Hag is like F tier since you can just wipe her traps now lol but Clown can throw a bottle at a gen and get a good 10 seconds of no one being allowed to touch that gen along with a loud noise notification and a slowdown if they try.
I haven't played or played against Hag since the change honestly so I'm not sure I just remember having my own 20-25 minute Hag games back when she was peak lol.
That being said I can't imagine a Clown holding that 3 gen for the same amount of time the SM did or come anywhere close. Part of the equation is the skill checks were silent due to the shotgun speakers and how much lost progress that added up to and add in the fact how much the clown player would have to stop and reload Clown is holding that 3 gen 8-10 minutes tops not 53 minutes.

Shes literally B tier if 3 gens dont spawn close to each other (Which is fine). Skull Merchant isnt the problem its the fact 3 gens can spawn where ANY killer can easily hold the same 3 gen that she pushes it over. If the gens are even moderately too far apart she's extremely easy to disable. The problem isn't SM its 3 gens in general she just exploits that already broken system.
Suggesting a let's say Clown can hold a 3 gen in the same way a Merchant can is a bit disingenuous no? They both can for at least some period of time but the Clown is not making the game last 50 minutes. The only other killer that could even come close to doing that is maybe Hag.
-
Who won is almost secondary here and a lot of people are missing the point.
The real point here is the top comp team in the world got stalled for 53 minutes by someone with absolutely no chase skill and only kicked gens nonstop and only stopping to occasionally slug people if the SM player had any actual game sense at all and realized they coulda gotten the Nea out of the game making the game functionally over and they would have won.
Meaning you can functionally stall games in pubs for basically free if you really want to and that isn't healthy game design and not good for the growth of DBD, if Skull Merchant was actually widely played and played only this way I would bet she would actually get changed in 2-3 weeks cuz nobody would wanna play DBD.
-
There's already a thread about it but yeah this is probably the straw that broke the camel's back in regards to Skull Merchant. BHVR can't do nothing in regards to SM and it probably needs to be sooner rather than later because what occurred yesterday shouldn't be possible.
-
Also how many of the missed skill checks was overcharge is unclear because oppression was also in play and good luck hitting silent random hard skill checks.
-
For people saying missing the skill checks was eternals fault you're missing a few key details.
1. The SM player was using shotgun speakers which make the skill checks silent.
2. The 3 gen was extremely compact and the SM player never left it and hitting silent overcharge skill checks when the killer is always around and you have to play injured is nerve racking no matter who you are.
-
I watched the vod and....wow.
First off it probably says something that the SM in question is on kick but I'll keep that to myself. The fact that the SM player from the beginning planned to win by server timeout is pretty cringe and I'll save everyone who hasn't seen it some time and tell you the vod is literally just kicking a 3 gen with eruption and overcharge with a lot of slugging for 50 minutes before they eventually lose because they don't know how to chase. I'm not kidding not one attempt was made to chase the entire gd game the only time survivors went down was only in dead zones when team eternal ran into corners intending to go down.
Meanwhile the SM player is talking about how they're gen rushing and what he was doing was chess it got to the point where I don't know if it was parody or he actually believed the things they were saying when 90% of the game was gen kicking. I used to think SM could be salvaged they just had to move where her power was a bit but after that I'm really not sure. If it was hindered instead of expose would that fix it? I'm really not sure.
-
is there a link the a vod?

Lollipop Chainsaw is one of the paragraphs I want most but I feel like it's way too small to ever happen.
-
I feel like the game has to be at least 70-75% console.
Being someone that plays killer on controller on PC though I don't think it's that bad it just locks you out of very specific killers but not the ones you'd think. The aim based killers are actually fine for me and I used to main Deathslinger before they nerfed tf out of him.
The killers that need quick precise flicks like Blight, Oni, Executioner, Hillbilly are the real ones I feel I'm unable to lock their full potential but the others work just fine.
-
Yes and no.
It's true the killer probably isn't magically getting a 4k at end game if nobody is dead but it does mean if you do go down you're probably screwed cuz the killer is never leaving once you're hooked and even with grabs being removed we're probably just playing hook roulette at end game so somebody is dying.
I know that doesn't really make the killer feel better but no survivor really wants to be the one the doesn't make it out.
-
I'm all for nerfing the drones if the claw traps get buffed. Make the haste buff 5/6/8/10 and make the traps last a full minute and make the drones active for 15 seconds possibly even 10 down from 20 and I think that's a pretty fair trade and makes the drones worse at protecting targets while encouraging SM to chase with such a high initial haste buff because you still get exposed if you don't deal with them so they'll still be hacked.

