  • The mobility is really nice, you barely feel the size of maps like mother's dwelling and garden. The tail strike was a little confusing at first but once you see the hit box I rarely miss now and it feels pretty good.

For those that don't know the hit box slopes downward even though the tail looks like it goes straight horizontal so you wanna aim a little bit high to avoid hitting vaults and debris.

I'd say Xeno is top of B tier, there's potential for A tier but the power is so simple I don't really see any crazy techs being developed it's pretty what you see is what you get.

    Can't wait to p100 them.

  • If they don't reach Demo status I'd be shocked.

  • I sure can't wait to play as Xenomorph in TCM.

    Wait....

  • I don't know why but the idea that someone would need WoO to find pallets on The Game is hilarious to me. That's probably the map with the most fixed pallet locations and funnier still is that's not even that bad of a map for killer.

As a side note pallets aren't a big deal in all honesty. At this stage of my time with DBD I'm convinced vaults determine how painful a map is but that might be a different conversation.

  • I'm happy to give tips but first pick a side because honestly trying to learn both sides at the same time is not a good idea IMO.

  • You can not let knight manually cycle guards because then Jailor basically doesn't exist because they're objectively worse than the other two guards at anything useful and arguably you just spam assassin nonstop and then that's literally just a second killer in the game controlled by an AI, it's not a good idea.

Ideally Jailor needs to be reworked and map of the realm needs to be basekit and then knight needs a full add-on pass because I agree the greens are absolute garbage.

  • They won't be as there's not a corresponding event associated with them like for Lunar New Year, Halloween, Christmas.

  • Leon has head empty himbo energy.

Rebecca is that teammate that really does wanna help but it just goes catastrophic somehow every single time.

I don't really get annoyed by either at least not on the level Meg, Mikaela, Nea often do. I guess I'd say Leon cuz Rebecca's always seem to be really nice from my experience even when they mess up.

item+2 perk slots. At least this suggestion illustrates the gravity of medkit nerf

Considering healing yourself fast is the strongest thing you can do to destroy killer pressure I think it's warranted.

  • Built to Last + Streetwise with a juiced medkit is honestly just as good as old CoH.

  • I've been running Bond/Botany/Distortion/Prove Thyself lately and been loving it.

It's boring in a sense cuz it's just do things faster but I find it largely mitigates the problems of soloQ of no coordination, you kinda have to be willing to babysit the team making sure they're healed up and doing gens with them but as long as your team can loop worth half a damn it's been relatively painless.

You don't have to run distortion but I personally run it to make sure I'm getting value from my other 3 perks but you can sub it out for w/e you want.

DISCLAIMER: I play on Xbox so I haven't gotten to play the Alien yet. My opinions are based on what I've seen from Tru3 and Otz streams.

Tru3 and Otz say they think he's strong. And his runner mode looks fun and powerful.

HOWEVER! it also makes me nervous that like Meatball the survivors are going to be able to easily cancel out your power with easily attainable items. Like it's so oppressive with Meatball that he basically doesn't have a power at all. EMPs ruin Meatball so hard thst you are quite literally stronger if you just don't even bother using his power at all. Because his power just wastes his own time.

Maybe some one who played the PTB can tell me if Alien gets oppressed by the items as hard as Meatball does?

No the turrets are nowhere near as bad as the EMPs. The trade off is Xeno kinda suffers from the problem some killers like Knight and Dredge do where they need a specific add-on to feel good to play. In Xeno's case you need either the e-helmet which I think makes the meter that takes you out of your power build up slower or the star chart which makes the turret range 2 meters less which easily puts the turret in tail range. I know some people are running both but I honestly think that's overkill and you really only need one. But as long as you do bring one of them they're just a minor annoyance that really arn't too bad, they don't actually slow you so you have the choice to try and ignore them and get a hit or destroy the turret and keep your power and continue the chase.

well thats usualy how killer are designed, its part of their base kit powers. sadako, plague, wesker, nemesis only to name a few! and are those killers considered too strong ? theyre not

If they added it it would mostly likely be like Cenobite of Pig.

One of those is a pubstomper and meh versus SWF and the other is D tier and neither one is very popular. That does not sound like a template for success.

how would facehugger transform him into a gen stalling killer ? im not saying theyre fair or unfair the turret, i just think its extermely awfull to have to deal with that. Killers shouldnt have a secondary objective to deal with we already have enough.

I mean how would you incorporate Facehuggers? Because to me it sounds like a side objective for survivors to get rid of.

  • Acidic Blood-This is an add-on so it is in the game

Facehuggers-This would have made Xeno another gen stall killer which nobody wanted

Wall Climbing-A dev confirmed this was considered but the game wouldn't really have been able to handle it from a technical standpoint and it wouldn't work on certain maps.

Beyond that considering the chapter is based on the first movie there really wasn't much more they could do like Xeno doesn't actually do a lot in that movie. The only thing they really left out was cocooning people and had their own type of hooking system but would anyone have really been excited over that?

