BHVR have announced that they would add an anti camping mechanic to the game. They are currently working on it and I think they even said something about coming next summer (don't quote me on that, though).
From what we know the survivor on the hook will slowly build up a bar as long as the killer is near. When that bar is full they can unhook themself even in second stage. This does sound like a decent plan to me because it will also trigger the base kit BT and DS, / OTR effects.
It's unfortunate that some people go out of their way to make their opponents miserable but something like this happens in every online game. The best you can do in this situation is trying to accept that this happened and move on. I know this is not always easy but it's better than carrying it around with you. Blowing off some steam like you did here is also a good way to deal with it.
Anyways, I wish you good luck with your next matches!
-
It's not Eyrie of Crows. It's equally bad in terms of gameplay but at least the atmosphere is a bit better, I guess.
But I agree. There is a reason I started to call this map the Garden of Misery. Because it does make me miserable. Playing Billy on that map is one of the worst experiences this game has to offer.
-
Don't fix it, if it's not broken. I would be fine if the devs reverted the changes to flashlights in regards to her traps but otherwise I think she's fine. The meta will change again and Hag will remain somewhat strong. Changing too much about her kit is only going to cause more problems.

Definitely. I've seen survivors with no prestige do a much better job than P100s.

I hope it will return. But it is out BHVR's hands at this point. Only Netflix can tell, if they will ever bring the license back.
I don't even understand why they left DBD. I mean, it had no negative consequences for them. Was there anything in particular that would give us a hint why Stranger Things left?

By that measure, MfT haste ends when the chase ends too. So both expire when the killer lands a hit.
Either way, 9% haste from pwyf or the 15% hate from bloodlust, which stack with each other, should be considered OMGWTF godly.
MfT haste isn't an issue, it's just the 'new thing' killers cry about since dead hard and ds were deleted.
Let's say you play Wraith (because he is the best user of PWYF). You instantly find your obsession and start chasing them. Now you cloak again and have to wait 10 seconds for PWYF to be active again. Now you do it again and again. So you waste more than 20 in the absolute best case scenario just for that 9% speed boost.
Next you go into a chase with whatever survivor you want. We'll assume this takes no time at all. Now you chase that survivor until you gain bloodlust 3. That takes 35 seconds. This means you invest 55 seconds for a massive 24% speed boost. Sounds ridiculous? Yes, because it is. But in 55 seconds without a down or pressuring gens you lose the game. And you only get a hit! This is 165 / 450 charges on gens (more than a third of the survivors' objective!). The devs try to balance around 45 seconds chases. This would put you behind schedule even in the absolute best case scenario. Meaning, by playing in this way you waste a bunch of time and get worse results than normal.
This is the difference to MFT. It has no drawbacks. You get injured eventually. And if you don't, then you win anyway. You don't do anything to activate your 3% haste. It just happens for you because the killer made the grave mistake of trying to progress their objective. And because MFT doesn't exhaust you, it even has synergy with some exhaustion perks. So you prolong the chase with MFT and when the chase should finally end then you prolong it again with another exhaustion perk.
One thing is for sure. MFT has 2 very strong effects and a side effect that is very unhealthy for the game. So if you keep your 3% haste, then nerfing the other 2 parts would be fine, wouldn't it? You don't need the endurance effect on top of the haste effect. This is just stupid. And you don't need a perk that gaslights the killer into believing everyone is faster either. This is what subtle cheaters did and it drove a bunch of killer players crazy. Because you constantly second guessed everything you saw and eventually arrived at the conclusion that you had no way to know, if that survivor was cheating or not.
How would you even tell a new player that they need to look out because the survivor could be moving 3% faster than normal?
-
I think the definition for tunneling and camping is a bit clearer than it is for gen rushing. For gen rush the line can get a bit blurry. 4 survivors that are efficient on gens can end the match in under 4 minutes even without any toolboxes. I think it's fair to call that gen rush (mainly because we do not have any other fitting term) even though the survivors didn't stack gen speed. Others insist that gen rush can only happen when survivors stack enough gen perks and toolboxes + addons.
That being said it is definitely true that a lot of things are called tunneling, camping and gen rushing when that's actually not what happens. Just yesterday I was called out for tunneling because I had 1 person dead at 8 hooks. I'm sorry but if the killer gets too many hooks, someone is going to die. That isn't tunneling, that's how the game works. Other times I get called a camper when I go for someone that I see is coming for the unhook. That is not camping but chasing someone that happens to be near the hook.
What I have noticed is that anti tunnel perks have decreased in pick rate (at least in my matches). I can't say I blame any killer for tunneling, if it is made that easy for them. Although I do not like it. I think the game should be balanced without tunneling and camping but this will take time.
Sometimes people are just salty and will randomly accuse you of doing X "bad" thing to make themselves feel better. That can happen and it is somewhat understandable. What is less understandable is when players go out of their way to harass others for the way they supposedly played or straight out give up (except when it's a Chess Merchant, can't blame you for that) and ruin the match for everyone else. This is particularly bad in solo queue and probably one of the top reasons why solo queue has such a bad reputation.