I'm finally giving this killer a shot and honestly I don't think I've ever played a killer this frustrating before. At least Billy can use the saw for mobility even if you can't get chainsaw hits. So far with singularity it's 2-3 gens done before I even find anyone looking through the pods just feels like a waste of time and then when you finally slipstream someone it's gone in 2 seconds with a EMP and the pod along with it.
I feel like it's gonna be days before this feels even remotely worth learning.
So as an update to this once I stopped using the pods early game and started using them solely in chase things have gone a lot better to the point people will actually D/C the second things get hard for them pretty often now.
However now that I'm starting to understand them a bit better this just feels like a simultaneously better and worse Nemesis which idk how you even do that. Worse as in you basically have to infect them and basically hit them 3-4 times depending on if they have an EMP or not but better in the payoff is teleporting in chase and annihilating pallets even better than nemmy does. I'll keep learning them and see where it goes but I think a lot of streamers are overrating Singularity a bit (my guess is hard copium after they all hated SM) while the community at large is underrating them and they feel pretty B tier/Average to me right now.
-
You mean I can wipe off the "Do Bones" replies again after all this time?

It would be cool if the silent hill map transformed between worlds every so often but that would probably make the game sputter out and die lol.

Trapper: BHVR clearly sees him as a tutorial killer and not for actually ranking up so it's clear he's gonna be F tier forever.
Wraith: I don't know why but every high rank Wraith camps and tunnels with him which is weird considering he's a zoomy boy. Not complaining it's just weird considering what he's capable of.
Hillbilly: Actually the hardest killer to play in the game.
Nurse: The special attack nerf actually did it's job and she's much less annoying to play against now, still don't like her much though.
Myers: Either A tier or F tier depending on add-ons and I don't think that's healthy.
Hag: Better than a lot of people suggested for a long time but she's gradually getting left behind.
Doctor: People who play this killer just wanna hear you scream tbh the kills are secondary.
Huntress: Huntress should actually replace Trapper as the face of the game IMO. She's more popular been around almost as long and actually strong.
Bubba-Along with Freddy one of the worst examples of the effects of time crunch I've ever seen.
Freddy-See above.
Pig-Should be nerfed.
Clown-When people know how do use his piss bottles he's actually scary fortunately only 5% of clown players actually do.
Spirit-I don't really have anything to say here, she's fine.
Legion-Most overpowered character ever released when they first came out and it's crazy to see how far they've fallen.
Plague-Should have replaced Spirit in Hooked on You.
Ghost Face-The memelords of killer players.
Demogorgon-[REDACTED]
Oni-I feel like everyone who plays this killer plays like they're either rank 20 or rank 1 and nothing in between.
Deathslinger-Most likely to also play CoD/CSGO
Executioner-The best licensed killer ever released in terms of staying true to the source material even more than Myers or Wesker.
Blight-I actually think Blight as surpassed Nurse as the best killer in the game.
Twins-Scared for the rework.
Trickster-Literally just Jared Leto in suicide squad
Nemesis-I feel like Nemesis players are the ones most likely to BM both in game and in chat.
Cenobite-The most oppressive killer in soloQ if they know box spawn logic.
Artist-Deserves more mains, the best killer nobody is playing.
Onryo-The only killer that can still jump scare me.
Dredge-Literally just Jared Leto IRL.
Wesker-Least favorite killer doesn't belong in DBD and I'll die on that hill. Gets way too much value for a power that's easy to use.
Knight-Meh on release but much better now and using guards to flush out survivors with long paths is so much fun but way too add-on reliant.
Skull Merchant-She's fine I actually think she's the most average killer in the game and people overreact to her ability to 3 gen on most maps.
Singularity-I predict in a year there will be like 5 Singularity mains that will make him look High A tier and he'll remain a mystery to everyone else.
-
It's so weird to me everytime there's calls to nerf something someone will demand to nerf something on the other side like it's a negotiation, you know the other side isn't actually in control of anything and bhvr makes these choices right?
As for the topic of bloodlust I don't know too many killers that even reach Bloodlust I don't think anyone even would care if 2 and 3 are gone you actually need to be a bad killer to get that high and I would actually encourage them to get rid of it because it would make bad killers better faster.
Bloodlust 1 I'm torn on but ultimately there are still enough stupid map designs in the game I think it's warranted and at 15 seconds to activate it's not like it's abusable, you see it pop up and it's literally like a big sign letting you know you're losing.
-
I actually think Singularity is closer to Ash than Xenomorph but I agree Alien as a movie feels like the inspiration.
-
Just because behavior went out and bought Band-Aids that isn't an excuse to keep creating injuries.
-
I kind of think killer should focus on killing. Otherwise it'd be called hooker and.... that's probably for a different genre of game.
-
The funny thing is you could say the same thing about Blight... it's uuhhh pretty effective.
-
I personally think it's right now.
I don't get DS'd 4 times in 90 seconds.
I don't have to wait for DH or worry about it artificially extending a chase another 20 seconds.
I don't care if anyone has a key and worry about everyone just leaving at 1-2 gens.
I don't have to worry about a OoO user relaying my every move to a SWF.
I don't have to deal with boil over squads running to 3rd floor RPD.
I don't have to worry about teams being healed in no time at all cuz of CoH and can actually spread pressure.
I know I have at least 50 more seconds minimum to create pressure in some cases more because of increased gen time.
Yeah I had to trade ruin/undying for it but these people crying about 3% movement speed don't know how good they have it rn. Literally my only complaint is Forest and Garden need major reworks but otherwise I'm happy as a killer.