So outside of wall climbing BHVR actually hit the notes they needed to. A pounce would be cool but that's basically what demo has and people already compare Xeno and Demo too much. On the topic of the turrets all you need is one of the yellow add-ons that nerf them (start chart or e-helmet) and they're basically a joke so as far as built in counterplay killers go Xeno probably has the weakest one out of all of them. Most cases turrets buy survivors 3 seconds of distance and that's it which is probably fair for having the best map traversal in the game.

  • What "great suggestions" are you referring to? There's like three of us on here that talk about Skull Merchant changes in good faith and then 99% of the forum goes "delete Skull Merchant" over and over so I'm not really sure what you're referring to.

At this point I'm very much convinced except for those of us that play her nobody actually understands how her kit works or everything that's in it. She absolutely needs changes but this isn't a topic the community has anything constructive to say from what I've seen.

  • Camping-I will only ever camp if I've been away from a hook and nobody got the person for like 45-50 seconds. Then I'll go back and secure the extra health state if I'm not doing anything else and that's the survivors fault for greeding the timer in that scenario I'm just punishing the mistake.

Tunneling-Generally not something I do unless I'm far behind and need to catch up.

Bleeding-I'm not sure what this means?

Slugging-Yeah sometimes this is needed to create pressure or if it's a team of rats with flashlights.

Would I do any of this at 4-5 gens? Only camping and slugging and only if the conditions I mentioned are met which is not often that early in the game so yeah it's rare. I think if anything I'm more likely to do it as Cenobite if anything because sometimes you get the box early you just snowball hard early game and I can get carried away keeping the box under my control so I do think I find myself slugging more often early game as Cenobite compared to anyone else.

  • The endurance needs to go away and I'm torn on the haste stacking but it might ultimately be healthier long term if haste doesn't stack and just goes with the highest value.

I do think the idea of a notification is overkill and unnecessary. If you just expect it on everyone like I do you can never be surprised by it.

  • If you watch the video he actually says the 3% speed boost is fine so uuhhh...don't think it's what you think it is.

  • EMPs need to be toned down still but to be perfectly honest the flamethrowers are honestly kinda pathetic.

If you have at least one add-on that tones them down all they do is buy time for survivors to run away, they very rarely will actually take you out of your power.

Lmao xeno isn't hard at all. You point and click, that's all you do. These posts are freaking hilarious when people like to talk up killers as if they need some freaking degree to master. Xeno has to be one of the most easiest killers to play. Wesker is one of my mains, and I also played the PTB. Xeno is way easier to play then wesker.

I never said Xeno was hard to play just harder than Wesker but tbf everyone is harder to play than Wesker.

The moderate difficulty they gave Xeno is probably correct but but the hitbox is a bit jank so learning where it is takes a minute and is far more punishing when you miss compared to Wesker's which is very forgiving. My main point was Xeno isn't gonna be as common because it's easier to 4k as Wesker which is true.

  • Can't tell from just the emblems but it seemed like a short game and people killed themselves on hook maybe?

  • Yeah I play on PC on a controller, they're mostly fine as to be perfectly honest I'm not convinced a lot of the things that feel bad about playing Xeno on controller are controller specific things like the camera locking once you do the tail attack. I definitely don't see controller as a barrier to entry to playing Xeno.

  • I disagree with Trapper, Freddy and Wraith being the hardest to master. Part of your argument seems to stem from certain killers are easy to cheese with and therefore 4King with them is less challenging simply because you can abuse certain strats fairly easily. A lot of Trapper 4Ks comes from Trappers just bringing Agitation/Iron Grasp and just playing basement Trapper and setting 40,000 traps around Shack and it's extremely hard to not at least 2k doing that unless you mess up horribly.

As for Freddy and Wraith they just don't have enough mechanical depth to be considered hard to master, once you figure out how to body block pallets as Wraith you've pretty much figured out the most complicated trick he has. Can getting a 4k as Wraith or Freddy be challenging? Yes quite challenging but this is where I disagree with your premise in general I think. Hard to 4k =/= Hard to master mechanically. What you're saying basically boils down to "Playing m1 killer with no power is hard" which like yes that's correct but that's not a skill specific to Trapper and Wraith that's just mastering the killer role in general.

Like Artist for example is much too low and one I would put at or near the top. Can you just put bird at loop and win that way? Probably yeah but her actual potential of being able to judge where a survivor is gonna be after you bird them from long range and hitting that snipe takes a lot of practice as does setting up multiple birds for staggered hits to get health states from across the map and that's what mastering a killer is IMO.

  • No because Xeno isn't as easy mode as Wesker in terms of the skill floor, you actually need to take a bit of time to learn them and then even when you do they're not as strong as Wesker.

I do think Xeno will be massively popular on release and they'll probably retain a following even after the hype dies down but they'll be like other big movie killers like Myers and Ghost Face where they're somewhat common but definitely not on the level of Wesker, Blight, Huntress.