Overdue? She literally just got a nerf in the Huntress Lullaby change two hotfixes ago.
Damn, you're right. I forgot about that. It wasn't a direct nerf to her power though. Maybe we should remove the undetectable status from her stealth. Crouching and moving slower than a survivor should be enough. I mean, she is smaller while crouching!
-
I agree. Winning is no small part of the game but playing like your life depends on it and getting to a 1000 win streak is not worth it, if you are not having fun.
Unfortunately, there are players that have fun playing in a way that is best described as toxic. That doesn't mean that we should sink to their level though.
-
They are going extremely fast indeed. I have pretty much stopped trying to defend gens at this. It's not worth the headache.
I focus on getting better with the killer I play instead. That also means I will overcommit to chases and try very ambitious plays even when I'm almost certain it won't work. Because sometimes it does! So far I'm on a loss streak of 8 but that is to be expected.

Yeah, Singularity actually has a lot of potential. If you can infect people quickly and you get used to infecting people mid-chase, he's a killing machine (pun intended). If you're not used to his fast paced micromanaging style of gameplay, it feels really rough when your power gets denied. However, once you get rolling, you can infect people faster than they can EMP your biopods. I really love playing him.
In regards to the Xenomorph, the turrets seem less threatening than EMPs overall, though. You can take them out without being burned with good LOS blocking without addons, and it becomes extremely trivial with certain addons. Plus getting Runner Mode back isn't hard at all (compared to having to walk across the map to reset a biopod anyway).
I personally kind of like the direction BHVR are taking in terms of Survivors having a specific item or action to hinder the killer's power, but making said powers stronger in return. It's going to allow BHVR to make killer powers that are much stronger in the moment, but can be balanced out by Survivors getting some reprieve by playing well/managing resources.
It has a lot of potential to create more dynamic gameplay if done right, which they mostly have done so far, I think.
Thank you for the advice. You are actually the first person I've seen on this forum that explains how they play this killer.
I think, it might just not be my kind of killer. That's ok, though. I prefer more direct killers like Hillbilly but it's nice to see that there are people that like to play as Singularity.
I mostly agree on what you wrote about Xenomorph but it might be hard to react in time when there is a turret in a jungle gym or something like that. You can play around them but it won't be easy. Which also isn't an issue as long as the runner mode proves to be a real addition to your overall strength. I only tested it for a bit on the PTB and survivors will learn how to counter this killer more effectively but it looked fine to me.
-
I mean... They gave her an addon rework and changed the rng component to be more reliable. So it's not like they would never buff her.
But I see your point. Thinking about it, we are a bit overdue for the next Pig nerf anyway.

