Kind of ordered within tiers although a lot of it is interchangeable
-
It's 3, 5, 6, 7.
I think it should be 3, 5, 8, 10 personally considering at 4 traps you basically don't have a power but I doubt you'll ever be boosted more than 5% most of the time so it's fine.
-
Bold of you to assume they were ever arguing that in good faith to begin with.
-
I will need to play around with these changes a lot before making a determination but just from reading these are my thoughts...
Haste ability - I feel on average you'll have 5% haste, this is decent but it's hard to tell how much of a difference this will make in chase but I'll say it's a W.
Basekit Ultrasonic Trap Speaker - Breaking the trap after a single pallet vault is very meh but from my testing playing without that add-on felt bad so it was practically basekit anyway so it frees up an add-on spot so overall I'm okay with it.
Drones only coming back after a trap deactivate- Kinda worried about this but overall should be manageable I had a glitch yesterday where I only had 3 drones and I still 4k'd so I think the strategy is to only put 3 down and only have 1 for chases or replace the one that guards drones. Obviously a nerf but one that can be worked around so doesn't bother me.
Traps no longer able to be recharged is meh but maybe with gives a reason to actually use the supercharge add-on but going back to drones being unhackable if you have a claw trap is fine as compensation and I think this overall improves her 4v1.
Adaptive Lightning got the change I basically asked for so that's a W for sure. Expired Battery changes make sense and as far as ultrasonic trap speaker now uuhhhhhh maybe it can help with mindgamesin loops and ambushes but not really sure.
Overall I actually see this as a buff as the only thing that got nerfed was 3 genning but if you played for chases all this is only improvements to what degree though is unclear this could only be a small overall buff or it could make her actually strong in chase hard to say.
-
Although I really like SM I get what you mean. That being said there's def been long periods without popular killers before. Twins and Trickster came out back to back and going strictly by playrate we had pinhead, artist, sadako, dredge which is 4 killers in a row with low playrates.
-
Not everyone plays her that way through at least not on purpose a lot of times survivors will 3 gen themselves anyway and then blame the SM player anyway even if they're going for chases. I've even been accused of camping both exit gates on opposite sides of the map before lmao.
But generally speaking I enjoy her gameplay loop of setup drones track someone with a trap then hook then go track the next person as it always keeps me engaged and saves me from having to do the boring job of looking for immersed survivors. Which you wouldn't think would be often but distortion is pretty popular these days. I also enjoy having better map presence and knowing I'm not gonna immediately lose 3 gens at the start of the game cuz survivors are mostly still too scared to go in drone areas.
-
How long would it take to spend all that? My guess is 3 hours.
-
NGL it kinda confused me when I first realized it but I guess they wanted to simplify it.
-
Leave it to BHVR to not properly announce their event lmao. So there's a meet your maker crossover happening rn I'm not sure if was supposed to be 11am or 12pm EST but yeah that's a thing now.
-
CoH will likely get nerfed I could see Brine getting nerfed idk if it needs to be but it might get nerfed anyway. Overcharge definitely can stay the way it is it's not that bad.
Really more interested in potential buffs because without those the meta will just be a weaker version of what it already is.
-
The short answer is it's okay.
The longer answer is if you use it in a build with ultrasonic trap speaker and dissolution blood favor further hammers home the idea of making pallets a nonissue. That being that it's pretty mid compared to most perks you can use on her, it's okay on that one build but ultimately not something you're gonna be putting in all your build it's def not a top perk for her it's just a decent perk in one specific build.
-
It changes around a lot but currently it's adrenaline/hope/resilience/x. The 4th perk has changed around a lot so far it's been parental guidance, distortion, and a few exhaustion perks but nothing has really felt great so far so still testing a lot of things for that last slot. But yeah speeding up the last gen to get that massive power spike end game is always really hype and been enjoying the build a lot so far.
-
I don't mind Gas Haven getting a rework it's on the list of maps that need one I just dunno how I feel about it while BHVR memes about how bad they know cowshed is and giving up an opportunity to shrink red forest while they were giving it a visual overhaul. I mean it's obviously a good thing if true just their priorities seem a bit odd to me.

