Nowadays it feels like the game simply outpaces me, meaning that no matter how well I do in chases I'm still too slow to keep up. I mostly play Hillbilly, so I get into chases right off the bat and thanks to the information I get from Lethal Pursuer I can chase and zone the survivor I am onto into the survivors that work on gens. However, this isn't enough anymore. Somehow they still manage to finish gens as if I wasn't there. I think this has something to do with the increased effiency (HUD) because this is the only thing that changed recently. Items have been a problem for several months now.
My MMR has plummeted since the patch, no doubt about that. I now encounter survivors that make big mistakes in chase, fall for mind games on super safe structures and sometimes don't even adept to what killer I'm playing. The problem here is that I can't really learn from these guys and the matches don't feel challenging even when I lose. They can't do anything but delay me by dropping every pallet immediately, hoping their team mates will finish the gens faster than I can burn through their resources. I hate to say it but if I have to choose between the boring meta and this waste of time, the boring meta it is.

This Eruption meta has really given a lot of killer players an inflated sense of how good they actually are.
It really should be changed soon so that match making can be given time to heal.
Pretty predictable result - killer players finding a perk combo in Eruption and CoB that carries games super hard. Get lots of undeserved wins due to said perk combo. Go up against players much better than them and still have a hard time even with that combo because of massive skill difference, but still feel they should be able to compete in that match due to super OP perk combo.
I've been meeting a lot of really bad killers lately who have obviously been solely relying on this combo. They are going to have a rough time of it when the Eruption nerf comes..
Fair point but Eruption hasn't changed yet. So Eruption is not the variable that would somehow explain this. Also the same can be said for survivors that bring ridiculous items every match.
Take me for example. I don't run gen regression perks. I simply don't like them. Never did. However, the survivors I face as a killer bring toolboxes and medkits that completely outclass everything I run and are often enough not good in chase and have to resort to predropping and pallet camping to hold me off for a while. I still lose many of these games because I can't burn through their resources as fast as they finish the game.

It's hard to say for sure. It does feel like more gens do get done, so I'll certainly grant that part. I don't have nearly as many "4K with 3+ generators undone" games as I have before.
I also do have games that I do get curb stomped in but that's not any more unusual than normal. Sometimes it might just be a SWF. It could be the new HUD system that gives a group of solos the info they need to be really good. Sometimes I just suck D:
I just don't feel like I'm getting the curb stomping that everyone else seems to be getting but maybe I am and I'm just way more lax about it so I don't really notice...

I don't think I do anything all that fancy or special when I play (unless not playing Nurse and Blight count as special because I don't like them). I certainly could throw something up next time I decide to stream though if people are curious.
Interesting. I genuinely haven't thought about the possibility that some players were held back by this lack of information before. That could explain at least part of what we're seeing but should probably even out in a few weeks as their MMR should now put them somewhere closer to where they actually belong. Thanks for your insight!
I'm also not sure if I just made huge mistakes (possible) but I felt a bit powerless after in most of these games I lost 2-3 gens in 2 minutes even with Lethal Pursuer, which helps me to push off survivors from gens a bit. Would also be a bit weird, if for some reason I only started making these mistakes (that I'm mostly unaware of) just after the patch. It's a possibility none the less.