Yeah, and instead of overly nerfing popular perks to the extent where they are barely, or aren’t even at all, used anymore by players, only to simultaneously buff a few other lesser tier perks to compensate; Just buff the weaker perks so we can pick and choose our builds from a completely useful variety of worthwhile perks.
Nerfing perks extensively to force players out of what they want n enjoy, and into another box (not so much of their choosing) that they are forced to accept, seems a bit tyrannical.
Devs mostly do well, and always mean well, attempting to better their creation.
There are just some things done to DBD that are unacceptable.
If you only buff weaker perks and don't nerf stronger perks, then you have a problem. The new perks won't be used anyway because people have already found their comfort builds. So you would have to buff them to a point where they are so strong, that they outclass other perks again. And this cycle would have to repeat over and over again.
This is how power creep happens. And it's not going to be healthy for your game. Not for long anyway.
I understand fully that you want to keep the perks you always run. You are comfortable with this build and it works for you. I can relate. If they nerfed BBQ tomorrow and made it useless, then I'd have problem. Because it's my favorite perk in the game. A little bit of info exactly when I need and I only have to do what I would do anyway.
But I wouldn't unequip it no matter what. So they'd have to force me. You might call it tyrannical but this is better than repeating the DH situation where 75% of players would run the same perk. Somehow they managed to keep this game alive in spite all of its flaws but there is no denying that the game can feel stale at times. If a game feels stale for a long time, then people will stop playing and this will lead to the game slowly yet surely reaching the end of its life span.
I agree that the devs have shown how much they care about their game. They might not always see things in the same way we do and sometimes make decisions that we are not happy with but ultimately they do their best. And recently they have also been better at communicating. Overall, I am happy about the direction they want to go in the future even if I don't like the current meta (for both sides).
-
While I do agree that BHVR sometimes go too hard on the nerfs it is good that they try to keep the game from getting too stale. We can't go back to before 6.1.0 where survivors and killers would run the same perks for years. Not when we have hundreds of perks and addons to chose from. At least in theory.

Billy was my favorite. Until they nerfed him.
I played all of the variations of Billy, curve, quiet, insta saw...
I liked em all. The only one that needed to go was insta saw.
I still play Billy and he can still be fun. But he can't hold a candle to the fun of old Billy. Billy did not need the nerf.I just wish they'd take off overheat.
Honestly, me too. The overheat doesn't really serve a purpose anymore. It only nerfs Driftking Billy, which is too bad because it was pretty fun. I never got the chance to play old Billy but even then the current version is quite infuriating from time to time. Maps were not designed with this killer in mind. Which is a shame because he is one of the original killers.
The worst thing is that he was replaced even on the official DBD artwork. By Hag! And Hag is hated by a good portion of survivor players. It just feels so disrespectful to a killer that is widely agreed on as fun for both sides.
Well, BHVR said they'd show him so love so here is hoping!
The addons were less what interested me and more how you play him. But if you do play curve Billy and do not get frustrated, then you have my respect. I still turn a thousand shades of red when I bump into things I can't see. After hundreds of hours on this killer.
-
Does that really happen that often? It's been a while since I had this happen in one of my own matches but from the number of posts about this it seems to be quite common.
Regardless, it is a ######### thing to do. So you should report the survivor and they should get their punishment. When it comes to the killer, I'm not sure how to do deal with them. Because they supported unsportsmanlike behavior even if the didn't act in that way themself.

Interaction is fine. Having the Killer fighting to be able to use their power at all is not.
The weird thing is, that some people perform really good with Singularity. I don't know how they do it because I have the same problem. I do a bunch of stuff and then my power is disabled. But some people do get really good results.
On the PTB it didn't look too terrible for Xenomorph. At least to me. But it will probably come down to the killer playing very careful around certain loops that might block vision from the turrets. We'll see how that goes.

Just curious because I haven't seen someone say that Billy feels nice to play.
Do you play flick / curve Billy or are you more of a casual enjoyer of his kit without going too much into the depths? No shame in either of them but as you said it is a rather unpopular opinion. So I would like to hear it.

The idea is to force some kind of interaction between survivors and killers. That isn't a bad thing by any means. The execution however is far from perfect.