Probably with the extra forum profile pictures we were promised 7 months ago.

I kind of don't notice MfT in my games, I feel like it destroys very specific killers like Singularity and Pig and does nothing against everyone else.
The endurance is probably stronger than the 3% and that should probably be taken out after the buckle up buff.
-
It's leagues better than what it was a few months ago with the gen kick meta and many more perks are viable compared to what you listed.
-
Killer: Forced Penance, having someone broken for 80 seconds is so powerful and even if it only triggers 2-3 times that can be enough to snowball to victory.
Survivor: Breakdown, locking out a hook for 3 minutes is an eternity in DBD it lost a little bit of usefulness due to how Pain Res works now but it's a decent counter and can really make you unhookable in some situations more so than boil over.

You need to be far away from other Survivors, not the Killer, I never said you need to be far away from the Killer and avoid contact.
Right but by your logic if someone else is near the killer you shouldn't be ergo the counterplay is to not be near the killer or if you are hope your teammates arn't thereby taking away legion's power and then you're just looping trapless trapper.
I'm still not seeing how this is fun?
-
When the counterplay to a killer is be far away and hope the killer doesn't interact with you there might be a problem.
-
The problem with Trickster is he struggleds on most maps a bully squad will want to take you to but I acknowledge main event will destroy a team that doesn't respect it.

