A lot of people just hate the double cooldown she has right now.Using addons to try to circumvent those changes isn't really good design plus it didn't do anything to nurse.
Great nurses are still killing teams in seconds. The blink recharge mechanics just makes it more unfun and punishing for average and bad nurse players (which wasn't needed). The core problem the devs tried to adress with this mechanic wasn't solved.
The problem with the overheat mechanic is that it heavily limits your playstyle. It enforces that zoom around the map and backrev playstyle and quite heavily resticts creative playstyles (e.g curving). You get maybe 1 or 2 attempts now before your saw overheats.
Another problem imo are the animation changes.Playing billy now feels quite clunky and not as smooth as he used to be.
The addition of this annoying roar whenever he's sprinting is just the cherry on the top.
Also people don't dislike playing difficult killers.A lot of players actually love using killers like blight or oni for example.
I think it's somewhat good tho that bad nurses are getting punished and can't get carried by addons etc. Sure it can be a bit rough learning nurse first off but that's more than a reasonable trade off for the power she gives you when you learn her. The cooldown helps to stop nurses from just spamming their blinks and in a way actually helps newer nurses because it teaches/forces them to be more patient on the blinks.

With Nurse, I think most of the community was in agreement that many of her add-ons were busted and needed to go. It's moreso the basekit changes that drove people crazy, I think. I definitely agree that she's still 1st or 2nd in terms of strength, but having to constantly keep an eye on the blink recharge, WHILE keeping an eye on the survivors... it gets to be exhausting really quick. And even with both recharge add-ons, you still can't get back to old basekit nurse. It's getting closer, but you still can't bypass the recharge system completely. If you charge the blink a quarter second early, you get punished. It demands so much more focus than old basekit nurse did, so that's why I don't find it fun anymore. I can still do great with her, but it just feels miserable to play. Honestly I find pretty much any other killer to be more fun. I'd play 20 matches with Wraith before I play a single Nurse match anymore
With Billy, a lot of people had already put in the time to learn him and bhvr just straight up removed certain things he could do well for advanced billy players, while pretty much taking nothing away from beginners. If you feather for too long, you'll overheat. You can't pair a charge add-on with an engraving to give you more curving capabilities (the only charge add-on now is garbage since it kicks him down to 110 movement speed). So your options in chase are more limited than before. If you were a billy player that found any of those things fun or rewarding, then their removal is going to make billy feel a lot less fun
Really? Idk the fact that she renders practically any object or defense useless still makes her a top pick for me as i enjoy having the ability to basically free roam the plane. The cooldown as much as it may suck coming from old nurse is definitely justified as well. It helps to stop nurses from just zoning survivors so they can get easy hits/downs and makes them have to use their blinks more precisely rather than just spamming whenether they want.
I do agree that the billy base changes were silly and did make him less fun, but regardless he's still a fun killer I know alot of ppl still enjoy playing, me included. Flick billy was nerfed yes but it's still possible, you don't need charge addons to play flick billy and I can understand why charge addons were removed becaues they were very strong.
-
Audio cues are good as they all for counterplay, however in demo's case they are incredibly done. Why does he have audio cues for EVERYTHING he does and no other killer does?
-
I don't understand people who say they "sapped" the fun outta nurse. What did they sap out of you? Unless you were playing extra blinks or old range addons then they were quite clearly busted and deserved a change. She's still by FAR the strongest killer in the game, if the 6 second max cooldown hurts you that much then run double recharge, which is exactly like playing old nurse.
I do agree that billy shouldnt have been nerfed but once again i don't see how he's "unfun" anymore. Do people just find a killer that's harder unfun becaues they can't be bothered to put in the hours to learn?

Like if you throw a bottle it causes gen regression? I think thats a decent idea too, but would be concerned that it wouldn't provide very much and the trade off of not being able to use gen regressive perks might actually make him worse.
Something like that, I was thinking more like he can shoot a different type of bottle which lasts for much longer say 45-60 seconds which doesn't provide slowdown or visibility restrictions but gives away survivors location, just as an example, maybe a bottle which could do somethign to gens too.
-
I think a little reduction on the amount of grind required would be nice, but they probably shouldn't take it too far, and I doubt they will. If you were to cut 2/3rds of the grind out of the game, it would make alot of players who had p3d characters and gotten all perks feel robbed, as well as disincentivise alot of players from playing. I mean technically, you only need one survivor with all perks and then the killers you are good at and you've practially got almost everything in the game that you'll need at that time.