If bhvr pull out their data spreadsheet they would see map of the realm is #1 used addon no doubt about it but that's my speculation and I don't work at their company.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3512645#Comment_3512645
Very true. Doctor at least need a range addon basekit. Which pig and hillbilly addons do you want to see basekit?
For Pig I'd like to see Combat Straps or maybe the Workshop Grease at least partially base kit. As it is, her ambush is rather weak and completely useless on quite a number of loops because the survivor can simply leave as soon as the Pig starts crouching.
Billy is very reliant on the engravings so it would be nice to see his base speed slightly increased and the addons changed accordingly. Even 5% would make him feel a lot better. Though you probably could even go as far as making the Death Engraving without the downside base kit. I reckon, if they did change him in that regard they would let us test it on the PTB and we could see if 10% would be too strong.
-
I'm not an expert on these things but can you completely avoid triggering PTSD in a horror game? If it is possible, then that should be looked into.
But PTSD could also be triggered by sounds such as a chainsaw or whatever else. I am not sure how that could be completely avoided without changing the game in its core. For Dredge in particular there isn't much you can do to avoid it completely. Even the darkness might be enough to trigger it in some people. The screams could probably be changed as an accessibility option but it wouldn't be easy to achieve similar results. The noise is meant to be unsettling and obstructing. If they can come up with something, then it would be nice to see that.
Increasing the blurriness of Clown's bottles would risk people to become motion sick. I think there isn't much you can change about that without nerfing him.
For Doctor there probably is a way to do something. Although I am not sure how you would achieve the same results. It wouldn't make sense for the visuals to be not flashy at all but BHVR could probably come up with something that might work, although I can't think of something on the spot.
Something else I'd like to see is some kind of help for killers with hearing impairments. This could be something as simple as an icon that shows you that there is generator noise, survivor grunts or footsteps. Completely undirectional and maybe only in close proximity but it would help tremendously.
-
There are more than a few killers, that need some adjustments in this regard. Map Of The Realm should be base kit as well as Toy Sword. Other killers like Pig, Doctor and Hillbilly need 1 of their addons to be partially base kit and the addons adjusted accordingly.
-
Adrenaline? No. 3 minutes until all gens are done, Adrenaline, MFT, Hope, Resilience? Yes.
-
Brutal Strength, Jolt, STBFL and an info perk of your choice should work really well. Or you use Deadlock instead of info.
This should work pretty well. But unfortunately the past few days have been a bit extreme in terms of gen times. So you might not get it on your first attempt.
-
"OMG, the killer tries to win! Please, BHVR. Stop making challenges that encourage killers to actually play the game."
You are literally complaining about a killer trying to win. It's unfortunate that they tunneled / camped for that but the challenge itself is not the issue. It's more about tunneling and camping. Which will be looked at in the future.
-
"It's just chess, bro."
In all honesty, I have no idea. I mean, I get it for a game of basement Bubba. Sometimes you just feel like you want to take it easy and that is definitely an option.
But Chess Merchant is different. How do you even stay awake that whole time? I've had matches where I was held hostage by cheaters and even that was probably more fun than playing Chess Merchant.
-
I think he needs a bit of both extra speed and extra turn rate. Maybe 5% more speed with the chainsaw (and the Engravings adjusted). Spiked Boots base kit is a bit much though. Maybe 15% more turn rate but 44% is pretty high. 15% would help tremendously, although you wouldn't perform much better on Lery's. Because on that map you barely make it around the corners with both boots.