On the topic of Xeno on controller they're most fine honestly definitely not on the level of Oni or Billy or even Huntress. Basically if you can play Executioner or Nemesis on controller then you should be able to handle Xeno. Although you are as short as Hag and that probably will put some people off on it's own.

  • Am I the only one that finds it ironic that everyone is like "MMR bad get rid of it" and then when we get games that show what games would commonly be like if they did scrap it we get topics like this? I know I'm exaggerating when I say everyone but I just mean it as it's a sentiment I see a lot.

  • Best: Yui, I've never seen a bad Yui player in 3k hours of playing.

Worst: Cheryl, they're not the worst skillwise (they're somewhere in the middle) but I swear almost all of them are toxic af idk what's up with cheryl that she attracts the userbase she does.

  • Trapper is truly a menace to society.

  • So do people not like interacting with the killer or what's up?

  • People saying Xeno has the same power as Demo arn't paying attention tbh, Xeno's map traversal is much MUCH better.

  • Walter as the survivor and David as the killer would actually be the funniest ######### ever.

MFT is meta but what are the other 2 new survivor perks that are meta? I’m assuming by meta you mean they’re commonly used.

    Dramaturgy and Plot Twist.

  • TFW you enjoy Knight and Skull Merchant and are less miserable than 99% of the community.

    FeelsGoodMan

  • I mean I guess we can pretend 3 of the last 6 survivor perks aren't meta perks or that the rest of the survivor meta perks aren't from 2016-2017. You somehow managed to be wrong on both ends which is impressive.

  • I don't like playing against Wesker can we killswitch Wesker too?

My complaint is the community's overall mindset that getting kills should be prioritized above all else. Yall focusing on one portion of what I said. It's the community mindset I have an issue with

It is literally the objective of the killer, I don't think that's a weird thing to prioritize.

  • @RakimSockem said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3507749#Comment_3507749

What I said was pretty self explanatory. The chase should be the fun and focus of the game, not "how many kills can I get and what's the easiest and most boring way I can possibly get them"

What happens, happens means we need to stop worry about "win/lose". That's why this game is becoming so boring and sweaty.

So your main complaint is killers trying to kill is that correct?

  • I'm ready for the killer to be David tbh that would be the greatest troll ever done anywhere ever.

  • I've always believed she was Scottish. Not only because of the surname but also because due to the fact that wicca which she basically is originated in the British Islands.

  • This was always going to be the outcome. Both sides cannot win and chill at the same time. Add to that the constant BM by both sides and that creates a natural deterrent to trying to play nice for most people so you then create an arms race for both sides to optimize their play as much as possible.

It has gotten to the point I am playing against SWFs using clock callouts and comp strats more and more often. Now this is perfectly okay with me as I'm competitive by nature and enjoy outsmarting good teams but for your average DBD player who only plays 2-3 games a day if that is even I imagine they feel they're in a war zone with a water gun.

Ultimately I don't see this as a problem as I feel if you really wanna chill then there's plenty of really really good PvE games for those people to play. I'm not saying that to be disrespectful mind you, some of my favorite games are PvE (Metroid Prime, Okami, Persona 4) so it's a serious suggestion. Because PvP games are always going to be competitive by their nature and that's okay.

  • Does a survivor perk do something remotely useful?

    Better nerf it.

  • @Sharby said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3506773#Comment_3506773

Really? Cause the most common reason I see MFT complained about is that being injured isn't a real condition and that the killer gets punished for getting hits.

I'm curious how you could exempt Resilience from this same argument, considering not only does it help you in chase, it also helps you do gens faster which is something MFT doesn't do.

This is true but it's also a really dumb argument that shouldn't be acknowledged, by this logic deadlock should be nerfed because it rewards killers for letting gens get done but I bet if anyone suggested deadlock be nerfed it would cause several aneurysms.

  • MfT needs the endurance effect removed and FtP needs to not work with buckle up.

Besides those two changes no survivor perks deserved to be nerfed.

  • I saw Shiki on the last survey which got me really excited but to be perfectly honest there's only so many horror anime's that even exist so it was probably only on there for completion's sake but it would definitely fit. I just don't want a third japanese ghost killer two is enough.

  • And?

There are killer players that complain about survivors and there are survivors that complain about killers when either side is perfectly capable of winning a game. It turns out people in general tend to be hypocritical which I don't think is news to most people so I still don't understand the point.

  • It's hard to say for sure but taking it face value the first time you use it each option has a 25% chance of happening then when you get the effect it's taken out of the pool leaving the pool meaning the second time you use it the remaining three options have a 33% chance of happening.

When this happens it also leaves the pool but the result you got the first time goes back into the pool for the third time you use it. All this is to say yes everything has an equal chance of happening but you can never get the same result twice in a row.

  • Is there a point to this?

  • Left 4 Dead had something like this and it wasn't great as you were liable to get kicked for the smallest things. Give people this kinda power and they'll use it just cuz they can.