Gen defense buffs. Some sort of bottles or power which allows him to defend gens better, not antiloop buffs.

1st of all stop stalking me with your survivors too weak killers op troll,
Secondly I kill swf quite often, but it doesn't depend on the killer it depends on the survivor, like many killer perks that are survivor activated, if they ######### up they dead if they don't ######### up they out that's just how it is...
Well yes because survivor's skill SHOULD mean something, you shouldn't be able to negate the highest amotnu of skill from a swf just because you don't like it. You SHOULD have harder games at somepoints because wheres teh fun on 4king everygame and destroying people who aren't so good at the game. You can only get better by vsing better players.

Look at you putting words in my mouth again because I don’t put the top 0.005% of Spirit’s in the data for consideration of Stridor then that only leaves mediocre Spirits, no in between just black and white. You really should think about stuff before you type it out. And well there you go you answered your own question, the top 0.005% can beat the top 0.005% what do you know.
Try using comprehensive skills before you type. I swear some people just argue to argue they don’t realize what they’re saying half the time.
There is no reliable counterplay to a spirit though, even just a decent spirit will annialate you with stridor unless you guess insanely lucky. It's not just the top percent spirits.
If you're having 2 minute + chases with spirits then they quite clealy are not good spirits at all.

And do you even play this game? You realize the only reason people don’t complain about Nurse is because a good Nurse is very rare. THINK ABOUT IT :)
Ur missing two things.
1) Spirit is infinitely easier to get good at, all you need to know is where survivors run and general game knowledge.
2) Even the best of nurses has counterplay, its just very hard to pull off and requires alot of skill. Not even being the best player in the game will save you form a god level spirit.

When did I ever mention bad Spirit players? I swear some people on these forums really need to learn how to read. It’s people like you who interpret things in their own narrative that makes these forums as bad as they are.
Spirit-Stridor can be beaten, you’ve done it, I’ve done it, anyone can do it. People don’t like the challenge that comes with that build though. That’s the reason everyone complains. They can’t loop Spirit like any other M1 killer. Make sense now?
No-one complains because spirit can't be looped, otherwise everyone woudl be complaining about nurse far more.
The fact that you said tournament spirits shouldn't be taken into account because they are an outlier shows that ur idea of balancing killers is around mediocre and bad players. Sorry but GOOD stridor spirits will not be beaten unless there is a 4man coms involved or they mess up terribly.
-
Never have I ever seen a game where people get so upset about being beaten by teams better than them that they claim voice communication is busted...
Without voice communication, people would actually have no idea how the game is played at the highest level, because they would be countless mistakes and misplays.
-
Just ignore them. You will often find that these kind of survivors are those who are actually godawful at the game and get excited when they finally escape a game for once.
-
Are you seriously trying to tell me that you didn't get a 4k in one game against players who were obviously better than you and now the game is unfair?
-
@Klakky said:
Not outdated but they keep nerfing killer and buffing survivors, and not dealing with those issues even ignoring the fact that the killer is the weakest one in the match...(they even added equip no perks fix a gen and escape 8x achievement for survivor... I did it in 9 games.... If that doesn't tell u how broken the game is I dunno what does) honestly if it keeps up it's going to keep losing players, most of my friends quit already :/
Edit: but devs will be devs and will always prefer 4 kids crying how killer is OP rather than seeing the game how it is, a SWF ######### show that is increasingly less fun for killers
Yes they keep nerfing killer and buffing survivor...
Sorry where are you living? Not one weak killer has been released since legion, ruin undying tinkerer and corrupt all didnt exist in their current forms over a year ago, new maps are increasingly full of unsafe loops an ddeadzones.
If you want to balance for easy wins against swf, then you leave solo and casual swf in the dark and make killer incredibly easy. I would rather play against a good swf anyday than play in solo q.