I have a love/hate-relationship with Billy. I used to play him all the time before they butchered his animations. This was even before they nerfed him. But ever since then, I have the same loop - I play Billy and hate it. Then I get a daily or have a challenge where playing Billy is nice, so I play him and have a lot of fun. Until a few games later and I hate Billy again.
Overheat is not really a problem and was not a problem (since it left the PTB). If you missed your Chainsaws a lot and were really overambitious, you could Overheat, but that is on the player. Nowadays Overheat does exactly nothing. They can remove it at this point, because it has no purpose at all. Before the purpose was also questionable considering that it was so lenient, but nowadays there is no purpose.
When it comes to Add Ons, I think they are more on the weak site, but I dont really know what to do with Billy Add Ons. Because honestly, he should not have Chargetime or Cooldown Add Ons, those were really way too strong back in the day.
But I have to say, my main problem with him are still his hitboxes and his FoV. I run Shadowborn, this helps a lot with the FoV, but I did not need to run Shadowborn before they changed his animations. But nowadays, I feel it is a must to have a decent FoV with Billy. And you still bump into stuff you cannot see.
And when it comes to Hitboxes - his Chainsaw Hitbox is comically huge, which is nice to hit with it, but it is not really needed. And it also causes you to bump into little twigs and other stuff.
But they announced they will take a look at Billy, so I am curious what they do.
That first part sums it up perfectly. Billy is a fun killer but a few matches in and you hate him. Then you go for a while without playing him and you wonder why you hated him that much. So you give him another chance and the cycle repeats. You love to hate to him and hate love him.
It's also sad that they removed Skybilly. This makes him even more clunky to play on certain maps because you bump in the air. I get it with main buildings but even some hills have these invisible walls.
-
Overheat is mostly fine, although it's exactly as I said on the PTB. It has no reason to exist anymore. If we don't use it to limit him in camping, which is no longer the case, then why does it exist at all?
Other than that Hillbilly does not feel 'nice to play'. You bump into things you can't see, miss survivors that are centre screen, get crouch teched, have half of your screen covered by the chainsaw, feel clunky when you stop the chainsaw instead of bumping, have 3 good addons, some ok-ish addons and quite a lot useless addons and need to play incredibly precise to get somewhat decent results. Then there is also the problem with maps, that limit his mobility and curving potential (good luck curving a circle or square) and his animations that just feel uncomfortable.
And this is coming from someone that has played Billy for hundreds of hours. He is fun but 'nice to play' aren't the words I'd use for him. He needs some quality of life improvements. Well, at least we know that something is going to happen in regards to the killer's FOV. So that is a big improvement.

I am not in low elo, actually I am trying to depip to get easier and more calm games.
And please in the future don't reply to me without proof of your achievements as survivors.
I need concrete proof of you facing the Nurse whom,I believe both you and the Reinami guy said "has counterplay".
I'm not sure what you mean by depipping. Because that has nothing to do with matchmaking. You can reach Iri 1 and still lose most of your matches. It's just a lot harder because you get a lot of points for winning. If you want easier matches, then you need to lose. Otherwise your MMR won't decrease.
I am not insanely good as survivor either. But I've noticed that since the HUD change my solo queue games have gotten a lot better. Part of that is me having more info and being able to make better decisions and also my team mates that have gotten a lot better. I still have the occasional dc or hook suicide but these don't happen as often as you implied. For me it's a rather rare occurence.
I didn't imply anything about Nurse. I think she lacks counterplay but she is also the 1 thing that killers have to go against the strongest the survivors can show up with. She is a crutch and too strong for casual players but somehow balanced for the absolute highest level players. I don't know where you would have seen me say something like: "Nurse has sufficient counterplay." I'm pretty sure you mistake me for someone else here.
Edit: Sorry, I didn't check the usernames. You replied to a post that was not directed at you but at @TragicSolitude and I didn't realize it wasn't them who replied. So now I have probably mixed up some things.