You expected me to answer your weird questions over a simple statement and got defensive that I don't owe you an answer. Also if you want a conversation, don't intentionally disregard the statement I made then put words in my mouth and get hot and bothered that I'm not going to respond to you syurpy sweet
What did I disregard? Also all I did originally was pose a question and you're first response was literally "don't be obtuse" straightaway so when the default response is to go straight to being passive aggressive that doesn't really seem like a good sign. But it's whatever it's not my job to be your parent and I'm done with this conversation now, I'm just saying defaulting to that kind of response is rarely going to lead to productive conversation.
-
@AverageKateMain said:
Isn't it a bit hypocritical for you cry passive aggression and malding when you were practically demanding I owe you answers to a question like your my legal guardian? Also I do know how to hold a conversation. I will not hold one with a random person online that's twisting my words intentionally and demanding I argue with them while strawmanning me. Calm the entitlement and audacity and then I'll converse with you
Because you're idea of a conversation to you just seems to be say whatever you want and if the person suggests it might be wrong you just ignore it and deflect and decide to be passive aggressive instead. It's not entitlement to expect an answer to a question that's literally just how communication works lmao.

Bro just stop already. I said a basic statement about the act of kill switching not being deletion. I'm going to assume you're desperate for my attention cause there's not way a sane person cares this much over a basic statement that's not even harmful
All I did was point out that people were not suggesting a simple killswitch and it was more involved than that and you started malding and being passive aggressive. I tried explaining it and you called it a strawman to deflect anything I was actually saying, I don't think you know how to have a conversation but that's okay cuz you're right in that there's no point in continuing.

That's not my point at all. You're still strawman arguing me and putting words in my mouth. I said kill switch isn't the same as deletion entirely. Plain and simple. Stop trying so hard to overanalyze a basic sentences, getting it wrong, and trying to argue over nothing.
But it's not just a killswitch that people are suggesting? I have to assume you're just actively choosing to not to understand that at this point cuz it's not that hard.

Right I understand that but my only 1 point is a kill switch isn't the same as a whole deletion. That's it.
Okay but I'm saying that your premise suggest killers are just skins for whatever power you wanna plug into them and that killer identity doesn't matter and people only play SM for her design and not her power and that people who do play her will just go with whatever power they give her like we're bots.

I'm not addressing a strawman based on the argument on someone actively ignoring the simple statement I made then had the entitlement and audacity to think I have to answer your questions.
Delusional honestly
My question to you hinges on your statement so how am I ignoring it? If you wanna say you don't have an answer just say that it's fine tbh.

My analogy does makes sense because it's not even an analogy. You are strawman arguing and still are. I said a kill switch ain't the same as deletion. Plain and simple. You're choosing to find fault and argue against me for no reason trying to fault my logic that you intentionally keep ignoring just to complain. I will say it 1 last time and I'll slow it down for you like a child so you can finally get it.
The big red triangle at the bottom over the killer icon means you can't play the killer. They aren't deleted, just can't be used in matches. It's not the same thing as an actual deletion like how Steve and Nancy can't be bought in shops at all.
Literally stop trying to whine so hard over an analogy that's not an analogy
Would be cool if you actually addressed a single point I actually made. You're literally ignoring them and going "nope I'm right I don't have to read anything you write and address it when I can just say it's a strawman instead".
Actually unreal lmao.

Can you not strawman argue me and try to demand me to answer your line of questioning? I will say this 1 more time. The act of kill switching as in the character is available to purchase but not play is NOT the same thing as a complete removal like the license. That's it. I'm not talking about glitches or whatever. I said the act of kill switching isn't the same as complete removal.
Do you finally get it or do I have to slow it down further for you? 😒
It's not a strawman it's literally not the same thing and you're actively choosing to ignore the one very important difference between dredge currently being killswitched and what some people are suggesting for SM. To put it another way so maybe you actually understand let's say dredge comes back and now they don't teleport to lockers they don't cause darkness and don't have a remnant.
Now they put Dredge is back in the game and they can instead put shadows on the ground and survivors scream when they step on them and become oblivious. Do you think all the people that like dredge and put work into learning dredge would be happy with that? That the original power they liked is just deleted and it's some new power they may or may not like. Do you think any of the people would consider dredge to be the same character they originally really liked?
Do you understand why your analogy makes zero sense now?