Is the average Spirit player one of them? No, i don’t think so. Good job trying to skew data to the less than 1% though.
So ur saying that because bad and mediocre spirits can make mistakes that spirit is balanced? You don't even have to be a tournament level spirit to dominate with stridor, you just need to know how to play the game. How are you supposed to mindgame someone who can pinpoint ur location through auditory sounds at all times?
-
I actually like the idea of buffing charlotte but nerfing Victor. Currently, all twins players ever do is just constantly bring out Victor with little to no punishment. Get kicked as Victor? doesn't matter he'll just respawn in 6 seconds. If anything that respawn time needs to be increased to 30 seconds or something.

Another survivor main wanting killer nerfs because they refuse to adapt. Try actually using perks to confuse her, i.e. Quick and Quiet, Deception, Diversion, etc.
You can’t run around the same loop and expect the same outcome with every killer.
Have you ever vsed a tournament spirit with spacial sound? i don't think so. Good like trying to confuse one.

Clown can do quite well with the right addons but his basekit is sorely lacking. Reload times are a significant enough hinderance to put him below a mid tier killer. I personally run VHS pr0n and solvent jug to 4ks most of the time. I don't feel he needs a large rework, I really don't want them messing with his good addons, just a few and buff his base kit.
Tattoo's middle finger needs buffed or deranked in rarity to very rare/rare.
Cheap gin to rare
cigar box to moderate effects
sulfuric acid vial should have mangled timer changed to until fully healed
kerosene can to 120 seconds
The rest are okay...I guess. If they speed up the reload time and movement speed then those respective addons should change to something more interesting like oblivious & incapacitated states.
I don't think they should increase reloading time or movement speed. Why? Because then you will get clowns you just spam bottles everywhere and aren't punished. Clown is about strategic placement and throws of his bottles not abou thaving as many bottles and as much slowdown as you can and chucking them straight at survivors.

What's wrong with giving a non-popular killer some new additions? I know they don't address the Plague's weaknesses, but it could make the killer more fun for some ppl. If you would fix all of the Plague's problems, it wouldn't really change how many ppl played her. Plague is just like Hag, both of them are very good if you're very experienced. For example, ppl don't play Hag because of her power and her counters. The only way to fix that is by giving her a rework, the same could be said for Plague.
I just feel like plague is definitely far lower on the list of killers who need changes and I think she's in a much better spot than a fair number of killers currently in the game. She also has a pretty unqique gamestyle compared to other killers.

Gen rushing exists, but it's often used as an excuse or scape goat for killers to explain why they lost. No you didn't loose because of genrusihing, you lost because you weren't able to down fast enough or apply enough pressure. Stop blaming it on genrushing.
-
Increasing cleansing time to base healing speed and allowing for healing/speedup and slowdown perks to affect these speeds is the only change she really is. This would bring her inline with other killers, as the problem is survivors don't need to waste as much time cleansing and have far more time to work on gens, often ending up with them popping at a faster rate.

Oh! My bad, I assumed you meant problematic as in "OP". That's what I've seen the term used for the most, is if somebody doesn't like a killer. Yes, then I agree - I would rather focus on the killers that are underpowered before we go nerfing them all again.
Yea exactly we don't need more energy invested into nerfing killers who are fine, I would rather the weaker killers be helped out and then killers who maybe are too opressive looked at, and I find doctor is in neither of these catagories.