While the lower levels do often have a killer stomp rate, how can you say that the only viable part of taking MMR seriously is at the top when swfs dominate the field? 4 solo survivors with high MMR can be 3 or 4k by a killer of the same caliber
I did not say that. You misunderstand the point.
I am of the believe that most people are in mid MMR. Even most of the people that claim they are in high MMR are probably just average players. So we should mostly balance around that level (because most of us are there). Which BHVR does more or lest successful. Sometimes it feels like survivors can make an infinite amount of mistakes and still stomp you by doing the bare minimum and other times it feels as though the killer is unbeatable.
This is because both sides make mistakes, often without even realizing it. There are also a number of other factors like maps and loadouts that can turn the match in one's favor.
I genuinely think that Peanits said the truth when he shared with us that only a very small portion of players is in high and low MMR. This portion is probably so small that for survivors only the very best solos and SWFs get up there. Which means they do stand a very real chance against the killers they face. They won't make huge mistakes and they will show some basic level of coordination no matter if they are in a SWF or solo group. At that level most killers just can't realistically compete anymore. Because if survivors work efficiently they outpace about 75% of the killer roaster by default. And then you also need to consider what happens when all survivors are good not just in the 1v4 but also in the 1v1.
Your average to somewhat good killer relies on the survivor making mistakes to end their chases more quickly. When these don't happen, then the killer takes much longer to get a down, which leads to less pressure resulting into more free gen time for survivors, which leads to faster games and more survivors escaping.
What I write in this paragraph is only a theory as we do not have any official explanation for it. If you have another theory feel free to disagree and inform me about any flaws in this argument. The reason we haven't seen kill rates drop significantly in high MMR is because BHVR have shown us kill rates that portrayed how well the top 5% killers on each individual killer did. Meaning that it is possible that the highest MMR Freddy main is just barely below the soft cap for high MMR and for that reason plays against average players. The MMR system should limit matches where killers get absolutely destroyed severely (and I assume it does). This would also lead to killers only getting to a point where they can still barely compete with very little exceptions (highest level survivor groups). Any higher than that and their win-lose ratio leads to their MMR dropping and their matches getting slightly easier (presumably), which balances their kill rates out again.
Basically what I am saying is that most killers have a lower cap in what they can achieve than survivors. Meaning, at some point it doesn't matter how good you are as killer. Because you get held back by the game. More so than the survivors.

Oh yeah, morale is definitely a factor when it gets down to two survivors left. But I'm frustrated beyond belief by how often this non-participation is going on from the beginning with all four survivors still in the match. The HUD shows them doing nothing, and then my friend or I will get downed to see the other two survivors are getting in and out of lockers or just hanging out on the second story of some building doing nothing. This was a serious problem before the event, but now it happens in at least half of our matches if not more.
This happens with aggressive killers, farming killers, and AFK killers. The survivors are the problem. I see many survivors who escape with fewer than 8k points. That shouldn't be possible.
No offense but it sounds like you are in low MMR hell. That doesn't necessarily you mean you are bad at the game but it does mean that getting out of there won't be easy. Unfortunately such a thing exists in every multiplayer coop game. In DBD it is probably at its worst since you play in a team of 4 against 1 person. That means that all 4 should work together but especially in low MMR this does not work out. You get team mates that have no idea what they are doing you get team mates that are just bad and all of this drags you down.
Once you get out of there it will be better though. You will still get the occasional incredibly bad lobby but overall it is manageable.

Oh bohohooo,Mr. Killers haven't gotten 4Ks and 50 wins in a row,how stressful...
You might want to relax by playing Nurse and showing these power role Survivors proper manners!
That ought to teach them not to understimate you again!
The strongest killer in the game cannot be the standard. A majority of players (most killer mains included) agree that this Nurse and Blight are overpowered. But these are only 2 out of 32 killers in this game.
Good luck achieving the same results with the other killers.
-
"Killers have it too easy." Wow. That is a hot take, if I've ever seen one. The 1 killer that has to sweat like their life depends on it and still barely competes in the game with 4 survivors that chill on gens and relax for the most part has it too easy. Killer is a much more stressful role than survivor is. And it has always been this way. You get no down time when you play killer. You are constantly on the clock and your mistakes matter a lot more.
"I let a lot of survivors escape because I feel pity for them." That explains a lot. Pretty much your entire post. DBD has a MMR system. Letting survivors go means you technically lose to them. Which artificially keeps your MMR low and in turn means you get to go against bad survivors.
If the devs played this game once in a month against a high level SWF the game would be dead. High level SWFs limit themselves in terms of perks, items, addons and offerings and still stomp killers without any restrictions. Survivors are way stronger than killers, if they play good enough. And at that point it doesn't matter how good the killer is because they still lose when survivors stop restricting themselves.
At the lowest level, the killer is way stronger than the survivors. If you want an explanation for that, feel free to ask and I'll go into detail. But the higher you go, the stronger survivors become and the weaker killers become in comparison.
What I take from your post is that you play at a pretty low level. Which is ok. No shame in that. But it does not represent the actual state of the game.