Omg you guys stay being obtuse on purpose. A kill switch for a duration isn't the same thing as complete removal. It's not hard to use critical thinking when I'm referring to Dredge being kill switched as whole.
I think you're the one being obtuse. Explain to me how "killer is glitched and will come back when it's fixed" = "people want this killer killswitched and when they come back it will be with a completely different power and identity".
How are those two things remotely the same?
-
@AverageKateMain said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3369843#Comment_3369843
Don't be obtuse. There's a difference between having the killer in game but under a rework phase than deletion entirely. You're comparing the situation of Dredge being kill switched to something like the Stranger Things license removal
Except nobody is suggesting dredge should come back with an entirely different power? That's not even close to the same thing.

Uh I never said I wanted her to be removed neither the person you commented to said to remove her completely. They said kill switched and rework the killer entirely.
Although you have a point with the weird people doing the absolute most because they don't like um insert whatever.
That's literally the same thing?
-
If this works the way I think it does does that mean they obliterated doctor? Cuz that's hilarious if true.
-
I wish I knew where all these 3 genning SM's and Knights are because I wanna see if it's as bad as everyone says it is. I've only faced a few of either killer this week and the worst thing anything of them did was a SM that camped basement.

SM is not a good killer because her addons or perks from other killers address her fundamental problems, I do not understand why you're trying to delude yourself into thinking that she is, Wraith needed addons to be even useable until only a few patches ago, that didn't make him good back then, same goes for SM now
SM is a pure 115% killer, just because she can walk does not mean she is good at capitalising on the info her drones give her, that is the equivalent of saying Trapper is good at capitalising on people getting caught in traps on the other side of the map because he's 115, news flash, he isn't, only in this case SM is worse then Trapper because Trapper's traps injure survivors, SM's claw traps do basically ######### all to survivors
Stop trying to defend SM with "oh her addons are good" or "oh she's good in chase you're just not doing it right", She isn't good in chase, she isn't good because her addons are decent, she is garbage and good for nothing but stalling out matches until the survivors DC or the server forces the game to end, This is not a opinion, this is a fact
Why you feel the need to defend a killer as lame, uninspired, and just plain bad as SM is frankly beyond me, but trying to tell me she's good because her addons are decent is not a argument, stop using it
This is the equivalent of sticking your head in the sand and going "lalala I can't hear you" so it obviously doesn't matter what I or anyone who is putting work in developing the killer's tech and are performing extremely well while not trying to 3 gen says. You very obviously just want to blindly hate the killer and say they're bad no matter what so this discussion serves no purpose.
All I'll say is add-ons are very much a part of the killer. Everyone was fine calling Billy one of the best killers in the game but then they took crack Billy away and everyone calls him ruined now. People like to blame overheat but let's be honest overheat doesn't do that much it just turned out a large part of Billy's power was in his add-ons. So saying add-ons can't make a killer good is just ignorant.

Wait…is it a viable strat to drop a SM drone in the shack basement then?
Hypothetically that would work but I'm not sure it would be worth the time investment as they'd probably just leave the loop immediately after you activate the drone. If shack had basement and a gen then yeah I could see it being worth it.