I like to blink around the map as The Nurse. I enjoyed the experience of tearing through the void as she does without having to bow to any other force. Now, there's a cooldown, and simply by its existence, I am being restrained from the fun feeling I enjoy. Do I care if I win? Not really. If it happens, it happens, and if it doesn't, it doesn't. Do I care if I enjoy the experience of blinking? Very much so.
What you say assumes that my enjoyment stems from in part being successful at Nurse. That's not the case at all. "[P]racti[c]e her more and invest time into her" doesn't even touch on the qualm I have. Certainly, when you say "just not ur type of killer", you imply that these critical parts of The Nurse haven't changed even though they clearly have. She was my "type of killer" before, but that cooldown and those atrocious add-on changes (RIP Jenner's Last Breath and Anxious Gasp combo) make her a completely different beast in terms of feel.
But perhaps even more importantly, I extremely enjoyed going against Nurses even if they were "carried by extra blinks" because it meant there were other aspects of the game I was able to use against them. Facing The Nurse when she had good ping and wasn't overly oppressive was a highlight of any survivor play session. Two of my most memorable and favorite games as a survivor were against The Nurse. My adept Laurie was completed against The Nurse, and using OoO in that match was terrifying.
In short, it seems as if the reasons people don't find The Nurse nearly as enjoyable fly over your head because your comments pertain to nothing.
Ur missing the point that ur enjoyment from playing old nurse stemmed from ruining the enjoyment of the survivors, especialyl if you were playing with range or extra blinks. If you only enjoyed old nurse for the insane things that she had well them i'm not suprised you hate new nurse, who's far more balanced. Cooldowns prevent you from just zoning people to insanity and if they are such a big issue to you, then run recharge or cooldown addons.
And you're saying you enjoyed facing 3+ blink nurse? Who you would outplay only to be smacked by their extra blinks and negate any effort you made? talking about a nurse with half a brain btw, ofcourse you would have fun against a nurse who has no idea how to play the game, that applies to every killer.

clarification: Nurse is still the best killer, but the devs destroyed how fun she was to play (primarily to avoid seeing so many complaints about Nurse). I thought I'd say that for all the people who came to your comment and didn't know what you were talking about.
They didn't destroy her, they destroyed all the boosted nurses who were carried by extra blinks and range. If you still don't find her find to play, you either need to practise her more and invest time into her or she's just not ur type of killer.

No but I have watched and seen gameplay from the highest oni downs player in the world (who doesn't use infectious and slugs minimally), and from what i've seen he does more than fine.
Picking survivors up actualyl saves ur power so ur able to go into it far more easily and need far less blood. Slugging can even backfire if you aren't careful and just waste ur power and loose ur down.

It stops bully squads from last second swapping to be clones of another as well as stop survivors from bringing a surprise key without giving the killer time to adjust.
Big deal, not like survivors ever had time to adjust to an incoming mori. There are far bigger concerns in this game which need to be adressed than something as small as this.