The kill rates on Nightlight change so frequently and so drastically that I wouldn't trust this too much. If it was like that for an extended period of time, then that would actually give us a bit of an idea on how well this killer performs. Even with the small sample size.
However, that does not yet mean that a killer is weak. Nurse could have the lowest kill rate and she'd still be the strongest killer. In case of Singularity it would only show us what we already know. You're either extremely good with this killer and win many games or you're more like me and don't know how you should get value out of its power and lose the majority of your matches.

Chaos mode: A second game mode with a bunch of random stuff. You play Claudette? Well, the killer hits you and now you are Ace (or any other character that you own). The killer plays Clown and suddenly they are turned into Nurse. Your perks keep switching randomly. Pallets de- and respawn randomly. Basically, they add another game mode that is so random, that you can't play it competitively because everything is so unbalanced.
A casual game mode is not going to help. Because then you also have more competitive people, that just want to go in there and stomp the hell out of their opponents. Removing MMR would lead to the same thing. You have a few people that stomp everyone else.

Best is easily ace. The worst probably haddie.
Nobody compares to Ace. That smile... Why is he still smiling even when the killer moris him?

I don't know why either. But it seems that survivors and killers create their own worst enemies. You play nice as killer and the survivors will try to make you feel bad until you are done with playing nice and start playing mean. If you play survivor and don't teabag, use the strongest items and bm in whatever way, then the killer will try to make you feel bad by slugging you for 4 minutes, hitting you on the hook or whatever they can think off.
This is not every match. There are friendly players out there. But it is common to see this behavior. The best any of us can do is to try and stay positive but I know that this is easier said than done.
I used to play without addons and with pretty nice perks and go for as many hooks as possible in my killer matches. But I have a breaking point too. These past few days a majority of my matches have ended in me getting harrassed in end game chat, messages under my steam profile and a lot of bming in game. Maybe it's time to put on Insidious and play a round of basement Bubba. If I'm going to get insulted anyway, then I can at least give them a reason to do so.

yeah. the game just has too many pallets in general. you can play great the entire match but if the survivors don't screw up and play safe with the pallets, they'll still have a lot left when the game ends. which to me is insane.
I also play a lot of m1 killers, and it's annoying that sometimes I can't do anything besides looping until I force a pallet.
too many safe pallets. I rather them all be mindgameable.

yes. I fully agree.
regular shack is too safe. dead dawg shack is harder to play with as a survivor but still perfectly fine to use. it's great.

Turn into Nurse halfway into the match and blink right through? Well, sorry. I haven't mastered that tech yet.
skill issue. just gotta do the triple backflip into a double jump over the cowshed to unlock the ability. EZ
And we haven't even talked about RNG yet.
the annoying part about rng is that I have also been at the other side of this when just nothing spawns... wish it was more consistent.
it's not really worth it to leave the pallet still intact
yeah... sucks.

I like battles of attrition. from both sides.
also, don't get you point.
the game is designed so that the killer will catch the survivor. but sometimes the tile spawns just say, "no you won't". or the map will look at your power and say "you bettter be a god with that".
the survivors aren't meant to win chases, they are meant to delay the killer. yes, the killer should very much consistently and quickly be able to catch the survivor, it's exactly what makes the game fair. it's why it's a 4v1, you have a team.
Damn, I can only manage 2 backflips. Guess I'll have to break my fingers to do more elaborate button combinations. Or maybe I'll use the forbidden tech: "Play Nurse".
I have also seen bad RNG for survivors but it's very uncommon to see a map super weak because of RNG compared to some ridiculous set ups. BHVR should definitely look into it and turn down the influence of RNG down a notch to mitigate both of these extremes.