######### is a larry?
I don't think wraith can get bullied as much as he did before, now that his flashlight burn is gone. Pinhead is quite the victim if someone keeps hold of the box, same as Twins but she can recall after a while.
Singularity = Larry
Pinhead is totally dependent on fighting over the box if you win you bully the survivors if you lose they can bully you so it's really a toss up but he gets into B tier cuz he can create entity blockers at gates if he chains someone and downs them so t-bagging at the gate is usually a bad idea against him.
Wraith is kinda just a regular m1 killer so he falls victim to basically everything.
Twins can keep people from leaving and victor can be a warning detection system against flashlights but maybe they belong in B tier instead cuz they fall prey to power struggle builds that usually run unbreakable and teamwork in general.
-
Knight is harder to master than Nurse.
Windows is the most overrated perk in the game and it's usage rate is far above what it deserves.
-
Best cosmetic Yun-Jin has bar none.
Idk none of these blow me away but they're nice and hating on the artists is unhinged....so average DBD community behavior lol.
-
Yeah Calendar feels required if you don't want playing Dredge to be a frustrating experience, I hate when behavior makes add-ons that you pretty much have to fun if you want the killer to feel smooth. It's been a problem since Rat Liver Demo and it's only continued since then although knowing behavior it just means they'll nerf calendar and buff war helmet by 0.5 seconds.
Outside of it taking too long to come out of locked lockers I think Dredge is okay, they'll never be top tier but that's okay as long as they're fun to play and they mostly are. Maybe don't force Dredge to TP to the locked locker in a cluster and let them be more precise is the only other change I'd do. It would make the caffeine tablets a really good add-on.
-
Troubleshooter is actually a good perk and with the upcoming Scene Partner you can have wallhacks on the killer a good amount of the time in chase and I predict it'll be a decent build for confident loopers.
Scavenger is situational but I still think it's usable it's just generally outshined by Built to Last + Streetwise which in turn is probably worse than Resilience + Deja Vu. Just shows how good gen perks are atm.
As for MfT I think it's a good perk but it's a little overrated IMO with how many complaints there are. It's only feels unfair at endgame with hope but outside of that a lot of killer powers don't care about it. Like sure it'll make Pig, Dredge, Sadako Wraith, Freddy, and maybe Doctor miserable but none of those killers are good in the first place. 3% is pretty negligible against experienced killer players playing top tier killers because most of them have speed based powers. In that sense I don't think it's a well designed perk if it makes all the lower tier killers even worse but it is what it is.
The build you listed is pretty meta though it's just that Adrenaline is far and away the best survivor perk in the game right now so one of those perks usually gets ditched (usually deja vu unless your planning on being a dedicated gen jockey) because people can't fit every good perk in their build.
-
Wesker, I don't think he's interesting to loop seeing his power is just going in a straight line very fast but in a way that's less interesting than blight or nurse and most of his hits at windows feel cheesy. I also don't think he fits DBD at all, I'm just being chased by a smug ######### in sunglasses it's pretty immersion breaking.
-
It's very clear from the changes BHVR intends for players to play at least half the match injured so I doubt they'll buff self-care.
-
The fact that blight continues to evade an add-on pass just so BHVR can continue to destroy billy is beyond belief. Just absolutely bizarre decision making here.
-
Infinite Tombstone Myers is just time attack mode. Either you leave before they get tier 3 or you lose but if you lose it literally just means you weren't efficient enough. It's a little dumb on silent hill maybe but there's so many line of sight breakers on that map you should still be able to manage.
-
You laugh at them and go next, I don't wanna say just survivors but the survivor side does it WAAAAAAY more where they'll find any excuse they can postgame for why they lost. Just today I got brought to cowshed and 3k'd with hatch and postgame they were salty and complained about me relying on slowdown when my build was Brutal/Brine/Devour/Undying lol. People will stack the odds in their favor then lose anyway and complain so don't worry about it you didn't do anything wrong.
TL;DR is Hoes Mad but don't worry about it.
-
The problem is people kind of need to pick their poison when it comes to what killer strats they're willing to deal with because just saying you want no tunneling, no camping, and no strong regression or gen defense doesn't really work unless you want gens to be nerfed to 120 seconds or something because trying to 12 hook with no repeating hooks is just not a viable strategy unless you're nurse or blight.
-
I think it depends on the killer your playing and tailoring the killer you play and your perks to your playstyle. A lot of people will run 3 or 4 slowdowns but personally struggle a lot more when I run builds like that and not to mention find them dull to play. If you're struggling in chase more slowdowns arn't going to make you better in chase. I find myself running brutal strength, bamboozle, and STBFL a lot because I play a lot of m1 killers and often need the help in chase and once I get a few quick downs that momentum usually helps me more than any regression perk does most of the time. When I do want slowdown I'll use Brine a lot sure but honestly Plaything/Pentimento is my favorite slowdown combination because it wastes so much time and gives you time to breath while they look for totems.
Ultimately it's up to you to find the answer for yourself. The best advice I can give is just experiment a bunch with different killers and perks and really think about what your playstyle is and what is the most fun for you when you play killer because you're much more likely to succeed if you enjoy what the gameplay loop you're engaging in. If you want more help you can give a rough idea of what your playstyle is and I can give suggestions off that.
-
I feel like at this rate we'll be lucky if we get them before anni.
-
People still go to the exit gates?
-
I feel like the only reason GF and SM get to see and Plague doesn't is because Plague is far stronger. I don't think Plague needs it but if BHVR wanted to be logically consistent she would get it.

I agree. It seems we now get coop perks instead. I don´t really know what to think about this.
BHVR: We'll make a whole class of perks centered around all the survivors staying together I'm sure they'll be really strong

1 second to run into the zone, 1 to 2 seconds to hack it, 30 seconds of battery...
3% haste for 33 seconds
Throw down a drone at a loop and the survivor leaves 1 second after the zone activates...
5% haste for 1 second, and then back to 3%
Fun
Is it worth dropping chase to reset your drones for another 30 seconds of boost?
Doubt
The claw traps are 45 seconds and you can extend it to around 51 seconds with an add-on.

Skull merchant S tier and blight F tier is crazy to me. 🤯
I prefer characters that let me be creative with my power and play it a bunch of different ways. Characters that just do one thing aren't that interesting to me.
The other thing is I've never liked playing high tier characters in any game because it makes it feel empty when I win because it feels like I'm supposed to win if I'm playing that character competently at all. I enjoy the problem solving that goes into making weaker characters work because it makes it feel like more of an accomplishment when I win.