Lol what? Wraith is not good in chase this is literally the best way to play him why would you downgrade to different playstyle? Oni is made for slugging because if you don't slide you lose the game to good players
Difference is you don't need to slug to win or do well as oni. Wraith is reliant on hit and run, otherwise he's literally an m1 killer who has a chance of getting a free hit here and there. Ghostface on the other hand is not reliant on this playstyle, and that's what i think wraith should be more like.
-
And what exactly would the benefit of this be? Stop survivors from swapping what they look like? Punishing survivors because it's "unfair" that killers have to deal with it?
-
My only hope is that he doesn't become even more hit and run than he already is, because that would honestly just be really boring. I would rather not have a killer who is reliant on a certain playstyle to win.
-
Umm what?
A) Who's having tantrums over killer detection perks? I sure as hell don't know anyone, even the most bias of survivor mains.
B) These so called "toxic bratty survivors" actually have genuine concerns for the games health. Chases ARE the funnest thing for majority of the survivor player base, whether you personally like it or not, and when there are a few killers who completely destroy the funnest part of the game and remove interactivity, you loose alot of fun. It's exactly the same reason why being genrushed and vsing survivors who you never find all game are boring. No interactivity- No fun (For most players at least). And especially these days where trying to win in solo q is almost fully dependent on the killer and ur teammates, so chases and fun gameplay become the priority.
C) You don't need a killer to have no or a weak antiloop to be fun in chase, I mean look most survivors are fine with killers like nurse, huntress and oni, who are far stronger than that of deathsligner or pyramid head. It's all about making the power engaging, fullfulling and able to use/beat and creating fair chases, not some guess right and you live guess wrong and you instantly die type of stuff.
-
Sorry but i'm not on board with this, doc is in a great spot (apart from his purple discipline insta-shock addon) and I would rather they adress problematic killers like wraith, spirit, clown and freddy.
-
@dezzmont said:
The toxic survivor problem is a super interesting one a lot of asymetric games face. Low key, especially in the 2017 era of DBD, it was not an accident that the survivor community was so toxic. A big problem with asymetric game design is there is a huge incentive to cater play to the 'many' crowd and DBD got a big reputation for basically letting your 4 friends bully one person.
The game definitely pulled up from diving into that cesspool because of collective community action that made it super clear (along with the first launch of Deathgarden crashing and burning because they went WAY too hard making that a hunter bullying sim. Imagine if you could get flashlighted every 3 seconds no matter what, your gun got turned off every 3 seconds no matter what, ect, it is like those bad reddit meme perks that are like 'fingerguns, stun the killer for 20 seconds, 5 second cooldown) that wouldn't continue to be sustainable. But that element of the community persists.
I think the big problem with the new killer experience is bad 'matchmaking.' Specifically, it isn't that matchmaking is bad, but survivors are currently in an overbuffed state meaning that the pool is completely saturated at the high end as moderately skilled survivor play takes a disproportionate amount of killer skill to beat. This means two things: One is that new killers are more likely to be matched against moderate to good survivors, and it means even moderate killers need to 'work harder' than survivors at their own level. When a newbie killer is matched against survivors actually of equal skill to them, because the skill floor of survivor is higher, the survivors do really poorly, but the skill ceiling of survivors is waaaaaaaaay higher than the skill ceiling of most killers, so killers need to squeeze every bit of mastery they have into their play to counter moderately good survivors. This is because so much of the killer's gameplay is hard limited by binary mechanics and absolute limits on their ability to act that survivors just don't face. So even though the upper end of killer power is literally unstoppable, even high tier killer is extremely hard and frustrating.
So its a way more complex issue than 'survivors op' or 'killers op.' Its why balancing by winrates doesn't make sense either. Most of what killers need are A: More punishments for low skill suboptimal survivor play that is currently extremely powerful, like mindless linked strong loops, which is why we are seeing so many map changes that create large deadzones that 'unlink' strong loops and thus require you to actually know how to mindgame to end any given loop segment with enough distance to get to the next one (sorry, ormond is still survivor sided at rank 1, its just way more fair than it used to be and requires actual loop execution to utilize. Like the survivor equivalent of running nurse), and B: A LOT of quality of life changes that make the killer experience less frustrating even if you lose.
Like that second one is the biggest to me. There is an absurd amount of stuff in the game designed to ensure survivors never get their precious feelings hurt, but killers just gotta sit and take it. The introduction of end game collapse to prevent survivors taking games hostages is a fantastic example: It took forever because it was a killer sided emotive issue which means automatically 'not a priority because they aren't the moneymakers,' and the solution was very clearly designed to STILL allow Survivors to be huge jerks for no reason, when all that was really required was a concede button.
They actively gave themselves more work to ensure survivors could bully killers, and then people wonder why the survivor Q is so long and so broken!
Here's my problem with the toxic survivor argument though, it's a problem with the individual players not survivor as a whole, and killer's can be just as toxic to new survivors if they want and compeltely ruin their game experience and any chance of learning or getting better, it is not a survivor only issue, it's a problem with the game as a whole.
Sure tiles were very busted, especially when there was infinites/double pallets etc, but where do you draw the line to stop nerfing survivor loops, because if they are continued to be nerfed, you will reach a point where there's nothing you can do to stop a good killer as survivor. Deadzones are no skill and boring for both sides, i would rather outplay a survivor at shack or a jungle gym (mindgameable and balanced loops) than hold w and catch survivors who have nothing else to do but hold w themselves. Insanely unsafe pallets also suck because there's no thought proccess or stategic thinking for me as killer to catch them at those loops, just walk around if they pull the pallet or a quick double back if they try to loop the extremely short loop.