You are aware that being a pure information killer means exactly jack diddly when you have no way of capitalising on that info, right?
SM can't do a ######### thing with the info her drones give her because, in chase, she is a pure 115 killer, with nothing to shorten chases, shut down loops, or even break pallets faster, you take chases as SM and even if you waste her drones on shutting down loops, you have to deal with windows and pallets, with no way of counteracting or making that entire process easier
Knight a chapter previously could use Carnifex to break pallets instantly, chase a survivor down from multiple angles using Assassin, Or force the survivors very far away using Jailor depending on what guard was placeable at that moment, SM can't do any of that, her drones, in chase, are exclusively "go away from this loop" tools, waste all four drones on this and you are left with drones in less then amazing spots, and if survivors realise that, they'll just leave them there and go do gens
But please, do tell me that SM is actually fun or even good in chase, and that her power isn't a steaming pile of uninspired dogshit, I'll wait
No way of capitalizing on it is the biggest meme I swear SM haters arn't aware she has legs lmao. Okay so I'm gonna explain this best I can so you're able to understand. When a survivor is exposed the time is 60 seconds so you have 60 seconds to go to the survivor and get them in an active drone area again. When you do that the timer resets completely so at that point it might as well be infinite so you capitalize of it by making everyone one shot.
Now I'm pretty sure you have no idea what any of her add-ons do because I already addressed the chases part. So that ultrasonic trap speaker I mentioned before what that does is if they have a claw trap on them and vault the pallet it breaks the pallet meaning if you know how to loop at all pallets are just a nonissue for SM. Alternatively you can go randomized strobes and make your drones clown bottles or geographical readout and give yourself 4 stacks of fire up with a 2% haste bonus. Lastly you can do advanced movement prediction which is just I'm all ears without a cooldown some people really like it I personally find it redundant since you can just track them through the radar but it is pretty nice. So you have plenty of chase tools it's just a matter of which ones you prefer tbh.
-
Because a lot of them are on their anime villain origin arc. They lose a bunch then they're like "this isn't even my final form" put on the flashlight with the oak offering with boil over and dead hard thinking they just put on ez mode and then when it doesn't work they freak out realizing they're actually just not very good and nothing is gonna carry them and flame the killer cuz yay deflection.
-
"you can complain about any killer as long as it's not one I play"
nice lmao.

@DragonMasterDarren said:
If the devs wanted to make SM a trap based killer, they forgot to make the "traps" do anything of actual use
Trapper's injure and immobilize survivors for a while, Hags scare the ######### out of people and let her teleport across the map
SM's Drones are basically useless against healthy survivors and literally useless against injured survivors
Not only that, but Trapper and Hag's traps have the benefit of being pretty hard to spot, SM's drones can be seen from across the map by a one-eyed infant with cataracts and glaucoma, meaning that any possible stealth benefits go out the bloody window
She is not a trap-based killer, she is a 3-gen based killer, end of story
I wouldn't say she's a 3 gen based killer it's just the first thing everyone figured out you could do with her but I don't think that's what the devs intended at least not entirely. She's an info killer first and a trap killer second it's just the trap is not what everyone thinks it is, it's not the drone it's the claw trap.
The drones are just bait after a survivor disarms it the idea is to track them with the claw trap on and then trap them at a loop and then set down a drone and get them exposed. The reason the claw trap is important is because of the brown ultrasonic trap speaker add-on so you track them lock on and then when they vault the pallet you just hit them through it. Then after you hook you track the next person with a trap and the loop begins again.
The other reason she's not a 3 gen killer is you can go to the gens survivors are actively working on and put the the drones on them and contest from the moment the game starts. This encourages them to disarm the drones and start the chase loop and I think the devs intended players to actively move the drone network around according to where survivors were at the time. What actually happened was the flew over everyone's head and they defaulted to what they already knew which was 3 genning and it turned out being a bit too good on some maps.