"Why do you smoke?"
It's basically the same question. And the answer is: I don't know.
-
They are pretty realistic honestly. If I didn't know they were bots from looking at the HUD I'd think of them as real players. They even teabag and click their flashlights at the killer!

I guess the solution would be locking lobbies and not allowing players to dodge them.
That is definitely an option. But couldn't the backfill algorithm also be changed to favor the quality of the match over queue time in the way that matchmaking does normally? I have my doubts that it would take that long to replace a player. But of course I don't have the actual data.

You forgot the Myers House, Pog Logs and that one tile in the corner of Garden of Misery (with the car, pallet and vault).
Even some killers with good chasing powers can't do anything against most of these tiles. It really is that ridiculous. The worst part is, that these are all pretty easy to loop when you play survivor. Because what is the killer going to do? Turn into Nurse halfway into the match and blink right through? Well, sorry. I haven't mastered that tech yet.
My main issue with many of these tiles is that Nurse and Blight don't really care. Nurse doesn't care if there is 1 pallet, 10 pallets, 100 pallets or no pallets at all. She will play the exact same. And Blight can play around these things no matter if there is a pallet or not. Meanwhile you have Trapper, Clown, Pig, Doctor, Freddy, Wraith, Myers, Legion, Bubba, Ghostface, Demogorgon, Twins, Dredge, Sadako, Billy and even Nemesis to degree, who have no chance to do anything better than just following the survivor step by step until they bloodlust and the survivor drops the pallet or the entity blocks the vault. Such engaging gameplay, when it doesn't matter if you have a lot of experience and play pretty well or if you just installed the game 5 minutes ago and have no idea what to do.
And we haven't even talked about RNG yet. Because there are set ups that leave even killers with stronger chase powers in awe at how horrible it can get. I have experienced first hand what happens when a somewhat good survivor (neither extremely good nor bad) has the double window in Father Campbell's Chapel and a interconnecting TL wall. 4 windows connecting into each other. Sounds fine? No it doesn't. Because it isn't. On the new Cowshed map you can get 2 long tiles right next to each other. On Toba Landing you can get 2 vaults right next to each other plus a few filler pallets around. Great. The average killer can definitely outplay a survivor that has 2+ seconds to react to everything they do.
Most pallets are so safe that even if you could manage to get a hit because the survivor made a huge mistake it's not really worth it to leave the pallet still intact. Because the next survivor will be smarter. And then you have to break it anyway. Something else I find funny is the amount of pallets we have on some maps. If a survivor doesn't even try to loop but just drops pallets left and right, that should leave them with huge dead zones and no more ressources left, right? Well, it doesn't. Because the game is over before they run out of pallets to pre drop. The Game is the worst offender but the Borgo, Eyrie of Crows, Red Forest maps and Garden of Misery follow suit.
-
Technically you can do this on every map. There is no map that wouldn't allow you to trigger it at all. Worst case scenario, you have to use the basement stairs. This is far from ideal but possible none the less.
That being said, if you are trying to get this challenge done, there is always RPD, Haddonfield and the Red Forest maps. If you have this challenge on, then using a map offering can help greatly.
-
You can use it and it will give you a bit of value but Huntress can play around vaults pretty good for the most part. It's a decent perk but not all that good on Huntress in particular.
-
How would tunneling be unfair? It's not against any rules and any killer can do it.
-
Play however you like but don't expect everyone to be happy about it. You can't please everyone. As for myself, I probably wouldn't disconnect against you but I hate this killer with a passion and would rather not play than playing against her no matter what kind of chess you want to play.
Edit: Typo

I have not seen the nodding yet.
Do you have any clips or footage of it?