I don't think Bubba is easier for newer Killers now.
LF has to manage his stacks correctly, otherwise, you waste them and are basically playing him how he was played before the change.
Besides, he's DLC and most new players aren't going to buy him before they play a bit.
--
Since you don't have to stance change with the Doctor he is mostly easier. He did have passive Madness generation before but once you started changing your stance then things would get more complicated.
At the end of the day new players won't be using bubba's chainsaw to travel 20m+ and get instadowns on good loopers where possible, they'll be using it to break pallets and catch those rank 20 survivors who run into walls and stuff. Although bubba probably isn't the easiest killer, once you understand how his charges work it's pretty easy to get the hang of him, especially if you have basic game knowledge from survivor and other killers.

That "reality of matches" is the only basis for argument you've presented other than just generally saying killers who use it are bad. If it's the only context in your argument than it's fair to say that you're not stating an opinion. You're presenting the "reality".
I gave several situations and examples of how ruin undying would affect an otherwise normal game and many other points about how killers win perfectly fine without it, so no that wasn't the only basis. Regardless, it's not an opinion to state that there are other things which need to be done by survivors already, it's not just doing gens and escaping.
-
Look you've got a point. I do think they are making some things harder for newer players but A) it's often for good reason and B) they are making things easier simultaniously. Look how much easier bubba and doctor are for new players to begin with now, great first picks and killers I would reccomend starting out on.
Also if you weren't around before the billy rework then you never would have experienced billy without a cooldown so technically you wouldn't know any different, even tho it does suck.

No i said that the reality of actual matches is that there are many other things survivors need to do and are pressured by, so using base gen speed stats proves nothing but how fast gens can go against an afk killer, I never said the reality of matches is that ruin undying breaks the game, I just gave evidence and poitnts as to why I believe ruin undying is busted.

I'm saying you're not very good at survivor bc most I use RU my undying falls within 2 mins of match start.
If you can't play around it and 8 out of 10 others can, I'd say those 8 are better than you. So learn where your deficiency is and get better.
I havn't said it gives killers easy games and sometimes i do think it's rightfully helpful, however sometimes it can also be way over the top and carry killers without them learning ways to improve their game and skillset.
Yes because ruin undying falls within 2 minutes majority of games, i bet stats would differ if they ever were to be released.
Beating a bad killer who is running it or throwing the whole game to do totems is not "playing around it".

But there's some games where tunneling is necessary to play catch-up because you're losing, because of mistakes you made or otherwise, In which case 4 people running DS creates and unwinnable game.
You shouldn't be able to just instantly resort to tunneling and camping when you are loosing though. that's like playing a racing game and teleporting to the front when you are loosing.
I do think you should be able to tunnel and camp BUT there should be heavy punishments and tradeoffs for it, so that you are required to carefully decide when you should and shouldn't use these strategies and so that it's not an instant resort when you are loosing.

The rat liver is NOT overrated, it is the addon that can help you draw the line between the survivor turning a corner so you can land the shred, it allows you to take your time holding it so you make sure you land your shred, it's on top of all tier lists for a reason.
It's simple, we just need more addons towards his shred instead of portals
No, it covers for you if you charge ur shred at the wrong time and allows you to zone survivors like dslinger and phead. All of which is unescasery if you're good at demo and know when and how to use his shred.

After playing Demogorgon to prestige three and beyond for specific perks, In my opinion the vocal Demo players are misusing portals for surprise attacks over informational use and crutch misusing the shred.
Perscriptions:
- Place the portals directly on generators. The portals are actually quite effective at gen slowdown as survivors want to break these often times. Also by putting the portals on generators the Demo guarantees the effects of his addons. After some setup it’s surveillance on the objectives.
- Stop holding shred during chase. The brown addon that increases Demo’s shred walk speed is a crutch and overrated. The demo would be better knowing the situations that guarantee a shred hit and react to the survivor rather than walk around holding shred for longer than three seconds.
Completely agree, makes me loose braincells when demos walk around with their mouth open rather than actually learnign and choosing to use their shred at the appropriate times.

His addons deifnitely need a pass, but i don't want to see more lunge addons. Why? Because they could very easily break demo. Imagine an instalunge or the ability to move at 115% speed whilst charging it, would be more busted than deathslinger. Like clown, i'm worried they will do something with him that will just make him stupid.