There is no skill involved in walking from gen to gen, resetting drones, kicking gens and occasionaly hitting a survivor without ever committing to a chase. Someone that just installed DBD could do that, if I told them to. It really is that simple.
Game sense is something you use on Pinhead and Doctor for example. Doctor can use his Static Blast to manage Madness and Pinhead can find the box again and again. That is not necessary when kicking gens and resetting drones like a bot.
SM has an insta down. So ignoring the drones, getting exposed, alarming the killer via killer instinct and going down in 1 hit is not exactly an option. Skull Merchant is not a strong killer. She is just poorly designed. Nerfing her would not help with this problem at all. Which is why I don't want her nerfed. I want her reworked. Completely.
She is not as complex as you give her credit for. It all comes down to 3-gen breaking with an extra delay via drones. That is the problem. If I wanted to I could easily drag the game out to be 40 minutes with her. I could lose but I can guarantee that no one will have fun in that game. That's why SM is poorly designed. It is always unfun to play against her because she combines everything nobody likes as a survivor. Zoning, area control, game delay and no actual chase. Apart from many people hating to play her as well for pretty much the same reasons.
I was talking about game sense from the survivors side against the killer but SM needs game sense as well, you're assuming every SM playing 3 gens and those of us who are legit trying to learn the killer and push their limits generally don't. I have for a few games just to see what everyone is talking about and on certain maps I will admit it's kinda stupid but I see that as a problem with those maps and on other maps like ormond and ironworks it felt like a complete waste of time trying to 3 gen and the drones were only a mild annoyance to the survivors. I think what BHVR has done and turned certain formally fair maps like dead dawg and silent hill into the equivalent of red forest and garden for survivors and that's not at all good for the game and I think overall map size should be standardized with no small or large maps.
When I see a lot of streamers actively get multiple things wrong about how SM's power works I disagree that she's not complex. Seriously it's painful watching a lot of the big names play SM because it's obvious they don't know how she works and they're not that interested in learning. I think her mechanics are simple sure and I understand that's all most people care about but I think there's a ton involved in understanding the rules of her drones and how the radar works and how to take advantage of that including when to space drones out when to cluster them so you're taking control of the most important space at a given time. How to interpret the radar and when to act on that information and keeping people's traps on their arm to get them exposed because most people don't understand they get locked on faster with a trap on and how all that interacts with add-ons and perks to take an advantage of what what she can do. There's so many weird little obscure things about how she works with the drones, radar, and traps that anyone who says they fully understand her right now is liar to be perfectly honest.

You’re placing too many stipulations on random people (solo queue) to combat an unfair, unfun inherent design (3-Gen). “A good team” requires coordination that solo players don’t intrinsically have. Personally I think it’s refreshing to have killers who specialize not in anti-loop but Gen defense. But I’ve also played a 46 minute match against a Skull Merchant on Garden of Joy who got a 2K (nearly a 3K) from her 3-gen strategy. And disabling the drones wasn’t really enough to prevent that because she becomes stealthy while in the drone’s radius or when they’re disabled or whatever the add-on did. And she’s pretty fast.
How is this different than cenobite or plague though? Both of those killers also require a lot of coordination to beat as well, if nobody does box or the ceno makes the box their priority and nobody contests that nobody will be able to gens and that can happen at 5 gens. If a team isn't on the same page about cleansing plague will just run over a team with access to red vom and if nobody cleanses everyone is playing broken which isn't much different than ignoring the drones. I haven't seen anything that convinces me SM is egregiously worse than either of those killers.

If SM wasn't the problem we'd have seen way more complaints about 3-gens before she got released. Only that wasn't case. You had the occasional discussion about Knight an his 3-gen ability but that was it. The complaints about Skull Merchant won't die down just like that. Even when her gens are spread halfway across the map she will still be able to defend them easily. That's how her power works. There is no such thing as skill in this particular playstyle.
You can make all the arguments about skill issues you want. The truth is that holding M1 on a gen takes as much skill as setting drones on gens and kicking them once they have a tiny bit of progress. Which is none at all. There is no skill involved here. It's just patience and coordination. Coordination that solos can never have.
I can make an example of why 3-gens aren't that big of an issue in theory. Just bring 4 toolboxes with BNPs and use them on the last gen. Easy. You see the problem here? That will never happen. SM's 3-gen strength is that ridiculous. You won't win every match but you can make every match miserable, if you set your mind to it. And if you don't SM is a killer with pretty much no power at all.
I agree that some gen spawns are absolutely stupid. But that doesn't mean that every map should be Mother's Dwelling. You need to consider what happens with other killers as well, if you move gens further apart. And for Skull Merchant to be unable to drag out games this long that needs to be a huge distance.
Except everyone did complain about knight a ton especially after Hens released the 1 hour knight game he played on dead dawg. Not to mention all the eruption complaints really boiled down to making 3 gens too strong so I disagree nobody was talking about this before SM. Also you're doing the same fallacy a see a bunch of people do which is assuming mechanical skill is the only type of skill when it's not, game sense and decision making is also a skill and the average DBD player has the game sense of a potato. A lot of videos I'm seeing of people playing against me and other people playing SM boils down to bad decision making whether that's not committing to a gen that was nearly done or respecting the drones too much. Now some of this is match knowledge against SM that nobody has really cuz she just came out and the strategies against her haven't really formed yet and I don't blame anyone for that because those things take time. What does annoy me is when people go straight to "too strong please nerf" instead of actually trying to learn and test things and seeing if it can be beat before doing that. My experience so far is that SM is relatively balanced people just don't wanna actually take the time to learn so I roll my eyes at people complaining when it's very obvious they don't fully understand the killer.
-
Did you pip though? I thought they decoupled that screen from pips and emblems so as far as I know it's completely pointless aside from adept achievements.

So your suggestion is to keep her this way for the sake of the 10 people that like her and ruin the games of everyone who has to face her? This killer is objectively unhealthy for the game. She needs a rework.
It's a map/perk + skill issue though? Like I consistently see people mention the same maps over and over when talking about SM doing a 3 gen. It seems like people are purposefully bringing themselves to those maps as SM because they know it's much less viable if you get a larger map like Torment Creek or Ironworks. Factor in the fact that the meta is 3 gen based anyway and people were literally already complaining about it before SM ever came out and this is very obviously not an issue exclusive to SM she's just the community's favorite punching bag atm.
People also have zero clue how to play against her as well which is a skill issue. If everyone disarms the drones as soon as she leaves an area she literally cannot keep up her zone and the 3 gen gets broken. This probably is harder on smaller maps but again that's a problem with the map, trying to 3 gen as SM is fairly weak on any average to large sized map against a good team.
-
My team is either potatoes that never go for box or they actually know how to play against them and the game usually isn't too hard so I guess that averages to 3 gens.
-
Is this an out of season April fools joke? I think she's much much better than most people giver her credit for and put her in B tier but calling her OP is a complete joke.
-
The more I play SM the more I am convinced this is a map issue. I was rather fortunate and got to play against two SWFs in a row on Ormond back to back and I wasn't meaning to but I learned something very interesting.
First game I tried to 3 gen and there really wasn't one but I did main next to main on shack side and then there was a gen right outside shack so close enough to being a 3 gen. This team was extremely coordinated they would disarm the drones as soon as I left and get on the gens so it was nearly impossible for me to have drones up on all of them and spending all my time kicking gens and putting up drones felt incredibly useless. It took a little while but they got the gen done and all got out because they all did a different gen and all did drones the moment they could and no shot I could keep up. Is this because they were a little farther away than on a map like RPD? That may have played into it a bit for sure but the coordination also was just so good I feel like they still get out on a smaller map.
The game after I get another SWF on Ormond and play for chases straight away and it goes very well and I 4k fairly easily even with them trying to coordinate. I took away from this two things.
1. You can absolutely beat SM with good coordination and doing the drones as soon as she leaves an area.
2. Map size plays a big role in why 3 gens are hard to beat.
So honestly I think SM is completely fine I think certain maps like RPD need to be reworked and people need more time to learn how to play against merchant because on any decent sized map I think the 3 gen strat is beaten fairly easily with the right strategy.
-
Just got out of a game where I 2 gen'd on garden of joy with SM. No that is not a typo I really meant to write 2 and not 3, I put one in the house and one on a gen in front of the house and the survivors became completely fixated on both those gens when they had every opportunity to work on the 3rd or even the 4th gen left on the map since there was two gens left and neither were that close to the house.
Like certain maps I will admit play themselves but when survivors can't even get garden of joy right when I wasn't even doing a proper 3 gen I'm tempted to believe this is mostly a skill issue in most scenarios and map issue for the others. I really wanna see a SM try a 3 gen strat in comp and see if the survivors can break it because I think that would be really telling on if it's actually an issue or not

Yeah it's not my favorite but I'm so focused when I play I just tune it out but honestly this is something I'm all for people complaining about since I'd be happy to get something a bit better.
I get what they were going for with the two layers one invoking the sounds of radar with a tribal hunter drum type beat underneath but the radar bit is just kinda annoying. If they take that out and make the drums a bit longer before it loops that would be so much better.

You've expressed an illegal positive opinion about SM, you're gonna have have to give your address so your copy of DBD can be turned in.
More seriously though yeah she's great fun and I think she has more build diversity than most killers due to her add-ons. I would agree she's pretty close to doctor in terms of being an information based killer with some situational antiloop in her add-ons. Her mori is pretty simple yeah but they did improve it from PTB so it's okayish now. If it were me I would have had it been a quick dramatic slash with the silhouette of blood spurting out of the survivor and made it look like a manga panel but maybe that would have been too much work idk.

As a survivor? 40 minute game against a demo with full gen kick build on RPD. We 3 gen'd and they put portals on all of them and we just couldn't break it we tried getting rid of portals ignoring portals nothing worked and they 4k'd.

We went from nerf B tier killers to buff A tier killers on this forum and I wouldn't expect anything else tbh.

I don't disagree that it's worse than a lot of other killer's ability to 3 gen and her being "OP" at it is being way overblown although I think the frustrating part to a lot of people is the fact that she's good at defense without being able to close the deal quickly, you really have to pick your spots when you're going to commit to a chase if you're doing a 3 gen build because you have much fewer tools in chase meaning she can often win if she plans correctly it's just that it takes a lot longer compared to say cannibal where if you mess up you're down instantly and that's that where as SM it's much more death by 1,000 cuts and think that's what is frustrating people.

Thing that will kill the game #5918
I'm sure it'll be correct this time.

I'm still not sure exactly how Skull Merchant's kit makes her better than the average killer at holding a 3-gen. Her kit does three things, right, and two of them are almost useless in 3-gen scenarios because you already know where survivors are and they already know where you are in a broad sense because... it's a 3-gen, it's a tight area you can easily control by walking around it, that's the entire definition of what a 3-gen is.
That leaves the third part, her exposed, and that's just straight weaker for 3-gen scenarios than something like an infinite Tier 3 Myers or a Pinky Finger Clown or just a straight up basekit Leatherface. What about her can you nerf to make her not as good at 3-gen scenarios, considering it really seems like it's just normal 3-gen tactics being applied through her?
There may be something I'm missing about this that explains why she is the problem and not just, regular 3-gen builds that any killer can do and most can do better than her, but it doesn't seem that way from where I'm sitting. If the way her games are going is a problem, then the cause - things like CoB, for example - should probably be looked at before she is.
"I already hate the killer because it's popular to do because a bunch of people jebaited themselves into thinking the killer was going to be something it wasn't and this gives me more of a reason to hate them and blaming the killer means I don't have to put effort into learning how to play against them"
Nobody will admit it but this is the answer.

But do you think that maybe indirectly buffed the 3 gen playstyle more than actual chases?
I remember seeing a post from about the nerf she got about trapped survivors being able to disarm her drones. I already felt like that change was necessary, and now i absolutely know that the change was necessary, she would be even more of a 3 gen queen if they didn't remove that interaction
I don't think so because replacing the drone takes the same amount of time it does now. Decoupling placing a drone from the cooldown didn't effect that much. What it did effect is how easy it is to keep your drones in active mode since it doesn't share a cooldown but that buffs her stealth not her ability to lock down an area.
I would say the biggest buff to her 3 gen camping was instant exposed on failed drone hacks because when you play that style that's what you're looking for making someone panic on that minigame so you can get a quick down. The thing is that's a problem that will fix itself as survivors learn killer because all you have to do is keep doing the minigame and not let go if you're hit while doing the minigame you don't become exposed until after you get injured. So as long as you don't panic you'll be okay.
